Mick Foley the Raw GM. Not sure what sense that makes in terms of kayfabe, but at least it's not Triple H.
Calling it now, Bryan will be dog shit as GM. His promos are crap and just smiles all the way through.
Yeah he's dull as fuck.
Stop attacking him from your reservoir of insults you meanies.
Foley makes a lot more sense than anyone else bar HHH as he's a man who has held positions of power many times abs done well with it. Good choice. Regal should have been the other.
Regal is far better suited to doing what he's already doing.
Get Guerrero in.
It should have been Triple Haitch. Mick Foley will be rubbish. He gets by on people our age popping for him, but if he's out every week looking like shit and gurning/rambling his way through fifteen minute segments then it won't work.
The Cerebral Assassin is little better, at least Foley gets over four words a minute.
Foley.....That'll put bums on seats.....
Anyone watching? Not going as I'd have thought so far.
Balor
Cena
Lol at Cena not being in the top 5.
Holy shit a four man booth :serious:
Get Bullet Club on RAW and have Balor take over as leader.
So they end Raw last night with Rollins as champion and then Stephanie opens Smackdown saying Seth will leave tonight as champion.
Makes sense.
So Bork is a full time guy now?
This is a Nakamura away from me still not watching Smackdown.
I love that Darren Young is using the chicken wing.
Pretty much confirmed they're not doing anything 'Bullet Club' related with Balor and AJ. Bit of a shame.
Sasha is fucking awful on the mic. She speaks before she knows what she's going to say.
I know this has all been set up weeks in advance, but in what world does Jericho get picked before Owens?
Just get KO and Nakamura on RAW and I'll carry on only watching that like nothing ever happened.
Jericho is a 6 time champion, of course he gets picked first.
The order has been ridiculous though. Balor and Charlotte before Cena?
This is so boring it's unbelievable.
And now Baron Corbin before Cesaro. Jesus.
As a supposed draft, this has been fucking awful.
Balor Club incoming.
Mentions woman from NxT, crowd gets excited. Announce Nia Jax, crowd go 'for fucks sake.'
Balor club is great, but Big Show actually drafted? Piss off.
Amazing how quickly Cesaro's push after returning has been abandoned.
Only 5 picks left tonight. If one of them is Kane...
The final pick has to be Nakamura or Bayley, surely
Sheamus. Wow.
I... Sheamus. The final televised pick was Sheamus.
What a shambles.
I'm actually annoyed to have stayed up for that now. Hopefully this title match makes up for it in some way...
Was that a 'we want Bayley' chant that got muted then?
Is there a mandate in the NEW ERA for everyone to quietly talk over and heckle each other? Stephanie McMahon can't shut the fuck up.
I was going to stay up for that but thanks to people at work all being sick/on holiday my day off today was cancelled so I couldn't. Looks like I dodged a bullet.
Other than Rusev getting a push as the only title-holder on Raw, the draft results make it look like both shows are going to be a lot worse due to the basic fact that you've now got half as many decent people to play with, which means you either have top geezer rasslin' plebs (and how do you book John Cena vs Erick Rowan without making one of them look shit?) or you have the same matches every week.
Raw also have Charlotte and The New Day
May as well admit defeat and sign Nash, Razor Ramon, Scott Steiner, Goldberg, crippled Sting, Hogan and put Bischoff in as 'GM'.
Beats watching Zayn vs Cesaro for the 4000th time.
I obviously(!) meant singles titles (nobody cares about the birds' wrestling mate come on), so I hope he makes a big deal out of it with his lisp.
Last night was boring as fuck.
Come next Monday, Seth and Ambrose will both have their own titles after both pinning Roman at the same time.
Will they have to ban Lesnar considering the substance him (and Jones) popped for is apparently on the wellness policy list?
Hopefully we get a 'STEROIDS' chant at summerslam all through his match.
Lesnar and Orton on different shows is a great start to them keeping the rosters completely separate, while they hype Owens and Zayn as being possibly the final time they'll blah blah and they both get drafted to Raw anyway.
WWE has announced that the new RAW announce team will feature Corey Graves, Michael Cole and Byron Saxton.
The SmackDown announce team will now include Mauro Ranallo, JBL and David Otunga.
No word yet on where Jerry Lawler will end up but Superstars will be called by Graves and Tom Phillips while Main Event will be called by Otunga and Phillips.
- - - -- - -
Otunga is still a thing?
He's actually quite good at all the wrestling stuff he does that isn't wrestling.
What has he been doing lately? To be fair I barely know who the lead Smackdown guy is, but the few times I've heard him, I've hated him.
Otunga disappeared for ages but then came back and did those Network pre-shows. No idea if he's officially retired or just doesn't need to bother.
I'd been wishing I could stay up and watch last night but as it turned out they didn't make it even vaguely interesting.
The seethe when Reigns wins Sunday and then goes heel.
"I'm not a good guy, I'm not a bad guy... I'm THE bad guy!"
<Razor's music hits>
They need to get Rollins face and Reigns heel pronto. Unless they're actually positioning Reigns as their only top-level babyface on Raw. Which they probably are.
Bayley finally called up.
People were so happy to see Mojo Rawley.
They were already talking about it being a "one off" during the Pay Per View.... so I doubt it.
Yeah it looks like she'll be in NXT for a while longer, presumably to finish off her feud with Asuka. Won't be long before she's full time, though.
Summerslam's got to be Charlotte vs Sasha so they're better off having her move over properly after then.
Sasha wins the title, Charlotte and Dana chimp out and beat the crap out of her, Bayley with the save.
The best part of Battleground was the Highlight Reel.
Jericho was hilarious and Orton actually looked like he cared.
Agreed, other than Zayn/Owens, which was superb as expected. Highlight Reel a close 2nd though. Orton even got a laugh out of me with his Fandango comment, which must be a first.
OSW's latest is out. They've turned to Patreon for funding which, I guess is cool as they'd get nowt otherwise. Arn Anderson and Flair wrestling was an actual treat.
I enjoyed that quite a lot. Feels like the best PPV in a while. Yeah, wouldn't be hard, whatever, I genuinely liked it. I watched the womens tag match having seen Bayley vs. Asuka from the NXT Dallas show last night and not being bored to tears by it. Wyatts and New Day was sort of coasting but once Woods and Bray were first in the right the pace and "story" of it were bang on. Rusev and Ryder was fine for what it was. Zayn and Owens was bangin', genuinely had a moment of fearing for Zayn when he fucked up that springboard thing (was he actually hurt or did he improvise on the arm like a boss?) and then lol'd when he almost botched a foot on the rope as well. Skipped the second womens match, Miz vs. Young I don't understand why it couldn't have had an actual finish. Were the commentators tallking about a fine for Miz? Get lost.
The second six man tag was good too once it got going. The crowd are fucking shit hot for Enzo and Cass too and once it's decided to let the New Day lose the belts (do they have the record yet? If not I assume you let them set a decent record then have them lose) it really has to be Enzo and Cass. Though of course Cena got the decisive moment.
And then the main event felt too short given how long this has been built up but I liked it. As soon as Ambrose was bundled out of the ring and Reigns kicked out of the Pedigree the general gist of the finish was plainly obvious but I really thought they'd have one of the Raw pair win so Ambrose was a nice surprise.
Genuinely thought it was a good show.
With only one match to go on NXT Dallas I'm watching the main event. I bloody love Tonga Jeff. Get him on the main roster so I can watch him win 48 consecutive matches again Dolph Ziggler already.
My main gripe would be every match (bar the 6 man tags, which I didn't care for in the slightest) was pretty much spoiled by the draft. Rusev and Miz both had to retain as if one lost the other had to and Miz-Rusev to Ryder-Young was too big a downgrade. Becky Vs Nattie had to be Nattie as they are on the same show so the feud is continuing and Zayn was obviously going to go over KO to end the feud (that's not to do with the draft but still). Main Event I guess was up in the air but I always thought Ambrose would retain so they could bring out a new belt at the start of the night tonight. Still it was a decent enough show, but yea, I think the draft should have come after it.
Rusev and Miz were going to retain because there was no real reason for them to lose. That wasn't really the fault of the draft, just poor booking of challenger-of-the-month acts in Ryder and Young. Though I hope Young gets some more shots somewhere because for all that I skipped all bar the first of the vignettes with Backlund there may actually be something there. If only in an enterianing-mid-card sort of way.
The 6-mans there's not really much to argue, I suppose. It's hard to objectively rate such a match. I personally thought they really worked.
As for the main event, the reason I had an inkling that Ambrose would drop the title is I thought they'd want to keep the one with some history on Raw. Maybe even have Rollins pin Reigns so Smackdown could say Ambrose never lost as an excuse to as good as put a new belt on him.
I should clarify I didn't even watch the 6 man matches, because I didn't care about them. So they could have been great, but yea, it takes something special to keep me interested in those matches.
I find them hit or miss. What I liked about these two is that they actually gave most of the people in the match their moment to do something. The biggest exceptions probably being Doc Gallows and Braun Strowman in their matches. But if you're generally not a fan of six man tags there's probably nothing there that's going to win you oer, and as much as I've quite liked the New Day/Wyatts fued part of me thinks they ought to have had a tag titles match on the last pre-split show. You can still do the Woods/Bray stuff, just have Kingston removed from the match somehow (eaten by Strowman.)
Surprised that Sasha won the title last night. I thought they'd save that for Summerslam.
What a shit name for a title.
Also loving that they're still trying to book Reigns on the face side of things. They're never, ever going to give up are they? Not sure what I think about Balor immediately becoming number one contender but should make for a good match and I guess if he's been drafted as their third pick or whatever it was you just sort of go with them instantly shoving him into the main event.
Is it just me that finds the coup de grace really underwhelming?
I find Finn Balor underwhelming.
I skipped through it in about 15 minutes but raw seemed p good.
You would imagine a Baron Cordin v Ambrose title match might be on the cards for SummerSlam.
Having seen FOUR Finn Balor matches (two of them on Raw) I think I'm well-placed to say that WWE are getting a bit over-excited about him.
He'll majestic them more money than Reigns and that's all that matters. PRINCE <3
The people he will make money from already give WWE most of their income (having sworn never to do so again after the last pay per view didn't go their way).
It doesn't matter anyway, Bayley is already the new cash cow.
That's the 'fat' angle sorted, then.
It's a new era Maggle!
This reminds me of Madison Square Garden in 1928 when a young Fabulous Mula fought The Great Depression to retain her Women's title.
I like Finn Balor as a wrestler, but when he talks it's surprising how someone who looks so fit struggles for breath between every single word.
As a non-NXT watcher, Raw was my first real exposure to Balor. I thought he was pretty good, really enjoyed the match with Reigns and think he came across well.
Reigns being pinned clean twice in 2 nights is something I never thought I'd see a month ago.
I flicked through Raw last night and I like the presentation - Michael Cole's role is quite decent, in that he's actually saying a few intelligent things here and there and pretty much letting Byron Saxton (needs work) and Corey Graves (pretty good) call the match.
I've read the Smackdown results and I see that the broadcast team there is David Otunga, Mauro Ranello and JBL, which seems a strange combo on the face of it.
I'm thinking Lesnar vs Orton is going to be Summerslam's main event, at least on paper.
Jerry Lawler was playing the heel again on Smackdown recently so I'd rather they'd fuck JBL off instead. Ballgame!
They better not. We need John o'clock.
JBL is fucking abysmal. He really ruined the commentary last night.
I thought Smackdown was a bit meh. Nowhere near the level of Raw.
Smackdown was indeed a bit meh but then when you saw the whole roster at the ring in the opening of the show you see that the cupboard is slightly bare, even for a two hour show. Well, I say two hours, I'm not sure how long it actually is once you count ads such as the one that arrived about 30 seconds into the main event and then another which delayed getting back to their main event to talk about Brock sodding Lesnar appearing on Raw next week.
And Dolph Ziggler was the last person I expected to win that. I thought Cena or AJ winning and then the other being included for a triple threat at Summerslam was more likely but fancied Wyatt for the win (rookie error) and even thought one of the other pair might be given the nod, much as I would have thought that would have been a mistake. Hopefully they turn Ziggler given his "character" is a dead-end waste of time at the moment.
And on that subject, Orton simply isn't funny enough for what they're trying to get him to do at the moment.
I'd mark out if Zigglypuff won the title, but he won't. Still nice to see him get a chance.
Eva Marie's entrance was amazing though, that's the only part I watched.
Mauro Ronaldo sounds like Scott Hudson.
I really don't like Ziggler. People moan about the indie guys, but he's the archetypal flippy shit with no psychology guy.
I tend to find myself watching Ziggler matches thinking I should be enjoying them more than I do.
Ziggler is about the only one today with any ring psychology whatsoever. :D
He just needs to sort out his character. In the ring he's near perfection.
I think his selling is the best in the business. Sometimes he crosses the line and it looks a bit cartoonish, I'll give you that, but it's not all that often, most of the time he's spot on. Even when he does that, it's nothing that the likes of The Rock didn't do (watch him sell any Stunner). It's nice to see someone actually selling in this day and age.
Is he still selling a leg injury to put twats over?
WCPW have signed Kurt Angle for a show in October. Fucking hell.
Jesus. He's no Martin Kirby but Sandow, Rhodes, and now Angle is pretty impressive.
They're in a pokey warehouse in Newcastle right now, but I'd be very interested to see the crowd they could pull in a bigger venue. They can clearly pull in the talent already.
I do agree but there must be a huge difference in getting one off appearances and actually signing people to a roster or does that only really happen in the bigger promotions? Still, having started (apart from a massive ready made platform) with nothing a few weeks ago they appear to be doing alright, I'm enjoying it at least.
I suspect it might be the bigger promotions that can commit to that. There's a shit one in Middlesbrough that manages to grab TNA talent for the odd night.
God the talent in the battle royal on SD :face: even worse the women's division - the reaction when Carmella came out, even the Shining Stars had a better reaction.
There shouldn't be a draft for the women, they should bring in a women's tag-title and have it competed on SD only and the women's title on RAW only.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9maqablMjQ
Fucking hell.
He's going to eat his feet? :D
Just watching Raw and my they really are hammering Roman. Heels and faces teaming up against him, naughty boy.
Yep. When he said "I'm going to...." or whatever it was, I don't think I'd have guessed the next 3 words with 1000 guesses. :D
What is this opening to Raw :D
I hate the new theme tune by the way...
Any ICW fans in Scotland, I'm hosting the stand up shows of Billy Kirkwood and The Wee Man tomorrow. Would love to meet up with TTHers for a pint.
http://imgur.com/a/2iQOy
Watching some Raws from 2000 seeing as they've just added them to the Network. I don't understand why HHH books Blackman against Angle and Stephanie is SEETHING. Is this part of/building up to the "love triangle" thing they did?
And British Bulldog has just interfered for Angle to win. I love dropping back to old episodes of Raw/Smackdown.
Shelton to WWE is off because he's injured.
Ryback has been released
Dana White to sign him up for a match against Punk.
WCPW to announce him within the week.
Imagine the Greggs he'll put away.
Kevin Owens on commentary was heel Lawler levels of good.
Ambrose took a while to warm up on Stone Cold Podcast. Pretty sure he's full of shit as well, or is at least extremely cagey as to what he will and won't talk about and covers for it rather than just refusing to answer.
I did like that he said what a load of shit his 'Mania match against Lesnar was though and stopped only just short of calling Baroque a cunt.
Fucking hell. WCPW got Jim fucking Ross. It's going to be so good.
Meanwhile, Billy Corgan is now President of TNA. First order of business was to sign Sandow.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ntH56wRLlY
I love those bitter TNA welcome promos. That one with the actual Triple Haitch impression was the best.
Onto the '09 Rumble on the Network and I appear to be watching a decent Jack Swagger match, which I didn't know was a thing.
