I don't even know why we're pretending. Ukraine have wanted into Nato since 2008 and we've left them hanging. Presumably because we value them as a buffer state like the EU do with Turkey and the Middle East, so we can't get all snooty when the inevitable happens off the back of that policy. Sanctions are the worst of all worlds. It does fuck all to help Ukraine but invites pain on the rest of us.Quote:
