Yes?
Maybe.
Couldn't confirm nor deny.
I can't find the proper thread

Can you play without Facebook?
Nah, it's a Unibet thing where they're giving 500 quid to first place and a bunch of Euro 2016 tickets to others so they've got to get something out of it and they want that juicy, juicy user data.
Let's have some trivia, Sincere.
I'll do one.
A Tottenham player was the last player to do this, in 2000. It has only happened 8 times in history, and 6 of these occasions came in the 1990s. Only one player has done it twice, and only one African has done it. It won't be happening in 2016.
What is it?
Signed into their AOL account.
Nominated for the top three ballon d'or spots?
Wild guess
I dont think that is correct.
Nope. Bump. One of you bored fucks should get this. It's actually a great question, if I say so myself.
If you want a clue, the only African to do it was from Morocco.
Is the Moroccan either Chippo or Hadji?
They never played for tottenham. Mido played for tottenham though. Dont know what he did though.
Tough one.
Is it specific to a league or tournament?
It doesn't specify the Moroccan is the Tottenham player I don't think.
Pardon me.
No idea about this one. Im thinking it may have something to do with the euros coming up, but africans are not even qualified.
To help, all Moroccan players are as follows: Hadji, Chippo, Safri, El-Idrissi, some other lads
Tahar El-Khalej was about in the 90s. He did something remarkable didn't he?
Hmm maybe not.
There was that southampton morrocon with the red boots. He also had time at wolves. Not sure if his name has been mentioned.
I thought about club/country captains but it's a long shot.
Since none of you are anywhere near I'll confirm the Moroccan is Chippo.
I genuinely thought that Chippo was a slightly racist name that Wullie had invented, the scamp that he is.
Is it Olympic Games related?
Score in a world cup, olympic games and premier league?
No.
Next clue: Of the seven people to have done it, Youssef Chippo is by far the most unlikely person to have done it.
Scoring against someone in particular? He only got a few.
A tad warmer. Not overly so.
Six of the seven would have grown up dreaming about achieving this feat. Not Chippo.
I would have said signing for Coventry, but Chippo definitely grew up watching the donkey kick and the brown kit.
Playing alongside Paul Telfer?
This is going to take a while, isn't it.
Since the match when this was last achieved, in 2000, there have only been two further matches when it could have been achieved, but wasn't. The earliest it could theoretically next happen is 2018.
I'm looking through the Tottenham squad trying to think. It's a very unremarkable group of players.
Scored on the 29th February.
Not exactly the stuff of dreams.
Thought same as phonics but don't think chippo played a game on that day
Is it scoring the winner against the current Champions League holders?
No.
Two of the seven people to have achieved this are cousins.
So is Les Ferdinand the Spurs player from 2000?
He is not.
I'll spell out the seven:
Youssef Chippo
Cousin 1
Cousin 2
Someone who did it twice
Someone who played for Spurs when they achieved it in 2000
Person 6
Person 7
Person 7 you will not have heard of, but it doesn't really matter in the context of the question.
Balls.
Scored for Norway at a major tournament?
Shite.
Chippo scored an own goal against Norway in France '98, and that's pretty much how far I got as I can't seem to link that to a Spurs player from the year of our lord 2000.
edit: Too slow and shit with my googling
I was looking at Steffen Iversen and Euro 2000 but never thought Norway was the specific link. Arse.
That was a beauty of a question, good work.
Friday afternoon edition.
There is a link shared by this set of clubs. Can you name the link, and the four missing clubs?
(ENG)
(ESP)
(ESP)
(FRA) Marseille
(FRA) Monaco
(FRA) Nantes
(ITA)
There is also a debatable 'bonus' answer but I won't reveal the country of that club.
Won a league title in every decade. So in the 50s, 60s, 70s, etc?
Last winners of some old cups like the Anglo-Italian one.
edit: Or the first winners of new competitions as Marseille were the ones to win the new Champions league.
No, but the latter competition is relevant.
It could be the first winners as Marseille won the first league 1 title as well as the first new UCL, Nantes the first League cup meaning that Monaco have probably won something first too, but as it isn't the French cup I can't think of what it would be.
The existence of a 'bonus answer' would suggest that those clubs are the only ones who've done whatever it is that links them, so being the first winners of things is probably out.
I was thinking along the lines of European clubs for whom the World Cup winning captain was playing at the time, or clubs formed as an amalgam of other clubs, but the Champion's League being in any way relevant has killed both of those notions.
Marseille were relegated the year after they won the Champion's League, if that knocks anything loose for anyone.
If UCL is relevant, maybe getting through the group stage on first go?
edit: There must be more teams that have done that though.
Won the chnapiobs league but they got relegated?
It's something to do with match-fixing no?
Sincere is closest, but not quite there.
Monaco were relegated after having been in the final, Juventus were relegated not long after that one they lost to Milan, and Marseille obviously fit the bill there too.
Have Nantes ever played in a European final?
Yep.
Won a European Cup and then not given the right to defend it?
Juventus is the Italian club, but you're still not spot on with the link - 2x Spanish and an English club also fit.
They had won some tinpot competition that no longer exists in the eighties. I was looking to had they won anything when I thought it would've been the first winners of something.
edit: Re: Nantes
Could it be going down after winning the domestic league? That would fit at least Marseille, Juventus and Atletico I think.
Aston Villa have won a European Cup and have been relegated.
But then so have Nottingham Forest.
Just spitballing here.
English teams that have won the European Cup:
Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest
English teams that have played in a European Cup Final:
Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Arsenal, Leeds
Leeds have played in a Final and been relegated.
Again, just throwing things around.
Edit: Leeds won the league and went to the Final in '74 and then finished 9th the next year.
I'll go with Leeds, the link being going to the Final, losing, and failing to qualify for the tournament the next year.
Edit2: I'd also throw in Atletico Madrid as one of the Spanish teams then (going to european cup final and failing to qualify the next season)
Edit3: and I'll say Barcelona for the other, and if not them than Real.
If the 'debatable' answer is Rangers and you, Floyd, are allowing some 'NewCo' wank to sneak in here I'm revoking your Blues Brothers membership.
You're all very close and the debatable answer IS Rangers, but not for that reason.
Leeds is the English team but not for that reason. Barcelona and Atletico are wrong.
Damnit to hell. Thanks Jimmy.
Edit:
(ENG) Leeds
(ESP)
(ESP)
(FRA) Marseille
(FRA) Monaco
(FRA) Nantes
(ITA) Juventus
I know Deportivo has played in the CL .. hmm. Sevilla... . Valencia have been.
Oooh what about Malaga? Didn't they qualify and then get relegated? I know that's not the exact link but it seems to be on the right path.
Edit: ooooh! How about teams that have qualified for the Champions League within 5 seasons of being promoted to their country's top division?
edit2: No, cause then Leicester City would also qualify. FUCK.
Sides who have gone to European finals on goal difference wins, with Rangers being debatable because they should have gone in place of the cheating shits Marseille?
EDIT - Nope. Monaco fucked Chelsea to get there and there must be plenty more than that who've gone through on goal difference.
Unless 'cup of the Alps' counts that rules out Nantes.
Did they beat the holders and then fail to qualify the next year?
edit: You can ignore me I'm just throwing shit against the wall at this point.
Can you name the 12 different players who have got at least 10 goals and 10 assists in the league from the premier league, bundlesliga, ligue 1, la liga and serie a from the 2015/2016 season?
Mahrez has to be one
Ronaldo.
Bale?
EDIT: Wait, La Liga isn't in it.
Ibrahimovic
Pjanic
Muller
Payet, Dele Alli?
Messi. Suarez.
Neymar
Griezmann
Douglas Costa
Reus
?
Did we ever get to the bottom of Jimmy's question? I really want to know now. :D
I'd like to know the answer to that too.
I fucking hated that question Floyd asked. Wasted an hour trying to figure it out.
For Sincere's question: Morata or Dybala for Serie A, Di Maria for Ligue 1 and Aduriz or Alcacer for La Liga.
It's Nantes that's throwing me. They've barely played in Europe. They had a couple of years in the early 2000's, when they won the French Cup and League in consecutive years.
Assuming that list is chronological, it's a bit of a weird one. That or a domestic one, but it seems weird that a domestic question would be such a closed group.
Abyemang must be one of the Bundesliga boys.
edit: Hernandez or Bellarabi could be the other one.
edit2: If Abyemang didn't get ten assists, Micky Ryan probably did.
Is Rangers being a bonus answer anything to do with the 1972 Super Cup win being listed as "unofficial"?
Higuain or hamsik for the Napoli player. No idea about the Mönchen Gladbach one.
Higuain, Hamsik or Insigne for Serie A?
I'll put you all out of your misery. They are all Champions League (since the competition took up that name in 92/93) semi-finalists who were then subsequently relegated. So the Spanish clubs were Deportivo and Villarreal.
Rangers is a bonus answer because in 92/93 they finished high enough to be classed in the top 4 of that year's Champions League, but there weren't actually any semi-finals in that season.
Last one was Raffael from Borussia M.Gladbach
40 G - 16 A - Luis Suárez - Barcelona
38 G - 13 A - Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Paris Saint Germain
35 G - 11 A - Cristiano Ronaldo - Real Madrid
26 G - 16 A - Lionel Messi - Barcelona
24 G - 12 A - Neymar - Barcelona
19 G - 10 A - Gareth Bake - Real Madrid
17 G - 11 A - Riyad Mahrez - Leicester
13 G - 10 A - Raffael - Borussia M.Gladbach
12 G - 10 A - Lorenzo Insigne - Napoli
11 G - 15 A - Henrikh Mkhitaryan - Bourssia Dortmund
10 G - 18 A - Ángel Di María - Paris Saint Germain
10 G - 12 A - Miralem Pjanic - Roma
Good question jimmy
Raymond Kopa
Eusebio
Toto Schillachi
Robin van Persie
What do they have in common? There are two other significantly less famous players in the list as well, who are omitted so as not to give it away.
Top scored at their only World Cup? Davor Suker might be another if so.
EDIT: Wrong, don't think Robin did so.
Penalty scorers in the third place match
Bingo.
Now that all the squads have been official announced, there are a total of five players who during the tournament, could reach or pass 100 caps for their country if they play. Can you name them?
As the maximum amount of games to play is 7, name the players who have between 93 and 99 caps.
De Rossi's got to be around that kind of mark.
Aaron Hughes for Northern Ireland.
Iniesta
Pique
Spain
Porutgal
Russia
Czech Republic
Teams of the players remaining.
Torres, Fabregas, Busquets?
Cech
Berezutskiy, Akinfeev, Dzagoev, Kerzhakov
It'll be Rosicky or Plasil, I guess.
Spain - David Silva?
Portugal - Nani?
Czech Rep - Pretty sure Rosicky and Cech all have over a hundred caps and can't think of anyone else of their generation still there that might be just short, so perhaps one of them is below?
I don't think Berezutski will make it to 100 at Euro 2016.
Stranger things and all that... Trianos Dellas has a winners medal to go with his Sheffield United memorabilia.
There are a total of 552 players that have been called up to euro 2016. Can you name:
Every team who has 8 or more players at the tournament from the premier league, la liga, bundesliga and serie a
Every player from each of the teams
Do you mean 8 or more from all of those leagues combined or 8 or more from each league?
8 or more from each league. There are 9 teams in total that have 8 or more players at this years euro
Barcelona - Iniesta, Busquets, Pique, Alba, Bartra, Turan, Rakitic and I can't think of another but there surely must be one. Mathieu?
On first count I don't think Chelsea have more than six.
Totteringham Hotsplur: Dier, Alli, Walker, Chadli, Vertonghen, Davies, erm, Kane, Rose... Lloris.
Liverpool: Sturridge, Milner, Clyne, Henderson, Lallana, Lovren, Benteke, Mignolet, Origi, Can, Skrtel
Juventus: Buffon, Evra, Chiellini, Bonucci, Barzagli, Lichtsteiner, Pogba, Zaza, Mandzukic, has Khedira been picked? And Morata too.
Going back to the last question and me guessing Russian players, CSKA Moscow must have quite a few - both Berezutskys, Ignashevich, Akinfeev, Wernbloom, a few other Russians? Shakhtar as well, but I can't think of any beyond Srna.
Oh, I misunderstood. I thought it was like England have 8 or more from the Premiership etc. I see now.
Juventus and Liverpool have the most players going with 12 each.
Quote:
Going back to the last question and me guessing Russian players, CSKA Moscow must have quite a few - both Berezutskys, Ignashevich, Akinfeev, Wernbloom, a few other Russians? Shakhtar as well, but I can't think of any beyond Srna.
Akinfeev is the next highest russian with 86 caps. CSKA Moscow have 8 players going to the tournament but they are not in the premier league, bundesliga, la liga or serie a so they dont qualify. I deliberately left them out.
United:
De Gea, Smalling, Fellaini, Rooney, Martial, Rashford, Schweinsteiger, McNair
Bayern:
Neuer, Muller, Gotze, Coman, Alaba, Boateng, Lewandowski, Renato Sanches
Bernat to add to Bayern?
Darmian for United
Roma: Shezz, Florenzi, Digne, Rudiger, Pjanic, Nainggolan, Dzeko, El Shara...
Schneiderlin got a late call up for France iirc
Arsenal:
Cech, Bellerin, Ramsey, Ozil, Giroud, Koscielny, Wilshere, xhaka and Rosicky
Kimmich for Bayern
or Hummels
Hummels isnt on my list as he is still technically a dortmund player but you can have him
Missing players below
1x Juventus
1x Man Utd
1x Bayern Munich
2x Barcelona
2x Roma
2x Liverpool
3x Tottenham
8x ?

