The Weather Thread (Sponsored by the Autumn Equinox 2015)

The weather is really providing some excellent shadenfreude. A few people I know from my hometown are heavily involved with the rugby club and were sharing memes on facebook earlier about how everyone was soft for worrying but they were hard as true Cumbrians. The beer tent marquis area at the club has been ramraided by the storm and they've had to postpone their next fixture :D

Similarly a guy I know I foolishly thought was more intelligent than this posted earlier that he didn't know what all the fuss was about, and it was playing out weather when he was a kid. Just posted a frantic appeal on facebook because the roof has blown off his summer house :D

This is exactly why I held off saying it was a load of piss and wind, but it was.

The alleged snow didn't turn up for us.

Franklin is every bit as bad as Eunice here anyway.

South East Queensland is copping proper end of days flooding ATM with a handful of towns suffering from the worst flooding in recorded history.

Im perfectly fine my place is halfway up a long street however woman died in flood waters 1 suburb over.





I'll temp the puddles tomorrow morning and report back.

You guys do seem to get semi-regular flooding, which is a bit baffling when you're permanently on fire too.

Is it just that you don't get any rain at all for years, and then half the Indian Ocean falls on you in 2 days?

It's been pretty weird here today.

It seems to be going from a sunny 10c with no wind to 2/3c with plenty of wind and snow flurries every 45 minutes or so.

It's currently snowing here while the sun is out.

Yeah, we've just had a couple of pretty heavy snow flurries.

Was 4 degrees and sleet this morning, with pleasant sunshine in the afternoon. :cab:

I was in London when it was 36 about 5 years back and it was brutal. The tube was unbearable. Must have been well above 40.

I was in Bath last summer when it was 34. I got absolutely steaming off about 5 Pimms. Glorious.

That's what it comes down to. It's all good when you can enjoy it. Ideally a pool / beach and cold drinks. It's absolutely shit to work and commute in.

Looks like it's only getting to 23 degrees here. Honestly, there's always a breeze going so it's been nice to get out in it.

Anything above 32° is sickening.

Yeah that's just unpleasant. Had similar in Cyprus and it's just hide indoors weather. Is household Aircon widespread over there or are they as fucked as we would be?

Twenty seven here. I went for a sixteen mile walk and I think I was sweating out my eyes.

30ish and I'm in Southend (well Shoeburyness to be exact). It's quite nice.

You're either in Shoebury or it's nice, both of those things cannot be true at the same time.

This heat gives me migraines.
