But if they need the lateral flow test within so many hours of your flight (say 48 or 24), it doesn’t leave you much time to arrange a 2nd PCR test and get the results before you're having your 9am pint in duty free.

I think the airports require a PCR test rather than a lateral flow one. They'll do it at the airport for you, if you're lucky.

Not something I'd connected to this as my bouts are very rare but good to know I can add it to the list :happycry:
Today I saw somebody leafleting for the Green Party in a mask, a full face visor thing, gloves, and using a wooden spatula to pry/push letterboxes open. They were only young as well. How is anyone like that going to cope ever again?
They aren't. They'll morph into a weird subset of humanity whose way of life we will have to 'respect', like the travellers.
I was umpiring yesterday and my colleague was going on about always sanitising his hands after he touches the bails, 'so at least I'm safe'. After touching the bails? No one else touches them, and we're in the middle of a field, and they're four inch bits of wood, and it transmits through the air, and... oh, god, it's all just too much.
The Greens over here are doing less than that. Pushing stuff through the door and not campaigning face to face. I'm just looking forward to a summer of stuff.
I keep seeing Deliveroo student type delivery cyclists wearing masks whilst on the road. :harold:
Mumbai with a 30% positivity rate on tests. :eyemouth:
False positive? :eyemouth:
That is textbook new variant. It won't be a vaccine escaper though. I doubt any of them will.

Team fear beat you to it Jim.
"To escalate it up the ranking we need to know that it is increased transmissibility, increased severity or vaccine evading, and we just don't have that yet."
They make it sould like it should be the aim to "escalate" :D
Missus oncologist told her to not get the AJ and to wait for the pfyzer.
Anti vax will dine out on this untill the end of time.
Rip
Someone on the news has just said that the Indian VARIANT is "resistant to the vaccine" and it went completely unchallenged.
If this is true it's the first I've heard of it.
I've literally only just heard of the Indian Variant then they say there are hundreds of cases over here already to beat the old make everyone panic bandwagon. If you are that concerned just close everything down again, obviously they aren't that concerned otherwise they would do.
The Greens (the actual opposition) pointed out today that Australia doesn't have a vaccine deadline or a deadline for our International borders. There is a fair chance we won't open up untill after the next Federal election.
Why is Tony Blair on BBC news advocating for the AZ vaccine? He’s right on everything, but this is a bit random.
Wee Nic needs to open the pubs this weekend when the weather is good rather than next week
Probably not since deaths are looking like this. :cab:

Riddled with it. Has it reached our shores?
Of course it has.
Brill.
I've come to the conclusion that the reason they won't shut the borders is that, once the infrastructure was in place to keep them closed and track who comes and goes, they don't fancy their chances of convincing the population to open them again (at least not to the normal let every cunt in the world move here levels). Which is nice, because otherwise all of this staying in and wrecking the country could have gone to waste; but here we are upholding fundamental rights.

Imagine not vaccinating the wharfies.
LOLiberal party.
Looks like India are aiming for herd immunity without the vaccine. Record cases in successive days. Worrying to say the least (for them).

It's always been negotiable, you mongs. You're not free to do whatever you want.
No fucker is following the rules anyway. They're just inconveniencing themselves at their retarded gatherings.
Go see your mates and shut the fuck up.
I just don't get what they're protesting besides worrying about covid passports that just aren't going to happen in the way they think. Although half the crowd look like they're on oxygen.
As if people are still pissing their pants over freedoms. Go and see your loved ones and get on with your life.
You can tell by the amount of traffic on the roads that the whole thing is done.
I took the kids down the seafront today. The theme park was rammed, the beaches were shoulder to shoulder, grandparents had their grandkids holding their hands, big groups of people mixing, zero social distance, zero masks, zero fucks given.
It is indeed well over and done with and rightfully so. It was the first time things have felt fully normal for more than a year (save for a couple of taped off urinals with "out of use to allow social distancing" stuck to them).
Beautiful.
I think we've got to the end of it definitely. It's good to see people re-emerge really, it's been a challenging 4 months.
My mum told me that when they go round their neighbours for a drink in the garden, the neighbours bring out their drinks with tissues/kitchen roll wrapped around the glasses/bottles and put them on the table and then take the tissues to the bin, to avoid contact. I can’t fathom how anyone thinks that is a) doing anything or b) worthwhile. (Are they the same? lol)
She also said when they came round theirs for drinks, they just handed them over and suspected they got called rotten when they went home. I’m glad my parents are weirdos.
That's mad. Like, a bit of vigilance in your life is good but that's just outright insanity.
There is a minority who are going to struggle for a while, and it’s understandable. We’ve been through a tough year and that’ll take some time to get over.
Yeah, but those people are proper melts.
You believe Bill Gates is trying to poison us with a vaccine. I'd wind your neck in if I was you.
Fuck off you slag.
I was out umpiring today and my colleague for the day turns up, Big Joe who is a Jamaican guy who's been on the circuit forever. Greets me with a thumping great outstretched hand for a shake. Who am I to resist?
First handshake for over a year, loved it.
Obviously we couldn't have a drink standing up afterwards in a massive open field, but rules are rules!
Ah, c'mon. Drinking on a cricket pitch is tantamount to anarchy. Got to protect the sanctity of the game.
'Me doan't mind 'avin' a likkle 'andshake wiv...'
*Big Joe looks thoroughly embarrassed*
:D
Well this is a rather good timing.

My sauna community coming together yesterday in Hyde park. Beautiful scenes.
:D
Just amazing.
