Prices aren't going down either yet, in fact they've risen significantly. Pogba is now 60k more than he was a week or so ago.
Yeah I think we have had the 'crash' on the big lesser packed players. We might get a dip after the weekend but thats the normal cycle at the moment
On the plus side, I'm picking up 82 rated's for fun.
Did the third one, got nothing.
Given the luck I've had while streaming on here I think I'll save them all up and open in one go.
Might do a few of the league SBC's as well.
The 2* W/F on Sturridge is very frustrating. Judging the card on the base stats and it looks excellent, I would have spent 300K on it.

I saw someone say basic. Which might be a first, but worth considering before you shell out for a chem style card.

As an update, I added Mane and managed a good snipe on Van Dijk(114k, he's currently over 150k). Red Wijnaldum and Mahrez both come in and see Fernandinho and Salah leave. Red Willian drops to the bench.
That left me with 610k and staring at the SBC screen. I looked at Aguero, but then decided fuck it, I'll take Dannys advice. I ended up doing Aubameyang for bang on 500k with help from some in-club items. Unfortunately the packs were not kind and I barely have 30k worth of players back. Still what it means is this for the team:

I'm certainly hoping so! Unless I get a different card to the loan somehow I should be good. The best part is there are still upgrades to make. Hazard, Pogba, De Gea and Kante still to come.
I have both CMs set to stay back whilst attacking. My theory here is that when I told Fernandinho to do that he still pushed forward so why not put someone a little fasted and technically better in?
Fabinho is very good, but is limited going forward. If for example I'm springing a counter, him being the one getting furthest forward can slow it right down or even trip me up. His height is a big bonus and he always seems to be in the right place defensively(I do switch to a pure 4-2-3-1 in tighter games). Added extra is he is great at penalties, which is useful in auto-assigned shootouts.
I don't touch Firmino at all.
I'll let you know if Wijnaldum is up to the task.
Okay I've played 7 games of the WL. Had to stop as my batteries have died on my controller and there's no others in the house.
I've really gotten the hang of the timed finishes with Aubameyang and if you do it rifles into the net. The addition of him and VVD at corners has helped massively too. They're proving a nuisance as both ends and I'm sure VVD has 3 goals already.
Wijnaldum feels like an upgrade on Fernandinho. He does get caught a bit more out of position but he is a lot faster to make up the ground. Much improved going forward too.
I'm 7-0 for now, but a marathon session will be needed tomorrow if I'm to fit even most of my games in. I don't have a lot of time this weekend so I'll settle for getting into Gold.

Problem is everyone has been selling off teams and waiting for Yesterday/Today. For example Van Dijk. Popular in meta teams and possibly the best CB in the Premier League teams. Kompany is usually a safe bet when he is around the 11K mark. I have bought and flipped him since launch.
He went from 10K to 19K when the Sturridge card was released and I expect the same again when an attractive high rated SBC is released.
David Silva as well, bought him yesterday morning for 35K and sold him in the evening for 50K. He is back down to 35K now.
Hard to judge players prices now until the repeatable SBCs go away. If I were trader smart like some of you I'd be rolling in it.

Aiming for a first FUT Champs appearance next week, I'm only 6 points off from redeeming - not sure what to expect when I take part. I've been grinding a lot of Squad Battles instead this weekend - up to Elite 3 now so a decent return. However, some of the fucking squads you come up against must have the shittiest custom tactics applied. I faced off against an 89 rated, 100 chem squad (only World Class, not fully confident on Legendary), and there were 4 shots all game. Won 2-1 and ran out the last 25 mins passing it around the final third with all 10 outfielders for the AI sitting deep and just crabbing across. Absolute bore.
If you're Div 4 and up in Rivals you'll enjoy it I think. I've been hovering in Div 4 since starting the game, only this past week deciding to take the step up to 3.Quote:

My 2 bits of advice would be to get good at shutting down outside the D to stop timed finesse shots. The other is get used to people trying to play ping-pong passes through you. That's say 70% of opponents wrapped up there.
Pick a target that's realistic too. Maybe start at 11 wins(that's the number needed to automatically re-qualify next week). The look to 14 wins for the player pick pack improvement. Same again for 17 wins and then on to 20 etc.

Both losses saw me about even with my opponent. The one that hurt was the first. I was 2-0 up and he came back to snatch it in extra time. He had prime Henry up front who was a nightmare all game.
The 2nd loss saw me playing a guy with POTM Hazard and Mbappe on his bench. He also has prime Maradona, Messi and Dybala playing in behind Suarez. I did my best and even had a massive chance to go 2-1 up, but Courtois somehow saved a Mahrez to Aubameyang cut back from 5 yards out. He went straight up the other end and scored.
As for the team, Mane is doing okay, but how crisp Mahrez feels on the ball leads me to want Hazard over there. Wijnaldum is very good for his price. However against your top tier teams he can struggle a little. I'd love to add Pogba in there. The defence is pretty perfect now VVD is there and he keeps adding goals from corners too.
I'm not sure how many games I'll be able to play tomorrow if any at all, but I'll be happy to stop here if not.

Get someone who can whip them in, you don't want it being floated into the box.
Check to see who I have towards the near corner of the 6 yard box. Usually I have Aubameyang there with Van Dijk off towards the penalty spot. Make sure it's an in-swinger and give it 3/4 power aiming at the corner of the 6 yard box.
I'm 14 and 8 and I'm not playing anymore. I can't handle the constant pressure and tika-taka passing style. I can't figure out how to counter or stop it, I try and cut passing lanes but it just does not work. Yet when I have the ball, the opponenets plays can just sprint into me and come out with the ball. So fucking annoying.
Constant pressure looks like it will be much less effective after the update which is due shortly (already out for PC users). Someone on Reddit posted a picture of a team using constant pressure and the stamina bars were at 0 after the game.

I don't understand why EA don't do something about the unassigned 'glitch'. I am reading stories of people having 800+ Kepa cards sat unassigned which they are now listing for profit.

I got Khedira in the 85+ upgrade from a 75 rated untradeable team of largely Swiss and Argentine league golds. So that’s nice.

Decided to redeem my free draft token this morning. Ended up getting to the final and lost due to a shot coming from the edge of the box. I moved the keeper to have it covered but it hit my defender in the face and went flying into the other corner.

