What do you think?
Why are these two back in the news recently? I haven't been keeping up.
It's the ten year anniversary.
I reckon she was actually pinched, but that the parents ought to have been absolutely hammered, and more than likely would have been had they been a pair of morons off an estate somewhere.
I've been convinced since day 1 that the parents did it.
In the whole thing though two things don't sit well with me:
The first being that hardly anyone has said anything about them being shit parents by leaving their kids alone. Secondly, why the fuck the case has (and still does) get so much fucking press. Kids go missing everyday, why was this so 'special'.
Because a window was left open Mahow.
Shit, I forgot about that.
They're clearly not negligent parents at all.
The parents did what? Killed her? I don't think that's the case, but they should definitely have faced some sort of prosecution for leaving the kids alone.
I still hope Sandman's prediction (of her ending up in ZOO/NUTS with her tits out at 18) comes true.
Remember when he accused Jeff Winter of knowing her whereabouts?
I find it hard to believe the sniffer dogs with an otherwise perfect record just happened to be wrong so many times on this one case.
One parent killed her by accident, disposed of the body and didn't tell the other one at the time (maybe never has), which is why they've kept themselves in the media limelight for this long.
Having read part of that Wikipedia lin quickly, I'd say she escaped.
I quite like the suggestion that she's alive somewhere but has no idea who she is.
To echo what many others have said, I think she's dead, and I think that her Mum and Dad are bad parents. I don' think they did it though. The media need to collectively tell them to fuck off. The level of sympathy they've managed to sustain, for such a long period of time, is amazing.
At least we can be thankful she was wearing an Everton shirt in that photograph and not a Liverpool one. Can you imagine the fucking grief festival that lot would have created over all this? They would probably have named a stand at Anfield after her by now.
I'd completely forgotten about her until a year or so ago I was in an airport and there was a 'Missing Child' poster and I realised it was her. Has no other child gone missing in the previous 9 years or is this the only one we're supposed to care about?
She is the last child that's gone missing. Incredible really.

Pretty interesting.
I hope their latest funding request gets turned down.
There’s 2 options really:
1) They did it and have been loving life since it happened. Loving the attention and lining their pockets.
2) They fucked off for some dinner and left 3 kids alone in an unfamiliar place where anything could, and did, happen.
Either way it’s their fault and they should be (or have been) behind bars and shouldn’t have custody of their remaining kids.
I'm becoming more hard line on this. They killed her and ate her.
She’ll be 16 next year lads. :naughty:
At least Pead's are returning their goods. This whole burn after using isn't really fair and as a community they recognised that. Fair play.
I mean, we sorta almost found Ben Needham.
Thats interesting. Loading up documentaries on the tube right now.
Watch the one where the FBI guy analyses what they say.
You find it and share the link
Anyone seen the Netflix documentary?
The incompetence of the Portuguese police really was something.
Isn't all non-English speaking law enforcement and/or justice useless?
Because American one is so great...
But to answer the question: yes
Possibly, but the process of declaring a suspect 'Arguido' is particularly lolworthy.
I've only watched the first one, but some of the details are fucking ridiculous. The fact that she (Maddie) asked her parents, in front of company, why they had left them alone and didn't come when one of the babies was crying broke my black little heart. But they did it again anyway, the utter shit cunts.
2 summers ago we had a power cut in the night and our baby monitor cut off. By the time my wife woke up our daughter had made herself sick by crying so much (her light went out too). I felt fucking awful. I struggled to sleep for about a week afterwards because I was worried it'd happen again. The idea of deliberate doing that to her the following night would only occur to scumbags of the highest order.
They killed her.
The Spanish police force investigation into the paedophile ring the private investigators looking for Maddie found was codenamed 'Lolita P-Mix'.
You can't make this stuff up.
While I wouldn't say this documentary has completely changed my mind, I think this accusation (which I supported wholeheartedly back in the day as it was the most obvious explanation) stems from two things.
The first I've already mentioned, but the second was because they both come across as such unfeeling bastards.
The fact they were no commenting questions in the initial interview has always stuck with me as a massive, honking, neon sign that they at least done her in accidentally, if they didn't sell her to the lads from Taken.
I haven't watched this new documentary yet, but it'll take a lot to overturn that initial impression.
I think I've seen three episodes now. At the minute I'm thinking they didn't do it but the last episode ended with the cadaver dog being brought in so I'm probably about to be swayed.
Option 3. Neither?
I don’t understand how, if she did die in the apartment, how they hid it and inexplicably got her out of there and buried/chucked off a cliff/in the sea, while the press where all over them.
I do reckon she’s definitely dead, but I don’t understand where her body went. The other holidaymakers must be in on it, yet somehow none of them have broken their silence and grassed them in? It doesn’t make sense.
I haven’t watched the new documentary but apparently it adds nothing that we didn’t already know 10 years ago or whenever it was.
They would have had to do it before they went to dinner the night she disappeared.
The reason my mind changed somewhat having watched the documentary was the sheer weight of people in it who said they could see real grief in them when meeting them and felt sure they didn’t do it.
Now that didn’t come across once during their world tours and I’ve little sympathy for people who’d leave their kids alone while they stuff their faces, but there we are.
Indeed and the ‘she’s been abducted’ story would still hold.
