The national picture will distort things. In somewhere like Hull it will have gone from even lower to even higher, and London, where all the coverage comes from, the numbers will be tragic.
Because all the houses in London are built to be owned by dodgy money.
I managed to save about £5,000 in 9 months working in a fairly basic admin job in...2015, I think. Then I moved to Edinburgh, went mental, and came home in 2016 with £4,000 of credit card debt. This is pre-coke as well. If I'd not done the latter and just kept doing that data entry thing I could easily have been in my own 2 bed flat or something by now, but I would have probably ended up fucking my life up one way or the other anyway so it isn't worth dwelling on too much.
I do wonder if renting should be as taboo as it often is. Or rather, if owning should be seen as the big "completed it m8". Obviously Landlords can be cunts, but there are alot of benefits to renting too.
Starting with... well... the benefits. If you lose your job, the government will cover your rent for you. If you have a mortgage, it's up to the Big Bad Bankers, who may or may not give you a mortgage holiday.
If you spring a leak or the boiler goes pop, the landlord has to get their wallet out, rather than you having to have a tearful conversation with the Insurance companies that never pay out for anything.
Yeah, having that kind of cover in an emergency is great. I've yet to have a bad landlord. Having a place truly my own would be great but buying comes with it's own risks. You could inherit a shithole or, ten years down the line a council's modernisation plan could result in your home being demolished. The only obligation you have as a tenant is to keep the place clean.
You get rent covered? They must spend some millions on that.
I do love the idea of just being able to ring if something breaks, though covid was a great excuse for doing fuck all there for a good while.
Housing Benefit yeah. It's capped at a certain amount, so it won't necessarily cover it in full, but it will cover a decent chunk.
Well on the one hand there's that, on the other there's when your landlord should just properly fix something and they do the bare, cheap minimum so they don't. My boiler's been due a replacement for at least three years, they send a fella out to fix it, he says "Yeah this really needs replacing, I'll stick that in my report", they presumably go "lol nah" and then it breaks again in about four months.
EDIT: Out the way Spikey.
I had the very same one for years with the gas burner. The last time some plumber came out and said it was unsafe and badly needed replacing. Heard nothing for about a week before some handyman sort of lad was sent out to replace something and get it going. Id say they still haven’t done it.
An old lady asked me to get my cock out whilst I sat outside a cafe on Portobello Road this week. That was a strange conversation.
Yeah whatever, Igor.
She said "get that cock out". Subtle difference.
Did you get it out?
Your mother in law is getting out of hand.
It's not that strange if it's a porn shoot.
XR blocked some of the exists off the freeway and a bridge in the Brisbane CBD this morning during peak hour.
These Melbourne fellas are going to be in the AFP database for the rest of their lives now. lol

Burning things unnecessarily is a great way to stop climate change. Well in mates.
The Brisbane mongs are always gluing themselves to the road. :cab:
I saw this article randomly today. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-59118683

I haven't watched any TV Talent Show since about 2011. But how long has Simon Cowell looked like a shaved Simon Weston?
There's something weird about the photo of Barlow I can't put my finger on as well.
Barlow looks like he's had a stroke.
I never understood why Louis Walsh, who has forgotten more about managing successful acts than Simon Cowell will ever know, was always treated as the lol opinion compared to Cowell the expert. It's been one long twenty year burial, and the silly Irish cunt has gone along with it every step of the way.
Because he has a funny face and talks all potatoes.
And is probably quite happy to be paid lots of money for making some meaningless telly.
Louis looked like the sort of cuck that doesn't just invite them round but asks to eat the creampie after too. Of course he's not going to fucking be taken seriously for the serious business of serious pop.
On that note, this was a nice read:

“This time last year people couldn’t afford to feed their kids and now social media is full of receipts for how much they’ve spent at a restaurant,” said Stirk. “It just feels wrong. It doesn’t sit right with me."

Classic gammon behaviour that, always having to thinly veil their true intent.
:D
I have two principle issues with Salt Bae, as follows:
- The grauniad style guide second-mentioning him as 'Bae', as if it's his surname.
- I have developed a concern, looking at several photos, that he may be awfully short.
He's a twat, but the mongs attending his restaurant and spunking £22 on a Vodka Redbull and £600 on a bit of cow so they can post it on Instagram are far worse.
Fair play Mr Bae, even if you are a manlet.
I'm not touching white meat that rare.Quote:
In September 2018, a famous Czech internet personality Týnuš Třešničková became a victim of a failed fire show in the Nusr-Et steakhouse in Istanbul, resulting in 35% TBSA burns. Several other guests also faced less serious body burns.
The pictures of the food that I've seen don't even look all that appealing.

There's a person called Salt Bae?
He's called something Turkish, he uses Salt Bae as his pseudonym while dropping rock salt onto beef and charging mugs £850 for it.
I say mugs, but are they mugs? They have £850 to spend on a plate of beef, while I have instant coffee and make my own salad dressing.
Good on Mr Bae. He sounds like he has a great life. Apparently he barely works in any of the restaurants, and the corporate child molesters who own him just fly him into wherever the big celebrity is going to be that night for the photo (or where all the seething about bills will be, so London at the minute).
The different State day light savings times down here is always a shambles.
We are an hour behind Tasmania, the ACT, Victoria and NSW, half an hour behind South Australia, half an hour in front of the Northern Territory.
WA is 2 hours behind us but they are a million miles away

I've been to the Nusr-Et in New York (not on my dime). The steak was...fine? Well seasoned (as you might expect), decently tender, underwhelming flavour - nowhere near the best I've had. I'd have certainly felt like a mug if I was on the receiving end of the bill given the absurd pricing.
Mr. Bae was not in attendance, but at one point nearly the entire restaurant erupted in some sort of spontaneous dance when they turned up the music. Kind of like a shit flashmob, with bimbos waving table napkins. I assume this is done once per seating. I continued to eat my steak.
I haven't heard 'bimbo' for a while. Very refreshing flashback to 1990s red tops.

Surprised by Baz not being aware of Salt Bae.
It's the purchasing of sex offender NFTs that does it.

Knew the owner was a don when I met him a few weeks ago. Seething I wasn't there but I'll be going round on Saturday to praise and support it.
Im definitely old and behind the times but how is she considered a person of colour?
