Andy has renewed it for another year. The code to join that one is j5g6kp
EDIT: I’ve scrapped the idea of a paid league. Let’s just play for fun.
15%? 5%? Don't dilute my takings ffs.
Happy to listen to other suggestions.
Having a prize just for first place can kill everyone’s interest early, imo.
If anyone's interest is at risk of being killed, they ain't making top 3 anyway. And if their interest is maintained by 5%, they probably need us to crowdfund to get them their weekly groceries.
50% to the winner, then split the rest depending how many people join.
I've renewed the normal league.
Andy, is there a code for that? I realise I disrespected it by exiting and I'd like to formally ask yourself and fellow competitors to forgive me.
j5g6kp
I'll join once everyone has signalled their acceptance of my apology via pms.
This looks an absolute nightmare this year. They really ought to reconsider the classifications of players and maybe change the squad balance (4 midfielders and 4 attackers with the ability to play 4-2-4) if they're going to increasingly insist on every forward actually being a midfielder. Having the fixtures should provide some clarity, but with the transfer window open for ages past the start of the season and some teams not likely to actually start the season on time it feels there are going to be inbuilt structural issues that you'll need to be on top of before a ball is kicked.
It has a very four four fucking two approach to the midfield/forward divide. If it took a 4-3-3 approach then it would lead to a better game imo.
Martial's a forward this year.
Aubamayang and Rashford have both been moved to midfield.
FPL defines a forward strictly as someone who plays through the middle. So any wide forwards are midfielders.
I'm declaring gift aid on this:
https://i.ibb.co/dKT7xBk/Screenshot-Chrome.jpg
Will obviously change due to fixtures and getting rid of Davis but I kept him in so Giggles could appreciate the bench.
Aubameyang as a midfielder. You wot
Done well to get Salah, KDB and Auba, and not have a complete travesty of a team, Davis aside.
Will Henderson starts as Man Utd No1?
Wouldn't have thought so.
I like my team but I made it without factoring in week 1 fixtures so it needs tweaks and I need to decide if I'm bold and going for a wildcard in week 2.
I’ve changed my team about 10 times now
Yeah, I've ensured seethe whatever the outcome with the amount of changes I've made. The most recent development that had me in torment was whether to sacrifice a 12m midfielder for TAA or not.
Edit: Batty to Palace has fucked me up all over the gaff ffs.
Yeah I've made too many changes and hate my team. Will certainly be wildcarding when the transfer window closes, if not before GW2.
I mean, it's got goddamn James Milner in it.
I think I've finally settled on a squad.
McCarthy, Nyland/Steer; TAA, Doherty, Justin, Taylor, Lamptey; Salah, Aubameyang, Son, ASM, Armstrong; Vardy, Mitrovic, Brewster
Unsure about Armstrong but reasonably happy with that squad. Hopefully, Brewster leaves Liverpool or goes out on loan.
Armstrong is a gamble but you have a few event side way moves and loads of options at 6.0.
I've built a squad worth 99m, the extra 1m will be used to upgrade Son and one of Salah or Auba to KdB and Bruno.
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...90/unknown.png
Only swaps I'm looking at are Mane for someone and Wilson for Richarlison
You must have about 5m in the bank. What is that team
Obafemi is 4th choice.
:D
Does sort of read like "oh he's invested in attack has he?" as you go through the team, only to find a bunch of budget plodders there too.
Every man and his dog seems to have Werner in his team which is putting me off slightly. I do quite fancy a Chelsea attacker, and he seems the most likely to get a game from any of the many and varied options, but being selected by almost 50% of players is a bit :cab:.
I've gone Ben White as my Brighton defender, I reckon he might play as a defensive midfielder for them which might see him more involved up the pitch. Otherwise the massive ballache of neither Manchester playing, and then coming into a pretty soft schedule of games continues. A gameweek 2 wildcard still looms large.
Aubameyang, Mané and Bruno Fernandes is not cheap. Sacrifices have clearly been made.
I had the same issue and have ended up sacrificing Mané in order to keep the above two and also crowbar in what I suspect to be an underpriced Havertz.
I also have Werner, although it was a tight call over Jimenez.
Honestly if I do bad this year after so much overthinking, I’m gonna be sad.
Here's my current lineup. Fairly happy with it, but still deciding on a couple. Vardy is a bit of a punt, but he has decent fixtures week one and two - then he'll be switched to Martial.
https://i.imgur.com/xWSi1gk.png
I mean the world needs Brewster (4.5) to sign for Aston Villa or Brighton more than it needs a working Covid vaccine right now.
I think advanced wingers should really be classed as forwards on this
I'll be releasing my team at 10.59 on Saturday so set your alarms.
14/15 starters. 3 of my XI have single digit TSBs for that sweet sweet differential and price rise capacity.
4 of my XI are single digits. :harold:
You mentioned James Milner above, don't waste my time.
I have someone sub 1% who, unless I'm missing something (which is very possible), should be a hell of a pick.
Jamal Lewis?
lol, as if I would pick a Newcastle player.
Got him.
Very infuriating seeing so many similar looking teams. It really is a rubbish format but I have no idea how you fix it without going down a massive over-complication rabbit hole.
Gk: Johnstone and Button.
Defence: TAA, Robbo, Doherty, KWP and Webster.
Midfield: Aubameyang, Salah, Son, Pereira and Saint-Maximin.
Forwards: Antonio, Adams and Davis.
Is Che Adams actually going to do anything this season? He had a great pre-season last year then went goalless until July.
There's definitely some week 1 plunder to be had in knowing what midfield Liverpool might go with, both Keita and Minamino could pop up with Origi-esque contributions. At the same time, it could be total bog standard and neither of them feature.
I like Andy’s GK tactic.
His whole team is pretty frightening, actually.
That's quite common isn't it? I had Ryan and Button until I realised Button had gone to West Brom.
Adams has been in most of my drafts, but I've currently swapped him for a punt on Nketiah. Surely gets a goal somewhere across those first two fixtures. Martinez is the other one. Does he start the season?
McCarthy/Steer
Robertson, Egan, Vinagre, Johnson, Walker-Peters
Mane, Aubameyang, Gordon, Bergwijn, Saint-Maximin
Calvert-Lewin, Ings, Werner
Will have to bring Rashford or KDB in soon though
The things I'd do for a 4.0 midfielder...
Edit: Fucking hell, another 2 man upheaval in order to fit a third. I've also joined Jimmy's star man bandwagon (although I expect it may take him a week or two to get motoring).
Two points I feel could be the making or breaking of me:
- I'm avoiding Mitro and Vinagre hoping for slow starts and price deflations. The former's team is dogshit and the latter's team will struggle and I'm not even sure if he'll be guaranteed a start.
- The Nathan Ferguson conundrum. If I wasn't Jewing my transfers I'd start with Johnson but I feel tempted to back what will inevitably be the fantasy star of this season.
OK, cards on the table
Ramsdale, Nyland
Alexander-Arnold, Digne, Tierney, Creswell, Thomas
Dendoncker, Aubameyang, Havertz, Ward-Prowse, Fernandes
Antonio, Werner, Davis
Havertz at 8.5 and Thomas 4.5 are the value players there. The former, and I haven't been Bielsa-ing Cobham but it makes total sense, will surely take our penalties, as well as everything else. With Thomas, unless I'm missing something - and I could well be - with Chilwell gone and Fuchs injured for a time, he'll surely be Leicester's starting left back.
Timothy Castagne can play left back.
Although I hope you're right because I really rate Luke Thomas.
It wasn't Batman? Get the fuck out of here.
Nobody knows. That's why FPL is so stressful (and also why James Justin is so highly owned.)
If KDB goes up in price before GW2 kicks off my plans are in ruins. He won't, will he? Surely everyone will hold off until GW3.
Does Werner not take penalties? I had in my mind that he'd probably be taking them, no idea why. Also, is Havertz going to start in week 1? I tend to think Mount, Ziyech and one other (Pulisic if fit) would be more likely to start behind Werner - due to having had more time on the training ground etc.
I'm all about Doucouré at the moment, as part of a BLM engine room alongside Bissouma and 'Naby Lad'. :cab:
The game is crying out for a £4m midfielder. I've also been slightly tempted to implement the 'keeper strategy (having the starter and the back-up) for Liverpool rightbacks, as superstition has always held me back from fully committing to any of their attacking players (somewhat catastrophically) - £4m for Williams and if he doesn't play oh well, it's £0.5m in the bank (I'm very fearful TAA won't start against Leeds due to his lack of pre-season).
He wasn't for Leipzig according to my detailed, three minute research, whereas Kai was doing so for Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Havertz is more of an investment because I think he should be 10+ and is 8.5, and I tend to be a late wildcard user.