Decided to sell Roberto Carlos. He's probably the best player I've used but he doesn't really influence games enough from left back so I thought the coins would be better spent elsewhere. The free kicks were insane though. I can barely hit the target with other players and I scored several over the ~50 games I used him for.
Brought in Shearer and him and Reus are ridiculously effective together. Has anyone used Makelele? I went for Keane because of price (sniped him for under 700K) and the formers complete lack of shooting stats does put me off.
That team looks like a lot of fun. I used baby Keane when he was in the 400’s and really liked him. Sold for a nice profit but nothing like now. Makalele is someone I really want to try but not sure I can commit that money to him right now!
Champions league games this week, expecting another SBC so I really need to flip my Mendys today.
That looks a very good team indeed. Icons feel like a big jump on normal players this year too so I imagine Shearer bangs them in for fun. I used the 88 version of Best in that draft run and he's the best player on the ball I've used yet.
It's a shame they've killed the Icon market for anyone without the mega bucks though. I was going to suggest turning that Keane into the SBC and picking up Makelele. It'd cost you about 400k on top of turning him in, but there's only 2 hours left to do it so I doubt you will.
I don't think I'd ever do one of those icon SBCs just for the fact that the player is untradable.
Just checked and 90 Makelele is going for around 1.1m on Xbox right now. Seems like the SBC would cost around 1m (minus any pack pulls) but you have an untradable you can never really get rid of (short of sinking more coins and throwing them back into another icon SBC).
If you wanted Giggs for example then that SBC makes no sense whatsoever as you can just buy him from the market for less than 800k.
I think the majority of Baby icons (obviously not Pele etc.) should be price capped (~400k?) as often they aren't any better than some of the meta players and thus will never see play.

I've just finished up the Hybrid league and nations SBC group. Didn't manage to pull anything from the packs unfortunately, but did pick up a fair few 82s and 83s. I tried my luck at the untradeable TOTW last night and got Orban.
I'm tempted to try once more. The 2nd player can then move into 1 go at the tradeable TOTW if a bad pull. It's got to be worth a punt, but I see a lot of people getting a walkout only to be trolled by Ziyech.

I reckon 86 Thomas Muller could be a good investment. He's falling to about the lowest he's been since the game came out which is just under 16k. Any form of high rated SBC, whether that be Icon or a future Flashback will surely use him. He's a decent nationality and in a popular league to boot.
Oof. I’ve been anticipating a flashback Pato for a while - it’s tbe obvious one from CSL. I’m experimenting with 442 and he obviously links well with my three integral CSL Brazilians so it’s a no brainer for me.
It's the kind of card you're 50/50 on doing now as it is so good, but then when it comes around to me needing a Brazilian striker in a month or twos time I'll kill to have him in.

I started following a guy called Imaduckquackk on Twitter and he was telling everyone a week before it happened to stock up on 82s and 83s ready for the TOTW SBC. I followed along and when the SBC did drop everyone who did it is doubling and tripling their coins. Annoyingly his best tips are hidden behind a paywall now. You have to subscribe to his Twitch channel to get the good stuff.
He did post this last week though and I'll be interested to see if any of you guys have success with it.

I picked up Mahrez last night and also Renato Sanches today. Guaranteed upgrade in a couple of weeks so see how that works out.

Ive been testing my theory on pressing and it is too strong. It is super effective on getting your players once they lose the ball to be touch tight to the player receiving it. It also helps you tackle as your defender will just auto still sprint to the ball and somewhat auto-tackle. The difference between playing the team press and not is huge.
It really is annoying to play against. Down and right on the d-pad. I have no choice but to play it as I have no other way to combat it. Nerfing the stamina will not be enough as it is a tactic that can be turned on and off. It needs to be toned down. If the long ball was effective, it could counter it but the long ball does not work either.

Ive got every player from the Japan league as I thought the price would have been an Iniesta or Torres but the 84 Podolski and 84 Jo, just isnt bringing hype to the card. I suspect they have other plans for Iniesta and Torres. Probably flashbacks. A cool idea would be flashforwards thinking about it. Imagine getting a flashfoward card of his youngster who is scouted as the next big thing under the same idea as a flashback

Fortunately I’ve been using the Imaduckquack methods (big league players and 82-84’s at discard prices) since he was a fledgling in the reddit boards doing the MM predictions, off my own back as from a couple of months into 17 it was clear it was the way to go. There’s always value in a player eventually.
Packed a duplicate IF Olsen from the MMs. Not much else exciting, but a Parma GK worth 3k and the other duplicates worth 1.5k means I’ve not regretted trading in the other 4 schalke players I would otherwise have sold for 16k. Decent night of profit.

After moving to Div 3, every game thus far has featured Ronaldo on the other team. I don't think I've ever seen him miss the target either.
Just played another crazy game that ended 5-4 in my favour. I went 4-3 up in the 88th minute too. I also hate what they have done with stamina. From about the 70th minute, both sides are dead on their feet. It does however make substitutions more effective.
It's also a little easier to slip a through ball in now. It being auto-cut out has been toned down a little, however I've got so ingrained into not playing the pass for that very reason it'll take me a while to get used to it.
Had 0 points tonight but I decided to play a handful of games and I'm at rank 3 (with 4190 points) and should stay there.
Really liking the team bar Arnautovic who I'm just not sure about. Kroos has been firing in goals today and Anderson and Sterling are a constant threat.
I was shafted by Flashback Sturridge in my last match and it's a shame his SBC is done now as he'd have fit in nicely.

I played about 5 games last night with the new patch and it now appears you are rewarded for my defending style which is trying to cut passing lanes. I didn't win every game, but the games that I lost. I didnt feel like I was out the gaem from minute 1 becuase of the high press and clossing down. It maybe early, but I liked it. Im still in division 5. I havent been releagted or promoted from it yet.

One more question - would you guys say it would be better to use one squad and fitness cards, or rotate between two every couple of games? In terms of player value, I'm sure I will have one of the more budget offerings in FUT Champions so I'm not fussed either way really.
Depends how desperate your need for coins. If you go down the squad fitness route, you can end up paying 1,300+ per card in which case you'll be playing the games for almost nothing but the eventual reward for your placement.Quote:

I’ll play him at CB or RB in the the Scottish team I’ll be building up over the year (I do it every year in homage to my original FUT 09 team off all Scots, and just use them in the final few weeks once there’s a few IF’s and a TOTS or two). I’ve got Red IF Robertson, red SIF Forrest and IF Fraser who all look fun so at some stage I’ll definitely do Tierney. McGregor, Armstrong or McGinn In-forms would do nicely, but mainly needing a striker and a couple of IF CBs since the wide areas are sorted and the aforementioned CMs NIF cards are ok enough.
I have about 80 squad fitness cards in the club so I wouldn't be worried about that. I might give it a go with just one team and keep track of how everyone performs over the 30 games. Will be interesting to see how well POTM Sancho actually fares throughout.Quote:

First game in and I was fearing the worst. 2-0 down inside the opening 10 minutes, a finesse from Mertens and breakaway goal from Belotti. Calmed down, and got back in the game, pulled one back just before break thanks to Scream Koke. Second half, I had the measure of him and quickly equalised, and snatched the win through Thiago of all people thumping a shot in from the edge of the box with 8 minutes to go. Pleased to get the first win already!
SBCs have kinda created a problem, along with the rewards getting more generous. In previous FUTs (prior to 16), I’d regularly pitch up against Saudi and Russian IFs in div 1. Now, with more and more special cards, more cash, more investment opportunities and more emphasis on winning the best rewards... everyone needs their most effective teams out. There’s no variety. 4 years ago people would have lost their shit for that Tierney as a tournament reward. There was also the broken chem years, and the years where no one trusted it, which led to really interesting 50 chem sides all over the place. I like the chem system, but it needs overhauling if the fan base really want that variety back (which the hardcore redditors seem to).Quote:

I've been looking into what team to build and looked at the pros to see what they have.

