It does seem so.
The rumour is TOTS could come as early as in 2 weeks time. Though if I remember last year, the TOTS cards were not actually as juiced as they usually were. I'm just hoping they keep them as red picks. I do remember WL becomes a sweat fest during it though.
One thing I have noticed with this Mbappe is the power curve. I've always said team doesn't make too much difference to you. Where you will notice it is in those games where it's a tight matchup skill wise. A better team can sometimes drag you over the line against a better player. Having now used Mbappe, if this is what the gold card felt like at the start of the game it's a joke.
I'd love to know what adding in multiple TOTY cards in one go in a January feels like. If I do end up playing '23, that's got to be the aim.
I think it makes a huge difference - imagine pulling Gold Mbappe on day 1. You'd monster people with a load of 78-rated cloggers at the back and that would set you up for better rewards and would compound over time. By TOTY everyone already has pretty great teams and so they don't make as big a difference

They've released PIM Owen alongside Prime Puskas SBCs. My gripe is you get 90 days to do Owen, who is 450k. Puskas is 1.2m and you get 30 days...

Been playing some rivals as I'm getting closer on some milestones and the mode is a bit of a mess. It's almost become golden goal at times.
I have had zero drive to actually play the game since Friday. So as usual I am in need of 8 rivals games by tomorrow night.

I’d get cracking now. Hopped on for 30 mins before leaving for work and got 4 RQs inside the opening 30 mins of those games. Then had two proper tense close ones.
I think I need like 12 first owner wins to get the first owner rivals milestones wrapped up. Should be a good couple of packs with that.
Helps that my entire squad page is first owner now. Although other than Lafont, Cafu and Mendes they’re all SBCs. Could be argued the last two are as well.

I'm sceptical though for 2 reasons. Firstly, they massively inflated the last prime/moments SBC price because of the added moments cards. Secondly I bet they put a reduced time on them, instead of letting them run to the end of the game like they should.

I have 20+ packs waiting until Friday. Means I will have to buy some fodder to do Barnes/Gotze if I decide to but they are cheap enough.

I managed to get his TOTY card in '19 and it's honestly one of the best cards I've ever used full stop. So good that I had to move him into CM/CAM every game. That new one looks even better as well. Mental. If he keeps his 5* SM he'll be everyones LB for the rest of the game.
Judging by Twitter a lot of people are upset with Richarlison and Pavard not getting their upgrades. Therein lies the gamble of the showdown SBC. My way of looking at it was always, would you be happy with the card with no upgrade? If so, get it completed.
Great to see Fabio is getting a +2. I've brought him on a few times in Rivals to test him. He needs that boost to his reactions really and could use a little more pace, but with a Maestro on now, he's already a 95 rated CAM in game.
8 secured but 2 wins away from Elite. Pass on playing on more so should get there next week.

Hmmm that Jones is cheaper than I thought, though the card isn't as juiced as I expected. It's decent, but only with the +2 would it look great.
I feel obliged to complete it either way, but I see they've chosen to reduce the defensive stats on him this time around. Much more of an attacking CM and not a box to box guy this time.

I had several games where I went 1-0 up and just could not get the 2nd for the life of me. Then after half time everything would change and I'd crumble. At one point I had to check I wasn't facing the same people over again.
This promo has brought some of what I like to see into it. Make random/lesser players good and useful! But I do feel the boosts could have been a smidge higher and maybe chuck in some WF/SM upgrades?
I suppose I'll open my packs now, though in reality there's only Di Natale, The rat, Quags or Milito that'd be of much use to my team.

If you use him as a stay back CDM (and he actually stays) he should be, in theory, better than every Kante up to TOTY but Kante is obviously built different in this game.
