If anyones interested in what that Stormy Daniels lawyer is up to nowadays. May I reccomend This Week In Atrocity which was hilarious this week. They get a couple of lawyers to go through the various crimes Avenatti's being accused of/bang to rights on and it's the classic case of 'Italian-American shouts at people to get his way until he shouts at the wrong people and his world falls apart'

Anyone recommend some comedy podcasts?
I got into the podcast game by discovering Athletico Mince the other month and binged it but have now fully caught up so I need something else.
I tried Free to a Good Home which seemed to have some promise with the first couple of episodes but now Michael Hing et al just piss me off.
Been listening to Caliphate by Rukmini Callimachi of the New York Times. She's great, and the first half of it is immense and pretty gripping, but I've lost interest with the second half of it where she's reporting from Mosul.
Anything similar I should listen to? Serialised documentary style stuff.
This new thing of podcasts (clearly getting money) hosting specific shows only on Spotify is really tedious. It's not a good podcast app and I don't want to use it.

They get random older footballers on to just talk bollocks for an hour. A decent laugh. I really enjoyed the Mark Crossley one due to the number of Clough stories
Sounds interesting but they'll have to have someone I'm interested in to take the dive. They're all a bit pre my time or lower league journeyman.

Literally couldn’t think of two podcasts with more annoying voices than Travis McElroy and John Hodgman so well done.
Maybe growing up around the accent has numbed me to it. There’s only a couple that aggravate me enough to ignore.
Edit: Hodgmans not that bad thinking about it. It’s Jon Ronson with an American accent.
There was a true crime podcast I started listening to a few years ago that was really good, but the vocal fry on the presenter grated on me so much I just had to stop listening to it.

Podcasts are always at their best when there is clearly 1 hour of hired studio time which has to be used wisely.
How Did This Get Made can be great fun when they've got the right combination of guest and film. It's Paul Scheer, Jason Mantzoukas, and June Diane Raphael lolling at shitty films along with a guest or two. It suffers a bit from being recorded live, and I always switch off the moment they start going to the audience for comment, but there's generally a good forty minutes to an hour before they do that. I'd recommend the episode on Sky Captain with Joe Mande as a decent representation of the product as a whole.Quote:

I listen to podcasts for around 5 hours a day on average and still don't listen to one American one, not even NFL ones.
Anyone who listens to Second Captains, they run this during the summer too when they have a show on Radio 1.

My 2015 MacBook is one of the best things I've ever bought, and easily the best computer. Still works as well as it did the day I bought it. You would hope that would be a given for a thousand pound laptop, but it's not.
Had to bin the Ramble after listening for years , the only slightly bearable one now is Marcus.
I think Jimmy Flloyd perfectly summed up football podcasts in this thread previously.
Michael Bispings podcast is great, he's actually very funny and has a great rapport with Luis J Gomez, though understandably Luis isn't to everyone's taste.

The main GAA one I listen to has been completely overrun with Paddy Power lately too. At least it's free but it's bullshit.
Ive been put onto the Darknet Diaries and it is very interesting. Especially the Xbox Underground episode where a few man used to hack gaming studios and play games early.
