When I was in Prague they had the Czech version of these pointless soldiers parading across a bridge. Once they got to the other side, one of them stacked it on the cobbled flooring and his gun skidded across the floor, landing at the feet of a horrified tourist. I'm assuming it was unloaded, but the soldier didn't half throw himself on it.
You can see how Hitler took it in 45 minutes.

When I was doing my military service, one of our soldiers went through the safety procedure that ensures there's no bullet in the chamber at the end of his shift, but he didn't remove the magazine (which was step 1), and proceeded to shoot in the air. This understandably raised alarms (at 4am mind you) in both our camp and the Turkish camp across the river. Wars have started for less.