Wasn't sure about Pjanic and Dzeko but just guessed Bosnia qualified with those two.
Is the other club Napoli?
Atletico, maybe?
Oblak, Juanfran, Gabi, Koké, Niguez, Griezmann, Carrasco is seven, but I can't think of any more and I'm not sure all three from Gabi, Koké and Niguez got called up.
Dembele and Alderweireld for Spurs. Chadli missed the cut, I think.
I think just Koke did of those three.
Villarreal will have a few but not eight. Quite tricky this last club.
Everton? Stones, Coleman, Barkley, Gibson, Mirallas, Lukaku...
1x Juventus
1x Man Utd
1x Bayern Munich
1x Roma
1x Liverpool
1x Tottenham
2x Barcelona
8x ?
Real Madrid, surely. Bale, Ronaldo, Kroos, Pepe, Ramos, Modric, Carvajal, and that winger kid whose name eludes me.
Danny Ward or Adam Bogdan for Liverpool's one. And Kevin Wimmer for Spurs.
Struggling with the others. I've went through all of the Man Utd players I can think of and I haven't a clue.
Jese and Isco for RM.
They were both cut were they not? Lucas Vasquez was the kid I was thinking of earlier.
Ah yeah, it was him, not Jese.
I would have thought Isco would make it but can't remember, they have roughly 19 of the best 20 midfielders in the world.
ter Stegen for Barcelona/Germany.
Vermaelen the other Barcelona.
Has Kovacic been said yet?
Thiago for the Bayern one?
I googled the remaining two, and the Juve one is someone one might get, there's no chance anyone gets the Roma one without help.
Is the Roma one the striker Ponce? I don't know if he's European...
The Roma player I've never even heard of.
Zukanovic? (sp)
Not even close. The name sounds more Hungarian than Slovakian.
If it's a Slovakian it's that shit defender.
Is Lichsteiner the Slovakian guy? He's at Juve, I think
Lichtsteiner is Swiss.
Missing players were Stefano Sturaro from jvuentus and Norbert Gyömbér the Slovakian. He is on loan from catania but he appeaered four times in the league for roma last season.
Half a point to me for the shit Slovakian defender.
I was thinking earlier if Ronaldo could become the first player to score in four different Euro Championships and stumbled upon the list of players who have done i t in three. Ronaldo is one, but can you name me the 5 others (one of the in this tournament too) who have done it?
Wazza?
Klose? Raul?
Bergkamp definitely - he scored against Scotland in back to back Euro's (92 & 96) and I'm sure he appeared at 2000 too.
Kluivert - 96, 00, 04?
Henry - 2000 final I think? 04, 08 surely?
Nuno Gomes - didn't he just shit it up for two years between scoring at international tournaments?
Klose - see above, but shitting it up with clubs to a lesser extent and donning it in tournaments to a greater extent...
Was Trezeguet and Wiltard in that 2000 final, wasn't it?
I've no idea on Waz the Spaz. He's just been around for ages and has scored in at least 1.
It was actually yeah... But he must've had one at some point in those Euro's?
Henry and Nuno Gomes are both correct. Same years for them too 2000-2008. All others are wrong. Maybe Klose missed a tournament due to injury or something as you'd think he would've done it otherwise.
Ibrahimovic. Shearer?
No Englismen on the list at all unfortunately. Zlatan is the other current player and he has the chance to better his record of scoring at least two in 3 different tournaments.
Three more to go as it was Ronaldo and six others. One of them should be easy enough, but it gets a bit tricky after that.
Inzaghi?
Nope, not him either.
Zidane must have done a few.
Klinsmann?
Platini?
Only one EURO winner left and it isn't Zidane. I think all three have played in England during their careers.
edit: Klinsmann is correct 88-96. There's another Spurs great in the remaining two :D
Is it someone annoying like Milan Baros?
Played in England? Djorkaeff?
Well it's not Baros, but the Spurs player is known for never being that good. Baros shares some career similarities with the other one as well as a nationality.
Schweinstieger?
Smicer?
Helder Postiga?
Smicer 96-2004 is the Czech and now all we are missing is a relatively shit former Spurs striker.
edit: Yay, Postiga is the last one.
Zlatan
Well there's hundreds of those.
Raoul got it. It's Postiga. latan was already said and correct Sincere.