I've been watching old wrasslin' videos this morning and eventually ended up on the clip of Bob Holly beating the shit out that twat on a Tough Enough. Holly comes across as a proper psycho and it's hilarious.
Cracking on through 2009. Has anybody else ever had the same finisher, like Christian did, but have it go through three names? Unprettier was a much better name than the Killswitch or Impaler as well.
I know the WWE's feud-booking strategy these days is mostly "book these two guys to wrestle each other eight times a week until everybody wishes they were dead" but to have what felt like a 20-odd minute match between Reigns and Rusev a week before Summerslam is an odd choice. Though if they're having Rusev go over (which I assume they are given Reigns won here and assuming they'll have him back in the main event soon enough) then I suppose this throws Reigns a bone and lets him beat somebody before he takes another defeat on Sunday.
'Finn Balor? Pfft. He's... Mate, he's just a knobhead from the in... SHITTING HELL HE'S PAINTED HIS FACE WE'RE FUCKED LADS!'
Also, I reckon Randy Orton will beat Baroque Les-nar with that wanker kick he used to do.
I didn't watch Raw this week but saw the segment between Brock and Heath Slater. Got to say I thought it was brilliant. I find Slater really entertaining on the mic and Brock dropping swear words and a massive BEATDOWN made it a really good couple of minutes of tv.
I think they'll have him win as well. I think I want him to but I don't know that I actually care, or at least I don't care enough about this shit face character and Viperville nonsense. I think I just want Lesnar to be an unstoppable monster. So I suppose if Orton is going to STEAL a win I hope he fucks off.
And yeah, I'm actually quite enjoying the Slater stuff too. A pity it's going to end in him being given a contract and then only seen again to be squashed.
Proper lol'd at that. Reminds me of a post you made on the old board about Triple H shitting his pants because a fat bloke took off a collared shirt to reveal a white one.
I liked his little mythology promo as well, asking Seth Rollin[g]s whether he knows about some Irish giant and Celtic Boys Club. Probably not, mate; but he beat Sting.
Was it a coffin he was sitting on as well? Whole thing's a bit silly.
I'm hoping that the DEMON KING having got the upperhand with his brutal overhead kicks on Rollins a couple of times now means that Rollins is going to do him on Sunday.
Rollins has to win on Sunday. It's way too soon for Balor.
Also, fuck Orton. He's been boring for a decade. Hope Brock destroys him.
I've noticed they have added more old RAWs on the network.
When are they going to add 2008-2011 for fuck sake?
Heath Slater has been the best thing about the last few weeks. I hope it ends with him winning a contract against a somewhat legitimate competitor and he gets a run at the US title or something.
If that's true, this really is the low point of the industry.
If any of you haven't seen it, I highly recommend the Stone Cold podcast with Dean Ambrose.
One of the very best bits of car crash TV I've had the pleasure of watching. Some of the death stares that Austin was giving him while Ambrose basically shrugged his shoulders at everything was priceless. I wouldn't have been surprised to see Austin Lou Thesz press him through the table and beat the shit out of him.
If you feel like switching off half way through, don't. The last 5 minutes are brilliant.
I'm quite annoyed they brought the 'DEMON KING' out on Monday - it's supposed to be a thing that takes him to 'another level', but instead it's become simply a costume for him to prance about it.
If you're going to do that, sit on it for much longer. I mean, he's just come up from NXT. You hold that shit back til the smarks from NXT burst when he finally does switch. It's the kind of thing you do to retire The Undertaker.
Del Rio just got suspended for violating the wellness policy :harold:
Paige suspended as well.
Bit of a shame Gallagher lost in the CWC, I'd love WWE to sign him for the Cruiserweight division. His match was really good though, as was the Kendrick/Nese main event.
I wasn't massively into this during the first round but it's warming up nicely. Not sure how much of that is just that as we go along and the crowds are seeing the guys after the first time they're warming up to it too.
Her most elaborate match evasion tactic so far.
I do wonder what the hell is going on, though. Paige must've had one hell of a birthday party.
I did wonder if that was just a match evasion tactic...
"Eva Maria can not compete tonight because she's smacked off her tits."
I was starting to like Eva Marie, or at least the fact they capitalised on how everyone hates that she has a job there.
I could see Paige quitting with Del Rio before coming back later, like a female Jerry Lawler.
Driving up to New York in the morning for NXT Brooklyn. Then straight back on the sunday in time for Summerslam. Fair play to WWE on this one, the card looks pretty good so stupidly I'm expecting a decent show.
The Dudley Boyz vs Neville and Sami Zayn, as well as Breezeango/The Ascension/The Vaudevillans vs The Usos/The Hype Bros/American Alpha have been added to the Summerlam Preshow.
Have a good time, Thomas.
Draft Zayn and Owens. Utterly waste them in one of the big PPVs of the year. Good work all round.
EDIT: Another year 2000 RAW on the go. Shane McMahon is talking about how he admires everything about Chris Benoit....
Also have the Network dubbed over American Badass by Kid Rock with his You're Gonna Pay music? I was sure I was losing the plot but they've definitely cut out his American Badass music. For expletives and such, I suppose.
That makes more sense.
Foley was such good fun as commissioner. It was almost like he was going out there to enjoy himself or something.
Brooklyn is the biggest shithole I've ever seen but I got here. Renee and the pre show are directly behind me. If only I had a TTH sign.
:D
How's the event going at the moment 7om?
Actually really good.
Got a horrible feeling Joe busted his jaw right at the end. After the bell a load of referees and medics ran down to the ring sharpish.
Don't know how I just walked through Brooklyn at 11pm at night and didn't get killed. It's a genuine ghetto.
If he lost (which he has), I was expecting him to show up tonight as a way of keeping the belt off Papa Shango for a few more months. So that's out.
The only good thing about Brother Nero is his entrance music. You ruined it, Jeff.
Super excited for tonight. I hope it's not shit. I watched last year's in a wrestling bar in New York and it was amazing. I've even got the wife staying up late to watch it with me.
It's like looking in the mirror three years ago with SvN's posts.
I was considering staying up late given my holiday starts tomorrow but then it occurred to me that'd mean staying up 'til five. Fuck that. What time does the pre-show start?
11-11:30.
12am special start apparently.
Maybe a useless double post but rumors are flying that Bill Goldberg has signed for the E and may make an appearance tonight :serious:
I saw Goldberg had been saying something about Lesnar in a press-conference which would be a waste of time if something wasn't up.
They say that about every third PPV at the moment. If he's there he'll probably just promote the video game and fuck off. But I doubt he's there.
Edit- And there it is....
As previously reported, Bill Goldberg is in New York City promoting WWE 2K17. Goldberg noted that he won't be wrestling anytime soon, as he underwent double knee surgery six weeks ago.
Well that's a relief.
Man, not the knees. That's where all his talent is.
What an absolute abomination of a PPV, and that's all I've got to say about that.
I liked Jon Stewart escaping the ring before remembering he had to get back into the ring to set up the Big E run-in. Is he really small or is Stephanie a giant?
Yeah that was pretty shit. AJ v Cena was incredible. The Universal belt looks horrible.
I'm glad Miz won, they seem to have thrown Crews in there and crossed their fingers something would happen. He's like a scale model of Bobby Lashley.
Nikki Bella though.
Looks like her shorts shrank in the wash.
Yeah that was pretty pants. Cena/Styles was good and plenty of the other matches were okay but bugger all else actually stood out. Not sure what the purpose of the US title stuff is supposed to be and I don't think much of putting that awful belt on Balor right off the bat though I suppose it at least shows the WWE aren't quite so obsessed with pretending all non-WWE wrestling is second-rate. Either that or they just love a flavour of the month. Still not getting the Balor/love.
It effectively serves to put NXT on the same level as the main roster if somebody can come straight from there and challenge for titles (whichever title). In which case, what is the point of NXT?
Yep that was shit all the way through really. To the point where I actually wanted Goldberg to spear the shit out of Brock, despite knowing it wouldn't happen.
When there was 35 minutes to go for 2 matches I knew some absolute shite was going to go down. When Rusev/Reigns didn't happen I was hopeful that Lesnar/Orton might be alright after all. It wasn't.
Once again KO was the highlight for me, but given it feels like that tag match was about 6 weeks ago I've pretty much forgotten that among all the shit.
AJ/Cena was alright but nothing special. I didn't care for either World Title match, though the "tuning up the band" spot with Ambrose was great. The women's title match was fucking shit. Get Bayley in to carry them already.
Not sure what your issue with the women's title match was. I thought it was pretty good.
I was pretty bored for both title matches, but I was fucking knackered by then.
I just had no reason to care for it. Sasha and Charlotte have no characters really other than "I'm a boss" and "I'm Flair's daughter", we've seen the match many times before, there was nothing new there, and hot shotting the title back to Charlotte makes no sense really. It wasn't the worst match ever, but there was no reason to be invested in it. The "Divas (I mean Women) Revolution" is so stale by now. Putting it so early in the night was a laugh too. Should have swapped it with Nikki's match.
The main problem with the Women's title match was that it was littered with mistakes and botches. Sasha in particular is probably going to cripple herself one day with some of the risks she takes.
The biggest head-scratcher for me is why Brock - Orton went on last. I initially assumed it was because something was going to go down big time but a TKO ending? Fuck off with that absolute shite. I like Brock a lot, but this Suplex City gimmick is reducing his matches down to about three moves and loads of standing around sweating. It's crap and boring.
I also didn't get why they allowed Orton to bleed so much just for that shit ending.
I assumed it was a botch/improvised ending, seeing as he can't have meant to bust his head open and knock him silly with elbows.
Meltzer reckons the ending went as planned, Brock just overdid it a bit which led to more blood than expected.
Baroque is basically a match gimmick in his own right now and it's boring.
I hope they're not leading to Shane challenging him, although he did batter Orton that time without touching him so maybe he's the man.
You'd think if that is a thing that this time it will actually be to bring somebody in/back to face him.
The dream is either Kur Tangle or that being how Slater gets his contract.
The moment Angle's music hits will probably be the most mental I'll ever go watching wrestling. I hope it's not spoiled in advance.
Of course it will be spoiled, if not revealed ahead of time to sell tickets then the twats in the crowd chanting his name will do it.
When was the last time we had a genuinely surprising return from someone not already employed by WWE?
Shane's return was a bit of a shocker.
WWE have announced that Finn Balor has injured his shoulder and Samoa Joe got injured against Nakamura as well. No mention on if they'll miss any ring time.
Lesnar's beatdown of Orton was brutal - have a look on Bubba Ray's Twitter to see the gash on Orton's head.
The Dudleyz retiring apparently.
My bet is Devon is retiring and Bubba will have a singles heel run.
.....
Yet more evidence that they have no clue what they're doing with Reigns.
Yeah, have him kick out of Jericho's finisher, superman punch Owens and end it with one spear. Yeah, that'll get him cheered.
Looks great for the US title that Reigns fucked up his shot at it and immediately lost interest.
I'm back in on the Brother Nero shit. I love the idea it's an elaborate ruse from Matt to stop his brother killing himself off ladders. And Jeff now uses the hashtag #ObsoleteMule.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzdKcLupjmU
Shoulder pops out, shoulder pops in
Why is Big Cass in the Fatal 4 Way? Fucking hell. I really don't get the hype for him and Enzo. They were great for a while but I'm already bored of their act.
.....
Land of the giants and all that.
.....
Zom must be the most masochistic poster in this thread. 99% of his posts are complaining that the company has no idea what they're doing, yet he's probably spent more on tickets than the rest of us combined.
Other than having a pram face and a shit gimmick, why does Bayley 'deserve' a title shot ahead of everybody else?
Because she's a female version of John Cenahhh...
They really had him lift Jericho up and handstand walk to the ropes during the fucking Walls. Unbelievable.
They're really going to let Reigns win the fucking title. The ultimate fucking fuck you to the fans. Hey your hero Finn Balor got the belt for 24 hours, now we're going to let Roman hold it until Wrestlemania.
They'll end up booking Cass strong as fuck in the 4-way only to get accidentally knocked out by Rusev (who'll be trying to fuck with Roman) setting up a Big Cass vs. Rusev US Title program for the next month or two.
Rusev will be all preoccupied because omg i didn't mean to hit Cass oh shit and Enzo will probably be coming at him and then Reigns will spear him on the outside or some shit or do a splash onto both of them arguing because the kids are gonna love that and somehow this'll bring great shame to Lana.
Reigns being occupied will let Jericho smash him or some shit to help KO.
Then KO will yell at Jericho that oh I don't need your help blah blah blah and Seth will roll his ass up for the cheap win.
Maybe.
Cass'll be all YOU COST ME MY TITLE
and Rusev'll be all YOU COST ME MY WOMAN
easy fucking program tbh
Also, what were they on about her being the 'hottest free agent'? Firstly, she already works for you; secondly, and more to the point, nobody has drafted Nikki Bella.
Nikki is officially on Smackdown, so they have.
Oh. Well. Speaking of which, is Shane McMahon dressing like Eric Bischoff deliberately?
Balor popping his shoulder back in
More new belts

They should scrap that new Universal one and have both big titles be black with the red/blue background like the women do.
https://youtu.be/8d4SLA4HYp0
Not sure how to embed on my phone, but that has to be one of the best WWE promos in years. Hopefully Smackdown starts to let people go off script like that a little more and Raw can keep Reigns and his suffering succotash.
I watched a little bit of Raw last night, and Titus O'Neil's promo was flubbed about five times. Kalisto's after he was drafted is the worst of the year so far, didn't have a clue what he was on about.
The Miz is pretty great at what he does, slagging off the still massively popular GM/Commissioner (particularly on the topic of his injuries) like that is perfect weasley-heel heat.
Belts are not bad. Considering how shit the The Penny belts are on Raw, it looks decent. Not strong enough tag-team division though on SD.
Aye, when they turned to the tag teams and I only saw three of them because Fandabbybreezy or whoever where being carefully hidden behind everything. A tournament of two rounds, man. King of the fucking Ring.
You rarely have more than four people in contention for any of the titles so I don't think it'll matter that much.
I must've watched that promo 3 or 4 times today. Absolutely incredible. It's a shame that a lot of people won't see it. I hope it gets shown on Smackdown next week.
Smackdown should have had a Ladies Championship, with a tiara and a sash, and built a story around Shane McBischoff hating women.
He'll get Becky Lynch to 'Berk like a dag' on TV which puts him in Vince's good books and then we can have a Shane vs. Haitch son-off at the Royal Rumble.
Now we're talking.
That Miz video is ace. He's donned Bryan there.
Nearly all the promos people online rave about tend to be on the backstage fallout app stuff rather than the broadcast show, even the Usos apparently come across well on that Smackdown one. I bet Titus O'Neil's a real raconteur on the Raw pre-show.
Just put Raw on. When did Sami Zayn last have a match he didn't get some sort of 'injury' in?
And what a run it's been to date.
Still not won a match via a pin!
The GM-Yes Man apparently cleared to wrestle but not from WWE :D
That's been the case for fucking ages.
I said to my rasslin' nerd friend that there has never been a well-worked ladies match involving more than three of them, and he said to watch Survivor Series 1987. Can anybody think of a more recent one?
To be honest, my lasting image of him wrestling is the headbutt ladder spot that did him in. Such a dumb thing to do and you can't really gimp that.
Had already forgotten that Big Cass was in the fatal fourway for the Universal title tonight.
Do we assume that Rollins gets the nod? No idea who he feuds if he does. Probably Reigns.
Cass will win it because Vince.
If it's up to Vince then the Great Khali will return as a surprise and it gets made into a 6-pack challenge (Khali counts as two because he's so great.)
I'm guessing Owens goes over tonight and eventually feuds with Jericho.
You'd think they'll milk the Enzo & Cass tag gimmick to death (hi there New Day) before giving Cass a push.
But the little fella has all the catchphrases, ergo he'll work with anyone.
