I thought 'being in the right place at the right time' (like Lampard) was his main quality, although admittedly I haven't seen all that much of him.
He does arrive late to the box very well but he just is not suited to being in a team expected to retain the ball often. Certainly struggles receiving the ball on the turn and just a bit clumsy. Crystal Palace were perfect for him.