I mean I'd have Nico, Curtis, Rhian and Kelly Dalglish's ovaries in my squad if I could but what the fuck sort of shit are you up to Niko if you don't have 3 Liverpool players already (and Naby is one of the ones you do)?
I had Robbo and TAA (and Keita). Robbo went under the bus to free up midfield funds, hence the Wiliiams gambit.
I also have a build with TAA, Salah and Mané.
I find it impossible to be objective and so don't really like puting all my eggs in the Liverpool basket really for fear of double disappointment. Obviously this has been a very bad strategy for the past 3 seasons or so.
I've just done another squad with KDB, Fernandes, Aubameyang, Havertz, Werner, TAA and a lot of assorted discount [shite]. I quite like the team but I can't really work out how to get to it in GW 2/3 without wildcarding - only working strategy is to sub out Salah for Fernandes in Wk1, then Mané for De Bruyne in week 2, but those two being more expensive means the rest of the team is impossible to get right in the first instance.
Aye, there's going to be a huge surge in ownership of him and Fernandes, isn't there, which is going to fuck everything up.
Do you really need KDB for an away trip to Wolves, the toughest fixture on the calendar?
No, but if he goes up in value because loads of people put him in then it becomes a pain in the arse to easily transfer him in with best laid plans and all that, no?
That said, he's already in 30% of teams for GW1 so I don't know how much scope there is for demand led price rises.
Sterling had a stellar game against Wolves last year so it is possible to score points against them.
I assume he’ll be playing instead of one of Thomas/James but I had no idea who so felt best to leave out.
That Johnson geezer got West Ham could be good value. Started last few games after lockdown and is only 4m regardless of whether or not Fredericks starts.
Yeah, Ferguson won't go down in value and he's nailed on starter. Mitchell is just a one week starter so no point.
I’m fully invested in a GW2 wildcard and have chosen my team accordingly.
Obafemi out, Batshuyai in. Someones got to score a goal for Palace eventually.
Last decision, Richarlison for Wilson or saving the 1.5 for De Bruyne in week 3.
https://i.imgur.com/0RvSIYt.png
I've decided I will wildcard after this week to bring in Manchester players.
Wilson and Perreira gone. Saint maximin and Calvert Lewin in which enables me to bring in De Britney when I want.
Aubameyang's in something like 50% of teams, and is clearly going to be massively captained today. Giving serious consideration to getting off that train for some sweet sweet points differential (admittedly probably in the wrong direction).
I saw some quotes about Doherty getting eased into things at Spurs so I've swapped him to Tierney who has a nice run to start.
Think I'm done now
McCarthy
TAA
Davies
KWP
Salah (C)
Aubameyang
Son
Maximim
Barnes
Werner
Adams
-----
Ryan
Justin
Mitchell
Davis
Had Havertz but then I had two 4.0 defenders which just wasn't gonna work out .
Already my defender isn't starting so I'm down to 10 players before the seasons kicked off.
edit: Mitrovic on the bench as well lol.
Hastily put together a team as 11am struck. It saved but it gave me Wilson as captain. 'mon the Toon.
Fuck Arteta.
Playing two inferior CBs over Saliba.
https://i.imgur.com/5jghVCz.png
There's the week 1 team which has obviously already had a wobble thanks to Arteta.
3 willian assists yeah
I almost went for Gabriel and Saint-Maximin over Saliba and Ward Prowse :(
Tierney and Auba with some points in the first game.
Late disposal of Zaha aside, we're looking good.
Going for Mane over Salah :(
This strategy has not worked well thus far today.
Expect Saint-Maximin to score big next.
A fool for having 3 Southampton players, but Salah :hail:
60 points with 5 to play.
I needed that Leicester game.
51 with Havertz and possibly Buur to play.
Justin & Mitchell is like 15 points on the bench. Fuck could've been a great start.
Calvert-Lewin my only good pick. Everything else fucked me.
Thank god for Mo Salah, my last minute change of heart from Aubameyang. Absolute shit the rest of 'em [unless Matt Ryan scores a hattrick tomorrow night].
Made my sub already and let me tell you, it's as if I've had a serious brain injury on the surface but deep down, it's one of the greatest moves since we sold Coutinho and got in VVD and Alison.
73 points for me, would have been even more if I captained Salah instead of Aubameyang. :moop:
Considering Shaw and Bruno in for Doherty and Son.
Son's gone for Fernandes for me.
One of the Liverpool pair will probably make way for De Bruyne the week after, or I might just try to rotate the super expensive midfielders by who looks to have an easier game week.
The temptation to squeeze in the holy trio of Salah, Auba and KDB has me constantly doubting myself but I think I'm just going to go with two. Fates will be determined by this path.
Auba is a false prophet. Salah, Sterling, Rashford is the way.
Is that a selection based on their political activism and Salah's scraped it in due to his Egypt role? Interesting.
Fucking Rashford :D Auba scored more goals last season than he has in the whole of the last 3 seasons.
Is Saka not gonna play much? Thought he was a pretty decent buy at 5.5, but if he's not playing...
Aubameyang as a midfielder in an even vaguely competent Arsenal side simply cannot be left out. If he was a forward, then less so.
I'm going to have to learn to pick and choose my weeks to captain him though - went for it this week which vs Fulham was a fair call, but against other teams will need to refrain.
Need a big game from the Germans tonight.
Going with Mané over Salah and Ings over Vardy went well.
I’ve buckled and used the wildcard and overloaded the midfield.
Martinez; KWP, Justin, Lamptey, Dallas; Rashford, Aubameyang, KDB, Salah; Werner, Watkins
Nyland, Alzate, Brewster and Mitchell on the bench. Not arsed if Brewster leaves for Sheff Utd or not.
I've also wildcarded.
Changed my team up 3 times thus far though.
Not sure if it's worth the sacrifices made but I now have Salah, Aubameyang, Bruno Fernandes and KDB. :happycry:
Bring on those juicy juicy penalties.
100 point opening weekend and my net worth is now 99.8. Pepe was an awful shout tbf so I can't complain.
Been toying with the idea of wildcarding but I just can't settle on a team. So many players you just can't afford.
Way too soon tbh unless you're sitting on Harry Kane or something. Need a few more weeks' data, next international break looks optimal.
Anyone who uses the wildcard before Valentine's Day is a trigger-happy child.
Normally I agree but with 4 teams not playing in week 1 it changes things.
I always planned to wildcard.
As did I.
Although I was hoping for a stronger week 1.
Could you not have played the free hit in week 1 to cover that? Wild card has to be saved either for post January, or at least post whenever all the season narratives have fully formed.
I nearly always play my wildcard after the first year, it's a valid tactic. Especially in a season like this with so little pre season data and 4 teams not playing in game week 1.
I played my wildcard in the first week a few times and finished within the top 5k.
Being aggressive with transfers and wildcard early doors can mean some huge team value swings which can make a huge difference.
I've not played my wildcard this year though as I'm quite happy with my team and want to see City and United in action before I play it.
I didn't think about the chip.
Are you sure it couldn't be played Baz?
I assume it should have been fine after you've set your initial squad.
Definitely couldn't use it, believe me.
It couldn't logistically work with only one deadline unless they had two separate submit buttons. The Mane drop has got me thinking to choose him over KDB :eyemouth:
I forgot there are two these days.
What's the logic behind Mané's price drop? He doesn't seem to have been sold off all that much, or suffered a massive drop in TSB% [at least compared to other players who have seen bigger sell-offs or bigger drops and not been pinged]. Is there a formula for it or is it just arbitrary?
What’s his value now?
There's some algorithm that gets worked out a few weeks in every season so that sites like http://www.fplstatistics.co.uk end up being pretty accurate. I'm guessing each player has some hidden volatility factor that determines how many transfers are needed for them to move. I think it was the rotational Liverpool centre backs last season whose price never shifted despite being transferred in/put en masse.
Its transfers in vs transfers out excluding wildcards. So theoretically your TSB% could go up while your prices goes down if there are loads of wildcards being played.
https://i.imgur.com/9fJKyu8.png
That's what I've settled on.
Not all that keen on the forwards but hopefully the midfielders go bonkers.
Calvert Lewin 😎😎😎
Just checked my tram and I hadn’t subbed any of my United or city players in 🙃🙃🙃
ofc I took out Pereira :(
Should've wildcarded. Everyone is gonna jump on the Everton bandwagon now.
Calvert-Lewin
What a man.
Time to activate wildcard.
Captained the hat trick scorer two weeks running. I've peaked.
I captained Hamez and he’s on 20 points at the minute. Hopefully gets another
You filthy cunts. DCL has cost me 4 points I think and a heck of a deficit on a few people.
I was close to going all in on Everton at the beginning of the year and you lot caused me to bottle it.
I was so close to putting Bamford in over Watkins :moop:
Oliver had better not let me down over the season.
Ideally want to hang on to the wildcard until the window slams shut I think.
