I know we don't, that's why I said "it feels like". There are exceptions and obviously theres confirmation bias based on what those I know earn.
However, when it comes to "normal" jobs, (public servants, emergency services, office work, etc), wages are basically 30 - 40k across the board and minimum wage is slowly creeping up on that too.
I've just got my payslip and seen I've been done for £640 student loan this month. SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE.

To be fair, I didn't take the financial support part for 2 years because I wasn't given a National Insurance Number at 16 (due to also being out of the country) and was grandfathered into the old grants because of my age so my total payout for it all was probably 5k or so.
