If you've got any sense, if a team is entertaining the idea of trading you the pick for a couple of mid round picks then they're not seriously taking a 'franchise QB'. I think they must've been more scared the Browns were going to jump them and get back to 2. Mental, as it smashed the draft board... as did some later picks.Quote:

The Browns are being pretty 'safe' I think, which is what they need to do when the previous regimes have just thrown swings and hoped for the best. The roster is young and pretty shit so picking up clean, versatile and/or dependable players who have the best chance of playing day 1 isn't a bad strategy.
If Allen did a Clowney and spent a couple of years with niggling injuries it does them no good.

Barnidge is going to be cut which is pretty damn surprising. Browns have loads of cap space and they're taking a viable weapon away from whoever will be their QB. Plus he could have taught Njokou a lot.