Went for a really early -4, Zaha, DCL and Hamez in for Antonio, ASM and Son.
I was pretty pissed but luckily I am happy with those moves.
Subbed Son out for Fernandes.
:happycry:
Totally worth it for the jinx.
VC'd Son
Niko doing the work of a hero there. How I've ended up with a respectable score without DCL, Son, Mitro and Kane only lord knows.
I hate this shit.
Leicester have so many players who are indistinguishable from a distance. Praet, Castagne, Vardy, Barnes, Albrighton all look like the same guy.
Think Castagne's going to be a must pick. Seems to have a lot of involvement.
Oh I'm in the wrong thread. Barnes is the one I've got, his shot volume is :alan: stuff.
If their Turkish Salah regen starts Castagne's overlaps will mean nothing (*he hopes*).
I've taken a 4 point hit.
Gabriel and Havertz (Lamps is determined to kill him) out Castagne and Hamez in.
Having had an absolute shocker last week, I've spent 4 points bringing in Richarlison and Son for Wilson and Fernandes.
Not sure on captain between Son, Havertz and maybe Trent. The former feels like after the horse has bolted, but still. Havertz is going to be immense and is going nowhere.
Too many good forward options at the moment. I have Werner, DCL and Adams who I'm happy with, but Jimenez and Jesus are banging in double digits between them over the next fortnight. I suppose Adams will have to go.
Starting to regret choosing Watkins over Mitrovic but will stick with it for now.
The sooner we see Brewster holding up a stripy shirt with a big 24 on it, the better.
I’ll give Watkins another week to see how he fares. Might regret going with the midfielders route and abandoning my forwards but I still have faith.
When’s the Manchester clubs playing their game in hand?
Aguero & Jesus out. I guess that means Sterling as striker. Is he good playing there?
Wildcard team
Martinez
Saiss
TAA
James
Sterling (C)
KDB
Podence
Barnes
Werner
Jimenez
DCL
----
Steer
Burke
Lamptey
Mitchell
Had my finger hovering over the confirm Jesus transfer button the other night, what a let off. Abraham is going to start and score today but I'm not sure it's worth it for a one week punt.
Some last minute rumours that Podence is injured.
I'd love to have Foden, but you just can't trust Baldy roulette. I've WCed this week and he was in most of my drafts, but in the end, I left him out. Probably score 4 today now.
Foden has such a high upside, I think I'll try and find a 4.5 defender who rotates will with him so I've always got an option if Pep roulette strikes.
That's a wildcard decision anyway which is hopefully a few week away.
DCL
Turns out I forgot to change my captain after making some transfers, as such Hamez needs a big game.
I am seriously tempted to WC to a team full of penalty takers.
16 pens so far.
I need Werner to put on a show
Ofcourse Southampton keep a clean sheet when I get rid of McCarthy + KWP.
This has been grim other than last week so far
I've ridded myself of Werner and got good old Jiménez in for next week, ahead of his price rise tonight. I've got 5 odd million sitting in the bank and it's really not a transfer I had to make, but honestly my squad is so fucking good at the moment that I might as well. Triple Wolves for their next four fixtures.
This thought also occurred to me today.
And I wonder will the trend of few clean sheets continue. Where’s the value in defenders at the minute? KWP and Lamptey?
I’m trying to make decisions based on fixture difficulty this year, so Saiss is in this weekend. Might add another Wolves player next week.
https://i.imgur.com/mEwfAij.png
:moop:
Meslier is getting 3 bonus points too.
The trick with the bench is to have no one who can possibly get a game on it. Ok, you might lose the odd point or two when someone is out, but you save yourself an entire season of seething as your bench outscores your team.
Kicking myself for not focusing enough on penalty takers with my wildcard.
Always want to put Mahrez in but can never bring myself to do it. Was majorly spooked that he hadn't featured at all in the first gameweek when I was thinking about drafting him in this week.
Another penalty. Might use my free hit next week to try it
Could very well be the worst gameweek after a wildcard ever :D
Some mug is going to have triple captained Vardy away to City undoubtedly.
Let's not pretend we couldn't see a Vardy raping on the cards. (I see it was penalty induced though. I've missed it all this weekend so will return with a 2,000 word post at some stage tonight once I've caught up.)
Podence
Son
Misery for thy neighbour
-4 for Werner & Sterling out for Vardy & Fernandes?
Jump on the penalty bandwagon.
-4 when Werner & Sterling have Crystal Palace and Leeds next weekend seems a bit knee jerk.
There's price fluctuations to be had advantage of there but Werner already down so yeah, you should just sit and think about why tf you thought having that lesbian was going to pay off (I expect Sterling will pop soon tbf).
Werner is going to come good. Captaining Son this week was a great choice but I've somehow washed out above average gameweek score with Trent and Pierre-Emerick still to play.
If we get penalties I think Havertz is likely to take them, assuming we aren't foolish enough to have Jorginho on the pitch. That said, Frank has probably had his toy boy Mason Mount locked in a penalty taking lab all summer.
How good is Brewster? If he starts I might get him and play him every week.
The only reason not to have him would be if you're a white supremacist and even then, he has white facial features so...
I could do with a wildcard after this week as my bench of four + one of my strikers being switched to Brewster needs to happen. I usually show such good restraint in saving it but may just take the leap, espesh if they all come back COVID-ridden from international break.
Solanke 2.0 I reckon.
Sheff Utd fixtures are filth, I can hold out at a possible hit of 0.1 and hope James is right [although I can't see it, his finishing is laser-guided].
Who should I captain this week? My first XI:
McCarthy; TAA, Tierney, Justin, Shaw; Salah, Rashford, Sterling, Foden; Mitrovic, Vardy
Tough one cos they’ve got Fulham next week (goals!) and then they’ve Liverpool, City, Chelsea up to in like GW8 but after that it’s smooth sailing.
I’ve had him since GW2 anyway. C’mon lad!
Edit: out of the way, Martin.
Jota straight in with Mané being diseased?
Forgot to change my captain so let's hope for a big game from Klich.
Oh and I took another -4 hit. Out went Hamez and Watkins for Klich and Ings.
In fairness this was never really the week to be taking him out.
Quite glad I baulked at captaining Richarlison as was the original plan.
Shit, I've got Ings as my captain. :face:
ffs.
Lost faith in Timo. Kane in for him.
I told people that Timo would flop.
He'll get good eventually
He wont. Havertz will though.
I'll probably go Werner out Brewster in to get 5 mil to upgrade elsewhere.
Yeah, Havertz is just about holding his head above water. Needs to show something against Southampton next up though, and even then he might get biffed as Chelsea have pretty rough fixtures after that (I think).
Captain Hamez
I was going to put Bowen in this week :moop:
Robbed a Barnes goal with a nonsense offside decision.
Looking forward to captain Salah running riot in the last game.
Im binning Aubameyang. I’ve got a decent score so far so kind of hoping he doesn’t even do anything here as half the leagues seem to have him anyway or as captain
Creswell digging me out again. I should probably start captaining him.
:face:
Fuck me.
33 people triple captained Watkins today. Who knew that 33 people had access to a time machine and this is what they do with the information?
Grealish on the bench as you do. :cab:
I had believed Mourinho that Son would be out for a while and transferred him out for Trossard as I thought Everton would at least concede a couple against Brighton. I wasn't entirely wrong, I suppose. :moop:
Still third out of seventeen in my league, though it feels as if everyone's having a mare apart from the leader who's 60 points ahead of second place.
Pondering a wildcard after the international break.
I've WC'd like a disgusting impulsive amateur when a man of my mental strength and pedigree should know better.
Mon the Villa price hikes at least. VVD out for the first time in what must be over 2 years. Goodnight, sweet prince.
Adams finally repaying the faith. The legend.
Those who sold Werner crying into their colostomy bags and this with the second wave of covid in full swing. Talk about the need to shield the vulnerable.
Captain Bruno missing a penalty :face:
Don't worry, he'll probably get another one to have a go with, unless that's him OFF them now.
Two missed penalties this week...
Not gonna wait any longer, Kane in Jimenez out.
Had 2 free transfers this week.
Ings and Aubameyang out for Kane and Sonaldo.
In the right fred this time.
I used my wildcard this week and now I'm rocking this squad:
McCarthy, Forster; Dias, Regullion, Saiss, Lamptey, Branthwaite; Salah, Rashford, Son, Zaha, McGinn; Kane, DCL, Brewster
What’s the point in Branthwaite if you can get starters for the same price
I could afford a 4.0 defender actually but all the cheap defenders who start are now 4.1 or 4.2
I am rocking the following atm:
Martinez/Steer; Lamptey, Kilman, Dallas, Mitchell, Justin; Hamez, Sterling, Alzate, Salah, Havertz; Kane, Watkins, DCL
Got 1.5m to spare so should probably upgrade a defender as no one is really doing anything
Johnstone and Button
TAA, Robbo, KWP, Killman and Webster
Salah (c), Son, Rodriguez, Pereira and Lookman
Kane, DCL and Adams
Another -4 this week to get to that. Still Have the wildcard .
