Ended up changing cruise to leave from Palma. MSC Seaview for a week and then a week in Mallorca somewhere. Glorious

Just got back from a few days in Budapest. Would recommend, probably more on the Buda-side than Pest-side (if you are an old fart like me who likes museums and big ol' churches etc.) If you're some youth delinquent then Pest and the Ruin Bars are pretty fun.
Shit is expensive though. Prices basically on a par with here, which feels a bit steep really.

Bit of both in Estonia I think. They we're on top of some inflation table at one point in the past few years, but wages obviously kept up. That is the same everywhere, no?

Went to Prague last summer on a stag and that was still incredible value. As long as you're not in the Old Town Square, you can get food and drink at great prices.
About to book a family holiday to Vienna in July for a bit of culture. :drool:

It's normal.
Although hotels don't always enforce it.
Mainly depends on how busy they are/if the room was in use before you.
Ask if you can leave your luggage in a store room (most hotels have them) and then go off for lunch nearby/doss about for a few hours.
Most hotels are checkout by ~11am and check-in from ~3pm. Guess charging a fee for prioritised access is in the same region as "speedy boarding" type stuff for flights.
