It varies, but usually a Bryan Alvarez and/or Dave Meltzer wrestling one, a Lapsed Fan wrestling one, one of a few football ones or Chart Music (nerdy 90s music journos talking about old episodes of TOTP, it's great). Ideal combo is something I'm tangentially interested in but also low-octane. Familiar voices help as well - I won't check out a new podcast before going to sleep. Too exciting.

I find them mostly excellent. The fit is class, calls are good on the other end, battery life is brilliant, and the gestures work very well. Sound quality is grand, nothing special, so if that’s what you want then the air pods are better if they’ll stay in your ears (that’s why they were out of the question for me). They were a hundred euro cheaper than air pods though and if you really want sound then at that money you’d probably get those Sony ones anyway.

Nice, thanks. I think sound is probably worth prioritising, although anything should be an upgrade on the £20 Chinese ones I have currently.

Yeah I don’t listen to music so sound isn’t a massive priority. The Sony WF-1000XM3 appeared high in a lot of lists I seen for sound quality. They have noise cancelling too.

Been looking at portable speakers too. Quite like the look of the Ultimate Ears Megablast. Anybody got any experience with them or other recommendations? I want at least 12 hours battery and preferably an extremely anti-social maximum volume.

I can't understand why anyone would want them unless they have certain a certain type of hearing loss

I'm thinking they'd be good for group exercise and maybe work. Depends on if the audio is anywhere near decent.

I'd imagine they have less audio leakage?

I'm pretty sure there's more. I'd expect the sound quality of radio, but comfort is also in question.

Juat read about these in the Guardian money article. Hearing music whilst also everything else for maximum awareness of surroundings? I'm not one to go against my dirt-cheap TaoTronics for dickhead 'sound quality' reasons but that actually sounds like a whole new dimension of technology I could definitely utilise. Need to try a pair ASAP.