But Cass is 7ft tall. That's enough.
To be fair you can't teach that.
How you doing?
I'll be shocked if it's not Rollins.
2hr 55 mins of shit but I popped for Haitch's appearance. Quality ending, that.
i liked Cass' appearance
ending was actually really good
intriguing show for once
Called it.
Owens was the only choice that made sense. Cass is too new and Rollins/Reigns would have been "same old shit", not that that's stopped them before, but you'd think they wont follow Balor with one of those two.
Mr Fuji nooooooooooooo
I'm wondering if this is going to be some kind of angle where HHH wants one of his NXT guys with the belt.
Awesome to see KO with the belt though.
Seth was in NXT too though, so I think it has to be more than that.
I wonder if he turned on Seth for injuring Balor, his biggest NXT star.
Seth's been porking Steph, obviously.
The angle will be that he thinks he should be General Manager, which probably sets Team Foley vs Team Triple Haitch up for Survivor Series.
Wait, is Seth Rollins face now and Kevin Owens is a heel champions?!
I'm wet
Straw Boatmans' trousers make it look like he's wet himself.
Team Foley: Seth Rollin[g]s, Terry Funk, Kevin Sullivan, and the Usos (with a 'Sorry I couldn't be there' note from The Rock)
Team Triple Haitch: Kevi Nowens, Kevin Nash, Road Dogg, X-Pac, and Henry Godwinn
Rollin[g]s to put in a 2003 Shawn Michaels performance, only to lose when Godwinn comes back out, Slop Drops the cunt, and pulls Nowens over for the pin.
Which Godwin turned into Mideon? Henry or Phineas?
Phineas.
The end of Raw must be a record for Trips, he's managed to devalue a champion before he's even got the belt.
In before another title merge...
Owens
Good match and Owens sold the Triple H turn beautifully. Rollins face. Fuck the fans and their "You deserve this!" shit. Stop being clever and just play along you fucking awful cunts.
Owens should have power bombed him. Did anyone else notice Trips now has a fat scalp, it was unnerving.
If you go back to Randy Orton cashing in on Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam 2013, Triple Haitch has not only been involved in the main event/title programme for basically all of those three years, but he has personally crowned three of the four heel champions (Seth Rollin[g]s being the exception, who he was affiliated with anyway). What a legend.
Having Mick Foley stood there watching as HHH physically booked the match in front of him must be WWE staying on top of cultural trends and going with a cuck gimmick.
Well, Mick's got bigger problems with his reality show. "Daughter, you can't go out looking like that." <not pictured, Mick's other three sons>
In 20 years!
So apparently Del Rio handed in his notice the same time as he got suspended...amazing :D
Orton-Lesner II happening at a house show before the RAW PPV which really is lol.
So the wife has been nagging me for a while about going back to 90's to watch the WWF/WCW rivalry so we started tonight: Survivor Series 1997
That's ... not where it started.
At least go back and see the start of the NWO.
If it's WWF only then at least go back to before Razor & Diesel left. Watch the Razor/Michaels ladder match too because it's great.
1992 Royal Rumble, an hour of Flair and Heenan magic.
1992 Rumble was the first wrestling event I ever watched, and I don't think it's been topped.
If you want WCW finding it's feet with Ted's money, I'd suggest picking some trash like Halloween Havoc '95
For the wars, start from the first Nitro. Luger turns up in his frilly shirt. Then it's ...
- 18th December '95 Nitro: Alundra Blaze binning the WWF women's title.
- Memorial Day '96 Nitro: Scott Hall's double-denim showing up, followed by Nash a week later.
- Bash at the Beach '96: Hogan is the third man. Featuring GENUINE ANGER.
- October 21st 1996 Nitro: Sting's first terrible facepaint.
Then WWF ditch PG-13:
- November 4th 1996 Raw: Pillman's got a gun!
Then you can go to the screwjob and time-travelling Rick Rude. And 1997 is all about Sting.
That Reigns vs. Owens match is really going to get the crowd aligned how the WWE want, isn't it? I reckon Jericho costs Reigns and those two have a match at Clash of Champions. Though that may be way too obvious. It would make Owens look like a bit of a gimp though which is right up the WWE's alley when they want a heel champion.
That said I am enjoying this Jericho/Owens stuff more than I expected to.
Chris Jericho is the best thing in the company at the moment, the look on his face when put into a match with Rollings was priceless.
His disgust when Owens was speaking to Stephanie and Foley was ace too.
It's a bit shit that Cesaro's going to start his comeback in a house show, mind.
Interested to see what Raw does with the cruiserweights in a couple of weeks. Jack Gallagher being confirmed was the best part of yesterday's show.
http://www.wwe.com/f/styles/og_image...315efbefbe.jpg
Loved him in the Cruiserweight Classic so I'm pleased they've got him in.
Does make we wonder what the point of the CWC is now seeing as most of them are seemingly on their way to Raw, it certainly shits on things like Brian Kendricks reaction to losing if people already out are getting called up.
Well the winner is the champ right off the bat but you would think they should have made some pretence at the others getting signed up after the fact.
Or mentioned the title as the prize.
Still, I'll take Gallagher, Tozawa, Ibushi, and Dar right off the bat. I haven't see any of Sabre Jr yet but I'm told he's pretty good too. Round it off by nicking Will Ospreay and they'll have a decent division, now let's watch them bury it behind Titus O'Neil and Jinder Mahal.
Sabre Jr was really good in what I saw. I'm just catching up on more CWC now as I'm two episodes behind.
It's nice seeing somebody get floored on the outside and knowing it's not going to lead to "Raw continues, LIVE!" *WWE 2K17 advert*
Kendrick/Ibushi is definitely worth a watch.
I've watched all the matches up to that (and now Swann vs. that Lucha fellow) and after a slow start the quality has been fairly consistent. Actually enjoying most of them so I can't wait for Raw to ruin it by cutting the matches short to three minutes so they can have more Nia Jax squashes.
Speaking of which, what the fuck was having Bo Dallas job some nobody all about?
American Alpha squash the Usos leading to a belated heel turn. Top booking.
Smackdown was shit, and what the hell is up with their current testicle obsession?
AJ being incapaciated for about an hour by being dropped onto the top rope was typical of the WWE.
Still, I think my pet hate at the moment (well, after the fans who think they're bigger than the matches) is the suicide dive. Do we need to see it in every single fucking match? That and the amount of moves that are absurdly situational. I'm sure it never used to be this bad on that front.
The Usos needed to do something, I like it. Even their promo afterwards was better than anything they've done for a few years.
Sensible, now AA don't have to kill their momentum by losing to Heath & Rhino who either have to win or get cheated by a heel team.
Watched last week's CWC. Both matches were good but Kendrick/Ibushi in particular. It's a pity they didn't find a way to have Kendrick go an extra round because his matches (or his performances) were possibly the most unique. WWE haven't signed him, have they?
It's been needed for a while (I really thought WWE were actually going to do the sensible thing at one point and have them turn with Reigns) it just took them far too long to do it. Still, if they can get me to care about an Usos match again at some point in the future I'll consider it a job well done.
EDIT: Oh, and I finally got round to watching The Final Deletion last night. What a load of what the what, what?
Ian, you have some catching up to do. Jeff is now also broken and it seems to be a ploy from Matt to stop Jeff being a spotmonkey. They're feuding with fellow crazies The Decay. You might remember The Decay from such fellow stupid TNA stables as The Menagerie which was basically a circus act. They had a guy called Crazy Steve. They are now managed (?) by Abyss who has decided to be a Z-list Bray Wyatt. Come back to law school, Joseph.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeWEMKMV1Ko
TNA. Soon featuring Cody Rhodes. Also Maria Kinellis is a heel for some reason. She looks like Mae Young in a time machine.
The BBC reckon Batista is going to be at West Ham's stadium for whoever they are playing this weekend, because they filmed some of the movie he's doing at the minute there. I hope he's forced to hold up a West Ham scarf.
Will anyone be watching CM Punk's UFC fight this weekend? I'm not a UFC fan really, but I'll check it out.
His UFC fight is likely to be abysmal, ending in him being quickly biffed by the nobody he's fighting. He's looked terrible in the sparring videos he's posted.
It basically looks like a showcase of "how well can a (old, beat up) guy who trains MMA for two years do".
Do UFC do weigh ins the day before similar to boxing? It'll be interesting to see what he looks like at 170 considering he apparently walks around at closer to 220. In the documentary stuff I've seen it doesn't look like he's bothered to shift that much weight up to now.
WCPW have already got Del Rio appearing at their next show. I assume Paige will end up going along too. Although there's been no official word on her quitting has there?
She'd make more money staying put.
Was that Orton's quickest walk down the ramp to date?
Is Backlash worth watching?
I only saw the women's match last night which was a bit shite.
I enjoyed it.
It's very average, but not a bad watch, and it's not insanely long like so many of their PPVs. Nothing has blown me away (but the main event is yet to come) but nothing has been awful. Quite liked the Tag Title match.
The start of the IC match is meant to be a dig at Punk. If so it's the most subtle thing the company has ever done in their history.
They weigh in the day before, but it's not as regimented as it used to be. They can turn up to weigh in at any point from the morning to the start of the weigh in event, where they stand on scales for show and their weight from earlier in the day is read out.
Presumably that 220 is a 'billed weight', which the WWE have always exaggerated in a big way. There's no chance someone is cutting fifty pounds before a fight, particularly since IV hydration was banned. Anthony Johnson used to cut thirty five to fight at Welter and at one point missed the Middleweight limit by twelve pounds.
At a guess I'd say he was about 185-190, maybe less.
To go back on my earlier post, I forgot about that Women's 6 pack match. That was fucking dire, with 90% of the moves being "throw her out the ring, even though I should try and eliminate her". Pointless shit. Should have limited it to a Triple Threat or something.
Rest of the card was alright, with the Tag Titles being the highlight for me because it actually made me care. Styles Vs Ambrose could have been a 5 star match (it wasn't) and I don't know if I'd have cared. Just such a bland feud.
Yeah Backlash wasn't terrible by any means, just a solid if totally unremarkable show. At least Styles won.
Also the selection of belts currently is so, so boring. The four men and womens world titles are just reskins of each other, the tag titles they've done the same thing. What a load of shit. Did enjoy the tag stuff on the show, though.
EDIT: Oh, and interference or not what the fuck is Kane doing beating Bray Wyatt? I've never hidden my love for a bit of Kane but these days what's the point? Surely they're not planning to actually do anything with him?
Bray Wyatt, king of jobbers.
Another massive victory for me and Lewis there.
Ryback's legal first name is now Ryback.
The RAW main event was really good I thought. Well booked finish too.
Shame the women's stuff continues to be shit. I really don't rate Sasha Banks. Her Mark Henry rip off promo was so laughable too.
Banks is great in the ring, promos etc are hard to judge because almost everyone gets fed such piss poor stuff.
I'm watching an episode of Raw where the ropes make an almost inaudible creaking sound when someone runs into them and it's legitimately worse than waterboarding. Still, it could be worse, the last episode was the one where the tag team of Rikishi and Showkishi debuted.
I agree, the finish was cliche, but it made a lot of sense, which is a rarity for WWE these days. Rollins actually doing the smart thing and attacking KO rather than Reigns was nice, and then the Rusev run in actually made the inevitable Rusev/Reigns rematch somewhat interesting. It wasn't ground breaking, but it was good for what it was.
Oh I see, yes I agree with you in that sense. It also meant that Owens actually got to finish off the match himself which was good.
So what's the score next week then, do we think? Foley makes Rollins earn his shot or some sort of stipulation to the match?
That Nia Jax is atrocious.
I found you a new favourite wrestler Lewis, he even gets 'You shagged Thatcher' chants.
https://youtu.be/hFE_ZazJtX0?t=2m42s
I'll wait and see whether it infringes on my British Wrestler gimmick.
Alexa Bliss is probably the best bit of arse there's ever been in wrestling. I can't think of anyone better, anyway.
Has to be Billy Gunn, they gave him a song about it and everything.
AJ Lee of course.
Nah, those documentaries about her battered husband make her look like a boring person to be around. I can only assume teenage hormones were the thing that got me into Sunny. She (circa 1993) does nowt for me now.
.....
Stacy Keibler was always my favourite, one of the few who didn't strap on a wazzo pair of jugs.
So is TJ Perkins the Cruiserweight Champion then? I thought it was just a tournament and then the divison turning up on Raw, but I suppose he's been identified as the best Cruiserweight so they might as well give him the belt as well.
I haven't watched anything of the Cruiserweight tournament after the first week or two, so is it worth watching the finale?
Yeah I think having the winner be the inaugural champion makes sense.
He was given a lovely purple belt that looks more prestigious than the red supernova championship
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...ampionship.png
It's the only thing that makes sense since they started announcing beaten contestants were being signed to Raw.
Anyone know if Ibushi and Sabre are signing on as well?
The best thing about that belt is that it's not another replica of the World/Universal/Womens title
That is absolutely hideous.
The idea that any wrestling belt has ever looked 'good' is pretty laughable. They're all gaudy bits of tat with shiny on, of course they look shit.
It's obviously paving the way for Smackdown's Light Heavyweight division, headed by Jeff Hardy who'll bring his belt in with him
http://images4.fanpop.com/image/phot...91-600-268.jpg
I don't hate it. It's better than the recent new titles they've had. Nothing beats the IC title though.
I'm sure I'd read Sabre Jr. saying he wouldn't be signing with WWE yet which could be lies but had me assuming Perkins would win.
And I'd say it's pretty much all worth watching @Weaver. You've got through the first round it improved all the time from there. Or if you can't be arsed with all of it then at least anything with Sabre Jr., Ibushi, Gallagher or Kendrick in.
A guy at work has lent me PWG BOLA 15. It'll be the first low-rent wrestling I've watched a full show of. Doesn't have many people I've seen before but has a couple WWE have signed.
This year's BOLA has Marty Scurll, Wil Ospreay, Cody Rhodes plus several people who were in the CWC and a tag match from the Young Bucks who I've only seen clips of but look rather good.
That belt looks like a pleb made it at school.
Good lord the Undertakers biker gimmick was shit, which is saying something given it was just after he was a magic voodoo wizard for a bit.
I thought it was cool at the time but then that was the 2 weeks where I though Kid Rock was cooler than he deserved.
Has the Undertaker really had a gimmick anybody cared about the Undertaker having a gimmick anybody cared about since 1999 other than Being The Undertaker? At one point BIG EVIL just twatting little guys. Other than that brief moment when he held up Brother Nero's hand.
The simple dead guy gimmick (preferably with Paul Bearer) was the best one even if he did end up taking a year to get the ring.
Watching an old RAW while eating a disgusting takeaway dinner. I think I said this when I first started watching the Raws from 2000 after they were added but Commissioner Foley was so much fun. It's a pity he's such an overly-hairy waste of space on Raw at the moment.
I'm catching up on CWC and I've fucking well had enough of any sort of dive outside the ring. Every single one is an overdone sack of piss now. Having thirty of them per match obviously doesn't help but all the mugging to the camera/crowd before half of them is irritating and most times it looks safer than half the moves that take place in the ring because their opponent is clearly jst catching them.
This is almost certainly not worth the level of seethe I'm currently displaying but I'm getting so completely bored of them.
Crikey, that was a bit of special typing.
King of the Ring now and it's Kur Tangle (sorry, Kirk Angel) vs Chris Jericho up next.
There's an awful lot of rose tinted nostalgia around the Attitude Era but when you see the mid-card is Benoit, Guerrero, Angle, Jericho, Hardys, Edge & Christian and the Dudleys then it's no surprise.
Edit: Also a fat Teddy Long (before he discovered a penchant for truly enormous jackets) as a referee.
Limp Bizkit Undertaker had that weird heel turn where he battered JR for not kissing Vince McMahon's arse.
Well, y'know, he is Vince's bitch.