Yep, no, Yep.
Milner will be the 16yr old.
Teddy Sherringham's got to be the 40.
Lampard has to be in there for the old-timers. He was still scoring pretty well until later on, no?
Shearer must be about five of them, Fowler was pretty prolific in his late teens/early 20's.
Sheringham for everything past 35 surely.
Kevin Phillips at whichever age he was when he had that bonkers season. Late twenties I reckon, I'll say twenty eight.
29, 30 Ruud.
32, 34 Lampard.
Andy Cole. 22. Phillips might be 29.
Did Mark Hughes pop a few in at 38?
And how old was Ronaldo in his stupid season?
I should actually make a guess for Fowler, I'll go for 19, 20, and 21.

I just noticed I told Offy he was correct on all the for Shearer but he wasnt. 26 was wrong, it was actually 23 but I am going to leave it up there anyway. 8 to get. 1 is a duplicate.
Some clues if you fancy them. Only a clue to their name though not the age.
Toggle Spoiler
Henry, Zola, and Ian Wright are all in there then.
Hasselbaink, Les Ferdinand (?) and Drogba (could be Nigel Reo-Coker too I guess, the hero) too.
Not sure who the little man is.
Craig Bellamy never scored that many.
I'm bored at home this afternoon so we're doing this.
Peter Crouch got his 100th Premier League goal this week, there are 25 other players who have at least that many. Below is a list of the positions, the amount they scored and (in brackets) the number of clubs they scored them for. Crouch you can have for free, name the rest and their clubs.

19. Sheringham - Man Utd, Spurs, West Ham
Edit- oh. Maybe 17 then. He may have only played for WH in the Championship.
He has more clubs and more goals than that.
Ian Wright for Arsenal and West Ham, but I'm not sure how many he bagged/notched/struck/fired home before football began in 1992 so dunno the position. Probably the 113, on balance.
I'm gonna take a punt and say Ian Wright, with Arsenal and West Ham.
He might not have made it as he scored a few before the PL, but we'll see.
No one seems to have said Thierry Onree for number five.
Wright, Sheringham (two clubs to go for him), and Henry in.

Teddy also for Portsmouth and, erm, Fulham? Or Reading.

One of the sixers will be some no mark journeyman like Darren Bent.
Owen's teams: Liverpool, Newcastle, Man United, Stoke (lol)
Teddy Sheringham played for Forest didn't he? Is that his missing team?
Yup
Anelka for Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, City, Notlob, and the East Bromwich Albion.
Crouch: Southampton, Portsmouth, Liverpool, Stoke, QPR and Villa? Not necessarily in that order.
Anelka with Arsenal, Chelsea, Bolton, Man City and two other teams I can't remember

Name the eight Russians to have played in the Premier League.
Arshavin, Kanchelskis, Pogrebnyak, Pavlychenko, Zhirkov
Kharine and that one for Everton
Smertin.
Bilyaletdinov. Alright then, let's try a tougher one on the other side of the Cold War divide. 39 Americans to have played in the Premier League.
Friedel
Howard
Keller
McBride
Dempsey
Yedlin
Altidore
There can't have been 39 surely??
Jonathan Spector
Brian McBride
Roy Wegerle
John Harkes
Clint Dempsey
Landon Donovan
Brad Friedel
Tim Howard
Kasey Keller
Joe Max Moore

Marcus Hahnemann
Eric Lichaj
Brad Guzan
DaMarcus (lol) Beasley
Brad Guzan
Roy Wegerle
Eddie Johnson
Jeff Cameron
Damarcus Beasley
Jermaine Jones
Stuart Holden
Jay DeMerit
I'm sure Chelsea have some American youngster on their books, but I can't remember his name at all. Perhaps someone else can.
Brek (lol) Shea
Claudio Reyna
Demerit, Shea, Reyna = 23/39
Carlos Bocanegra?
Miazga and Bocanegra = 25 down, 14 to go
Michael Bradley
Eddie Lewis (I've got a feeling I might have made that up)
Did Tim Ream every get a game on the prem?
Eddie Johnson?
Cameron Carter-Vickers played in the league yet?
Zak Whitbread for ... I want to say Norwich.
Who was the guy who signed for United, never played and ended up winning the Champions League with Dortmund?
We must be down to a load of no marks who played three games for Derby in 1998.
DeShaun Tyrone Williams II
Paul Rachubka?
Maurice Edu?
1. midfielder - had a more notable spell in Scotland
2. lengthy spell with one club - still playing in MLS
3. total nonentity from the turn of the century
4. the only current PL player remaining on the list
5. lump, better known for his national team efforts
6. mid-90s goalkeeper
7. disappointing midlands midfield man
8. apparently grew up at United though you could have fooled me
9. played 5 PL minutes and I've never heard of him
10. I have heard of this guy but I think he played in the PL under a different name
Does Paul Rachubka count or didn't he play for them in then? Same for Rossi but certainly chose Italy instead
Maurice Edu is 1.
Jovan Kirovski. Loved him down the Blues.
Oh fuck you , Jimmy.
We also had a kid at Birmingham called Will Packwood. Not sure if he actually managed to play for the United States though.
Did we get Onyewu?
Not until now. He was 5. 7 left
2. lengthy spell with one club - still playing in MLS
3. total nonentity from the turn of the century
4. the only current PL player remaining on the list
6. mid-90s goalkeeper
7. disappointing midlands midfield man
9. played 5 PL minutes and I've never heard of him

Is 6 Sommer? QPR, can't remember his first name.
Bradley.
DaBradley.
Never let it be said that I don't remember a load of useless bullshit from the 90's.
Kid at Sunderland. Gooch.
Gooch correct.
2. lengthy spell with Reading - still playing in MLS
3. total nonentity from the turn of the century at West Ham
7. disappointing midlands midfield man for one season at Derby
9. played 5 PL minutes and I've never heard of him and he sounds like a really racist blend of all your least favourite South Africans, although in reality he's black
10. I have heard of this guy but I think he played in the PL under a different name which was fucking long and presumably the yanks couldn't deal with it so they gave him a much shorter one
Marcus Hanneman
10 is Preki.
Derby guy has a German sounding name I'm sure. Dunno though
He does. Played under Billy 'straight as a die' Davies.
Reading player is Bobby Convey.
Someone answer the last few so we can move on.
Last three are Ian Feuer, Benny Feilhaber and Johann Smith. Memories.
Who are the most expensive footballers of all time for each age, from 14 to 37?
The most expensive 40 year old is Bogdan Stellea who moved from Unirea Urziceni to FC Brasov for Ł80,000 in 2005 and 38 is Marko Simeunovic's Ł765k move to NK Interblock Ljubljana. I thought I'd taken those out of the equation. Wafflez might get 39 if he's not busy seshing.
Rooney 18 - 30m
Martial 19 - 50odd or whatever it was
Pogba 23 - 90m
Pennant 2m at erm 15?