Hamez is out tho
Sick of jinxing Aubameyang so he's out for Son allowing me to upgrade Wilson to Timo Werner.
Course he does, the fucking bunch of disgusting charlatans.
I've finally brought in the shirt heir and socialite Dominic Calvert-Lewin so from this weekend either his reversion to the mean will begin, or he will tear his anterior calvert-lewin and miss the rest of the season.
Still no wildcard even as I languish outside the top four and a half million, the absolutely brilliant strategy involved here is positively Bismarckian.
I went Jiménez to Kane and I hate myself for it. For starters Jimmy gets at least a brace this week, and transferring him out for someone that is already in 90% of teams out of fear of what he does to Jimmy Dunne is an awful way to play this game.
Don't worry, I've just brought Jimenez in so he'll probably die this weekend (after missing several penalties and being sent off).
Kept Watkins over Bamford. lol
Also triple captained Salah which I cannot remember doing
I thought McGinn was going to be one of my sneaky picks that does well and the only time he's contributed a thing is when I benched him in favour of a defender that conceded 3 goals.
Putting two rival teams attackers in and taking out Aubameyang on my current form was the best decision I’ve made in ages.
That late Newcastle equaliser ruined my weekend. Had two wolves defenders on for clean sheets and hefty bonuses. 13 point swing. :o
Having spent 4 points my total score was nearly equal to your swing.

I've accidentally fallen into the trap of having decent options on the bench and so, obviously, those players now outperform the picked ones. Palace consistently binning their clean sheets in the dying moments (and for what!) is getting a bit tiresome.
Really need to do something with Trent and Robbo. Painful watching them blank each week.
My second straight Everton red card is finally going to force the wild card. The sunlit uplands of the leading 4,500,000 players awaits.
Bamford on the bench :youpi:
You're not really paying for the clean sheets, you're paying for their attacking returns. They're basically midfielders.
There are cheaper models. Creswell has been a doozy for me.
Pretty chuffed with my dominant start.
Especially buzzing about swapping supposedly injured jrod for zaha this week. 49 already with kane, son (c), Pereira and lamptey to com
https://scontent-lhr8-1.xx.fbcdn.net...ca&oe=5FBB3646
THE LADS.
got 3.1 to play with next week too
Still 6 points to be added too, you jammy fuck.
Brighton clean sheet aside, solid enough weekand I'm happy with the outlook.
8 then ffs. 3 bonus points incoming for the dog-muncher.
Fuck you Igor.
was gonna swap out perreira for hamez, but fulham are shit so i could see him doing #bits
might go crrrrrazy and pick a 96.9m side two weeks on the trot
Thoughts on Southampton without Ings, @Andy?
Will Adams step up and be the main man and do well?
Who will play up top with him?
Or will they go rubbish and to be avoided at all costs?
I think it'll be Walcott and Adams upfront with Redmond back out wide.
I'm really not sure how we will do Adams has been great this season but its hard to know how much of those good performances have been because the opposition have been focusing on Ings.
I've got Adams and won't be getting rid, not sure I would get him in for a transfer though.
I was balls deep in the sesh/hangover I think because I replaced Ings with the injured Antonio.
It was between him, Adams, Watkins and Wilson. Not wasting 4 points replacing him, my bench can deal with it.
Made 3 transfers this week (2 freebies):
Castagne, Greenwood and Fernandes out for Lamptey, Sterling and Fornals.
ofc Fernandes is now having an amazing game :moop:
Forgot to change captain so hopefully Salah has a blinder tomorrow (or doesn't play at all as Fernandes is vice). Not sure if I'd have changed it anyway, maybe for Vardy. My useless 4.5m defender/'keeper strategy finally coming up trumps (to an extent) for once.
Couldn't afford Fernandes and didn't want to go -4 so went Jota out Rashford in and put the C on him. Saw me soar through the ranks.
Salah benched. FFS
Worked out fine anyway
82 points with Chilwell to come. First good week in a while takes me up to 68k.
Boxing day looks like the perfect set of fixtures for my team, should be another high scoring week.
Yeah, I've had a good week which has piqued my interest again, but looking forward what the hell is going on with gameweeks 18 and 19? I would sort of understand it if it was a midweek catch-up for teams with games in hand, but it doesn't really seem to be that, and after half the teams miss out in week 18 loads have doubles in 19. Then I guess the cup will be along to blow holes in that anyway. :cab:
Pep selection bingo blowing up Mahrez has put a bit of a dampener on things for me of late.
I've had a real nightmare so far this season. I've got my captain pick wrong every week. I picked Kane this week, while everyone else in my league had Bruno.
I had Fernandes and went from smug to seething to satisfied over the course of the weekend (having taken it off Salah).
Bruno really needs to find his true level and/or die in a fire soon.
Steady first third of the season has seen me maximise my team value enough to finally utilise it from next week onwards. 18 looks too lacking in potential to waste a free hit on and I'm set up for 19 superbly so bravely saving my FH is going to be my Mona Lisa.
This was always going to be a disastrous week to start the Cup (what with 2 day turnaround selection bingo and all) but now with the City game being off it's going to extra clusterfuck levels. They're going to have to have a triple gameweek at somepoint.
Absolutely laughable.
I forgot to change my team.
I have Lamptey, Sterling, Keane and DCL out.
Could have done with a Palace clean sheet :moop:
Got tired of Chilwell and there's the assist :moop:
As a Barnes/Chilwell owner with no Man City players at all, I'm feeling rather smug about life at this stage.
This week's madness along with the cup starting is the sort of injection of intrigue I play this game for
I think I've built up my value enough to be able to put out an unbeatable side. I just need 3 weeks and no major injuries for the remainder of the season.
I think they should blend two weeks together if there isn’t at least a 24 hour gap between one gameweek ending and another beginning. Only nerds enjoy that shit b
Edit: that b was an auto correct but I’m leaving it to sound hip hop.
Since when the fuck was Fabianksi injured? That's the first fucking clean sheet those twats have kept in ages as well. No GK points hit incoming.
The gyppo has fucking broken the points system on this shit and it's going to be like that season my stance against Sterling and Aguero, as commendable as it was, cost me glory. But principles have to be maintained.
My cup opponent is ranked 53,000 and has Bruno Fernandes captain. Still somehow only 12 points behind the bugger with more to come than he has, so if I manage to overhaul him he's getting the full Bjorn Lillelien.
Why in the flying fuck is Tyrick Mitchell my captain? :cab:
My opponent in the cup has what looks like an amazing team but somehow has over 100 points less than me in the overall standings.
I'm ahead thanks to Captain Bernandes but I doubt it'll last.
Mines got an 11 point Aaron Cresswell on the bench with no chance of coming on unless COVID postpones half the league.
I'm on 47 (after Son and Kane bonus points come in) and my cup opponent has 15.
I have Justin, Mitchell, Sterling and Ward-Prowse to come. He has Mendy, Justin, Cancelo, KDB, Mount and Adams to go, although Justin's points are obviously cancelled out.
I've taken a bad stance against Kane and Son, after having the Korean in for the first gameweek and binning him just before he scored 5 or whatever it was.
Had Soucek as well for the first few weeks.
I should really trust my gut more, but I never seem to be able to hold my nerve. Did the same with Salah in his first season.
i'm on 62 plus whatever salah gets, which is nice after last week's disaster
This has been my worst year ever. Didn’t even make the cup by the looks of it after the mare in midweek.
My midfield is currently Barnes/Salah/Son/Mane/Fernandes lol
59 all in for me.
My opponent has 35 with captain Salah and Che Adams to play.
Yeah, Cresswell fucked me over too.
It looks like I'm out of the cup. My opponent has 79 with Salah left to play. I have 53 with Salah, Robertson and Che Adams left to play.
I'm very close to securing the giantkilling over the man ranked 3.1 million places above me, I have an 11 point lead for my Firmino and Ward-Prowse vs his Robertson. Genuinely cannot wait to see how they somehow fuck it up.
Big Andy Carroll's strike yesterday denying Leicester a clean sheet was crucial, I fully punched the air when it went in (for the first and last time that afternoon).
I think I need a big showing from Kyle Walker-Peters to save my bacon (think I have a 5 point deficit with both having Salah).
Basically Fabianksi doing his nads in the warm-up has cost me.
Hat trick Salah or I'm out of the cup.
I got a Fraser Forster 6 pointer off my bench.
I was lucky with my cup opponent, who had a triple each of Newcastle, Crystal Palace, and Leicester players.
Allowed me to sneak through with my underperforming Robertson-Salah(c)-Firmino setup. Thanks go out to Cresswell and Soucek.