Neymar seems a must as he's the best LW in the game, but it's a question of what I link it up to if I chose him.

First weekend well underway and I'm 7-6 so far. Really pleased with some wins, but had a 5 match losing streak last night where I was either matched up against some unreal teams, or I was not clinical enough in taking chances.
Just had one of those wins that are so fucking satisfying. Matched up with a 5-3-2 team with POTM Aubameyang, POTM Hazard, 3 or 4 RTTF cards. Held out for 0-0 till extra time when I took the lead, but a kick off and finesse goal put me behind until Thiago equalised in the 122nd minute. Saved 3 penalties and won it in sudden death. Fucking brilliant.

Custom tactics lets you do exactly that. Switch without pausing.
You start the game on "balanced" and then use one of the other 4 slots to set what you actually want to play. You can set all the aggression levels, player positions etc however you want at each level and just choose what you want. So started start with Eriksen at CDM and Fabinho at CAM on balances but set "Defensive" to be what you want above + how you want to play. You would still have "V Defensive" to use when if you ever go that way and then the two more attacking ones to go "up" to.
I did it when I wanted to test 4-2-3-1 as my new formation and had no issues. Well, except for not getting on with that formation but thats a different story!
Yeah you really need to set up some custom tactics. The ability to move your formation about without your opponent being immediately obvious to it is essential.
I use all 4 of my other slots in most games. The only one I really struggle with is a "shut the game down" tactic.
That's great and opens up so many more options. I was thinking to myself earlier that I don't find many people pausing at the start of games anymore.
I have listed my entire squad to fund the change. Just waiting for them to sell!
The important things to do are:
1. Make sure you have a set up that allows you to go very defensive and very offensive set up.
2. Everyone starting on as much chemistry as possible is vital. Once you get into game Neymar will still have 10 chem at RB.
3. Make sure when you set the formation for step 1, you change where the players are. For example there's no point in going into a 4-1-2-1-2 if Neymar gets shoved to CDM and Fabinho becomes your striker.
Chuffed to already be 11-9 and Silver 1, with re-qualification assured for next week. To be honest I didn't expect to be over 50% win rate this weekend! What rank do the better player picks appear at?
Silver 1 gets you access to any of the players in the picks, but you get more than one pick when you hit gold 3.
Nice, hopefully should be able to make that tomorrow. Definitely finding it more enjoyable that pretty much any other gameplay in FUT at the moment, I really should have shelved Squad Battles long ago.
9-1 from my first 10 games. I've used exclusively the new super team. I'm loving Mbappe, Neymar and Griezmann, but Suarez, not so much. The card seems a bit of a clunky mess and I can't wait to get Messi in there.
The difference in passing in this team is unreal too. I've come up against a few high pressing good players in that run, but a substitution in the 65th or so minute to bring on a Mane, Mahrez or Aubameyang soon gets the better of them.
I felt the same in my first-weekend league. Jumped straight into gold 3. Ive been gold 2-3 since week one though. You don't get better player picks with higher ranks. You just get more player picks. Gold 3 gets two players and gold 1 gets three I believe.Quote:

Lerma going up to 87/88 with a good chemstyle just shows he has the attributes in the right places. Then you have to look at things like WR's, height and, for me personally, agility, balance, reactions and stamina. He comes out decently, for how much he would cost, in those areas.

Getting to grips with the patch. Have played 19 games today, having not played for 10 days and am sat on 12 wins, not my finest but should hit Gold 2 as my minimum standard.
I need to get better at pens, 3 losses were in shootouts and another 3 I missed pens in during the game.
I was watching the EA stream earlier today and I noticed that most of the pro players had the 87 IF Sandro at left back and the 85 UCL Walker at RB.
Are they really the best options in the entire game? It isn't like they were adding them for chemistry because they were able to choose any players in the game (including icons).
Is there a way to tell which players whip the ball in on corners before using them?
I've got Red IF Chilwell in the team now and he's lethal from them.
Sandro is a tank, though I have dropped him to my B team since getting UCL Live Telles, who shades him going forward due to his agility/balance. I think Lalla and IF Cancelo are far better than Walker, but chem dictates the value of both.

Played on a little last night. Hit my 11 wins pretty quick so decided to take it to 14. Every damn game was 5-4 one way or the other. I think I ended 14-3 or 14-4.
My main formation is 4-2-3-1 with the 3 CAMs and I was experimenting with leaving them all forward whilst I defend. It's definitely harder to keep people out. It does save on Stamina though so it's an interesting trade off.

Okay so I was planning on getting Messi and Ramos in to finish the team, but god damn that Dani Alves card. FUTBIN reckons 275k to do it, but it's got to be done hasn't it?
Card does look beastly and statistically, it is the second best right back behind zanetti. That LOW defensive work rate looks awful though. I haven't played with any full back with less than HIGH defensive workrate so I dont know how they work. The moment an opponent plays a through ball to Sane and Dani Alves is nowhere, Im going to be furious.
I guess the best comparison is going to be Marcelo. I almost exclusively tell my full backs to stay back, but I'm looking at a situation where I'll have 2 with High/Low. If they bomb on as they please, I'll be golden in attack but lost defensively.
I have been watching other people to see how they go about it and I came across Bateson who went 30-0 last weekend. He plays the narrow 4-1-2-1-2 but asks his full backs to bomb on at all times. It's like going complete overload in FM and he pens people right in. Looks crazy but it seems to work for him.
I am tempted to have a game or two in SBs with Alves regular card. See how he behaves.

I’ve been allowing the full backs more freedom in the 4231 I’m experimenting with and I love it.
I doubt much would top Bale and tots Kimmich from 18 though as they could both score goals as well. Absolutely ravaged squad battles with that set up, so it’s tempting to go for it again.
I used the regular Dani Alves exclusively this weekend in FUT Champions - I really like him on the ball and he doesn't feel too bad defensively. The flashback card looks utterly mental and I'm very close to just forking out for it. It would be one of the top 3 RBs until April/May, no doubt.
Speaking of FUT Champions, I ended up not playing Sunday night, so finished 11-9 for my first weekend. Pretty pleased overall with how it went.