The 14 year old is some lad Liverpool bought years ago. What happened to him? He must be in his 20s by now.
31 is Batigol
36 is David James
33 is Bravo
31 - Luca Toni?
EDIT: lol.
Odegaard for 16?
34 is Thuram, not 35
35 is Ze Roberto?
And is Pato 17? Although as I recall he only actually went when he turned 18.
Ze Roberto yep. Odegaard nope.
Pato is right. Lol at him being a Chelsea player a year ago.
I saw this football365 article so for once I'm seeing one of these and not floundering for half an answer
Bale 25 - 86m
Ronaldo, I think at, 24 (signed for United at 18 and left 6 years later) 80m
Neymar, Suarez, Di Maria, maybe Zidane too.

36 - David James for Ł1.45 million from Man City to Portsmouth
37 - Ł2.13 million
22 might be Stones
28 - Higuain?
32 is killing me. It's bound to be one of the shit players that City overpaid for when they first got their Arab cash.
32 Wayne Bridge? I don't think he was that old though...
25 Tevez to Man Utd?
We didn't buy Tevez.
37 - Friedel? I'm pretty sure Villa paid a couple of million for him.
14 - Sheyi Ojo for Ł2.13 million from MK Dons to Liverpool

36 - David James for Ł1.45 million from Man City to Portsmouth
37 - Brad Friedel for Ł2.13 million from Blackburn to Aston Villa
I think the 32 year old is Shay Given - he left us for Man City and he's about 40 now, so SVN's shout about it being when they first got cash would be right too.
Shay Given it is.
18 must be Shaw
20 must be easy, there can't be many that young that have transferred for Ł50m+.
Sterling?
Let's have Bale in there too, 24 or 25.
14 - Sheyi Ojo for Ł2.13 million from MK Dons to Liverpool
15 - Ł2.72 million from Barcelona to Arsenal in 2005

37 - Brad Friedel for Ł2.13 million from Blackburn to Aston Villa
15 will be that Spanish lad that lasted about half an hour.
I'm amazed no-ones got the 30 year old yet.
25 is recent and 24 is some Welsh bloke.
Etoo for the Inter one?
Nope
Zlatan?
You're somehow getting further away.
How curious. My source has it as Eto'o, looked up the football365 one and it agrees for every other age, but has a different inter player for 30. Both similar price tags.
Who else have they sold for that much? I can only think of Balotelli and Kovacic but they;re both far too young. Is it going to be Dino Baggio form 1998 as part of a money laundering effort?
Think very briefly rich Russian team.
Hang on, you got that one.
Think Champions League final scorer.
Hang on once more. Inter signing, not sale. I blame phonics.
:D For fucks sake
24 Bale
25 De Bruyne
30 Crespo
Milito for the Inter signing.
Oscar to China?
Fran Merida is the Arsenal player.
That's the chap, they like them young in that North London they do. Have any of them worked? Walcott I suppose.
Fabregas?
This player has done the following:
1. Played at two World Cups
2. Gone to a World Cup, and won the continental championship (i.e. Euros, Copa America, Afcon etc)
3. Gone to a World Cup
4. Played in the continental championship
5. Played at an Olympic Games
Each of the above numbers has taken place on a different continent.
He's also played in the Premier League.
Who is the player?
Almost Dunga.... but he played in 3 World Cups.... I'm guessing they managed in South America or Europe?
Tim Cahill?
Tim Cahill hasn't been to enough World Cups and the continents don't quite stack up, but it's a decent guess.
The continental championship being played on two separate continents seems the biggest thing, but then saying played for some and gone to others has thrown me off.
Rafael Marquez?
Marquez.
The third clue must mean he played at the South Africa world cup.
Hasn't played in the premier league has he ffs.
This is hard
Hierro?
Nah, no Africa there is there.
Yakubu?
1. world cups 98 and 06
2. 02 world cup and AFC cup winner with Australia last year
3. '10 world cup
4. OFC runner up with Australia?
5. Brazil Olympics
Mark Bresciano?
Unless it's someone who's been to the gold cup, a copa America and the 2000 olympics that's my best guess.
I'll check Mark Bresciano but it's not the player I have in mind.
Everything on the list is as a player, btw.
EDIT: Bresciano not played PL for a start.
I should also say you're not a million miles away with the logical process.
I've had it pegged as either an Australian or American, but if it is I can't think of anyone who fits the bill completely.
It's not an Australian or an American.
A clue: one of the World Cups was in his home country.
Actually I made a slight bork. He hasn't played in the Premier League, but he has played in the Championship.
Kawaguchi?
Bingo.
98 and 06 World Cups in Europe
02 World Cup in Japan (didn't play) and Asian Cup winner 2004
10 World Cup in South Africa (didn't play)
1999 Copa America in Paraguay
Atlanta Olympics
And an ill fated stint with Portsmouth which I seem to have misremembered as being in the top flight.
Not a chance I was getting that. :moop:
Same. I hate it when I spend ages trying to figure one out only to find out that I'd have never got it in a million years.
I thought more people would know him, or at least clock the Japan/Copa America thing and get it from there.
It was the home nation World Cup clue that made the lightbulb go off for me, it left just Japan and South Korea as options.
Here's one for Jimmy, which six players have scored Premier League hat-tricks against Chelsea?
Kanu has scored his six times in my nightmares.
Can't think of any others at the moment, Tevez?
Aguero got one last year
Patrik Berger.
Oh, don't tell me, Steven Naismith.
1:
2: Berger
3: Kanu
4:
5: Naismith
6: Aguero
Viduka? I don't know why I think that.
Did Fowler get one when we bummed them 5-1 (back when there was an amicable arrangement for neither side to bother at the opponent's ground)?
Both wrong.
1: Did it in a similar colour shirt to no.6
2: Berger
3: Kanu
4: Scored his for the same club as another player on the list
5: Naismith
6: Aguero
They also appear to be in date order too but I'm not 100% on that.
1 - Coventry player - Ndlovu/Huckerby/Dublin
4 - Van Persie
Oh yeah, Dublin in that game when we had to borrow their kit.
I'm not sure I understand the question correctly, but is it Deschamps?
Won the things listed with France, played for Chelsea briefly and has since gone to a World cup as a manager?
edit: New page and all. Didn't get the question right anyway.
Get with the program, MATE
The Dublin hat-trick was the first game of whichever season, I remember it was the hottest day in history and I burned my legs on the seat, but on the upside I saw myself on the highlights on telly.
Desailly's debut. We were tipped as league winners for some unknown reason.
The main reason I wanted to go was to see either Gullit or Vialli in person, and whichever one it was didn't even come off the bench. Load of arse.
Didn't Dublin get a hat trick for Villa on the first game of the season at some point?
He got a hat-trick on his first or second game for Villa I reckon, but he transferred mid season.
I can remember that based on vague memories of schoolyard chatter at the age of 10-11 but I can't remember what happened last week.
He scored 9 goals in 4 games or something mental when he first went there. I always liked Dublin for some reason. I sat next to him on a train once, too. But totally bottled it and pretended I didn't know who he was.
Staying on the subject of hat-tricks, 34 players have scored three or more since football was invented in 1992, the numbers below correspond to how many each player got.