I've had Creswell since day one, a rare good pick, he is absolutely brilliant.
This next gameweek is the time to play the free hit, right?
Ederson is my main keeper, and I've had Forster on the bench all season. Ederson has covid, so I upgraded Forster to Fabianski in anticipation of an upcoming double game week bench boost. Fabianski gets injured in the warm-up, Forster starts his first game of the season and keeps a clean sheet against Liverpool.
Got to laugh.
I'd have struggled to get a lower points tally if I'd tried. At least it's been a decent week in life outside of fpl so I can absorb the hit.
Theoretically yes but the actual fixtures don't seem likely to yield many points so you're probably best to save it. Even using it for the double in the week after seems preferable given any teams who don't play play double then and the fixtures are far tastier. I'm saving mine for the remaining doubles/minimal weeks.
I would say it is, if you only have a handful of starting players otherwise (I have four, I think). I do expect there to be another "Blank Gameweek" later in the year, so it might also be wise to save the chip for that.
I'll play it this week, but I'm holding out on activating it because there are still rumours floating around about some sort of Covid break.
I only have 4 players starting and have zero Man Utd players (who I think might dump a few past Burnley) so am 90% tempted to play it, and hope my cup opponent swerves it (I'm 2.9 million in the world so not too bothered about the grand total).
Kyle Walker-Peter actually pulled it out of the fire so I ended up drawing in the cup, and then went out on goals conceded. Seriously?
Do these catch up fixtures count as the same week? Some players showing as not having a game for me, since they dont play til the weekend rather than midweek.
The next gameweek is fucked, but then there are going to be loads of stuffed gameweeks for the rest of the season with cups and whatnot, not to mention possible covid postponements.
This gameweek is going to be
I've got David McGoldrick in, it's like Custer's Last Stand.
I have 9 playing. If Villa are replaced by Fulham that goes down to 7 and I may be tempted to play a FH. If any other cancellations, null and void the season.
I had 6. Calvert Lewin being injured just turned that to 5 so I've binned him and got Kane.
I have 7 now, with McGoalzdrick being one, so effectively 6.
City are bankers for a clean sheet, as are Spurs and the now much more solid Arsenal I feel. I reckon a free hit could score a tidy amount of points with City, Spurs, Arsenal, and United players
Having said that now someone like Dan Burn will probably twat one in off his own face for a 1-0 win.
Spent 4 points replacing DCL before seeing the Fulham news. Fuck the FH, Fuck the FPL, Fuck life.
:D
This is the final straw!
I played the free hit a few days back but have still been shovelling new players in every day as the old ones pile up in the temporary mortuary.
I now have Phil Jagielka in as defensive cover in case any of the main four die, you have to play the long game at times like this.
There is no long game. We're one overly enthusiastic goal celebration from the whole thing going in the bin. Get the points on the board whilst you still can.
I mean the long game until tomorrow's round of testing has been completed.
Samesies. :eyemouth:
Could have got 11 with a -4 if the villa game was postponed. Have moved to play the free hit now.
Why what does the “Fulham news” mean in terms of this game week?
I may have used free hit to load up on Spurs, City and Arsenal players. :uhoh:
Aston Villa have withdrawn from their game against Spurs and Fulham have replaced them in the fixture.
Oh. Good.
Pretty happy with my team. Love how the free hit allows you to buy the cheapest players possible with no chance of them ever coming off your bench. Barry Douglas.
Choice between KDB, Son, and Sir Hurricane for captain.
I've learned a lot about the bottom end of certain squads from the free hit, not least that Burnley have a player called 'Mumbongo', who I presume is someone Sean Dyche has forced to black up so that his team appears more diverse.
I saw him in the cup highlights and almost had a stroke (which form, I'll let you decide).
Sheffield United only scored (and won) because I brought Darlow in :moop:
ofc I took Michael Keane out of my final free hit team late on...
So pissed when Maguire had that goal ruled out. Would have set my free hit up perfectly.
Having played virtually every minute of every game this season of course my Sheffield United defender gets taken off after 50 minutes in a game where they keep a clean sheet . . .
:rasta:
Missed the deadline yesterday to do anything, so the last 4 weeks of planning all gone to waste. Top work from me.
First gameweek this season that I have Fernandes. :moop:
I hope at least two out of Lacazette/Kane/KDB come up with good hauls, otherwise this Free Hit was pretty pointless.
Same. :moop:
Was planning a BB next week with my planning leading to 26 appearances  but now I'm actually hoping Villa-Everton gets postponed to just have the 20.
Pep benching Sterling (C). I'd forgotten how joyful this game can be at times.
My erection is in pieces.
Same boat bro. I'm numb to it all now.
The best part is I had Sanchez in goal :D
3 City clean sheet is nice but it really is annoying that I had Foden & Keane but took them out last minute for Neto & Cancelo.
20 points unless Arsenal demolish Palace tonight.
I've only got 5 players on double gameweek next week but the ones that are playing single games against shite teams are too good to transfer.
Triple Captain has to be De Bruyne, right? Two home games against Palace and a rusty Villa. I don’t see too many other good options.
I’m on 50 for this week with Tierney and Smith-Rowe to play. Ampadu on my bench with 9 is a little annoying. No idea why I thought Wilson and Newcastle were suddenly going to start scoring again. :moop:
Im saving my Salah TC (in desperate need of differentials innit) and hoping for some triple Grealish action or somethinglater down the line.
Can we please let this thread lay low for a week now?
I'm going out of the cup. Down by 1 point with no one to play whilst he has Lacazette :(
Not taking Keane & Foden over Cancelo & Neto has fucked me.
I'm not seeing any good triple captain options. Pep cannot be trusted and most of the bankers only play once.
Might put it on Aaron Creswell for the lols.
De Bruyne is usually the only player who doesn’t get rotated. I might captain Antonio for the lols too
Soucek, Cresswell & Antonio triple captains.
Cue a Moyes meltdown.
Villa-Newcastle's crept into the GW. BB here we come.
No Tierney tonight means 9 points off the bench from Ampadu. Glad I opted for one sub in the end.
Fucking terrible week.
Phil Jagielka scoring 1 point off the bench for a 90th minute sub appearance, this is 2021 boys. This is the greatest year of our lives.
I knocked out another highly ranked cup opponent who chose to do the FPL equivalent of 'playing the kids', on a proper run here.
Leeds not playing double has fucked me over big time. There's no way I'm getting an entire team XI playing double now. Also struggling to get KDB in without going to much minus.
56 points, could have been so much more if City let anyone other than Sterling take that penalty.
Next week I'm probably taking a -8 to get Ederson, KDB and Antonio in. 11 DGW players and TC.
I might take a -4. Not sure if it’s worth it to keep Kane and Son who have Sheffield United, which could be as good as a double gameweek. Vardy could be a replacement for Kane temporarily, but I’m uncertain. The DGW strikers aren’t very enticing.
Also - is it really worth it to TC a player (De Bruyne) who only has 3 goals all season?
I will be taking a -4 to get either Bruno or Kevin in, not sure which yet, but probably going to hold the triple captain. I have had almost no City players all season, which may have cost me points but also saves a lot of being pissed off about Pep's team selections.
City players, other than the defenders perhaps, have been a massive waste this season. I have severe reservations about a triple captain on De Bruyne this week (so he's bound to have the gameweek to end all gameweeks). Is that Villa game even guaranteed to go ahead?
Big Ruben Dias has served me well enough though.
49 points for GW 18. Not a catastrophe, but I expected more from the Free Hit.
for the double gameweek I've gone from Grealish and Son to de Bruyne and Lookman, which I've been regretting ever since hitting the confirmation button. :D 'Mon Ademola.
I spent 8 points to get a total of 15. Go fuck yourselves.
All 11 play twice and then Salah TC
Ederson
Targett
Cancello
Coufal
Soucek
KDB
Salah (TC)
Fernandes
Grealish
Watkins
Antonio
Team setup quite nicely for the coming weeks. I'll probably save my next transfer and then look at getting Kane or Son back in, maybe both.
Hard choice between Salah and KDB for captaincy, hoping Salah having a bit of a rest over the week or so helps.
You praying on a Villa game actually happening then?
Opted not to go for KDB which could bite me in the ass. -8 and ten players playing double, lets go.
Seven doubles and KDB TC. Vamos.
Was very close to taking a -12 to get a decent bench boost going but I would have had a lot of eggs in the West Ham basket, and would have ended up with a load of value on the bench afterwards.
Gambled on the KDB TC, praying the Villa game goes ahead.
My team:
McCarthy
Dias
Cancelo
Chilwell
Lowton
KDB (TC)
Bruno
Salah
Rashford
Soucek
Bamford
9/11 playing twice, hoping Leeds v Southampton gets added to the midweek, given the Shrewsbury news.
