I believe it's the sheer power of moderating a forum with as many as 20 active users. It's enough to tip anyone over the edge.
Making a post in jest doesn't have to be at the expense of someone.
Six years, is that what it actually adds up to?
There are five of us here with the power to permanently ban people, and between us we've probably had some issue with every member here. Why are there any members left if the power's gone to our heads and we're all bullying tyrants?
Harold wasn't just an irritant. Any time things didn't go his way he'd actively try to make the board worse for everyone. He'd flood every active thread with meaningless pictures just to make reading the thread a hassle. Forget the internet, and take that behaviour into your real life where you try to be fair and try to act with justice. How many times would you invite someone back to your house if every time they came round you had to throw them out because they spoiled every conversation and started shouting over everyone else with their fingers in their ears when someone told them to give it a rest?
My guess is that it would be fewer times than he was allowed back here to do the same thing.
Saint, why do you even care so much?
If you want to chat with Harold, can't you do that at The Refuge (does that still exist..?) or somewhere else? Is it important that he's around here, specifically? You know he annoys most people on here extremely much.
If only Harold had well over a decade worth of chances to sort himself out. If only.
Look at Ital dying on that hill. Amrite Saint? o/
"That extraordinary racist guy who couldn't go 2 posts without saying something completely fucking bonkers and ruining almost every thread...? Yah let's bring him back, you power hungry cunts!"
That was how I used to try getting Saint unbanned.
You weren't unbanned Saint, it was decided to not carry across any bans over from TheDugout when the new board started.
What a thoroughly boring thread, why does Saint have such a hardon for Harold?
I will say this and this alone: Saint > Harold.
Thirded.
The only way to defeat Harold is to give Saint the self-confidence he needs to finally let go.
Come on Saint, you can do it!
Such humility.
