Don't lie to me, son.
Watched One Night Stand 2005 with my mate who hadn't seen it before. Still fucking class. It probably makes me some sort of blood-crazed lunatic, but I've rarely had more fun watching wrestling than I did during Masato Tanaka vs Mike Awesome.

I'm not far past that actually and I too enjoyed that match. Survivor Series '05 up next. Did somebody in here not tell me that the Booker/Benoit best-of-seven series is really good?
Also, who the fuck is Palmer Canon (not that I'm going to be watching the Teddy Long vs Bischoff match) and why the fuck was Daivari refereeing Cena vs. Angle?
What I'll always remember from the Benoit/Booker feud

Suicide Dive? Uuuhhhh, phrasing?
My marathon (which is officially better than yours Ian, so there) has now reached Royal Rumble 1997, fuck me it's getting good now, the last half of 1996 just went mental (comparatively) with Stone Cold realising that he could do whatever he wanted and everyone would love it.
I mean, the Pillman home invasion thing was fucking crazy, how the hell did they get away with it?
That's the name of the move, Disco. Is that Mike Awesome match the one where Joey Styles wishes suicide upon him?

I love that. Something tells me that wasn't a prop, either. :D
Yeah I get that, it's a bit like hearing occasionally uncomfortable things said about Owen Hart. Given what happened it's somewhat unfortunate to have someone saying that he 'bends but does not break' during commentary.
"Benoit just loves hurting people, JR!"
":uhoh:"
First time I've ever seen that match from One Night Stand. "This match rules," indeed.
I know nobody would have bought it anyway but WWE could at least have pretended Kane might have a chance of winning rather than battering Rollins in every single encounter so far since he started lolloping about as THE DEMON KANE.
Also, lol at that ending to the Ziggler/Summer Rae/Lana thing. Not that I'm not glad it's over, you understand.
I've not watched in a while but is he really back to being THE DEMON KANE?
He's doing a split personality thing where he's cheery corporate suit and then you turn around and he's masked and can fight real good again. A bit like TNA did with Abyss and Joseph Park but without anyone trying to pretend they're not the same person.
I like Corporate Kane. :gs:
In other news, I'm loving the evolution of Vince's gravelly voice. We're into proper MON.DAY NIGHT RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA territory now.

#ICWFearAndLoathing is the highest grossing card in the UK since Daddy fought Haystacks at Wembley in 1981. Thank you!
Yaaaaaaaaa.
More than Summerslam? I doubt it.
Edit- Unless they mean by a UK based company? Which probably isn't very impressive.
British Wrestling companies, m9. 5200+ is a fucking superb effort. Its not even London or Manchester is well.
Mark Dallas

I was right not to expect much. She managed to look shit even in a squash match. She doesn't exactly look like she's in the greatest condition, and her arsenal consists of a bearhug (the hallmark of a big 'power' wrestler who can't do anything technical for shit) & a sloppy 'one armed spinebuster' that she used both arms for.
Tamina's better than her. Poor Evie :(

Nikki Storm is apparently likely to start with NXT soon, and Athena's just made her debut. Both should be awesome - Storm is good in the ring & an excellent gobby heel, and Athena is probably one of the biggest names in womens indy wrestling - if you haven't seen her finisher, that alone will make you drop your jaw, although there's virtually no way WWE will let her do it as half the roster would probably literally die taking it.
Storm is the better of the two, in my opinion, and certainly the one better suited to WWE, while Athena has always been (finisher excluded) kinda average to me, but I'm sure she'll do well as she's definitely not bad, and word is she stepped things up after she came back from injury a while back (I wouldn't know though since I've barely watched anything in the last year or so).
Of course you like Corporate Kane. Why wouldn't you.
5200 for an indie event is HUGE anywhere - for perspective, CHIKARA were getting hype for having just over 1000 at WrestleCon a few years back, SHIMMER's capacity is about 300, and PWG supposedly fills up at around 500-700. ROH's Field of Honor show in August drew 2200 & their joint shows with NJPW capped out at 1500. TNA, meanwhile, have apparently been drawing less than 500 at recent live events :D
I'd be surprised if we'd had many four figure attendances from UK based companies, nevermind drawing that many.
Going to see some ICW in Liverpool tonight. Pretty damn excited.
ICW was boss!!

Sami Zayn's post-show promo from his appearance at EVOLVE 49.
What did everyone think of Brock Lesnar on Stone Cold's podcast?
For me it started off ultra boring but soon got going once we darted talking about the past. Was a bit annoying how eager he was to show his disinterest in sports entertainment, and is clearly just in it for the money, but that's nothing new. Was good though.
Austin on RAW though.. what was the point? Purely to advertise the podcast? Lame. Didn't even stunner anyone.
Hoping it's Bryan, Sami Zayn or Joe to face Cena. Anyone else I will be pissed off.
.....
Nobody should ever stay in character for those podcast shows, it'd be awful.
The end of the Paul Haymen one where they fake argue was so bad it almost spoilt what had gone before it.
To be fair, they've pulled it right out of the bag with Del Rio. Noone saw that coming.
Because we didn't they they'd be that dense
Please explain.
He's more bland than Sheamus. Great matches, like, but a boring creature.
Should have been Carlito.
My memes are in tatters.
lol what. Cleanest loss ever.
Is he going to beat him down, or what?
Wyatt loses another feud. yay
Has Wyatt ever won a feud? Also when did Kofi stop being from Jamaica?
Steve Merchant on the front row
So does this mean Undertaker is Sister Abigail?
ADR is a good worker. not a fan of him though, did get stale towards his last run. As long as he don't use the armbar as his main finisher I'm fine with it.
Did expect the Wyatts to come out after seeing the SS promo. They are just glorified jobbers now.
I was marking out for Del Rio.
It all went downhill after that. It was obvious that something was going to happen at the end, since it was running short and no way was 'Taker going out at a secondary pay pay view, but lol at the Wyatt Family being involved.
Massive lol at him for being a hypocrite.
Hope they get Del Rio to cut some actual promos. When he talks in English he sounds like the kind of person that would hold your family hostage because he has nothing to do on an evening.
I like to think Jack Swagger was behind the curtain, ready to go, having seen Zeb Colter was booked.
He's god boring as a face.
I suppose Cena will join Taker's survivor series team and get taken out by the Wyatts - Hoping Brock then be his replacement :youpi: What a pop he'll get!
Cena's out for 2 months
I know, but they'll need a reason as to why in storyline mode.
He's alive! Batista and Shane McMahon at the Spectre Premier.
I always imagined Shane would come back to the WWE once Vince goes, it would make more sense than handing the multi-billion dollar reins to HHH and watching him get lolled out of the boardroom.
The state of this cancer segment on Raw. Triple Haitch could get some proper heel heat if he recalled all the 'malignant tits I've taken care of', but no, he just stands there looking like a pleb.
Dean Ambrose is actually Roman Reigns' valet now isn't he?