Do you want the numbers as well, or just the player name?
Dublin got at least two for us, so he's on there.
Lukaku must have three by now.
Berbatov scored one whenever he turned up or was playing Wigan it felt like, must have got three or four.
Schurrle got a disproportionate amount of them I'm sure.
You can guess the numbers too for extra internet credit if you like

Couple of random guesses:
Bellamy
Ronaldo
Giroud
Ian Wright
Bent
Just guesses too, but maybe James Beattie or John Hartson.
edit: Or if not them, maybe Adebayor or that Portsmouth/City Zimbabwean Benjani.
No to both.
Two are retired and would have scored theirs in the 90's.
The other scored for four different PL sides but currently plays elsewhere in Europe. He got his hat-tricks for his first British club, two of them against the same team in successive years. This one was Pens cheeky edit
Heskey
Crouch
Cantona
Nope.
11 - Alan Shearer

The last two are long retired, British, and would have scored theirs in the 90's.
Bergkamp
Marcus Bent
Nope.
Both are British.
Mark Hughes for one of the 90s players.
Chris Sutton
Mark Hughes
Steve Claridge
Sutton is one.
The other spent a year playing in Malaysia between stints in the Premier League.
Cottee
Yup, I reckon him and Claridge would have both been at Leicester in something like 98.

Name the player who has scored the most premier league goals for the 20 clubs currently in the top flight and name the player who is at the club right now and nearest to it. If the current top scorer is at the club then who is next after them.
Example:
Alan Shearer has 148 league goals for Newcatle and is their premier league top scorer. Of the players currently at the club Perez would be next with 13 goals.
Rooney, Mata
Drogba, Hazard
Gerrard, Sturridge
Henry, Giroud
Les Ferdinand, Kane
That's a good one.
Liverpool - Fowler, Sturridge
Southampton - Mat Le Tis, Shane Long
Sunderland - Philips, Defoe
West Ham - Harewood?, Noble
United - Rooney, Zlatan or Martial (if it's not Mata)
Chelsea - Lampard, Hazard
Hull - Bullard, Hernandez?
Burnley - Ings, Gray?
Swansea - Bony, Sigurdsson?
Stoke - Crouch, Walters or Adam
Everton - Ferguson, Lukaku
Man City - Aguero, Tevez or Dzeko
Swansea - Sigurdsson, Sigurdsson
Boro - Ravanelli, Negredo
West Brom....not a clue. Peter Odemwingie? Current I'd guess Chrissy Brunt.
Also, Tottenham will be Sheringham rather than Ferdinand.
Think I got them all

Vardy must be one or other for Leicester.
Di Canio for West Ham.
Andy Johnson for Palace.
Tadic for Southampton.
So if Vardy is their highest ever scorer Mahrez must be next. :sherlock:
Toure - City
Rodriguez - Southampton
Rondon - WBA
Gray - Burnley

Deeney for Watford.
Morrison - WBA

Hull - Gervinho?
Bournemouth - King and Wilson?
Ashley Barnes for Burnley
Armstrong for Palace?
Or Andy 'Andrew' Johnson.
Tried him already. Not sure who would be the current one though. Benteke got many yet, Puncheon maybe?
Probably Scott Dann.
Puncheon has got about 65 just against Chelsea. Must be him.

The 400th goal by an Italian in the Premier League was scored recently - name all of the 42 Italians to have scored in the Premier League.
I think we might've done this one on the old board, but we'll go again because it's Saturday.
Benito Carbone
Gianluca Vialli
Gianfranco Zola
Paolo Di Canio
Roberto di Matteo
Fabrizio Ravanelli
That should cover the 90s.
42 goal scorers seems like a lot. I wouldn't have said that there has been a huge number of Italians over here.
Gianluca Festa
Corrado Grabbi
Bernardo Corradi
Manolo Gabbiadini
Samuele Dalla Bona
Mario Balotelli
Graziano Pelle
Fabio Borini
Alessandro Pistone
Silenzi? Or did he ever score?
Lorenzo Amoruso
Emanuele Giaccherini
Pierluigi Casiraghi
Marco Materazzi
Stefano Okaka
Didn't Mannone get one? Or was it another keeper who scored into him?
Francesco Baiano
Vincenzo Montella
22/42.
No goalkeepers on the list, @Adamski.
Andrea Dossena
Gianluca Festa
Don't think Roberto Mancini bagged in his short spell for us but I'll mention anyway
Stefano Eranio or whatever he was called at Derby
I don't think Gabriele Ambrosetti notched in the FA Carling Premiership alas.
Has anyone said Lombardo?
DId Panucci bag for The Pensioners?
Dossena, Eranio and Lombardo are correct.
No to Mancini, Ambrosetti and Panucci, and Jimmy already has Festa, Max.
17 to go.
Alberto Aquilani
Angelo Ogbonna
Zaza
Darmian? He's scored but not sure it was in the league.
Diamanti
Davide Santon
Pierlugi Casiraghi
Yes x2 (Max already got Casaraghi). 13 to go.
I'll put a list together when we've got ten left with the teams the leftover ones played for.
Gabiadinni, the new chap at West Ham?
Nicola Berti.
Jimmy got Gabbiadini earlier, but Nicola Berti is correct.
12 to go.
Dino Baggio at Blackburn?
Rossi got one for us
Marco Di Vaio?
Cambiasso had an Italian passport :henn0rz:
Ventola
Did Osvaldo score in his disastrous spell?
Yeah Osvaldo scored a worldie against Man City I remember.
Watford centre back Angella defo scored in the Championship dunno about the PL
Baggio is correct, as are SVN's three.
Di Vaio hasn't played in the Premier League, and Angella isn't on the list.
Eight to go...
What was your man called who scored for United. Macheda?
Manchester City in the 2000s
Middlesbrough in the 1990s
West Ham in the late 2000s/early 2010s
Middlesbrough in the 2000s
Blackburn in the 1990s
Swansea in the 2010s
Sheffield Wednesday in the 1990s
For the other seven.
Benito Carbone?
He was the first correct answer, Shin :D
Maccarone for Middlesbrough?
Alberto Paloschi
Both correct.
Five to go.
Have we had Corradi for Man City?
Has anyone said Lombardo?
Yup.
Corradi and Lombardo have both been said, yeah. About to post the full list of correct answers, bar the five we haven't got...

