Boris Johnson has told a private meeting of Tory MPs that the UK got its Covid vaccinations under way quickly thanks to "capitalism" and "greed".

Boydy is a slag, BOYDY IS A SLAAAAAG, Communist scum, Boydy is a slag
Gasp.
Ian's a nice chap, Ian's a nice chaaaaap, shame about Scotland, Ian's a nice chap.
I think that might be the first time I've ever said "chap". Horrible word.
I slide between chap and fella depending on the company (usually inversely). 'Lad' has never passed my lips.
I'm from Essex, so anyone with testicles is "mate".
Do you use 'chap' to address somebody directly?
I am predominantly a 'mate'-user.
Bogan is a great word.
Okay that's fine.
I dunno what my go-to word for that situation is. Guy, I suppose.
I can never really get the Australian use of fella (normally in describing someone as a 'black fella') out of my mind.
Also, I don't know if it's some ingrained Glaswegian in me but I find the use of the term 'pal' really passive aggressive.
Think I'm more of a mate user in general parlance.
I've been up here long enough that 'pal' and 'buddy' sometimes find their way into my vocabulary but I feel the same, pal especially has undertones of aggression.
I don't think I knew you you had any ingrained Weegie. Is that where you're actually from or did you just live up this way?
My dad's from Glasgow (Barlanark). He escaped.
A colleague from my old work place (same company I work for now just different area) passed away last night with it. Not overweight, no health conditions (our company has shielded anyone with a sniff of a health condition since the start) he just got it and couldn't shake it. 50 years old with a 10 year old son. Brutal.
If I was Glaswegian, I'd settle for 'big man' over 'pal'. Man or mate is usually what I tend to go with. Pet doesn't work so well for the lasses.
I'm just waiting to hear what Igor pretends he says.
£10 on Squire.
Dude. Or 'dyood'.
I'm going with Sir.
+1 for the 'pal' camp.
I’ve only ever heard ‘pal’ from an old person or if someone is taking the piss.
‘Sir’ or ‘mate’ usually is the go to.
When I used to frequent Workington for work purposes one of my colleagues complained that a local there always called him 'Paul' despite it not being his name, but it was just 'Pal' with a thick accent :D

Sounds like Taz needs a Hot Water Bottle and a Rom-Com.
Brain fog. :harold:
It's a serious thing. Probably the norm for you aubergine haters though.
Would explain a lot of your posts.
It's all the Estrogen.
Lads, calm down, form an orderly line and I'll deal with you soft shites in an organised manner.
It's not a gloryhole, love.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that the EU had lacked ambition in its response to the pandemic.
Speaking to Greek TV about the rapid speed at which vaccines had been created, he said: "You can give that to the Americans, as early as the summer of 2020, they said: Let's pull out all the stops and do it. And so, they had more ambition than us."
"Never in the history of mankind was a vaccine developed in less than a year," Mr Macron said.
"That's a formidable success. And so, on this, without a doubt, in a way, we didn't shoot for the stars. I think that should be a lesson for us. We were wrong to lack ambition, to lack the madness... We were maybe too rational."
He (they) really despise the UK so much it's absolutely glorious.
 what a little rodent.
That was just the SPIRIT OF THE BLITZ speaking.
They're all good efforts but I think I'll credit Jimmy with the hottest take there.
Probably the most accurate of the four, too.
Speaking of the blitz, masks were a big waste of time then too, and yet the defining symbol of the blitz.
Magic and Taz will have my back. I nailed this in the 3rd post.
I didn't start being right until about page 6. A bit like the Bible.
Amazing how you can still be retarded after a year. @custard
It's been longer than a year, he's put up with it his whole life.
Wow check the Chromosome King dishing it out.
No covid here.
Can we get our Lines To Take clarified please, MJ. Baiting them over their softness is good but leave out the long COVID jibes ffs.
