Well then, first beer of the day is 10.5% "Bearded Lady" by Magic Rock. Bourbon barrel aged imperial stout with all sorts of fucking goodness going on.
This is how you do a nerd hipsterwank beer, Phonics.

Macallan Gold.
Really nice, not too strong. Probably not one for hardened whisky wanks.
On the Opihr now, guy left the seeds in the chili, really nice.
This Big Peat is, as the name suggests, pretty hefty.
I've been unable to do most of mine. Just poured out half a bottle of Guinness Antwerpen as I just don't have the room for it.
It’s been my first completely sober Christmas in god knows how long.

On this at the moment and it's divine. Best beer I've tried in a while. Would rather hope so at tenner a bottle. :cab:
To Ol Blackball Porter. Oh my. Oh yes.
I’m drinking Gin like a fancy lad.
I'd a couple of Guinness Antwerpen earlier but they were at room temperature and were vile because of it.
Do you get O'Hara's over there @Ian? They're probably our original of the 'craft' breweries but they've gotten big enough that you'd see their stuff on draught about the city and all. Their Leann Follaín stout is very good stuff.
Yellow Tail red and white.
Hendricks/rose lemonade and cucumber.
Dark Matter/Jamaican fiery ginger beer and lime.
Yeah it definitely doesn't taste the 6 or so % that it is. You'd only ever see their regular stout (black label bottle) on draught but it's still way nicer than Guinness.
I didn't know there was definitely going to be one in Glasgow but I knew they were doing it.
Drygate do the same thing and a guy at work went with some of his brew-nerd mates and made something that got sold in shops.
I got massively into golden ale recently.
Can anyone recommend any? Or any other types of ales that are similar?
Only one I've ever tried was Guinness Golden Ale and it was quite nice.
having some more of our home brew. Really isn't too shabby given the quantity I've got for what we spent.
There'll undoubtedly be a load in whatever your biggest local supermarket(s) is/are. It's hard to recommend without knowing what breweries you get but I'd be surprised if there aren't at least a few golden ones for you to have a crack at.
I am loving Arbikie's stuff.
Tempted to grab some whiskey tomorrow for New Years'. Might give something other than Aberlour a shot.
Two pints of Cobra; lovely stuff.
Glad I went for that rather than bottles of Goose Island with my curry.
I'm back on the Glendalough as it was near gone so might as well finish it.
Working my way through the craft beers I got at Christmas. Forty Niner is great, Hobgoblin is also great. Worcester Sorcerer is like a mouthful of raw, fresh out of the dirt potatoes. Shouldn't have left it til last. :moop:
Went around a spot today called that's doing the whole show from growing right up to bottling. The stuff tastes lovely and I got a few bottles, and the smell of the hops about the place was class.
Also got given this White Hag with some other stuff by the guy as they have a shop down there as well and I have no idea what it even is.

I'm starting to get into sours but they are probably the most consistently poncey-sounding of all the nerdbeer.
Is it beer? I'm half expecting something halfway between something Magic would drink and a Fruit Shoot.
Yeah, it's beer. I've not had that one in particular but they're very sharp and tangy of whatever fruit they've gone for. I couldn't be doing with them when I first tried them.
As I said, I'm getting into them now. I think the first one I tried was very sour which put me off, like how the first proper stout I ever tried seemed to taste like it'd been brewed inside a tyre even though I'd probably think it was at least alright these days. Nowt wrong with a fruity beer.
Onto a Swannay imperial stout now. It's pretty swish.
I'm on a 12 Acres Rye IPA. Would be interested in getting some more of their stuff, it's very nice.
Good concoction this evening. Couple of Leann Folláin, couple of Narwhal, four Foxes Rock IPA, and a couple of Blacks High Viz. Out of beer now so it's sleep or gin.
I had something called Pickled Santa tonight. Still scraping the remains of it off my larynx.
Kingpin Brewdog is very nice.
None. But the Lone Wolf gin is outstanding.
No gin is outstanding.
Cunt.
Mwah.
Well like it's fucked into a load of tonic. Maybe some are less harsh than others but outstanding is just wankerish.
Are you sipping it raw?
Polished off almost all of what's left of my homebrew.
Y'alright there, chief?
Anything deeper than a piss yellow can GET IN THE SEA.

Yeah but how much do you get?!?!?!?!
I've never used BeerHawk. They good?
Not that I can afford nice things until payday.