Nocerino at West Ham?
Nope, not him... Apparently the person on the list played for them in 2008-2009. I was convinced it was more 2010 or 2011, but there you go.
Di Mechele (sp)
Bingo.
Four remain.
Rolando Bianchi.
Well done @Guybrush.
Three to go, I've only actually heard of one of them.
Man City, Man United, Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool each have one of these players in their current squad. Chelsea have two. Spurs have none.
I was going to say World Cup winners, but, in finding out, I've just been confronted with a picture of Juan Mata without his beard, and now I don't like football anymore.
Infuriating question. I've tried all sorts of things. Thought I had it with former Bolton players, but no.
First thought was Golden Boy winners, but that would skew heavily towards the Manchester clubs. It'll be something daft like players named Danny.
Players over a certain height? Say six four?
Kompany, Zlatan, Mertesacker, Joel, Courtois, Matic. Falls down on Liverpool. :moop:
United also have Fellaini
Played in Champions League finals with other clubs?
United have Mata and Pogba.
Everton don't have anyone, do they?
I thought Deolefeu (or whatever) might have snuck in somehow. Forgot Mata was still at Chelsea back then.
Deulofeu is at Milan.
Players with brothers who also play football? United have Pogba, Chelsea have Hazard and Batshuayi, Everton have Lukaku, City have Toure, Arsenal have Xhaka, and Liverpool must have someone.
EDIT - Can't be it. Matip has a brother and I know from FM that Lovren has one too.
I reckon that's it.
Players with internationals in their immediate family?
Man City - Kolo Toure
Man Utd - Mathias Pogba
Arsenal - Taulent Xhaka
Everton - Jordan Lukaku
Liverpool - Mike Origi
Chelsea - Thorgan Hazard, Marcos Alonso Pena
EDIT: Matip ruins that, unless there's another Chelsea player with an international brother?
Could it be La Masia alumni?
Chelsea: Fabregas / Pedro
Arsenal: Bellerin
Everton: Deulofeu
Not sure on the other three mind.
One of you got close.
Footballing dads?
Not family related.
Won the Champions League with another club?
Liverpool - Sturridge
United - Mata
City - Toure
Chelsea - Pedro / ?
Arsenal - Cech
Everton - ?
Maybe not.
Copa America winners?
Nope and nope.
I'm not going to do the whole league, but Southampton have two and Hull have none.
Players whose national team have 3 vowels or less in when spelt in anglicised Thai.
If this is shit I'm going to be fuming.
Who got close, if it doesn't give it away too much?
I think it's gettable.
Four of the players had this happen in 2014, one in 2011, one in 2013 and one in 2015.
Players whose former clubs won the title the season after they left?
Nope.
There is a red herring in there, by the way.
UEFA team of the year members?
Nah, colder.
I can PM the answer if anyone wants. Maybe it's trickier than I thought.
Players who have been sold by Pep Guardiola?
Romeu/Hojbjerg at Southampton
Touré at City
Fabregas and dunno at Chelsea
Very warm indeed.
Danny Dichio?
Sold by former managers and now being managed by said managers?
Nope. Bit of not seeing the wood for the trees going on.
Mata and Romeu are two of the players.
Former Chelsea players?
United - Mata
Liverpool - Sturridge
Arsenal - Cech
Chelsea - Matic, Luiz
Everton - Lukaku
City - De Bruyne
I'm annoyed I didn't get this earlier, as I thought it was players that have been sold and re-signed (thought Pogba would be the United one).
Here's one. Jimmy's favourite stat.
Name the top 20 assist makers in the Premier League era. Totals range from 131 to 50.
edit-forget that!
To think I saw Fraser Forster and Olufela Olomola for Southampton and briefly thought I'd cracked that it was alliterative names.
Oh shit. Forget that. Different sites have wildly different totals.
And that, Reg, is why it is my favourite stat.
I will have one similar to James's in a minute unless somebody posts one first.
OK - there are 12 of these players currently in the Premier League (as far as I can see). United, Liverpool and Spurs all have one, but Chelsea, Arsenal and City don't - and there is no club with more than one in their squad.
Current international captains was my guess, so I'm going to throw that out there without doing any checking.
Doesn't work, Everton have 2
Is it something related to squad number?
Not squad numbers, no.
As an extra clue, Chelsea have a player who would have qualified until fairly recently.
Olympics medal winners?
EDIT: Nope, Jesus has got one.
I've not got anywhere near this.
Clue drop. One of the 12 is Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Players who have been capped the most times for their country?
I was thinking top scorers for their country, but Ibrahimovic and Rooney together balls that one up. I'm drawing a big blank.
Players who have scored against England?
That was one of my first thoughts, but Sigurdsson didn't score against us.
Is it something to do with loan players?
None of those particularly close, but I'd suggest the international theme is one to keep looking down.
Another one of the 12: Salomon Rondón.
The only internationals from their country in the Premier League?
That looked spot on until I remembered the Icelandic sson at Burnley.
Players from countries that have never been to a World Cup?
Max wins.
From memory the others were the other Icelander at Burnley, Victor Wanyama, Henrikh Mkhytaryan, Didier Ndong, a couple of Malians, Ragnar Klavan and some Lithuanian keeper at Watford.
Jesus Christ.
The man answered it, that's all I'm saying.
Fourteen players (I think) who have won the Premier League were born in a different country to the one they represent/represented internationally. Who are they????
Surely it will be loads of French players.
Vieira for starters.
Not as many as you'd think. Vieira is one, he was born in Senegal.
Wes Morgan
Kante?
Mahrez
Are we counting countries that renamed or broke up?
If so:
Kanchelskis
Vidic
Poborsky
Nani
Diarra (For Chelsea)
Makelele
Cech
Wiltord
Mahrez is correct.
With the old Soviet Union/Yugoslavia I'm saying if the place they were born is now in a country, they were born there if you get me? So Kanchelskis is correct as the city he was born in is located in the Ukraine (and he played for Russia). Whereas the city Vidic was born in is currently in Serbia now the Yugoslavia has broken up. Kanchelskis is the only one I have on my list from Eastern Europe anyway.
Nani is correct also.
Isn't Wes Morgan correct?
Shit yeah Morgan right as well
Does Le Saux count?
I never knew Nani wasn't born in Portugal.
Are we talking medals by the way? For example, I think Neil Sullivan will have won the league with Chelsea when Mourinho was first there, but I don't think he played a single league game.
Jordi Cruyff? No idea where he was born, but thinking it might've been in Spain
If they got a medal, through appearances or special dispensation. Sullivan had left Chelsea before Mourinho.
Cruyff was born in Holland.
Darron Gibson
Sterling.
Gibson is correct. Eight more
Costa
Diego Costa is also correct.
Makelele? Or did we have him already.
This is a lot harder than I initially expected.
Did Rossi get a medal with us?
Deco?
Morgan
Mahrez
Makelele
Kanchelskis
Nani
Gibson
Costa
All correct so far. You want clues for the remaining seven?
Jose 'centre back in a Champions League winning side' Bosingwa
Malouda was born in the French Caribbean somewhere but I dunno if that counts.
Deco right as well. Six left.
Giggs
Bosingwa also correct. I'm filing Malouda with Le Saux tbh. Not having it.
Five left.
"Giggsy" was born in some Welsh shithole.
Evra, of course
And our favourite Canadian Owen Hargreaves
Both right
Balotelli?
Saha
I'm sure Andy King at Leicester was born in England was he not? Might be confused ala Giggs.
Andy King is correct.
I don't know where he was born, but Jeff Schlupp was never born in Ghana.
I always thought he was Dutch for some reason so you might be onto something there.
Jeffrey Schlupp was born, sadly without a brain, in Germany.
One to get and it's the hardest of the lot imo. This geezer played his football for Australia.
Where was Kasper Schmeichel borned?
Robbie Slater (with a bit of research - never knew his was a plastic scouser).
Surprised there weren't any "Irishmen"
Yeah Robbie Slater is the one.
Name the only played to have scored in each of the three major European finals? Cup Winners Cup, UEFA Cup & European Cup/Champions League.
I genuinely have no idea who Robbie Slater is.
@Adamski
Is it Raul? Nah wait it's the other one. Morientes.
I know Koeman scored in the European Cup and Cup winners cup final. Not sure about the other though
No to all 3.
Well this is a bit shit, I have a couple of clues if you would like?
Vialli?
Van Basten?
I was so sure I'd nailed it that I've become completely demoralised if I'm honest.
Vieri?
No idea. I thought it might be Nedved but I checked and it isn't. I've gone through all the Cup Winners Cup finals from the 90s and I don't think it's any of those scorers, so unless it's someone way older who none of us would get?
Kluivert?
Older than these.
Linekar
Di Baggio
No. The only final he lost was European Cup.
He is Scandinavian and played in lower league England also for a spell.
Fuck knows who that is then.
Actually, default Scandies for that period are Brolin, Dahlin, and Kennet Andersson although the first two played in the Premiership rather than lower league.
It's older than that. Late 70's early 80's.
Allan Simonsen.
And you said we wouldn't get it! The wonders of the internet eh?
Here's a testy but gettable one.
What is the logic test for these lists of clubs:

West Brom

IN A MANNER OF SPEAKING
Newcastle
Who am I?
After impressing in Sweden's North Division 1, I was given my chance in the English second division.
I won my leagues' top scorer award in 1993
I was my teams 'player of the year' in 2005
I ended up playing in all 4 English divisions
I played in two World Cups and 1 European Championship
I scored the first ever goal live on Sky Sports
I thought I knew it from the first ever goal but Sweden is throwing me.
@Jimmy Floyd Something to do with name changes?
Teddy Sheringham
Yeah, Super Ted. Too easy, I think.
The last bit threw me a bit because I thought that was Brian Deane, but perhaps that's the first goal ever rather than the first televised goal.
Couple of other clues:
- All other British clubs not mentioned are NO
- Many foreign clubs are YES
- Only one other club in the world, other than Newcastle, is IN A MANNER OF SPEAKING
Something to do with the manager?
It's to do with their current squads.
This is a right old head scratcher, James.
Players who appeared at the last Euros, with the manner of speakings being players out on loan from the two clubs?
Good effort but Cabaye breaks that.
I feel like this one would be really satisfying to get... But I've no idea what it is.
So many jokes about @igor_balis sex life on the forum recently.
AFCON players?
We've got Henri Saivet out on loan at St Etienne who could be the 'link' between Newcastle being a sort-of club and the AFCON, but we also had Diamé, Atsu, Mbemba and someone else at the tournament.
It's nothing to do with the Afcon.
The 'sort of' isn't to do with loans either.
The other 'sort of' club is Sweden's Hammarby.
They've all 'produced' players who went to the Euros?
edit - nah fuck that.
Have players that scored at the Euros?
Boydy wins. Euro 2016, if there was any doubt.
The sort ofs were own goal scorers Ciaran Clark (Newcastle) and Kristinofi rugbiufb rug ui Saevarsson (Hammarby).
What does this represent?
1. Germany
2. Argentina
3. Brazil
4. France
5= Ireland, Costa Rica