Sancho was really fun to use, the ball felt like it was stuck to him, and with a Sniper card, his finishing was good enough to get by. Alcacer is a bit sluggish at times but so effective when shooting. I'd occasionally replace him with Rodrigo if I needed a bit more zip up front. I've just played a couple of games with Alves.
If you have him set to stay back whilst attacking, he will do just that. I have Marcelo on the other side too and he does the exact same as Alves.
However on my 4-1-2-1-2 I removed it and set it to balanced attacking. This is when it became interesting. He behaves exactly as he would have during his Barca days. In your half he will creep forward a little, probably getting about level with your CDM. Once you get into the final 3rd he will(and Marcelo did) absolutely act as a winger. The compromising thing here is I noticed on this setting he was only jogging back after possession loss. I didn't manage to notice him every time, but he was definitely doing it a few times. You will absolutely need a CDM that will not go forward.
In summary:

- Fantastic going forward on the ball
- Good forward movement off the ball
- Long shots very good
- Crossing very good
- Fantastic aggressive tacking
- Great recovery speed
Cons
- Height
- Strength. He's not going to push anyone strong off the ball
- Can be caught out of position if allowed to overlap
- Stamina is okay, but not amazing
Overall
If you have the pieces to link to him already or can afford them, this is a no-brainer. If not you have a decision to make. He'll cost you 275k from scratch and you'll be lucky to make much back. Then there's linking him. You're looking at having to play either some form of Kimpembe or Mbappe. Both are easy to link out to, but it's more expense.
I'd give a score of 8.5/10. He's not quite perfect, but he's damn close. I'd recommend anyone thinking of doing it to get it done. The only caveat is if you prefer a defensive full back.
However at 90 rated, he's +4 on the next available RB in game that isn't an Icon. Even then, that's Kimmich.
Good review. I not doing him purely becuase of the low defensive work rate. It sounds like it does not matter too much, but I want to stick to my prem team. I regretted not doing Juan Fran and I may regret doing Dani Alves also.

New TOTW looks okay. A few obvious choices you'd want as your reds. I really hope this isn't the week they chuck me a mega red and give me Aubameyang. But pretty much anything 83 and below is useless, bar Bakayoko. Anything 84 and up is going to be either usable or great SBC fodder.
Speaking of SBCs, I reckon these reds are going to come in useful sooner or later for them. Annoyingly this year they have made them not count as TOTW items in SBCs, so you'd think there'll be something coming along where you'll need them. Maybe FUTmas?

Nothing in the packs either but I can't complain after recent luck. Though I'm now ever so slightly shy of 800k in the bank. I'm very close to Messi(860k) but not by enough that I can raise it this weekend.
Ive got some time so im selling all the silver and bronze players for SBCs. The Japan league didnt get the momentum i was hoping so most cards sell for less than 1k which is still good. I had all the players from Turkish league which i also need to sell.
I'm doing all the value SBC's for a pack opening spree.
I may well do the same as it'll be my only way of earning coin before next Thursday. This is the flaw with the current system a big chunk of coins is only available once a week and there's a limit on it.
Also I was looking at what I could use my coins for in the meantime. The thing that came to mind was Icons. I'm now in the ball park of affording some. The likes of Shevchenko, RvN, Kluivert, Owen, Shearer and Trezeguet are available to me(their base and middle cards) or a proper midfield destroyer is there. Middle Makelele is there too, but so is every version of Gattuso. Also if I wanted someone a bit left field the likes of Litmanen, Deco, Hagi or Nakata are there.
All of those options would pretty much wipe out all of my coins remaining though.

You get the exact same boost to defensive stats except you have 72 strength with Sentinel instead of 67 and 99 stand tackle instead of 97. However with Anchor you get a boost to his speed.
Hammered through 14 SBC's, so with the untradeable division rivals rewards now sat on 20.
Need to do Dani Alves tonight and then carry on cracking through the SBC's. Loads of value ones in there now.

Games like FIFA, you cant be playing the previous version while the current version is out. Its just not right. For me, they should close down the servers of the game once the new one is 6 months old.
Regretting buying this already. Since the start of fifa 18 (maybe 17?) I've just been so awful. I genuinely don't know what I'm doing wrong. I was never that good, but kinda passable, able to get to div 2/3 on FUT. I'm 0-1-10 so far on this one. Defensively massive shit show, after years of spamming whatever the pressure button is on sprint it takes all of my effort to not do that, but when I try to "jockey" and back off, the other team just passes through me and scores. Going forward i'm constantly getting into a situation where I'm in an advanced position with the player on the ball, but all the other players on my team are like 15 yards behind me. Whereas my opponents seem to be able to make about 4 passes from where they win the ball in their box and suddenly they have about 7 players on 2.
Any obvious advice to be less shit??

Gameplay has felt very off tonight. It's felt like a thousand mph. I'm not even sure if that's in a good way either. I'm usually in control of games with 55-60% possession, but tonight saw me struggle to hold the ball against constant pressure. The one thing I did a bit more was knock it around the back. I let them sprint at me all game and then pounced late on.
I'm using red Batsman up top for now to fill in the gap. Once I can afford Messi, he'll drop into the CAM spot and I'll play Griezmann as the striker. This team is so enjoyable going forward. If I ever find myself through on goal now I have full confidence I'm scoring.

Hmm so he'd replace Modric in my team if he came in. Modric can be sold for 55k so this Kroos would only really cost 30-40k then take away anything earned back in the packs.
He's slower than Modric, and is worse on the ball, with 1 star less skills and 13 less stamina. However, he's taller by a fair amount, is a much better in the final 3rd, has a 5* weak foot and is 16 points stronger as well as being a bit of a better defender.
2-2 after 4 games in FutChamps. Aborted the 4-2-3-1 after the first three games and the 4th match felt much better going back to the 4-3-2-1.

On further reflection, that Kroos card is a marginal upgrade on the previous card and has now risen to 110k. It's still there for 6 days in case I change my mind but for now it's a no from me.
I've not been happy with my midfield myself but I can fix it in a big way if I drop the Messi plan. It'd mean bringing in Fabinho, Mbappe and either Kante or Pogba. Mbappe would replace Bale on the right(lol at Bale being 50k more than what I bought him for on Thursday) on the right. Was moving to the 4-2-3-1, but I realised I'm rubbish with it. Couldn't get the outside CAM's to do much and worse still, couldn't get Dani Alves into the game at all. 9 games from him with no goals and no assists. Switched back to 4-3-2-1 and he's gone 3-1-1 now and been a constant threat. I've gone bollocks to trying to reign him in, stuck a Sniper on him and he's causing havoc. Absolute joy to play with he his.
3-3 now, could have been 5-1 and definitely should have been 4-2. I've had two rage quits so far, which is more than I've managed in an entire weekend before.

Pound for pound the best player in the game for me.
5* weak foot is so valuable in a forward. Especially one quite dainty and able to shift the ball quickly. Very nearly a goal contribution per game is a great return.
After seeing you added Pogba I decided to try it myself. Brought in Fabinho to keep Neymar on 10, Mbappe to link it all up and then brought POTM Aubameyang back in. The frenetic gameplay seems to have stuck around. But it seems to suit me well. The added height and strength in midfield is also a big bonus. I've got myself up to 11-0 but am out of time tonight. I don't really have time tomorrow either which is a shame, considering we could well see Messi, Kante, Son and Salah in this TOTW.

