Fingers crossed you still get that big death then.

We were told today that "...the health of our colleagues is our foremost concern" and to watch out for symptoms, etc.
Then, in a separate communication, "...symptoms don't mean you have the virus, so keep a cool head and have a think before you send anyone home..."
I don't wanna laugh but fuckin hell Mags
My back and lungs are achy too. This is like the onset of pneumonia. RIP, lads.
If this ends up being a storm in a teacup I do fear for Yev's broom.
Germany's approach:
639 new cases. They haven't said anything about infecting with intent but it seems we're following their lead.Quote:
Germany did not set up border limitations or common health status checks at airports so far. Instead - while in the containment stage - health authorities are focusing on identifying contact persons which are set to personal quarantine and are monitored and tested. Personal quarantine is overseen by the local health agencies. By doing so, authorities try to keep infection chains short leading to curtailed clusters. In protection stage the strategy will change to protect vulnerable persons from getting infected by direct measures. The mitigation stage will eventually try to avoid spikes of intensive treatments in order to upkeep the medical services.
Lads, calm down. We need to infect you so that you can infect others to save lives.

TTH sparring will be our only form of sport for the next month or more, so revel in this lads.
You couldn’t spar with Bam as you couldn’t exaggerate the thickness levels. I don’t think people come any dumber.
Who will be the first evictory casualty of this pandemic?
If the world goes into lockdown we might finally get a worthwhile WDYTOE.
Bet Kiko will still find some excuse to not get past M, though.

I feel like we need a big megapost of patient accounts.
We've banned parents from attending any events in school for the foreseeable future, so prayers, masses, assemblies, our Easter Liturgy and our cafod 'mad' sales are all kids and staff only. Parents Evening is cancelled. From a selfish perspective, this is all a bit of a bastard with SATs approaching.
Plus the hand washing thing, of course.
Can somebody who knows more about all this do a Coronavirus prediction thread, like the one we do before the football season? Stuff like will the tube get shut down (and when), will Glastonbury go ahead, will the Premier League be called off etc.
I could probably do that, but we need the discussion in one thread, I'm buggered if I'm jumping between two.
So, which share dealing platform should I be on?
Hargreaves Lansdown or IG?
I’m planning on buying some shares of a company or two and just holding them for a few months or year. Not really planning on trading, ISAs or trading. Just owning and holding a couple of big companies shares whilst this virus plays out.
The most at risk at our place have mostly all retired. All except the oldest member of staff. Celebrating 50 years with a Caribbean Cruise. :uhoh:
Apart from this showing the need for stricter regulations on travel, when this is all over there seriously needs to be tighter reins put on the internet.

This explains herd immunity a bit more for the layman. Sorry if it's been posted.
I have grave news.
I haven't bothered stockpiling anything yet as unless I catch it (still unlikely at this stage, perhaps very unlikely) there's no point until we're closer to the peak/to the point where it's likely I get it.
But but but, I'm down to my last 2 toilet rolls and my local supermarket hasn't had any for days now. I need to brave a big Tesco or Sainsbury's and I'm going later tonight. Rationale being I'm aiming to hit it when the 16 year olds earning their fun tokens on the twilight shift have either restocked or are in the process of doing so.
It'll be a bit later, but I will report my findings.
I will report back my findings.
I'll send you some if you fail in your mission.
Can't you do delivery?
Or use a bidet like civilized countries.
Even Amazon are out of stock of a lot of toilet roll options.
Outstanding.
You're probably more likely to find some in a petrol station or corner shop. People seem to have mostly gone straight to the big stores to stockpile.
The places to find the sought after items are the places where every bugger isn't going. Smaller and less of a brand name it is, the better.
It was nothing but 18 packs as far as the eye could see in the bog roll aisle here today.
Pasta was totally out though.
Going to the supermarket now feels a bit like that stockmarket drinking thing pubs used to do (still do?) which saw the likes of Mellin shorting the Cinzano all night until in a state of complete and utter stupor.
I got some from an off-license, a few days ago.
The bloke hadn't even jacked the price up. What a hero.

I have to say I am grateful for two things at the moment which are that I live: a) alone, and b) in an area with an abundance of supply points. I wouldn't fancy being in Boydy's gaff, or Dundee, or any other relative outpost.
A rare win for County Durham. Although the Chinese masks were out in force today.