Presumably including penalty shootouts
No...
Don't remember Ireland smashing the goals in.
League table of World Cup penalty shootouts
That'll be it. I'm surprised there's only 12 teams that have participated in them.
Bingo (those who have played 2+, anyway).
http://i.imgur.com/wyjZUWm.jpg
Name this man.
Seen it so I won't play.
Brian Little?
That Lazio player who was meant to be 15?
Taribo West?
Pretty sure that's Mario Melchiot
Paul Ince?
Freddy Adu.
Robert Mugabe.
Melchiot it is.
Name the 7 Japanese players to have played in the BPLSBB....
Is BPLSBB Premier League?
Is so:
Okazaki
Kagawa
Yoshida
Myagagi or what he's called (that Arsenal guy)
Nakata
Inamoto, the OG
Well that was very Google-able, found the others. Though it was Miyachigi
But won't say the last two then (didn't have a clue who they were anyway).
Miyachi
Last one is quite difficult, only played 4 games whilst on loan at a Prem club in the early-mid 00's.
I fucking said the Miagaichai guy. Fuck off with your autism spelling criteria.
Myagagi v Miyaichi..... give yer head a wobble.
Last one was some idiot at Spurs but I can't remember his name. I'll have a few guesses.
Hiteshi Miyamoto
Kazutoshi Iwada
Yaruhito Mitsuno
Kazuki Sato
The one at Spurs was probably called Harakiri.
It was Kazuyuki Toda. I'd completely forgotten about him.
I have a lot of time for the Japanese football team, and Iceland and various other teams because they all have homogeneous names. Sides like Germany these days are a disgrace with their Jerome Boatengs and their Gonzalo Castros.
Racial purity till I die.
Mike Havenaar's threatening to ruin it with Japan.
Surely he's too shit to make the team. And didn't they have one of then shit Brazilians in their team at some point.
Tulio Tanaka was a quality player.
All about his namesake Atomu Tanaka for me.
What links these players?
Craig Burley
Gonzalo Higuain
Robbie Keane
Lucas Radebe
Jon Dahl Tomasson
Georginio Wijnaldum
Thus is actually a genuine question, but also a good trivia question:
Which manager was for, for maybe Arsenal or Tottenham, that got a ticket stub from the tube out during his first press conference?
I thought it was the Arsenal manager before Wenger
'This is the ticket to my dreams', iirc.
Wasn't he trying to make out he was just like the fans too?
Hmmm.... is it some kind of Player of the Year award? Jon Dahl Tomasson always stumps me. His entire career.
They all grew up supporting L.A. Galaxy?
Yes to Guybrush, no to Raoul.
Something about Brazil?
Nowt to do with Brazil. Although there is one Brazilian who could also be on that non-exhaustive list.
Scored the first goal of a World cup tournament?
EDIT: No, thought it was Burley at France 98 but it was Collins.
Scored their country's last World Cup goal?
Yep.
Tomasson's being that hilariously bad penalty and sliced rebound against Cameroon(?).
Surely a South African scored in when the World Cup was there in 2010. Lucas Radebe retired in 2003?
They did. They scored a goal for all of Africa
https://youtu.be/HFISx1j0kak
I've been team mates with three different Ballon D'or winners.
I've been to two major international tournament semi finals
I've won Europe's secondary club competition but only ever made it to the semi final of the champions league.
Who am I?
I've also never won a league title outside of my home country.
Philip Cocu?
I think it's a Dutchman and Cocu came in mind first.
I'm going to have a dart here and say Momo Sissoko. I'm not sure he's there but I think he's close.
No to both.
Is that precisely two semi-finals, or two at least semi-finals?
Precisely two.
Could have worded that better. Is it two semi-final exits, or two occasions when they went to at least the semis.
Oh right, yeah. Two semi final exits.
Emre?
Yep.
Ronaldo and Cannavaro at Inter, Owen at Newcastle. Not far off having Baggio and Figo in there as well.
I had just narrowed it down to a Turk but I genuinely have no idea which of them is which aside from Hakan Sukur.
I had Christian Zaccardo until the Mourinho bit.
Someone who's played for AC Milan and Chelsea and is either Brazilian, Spanish or Italian.
A Spaniard with that career path is overwhelmingly likely to have played with Sergio Ramos.
If Maicon was part of the 2002 World Cup squad, which I doubt, then it's him.
Can't see that. He'd have been about 18.
Italy in 06 I reckon.
Maybe not as I doubt any of them played abroad.
Lucio?
Lucio played for Bayern.
Oh bum.
Dida.
EDIT: No Mourinho fuck sake.
It's fucking nearly Marco Amelia, but I don't think he's won the Champions League.
They may have been right with the tweet.
There are limited numbers of World Cup winners so it should be easy to disprove.
The tweet probably is right, meaning whoever wrote the question put some serious work into being a prick.
Never playing in Germany rules out the entire German squad aside from Mustafi, who's ruled out on all other criteria. Never playing with Ramos rules out the Spanish winners. The Italian winners all hung around in Italy or played under Ancelotti, aside from Grosso who's ruled out by Mourinho.
Thinking about it specifying that the player wasn't English before saying they've won a World Cup is a fairly good sing it's a troll.
Thought it was Belletti but apparently he was at Chelsea under Ancelotti.
And Barcelona with Messi.
True.
No way this thing can be real.
Having done 30 minutes of research, there's no way it's real. Kaka is the killer - he's only played for a few clubs, and 10 years of his playing time is ruled out by Ancelotti and Ramos. There's noone in his 2013 spell that meets the criteria either.
Edit - and none of the Brazilians from 2002 fit.
Research :D fuck sake.
Thought it could have been Alex but Ancelotti kills that.
It can't be true unless one of the 'clues' is like a trick. Like he "played with Kaka" in a fucking charity match or something.
So it's probably a Brazilian like Maicon or somebody.
Like I said, none of the 2002 Brazillians fit.
Maybe some Milan tosser, then. Or it could just be some Irishman, due to the tweet origins.
An Irish World Cup winner. That'll be it.
Anyone who played with Kaka at Milan also played under Carlo. And noone fits from his loan spell.
There's no answer.
It'll be some bullshit like the World Cup being in tiddlywinks or something.
If the answer is something like "He won the u20 world cup" or "He played with Kaka at Soccer Aid" then it's not a real answer as far as I'm concerned.
Could it be someone who was part of the coaching staff?
If there's someone from the 1994 Brazil squad who lasted long enough to play with Kaka and Robinho and then became part of Mourinho's coaching team then that'd almost certainly be your guy, but I think at this point it's safe to assume either the question is a noise up or whoever made it has ballsed up one of the criteria.
If he was a coach he wasn't managed by Mourinho.
The coaches are still technically managed by the manager. I'm looking at ways to skirt the language so an answer can be provided and I can get on with my life.
Let me distract you with this:
Which member of the royal family has been managed by Alex Ferguson and also been convicted for manlsaughter?
I was going to say Ralph Little, but I don't think he's killed anyone.
Has Sralex owned a horse called Princess Margaret which kicked a stable boy in?
Stuart Taylor, the former Arsenal 'keeper, has been a pro footballer since 1997. How many league games has he played?
About 50?
It's a shit question, so I'll give you the answer.
You were close, it's 75.
I'm surprised it's that many to be honest.
What are the three countries with the smallest population to produce a European Cup/Champions League winning player (by registered FIFA nationality)?
This is easily cheated, but it'd be nice if you didn't.
Kaladze is the first that springs to mind - how small is Georgia?
I bet Gudjonsen is up there too, given how sparsely populated Iceland is
Georgia has at least one in Kaladze but I'm not sure that's small enough. I bet there's a Caribbean nation in there but I can't think of any off the top of my head.
Edit: I was in the reply box for too long. I'm sure Iceland will be one, it's only about 250k or something.
Dwight Yorke for Trinidad & Tobago?
Can't believe I didn't think of Yorke.
Given you're asking for the countries rather than the players, are we unlikely to get the 3rd?
Might be showing my ignorance here, but isn't Croatia tiny? I remember when they beat us a few years ago people said it was smaller than some cities here.
Northern Ireland - Georgie Best?
Trinidad and Tobago is another one. The largest of the three countries, in fact.
The third is a little (lot) more obscure. Nobody's got it yet. I can supply the year, if a clue is needed.
EDIT: I think Northern Ireland is #4 on this particular list.
Did some San Marinese fella sneak in?
Bonini for Juve was San Marinese. Won it in 85 I think
That's the one.
San Marino (pop 31,500): Massimo Bonini
Iceland (pop 323,000): Eidur Gudjohnsen
Trinidad and Tobago (pop 1.34 million) : Dwight Yorke
Inspired by a Pointless question, I've just discovered the 5 countries with the largest sheep populations(as of 2012).
Any takers?
Australia
New Zealand
Argentina
South Africa
UK
edit: Maybe France instead of Argentina
Always China. They'll boil the lot.
Russia as well surely.
America and Brazil then if the big countries top the list. Genuinely surprised New Zealand isn't on there as pretty much all the non Finnish lamb on the market here seems to come from there.
U.S of A for sheer mass of land. Morocco maybe too?
Central African Republic.
Wales.
none of them
Hang on a minute. Lamb madras. India and Pakistan.
India.
Dammit, Jimmy.
The other two are well hard.
Iran and Argentina.
I reckon the last one is around the Middle East/Indian subcontinent then. Bangladesh? Afghanistan?
Pakistan?
Somewhere in Africa.
Jimmy already guessed that. @Giggles
You get sheep up in the likes of Ethiopia. That's my best guess in Africa.
Has anyone said Mexico?
Turkey or Egypt.
Bahrain?
Morocco.
Have we guessed some former Soviet 'stan or are they more into goats?
I gave in and looked it up. Fucking hell. I doubt anyone will get it.
Yeah, I looked it up, too. I was along the right lines with the logic I used to guess Iran (they'll shag anything).
Is it the democratic republic of Aberdeen?
Turkmenistan.
Tajikistan?
Azerbaijan?
Kyrgyzstan?
Scotland?
He already said it's in Africa.
Venezuela.
We're based in Mali now, aren't we and Harold always knew that all posters apart from him are sheep. So is the one missing TTH?