I thought the documentary said there had been 3 checks done, the 3rd being the one where she was discovered missing, and the only one not done by a McCann the bloke confirmed he just listened at the door rather than going in to check.
There had. So whether he’d found her missing or they did it doesn’t change that the only realistic time they had to dispose of the body was before they went out to dinner.
Could they have had the tyke for dinner?
I just finish off the series last night and my opinion hasn't been changed: I don't believe they are being honest, but to what extent they are being dishonest I have absolutely no clue. Something just does not sit right with them, Gerry in particular for me. He looks like a cunt actually.
My guess is she was nabbed by a paedo ring who chucked her into the Mediterranean when the case got way more press coverage than anyone could have predicted.
Damn it, lads. I saw this making a comeback and thought something new went down.
I read Amaral’s book years ago and came away convinced they were involved in some way. I don’t think the documentary will convince me otherwise if I’m able to get through it but I’m 1.5 episodes in and pretty bored by it.
I’ve never really looked that deeply into this so may give the Netflix show a go. Not sure I’ll be able to make my mind up and not sure we’ll ever actually know definitively what happened.
Once their marriage fails, we'll get books from them explaining how they did it.
Or in the style of OJ's "If I Did It."

Why are they still pumping money into this?
This story is a pressure piece by a journo friendly to the cause. Whether they get the money is decided in October so they're probably worried they won't get it.
Also I had no idea that Police Forces are given grants to investigate certain cases. Can you petition for any case? Can you simply give the Police Force in question 'a grant' to do what you want?
It really bugs me that they are still looking for her whilst some missing children don't even get an inch in a local newspaper.
The only explanation is that nobody wants to be the one to pull the plug on it, even though I suspect most people would actually agree with it if it became a news whinge.
The plug should have been pulled a long time ago and I stand by my train of thought that if she's alive then a) she doesn't know she's Madeleine McCann and b) your parents drugged you, left you alone in a foreign country then profited from their neglect for years to come. If she is alive, she had a lucky escape.
Or she's living a horrible existence in a porn dungeon.
Don't get too excited.
BBC News - Madeleine McCann: German prisoner identified as suspect
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52914016
Just got a fucking notification about this on my phone. Hardly important enough for that.
Parents did it. If they weren’t well off they’d be locked up by now.
You know yourself how the British authorities operate.
The information they apparently have seems a bit suspicious, to be fair. How’s it taken 13 years to work out?
The way this year is going, they'll probably find her alive and well.
They either did it and should be in prison, or they didn't but should have lost their other kids and gone to prison for neglect. Instead, they've been living off donations to their 'charity' for more than a decade.
:D
They're a couple of doctors from Liverpool, not part of the fucking deep state you spastics.
Now, I'm not saying they are completely innocent, but if they have managed to get away with something here, it'll be down to them having outwitted the local filth, and not some over-arching MI6 conspiracy.
2020 shaping up to be the Year of the Bratwurst the way things are going. Donning coronavirus, winning the Premier League, and now they've only gone and solved the Madeleine McCann case. Shame for them there's no Euros.
13 years and £12m and they've only just clocked a convicted paedo from the same country. Top work.
Indeed. Something about this makes no sense whatsoever.
I imagine this new information has popped up as the funding is about to dry up. God forbid they don't profit off of her disappearance/death.
As I said, based on actual experience working with actual cases of actual child abuse, I don't think it's true they'd have been treated differently by the authorities. Whether or not they'd be able to profit off it is a different matter and has nothing to do with the police etc. as far as I can see.
So why do you get people (rightly) prosecuted for leaving their kids in the car and popping into Tesco but they’re allowed to fuck off out for dinner for hours on end? They were definitely treated differently.
There are thousands of missing Children that have not had the time, resources and money spent on them that Madeleine McCann has.
The police dedicate resources based on 'public interest' and I'm not having anyone say that money and class hasn't helped bring that to the table here.
Either you're a cause celebre or you're not, scousers are generally happiest when they are and so it was with the McCanns.
The money spent on it must have been private money.
As for them not facing prosecution, that has to be a class* thing as well. It's inexplicable otherwise. Even by their own version of events they left their children alone, at risk and one one of them disappeared off the back of it. If I did that, I'd face charges and rightly so.
*Or Jimmy is right and being Scouse got them off the hook as the Police didn't want a Jutice for the McCann's movement kicking off.
They had enough money to ge a decent lawyer (presumably, I don't care enough to find out) which makes all the difference you need.
Yeah, they were quite well off well before they started dining out on the charidee money.
And losing your kids abroad ensures you've got foreign coppers buggering it up. Or British coppers disputing the foreign copper evidence.
I'd imagine the fact it was in another country has an impact although I'm not going to claim to be up on how exactly the law works in that regard. I also strongly suspect that in those cases where people are prosecuted for popping into Tesco, there will have already been prior concerns or incidents.
The class issue makes a difference in the press coverage rather than however the authorities approached it, although that could also have influenced that.
Notwithstanding the potential issues about shit going down outside the UK's jurisdiction, is this an apposite example of said class bias?
Not really.
That is grim.
Someone is claiming to be Maddie McCann.
She seems as mad as a bag of cats.
Looks nothing like her :cab:
Time to visit a padded room with no sharp objects
Impressive that they managed to give a scouser a more annoying accent.