Ibushi v Perkins CWC semifinal was brilliant, overshadowed the rest of the show. A shame Ibushi didn't want to sign as he's been the best thing about the tournament, although I'm somewhat shocked Dribble H didn't end up going over.
I just watched Royal Rumble 2001 a few days ago where Haku turns up towards the end.
Kane was pretty dominant, and was in the ring for nearly an hour ffs before he got done in by Stone Cold. Drew Carey was one of the people too, for some reason.
That's the best rumble of all time.
Yeah Rumble '01 was absolutely superb.
Kane donning it, probably the best of Big Show's return-and-chokeslam-everybody moments, loads of proper big names involved,
Even though I knew it wasn't going to happen I wanted Kane to win so much at the time. :(
92 was the best rumble.
Vince makes a bid for TNA
http://www.inquisitr.com/3518230/wwe...ling-recently/
Hmmmm. I'm not sure how I feel about it.
Beyond content going up online what would they get out of it? And while it might be good to have some Sting/AJ/Joe stuff is anyone going to sign up (how much is it again?) just for that?
It's surely just a mental case ego thing. They should know their place; but no, they had to try getting on the telly and signing big names.
2000 era Michael Cole is announcing a non-partisan WWF initiative to get people to vote in the general election........from the floor of the Republican National Convention.
In fact, is it possible that wrestling (and specifically Maggle Cole) is to blame for Dubya? It would explain a few things if his entire presidency was a work.
Edit: Oh god they've called it 'Smack-Down Your Vote'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=565qnfe0qTE
At least 'The Donald' is a proper fan.
Wrestling scrambling for credibility is great. Shame the porn industry don't go for that. "Put your cross in my box. Vote Dole."
Er, I'll have to pay more attention and report back with my findings in his remaining matches. Although I see that Wikipedia says he has a move called the Cheeky Nando's kick. :face:
There's a guy in this who goes by the name of 'Trent?' When I looked at the match list and saw the question mark I assumed a typo or something.
It's a ridiculous spotfest but I did rather enjoy this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=misppGEDrk0
Partially because Martin Kirby is great, skip to about 2:15.
Jericho on RAW was gold, albeit he didn't have long.
Kendrick  Fantastic.
Jericho is as good as he's been since I got back into it properly, I reckon.
Was pleased Kendrick won as well, though it occurred to me halfway through that it was the completely sensible outcome. He was really good in CWC but for the people who didn't watch it (and therefore don't know what a TJ Perkins is) they should at least know Kendrick's name. Should be a good match.
I thought it was slightly odd that there was no CW Champion on hand when they 'arrived'. Also TJP is the first ever CW Champion according to Maggle, is he Maggle, is he really?
When it comes to the difference between WWE and WWF it's all a bit Sky Inventing Football with WWE, sometimes.
Makes me wonder if Hornswoggle ever officially vacated the title, I feel a surprise return coming on.
Sabre Jr vs. Ricochet at BOLA 15 is a brilliant match. What clips I'd seen of Richochet implied endless mental flips so him not doing much of that in this match was a pleasant surprise.
The one thing I didn't like about RAW was they built up there would be CONSEQUENCES for Rollins last week and then his punishment was... Having a wrestling match? God...
Thought it was a decent episode though. Quite looking forward to the PPV.
I enjoyed Raw for the first time in a few weeks last night. Probably because I ignored reddit while watching it.
I had Raw on in the background for a bit last night and got to admit I was actually laughing out loud at Foley trying to introduce the cruiserweights. I like the way he knew it was all going to shit and so just took what looked like his script and just read from it.
Yeah he made a mega hash of it. Smackdown was a bit pants. I like that they're making American Alpha go the long route though. It's a pity they don't have the tag teams to properly spin out their road to getting their title shot.
Just read up on Smackdown and there's one thing WWE seem to be doing a lot these days that really needs to fucking stop, and that's booking title matches between people who are already in future title matches. They had that Rollins Vs Ambrose match for the WWE Title and were talking about how Rollins could take it to RAW but why the fuck would it matter when Rollins Vs Ambrose Vs Reigns was already booked for Battleground and really only the outcome of that match would matter? They're pulling the same shit now with Styles Vs Ambrose next week and then Styles Vs Ambrose Vs Cena at the PPV. Fuck sake.
There don't seem to be many matches these days that aren't directly related to the feud. In the olden days you would have just had Seth Rollin[g]s against Rusev (or whoever) as the main event, and then Dea Nambrose would come down, cost Rollin[g]s the match in some way (making the opponent look good), and then stick his finisher on him to close the programme.
They did it twice on the same show, there was no way Miz was going to end his (according to JBL 'neverending') title run on normal tv so it was only ever going to be Miz winning via a cheaty finish
They love their tropes. Champions losing non-title matches and everyone completely forgetting about their opponent when entrance music hits are their greatest hits.
Referees made of paper.
Starting three hour flagship shows without a main event, but a coincidental scrap breaking out to allow one to be booked.
Opening every wrestling programme with an appearance from one or both authority figures because by hell we can't let the wrestlers overshadow the real talent (named McMahon).
I've always liked the inability to pay attention to crowd noise that signals an imminent intervention.
It seriously damages my ability to concentrate when they put heel/face tag teams in the wrong corners.
@Disco The amazing thing looking back at the "glory years" is that every fucking big match relied upon the referee being knocked spark out. Thank fuck they had the talent to prop it up because these old Raws deserved to be as shit as the current ones are if you base it on the booking.
I'd agree with that, the glory years are glorious because of the talent on show and because that talent was (most of the time) able to shine through the booking and questionable storylines. There's a lot wrong with some of what they were doing (good lord I cringe so much at anything Lawler says when there's a woman on screen) but they at least let the wrestlers express themselves and allowed plenty of them to be their own character. Listen to someone like Stone Cold talk about Paul Heyman and how he used what he learned from him in the WWF, that shit doesn't seem to happen these days when a lot of what people are saying feels like it's written by the same person.
Also The Worm, that was pretty great.
Didn't Vince McMahon say in the Stone Cold podcast that the rasslers themselves are less willing to take a chance these days (presumably because twenty years ago they had actual options, where as now they have TNA)? People seem to neglect that as a consideration when they're blaming the OUT OF TOUCH OLD MAN for all the problems.
I wasn't looking forward to Smackdown's PPV a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty good. I was looking forward to RAW's and it was shit. Smackdown 1-0 RAW.
Just started watching this and one thing that I noticed was Hulk Hogan being included in a WWE video package, voice only but they're clearly trying to slowly the work the old racist back in.
Raw General Manager?
They're seeing how much they can take the piss with the Tom-spiracy now, this is ridiculous.
http://i.imgur.com/UHN2bzj.jpg
The worst one was him interviewing Perkins. He's a fucking cruiserweight!
Of the 7 Superstars who lost title matches at the PPV (2 in the women's, 2 in the tag, Universal, US, Cruiserweight) 5 of them have been given rematches and I'm only half way through RAW. Still time for Rollins to be handed one. What a fucking waste of a PPV, especially considering these rematches are on RAW and within 2 weeks.
Also, "Sasha Wanks" might be the worst insult in WWE history. :D
Are there any decent WWE documentaries out there?
I've got 'The Rise and Fall of ECW' and one about Stone Cold, but just putting the feelers out. It'd be great to have a proper series showing the history of it all. That'd be awesome.
Raw was fucking crap. And agreed about all the rematches. Totally ruins any of the prestige PPVs are supposed to have.
Beyond the Mat is the famous one from the late 90's. More to do with personal stories and wrestlers than a history of the business. The only series I can think of is the Monday Night Wars one they did bit I've no idea how good it is.
It's pretty decent to start with but I found it started to get repetitive towards the end. They should have just done a time line rather than episodes dedicated to one superstar/storyline.
There's the one about the history of Wrestlemania that's alright, but obviously all the in-house stuff is largely fluff about how great every idea was.
His parents are still two of the most bizarre looking people I've ever seen, but Miz is the best thing in WWE right now.
Smackdown was good. Miz v Ziggler has got me interested.
.....
Has Dribble H reappeared anywhere since his intervention? They really need to actually do something with that.
They're presumably slowly building to a Trips v Rollings Wrestlemania match, but don't know what to do in the meantime.
I just watched some WM17 at random. I'd totally forgotten JR shouting "Lita jerking Edge off" as she pulled him off the ladder. Might be my favorite commentary line of all time.
I'm not sure on the result of that one. I could see Ziggler going, but if he is, no idea why he main evented a top 4 PPV right before it.
Unless it's one of those retirements where he comes out of the crowd to beat up Miz rather than running down the ramp. I'm not sure how I'd feel about Miz losing the title, he's been brilliant with it so far and I don't think his gimmick works as well without a belt. I'll predict a non-finish due to them booking themselves into a corner.
I suspect a non-finish too. Didn't Ziggler recently-ish sign a new deal that kept him there for a few years?
I dunno what they'd do with Miz if he lost the belt (well, I do, they'd ruin what they've done) so I hope he keeps it but Ziggler has been doing better recently.
I don't think it'll be a non-finish either way. I wouldn't be surprised if Ziggler is finishing up, but similarly I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him the belt for a bit and then had Miz win it back.
You may have a point, and given this Bryan/Miz stuff they maybe have Miz cheat to win and then Bryan come out and give it the THIS MATCH IS BEING RESTARTED!!1 treatment and Ziggler takes it.
Setting up a 'not in the face' match between Miz and Bryan.
Jamie Noble is in critical condition after being stabbed twice outside his home. Fucking hell.
He lives in a trailer park in real life. I love that.
If you're on tour all the time, why shift?
On a lighter note, OSW's new one is out. I'm kinda hoping they ride the WCW train all the way to covering the nWo.
Del Rio has been stabbed too, which is a pretty good reason for the no-show the internet was slagging him off for. Doesn't live in a caravan though, sadly.
Probably Paige just getting even from another domestic.
So I'm at the point in my trawl through the network where the Nexus have debuted and Barrett is feuding Cena.
He appears to have stepped straight into the main event, looked the part and then just been sent back down the card for no real reason.
Well, Cena really needed that push.
Cena, Styles and Ambrose jerking the curtain tonight.
Just read that, the article speculated that it's to avoid a clash with the debate. Madness. Miz/Ziggler to close the show?
Also I've just watched Sheamus/Morrison ladder match from TLC 2010. Must be one of the better ladder matches WWE has had. Mostly because it was an actual match, not the bones of one draped around a bunch of spots that are barely related to each other. Really good.
I seem to recall Jericho Vs Michaels being a brilliant ladder match, but not seen it since the event.
You would of thought they opened up with Miz-Ziggler?
Opening with the triple threat is lol really.
If the second debate is on at the same time it'll be because their ratings were in the toilet up against the first one.
They'll put Ziggler's retirement on as the main event.
Confirmed that Becky v Alexa Bliss is cancelled.
:D
There fucked.
Odds on Ziggler losing but then turning up on RAW tomorrow?
I've not got there yet, but I'm fairly sure I've had it spoilt for me that he won. Even if he didn't, this couldn't happen, it was directly mentioned when the match was set up that he had to leave WWE and couldn't go to RAW or NXT.
I thought the WWE title match was awful, mainly due to the stupid false finish thing. I hate when WWE make up the rules to suit themselves.
It strikes me what they should have done with the WWE Title match is ruled it a draw, and then stated the champion retains on a draw, and had Styles sneak out with the belt. He could easily of spun it that he knew the rules and outsmarted them. It has precedence too as when Edge and Benoit beat each other (Edge pinned Benoit while tapping) in a Triple Threat against HHH, Bischoff said by the letter of the law HHH should retain but he wouldn't do it and vacated the title. I know WWE don't remember last week, let alone that far back, but I think that would have been better than pinning Cena with a chair shot, which really proves nothing. The heel heat when they announced that
Didn't like the PPV at all really. The Smackdown Tag division is wank, the 2 Divas matches felt like such filler, and the main event, I couldn't be less interested. Miz/Ziggler stole the show once more, but that should have gone on last.
Even the good matches were pretty low-key somehow. I liked the triple threat other than the ending, enjoyed Miz/Ziggler and it should have been the main event and I thought Orton/Wyatt was decent if a touch dull. It's good that Harper's back too and I was undecided who I thought they'd have win but I was glad they went with Wyatt.
Skipped the womens matches. I didn't pay full attention to Swagger vs. Corbin but I like that they actually built up the stuff about the ankle lock.
I thought Ziggler's match would have been last, soon as I saw it was I knew Dolph was gonna win. What shite from Orton and Bray.
Paige is suspended again - That's her fucked, no way WWE pushing a person with 2 suspensions on their name (See Swagger)
Doesn't Orton have two?
I would've had Dolph lose and then farm him to TNA.
Broken Dolph?
Nah, he'll just scrap with Aron, Cody (tm) and Al Snow in the mid-card.
He did, but I'm sure they wrangled it somehow so he lost one of his strikes for some kind of good behavior because they wanted to keep him around in case of a 3rd.
Oh and Paige might have gotten away with it, had she not said on twitter that "Rules apply depending on your status."
They essentially made Randy do the Wellness equivalent of a speed awareness course.
She's absolutely right. They'll never fire a big name for it, no matter what they do.
So I'm still going through old Raws and PPVs and up next is the 1998 Royal Rumble which I think is where Michaels fucks his back against Taker.
Got to say, I'm a little surprised at the things I'm enjoying:
- He's still a bunk-eyed twat but, my God, Michaels is absolutely amazing in that smarmy heel leader of DX. An absolute cunt but I just can't get enough of him and he is so much better than 'Hunter' at this point it's ridiculous.
- One of the biggest surprises for me is just how much I'm enjoying Marc Mero. I've only ever heard people talk shit about him but I think he's a really good heel actually. And it helps that a scantily clad Sable is always following him around.
- Also absolutely loving The Artist Formerly Known As Goldust. Bat shit mental but entertaining. Luna Vachon probably counts as shameful lustage.
- The standard of commentary is just so good. JR, Lawler, Cornette are in a league of their own, obviously. Kevin Kelly is adequate and Michael Cole still gave a shit at this point, so I don't find myself tutting with exasperation like I do when I watch the modern day shit.
I can't figure out Mark Mero. I don't think I've ever seen him in a good match. In WWE he was basically 'guy that's married to Sable' and in WCW he was on the arse-end of the card.
There's a story behind Mero, apparently Vince saw him performing (not sure if it was wrestling) as a particular character and signed him, not realising that he didn't have the rights to that character or that he only knew how to be that one character.
Then Sable happened to him.
I now have both editions of What Culture's "Wrestling" magazine and I have to say they are really impressive. Expensive, but worth it. I picked the 2nd one up in Smiths but liked it so much I ordered the first one from their website. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys their channel.
When it first happened I really thought the Jericho/Owens was just filler until they decided what they were doing with Owens. Whether that would still be the case had Pap O'Shango not got injured I don't know but now it's consistently the funniest thing in WWE. Three cell matches is going to be an absolute yawnfest.
Yea, they've both really nailed the character work, and "The list" is brilliant. It feels like at some point Jericho has to get into the title picture and I'm surprised they didn't do the Triple Threat at HIAC but it is too soon I feel. Let them go a bit longer first.
Raw is pretty fucked when Fozzy start touring.
Yeah, the List of Jericho amd "You just made the list!" is funnier to me than it really should be. Hopefully Glasgow will make the list when I go to see Raw at the start of next month. Not that I'll notice because I'm just going to have to chant "This is awesome!" for the entire time I'm there at the top of my voice so I feel like a proper WWE fan.
I always wonder why UK fans, for the most part, stick to the bullshit USA chants rather than coming up with some good ones. The "Hey Bayley" one from Takeover: London was class. We need more of that.
I'd like to hear 'Tonga Jeff' to the tune of Big Jock Knew.