What has happened this English football season that has only occurred in one previous English season (dating back to 1888-89)?
Outfield player winning the league two seasons running with different clubs?
Not what I have, although for all I know that may also be true.
Cantona did it with Leeds and Man Utd, so not true.
No teams from the South went down?
No, the previous occasion was 1985/86.
Alright, Jimmy, no one's getting it. Give us the answer.
Top two in the league and both FA Cup finalists all from the same city.
85/86 FA Cup was Blackburn v West Brom, and according to Wiki the first Football League wasn't until 1888....? Am I missing something?
You're 100 years early.
Fucking hell :)
Huddersfield will become the 49th team to play at the top level since football began in 1992. Who are the other 48?

If Huddersfield will become the 49th does that mean Brighton are the 48th?
Do MK Dons count?
Watford.
Did Oldham sneak in or where they the old First Division? In other news, apparently the guy who refereed the 1985 FA Cup final lives in my village.
I was going to say Oldham. They were in for a season I think.
Yep!
Not going to quote everyone but you got them all. I got 46 before I gave up (and saw I missed the bit about ever presents). Fucking Wigan, Wimbledon and Reading doing me over.

Kaka?
Isn't there a couple of Egyptian players who are gonna be up there. Like fuck we will get their names
Zidane, Beckham, Roberto Carlos and Javier Zanetti.
I cant remember seeing any egypitans in the list.
Marcelo must have 15 by now.
Alvaro Arbeloa could be a sneaker as well.
Zanetti just sneaks in with 15 while the real madrid bunch, didnt really win enough trophies to make the list. Roberto Carlos was there before them all, and he won 11 trophies while in madrid. Beckham won 7 trophies after the year 2000 and 10 before 1999
As the dutch league has been excluded, it means the dutch guys such as van bommel didnt win enough in leagues that count.
With dutch league - 25
Without dutch league -13
Arbeloa only has 11. He never won anything at liverpool.
Couple more Govou-esque outliers:
Gregory Coupet
Juninho (he of the free kicks)
Players left played for barcelona, inter milan, real madrid, chelsea, juventus, bayern munich and others
Cesc Fabregas?
Dejan Stankovic
Drogba
Cambiasso
Karim Benzema must be well past 15 by now, he won stuff at Lyon too.
About 10 left.
Think about the inter and bacelona teams that were dominating during the same period. Some players won trophies before joining, won with inter or barca and then left these clubs and won trophies elsewhere.
Already been said.

I've gone for a few players who won European trophies as quite young players, then still had strong careers afterwards.
I'm good for late 90s/early 00s finals but I haven't got a clue from mid 00s onwards.
Bonucci, Barzagli and Chiellini.
Might sneak it.
Ivan Cordoba and Martin Caceres
And a possible 'you what?' Paolo Orlandoni, the third keeper for Inter during the glory years.
Few last remaining players and the teams they have won trophies at
Bayern Munich
Arsenal
Inter Milan
Chelsea
Barcelona
Brazil
Argentina
Fabian Barthez
Luka Modric
Sylvain Wiltord
I guessed before seeing the update haha!
Ashley Cole?
Thierry Henry

Barcelona
Chelsea
PSG
Some brazilian playing in the brazilian serie a team called avai fc
And one retired cunt, and what a cunt he is.
Maicon!
Thiago, Jerome Boateng, Thomas Muller, David Alaba.
Thiago Silva must be the one at PSG.
Jordi Alba and Pedro.
Still one left at PSG
Few names here have already been mentioned.
Down to the last few
Currently playing at PSG. Midfielder with 24 medals
Currently playing at Barcelona. Defender with 16 medals
Retired ex inter milan player. Defender with 16 medals
Di Maria
Thiado Motta!
Adriano at Barcelona, although I make it 23 for him.
Soggy Biscuits?
Javier Mascherano
Materazzi is the Inter player.
Has Mascherano been mentioned?
That was a good one Sincere, well done.
61 players in total. Biggest surprise is gerrard and kaka on 11. I thought they would have had more than that. But not ever being part of a team who was winning league titles has probably cost them.

Pastore and Matuidi make it too I believe.
Edit: Not unless the French charity shield is included.
Adriano does have 23:
4x Liga
2x Champions League
2x Europa League
5x Copa del Rey
4x Spanish Super Cup
3x Euro Super Cup
2x Club World Cup
1x Copa América
Yeah that was a good'un, Sincere.
There we have it. Maxwell is better than Messi, and a whole 50% better than Cristiano Ronaldo.
Hold up. Ronaldo at PSG?
Anyway, glad to see Sincere back donning this thread again. :)
Yeah, you are correct. Wiki credits him with the 2014 super cup, but he wasnt playing and didnt make the bench. My database does not credit him with it.
Thats annoying. Ill have to go back into the chamber and check all the stats for the rest of my trivia that ive got lined up
Your chamber must be the greatest place on earth.
If other sources claim your answer is correct. Then ill give it you. Fuck it.
Pastore started the 2014 game and was taken off for Moura.
Fuck the DB, Sincere.
Was fun though.
Ive got over 90 names on this list. From the following top leagues below, since football began names the players who have won the most league titles. Most of the players on the list are from modern times.
The oldest player won his first league title in the 1930s.
Most league titles won by a player was 14
You need to have won at least 7 league titles in order to make the list.
England
Spain
Germany
Italy
France
Russia
Turkey
Portugal
Netherlands
Ukraine
What qualifies as 'the most'?
One player has won 14 league titles.