Pretty much identical to Andy. Mo TC could wheel me back in given a lot of people have got rid.
-8 and I have 8 playing twice.
Triple captained Sterling who has only failed to play 90 minutes 4 times this season. In those games he played 81 minutes, 18, 0 and 8.
Considering he just sat a game I can't see Pep benching him.
27 points out of 9 appearances so far. Oof.
29 for 6 for me.
I'm sitting on 50 with TC Sterling (x2), Martinez (x2), Justin, AWB, Creswell, Soucek, Rashford and Fournals to play.
Not too bad.
Thank you Mr. John Stones.
I was annoyingly correct about De Bruyne. Off in the 58th minute today, losing 6 TC points in the process. :moop:
Real gangsters went for Sterling.
:moop:
Martinez losing his clean sheet bonus (and getting a penalty for conceding 2) is a real shitter too.
Salah benched :D
Aye, but last time that happened he scored twice and got an assist as well I think.
Have contained Salah three times since the Palace game with one of those triple captain.
Waste.
I bought Salah after the Palace game. He’s getting swapped for Son now. Any word on De Bruyne? There’s not a lot of other in-form midfield options.
Forwards are the problem I have at the moment. Bobby Firmino ain't cutting it so I've brought in Ings, who I'm not even sure is playing but the other options are terrible.
I had Kane as triple captain when he got sent off so he got me -3. :D
81 points so far this week.
The only good forward option at the minute really is Kane. Vardy was doing well but scored nothing over the double gameweek and now hasn’t scored in 5. Liverpool, Chelsea, City, Arsenal, United - none of them have a good forward this season, which is unheard of.
Kane + 2 cheap forwards is the way to go. It’s all about getting the in-form, undervalued lads from the likes of West Ham and Leicester now.
How about Lacazette?
He has 6 more points than David McGoldrick.
I've got Antonio, who seems good at the price, alongside Kane but after this week I'm almost considering getting a minimal priced forward as the third one and paying for another good defender.
Antonio is the best value up front at the minute I think. No idea who to replace De Bruyne though. Already have Son, Salah, Fernandes and Saka
I want Cavani but don’t trust him to start
I've gone with the cheapo axis of Bamford, Antonio and C. Wilson up front for a few weeks now. The latter is probably a bit of a waste.
Drafted Salah back in for KDB so may the good times roll for him again.
100 with Martinez still to play.
I always look at Wilson and like the price, but then I remember he must touch the ball about 3 times per 90.
Grealish & Watkins to play. Hoping for a rout.
Mahow, can I sign up to alerts, YOU FUCKING CUNT?
Not bitter.
125(-8 for transfers) with Martinez to play.
KDB and Salah out, Son and Sterling in.
58 with Martinez to play - literally zero goals in my team, and one de Bruyne assist.
With both him and Vardy out for the coming weeks, I'll probably be fielding a 5-4-1 for the next gameweek.
Is there another gameweek and has the deadline already passed? Shiiiiiiit.
I'm through to round 4 of the cup, where I've been drawn against Saudi Arabia's Musaed Ahmed. He is ranked around 500,000 (about 2 million places above me) and has a very fancy XI indeed, however my Creswell-Soucek-Antonio West Ham axis of death is already out with the bonesaw clearing space for him in the fantasy football mass grave that is my ongoing cup run. If I beat this cunt he can suck my dick (and then get beheaded for it).
Of course Soucek’s scored two already, the week after I triple captained him and got a grand total of 12.
Could see some crazy scores this gameweek.
Ofcourse when I finally give up on Firmino he scores :moop:
Yep, same here. Sold Firmino for Ings, have got Salah and Robertson. My brilliant Captain Rashford ploy also did not really come off.
None of my ploys came off but it was enough to beat my Saudi shitbag opponent in the cup and into round 5. However, an overly hasty move to bring Dias in for Reece James might well be costly if that Kane injury leads to him not playing at the weekend.
And now there are no good strikers.
Kane has sadly died, so I've bunged 8 points on bringing in Sterling and Watkins. You had better fucking not fail me, Raheem.
Aye Antonio is a must at the minute. Although how he contrived not to score against Palace I’ll never know.
The Kane and Vardy injuries are playing into my no premium striker life philosophy nicely. The value hit when these cretins sell and rebuy the likes of Kane, DCL and Vardy :happycry: About time I fucking had some good fortune after some truly unspeakable GWs.
I got on Antonio too early and had to get off before he popped but hopefully those hammies have less than 180 mins in them.
DCL and Sterling in, Fernandez and Kane out.
I went for Watkins and Salah in for Kane and el Ghazi. Too heavy on Villa, but they do have 2 games in hand. Grealish 1 yellow from suspension so avoiding right now.
Anyway, Antionio might have been better, and Salah is a gamle given his shite form. But it's gotta turn at some point, right? :henn0rz:
Think ill do Soucek to Gundogan this week.
Really rough week for captains. Gundogan, Salah or Son the front runners at the moment.
I've held off reintroducing Son on the basis that I'm sure the link-up with Kane is of great help to him (as the one with Son is for Kane).
Son I think is just a little too good value to not have him.
When Kane's off, does Son do penalties?
I somehow have Callum Wilson as my vice captain so if anyone sees Son out and about today give him a dig in the shins from me.
I see my captain Sterling and Stones have been ruthlessly axed for today’s gimme win and a clean sheet. :moop:
I knew bringing in Sterling was a terrible idea. The man is a fucking lunatic who wins about half as many trophies as he should, if that.
Got lucky on Stones as well, hovered the cursor over him before choosing Dias.
Sterling is my captain with Kane as my vice :(
In similar, albeit perhaps less traumatising classic fantasy shit, Saiss starts getting left out of the Wolves team and they start keeping clean sheets all of a sudden. Probably only going to have two defenders this week with Walker-Peters out and Cancelo dropped.
I think it’s time to load up on good defenders. No team seems to have any really energy about them at the minute, and the league’s best assister and two best strikers are injured.
I would normally be like that, but this year I am so bored I find myself clicking on the bookmark basically every day.
Went Areola over Leno in nets this week. Who's the tit now etc?
I should set-up a bot that somehow fades picks it has in common with Niko transfers/subs and see how it does.
That VAR call against Ings means Martinez on my bench outscores four of my starting players put together. I knew I'd pick the wrong keeper in the McCarthy/Martinez conundrum.
Got board and wildcarded. I'm thinking about captaining a City defender. Look at this record.
https://i.imgur.com/Wz4DCkY.png
Both my City defenders were dropped today and Sterling as well. If you’re going City defence, I would say Dias and Ederson are the only two locks
Pure desperation after not making a transfer since Dec 19.
https://i.imgur.com/ae7ZXif.png
I've also wilcarded, so this is it for next week:
https://i.imgur.com/oSdarmH.png
Bamford on the bench :moop:
Maybe there's a chance now with Firmino starting on the bench. Atleast I get Dallas on for Cancelo
I have Dallas as 3rd sub, when the first two subs are both coming on. Superb stuff.
My poverty front line is the only thing keeping me afloat at the moment. Antonio to come up big later on.
I lost Holding to Bedaneck on my bench. :(
No Mane?
Yasss that's 25 points from the bench. If only I could nail the captain choice.
Salah captain
Also drafted in Bednarek to replace Walker-Peters, but hopefully he's sufficiently embedded on the bench not to be doing the dirty on me further.
4 goals and no Bruno involvements whatsoever?
Obviously this was the time I took Bruno off captaincy after 3 barren games.
Wan Bissaka
Bednarek at -7 :D
That Portuguese gyppo cunt ruining the game :happycry:
I have zero United players. 'Mon Salah/Antonio, bail me out here.
I've got 10 points sat on the bench as a buffer against the dread of Bednarek somehow making it into the week's XI.
Average of 19 points... Not bad given the results last night.
I have 0.
When you click on the highest scoring team, it's somebody in Egypt who entered the game last week and immediately triple captained Wan-Bissaka. I mean, come on.
Would be nice if they stop counting newly created teams and chips in those rankings to prevent the dirty ethnics from taking them over. Same with transfers and highest value teams. It's like a cast list for Al Qaeda.
86 with Son to play.
Fornals coming on for 6 fucking minutes has meant that I wont get John Stones' 6 points off my bench.
40 points and falling down the ranks in my mini-league. Brought in Hudson-Odoi for next week, because at this point, fuck it.
74 so far in a week where I have managed to leave 18 points on the bench and also had a terrible captain choice. Thiago Silva had better nod in a hat-trick tonight as I DESERVE 100.
3 simply tragic Captain choices:
Fernandes against Sheff Utd
Sterling against Sheff Utd (DCL vice captain against Newcastle)
Salah against Brighton
:harold:
I chose Hamez as my captain so thankfully he didn’t play as Fernandes extra 17 points will give me 90 with Son to play. Reece James as well if he plays or Coufal’s 2 points
Bednarek absolutely on fire since I drafted him in.
