Having just got to the highlights, definitely feels like Kelleher should have stopped at least two of their goals, maybe even three.
Another example of the Trent role giving and taking away too.

Yeah with Alison in net it could have easily been 4-0.
End of this playoff final is getting good.
Keeper has to do better. Criminal.
Just seen 120+3. Must have been phenomenal scenes.
Barnsley probably deserved the chance to take it to pens, but they didn't really have a sniff once extra time started. Keeper should probably have pushed it passed the post.
Keeper should have done better but let's also not forget that the guy was wide open for his whole run, no attempt to close him down whatsoever.
Keeps also kept them in it to that point so not really his fault.
just me, or are this year's goal of the season candidates a bit shit?
After a few more years of analytics, the goal of the season candidates will all be 18 yard driven home shots from cutbacks.
Enciso's goal was a worthy winner in any year. Absolute belter.
It would have been great if Jacob Murphy won it for tapping in after Isak's magical work.
Quiet day at the office so I've been catching up on the ongoing Under 20 World Cup. Some takeaways:
- Former Spurs and Blackburn backup goalkeeper Bobby Mimms is the manager of Fiji under-20s. What?
- The England squad is pretty shit. The main selection criteria seems to have been picking people with the same names as more famous players - we have aftermarket versions of both Xavi Simons and Aaron Ramsey. Chelsea and City dominate but Alex Scott from Bristol City is the standout talent.
- Despite this, we're through to the knockout stages with wins over Uruguay (3-2) and Tunisia (1-0), and a goalless draw with Iraq. England play Italy in their last 16 match tonight, with the winner progressing to face one of Colombia or Slovakia.
- No such luck for France, who (à propos of nothing) named just three non-black players in their squad, two of whom are the number 2 and 3 goalkeepers. They crashed out in the group stage after losing to South Korea and Gambia.
- A sign of the times is that the Brazil squad features players from Watford and Norwich. They went through from a strong group along with Italy and Nigeria.
- The elephant in the room is Israel, who seem to have a bit of a golden generation going and saw off Japan and Senegal in the group before defeating Uzbekistan to reach the quarter-finals. Their opponents in that game will be either Brazil or Tunisia. If the latter win, it could be a real shitstorm - there are no diplomatic relations between the two countries.
- Argentina, the hosts, have been led so far by the three goals of Alejo Veliz, but their backup centre forward is someone with the glorious name of Ignacio Maestro Puch. I really hope he makes it.
- USA have won all four matches so far and yet to concede a goal. Beware the bros.
Where can one watch this?
The home of all such things, Eurosport.
England should be bolstered by the late arrival of Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Callum Doyle, fresh fromtheir resounding success on Saturdaya first class flight over
The preview for the England game later on the fifa website is a laugh. Highlights are a missed chance and a missed penalty. Alex Scott is going to be amazing, hopefully someone like Brighton can pick him up. Villa were interested a few years ago when they played Bristol pre-season and had just sold Grealish but don't know if they still have the same DoF etc now.
That yank youth coming through with Balogun up front is worth looking at the markets for them doing well in their WC.
Not that U21 football is particularly credible but anything below it is truly worthless and has strangely little connection with the senior game.
I'm properly invested in Mourinho winning this euro final. Mon Jose. Sevilla basically unbeatable in the comp though so it will be hard.
Bad news Ian; Southend United have just managed to avoid being kicked out of the league by getting a court order and paying the players. Also, in news that is almost certainly bollocks, we are being bought by The Rock. #ThePeoplesClub #TheMostElectrifyingClubInSportsEntertainment
You have 4 and a half hours to draft the June thread. Let's go.
I'd love a 1-0 Mourinho grind fest with some top Spanish SEETHE.
Decent tier Italian outfit v decent tier Spanish outfit, each with a shit ton of wank tattoos and 'fiery' South Americans thrown in, with a bald English referee, and Jose Mourinho and some 60+ grizzled fuck on the touchline. All the elements are in place for a true seethe festival.
That looked like a foul in the build up. Great counter nevertheless.
Edit: Nah, no foul.
José
English refs are such bad appointments for these games. We (English people) are just baffled by the emotional overflow.
This is all bubbling along nicely.
That's such a bad dive. :D
Taylor's actually got every call right IMO (thus far), but still the game is out of control. Pretty difficult for any ref with the calibre of vermin on this pitch, but a greasy-haired shoutbox would be better placed.
Dybala looks a decent player.
I was driving for the first half. What a second half/final 15 mins we have in store
Popcorn time.
Should be mass reds for the Roma backroom staff under letter of law. Only the interests of keeping the peace preventing that.
How is that ever not a pen?
Commentators are thick as pig shit. He got the ball you mongs. Good VAR intervention.
Roma just horrible people from 1 to 11, though. Well, 1 to 8 and 10 to 11. With you Tammy.
Because a tiny bit of contact shouldn’t automatically warrant a penalty. Should be a yellow for throwing himself down like a knob.
He pokes the ball away and the Sevilla lad participates in the long jump to try and sell it.
Anthony Taylor is doing well. Far too lenient with the Roma bullshit mind you.
Roma will go down swinging with about five red cards if Sevilla nick a late one.
Really enjoying this and I'd love to see England play in the same manner instead of the turgid passionless shite we serve up.
How come the Europa League final is before the Conference League one? You'd think they would go from lowest to highest.
Is Chukwumeka any good or has he just dominated age group football because he's an absolute unit?
