That's quite common isn't it? I had Ryan and Button until I realised Button had gone to West Brom.

Adams has been in most of my drafts, but I've currently swapped him for a punt on Nketiah. Surely gets a goal somewhere across those first two fixtures. Martinez is the other one. Does he start the season?
McCarthy/Steer
Robertson, Egan, Vinagre, Johnson, Walker-Peters
Mane, Aubameyang, Gordon, Bergwijn, Saint-Maximin
Calvert-Lewin, Ings, Werner
Will have to bring Rashford or KDB in soon though
The things I'd do for a 4.0 midfielder...
Edit: Fucking hell, another 2 man upheaval in order to fit a third. I've also joined Jimmy's star man bandwagon (although I expect it may take him a week or two to get motoring).
Two points I feel could be the making or breaking of me:
- I'm avoiding Mitro and Vinagre hoping for slow starts and price deflations. The former's team is dogshit and the latter's team will struggle and I'm not even sure if he'll be guaranteed a start.
- The Nathan Ferguson conundrum. If I wasn't Jewing my transfers I'd start with Johnson but I feel tempted to back what will inevitably be the fantasy star of this season.
OK, cards on the table
Ramsdale, Nyland
Alexander-Arnold, Digne, Tierney, Creswell, Thomas
Dendoncker, Aubameyang, Havertz, Ward-Prowse, Fernandes
Antonio, Werner, Davis
Havertz at 8.5 and Thomas 4.5 are the value players there. The former, and I haven't been Bielsa-ing Cobham but it makes total sense, will surely take our penalties, as well as everything else. With Thomas, unless I'm missing something - and I could well be - with Chilwell gone and Fuchs injured for a time, he'll surely be Leicester's starting left back.
Timothy Castagne can play left back.
Although I hope you're right because I really rate Luke Thomas.
It wasn't Batman? Get the fuck out of here.
Nobody knows. That's why FPL is so stressful (and also why James Justin is so highly owned.)
If KDB goes up in price before GW2 kicks off my plans are in ruins. He won't, will he? Surely everyone will hold off until GW3.
Does Werner not take penalties? I had in my mind that he'd probably be taking them, no idea why. Also, is Havertz going to start in week 1? I tend to think Mount, Ziyech and one other (Pulisic if fit) would be more likely to start behind Werner - due to having had more time on the training ground etc.
I'm all about Doucouré at the moment, as part of a BLM engine room alongside Bissouma and 'Naby Lad'. :cab:
The game is crying out for a £4m midfielder. I've also been slightly tempted to implement the 'keeper strategy (having the starter and the back-up) for Liverpool rightbacks, as superstition has always held me back from fully committing to any of their attacking players (somewhat catastrophically) - £4m for Williams and if he doesn't play oh well, it's £0.5m in the bank (I'm very fearful TAA won't start against Leeds due to his lack of pre-season).
He wasn't for Leipzig according to my detailed, three minute research, whereas Kai was doing so for Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Havertz is more of an investment because I think he should be 10+ and is 8.5, and I tend to be a late wildcard user.
I mean I'd have Nico, Curtis, Rhian and Kelly Dalglish's ovaries in my squad if I could but what the fuck sort of shit are you up to Niko if you don't have 3 Liverpool players already (and Naby is one of the ones you do)?
I had Robbo and TAA (and Keita). Robbo went under the bus to free up midfield funds, hence the Wiliiams gambit.
I also have a build with TAA, Salah and Mané.
I find it impossible to be objective and so don't really like puting all my eggs in the Liverpool basket really for fear of double disappointment. Obviously this has been a very bad strategy for the past 3 seasons or so.
I've just done another squad with KDB, Fernandes, Aubameyang, Havertz, Werner, TAA and a lot of assorted discount [shite]. I quite like the team but I can't really work out how to get to it in GW 2/3 without wildcarding - only working strategy is to sub out Salah for Fernandes in Wk1, then Mané for De Bruyne in week 2, but those two being more expensive means the rest of the team is impossible to get right in the first instance.
Aye, there's going to be a huge surge in ownership of him and Fernandes, isn't there, which is going to fuck everything up.
Do you really need KDB for an away trip to Wolves, the toughest fixture on the calendar?
No, but if he goes up in value because loads of people put him in then it becomes a pain in the arse to easily transfer him in with best laid plans and all that, no?
That said, he's already in 30% of teams for GW1 so I don't know how much scope there is for demand led price rises.
Sterling had a stellar game against Wolves last year so it is possible to score points against them.
I assume he’ll be playing instead of one of Thomas/James but I had no idea who so felt best to leave out.
That Johnson geezer got West Ham could be good value. Started last few games after lockdown and is only 4m regardless of whether or not Fredericks starts.
Yeah, Ferguson won't go down in value and he's nailed on starter. Mitchell is just a one week starter so no point.
I’m fully invested in a GW2 wildcard and have chosen my team accordingly.
Obafemi out, Batshuyai in. Someones got to score a goal for Palace eventually.
Last decision, Richarlison for Wilson or saving the 1.5 for De Bruyne in week 3.

I've decided I will wildcard after this week to bring in Manchester players.
Wilson and Perreira gone. Saint maximin and Calvert Lewin in which enables me to bring in De Britney when I want.
Aubameyang's in something like 50% of teams, and is clearly going to be massively captained today. Giving serious consideration to getting off that train for some sweet sweet points differential (admittedly probably in the wrong direction).
I saw some quotes about Doherty getting eased into things at Spurs so I've swapped him to Tierney who has a nice run to start.
Think I'm done now
McCarthy
TAA
Davies
KWP
Salah (C)
Aubameyang
Son
Maximim
Barnes
Werner
Adams
-----
Ryan
Justin
Mitchell
Davis
Had Havertz but then I had two 4.0 defenders which just wasn't gonna work out .
Already my defender isn't starting so I'm down to 10 players before the seasons kicked off.
edit: Mitrovic on the bench as well lol.
Hastily put together a team as 11am struck. It saved but it gave me Wilson as captain. 'mon the Toon.
Fuck Arteta.
Playing two inferior CBs over Saliba.

There's the week 1 team which has obviously already had a wobble thanks to Arteta.
3 willian assists yeah
I almost went for Gabriel and Saint-Maximin over Saliba and Ward Prowse :(
Tierney and Auba with some points in the first game.
Late disposal of Zaha aside, we're looking good.
Going for Mane over Salah :(
This strategy has not worked well thus far today.
Expect Saint-Maximin to score big next.
A fool for having 3 Southampton players, but Salah :hail:
60 points with 5 to play.
I needed that Leicester game.
51 with Havertz and possibly Buur to play.
Justin & Mitchell is like 15 points on the bench. Fuck could've been a great start.
Calvert-Lewin my only good pick. Everything else fucked me.
Thank god for Mo Salah, my last minute change of heart from Aubameyang. Absolute shit the rest of 'em [unless Matt Ryan scores a hattrick tomorrow night].
Made my sub already and let me tell you, it's as if I've had a serious brain injury on the surface but deep down, it's one of the greatest moves since we sold Coutinho and got in VVD and Alison.