Exhilarating to watch Ings hit the post and have a shot cleared off the line. Also put in McCarthy today instead of Martínez. :moop:
I started Meslier instead of Martinez :(
Same here, Martinez and Watkins on the bench. With Dias and Soucek there too it's very possible that my bench could outscore my pitch this week.
Benched Foden. :''''''''''''''''''''')
https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/...scinded-appeal
So when are we getting the points back?
Potential game breaker right there.Quote:
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is considering letting Brazil goalkeeper Ederson, 27, take penalties - his team have missed three of the seven spot-kicks they have been awarded this season.
And I'm already maxed out on City players. :(
I reckon Gundogan stays on them.
I have Ederson though so would be immense, any goal would ensure he gets the 3 bonus as well. It would be 11 points for the goal and bonus and 15 if he keeps a clean sheet.
I've brought in the gundog for this week and spent money on also adding Gabby J. Surely Pep's got to double-start one of the fuckers.
+1 for bringing in the Gundog.
Double game week capitan too.
Also got Dias, Sterling and DCL on double GW and if I don’t get at least 80 points, a fox shall be sacrificed.
DCL and Justin injuries. Allah is smiling down on me
Missed the deadline again.
Why does it close more than an hour before the first game sometimes?
They should give you a week or something.
Think I'm just used to it closing an hour before the first kick-off (didn't this used to be the case?) and now get flummoxed by it when it doesn't. I may or may not have tinkered with my team at some point in the week, I really have no idea and can't see at the moment whilst it's updating.
Last season there were a load of line-up leaks a few minutes before they were officially announced (an hour before kick-off) so I think it's to put a stop to that.
I see I have Dias as captain, and he's 'ill'. :face:
I forgot to take DCL out.
I benched Vardy for Robertson. Should have known better, I suppose.
I can't account for Pep Roulette. He's on the bench, so he's fit.
I meant to triple captain Raheem this week but forgot. Let's hope a couple of Spurs games get called off for high winds or something soon.
Brought Barnes in over Rodriguez. Pain
Who captained Gundy.
Got him vice (meant to have him captain but didn't change it after bringing him in) so hopefully Dias dies.
I've got Gundo captain. Sitting on 75 points from 6. Still have 10 to play.
Dias returns and Gundogan misses out entirely, I'm not sure which case scenario that is, but it doesn't feel great.
I think at this point we have to conclude Pep is a genuine weirdo.
Sterling hatrick please.
I was hoping DCL might get some minutes here, none of my subs played either :\
Stones being dropped is also a shitter.
Captain Foden didn't quite come off as I'd have liked, but seeing as I have none of Gundogan/Stones/Cancelo in my team, I'll take 89 points. Could have saved myself the -4 hit for Pope as - of course - Martinez outscored him with one less match played. At some point I should just stick Martinez in goal and never think about goalkeepers again.
Captain Ings for next gameweek. :flex:
I guess the good thing about last night was damage limitation rather than catching up.
Ings captain yes.
Given my performance is directly correlated to Liverpool and indirectly correlated to the Portuguese Bugs Bunny, I expect this (or possibly the weekend after) to be the turning point. Starting point is #900K. Let's go.
I'm up inside the top two million now, I always start like a wanker and have to recover. Might have to employ a crack team of analysts over this summer.
Wildcarded and brought in Harry Kané and Sadio Mane, their teams can't continue to be shit for any longer surely.
I've gone big triple on Bamford this week as it's the last time I can see it being usable for a double gameweek [will there be others?] and surely he's guaranteed to at least start both games. There's an absolute horror show of a week on the horizon which I think I'll have to burn my free hit on when it comes along.
Raphinha is what you want to be TC-ing for that extra differential potential. FH planned for that week also although I'm not clear why it's come about and why they won't arrange some of the games in the backlog for that week so it might become better in the next couple weeks?
Yeah, that's the FA Cup weekend so I guess there will be rescheduled games which just aren't appearing on the gameweek planner [unsatisfactory] but there are so many of them that it doesn't feel like a double you'll have to specifically plan for and could be the bench boost week for me [if they all happen in the same gameweek]. Liverpool and meant to be playing Chelsea, for example, which will I guess be somewhat dependent on European commitments for rescheduling.
Salah and Antonio out for Raphinha and Ings my two free transfers.
Bamford captain.
I'm sitting about 50k, have been around the same rank for a while now. Need to put a run of good weeks together and get into the top 25k.
Sterling, Stones and Antonio out, Salah, Dunk and Ings in. I’m done with Pep’s shenanigans. I’ve even put Dias on the bench this week.
I’ve had no joy with captains or big money signings recently. Going safe with Bamford this week. I don’t feel good about a bench of Martinez, Watkins, Soucek and Dias as they are all in good form, but two Burnley defenders at home to WBA is surely a gimme and I’m loathe to leave Son on the bench. He’s in the last chance saloon at this point though.
Very concerned about that 3 fixture gameweek on the horizon as I’ve used my free hit already. Not sure whether to plan my next few weeks of transfers round that and then use my wildcard or just take the hit.
Raphinha is in and captained.
Wolves-Leeds on a Friday in an empty stadium and yet millions tuning in treating it like the CL final thanks to this beautiful game. You love to see it.
Kept DCL in as Ancelotti the prick said he should be able to start :moop:
Burnley double clean sheet you love to see it.
Shambles of a week so far.
Shaping up to be an under 40 week.
There's a massive double gameweek next up, has that always been there or has it just sprung out of nowhere?
I'm sure it wasn't there when I looked earlier in the week.
It's been suspected to be one for a while, but was only announced yesterday.
Was announced one minute after deadline.
Pep resting Foden ffs.
Pretty shithouse way to run things.
So, last week’s dealings in summary:
Sterling out - scored
Antonio out - scored
Stones out - clean sheet
Salah in - nothing
Ings in - nothing (so far)
Dunk in - hoping for a goal and a masterful defensive performance tonight
:moop:
I've already gone -8 for next week: Calvert-Lewin, Wan-Bissaka and Targett in, Antonio, Cresswell and Dallas out. Definitely too early, but planning for the upcoming gameweeks was giving me a headache and I just wanted to get it over with.
Will probably play the bench boost, because as I understand there is no double gameweek as big as this for the remainder of the season. I'm captaining Salah, as at this point some sort of Stockholm Syndrome has set in.
I would certainly have played my transfers last week (and probably in the week prior) completely differently had this double gameweek been known, which is galling.
My sweet LUFC taken me over 70. :harold:
They really are a bunch of heroes.
Double gameweek, caution to the wind, triple captain Harvey Barnes. Vamos chicos.
City have two double game weeks on the trot. Russian roulette as to who is guaranteed to play mind
Stuart Dallas is right up there in the all time top-value rankings. Always seems to score points.
If I’d left my team alone I’d probably have hit 90-100, rather than the 70 odd I ended up
Wildcard is happening this week. This is the defining couple of weeks now.
I've ended up having to spend 16 points in instalments this week. That penalty can't be avoided through a retrospective WC employed now, right?
Right.
Actually, I intend on using BB anyway so meh. Gonna be some ride.
No idea wtf I'm going to use WC for given I have FH for the death week (assuming 16 fixtures involving Bruno playing against Derby don't get announced the night before to fuck that up too).
Ooof. Let's chance it with BB and see if Meslier, Dallas, Raphinha and AMN (x2) can recoup the 16 points or not.
Interesting strategy, losing points to transfer in some of the few players that don't have a double game week.
They're the lowest scoring point scorers in my 15 so would be the ones to be sacrificed if I was to play WC over BB (although AMN in for Coufal was as a result of a transfer this week but that's because I have him recouping that 4 point penalty).
Just spotted that Pep benched Foden and Sterling :moop:
He's such a cunt.
Fuck off Stones and Dias fuck sake.
The thing with Pep's rotations is it's not like a normal manager where he rotates things logically and brings his stronger players to the hardest games, or doesn't make anyone do 3 in a week. It seems to be a random number generator.
Harvey Barnes was one of the chaps I brought in for an 8 point hit :moop:
Getting to the point where I don’t want to play next season cos it’s starting to depress me how shite I am and how every decision turns out to be a bad one. Dickheads in my league with triple captain Son. Eat a dick!
Started with 3 shit months but the following 3 have been good for me.
9th best scorer in December in our league, 5th for January and currently the top scorer for February.
Currently on 54 with this week with Emi Martinez, AWB, Stones, Son, Sterling, Foden, Fernandes (C), DCL x2, Keane x2, Mitchell (maybe not) and Watkins to play.
Losing Harvey Barnes for his second game and Pep not using Sterling on the weekend is a shitter but I've played by Bench Boost at the right time I feel.