The "Ohh Ahh" chant started at Takeover London.
Who were the other 8 mayors of Suplex City?
Some nerds went for it, and it turns out he was punning with night-mare/mayor.
Is he actually saying nightmare? What a juggins I must look.
Who's the day mayor?
Some jobber apparently going for a World Title shot Tuesday on Smackdown :roflol:
It's nice when a match surprises (sort of, I check show reviews first) going through old stuff on the Network. I'd never have watched Orton vs. Christian but their Over The Limit match is bloody great.
I've always thought it was 9th Mayor as well.
Unsurprisingly neither Goldberg or Baroque are set to appear at the Raw in Glasgow that I'm at.
I'll just have to make do with Noam Dar, I suppose.
.....
Ooh, Money in the Bank '11 is up next for me. I've heard this Punk/Cena match is a) a proper classic and b) had a genuinely amazing crowd.
I've seen the promos that led up to it. Should be good.
GOAT PPV. Not just that match (they've had better wrestling matches but the storyline and the crowd topped it up) to look forward to either.
I thought the main event was great.
That was the night Punk signed his extention if I'm not mistaken.
Very much enjoyed that. Good show overall as has been said but Cena/Punk was a proper match. Not just going through the motions of their signature movesets as quickly as possible and then tacking some finisher kick-outs on the end. The crowd didn't do it any harm either. I laughed at Punk mugging to the "You can't wrestle" chants. Cena played it perfectly too. Just the whole thing was spot-on. Imagine if it'd had some competent commentary just to put the icing on it.
So Del Rio and Paige are now engaged. The lucky fucker.
Til she gives him two black eyes and he has to go and get stabbed for some peace and quiet.
lol at Mick Foley being screwed by his desperation to be liked.
What did he do?
Some fan sent him some angry messages asking why Summer Rae wasn't getting a push (as you do), he basically said she wasn't good enough, and then the weirdo fan shared their exchange. Do you think Triple Haitch has ever even spoken to a fan, Mick, mate?
Paige asked him to marry her? I bet he takes her last name....
Her carny family aren't happy according to their barely legible Facebook posts.
"NAW SONv o'MIN'es MAARYYIN' A GREEKE VASTARD!"
How good would the Goldberg music just hitting and interrupting Baroque Lesnar have been? But oh no. They have to introduce it.
Was it the good WCW music or the shit one from his WWF run?
Good music, decent entrance. As Lewis says, they should've used it to interrupt Brock. Complete with the security guard escort.
Presumably they won't have them sharing a ring aside from maybe a dramatic STAREDOWN. Would have also been better if they hadn't built up to it in fucking press conferences and just Goldberg interrupt Heyman/Baroque while they were doing some 'there's nobody left to job to THE BEAST' promo. Or something.
What we really want to see is a shoot fight triple-threat between him, Regal and Jericho.
I haven't seen it but supposedly they used the WCW music when he came out and then the WWE music when he left, which is just bizarre.
I don't get Lesnar Vs Goldberg. It was shit 12 years ago and now one of them is pushing 50. If Goldberg wins it makes Brock and everyone he's destroyed look like shit because they lost to a guy who can't beat an OAP and if Lesnar wins then Goldberg was just a waste of time. It's just not doing it for me. Give me more Owens and Jericho.
I can't see a way in which the match won't be shit and the result seems a foregone conclusion. It's hard to imagine Goldberg will want to do A Brock Lesnar Match and as you say, there seems little point in anything other than a Lesnar win. Which means you presumably have them try to actually wrestle a proper match that Goldberg then loses. Goldberg's not up to that and Lesnar isn't interested in making anybody look good even if they're not twenty years older than him.
I didn't really understand the Heyman/Baroque segment on Raw. Is Heyman meant to be scared of Goldberg on Lesnar's behalf, hence the weird flustered promo? is Lesnar meant to have some festering resentment after their last match?
Odd.
Lesnar probably does legitimately have resentment about the last match after how it came together, but I've not seen the segment. It doesn't surprise me if it was shit though.
It was just the normal Lesnar standing about while Heyman cut a promo thing but Heyman was doing a lot of faux-stuttering and it was just odd.
Trying to cut a heel promo in Baroque Lesnar's home town was good scheduling as well.
Yea just seen this on a dirt sheet:
According to Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio, Vince McMahon "blew a gasket" last night at WWE Monday Night RAW in Minneapolis due to the crowd's response during Brock Lesnar's segment with Paul Heyman.
Heyman tried to get the audience behind Goldberg, but fans chanted "Goldberg sucks" in support of the hometown favorite Brock Lesnar. Brian Alvarez also mentioned that this was not how the segment was supposed to end, and apparently Vince "pulled the plug" in the middle of Heyman's promo.
They have wasted Lesnar for eighteen months, and this is a terrible programme. If he wins what was the point, and if he loses then where does he go from there (and why is their top man being knocked off by a retired old bastard)?
You forget wrestling logic, old retired bastards only get better with age. See, well every return ever.
The Immortal Hulk Hogan maybe. But not all of them.
The Rock murdered all the Wyatts (in more ways than one), Stone Cold and Michaels dicked a load of guys over basically in their slippers at a recent Wrestlemania, Nash came back not long ago donning most of the Rumble in the process and Mad Dog Vachon beat up current (at the time) roster talent with his own wooden leg at his Hall of Fame announcement.
Age equals badassery, it has always been thus.
Turns out Goldberg is younger than I thought. As you were.
Sting losing to HHH was great, but then they already did that with Goldberg the first time.
Speaking of the Rumble are we in line for any obvious winners yet, assuming Reigns isn't winning it every year until the fans give up and start cheering him?
When is Pap O'Shango back?
I hope the Rumble winner has the chance to switch brands.
In the recent tradition of totally predictable Rumble winners it has to be Balor. In my dream fantasy world it's a completely un-billed Shinsuke in at number 30.
It's going to be one of the Shield lot.
.....
Couldn't agree more.
They really do need to have a jobber win it one time. It's one of those matches where, if this was all real, as they are supposed to pretend it is, someone shit would have won it by now. I guess Vince won one, but that was too long ago. It doesn't take any skill to throw someone out the ring, so the top guys always winning even if they enter number 1 is a bit stupid.
Said jobber doesn't need to make it to Wrestlemania, but still.
James Ellworth, come on down.
Wouldn't be a bad shout, although the inevitability of Ambrose screwing him over and stealing the shot, and another member of The Shield main eventing WM would be annoying.
Still, I'd take it.
He's got his own t-shirt already despite not actually being contracted which is a bit mad.
Elsworth is more over than most of the roster.
He's probably better off quitting now and milking it on the indies before he outstays his welcome like Colin Delaney and Zach Gowen.
.....
Even somebody who is legitimately a massive strong bastard winning it would be a surprise, which it shouldn't be. Every time a Kane or Big Show enters the commentators shit their pants and then of course they don't win.
I'm enjoying '11 vintage Mark Henry on the Network just now. Have him win it and reopen the Hall.
Didn't Big Show get booed to death last time he came out and cleaned house at the Rumble? The other problem with someone big winning it (as much as I loved Kane at various points he needs to stop) is that you immediately assume their WM match is going to be crap, which it would be. To steal a someone else's catchphrase, new era same old shit, it's not 2005 any more.
Of course, but if we're talking about a surprise winner (who will lose the shot anyway or at least not main event) I'd rather have a competent big guy win it than No Chin Music.
#MagicOfTheRumble #SpecialAlabamaDomeNights
I'd rather have a big name from NXT (Jeff or Nakamura this time, maybe a bit early for Bobby Roooooooooooooooooooooooooo) as a surprise entrant, or at least a big guy who can work a bit. Not sure who that would be these days, Straw Boatman can fuck off for a start.
Tonga Jeff needs calling up to Smackdown, pronto.
I'm not sure what you can wring out of that Japanese lad when he can't speak properly.
Obviously Hogan is still the best choice to win the rumble.
Quite enjoyed the wimmins match and glad it got to actually be main event. Before I realised on the Network the crap post-chat thing was going to be counted part of the PPV and therefore the running time I wondered what was going to fill up the show after their match.
Liked Owens/Rollins as well. They've made Rollins look invincible but they're making similar mistakes with Owens as they did with Rollins because they only know how to book one type of heel nowadays.
I liked the women's match to a point, but couldn't help but notice how sloppy it was throughout. It wasn't close to being their best match unfortunately. The start and finish were both wank, and that killed a lot of it for me.
Owens Vs Rollins was also alright, but again nothing ground breaking. That was probably an improvement on their other matches though, which is something.
All in all though thought it was another sub-par effort from the RAW brand. Smackdown really does shit all over them.
How sloppy did Goldberg look in that opening segment? It's going to be even shitter than I thought.
So ... did Becky Lynch have an abortion or something?
If she did I fully expect WWE to use it for a heel turn, probably for a feud with Nikki "John doesn't want kids" Bella.
Can anyone recommend any decent wrestling documentaries?
I've watched 'The Rise and Fall of ECW' and one about Stone Cold Steve Austin on a plane this last fortnight, and any others would be cool.
I'm sure this was asked not long ago.
"Beyond the mat" is probably the go to one. The "Monday Night Wars" series on the network is good too, though gets a bit repetitive towards the end. I enjoyed the Paul Heyman one they have on there too, but I've not really watched many.
Whichever commentator it was who said Rusev was trying to take Goldberg down at the knee when he in fact stumbled donned it. What a load of shit that is going to be.
The ones for Paul Heyman, Foley and CM Punk are all really good. Big Show's pretty decent as well and it's just under an hour. Not documentaries but if what you're after is wrestling people talking about wrestling then there's good stuff on the Stone Cold Podcast and Table for Three as well.
Wrestling With Shadows is good.
I love Wrestling with Shadows. I've watched it loads of times.
The only thing that's missing is a quiet dinner scene being ruined by the sounds of Stu choking people in the dungeon. When Vince leaves his office. :D
Raw tonight. Top three things I'm hoping for:
- 40 minute Authority promo
- Thirteen terrible, overly telegraphed suicide dives per match
- Return of D'Lo
This time if year is crap, they really do phone it in until the Rumble rolls around.
I'm hoping for:
- Rusev getting owned by a pensioner.
- Roman Reigns going over someone more talented than he is.
- A random 6 man tag made up of midgets no one cares about.
I think I'm going to be happy.
And I realise that all happened last week, but it was so shit it's worth doing twice.
I think we're all just on countdown for Hogan's WrestleMania return now.
That's one pensioner who could beat up Rusev all day every day and I wouldn't get bored of it.
There speaks a man who didn't watch Hogan vs Sting in TNA.
Of course I did. Who wouldn't watch Hogan.
Anyone from Gawker.
Anyone who wanted to see a decent match or hear someone talk coherently. He's been fucking awful since about 1995, he should be limited to hobbling down the ramp once or twice preferably accompanied by someone who can cover for all his mistakes (like remembering where he is or how to count to 10). He needs to disappear gracefully like he should have done 20 years ago.
Why the fuck did Hogan wrestle in jeans during TNA. Surely that's not going to do him any favours.
Also, lol at Sting wrestling in a t-shirt.
Can he actually perform a leg drop, though? If he's just going to point the finger and deliver a 'big boot' to the knee cap then forget it.
Even that would be better than Reigns. Or another Rock return.
I remember on the old board every Monday night you'd get an extra 4-5 pages added onto the thread with the running commentaries of shows. I couldn't even imagine sitting there and watching a three hour Raw now and going through all the old stuff just really brings it to light how bad the product is these days.
Indeed. This thread wasn't even bumped for HIAC until the Tuesday I think. Interest in it is at an all time low.
It doesn't help that RAW is shit and Smackdown is still Smackdown.
20 years ago Hogan had just broken out the beard dye, he was never better.
This sounds better than any RAW in the last 5 years:
We reported at various points this morning that a fight broke out between Chris Jericho and Sin Cara while backstage over the weekend at a Live Event in England. We noted earlier that one first-hand account says Sin Cara struck first and Jericho answered the attack by biting the cruiserweight until the two were separated.
According to Dave Meltzer the incident happened while the RAW crew was traveling from Leeds, England to Glasgow, Scotland for tonight's RAW. Cara was reportedly kicked off the bus the crew was traveling on.
Meltzer noted that Cara was making annoying noises while on the tour bus and while people were telling him to stop, he kept making the noises. This led to Jericho "more forcefully" telling Cara to stop. Cara reportedly told Jericho to "fuck off" and words were exchanged. Cara threw a wilds right hand at Jericho before others jumped in to break it up. Jericho then bit Cara's finger during the pull-apart. Cara was then kicked off the bus.
One account noted that Cara snapped in about two seconds without any warning or reason.

Get the mask off him now.
what's smackdown like? i've read a lot of people raving about it on the f4w board but i assumed partly just compared to the utter wank WWE has been putting out for years.
i basically want the product to be exactly like Heyman-booked mid-2000s Smackdown; wins and losses matter and an intense, slightly dark tone but presented like a real sport.
It's better than Raw but neither are as good as NXT these days.
One day I'll binge on the NXT stuff, I'm partly a bit scared that i'll get really into it and it'll take over my life.
Oh, I'm going ROH in Leicester next week I think, which'll be fun. Probably.
What's the card like, any Bucks of Youth?
YOUNG BUCKS (MATT & NICK JACKSON) VS. MARTY SCURLL & WILL OSPREAY
CHRIS SABIN VS. ADAM COLE
ALEX SHELLEY VS. JAY LETHAL
reDRagon (BOBBY FISH & KYLE O'REILLY) VS. JAY & MARK BRISCOE
JOE HENDRY VS. ACH
THE ADDICTION (CHRISTOPHER DANIELS & FRANKIE KAZARIAN) VS. DALTON CASTLE & DELIRIOUS
LIO RUSH VS. DONOVAN DIJAK
He's asleep.
RAW sounds like same old, same old, but the Bayley chant in the video going around was awesome. Charlotte handled it so badly.
Feels very much part of a production more than a show designed for a live audience but I'm glad I went. Probably a crap show though.
You're right about Charlotte and the Bayley chants.
Also in the post show dark match Rollins busted out Hogan's no sell, Hulk up, punches, boot, leg drop routine which I enjoyed.
I'll be interested to see if the audience is as disjointed/shit as it seemed there. People seemed to struggle to get back into things what with the massive gaps where you're sat in the dark and expected to be entertained by your fifth Total Bellas advert of the night. Seemed pretty dead during some of the bits.
At the Newcastle house show there was an awful lot of bairns in Cena gear. I bet they were gutted.
That's inexcusable for a recorded show to be fair. If it was going out live then they don't really have time to do anything during an ad break (assuming it's not mid-match) but recorded they should be doing something, or skipping them. The first show I ever went to (the first Smackdown ever taped in the UK) has a surprise appearance by THE UNDERTAKER half way through that wasn't on TV as he had been written out at the time. He wrestled Heidenreich and it was awesome.
I had a friend who was in Australia at the time and when I told him about it he got so confused and thought WWE had different storylines in different countries as Undertaker had been written out "there" and he seemingly didn't understand the concept of a Dark Match. I had a lot of fun with that, making up random shit that was going on here until he worked it out.
That era of Smackdown was so good though. Thinking back to that show just makes me sad about what a state the product is now.
Watching this back it's even better with the commentary seeing how desperate they are to explain the concept of a Survivor Series. Mind-boggling. We've seen one before, lads.
The bit I don't get is Zayn Vs Ziggler. That's just mental particularly if you're not going to have Reigns Vs someone from Smackdown.
Makes it look like they know what they're doing with Zayn, I guess.
I assume it's a way to get Zayn over to Smackdown
Well that would just make a mockery of the brand split. The only way to do it is have Ziggler win, but surely they could have got a jobber from Smackdown. A Zayn win ends up with the IC Title moving to RAW, unless they do another BS "HIS CONTACT EXPIRED AT MIDNIGHT AND NOW HE'S HERE!" like they did with Swagger.
