The comedy show. Mclaren really need to sort things out here
Red Bull sabotaged Perez there.
That's not a top 10 I expected to see when I turned this on.
Yeah, it’s going to be a madness.
If both Williams don’t fuck up at the start, good luck getting past that DRS train in the straights
That Ferrari message about track limits. :D
It was track limits for Verstappen but they opened with, "Track limits at turn ..." so LeClerc punched his steering wheel thinking it was him.
I think I like him.Quote:
Verstappen was less polite. "Monaco is like Champions League and this is National League."
Verstappen, who does not like street tracks, said: "I feel like a show element is important, but I lack emotion."
He said classic tracks such as Spa and Monza "have a lot of emotion and passion".
Of Las Vegas, he said: "Of course I understand fans need something to do around the track, but it is more important we make them understand what we do about the sport.
"I love Vegas, but not to drive a F1 car; to go out, throw everything on red, whatever. But the emotion and passion is not there compared to some old-school tracks."
When Verstappen was told by Dutch television that fans who were sent home before second practice were offered $200 in vouchers for the race merchandise store as compensation, he said: "If I was a fan, I would tear the whole place down."
He's been like that all season, the whole interview is great.
They got rid of the cool-down room. Too scared of what Verstappen might say :D
He's not wrong.
Alright, he's won me over. I do love it when champions get to that point where they can start speaking their mind.
He's right but he's still a massive bellend who I want to see taken out of a race.
No matter how big a dickhead he is in many ways, he's a real racer and understands the sport. Liberty don't have a clue.
Both Vettel and Hamilton have done the same albeit not quite as bluntly, then again they were also given significantly less bollocks to complain about.
Max loves to run man out wide.
Aston to overtake Mclaren at this rate.
I thought this was to start at 6?
While I think Max should give the place back, it seemed like Charles overshot the corner by himself.
Leclerc must have the worst pole to win conversion rate
Congrats to the director for some how cutting away from onboard with Verstappen as he was about to send at 200mph.
Perez letting Leclerc through at the end
Someone at the front needs to brake-check Verstappen whenever he's doing those stupid lunges.
I dont understand why everyone keeps letting him have the inside for corners. Not one of his cleanest wins it seems.
What that has done is close it right up between Merc/Ferrari(4 points) and McLaren/Aston(11 points). Something actually at stake for the final race at least.
The P2 grid slot is very beneficial for these cars. With it being on the inside line, the car is so big that you can just park it on the apex and everyone (except Verstappen, ironically) gets out of the way for it.
You'd think other drivers would start doing likewise seeing as he's cleaning up.
I think it's probably not as easy as we think, after all if any of them could drive as well as he can they would be doing it. Has anyone else other than Hamilton in 21 stood their ground with him to any great degree? And even then that was with decidedly mixed results not to mention Red Bull screaming attempted murder every time he did it.
The only people who have ever driven that way are him and Schumacher, you have to be unbelievably committed on the brakes.
It was easier to combat in the older cars because they were smaller so you could keep your foot in round the outside and sometimes have success. With these cruise liners, there's only one line so if someone is committed/aggressive enough to park it up the inside then the other guy is fucked.
Tracks aren't getting any wider, especially in this era of Liberty Media Street Racing, so they really need to do something about car sizes soon.
You should still be able to cover the inside but I guess the reason no one does it is that if you compromise your line at all then the Red Bull will just absolutely wreck you on the next straight/at the next cornering section so there's really not a lot of point fighting it.
2026 apparently. I won’t hold my breath. After all the 2022-25 regulations were meant to eliminate a lot of the dirty air and that didn’t last long.
50kg lighter.
Doubt that'll amount to much.
That would take them back to 2020 weights.
Problem is unless they mandate the cars be smaller(which they can't really be if they insist on hybrid engines), then the boffins will engineer their way around downforce reductions etc.
Looks like they're re-naming Alpha Tauri to something....equally awful?

Scrap that idea lads.
MooMooVroomVroom would've been better.
Racing Bulls sounds like a Viagra knock-off.
Are they allergic to naming it something that isn't highly similar to an existing team? 'Toro Rosso' was far better than either of these.
It's Red Bull, nothing associated with that brand has ever been remotely tasteful in any sense of the word.
Speaking of which, the story of the day has been how Hamilton/Red Bull had contact earlier in the year about a potential drive. Horner seems to be trying to stir the pot by putting it out there. Of course I'm 100% sure even just feelers were sent out, as both sides would be stupid not to.
Must be a slow day in the paddock.
Hamilton basically said as much himself. Just feelers, no direct conversations.
Max would likely have the measure of him over a season by this point, but even giving it to him at some races would be an improvement on the status quo.
I mean the competition between Ricciardo and Verstappen blew up a season and Danny 'Ric' Ricciardo is shit so imagine actual competition.
If you're Lewis Hamilton at the end of a contract and your agent isn't checking out the options on offer from other top teams then he should fire them immediately. Similarly if you're Red Bull and the most successful driver ever is coming to the end of a contract then you'd be stupid to dismiss the idea out of hand. It's like when a young driver is said to be 'on the radar' of any particular team, yeah of course they are, all the teams monitor all the decent prospects all of the time. They may not stand any chance of actually signing them but they'd be terrible at their jobs if they weren't doing all these things constantly, because occasionally mad stuff happens and Marc Marquez bins Honda and joins Gresini.
Yeah the motorbike thread is dead so let’s take this chance to discuss Marquez to Gresini. Ducati factory team must be absolutely shitting themselves at the prospect of Marquez winning the championship on a year-old bike.
Nobody ever won it on a satellite bike, have they? I guess the closest (in terms of package) in recent years was the Tech3 Yamahas. I just love the idea Marquez has finally said, "Fuck it. Can't ride this thing." after years of trying.