Fancy using that Kroos in place of Rabiot. First game of the day and it's the third win in a row to go 6-5 and Silver 3.
It was one of those games where the opposition sat back for almost the whole game. I had 70% of the ball and loads of speculative chances, hitting the woodwork too. As it wore on I felt sure I was going to lose, but Pogba stepped up in the 90th minute with the winner.

The streak was finally stopped at 15. I've now had 2 absolutely excruciating losses back-to-back. The first saw me lose pushing in extra time. I'm shit at penalties so I tried for the winner and got stung.

There's just enough of a boost to make it worthwhile since I was already of a mind to give him a go anyway. Plus, I can see myself building out further La Liga links this year. Got rid of quite a few untradeables too. The constant stream of 85/86 red cards is helping this year. I've stopped for a break. Managed to stop the rot and improved to 18-2. The last win has me needing a break. The guy was an ultimate ping-pong passer that I just played stupidly against. He went 2-0 up quickly. By then I got a bit used to him and managed to spring one counter on him, then some nice play saw it 2-2. He then raced into a 4-2 lead and I thought fuck it. Switched to 4-1-2-1-2 with the full backs pushing on. Overturned it inside 15 in game minutes. 3 lots of RB + Y through to Mbappe. Worked a treat. He sent me a message after the game telling me EA and I had just cost him Elite. A message back and forth indicated that was his last game and he finished 22-8.
10 games remaining puts me in the exact spot I didn't want to be in. Given the state of the potential TOTW I need to be getting into Gold 1. But a 5-5 record from here would get me Elite. The last thing I need is to do as the guy I just faced did and miss out on the last game having sacrificed a lot of sleep. I'm going to have to try though.
10 games from here shouldn't be too bad Fox. I've got no chance of finishing my games, currently 7-6, so I will aim for Silver 1 and just see how long I have left to determine if I push on tonight. I can't imagine what it was like when you had to complete 40 games in the past two iterations. Back in university, I would have had no problem smashing through them, but I've had my first kid this year and it's pretty much impossible to play during the day. 30 is a real struggle over the 3 nights.

Weakest link is by far the striker. I tried IF Arnautovic, Lingard and now Gabriel Jesus, I have not been impressed with any of them. Lingard is the best against the AI but when I play rivals he gets bullied. Says a lot that Kroos with 0.41 gpg is my best scorer.
Finally finished the 20th game at the 4th attempt and it was probably the best game I've ever played on FIFA. Winning 5-0 against someone who'd I'd class as a good player.
Weathered the storm, scored two goals with fake passes, it was awesome.
So that takes me to 11-9 and Silver 1. I should be going to bed, but 3 wins from 10 gets me Gold 3. God dammit.

Thinking about switching to a 4-1-2-1-2 narrow in game or starting with it. It makes Sterling and Felipe Anderson less effective but the rest of the team plays so much better.

I despise this system of matching you up with harder and harder people as you go on, if you're doing well. I needed to go 5-5 from my final 10 games and I've gone 4-6 to finish 22-8 in the end.
1 loss on penalties where I was battering the guy all game. Late in extra time I rolled one across to a waiting Mbappe who did the animation of pulling up to a muscle injury.
Then 3 games running where I took the lead on the first attack. Then they instantly went all out attack. I missed good chances to put in a 2nd and they came storming back and won 3-1. Literally copy and paste 3 times over. Then came another loss in extra time. This time a first time finesse from a 360 spinning Mbappe saw me off at the death.
Needing to win my last game I came up against the toughest opponent and best team I've faced all weekend. He was 5-0 up at half time and I'm sat here gutted. More annoyingly I won my first 2 games on to get to Gold 1. Had I known this was going to happen I'd just have stopped there.
Considering the names coming in TOTW I'm gutted to have missed out. But I repeat, I fucking hate playing on Sundays.

Marcelo is brilliant, put stay back on him and he wont maraud forward when he wants. Seems to always been in the right position defensively too.
Took me a little while to click with Kroos but he's a brilliant attacking minded midfielder. He can go missing at times but his long range shooting and passing are great.
I'm really enjoying him as a box to boxer. Little less energy than the H/H's that I prefer but great output. Ended up with 5 goals and 9 assists from the 15 I played last night.
Think I've made my decision.

Apparently there's a bug with penalties where the other player can see where you're aiming by where your player is looking. I've never noticed it myself though.
Since buying Shearer I've felt obliged to look at a side and then just blast them down the middle.
I always go down the middle in live play, but you can only get away with that for so long in an actual shoot out.
I always leave the arrow down the middle and move it right before the kick is taken.

I've only got the standard Son, but he's a proper beast.
FUTBIN tells me my club value is around 4 million. I cant see how it is possible though. I cant see where all this value comes from.
So this Sterling randomly dropping on a Wednesday leads me to believe FUTMAS and Reus, if not more will be on Friday.
Would I be mad to stock up on Illarramendi? He's 84 rated and very handy to link with, with his position and nationality. He's 4.5k now and was between 7k and 9k last time 84 rateds were in big demand. I'm talking selling off someone like Pogba and spending all of that on picking 100 of him up.

EDIT: My other thought was to buy up 86 Muller in bulk to prepare for FUTMAS and also maybe cover 2POTM Reus.
What I'd say is that at some point the players you mention will increase in price, it's just how long you want to hold them for and whether you'd rather have the coins to use elsewhere.

Weekend League has actually been a real breath of fresh air for me so far for this iteration. Scored one and was a constant nuisance. Absolutely rapid. Gonna start him with a Sniper in the next one.

Got a massive troll pack of my 100ks and got Higuain. It also had TOTW Zapata in there. Other pack had nothing of value. Kept all 82 and up and binned the rest straight off.
Took untradeable rewards from Rivals to get 2 x Rare Gold Pack and 2 x Rare Players Pack. I got an untradeable TOTW Delaney from the former and back-to-back walkouts in the latter. First was Verratti which is a bit meh, but the 2nd was Douglas Costa.

I've actually some decent pack luck tonight, packing the following: Isco, Verratti, Subasic, IF Frantz, Tolisso, Goretzka, Benzema, Malcom, Martial and Mandzukic, along with a ton of untradeable 81/82s across some top leagues, which is always helpful for league and future SBCs. Time to push for the Parolo and get some Rivals wins.

I just loved my vision to see that this could be on and then the perfectly weighted pass from Lingard.
I think the guy was playing on ultra attacking from the start because my defence were all over the place at times and the space I was able to get was obscene. I think I could have hit 10 (as could he probably) if I could finish better.

Torreira done, but disappointingly Pogba only sold for 340. He's crashing down towards 300k now(xbox). However the FUTmas card was only 25k so not a bad cost wise replacement and frees up coins for tonights offering.
A few matches the other night saw that POTM Sterling absolutely rinse my Marcelo over and over again. It has me seriously tempted to do his SBC. But my team is in a bit of a mess trying to fit everyone in.

