This is a shagging.
England will still win, probably easily.
He wasn't off his feet though, was he, Nigel.
Nice to see Courtney Lawes is back to being a brainless penalty machine. We've been fucking dire.
Nothing wrong with that.
We've been woefully indisciplined. An infringement in every passage of play.
We have, but we're also getting nothing out of the celebrity referee.
No excuse, every time we get into a decent position some dickhead gives away a stupid penalty. I mean what on earth was Underhill thinking with that tackle?
As soon as Lawes went into that you knew it was a penalty to Scotland.
Still, it would have been 22-20 if Care had been given that try when Owens pulled him up about an hour after the supposed 'penalty'.
They needed a kick up the arse before France and Ireland, but fuck off. They will be living off this for twenty years.
Scotland being pumped from Wales was probably the best thing for them. Away form is sketchy though
So what's the score with that knock-on, then? Aside from how long it took to call was that the law being followed properly? Seems harsh to me but I dunno the ins and outs.
We were fucking woeful anyway. We might've scraped a thoroughly undeserved win if that'd be given but I doubt it.
The knock on was alright (although it's ridiculous that the ball then travels 70 yards downfield for a Scottish scrum when if England had fucked the score it would have just been play on).
The contentious one was when Danny Care picked up an interception and Nigel decided about two years later there had been an infringement in the previous ruck, when replays showed that there hadn't.
Funnily enough I was just reading an interesting twitter thread about chronological arrogance.
Twitter threads are shit as a rule (especially so when somebody announces it as a thread as if we care), but let's have a look.
I've lost it now (was a string of people and replies rather than a 'thread'), but it was about Les Dawson and I found it in a wormhole off Danny Baker's account.
Every bit of that sounds sad, and I bet about sixty per cent of the replies are from people with 'husband/wife to...' in their biographies.
I had a theory during the Barca Mate heyday about people getting carried away wanting to feel like they're part of something.
'That was really good.'
'WHAT WE'RE WITNESSING HERE...'
It works better with the current political bullshit. Giving up your weekends being a sad cunt suddenly becomes a lot more significant if you convince yourself that *whatever* is the worst thing since that other thing.
It's just the other end of the spectrum from nostalgia, isn't it? "Well, the thing I got excited about then was obviously better than the thing you're getting excited about now."
I'm sure we've discussed this in the wrasslin' thread about the Attitude Era.
To an extent, but anyone who watches the Attitude Era back soon gets a bit of perspective, and nobody is demented enough about rasslin' to die in a ditch defending how Road Dogg was booked compared to current undercard fodder. If you're completely wrapped up in something - such as RESISTING (rather than just opposing) Donald Trump - you lose (or reject) that sense of perspective.
The whole reaction to this is so fucking small time :D
Come home Eddie we wont bully you.
Get on board, Ital.
I had great fun last night trying to get my racist old man to try and justify why Matt Lodge should be playing league considering he is always the first at calling out polynesians for anything.
Everyone is going a bit overboard with that. If he has to pay those people a load of compensation he stands to do it quicker playing rugby than he does working on a building site somewhere.
The NRL have de-regestered players for a lot less in fact Wayne has sacked players for a lot less. Almost all the Broncos fans I know dont want him at the club.
True. But then nobody is really consistent on these things.
Yeah that is a good point.
There has to be some degree of bad behaviour which can't be crossed. And any vaguely reasonable line in the sand clearly has Lodge on the other side of it.
I'm not suggesting they have to go full puritan. But it's not "virtue-signalling" to have some kind of behavioural limits.
That line is presumably up to the courts, after which point the person ought to be free to resume their life. If he had done time you could just sign him out of prison like Russell Packer, but he avoided prison with this compensation agreement. In that case he either comes back after he pays it all off painting fences (never), or he comes back to pay it off (ten years?). I think his return should definitely be conditional upon him doing that, and the NRL could have set up some scheme to take x amount of his wages towards doing so, but both rugbies need to pull their heads out their arse with this stuff.
Rugby Union in Australia definitely doesnt have domestic violence issue.
I think the issue for me is Australia has an enormous domestic violence problem where 2 woman a week are murdered in this country. These blokes shouldnt be playing professional sports. NRL virtue signals about woman and domestic violence all the time (to draw money out of sponsors and female fans) and they kick players out for ever which is appropriate. Somehow Bennett has managed to slip one through because of his pull and expects us all to laud him. Not this time Wayne it wont go away you senile fuck.
There will be sponsor backlash for sure and the media will keep digging at Bennett which is what is needed.
What jobs should they be allowed (or reduced) to? Why do the 'tradies' have to put up with them?
I meant generally when everyone over-reacts to anyone doing something a bit stupid. Obviously this was more than that, but it is ultimately on a spectrum, and the tedious media and administrators tend to shit the bed. Mitchell Pearce didn't actually bum that dog, but he got fined $125000 and missed eight games. Grow up everyone, because when things like this come along nobody has any perspective left.
I dont care what he does to be honest I wont be paying to watch a Broncos team with him in it.
The feeling down here is probably different than in England. We will get to a point in the next 10 or so years where anyone convicted of violent crimes wont be playing League, Union, AFL.
Sam Tomkins got $2000 for pissing up a wall on a night out. I think those sports you mentioned are all paranoid about the other, so they have to fall over themselves to be what they imagine is appealing to families. Either that or Australia is just a mimsy country now. Your finest thinkers seem to account for a disproportionate amount of the mental 'public health' wheezes you read about, and isn't it illegal to ride a bike without a helmet in Sydney?
Gone SOFT cobber.
:D
You would hate Melbourne.
It's illegal to ride a bike anywhere without a helmet isn't it? I'm sure I've seen someone pulled up on the beach for it, which was lol.
Saints were outstanding last night. Percival’s a new man since they took kicking off him.
They look good everywhere, which traditionally means blazing a trail and then losing to Leeds at Old Trafford.
Swear Scotland do that once a game.
Scotland are the scum of the earth in every sense, but once you hear that Irelands Call shite you still have to want them to smash these cunts and ruin their grand slam.
Fucking hell :D
Scotland are throwing this and winning their own championship.
They've won their game already, watch them switch off for five years again.
Scotland’s final pass has been hilarious.
Yeah, there you go. Proper Bruce Grobbelaar stuff that.
