He is expected to provide an update on the booster programme. The BBC has been told there will not be any more new rules announced.
He has probably seen data pointing towards the booster killing this (definitely looks that way based on the age splits I've seen) so should open up boosters to all 18+ to get some more cross-age group immunity.

That was 10% about urging people to get boosted and 90% about being seen to be taking this seriously whilst also avoiding having to take questions about the parties last year.
If they had a brain they would just get the likes of Kate Garraway to promote the vaccine. Nobody that isn't jabbed is going to do so because Boris Johnson asked them nicely after Strictly.
That wouldn't work either, no one at this stage is going to get a vaccine who doesn't want one and the danger they're also facing now due to the increasingly chronic mishandling of this (from both a general Boris and a science messaging perspective) is that the booster uptake is going to be dogshit compared to the original vaccination one. If we genuinely do all need a booster to protect us, we're fucked.

What observations have you seen? My Sister is basically in the Mrs 45 Mum's circle (ironically probably spreading COVID at their coffee mornings) and others within it are still TERRIFIED (one keeps trying to convince her that she really should get her kids vaxxed, despite them both recently having had COVID), leading me to believe we might need another round or two of bullshit to start to see them turn.
Outside of those people, I'd be surprised if this isn't doing huge damage to faith in science and vaccines. Will be very interesting to see the numbers on the boosters vs. the latter.
Essentially we're watching the Boy Who Cried Wolf play out on a national and global scale.