I've been getting massively into Fifa this year after getting fed up of PES and really enjoying it. I've been following this thread with interest and staggered how some of you have accrued so much but I did leave it until mid November to get the game.
Quick question - do you guys put all your money into one starting 11 then use fitness cards or do you have a fitness team? I guess if regularly doing the BPM then using fitness cards is viable.
If you put some good investment into BPM you can use the individual fitness cards to help move things along.
It depends on your coin balance really. If you've got cheap teams, you might as well have 2. It also keeps the coins coming in and not being wasted on fitness cards. If you have a lot, you're likely to have expensive players. For example I have Neymar. I want to use him every game as I've paid 650k for him. And if you've got the coin for expensive guys, you have them for fitness too.
I'd say another squad for now, but fitness cards when you are happy with your team.

Torreira is a little gem. I have Kante alongside him and he performs just as well.
Rashford's price seems to have settled at 140K. I would have paid that for an ST card but considering the LM / LW / LF options (as highlighted in the image above) it isn't worth it. Shame because his standard card performed very well for me in the early days of the game.
I've done the same as you Yev. Redeemed my Weekend League qualification, but only managed my first game now. And I wish I hadn't have bothered, came up against a finesse shot spammer using a baby Henry, and various POTM cards. Lost 3-2 and each one was a carbon copy, just from varying distances and always a perfectly timed shot. Enraging, and I don't know if I can be fucked to carry on from this point.

You need to play 5 gamed to get ranked. If you dont play those 5 games, you should be able to un-reedem your fut champ qualification. You should also be able to redeem your fut champs at any point during the week. You have to stategicly plan your weekend around fut champs.

I assumed it was the online single match mode, but there are loads of people referring to being in Division 2 and 3 and having to do it against super teams.
I played well into last night whilst in truth mainly watching the NFL, but committed to 15 games just in case it went well. 11-4 after those. Not too shabby but played well further than I should in one sitting.
I've also knocked 2 games off the MLS challenge. The good news is you only have to start 11 MLS players. I subbed Neymar, Mbappe and Griezmann straight on in them.

Currently 4-4 in the Weekend League. But that includes probably my most satisfying comeback ever in a FIFA game.
I was matched against a Bundesliga team, and the opponent was very high-tempo with his passing, but clinical when he created a chance. As a result, I was 3-0 down at the break due to a Timo Werner hat trick. With nothing to lose, I brought on loan Mertens and my new Futmas Wass and shifted to attacking. 3 goals in 5 in-game minutes (Dani Alves screamer, Wass with a rebound and a Mertens volley) came out of nowhere to bring me level, before one of my best passing moves led to Tolisso tapping in for the lead. I sealed the deal with Mertens slotting in a 5th 10 minutes from the end, after some more good build-up play with Wass.
Genuinely buzzed after that win, and a bit more motivated to push to 11 wins tonight.
FUTMas Firmino. I love his NIF so this is a must for me.

@Danny I was tempted by Zakaria as I loved his NIF during early access. As evident in his stats, only his shooting is lacking, but too a truly woeful ‘miss from 5 yds’ Degree.
I’m torn on Firmino. I can do him, very easily, and he could displace Talisca but it’d drop chem on someone else and/or replace Kroos with him at CM whilst retaining full chem.

I had been thinking about going back to an EPL side as I wanted to try out Hazard and De Bruyne. However as a Liverpool fan I'm not sure I can just ignore that Firmino. Looking elsewhere that Sterling SBC is as cheap as it has ever been right now.

Presume you'll move him to CDM in game? He still looks very good for CB but the height and jumping would worry me. Having said that, I've used Azpilicueta and it was never really a major weakness.

Hopped on and won 6 of 7 games to take me to 17-4. I could go for the 6 wins from 9 needed for Elite, but I'm not staying up to miss out on the last game again. Martinez is mad. 99 for Agility and Balance means you can dance around defenders, especially late on and they can only really stop you if the defender gets a proper hand on.

EDIT: Also word of warning, if you see the difference between FUTMAS Firmino and his CL card, I'm not sure the difference is worth the price, add on top of that he's untradeable. Just a heads up.

Seriously, EA are fucking morons for making you do an objective in a competitive mode with squad pre-requisites that if you don't happen to meet put you on the backfoot massively before you've even started. It's only going to get harder as teams get better as well.
I seriously dislike the 'score with X and win in rivals' challenges. The divisions are super competitive enough due to the way they work without you having to gimp your team to get these.
Luckily I give zero shits about Gamerio so I haven't been keeping up with this. I might be able to cobble together enough for Kurzawa, but if not, I'll take Lerma.
I now have regret on not doing Firmino, but I still insist the upgrade was minimal for an extra 120k on his normal card. Hopefully patience is rewarded by there being a striker or at least RW Son today. He'd be a lovely 86 version too. Though knowing EA it will be a LW card and 86 to add to the mountain of EPL LW available along with a minimal upgrade and also cost 300k.

I said it a while ago, we need a casual game mode online. From what ive read, they used to have silver and gold cups with strict restrctions in relation to players. That sounds super fun.
Seasons used to be casual and to an extent to were the daily knockout tournaments. The exception with the latter being when they implemented a reward player or something for winning the tournament.
The problem you have now is there's no mode to test stuff out or have a fun team. I don't do many skills, but I could build a team of 5* skill guys to give it a whirl. Nah m8, have a team full of meta and icons as your opponent and he still only wants to finesse from the edge of the area.
There's also no real way to earn coins between Thursdays. You get your lump sum and them off you go again for a week.
You have online singles match but the connections with the game mode are awful and people just leave the game when they see your team or once they are losing 1-0. All the team and players should be hidden like it is in rivals and fut champs.
Was struggling with my custom tactics as my team were all over the place defensively. Even against the AI on legendary who weren't bugging me at all on previous tactics so I changed again.
An easy 5-0 win and could have been more.
Switching Fabinho from the default cover wing (why is that the default, it's shit?) to cover middle was a huge help. Just didn't allow much room in the middle for long shots and it was actually stopping my full backs from pretending to be centre backs. Hopefully it also transitions across nicely in rivals.

Rigoni - His stats are too bang average in all areas other than pace so it's pointless. 65k as well. Fucking hell.

This is absolutely ridiculous.
Won my first two single matches last night in the hunt for Martinez. Both opponents instantly paused and did all 3 subs, but neither of them brought on world-beaters so I decided to stick with my starting XI and see how I went.
First game, 2-0 up in 20 mins and he rage quit. Second match, a 3-2 win in extra time, with a 117th minute Giovinco free kick sealing it.
Whilst the Futswap objective sounds awful, as it demands it to be done in Rivals, I've certainly changed my tune with regards to the MLS objective. By playing with this squad, I'm using players I would never dream of, and discovering that some of them actually aren't bad at all to use - Andre Horta being a prime example.