Presumably the argument would be that the title belongs on Smackdown, so if he wants it, he has to move. It would be shit, but Zayn should be on Smackdown anyway, they're really struggling for top babyfaces.
I wouldn't really buy that seeing as how they had to draft Miz to get the title. They can do it, but yea, it would be stupid.
Has Swagger done anything at all on Smackdown since he showed up with a new catchphrase that meant nothing?
Given he was THE REAL AMERICAN and he lost the night after 9/11 to Jinder Mahal, anything is an improvement.
To think he was the world title challenger at the same Wrestlemania where Fandango beat Chris Jericho. What an event.
Did Thwagger have a couple of matches against Baron Corbin? That sounds like something I wouldn't care about enough to remember properly.
He did, yeah. When you want to get somebody over obviously you bring in Big Jack Swagger.
I still can't believe he lost that match to Jinder Mahal. It would somewhat make sense if they went on to use Jinder for.... anything, but he just lost to everyone after that. Way to big him up before sending him to Smackdown.
This is why it's a shame there's nowhere else for these wrestlers to go when WWE haven't got a fucking clue what to do with them.
Not all of them want to. There'll be guys there same as every other job in the world who are just happy to collect the best money they can.
One of the guys I went to Raw with yesterday was telling me that NJPW have signed Billy Gunn for some tag tournament thing they're doing. :moop:
It's also the first I'd heard of 205 Live. Is the point of that that they get more screen time for promos and shit without Raw having to pretend they think a smaller guy is a real wrestler?
.....
One of the Survivor Series teams has changed:
Toggle Spoiler
When Bryan came out saying THERE'S ONE MORE NAME ON THE LIST I DIDN'T MENTION and with the Undertaker coming back next week, they've served up a right Gobbledygooker there.
Lol at Goldberg outdoing Heyman on the mic last night. Him and Bray Wyatt have been repeating the same promo for about three years now.
Goldberg has been better in his two/three promos this time than any of his first WWE run, really. And I'm not sure what Heyman's scared-of-Goldberg shit is about. He's better when he's being snidey.
Heyman does good scuttling though, got to have at least a little bit of that.
So does that mean that 'Taker is back for a proper run, or what?
I thought he was at least going to be team mascot, but then Ellsworth has that spot locked up.
I doubt he's back properly, but he'll maybe do a handful of matches.
Poor Ziggles. :(
Survivor Series tonight. It's gone old school?

you can actually see me losing my shit in the background :D
That Survivor Series card looks fucking shit.
My optimism will no doubt be punished but I actually quite like the look of the card for tonight, if only because the TRADITIONAL SURVIVOR SERIES MATCHES (thank goodness they've explained the rules for these a hundred times in the past month) should have enough time to not see 70% of the entrants eliminated like chumps as they usually are and that they're making up the bulk of the show.
An article on WhatCulture quoted Goldberg as saying his body feels "horrible" so he should be in a good place to take forty-eight German suplexes. That match should comfortably be the worst of the night.
It was almost certainly be shit, but given I have a week off work I'm tempted to stay up.
I'm going to have it on in the background if I can find a decent stream for it. Watching Goldberg get fucked up is worth choosing this over a film.
I'm definitely staying up. I feel quite excited, but at the same time, know I'll be disappointed. It's always the same, really.
Booker T is such an annoying prick on these pre-shows. He just says random lines that don't fit with anything and then laughs at them. "Time stands still for no man.... or woman.... HAHAHAHAHAHA".
Team Raw for the mens, Team Smackdown for the women, I haven't a clue on the tag team one but I imagine the New Day will be directly involved in the finish as they're coming close to a record. I don't know why Zayn is against The Miz as I thought Dolph Ziggler was the champion whilst Kalisto is blatantly winning the cruiserweight given Raw have fucked it up already.
SvN will be right, of course.
I'm amazed the cruiserweight division isn't inter-branded. Would of made a lot of sense if that happened.
I might watch this on catchup if they don't fucking edit Goldberg getting F5ed by the beast or something similar.
Does anyone have any idea which woman from Game of Thrones Becky was referring to? That's really confused me.
If that 205 Live thing is going after Smackdown then it makes sense for the cruiserweights to be on Smackdown in that sense. Not so much in that Raw, in theory, could be making better use of the extra hour.
Guys!!! Arb bets!!
Sky bet has Lesnar as 6.00 and Paddy has Goldberg down as 3.40
Also Raw to win is 8.00 on Sky and Smack down at 7/4
My account is suspended on Sky... Crying here
Suspended on Paddypower. Presumably they've realised their cockup.
Otherwise, can we please spoiler betting odds, as it often ruins stuff.
You do Paddy I'll do Sky?
There's not a chance Goldberg is winning tonight.
Pile on Lesnar then. He's massive odds according to Jeet.
I would if I had any betting accounts. That and I had any faith in WWE. By "not a chance" I of course mean "There's no way in hell he should win, but WWE can't book for shit, so he probably will".
Isn't Goldberg allegedly injured? :sherlock:
He'll win by disqualification or something equally as shady. I suppose that's the problem when you've built Brock Lesnar to be a wrecking machine. I imagine Goldberg will be feeling sore in the morning.
Lesnar will win clean with the F5. Anything else would be a farce.
I'm calling no contest.
Goldberg doesn't have another match in him, it won't be a no contest/draw/DQ/any bullshit.
Funny that Goldberg looks in better shape than Lesnar, who's looking a tad chubby.
Do we know what the first match is?
Probably the clusterfuck tag match.
Four man booth?
Jesus.
I like Sasha, but she has no character these days. She's a crap face.
Team RAW (RAW Tag Team Champions The New Day, Sheamus & Cesaro, Enzo Amore & Big Cass, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, Primo & Epico) vs. Team SmackDown (SmackDown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater & Rhyno, Zack Ryder & Mojo Rawley, Chad Gable & Jason Jordan, Jimmy Uso & Jey Uso, Tyler Breeze & Fandango)
I haven't watched it a great deal recently but looking at it, it's a right mess.
New Day need to split, Sheamus needs to be released, Cesaro is never going to make it, Enzo is just a mouthpiece whilst Cass has no personality. Gallows and Anderson haven't really done anything whilst Primo and Epico are jokes.
Then we move onto actual jokes. I'd wager it's only the Uso's for Team SmackDown. I don't get the Mojo fella.
Joy. Women's elimination match first.
No Cole might make this show a little bit bearable.
Bayley to turn into full Cenahhh mode.
What the fuck is this entrance? :D
Carmella just gets no reaction at all. I can't see her lasting much longer.
That Adebayor knee slide from Naomi was amazing though.
So this is because we're in Canada right. Still pointless shit.
Oh God. I'm a little bit behind you both but fuck me she's useless.
Charlotte is getting dangerously close to shameful lustage levels.
Rikishi dominating in this match
Well that was strangely entertaining.
Fell a bit flat, but I'm not usually a fan of multi-people matches (anything more than a Triple Threat anyway).
Bayley though.
Cant wait to see how much of a clusterfuck the 10 v 10 match will be.
I've slept most of the day so stuck a stream on. When's Brock on?
EDIT:
Toggle Spoiler
Who the hell is that?
Maryse :serious:
It's Mick Foley.
There's Zayn's weekly fake injury.
I don't get what he brings other than consistency in his matches. He's just too bland.
That's actually hilarious.
I genuinely thought that was going to be Montreal 2784.
Those action figures. :D
Why have WWE never had a "Jump head first into a cage and hope it falls down" match?
This is going to be a massive dumpfest.
What a shit start
Well that escalated quickly :D
Anyone got an acestream or a non-shite stream for this? Ta muchly.
It's a shit stream
Leads to a 404. I'll stick with pixel heaven :D
That 619 from Cesaro was totally embarrassing. It was like Andre the Giant trying to do it.
Brian Kendrick vs Kallisto.
Why would anyone give the slightest shit about this? Talk about filler.
Well that was shit.
I don't even. At least the next two should be handy.
wait what AJ Styles is WWE champion?
Why do people watch this
This Elsworth gimp comes out and you're on about Styles? :D Sort yourself out, DS.
I'm barely watching, just hearing shit. Its painful.
Just googled him, is Elsworth an alien
Great pop for Jericho
in before Reigns overcomes the odds and spears the whole Smackdown team.
It's a shame, but its 100% inevitable that Jericho will be the first man eliminated.
These matches mean fuck all don't they? There's no consequence of Raw or Smackdown losing, I take it?
Again, what reason is there to care?
There was some vague threat about the Raw team's jobs being on the line.
Sometimes it's just a match to enjoy.
I can't believe I'm typing this but I don't think traditional survivor series works. :-\
That elimination of Braun was perfect.
Wow he threw him through a single table from ten feet holy shit
Jericho and Owens are fantastic. :D
WWE is dead, man. This ain't wrestling, it's just a bunch of dweebs doing fake moves for the geeks who are desperate to chant 'this is awesome' at the first chance. The entertainment factor is gone.
Yet you'll be watching TLC in a few weeks.
I've lost interest in this match, it's just a spot fest.
Tbf that spear was class.
That Shane elimination was almost perfect. Then he kicked out but got sent to the back. New era, same old shit.
I genuinely thought Shane got killed there. Such a stupid fucking spot for a part-time 50 year old to perform.
Yea, I thought he might be hurt. But even if he was, why not just count the 3.
This match has been going on for one hour now. Fucking hell.
Make the most of it as another 50 year old part timer is up next.
If Reigns wins I'm off to bed
Nailed on Taker costs Reigns and then jobs to him at Mania.
Well that was a bit of a shit finish considering.
Wait what? Is Orton a family member now?
Smackdown winning the proper 5v5 explains Raw pissing on them for the rest of the evening.
Whats the story with Orton? Is he in he Wyatt Family these days?
What is WWE's obsession with 40+ men. Is it a big homosexual muscular love in where they wank each other off in the showers or summat?
This is going to be fucking awful.
I hope Undertaker joins in halfway through.
Fair play to Goldberg btw. He looks in good condition.
I was semi-worried Goldberg would come out in jeans or something. Good to see him in his proper gear.
Can't wait for Kurt Angle and his neck of glass fighting at the next WM. Surely there's not many left to wheel out.
Pay Jon Jones big dollar and have him be Papa Shango/Junkyard Dog or something.
What the FUCK?!
The fuck?
Fucking hell.
That's shocked me as much as the streak being broken. What the fuck?!
What the fuck?
So Goldberg, a guy who hasn't wrestled in years, beats a former MMA heavyweight champion in 3 minutes? I get the angle, but its fucking gibberish.
So presumably something else is happening now.
Oh my fucking god. They may as well have done the finger poke of doom.
Guessing Brock got a good bonus for this or summat.
If anything, perhaps this puts an end to Lesnar's shit suplex city style. Maybe he'll admit he got complacent or something. I just can't think of any explanation for what just happened.
I've had wanks last longer than that match. WTF? I don't get it.
Oh wait, that's the end.
I literally stayed up and tuned in for that. Fuck this bag of old rotten jizz.
What an absolute load of complete garbage
This company is in the fucking toilet.
Well....FM anyone? :D
What happened to his son's shirt?
What is this Flair shit. :D
All I can guess is Goldberg couldn't go a full match and they chucked mad cash at Lesnar. Otherwise, what is point.
In fairness, that's the most I've been entertained by a Brock match since his HIAC match with Undertaker.
Where the fuck was The Undertaker? What a lying piece of shit.
The only way I saw Goldberg winning, and it was a long shot, was with Taker attacking him after and setting up Undertaker/Goldberg for WM. For him not to even be on the show after his Smackdown promo talking about Survivor Series is just shit.
When they announced it, I knew it was a lose/lose, but what they have just done is the worst possible thing they could have done. Goldberg won't show up again, and hasn't in any way made up for his abysmal mania match. Lesnar looks like a twat, and all the people he's destroyed have to now admit they got wrecked by a guy a 50 year old who hasn't wrestled in 12 years could beat inside a minute. Who the fuck booked that shit?
Is this down to HHH or was that role he was given just part of the 'universe'? I'm so out the loop but Jesus Christ this is like being a white couple and seeing your newborn slip out black.
See you at the Royal Rumble, lads. I'd rather throw my tv out the window than put Raw on tomorrow night.
Okay, the intro lasted as long as the match itself. Heyman losing his shit in the corner was a bit bollocks, though. Look genuinely fucked over. Also, Goldberg was gassed.
Who knew, at a PPV where Goldberg was fighting Brock Lesnar, that the undisputed highlight of the night would be Shane O'Mac getting speared. :D
https://streamable.com/nx38
Goldberg has signed up for the rumble match. 30th entrant and wins with one move.
All those training videos Goldberg put out were longer than the match he was training for. WCW guys are meant to be buried, so Goldberg vs HHH at Wrestlemania with DX fighting the West Texas Rednecks at ringside is a lock.
Isn't a match like that normally an indication that the losing party is on their way out?
Where's he going? WWE is his only realistic option now he's banned from UFC.
Back to his farm.
I wouldn't be surprised if he suggested it. 90 second payday, doesn't have to phone in the German suplexes.
He doesn't care, it's just a payday to him.
The company care about their biggest draw not looking like shit. It all points to him leaving, because how can you hype a re-match off the back of that?
Yeah, the WWE have never ballsed up the booking of their biggest draws. This is also the easiest thing in the world to book, Brock now has his ultimate challenge, the only man he couldn't overcome blah blah blah, it writes itself. They'll probably go for a lazy re-match at WM with a shit build but that's beside the point.
Anyway, The Undertaker is their biggest draw.
Goldberg has signed on for the Rumble, so that'll be the rematch.
I bet Brock loved doing that match. 90 seconds lolling around on the floor for a few million dollars and he doesn't have to do his Suplex City rubbish for 30 minutes while the fans fall asleep.
I think this post on reddit is great, and is one of the reasons why I didn't hate last night.
Quote:
Imagine all those kids who witnessed Brock vs Goldberg
All those kids who cried in shock seeing Cena get brutalized, or who saw this monster finish Undertaker's streak, or murder Orton, or put down Roman, or beat Dean
You know this Brock beast is the untouchable monster, you know deep down that none of your heroes come through for you to slay him. You get into the routine of watching Brock destroy everyone
Imagine seeing this Goldberg guy come out of nowhere, seeing the crowd erupt for him like none other, hearing about this legend who was like a good guy version of Brock.
Some guy who is immediately loveable because he does it for the kids, a guy who, for once, has a unified support from the fans. A guy who isnt booed. A match where the very audience isnt cheering for Brock like barbarians, or wanting to see the bad guy win and the good guy get hurt
This guy comes out of nowhere like a mythical legend, annihilates this Beast who has terrorized all your heroes, and is celebrated by the entire arena. After all hope is lost, after realizing there is no one realistically possible to conquer Brock, they pull this Goldberg guy out of thin air and immediately, he is unlike any other you've ever seen. You hear the stories of Goldberg and you hear how he beat Brock a long time ago, but you dont really know what he wrestles like.
And then you see the entrance. The sparks. The crowd in hypnotic unison. The kicks. The straight entrance to the ring from the back. He doesnt sell shit. He stands tall. He turns to crowd for approval, and the crowd roars for him. He hits his moves, and it's over. Brock is dead. He is scared. The slimebag Heyman, who has taunted you and your heroes is squealing.
It must feel really special to be a kid and see that history being made, and I bet a whole new generation of Goldberg fans were created, if not only for those 3 surreal minutes
The last sentence sums up my biggest problem with it: they've probably made a boatload of young Goldberg fans and for what? He may wrestle at the Royal Rumble and maybe Wrestlemania and that's it. There's no point to Goldberg in 2016.
It's WWE presenting their current guys as geeks and inferior to the previous generations. And they are inferior but when WWE portrays it that way they end up just shitting on themselves.