Triple captain Harvey Barnes not going brilliantly so far but I've sent a couple of faith healers and a shaman to the intensive care ward at Leicester Hospital so hopefully he'll at least make it through the night.
Need DCL to score a hat trick or something otherwise my season is done for.
Keane disallowed goal :wall:
Pep is a fucking nonce.
Five points total from three City players (Foden, Sterling, Cancelo) in a double game week. :harold:
13 from my trio purely because of John Stones.
You think you have Pep and his rotation sorted and then you realise he probably does this to spite FPL players.
The only player safe from rotation is Ederson.
I only had Cancelo but he can gtf too. Foden/Gundogan would be worth a punt if they weren't liable to a cameo when benched but as is, only Ederson, KDB and Dias are solid picks and only KDB is worth the price.
15 from Dias/Foden/Silva. Was always going to be risky, but I really thought Foden would play more after his Liverpool performance.
This is gearing up to be another shocking week. I was last in Feb manager of month in a league I was 2nd in. Shite.
I forgot to change my team.
It means Harvey Barnes isn't available (but Michael Keane will come in) and Bruno is my captain instead of one of the City boys (although none will play in both matches because of Pep).
Fairly sure 60% of the posts in this thread are mahow telling us he forgot to change his team.
Second highest scorer in TTH for February...
Schmeicunt for Martinez last 2 weeks. :moop:
Tempted to ditch Salah. Knee jerk reaction?
He's gone.
18 points for me so far, Ings was my banker and is fucking injured. Cunt.
I see my cunning plan of captaining Dias for the double gameweek is really paying off. :D I really cannot seem to get anything right this season.
Man City should be banned from double GW's.
Foden fully trolling my captain selection of him and setting up all the usual suspects whilst missing about 10 sitters. Just call it an end already.
I captained him too and he's taken me over 100 points for the week tonight, don't knock it.
Do United have any strikers this weekend? I have Fernandes as captain, but if he’s got James and Diallo for company against West Ham then I’m a little hesistant to back him.
Alternative options are limited, though. Surely Villa are guaranteed a clean sheet against Newcastle tonight in which case Martinez is as good a candidate as any.
I thought about that, but I'm sticking with Fernandes purely because as soon as any twat dives over someone he's got a penalty kick.
The Liverpool train is restarting this week (he says once again), get back on the Salah/TAA/Jota[/Phillips] bandwagon and don't look back.
Wild carded. Fucked off the double Man City defence for a double Man City midfield and got myself 10 playing for gameweek 29.
Triple Aston Villa defence. :moop:
What’s even the point of next week? :cab:
I did not forget to change my team this week.
Out when Stones and Barnes for Dias and Raphinha.
Raphinha and Martinez starting over Watkins and Meslier have hurt me though as has Pep benching Sterling and Foden yet again.
:happycry:
Pain.
Not sure what to do this coming GW.
I have 6 playing (although Bamford and Son have knocks) and only 1 transfer this week.
I do have a wildcard but I like my team right now.
Might just make a transfer and hope 7 can cobble together a semi-respectable score.
Bamford and Son are likely out so what you can do this GW is duly accept my full girth :huhu:
Four 0-0s, I will be gutted when I only get 9 points to Taz's 14.
I’m just pretending this GW isn’t happening, then it’s full steam ahead next week with Aguero in.
Neves, KDB and Cancelo not playing?
Decided to not make any changes to my team and hope my 5 dickheads (6 if Son can somehow recover) can salvage something semi-decent from this week.
Bamford with a nice start.
There was a game tonight?
:happycry:
I've managed 8 apps this week and already on 9 points thanks to having both the participants in that goal. Need to launch a computer equivalent for FF (although I think James had one didn't he?) and win it next year.
I've used my free hit this week, despite spending the last 4 weeks putting Spurs and Villa players in my team in preparation for this week. Bottled it in the end.
Only the 61 with about 5 to play, you dirty dirty immigrants
I had Trossard in until going full Brighton defence, so at least they kept a clean sheet.
Could really do with Grealish not playing tomorrow.
27 for me so far.
50 for me. Trossard captain crew signing in.
Lol Cresswell.
Cresswell is a nonce.
22 with captain Watkins and hopefully (no chance) Son to play.
I was hoping to scrape 30 but I'm not so confident.
Taking -4 for Bale(c).
Watkins is a cunt.
Pereira first sub. If Cancelo or Foden aren't rested someone spread my ashes in the saunas when they reopen.
Edit: all rests just on Foden actually
Bamford captain what was I thinking...
Hopefully Kane scores 10.
Torres coming on is like a CL Final goal for Liverpool here. Don't you fucking dare chuck a third attacker on with game finished, you cock.
:D
lll
That's your fault for calling him out you fucking twat.
Any chance that fucking Nazi keeps Jota benched? Not with those African cunts' travels. And won't be Son, Kane or Watkins. Fuck me the seethe.
Son on the bench, there is still hope!
Although he's also bound to make a seethe inducing 5 minute cameo.
Son is my captain too. This week would almost be like it was manufactured to incite the most seethe if it wasn't for my Liv boys. Spurs ending the game within 30 mins and subsequently resting Son would be some scenes.
Mon Captain Kane.
Kane as VC. Just the 35 point swing resting in Jose's hands. He isn't a melt like Pep so there is definite hope.
Why is Bale not playing again?
The obligatory 89th minute 1 pointer.
Serves you right, you Portuguese fuck.
36 points. I have completely fucked the 2nd half of the season up almost beyond recognition.
KDB (c) benched.
Oh Stuart
Not even a token min for KDB for the cunts like MJ.
Dallas 3rd sub :moop:
Dallas my saving grace.
DCL as my VC...hmm.
Starting to think maybe Salah captain wasn't the one.
Textbook. It only works if you truly believe it.
Hardly vindication.
If Alonso stays on the bench I get Dallas in.
For some reason I've tinkered with my midfield (to get Kane in) and I've overlooked Lingard in the process. :face:
:harold:
Holding my third sub with 8 as well. :D
Doubt I'm alone with triple captain on Kane this gameweek.
Decided last night to swap captain from Kane to Sonaldo
I miss December-February.
I went Son and although it may not seem great, the late injury for Kane will hopefully have him sit out Southampton which should bring the two largely level.
I did not see that Kane got injured. That makes me feel slightly better.
I was sitting fully smug having taken a 4 point hit for this coming week and knowing not having any Leicester, Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea boys was the sort of sexy differential that put me in sensational position to attack the GW after next. Unfortunately, this Utd-Liverpool spanner has seriously harmed it. Tomorrow's lineup will inform us but I suspect AWB, Maguire and Bruno are going to have to be considered as in with a serious chance of starting all 3, right?
Absolutely. Ole hates changing the team and those are 3 of those that seem to never get rotated, Rashford & now Henderson too.
I can't be affording Bruno (both points-wise and the reputational damage of getting that tramp in) but Rashford and Maguire look worthy additions, especially when what's -4 if you think they start all 3. Hopefully both see not a single minute tomorrow.
I've caved and sold Son for Rashford. Which means that I now have 13 players with a double or triple gameweek but I also have Kane. No idea if I should bench him or not. He probably has a higher potential for points in a single game than the likes of Holding, Saka or Alonso have in two.
Has a triple game week ever happened before?
Was close to captaining Bruno but the Sigurdsson DIFFERENTIAL has seen me hold firm. Come on you Toffees!
I’ve also bench boosted.
I think Maguire and Henderson are the only players that start all 3.
Do we captain Rashford then?
Triple captain triple game week? :harold:
Their fixtures are pretty shitty so even if we felt any Utd boys were guaranteed to start all 3, they still seem inferior to Salah or Jota/Zaha/Gylfi differentials.
My only other choices were DCL or Nacho Novo.
I've had Alonso for ages. Gave up on him now for Castagne. Ofcourse he gets the start and now scores :moop:
It's going reasonably well so far, bar Schmeical, Mount and Cancelo...
Dallas, Son and Bamford all out this week :happycry:
Benched Nat Phillips and Watkins (in favour of Ruben Dias and Ferran Torres).
:face:
Think they might have outscored the actual team.
Only 1 more week of pain to endure. Absolutely relentless misery this season which bodes well for me next year given my superb xPTS.
Had a fucking shocker. My bench alone made more than half what my entire team did. Shite.
Team got 34, bench got 27.
35 vs 20.
Fucking had 2 transfers saved for final day but forgot to do them. Was planning on Foden and someone else.
Could have maybe won me the league this year
Still my top ever placement so you know, it's more important to finish top 4 than to win actually.
Our shit giveaway at the end of the game cost me 6 points, which cost me the win for one of my leagues by 1 point. :(
What a mental season, quite enjoyed it as it meant the usual xG bollocks and nerd fuckwittery didn't apply.
Well done @rushie I think