Who is the best prem league target man. Ive used Gold Kane and he was OK and now im using IF Lukakku and he plays a lot better but both are not strong enough. Even If i hold L2 and the defender is behind me, they can get the ball via a tackle.
I've decided against Son. 210k for another LW when there are plenty of tradeable options and also Sterling, just seems a bad idea. Had you been able to use FUT Champs reds in these I'd be all in for it, but they're pretty much useless without that. I'd take him as super sub, but I now have Martinez, red 87 Mahrez, Mane and Hazard on my bench which really takes care of the attacking needs. I'll revisit Son if he gets a TOTW or striker item.
Rui Costa looks very interesting, but my want to get Hazard into the team would put pay to him. His price point is still very appealing though and 350k worth of packs back could well earn you a chunk of that back. What it has done is it has sent the price of the useless/unwanted Icons tumbling. You'd be lucky to get any Icon for 750k last week and now they are down around 600k.
It also gives hope of giving these out at a more reasonable price point. Yes you may not have 700k on you to do it in one, but with 30 days to do it, you can slowly tick off the mini SBCs through the month.
Just did Son. Ultimately I couldn't resist. Cost about 210k, of which 160k I already had in the club.

I was not expecting another Icon today. Good to see EA have listened a little. It's almost exactly what I've been looking for too. I've been using Torreira as my other CDM but it just doesn't quite work with him and Kante together. I need someone with a little physical presence in there. Torreira is very good for his price, but lack of height and muscle is his let down.
Rijkaard looks perfect for what I want, but I don't think we'll get him yet. For once I might do a loan card and see how it goes.

Go to the pack you want on that list to see. From a quick scan through you can probably only expect about 50k back at absolute discard value on something like Keanes SBCs. However you'll almost certainly get 83s and 84s and they sell for a fair amount more than discard value especially when in demand as they are now.

Gutting out some of the unneeded stuff from the club. I've got Salah on my bench now and sold off my bench Mane and Mertens. Even with that and with still having UCL Sanches I've got close to 300k on hand and I want to move Griezmann on. I've noticed myself making changes about the 60th minute and it tends to always be him that I bring off. Selling him would take me to 500k.

I don't think I can play on fast build up attack. I'm so susceptible to counters and I get killed with them, back to possession for me I think which helps a lot.
For the love of god, turn fast build up and constant pressure off of all your tactics. Your players will be charging forward too much with both of those. Attacking wise for the former, defensively the latter. For what it's worth I play balanced on both and have no problems scoring in almost any game.
I've been playing about with the squad a bit more, mainly because I wanted Ramos in the team, but also to see if I can get more defensively stable full backs in. I barely use them going forward when both a clearly designed to be getting up there. I tried using only teams that would keep my favourites(Neymar, Mbappe, Hazard and Auba) in the team but the range in nationalities is a little tricky.

Neymar already plays off chemistry for me so it would be the same here. The downside to this one, although I've never used him, is Kondogbia. He looks very OP, but I'm not sure if he actually is.
There is another option on the right in Serie A. That would involve having Chiellini, Cancelo and Matuidi, but I'd then have to lose De Gea. If I wanted to, I could swap Matuidi out for Dybala in the triangle, but that would mean losing Aubameyang.
And speaking of him, his tonne is up. 100 goals and bang on 50 assists too in 94 games. Not too shabby considering they're all Champs/Rivals games.

This is the team ive managed to put togeether so far. De Bruyne is really good. I want to move him to the Fabinho posions and put him on get forward from CDM. It sounds like it could work but I need to add a CAM as a replacment. I want to get a legend but im not sure which one. Nedved looks different but henry and vieira is probably what ill save up for. Is De Gea worth getting over Allison?

I'm a little surprised that Salah doesn't have more goals and assists as he seems to always be around the ball and seems to score more frequently in my mind. Might be due to the handful of disconnects though.
Edit: It also pains me having so little production from my full backs when last year they were lethal for me. Might even bring in more defensive minded guys though to further shore things up at the back.
Think I'm going to sell Shearer. He's very good but for the coins I think I can do better.
Find myself constantly irritated by how sluggish he is on the ball so maybe he just doesn't suit my style of play.
Still an issue linking the players I want to use without an icon though. Hopefully they revamp this system next year, someone suggested SBC/Special players getting a +1 which would be nice.

Decided to try a few players out this weekend to see how they fare and something is really really off with the gameplay tonight. I find myself 4-1, being the first time I've not won my opening 5 on the trot. 2nd game I came up against a monstrosity of a team and the opponent was a good player too. That's always a bad time. I'm actually quite lucky to not be 2-3. Games 4 and 5 both going to extra time and the last one to penalties.

The main ones I wanted to test were the trio on the left there. All of the pros swear to Sandro as the best LB in the game and Chiellini looks his usual self. Dybala seemingly Messi-lite. But as I said something felt off. I'm usually an aggressive tackler and it serves me well, however I've been doing as I normally do and find the ball going through my players a lot, leaving me quite exposed.
If I'm honest I'm not sure I get the hype on Sandro from those 5 games, but it's too early to judge that.

Keane is a loan for now and that in game after him and Pogba flip. I really liked him in the couple of games I tried him for yesterday. I am contemplating replacing Mahrez with Neymar. I could get him on 7 chem and still play that formation with an in game switch.
Also, based on completely nothing I think they will drop Luke Shaw for FUTMAS tomorro. I dont think they will miss a chance to put another United player in and I cant see who else it would be that hasnt already got a special card (I know a few who got cards already had one but they seem to have tried to stay away from that).

90 Van Nistelrooy at under 700k is interesting me.
Primarily his passing, even with an Engine. I normally have Kroos (Eng) or Paulinho (Cat) and Koke off the bench who all 90+ passers with their boosts so I guess that’s the issue. Yeh, I think that's it. I mean for context - Kroos is the lesser of Paulinho in my opinion, and I'm still erring more towards Paulinho than Firminho too when I employ him in midfield. I want the physicality, decent defence, High attacking work rate, decent shooting and decent defending, and they need some kind of pace and elusiveness. Basically, I want it all. I've also really enjoyed Kondogbia and Matuidi at CM this Fifa, and Rabiot as well was pretty great for his stats. It's all making me think I might go for Vieira or Petit as my Arsenal 'hero' rather than (or at least before) going for Henry this year.
As you said though, it's worth doing it (or Rui Costa/Campbell) even if you're not going to use them/don't work with your playstyle because you can then use them for the icons that need icons.
Gameplay has felt like absolute arse today.
Passes rolling a 2mph, passing moves where everyone's off balance and reaching to control the ball, custom tactics seemingly being ignored (my defensive one resulted in about 2 players in my own half from a goal kick a minute ago), it's just all shit.
Somehow I've maintained a positive record though.
I'm hoping to play the full 30 this weekend. Gold 1 the target. I just don't think I'm in the zone to push for Elite, but Gold 1 seems a must. Those 100k packs with that stuff in packs.
We could easily see another Van Dijk TOTW item as well.