Old guys have always been better, it's just the way wrestling is.
It's setting up HHH to bury him again.
£££. From a financial point of view it makes sense and that's all there is to it. It was clearly a decision that worked given how social media blew up and people who don't give a shit about wrestling are talking about wrestling. It's a short term view but then when hasn't it been? When was the last slow burning angle? The last superstar to get over organically? (I don't include Daniel fucking Bryan in that either). It's impossible to cater for all likes and let's be honest, we more than had our fill back way back when. SvN's quote makes sense when looked at it from a different point of view.
Problem isn't even the way the match finished, in hindsight it was good as it opened up possibilities but that's where the downside is.
Three years ago I would have multi-quoted the shit out of this and gone to town. Now I just don't care. That's how far this has fallen, for me.
I really don't understand how your expectations can be high enough for you to seem so dejected every time you tune into WWE and, surprise surprise, find a 2010s WWE show waiting for you. When you watch a load of older stuff back to back though I can assure you of one thing, the 50/50 stuff aside the booking wasn't any better back in the "glory days" than it was now.
Anyway, I was unsurprisingly disappointed in general having allowed myself to become optimistic but I enjoyed the main Survivor Series match even if it soon became a spotfest, I enjoyed the main event more than it deserved and despite all the things wrong with it because I'm sick of Lesnar and wanted to enjoy both the IC and Cruiser matches if only they'd given the former a bit more time and not done that shithouse ending for the latter.
He is such a colossal yawn so while there are least three dozen reasons for that ending to be an absolute fucking catastrophe I was still grinning from ear to ear. Fuck you, Baroque. They'll have a rematch but it really wouldn't bother if he fucked off for a few years at this point.
Fuck off back to his farm, as Lew said. And just roger Sable quite a bit, you'd think.
Strangely decent show due to some surprising results. RAW going 2-0 up was weird too.
Expect Taker to cost Ambrose then at TLC due to his threat on SD. What a shitfest of a match that will be, AJ can just about carry Ambrose.
My expectations were that it would be crap and I was right. I haven't even watched any WWE in months and had this on because I saw an advert and put it on in the background. We're long past the point where I tune into a show and expect anything good, I'm not that dumb.
And the booking was better before, in my opinion.
Also biggest John O'clock ever when JBL shouted 'RAW WINS!' when Bray of Smackdown pinned Roman :henn0rz:
Then I'm obviously misreading the tone because you always write about it as if it's a personal insult.
A few extra stories kicking about, guys allowed to look a bit stronger but they were carried by guys getting absurdly over in spite of what the WWF/E wanted to do, not because of it, and giving them little choice. They had the same shitshow of terrible endings, your average Raw and Smackdown was still mostly crammed full of dross and you still had [wrestler]winslol, it's just that people liked Austin winning every single match.
If the booking was better it was only just. Watch enough back and you soon learn there's a fuckload of utter dross whatever era you're looking at.
Ive been catching up on New Japan's G1 Climax and it is really refreshing to watch. Kenny Omega is easily better than most of the blokes in WWE but I guess he is suited to the NJPW style.
You've taken that a bit literally.
You'd expect Goldberg wasn't in great shape to do an extended match, so it's probably better having him squash him in three minutes than engage in a fifteen minute match where they dodge each other, suplex each other, and Lesnar has to walk around taunting the crowd whilst Goldberg catches his breath.
It was also a nice touch for Goldberg to be soaking wet as soon as he came out of his locker room so you didn't notice the sweat flooding off him like during his promos these last few weeks.
I'm not sure why people are searching for positives in this, there are not any. Lesnar couldn't go on raping people forever but being "the man who beat Lesnar" was going to carry so much weight, and they've spunked it up the wall on an OAP who at best might have 2 more matches in him (The Rumble and WM) and who seemingly can't be trusted to wrestle for 90 seconds. I don't care how many Goldberg fans were created last night, it's an absolute fucking farce.
The positive is, I was entertained. And so were a ton of other people. You don't always have to look so deep.
Raw is on now so here's hoping for a quick explanation. Make or break from a storyline point of view or whether last night was all it was going to be.
EDIT: He's coming right out so here's hoping.
It's fake wrestling mate.
If people arent watching New Japan I suggest they get on board. It reminds me of old school stiff wrestling from the 80's
Goldberg hasn't lost in 12 years now so that's the streak to beat, when they give that victory to James Ellsworth so many people will feel silly.
Be fair, they jobbed him to a videogame, selling stuff is basically the point of Raw these days.
You keep coming out with this spiel but when was the last time a genuine effort to build someone paid dividends?
WWE built up Lesnar in his first run, he bolted. Heyman pitched CM Punk to beat the streak, he quit. Daniel Bryan had the opportunity before The Rock got injured otherwise Lesnar would never have faced The Undertaker but DB instead, he had to go through injury. Sting V Undertaker before it became apparent Sting could barely last two minutes and so on and so on.
Unless you can give me a genuine example of when the WWE spent years building someone up then successfully built on that then what gives you the confidence that it would have been different with Brock Lesnar? Fact is even if it was going that way and Lesnar remained unbeaten, the only legitimate person on the roster you would have fancied beating him lost to him at WrestleMania because the fans dislike him as he's not their chosen one.
Of course if all the roster were as reliant as the other disliked one, John Cena then you'd have much more confidence in the actual wrestler sticking around to make such a rub worthwhile. As it is, I can't recall a single example.
He's also a part timer with a penchant for walking away from stuff to find a payday somewhere else, how much of your full time roster do you really want to feed to someone like that? Bringing Glodbog back for a couple of high profile matches makes perfect sense, having Lesnar steamroll everyone every time really doesn't.
The fact they've been terrible at it in the past still doesn't justify lesnar losing to someone completely incapable of doing anything with it. It may as well have been Hogan, that would be exactly the same. At least Hogan could still throw a punch without falling over.
I never thought Lesnar should have beaten the streak because he was already as big as he was going to get. To give him it and job him to Goldberg cannot be justified.
It wouldn't have matter who beat him. Trade Goldberg for any other wrestler on the roster, if they'd squashed him it would have still been a WTF moment, if they'd beaten him you'd then have a wrestler who has the rub of beating the beast then probably lose to James Elsworth a few episodes down the line.
I'm looking forward to both Goldberg and Lesnar running riot in the Rumble.
I'd go one step further and have Scott Hall come out and taser him behind the ref's back. Big boot, heel turn cupping the ear to the crowd, air guitar, three leg drops, crowd throws trash in the ring.
Didn't miss a beat. What a hero.
Yeah, Hall was genuinely great. Never got the hype around Nash.
I'm sure we discussed it in here but I did chuckle at whoever it was (was it somebody as obvious as Cornette?) talking about having to get Fake Diesel and Fake Hall ready to, well, pretend to be them in matches, only to discover Nash only had three moves or whatever it was. Nash is shit and a massive cunt to boot.
To be honest if they're never going to let anybody proper look like anything other than a weak twat against Lesnar then by all means keep him restricted to these stupid novelty matches. Chess-boxing against Great Khali at Royal Rumble please.
It was Cornette, and I think it was five moves including the hair sweep.
Sidewalk slam, big boot, Jacknife Powerbomb, hair sweep....
What was the fourth? Politicking?
Kevin Nash is sound, and they could do a lot worse than giving him a creative role.
Undertaker announcing he's back and then not appearing on Survivor Series or the Smackdown episode after was great stuff.
The full Team Hell No and Ryback vs The Shield match from TLC 2012 is on WWE's YouTube channel
WCPW PPV coming to MK.
I don't know why I care, but it might be a laugh as it's down the road.
I still find it odd that WCPW is even a thing.
I find it odder that it's actually not bad.
I find it odder that Simon works for Eurogamer as well.
I wish we had something similar down here.
I'm keen to see how far it goes. It seemed to me to start off as a 'can we actually do this?' type of project but is seemingly snowballing. I mean they can already pull in great names.
It's been worth it just for Martin Kirby.
I never thought that I would say this but NJPW, ROH and WCPW make me care a lot more than WWE atm.
Credit where it's due, the girls were awesome in that main event last night. Not Sasha/Bayley levels, but probably the best main roster women's match we've had in a while.
Heyman's been really odd during this Goldberg feud and his unshaven, bleary-eyed look during the interview with Cole was just weird.
I thought it was great.
Cesaro and Sheamus' buddy cop routine in the boarded-off pub full of indy wrestlers was amazing.
The Elite are truly amazing!
https://youtu.be/xcgozCq8IhY
I'm hoping that the constant mentions of New Day beating Demolition's record actually work in an appearance by Ax and Smash. They'll look decrepit but it'll be worth it for the music and sex dungeon outfits.
Krona Krush and Black Top Bully meet backstage, they give each other a long look and then proceed to the nearest rooftop. Complete in Demolition gear, they powerbomb The New Day to the streets below.
Aren't Demolition part of that concussion lawsuit against the WWE? I thought that was the entire reason for them wanting to beat their record.
They look pretty shit nowadays
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cx1UsDIUsAAQSL7.jpg:large
First show I ever saw was Summerslam 90 where they brought in Crush because Ax had a bad heart so couldn't wrestle loads, how the hell is he still alive 26 years on?
I'm surprised they haven't had anyone take CM Punk's longest modern reign record with the world title, they did it with AJ and all she did was marry him.
It would appear the TLC PPV is tonight. I don't know any of the matches and too late to check now as I might hit a spoiler but the last time I enjoyed a ladder match I think was when Joey Mercury got his nose split wide open.
TLC was a bit shit.
I don't know that I ever enjoy the whole of a PPV where there are several gimmick matches that are, to all intents and purposes, the same.
- Wyatts vs. Rhyno/Slater felt inevitable but I am quite enjoying the dynamic between the three of them.
- IC title match I enjoyed because I like the two together, but presumably and hopefully that's the end of it.
- Corbin and Kalisto was far better than the non-entity I expected, because Corbin actually put some effort into it while Kalisto bumped how you'd expect but Corbin actually sold his attacks and made it feel like a proper match. I expected a procession.
- Styles/Ambrose.... I was bored of ladders and things by then, sadly. This was nothing special and I'm reading for Ellsworth to fuck off now.
Didn't bother with either womens match. None of it was remarkable but nor did I hate it.
I've put RAW on as last week's was alright, and the first 45 minutes have been really good. Not cared about Big Show since 2001 but it was close to a mark out moment, I just wish they had let him go over, though what they did protected both I guess. Owens Vs Sami, as usual, has been decent. Promising start, already better than TLC.
Ellsworth interrupting AJ when he was fingertips away from the title, then goes and pushes Ambrose because he wanted AJ to win.....
This Undertaker return's going great. Smackdown in Houston, not a peep from him.
Going to WCPW.
Angle Vs Del Rio sold it.
Ambrose deciding he didn't need to bother selling the endless work Miz had done on his leg in that IC title match so he could do one of his shit suicide dives was top, top stuff.
Unless it's Road Warrior levels of no-selling, I don't want to know about it.
He went from terrible over-selling to no-selling so he could do the dive then back to over-selling.
Has anyone signed up to What Culture's paid service? I'm definitely going to give a month a go.
Fuck yes Cody Rhodes is the newest member of Bullet Club!
I feel that warrents a :D but I'm hardly shocked if I'm honest.
I'm passionate. :)
It will be a good thing I reckon. His matches will be great over there and he won't have to spew a scripted promo. Are you not a fan of NJPW?
Never seen it personally. I'll youtube it

Kevin Owens 1-0 That kid's Mum.
http://whatculture.com/wwe/10-best-n...es-of-the-year
WWE really has a had an awful year in comparison.
Edit: I mean the Main roster.
According to Meltzer's match ratings, it's the best year in a while. I'd say the actual wrestling is great at the moment, but storylines are lacking.
Maybe it's down to taste but I really enjoyed Wrestle Kingdom and G1. Don't get.me wrong NXT is a brilliant show and for me is consistently more entertaining than the main roster.
I'll have to suss out more of Meltzer's podcasts.
I was talking to somebody yesterday about who the fuck they're going to have face AJ now. My stance was that matches between him and Ziggler should be at least consistently solid but that they haven't really done anything with Ziggler to propel him from losing out to Miz into the World title picture.
*Ziggler becomes #1 contender*
I get that Smackdown is going to have to have these feuds for the WWE title to boost the champ and kill time (there's no chance of Ziggler actually winning it yet, shirley?) but at least position the guys to do it.
Wait, he went from "I'm quitting" to "I'm #1 contender" in that short space of time?
That's gone a bit Eric Young, lads.
So from what I can see upcoming PPVs for Smackdown are Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and then presumably there'll be one more between that (at the start of February) and Wrestlemania. That being the case while it's still a bit odd maybe Ziggler sort of makes sense as he may only get a single 1v1 PPV title shot out of it. Depending on if my Google-fu has failed me or if there are likely to be any extra PPVs announced.
AJ beats him at the Rumble, Ziggler is one of a number (including Cena, as he's back soon) at Elimination Chamber and then..... Cena beats AJ at Wrestlemania to get his 16th?
Undertaker beating him and defending against Cena going for Flair's record is the general guess.

Are they shitting it about this ITV wrestling thing then?Quote:
LONDON — At a historic press conference at the O2 Arena in London, Triple H revealed that WWE’s first-ever United Kingdom Champion will be crowned this January.
The WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament is a 16-competitor, two-day throwdown at Blackpool’s Empress Ballroom, airing live and exclusively on the award-winning WWE Network, featuring some of the best talent the U.K. has to offer. The last man standing at the end of the tournament will be crowned champion and awarded a title, which was also revealed at the conference.
Yep they really are
Someone should have sent HHH a tape of when ITV did Celebrity Wrestling with D'Lo Brown and Just Joe coaching Lee Sharpe and Mark Speight (later mastered the suicide dive weeeeeeeeeeey)
Nigel McGuinness and Michael Cole commentating and it's going to be a weekly UK show now, what the hell
I really hope the UK wrestling scene forces the WWE to get back to basics and focus on professional wrestling and not the other nonsense that they continue to fail at.
My British Wrestler gimmick can only be introduced under a very specific set of circumstances, so I'll give this a miss and hope Grado wins.
Just seen the list of competitors for this and one lad from Wolverhampton is called Trent Seven. Can't help but think he's taking the piss because all of West Midlands' water supply is done by Severn Trent.
The belt looks like something made on a WWE 2K game.
Scott Hull.
I can't wait for Mr B. Rexit.
Doug Williams already bagged that.
Hull Hogan, surely?
The British Wrestler was actually conceived lolling at Nigel McGuinness, specifically him shouting 'LISTEN 'ERE TINKERBEW' at Jay Lethal (he wears a mask, so I also planned to cut the promos myself and have McGuinness do the wrestling), so this is a nice way to bring it about.
Hull, mate. Not Rochdale.
Reet Flair.
"Eeeeeeh."
Hull Corgan, obviously.
I did like Jack Gallagher announcing his intentions to interfere in a match and give Daivari a good thrashing. He's the first cruiserweight to offer any kind of character so far outside 'wears a jacket'
Ah, the Alex Wright.
Stop the damn match!
They made all those intro video packages for the CWC and now don't bother using them, I've never quite got that.
Roadblock was a bit pants (I read beforehand that Demolition are part of a lawsuit against WWE so New Day getting the record then immediately losing the belts really feels like a classic McMahon politics job) but Raw was absolutely diabolical this week. Smackdown was a bit better, and Miz's bit with Renee Young came as a bit of a surprise.
Despite not being the most talented, Miz must be comfortably their best heel just now.
Owens and Jericho are great
Owens is not a great heel any more because he's too likeable and he's never allowed to look strong. He's not allowed to be a proper heel (barely anybody in WWE is.)
Jericho maybe less so in that he's more overtly a dickhead. If they had any kind of depth for the main event I'd be advocating an Owens face turn and soon.