Yeah that was a laugh. Ultra-defensive and a super keeper must be a pretty rage inducing combination to play against, which gives me a certain degree of sadistic pleasure.

Has anyone done the Cazorla objective? Any tips? Not started yet, but given we have all week I may as well, as awful as it will no doubt be.
I think I'm calling a halt to Rui Costa with 3 games of his loan to go. He's just cost(a) me a game. I've not been thrilled with him for a little while but soldiered on to see if things improved.
17 games played, 5 goals and 10 assists to his name.
I'm now 17-5 and have stopped after my last loss. It was a mental game in which my opponent had a good team, but had prime Van Basten up top. I was doing okay with closing down and winning tackles but the ball kept popping back to his team over and over. I found myself 5-1 down at half time. I brought on my 3 subs and went constant pressure, all-out attack. By the 70th minute it was 5-5, but my team was fucked at this point. Managed to carve out 2 good chances but both fell to Costa and he missed both and after the 2nd my opponent brought on 85 Lozano, 86 Martinez and POTM Sterling. They combined to tear me apart at the death and I lose 6-5.
3 wins needed from here. It'll be a Christmas fucking miracle if I get 6.
Went for FUTMAS Isco in the end. Already had the 89 in the club ready for my La Liga side that I'm slowly building, so by sticking him in the SBC, the requirements were fairly manageable. Probably cost about 30k for a 91 rated player - decent deal. Now to see how he plays.

These FUTMas cards are so aesthetically pleasing. I don't need Valencia but I am tempted to do him if he comes out at under 100K.
Early solutions show 150k for the other two but 100k for Valencia. Both will come down though.
Oof. Interested in all three of these. Matuidi is a supersub who can fit back into my B team nicely, Alves would again be B Team material but allow me to bring in Kimpembe live, and Valencia is my current B team right back who needs an upgrade.
Valencia is tempting but I think I'm going to skip it and go for RTTF Aurier.
I'm firmly coming to the conclusion that almost all of these Futmas cards only offer any sort of value if you have a decent number of untradeables to do them with.
EDIT: And on that note I have Valencia's 84 untradeable IF, so I'll be chucking him in to get the RB version.

La Croqueta is a ball roll whilst holding LB. I can never seem to hit it when I want to though.
The drag back involves holding RB whilst pulling the left stick directly backwards from the direction you are facing. Once the ball is moving, move the left stick to where you want the exit of the drag back to go.
You can't use it whilst sprinting and the more nimble players will pull it off way more gracefully than say Aubameyang.

Use the radar at the bottom. Usually a Y pass. I also have them set to stay forward so I know they'll be there abouts.

Needed three from three for gold 1. Scrapped two wins undeserved. Final guy I played had an 84 rated team with 88 chemistry. He played constant press from minute one. I then played the long ball up to lukaku and he won every header down to KDB to start the attack. Won 7-1 to secure gold 1.

Still, goal secured rather comfortably. 20-8 isn't too bad, some games I definitely threw away. Oh and after Rui Costa played 19 games at CAM and got 6 goals, Hazard scored 5 in one game from the same position. Makes all the difference.
I did Valencia for the purchase of two IF's. Not too bad to be honest. Last year I looked to mess with a United 'Specials' side towards the end so figure getting this one now will be good for when that happens.

Kondogbia down to 470k. I’m sitting on a million, but I’m still reticent to pay more than 400k for him. The difficulty is knowing what impact tomorrow’s packs will have. Either he’ll inflate due to instant demand (can’t see that as who the hell will be a newb and able to afford him?) or he’ll deflate purely on the pack sales.

If it helps, I came up against a midfield of middle Seedorf and the UEL Kondogbia in my final game and it was a nightmare.
I'm really not convinced by Kondogbia. Going by his base card he looks like a bit of a lummox and 2 star week foot isn't going to be much use the other side of Team of the Year.
I've realised that my kryptonite this year is high pressure sides that use attacking full backs.
I'm largely set up for the finesse wankers so when I come across these lot I melt.
I'm actually not too bad at making half chances against these sides but then I always snatch at the chances I create.

It'll be fine as a CM, where being central normally means being able to stick to the strong foot. His NIF was insane early doors, right up to October for me. WF is a big deal for me, hence 4-5* for most of my attacking talents (Hulk stands out as an exception but he's weirdly decent with his 3*) as they need to use the weak foot in tight spaces, but for my more defense CM it's never been a massive issue for me as they're rarely penned in.Quote:

Key difference between our game from today and the other day is Hazard at CAM. He's so bloody good there. I did move my keeper in the last game we had. I seem to remember Alisson getting a hand to one he really should have saved.
I don't know if you noticed me slow down once through one on one, seeming to delay the shot? That's a result of others moving their keeper. You'll be surprised how many times people will move before I shoot and I just pop it in the other side.

7.9 match rating is his worst performance thus far for me. He's even been MOTM in some losses.

Someone has done the De Bruyne challenge for 480K on FUTBin. If it ends up settling at that price I think I would do it, that is a card you could use until the end of the game.
Early estimates on Futbin have De Bruyne at 500k ish.

Also done De Bruyne. Got in quick with the cards needed on that 480k solution. Was too slow on Modric before he doubled in value, but had an untradeable UCL Rakitic who will do just the job with a couple of tweaks elsewhere.

If you switch formations, I would highly recommend RTTF Sanchez (might even be useful on reduced chem). He's genuinely brilliant and is constantly out-performing Aguero for me.
Ive tried him. I didnt like him. Whoever i put as a ST, they just dont deliver. My play style does not suit this game at all. I want to play slow football to a target man but that tactic is defeated as everyone i play, the opponeents players always seems closer to all my players than mine are to theirs.
Its like game forces you to play quick one-two touches passes. I may have to out the game down, its just not fun for me and every game is work.

Surprised at just how many untradeables I have.
I try not to get suckered into too many untradeables because you almost get forced into playing them.
Bought the standard KDB to try out before a potential purchase of his FUTMAS card. 10 games, 11 goals, 8 assists. Kicking the ball he is sublime, whether it be passing or shooting. However I noted 2 things when using him. 1 he is a little bit slow and sluggish which really hurt in situations where I need to be nimble, but 2, Hazard who was playing LAM only scored 2 goals in the 10 games KDB played. He's a goal a game himself when he plays CAM.
I just don't know if to do him or not. Keep flittering between deciding yes or no.
I have about 650k to hand with 100k or so hitting the club on Thursday. I'm willing to sell Neymar and Mbappe who are 900k or so about now, as I have Mahrez I'd happily use and can bring Aubameyang back into the team.

Im now using gold aguero as my lone ST on a false 9 with a catylyst and within just a few games, He seems so effective. Those small, agile players eho are good on the ball just feel so much better. I still want to play a target man but you man are right, agility and balance is critical to it.