Naah, Owens is far better has a heel. It's just WWE to either make heels pussies or big giant steroid abusers who run through everyone until John Cena or Roman Reigns beat them and buried them.
:D
I quite enjoyed Smackdown. Or the main event at least. That End of Days/Zig Zag spot was nicely done.
I find heel and face dynamics a bit weird. I know the old guard like Cornette and JR scoff at people saying heels and faces don't exist anymore, but like...to me, a heel/face divide sort of implies a bunch of unambiguously good guys you are meant to universally like, and the opposite for the bad guys, but they certainly don't have that, and I'm not sure they could or even should. I'm not sure if the solution should be giving up on it entirely or just "book better".
There isn't even that broad a mix of characters in WWE anymore though, that's the problem for me.
They tend to fall into puerile gobby twat, brutish twat or a combination of the two.
JBL would blank and insult fans in his day to day life (it helps that he's a massive wanker anyway) but these days you don't sell as many lunchboxes as a proper heel. Essentially the game changed, the NWO and people like Austin / Rock etc ended any proper heel/face divide.
Indeed. I know it is a bit of a hackneyed critique of WWE, but their policy of hiring a billion failed sitcom writers really shines through in their characters as well. Rather than the wrestlers representing a wide range of believable blokes with relatable motivations, you've basically just got loads of two-dimensional sitcom characters.
I think the Dreamworks part of this meme is quite applicable with a few tweaks I can't be arsed to make:

Reminds me of an episode of Family Guy (I think), a fishtank full of ideas?
The cool heel needs to go away.
World of Sport Wrestling this afternoon. I think I'm more excited for JR than the actual wrestling, mind.
If there was any truth to WWE wanting to get Rousey in for something or other does her getting lolled out of the cage last night lessen their interest?
It didn't seem to do Lesnar much harm against Mir.
She has a better record than Brock so I don't see why not.
Because Baroque Lesnar was still a huge rasslin' draw, and had his illness excuse. She can't really roll in and start flattening everybody coming off two gubbings.
It doesn't because she's female so Stephanie McMahon automatically wants her involved so she can take credit for it. After all there is a REVOLUTION going on with such names as the US Women's Soccer team and that plucky up and comer Serena Williams.
WWE is going to be a right state when she takes over.
World of Sports looks abit shite on ITV :D
I think it's good in a 'wrestling is actually for kids' way.
Also, Jim Ross has made twenty minutes of this more exciting than the last five years of Raw.
Ooh, a mystery participant in the Battle Royal[e]. This is basically WWE had the Monday Night Wars never happened, and if Jim Cornette had absolute booking power.
Seems alright. High-work rate, proper telly nonsense with pantomime backstage stuff. And they'll probably only do it for 6-8 weeks and can book accordingly.
IT'S THE BRITISH BULLDOG's son!
That was very daft. Proper editing, lads. Any spot that looks a little watershed gets cut to a shot of a kid's face.
That was like an episode of Gladiators.
Grado though.
They really should have booed Davey Jr for being both late and Canadian.
I'm just starting this but for a minute I thought Alex Shane was actualky David Gest.
You think Grado's a riot and then you see this lad he's against. :D
Fucking hell.
"Grado's engulfed!", squawks JR as Mastiff makes an obvious non-winning cover. You wouldn't catch Cole calling that.
And he sounded utterly digusted when Mastiff won.
Somebody do something to get JR back on WWE TV. If it means murdering Vince then fine.
JR could get a snuff video over. I wonder how much they're paying him.
Hah, that backstage bit's amazing and immensely British,.
Grado: "HAW! Yew! Ah've been cheatet!"
Mastiff and his mates: "WwwwaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY YYYYYYY!!!!!!"
Heyman said JR is the best on the mic ever. On the basis that some twat like the Rock has to get 15 minute of promo over. JR has to get 3hrs of WWE's crap over.
And he's 100% right. JR is the best. The absolute best.
Also it's just real nice to see someone calling the match instead of the story of the match.
Well, that;'s the thing, is it not? JR turns the former into the latter but not in a "OMG YOU MUST BE SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW!" way that Vinne Mac hollers down Maggle's ear.
I love how much they're buying into the "this show wasn't booked in advance" WWE style though.
Trevor GM: "Listen, right, here in World of Sport we're dead prestigious and that, yeah? So we're gonna have to have a Battle Roy-ALL to determine a numbah wun contedah for Dave "Dave" Mastiffff, roight? Roight.,"
*entirety of the rest of the show is geared towards the Battle Royale."
How many you had tonight, Webly?
That Dave Mastiff is fascinating, he's the closest I've seen to a perfectly spherical human.
It was odd to watch, it was so obviously an ITV studio audience rather than a paying crowd that I kept expecting Vernon Kaye to be presenting it.
Who else spotted Adam Parmesan in the audience?
Did Big Daddy win?
Lol, his career ended when he fell on someone.
http://i.imgur.com/jeWY0ue.jpg
Big Show's going to be competing in the cruiserweight division at this rate.
He hasn't looked like that in 20 years. :|
Strowman is absolutely abysmal in the ring and needs to be cut, not even sent back to NXT. He offers nothing and that Last Man Standing match was wank. If Cole was even semi honest he'd have had to call spots like "OH MY GOD!!!! STROWMAN JUST..... lightly rolled him on to some contrainers!"
Samoa Joe should be in his role if they want a monster heal.
I'm desperate for a good Wrestle Kingdom stream if anyone would be kind enough to send me one?
That's the first time I've seen Jack Gallagher on that RAW recap, but he's already the best wrestler on the roster today. At least until Hogan comes back at Mania.
Strowman's got too kind a face to be a threatening monster, the entrance music RRRROOOOOOARGH bit is more funny than foreboding.
I like him purely because at least the WWE are attempting to develop a character with him and he's a bit of a unit.
I really liked Strowman from the bits I've seen of him. It's about time they started pushing these circus show freaks because that's what wrestling is for me. Him destroying that jumped-up cab driver makes it even sweeter.
[gifv]M7Aagob[/gifv]
I'd seen that before (on here I think) but didn't realise it was him. What a legend.
Is it any good?
tl;dr
On another forum I go to ppl are pretty hyped up for it. Some say it's much better than WWE. Personally I've never watched it or gave a fuck about NJPW but I'm trying to open up my horizons.
It's supposed to be the "SUPER BOWL OF JAPAN" so it must be pretty good, right?
I'll probably watch a replay but Queenslander might very well be lined up for a primetime viewing slot.
I would search "reddit wrestling streams" if one were so inclined, or just sign up for NJPW for 8.99$ for the month.
If they're gonna have people who aren't much cop on the roster (and they are, because they don't have enough people) at least Strowman offers something other than bog standard wrestling with the odd suicide dive in. I didn't mind the last man standing match even if it was mostly Zayn doing the work and trying his damndest to make Strowman look like a million dollars.
I laughed too much at Jericho tonight. "And then you're gonna put me in that cage and LOCK ME IN, MAAAAAAAAAAAN." What a guy.
He's apparently very likeable and funny in interviews and podcasts and stuff.
It's a shame he hasn't found the right woman yet
https://out.reddit.com/t3_5lr35x?url...ame=reddit.com
New Japan is much much better than the WWE at the moment. I've been watching it since Kenny Omega won the G1 which started long binges of previous matches.
My problem with Strowman is he's built as a monster heel but most of the moves he did in the Last Man Standing match didn't look like they'd hurt at all. He literally rolled Zayn onto the top of some crates and Cole acted like he'd caved his head in with an axe. He just seems so limited. I'm sure they could find many people to play the role better.
I would agree that until the slams near the end there wasn't much that should have had Zayn looking as fucked as he did. Strowman actually looked nastier in their previous match.
But then Zayn normally sells like he's on his last legs after the first bump of most matches so that's no huge surprise either.
Apparently wanting to watch wrestling instead of spending time with HER is childish... Dammit now I have to wait for a replay.
If Baron Corbin had a bit more beef about him he'd be the absolute best. Proper dickhead heel too, he's one of my fave five. Sop it up with a biscuit
Strowman just isn't credible in anyway at the top of the card.
He's meant to be one of the tips for the Rumble which would continue the run of the winner being universally approved. I'd rather they hold off and let him build up a bit more naturally, give him the win in the Andre battle royal and go from there.
Jericho should win the rumble and then Owens should try and convince him to go to Smackdown. I figured that was a pretty "out there" pick when everyone I spoke to was picking Goldberg, Lesnar or Balor but seemingly Jericho is right up there with the bookies.
He's supposed to be off on tour with his band this year.
I woke up for work right when the main event for WK went off.
Best match I've seen in ages.
God I'm bored of Ambrose.
If he even had one move that looked like he was trying these days it might help.
I do like Baron Corbin though.
Who else was it that said Dea Nambrose was crap years ago? The default assumption is Browning, so until somebody comes forward we're dons.
Only seen a few highlights so far but it looks like New Japan has already put on the show of the year.
Isn't Don Cena turning heel against 'Taker this year to retain his belt?
Tangle coming back would be immense, I'd watch again.
Nakamura will definitely be at the top of the card somewhere. Hopefully in the IC match.
Edit: definitely as in my fantasy booking.
Samoa Joe surely a lock for the NXT spot in the Rumble?
You would have to think with him ending up on Smackdown.
Hopefully Bobby Roode wins the title at the next Takeover.
...or the Andre Battle Royale.
Both would make sense.
They need to get Tonga Jeff in pronto.
I didn't like him much when I first started watching again but wouldn't have been very vocal about it. I think started to like him a bit during some of the Rollins stuff and roughly between November '15 to Wrestlemania until Brock lolled him out of the building. Then I started to get bored of him and his rubbish moveset and crap face again.
It was probably me. :D
I found it funny that What Culture had him in I think 4 of their Top 10 "Worst PPV matches of 2016". He really is over rated.
Originally I thought Roman Reigns would get a mega push, Nambrose would be in that Dolph Ziggler sort of spot, and that Seth Rollin[g]s would be stuck feuding with Big Show and Kofi Kingston for the rest of time. Two out of three, then; but we donned it with Bray Wyatt, and I'm well on my way to Sami Zayn doing nothing.
There are still so many people in denial about Bray Wyatt. They were wanking over him when literally all he had done was sit in a rocking chair, and they still won't admit he's awful.

Really solid match by Cody at WK.
Naito v Tanahashi is quality https://youtu.be/c2Zs7tn7F3Q
https://youtu.be/WYOei6u_q4Q
Go to 40 minutes for Okada v Kenny Omega
Thanks for the links. I might give them a watch tonight as I heard Omega put on a great show.
My mate agreed with the Tanahashi/Okada hype (I've still yet to watch that match) but said that Okada/Omega is even better.
I have All Star Weekend on loan from him too which has a couple of Omega matches, so I really need to get on it.
https://youtu.be/VlNXKs-D_xc
Wrestle Kingdom 11
I think I'll watch Okada/Tanahashi tonight.
This afternoon I have already watched some PWG and I can't decide if I hate the Young Bucks or not.
NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II next as I've been meaning to watch it since the initial good reviews.
He's going to be in the Rumble itself isn't he? Seems a bit of an odd choice as if he wins it then he gets a title match, which he can't sensibly win.
Stephanie is absolute AIDs. "Everything you've done will be meainingless if you don't get a wrestler who isn't on our brand to appear!"
Bit wank again in general but at least it wasn't another one of the ones they love on Raw just now where the card is basically the exact same as the previous week but with some slightly different talky bits.
Hopefully Jericho does some good stuff with the US title after weeks of Reigns barely seeming to remember he's meant to be proud to have it.
Might watch the rumble with some mates. The surprise entrants are the best part of the wrestling calendar, especially the ones who were never stars in the first place cus they're especially unexpected. Hoping for D-Lo.
I've been trying to decide whether I'll bother staying up for it if I move to these shifts that'd let me take the Monday off. There are enough good options for a winner that it feels inevitable WWE will pick a shitter.
Also, the Straw Boatman / Rollins match on Raw was, very broadly speaking, how I'd have booked Lesnar/Rollins in 2015(?)
Full wrestle kingdom
https://youtu.be/diYvtX7Ix5o
Watch the last two matches because they are both amazing.
Start at 3 hours and 55 minutes.
Has there ever been a better debut than Jericho?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGsBRImD0po
This promo was prophetic. It describes modern day WWE perfectly.
Bischoff turning up Raw was pretty ace just because it seemed to catch absolutely everyone out. Can't remember too many times that's happened.
The Dudley Boyz returning in 2015 came out of absolutely nowhere, as did Sting returning on the same show.
I might (definitely) be biased because I was there, but I reckon that's the best Raw of the last 5 years or so.
They blew the Eric Bischoff thing with the Booker T meeting. Had Vince McMahon just introduced him at the end it would have been incredible.
The problem with half the debuts/returns is that so many people know in advance. Of course with the WCW lot the way they were introduced was generally the least of the problem.
Shane's return was quite good, even if everything other than him toppling off the cell has been utter shit.
Did enjoy the Dudleyz returning too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SAQo3YflZh4
Right at the start of their mega-reign as well.
The utter nadir of ruined returns was when the entire crowd was chanting for Lesnar, so much so that Big Match John had to reference it in his promo before the 'surprise' return of Bork.
The best ruined return was when Bret Hart came back to host Raw. Even if it was billed in advance, there was a mega pop to be had with his music kicking the programme off, but they had that idiot announcer welcome him.
That reminds of when Shawn Michaels played his music during a promo just to mess with the crowd. Suckers bought it too.
Nuclear heat. HBK really was an amazing heel.
My friend had the great idea (after the event the useless cunt) that they should have done that with Daniel Bryan's music in that Royal Rumble Batista won, but then have Bad News Barrett come out and lol at everyone. There must have been about a million great opportunities to do it with the CM Punk music recently as well.
JBL proclaiming they had a WCW tile reign kinda ruins the moment for the Dudleyz.
Watched the last one. Holy shit! Absolutely awesome.
This was astonishing:
:hail:
Commentary was absolutely diabolical though.
Not as diabolical as this video of Perry Saturn though, jeez: https://www.facebook.com/perrysaturn...5305306918391/
How is his neck still... his neck?
The Dragon suplex off the top was the most outrageous spot.
Damn, Perry. Damn. :(
I thought he was past all that and doing better now. Somehow had a series of events before where he got shot stopping a woman from being raped to being a homeless meth addict.
Are the rest of the Radicalz Malenko's picture of Dorian Gray? Is he living in a beach mansion somewhere looking younger by the day?
Perry's the only one still alive. :(
Exactly. Christ knows what happens if he goes. Did Malenko ever dance with Too Cool?
UK tournament coverage just starting.
I think I quite like that belt.
I'd be surprised if that interviewer girl understood half of what "Tyson T-Bone" just said to her there.
It's not the Blue Peter Pin, Cole, you dickhead.
Jimmy Snuka has died
That's one way to get out of a murder trial.
The CWC match quality was generally better than the UK tournament but the booking of this as a coherent thing, because it was over two nights, was stronger.
And the second night of matches was a big improvement. A few really enjoyable matches tonight.
The fucking height of Bate even next to Balor, a midget by WWE standards, is hilarious though.
Finn Balor really shouldn't be allowed to cut a promo.
Looks like a tall midget :D Local lad though, few of my mates know him.
Anyway, nice to see him doing well after Hale and Pace
http://www.pamandkateslist.8k.com/im...aleandpace.jpg
Kurt Angle in the HOF
*milf gif*
No. 30 in the Rumble, come on.
Kur Tangle.
I'd love him to have one more run.
I'll still maintain them not figuring out a way to get him back to stop Rusev at the peak of his powers was the worst thing they've done in the past 5 years.
In other news, What Culture had another Ospreay / Ricochet match earlier. Pretty good, definitely worth a watch.
I've still never seen the original one.
