Inter want Lukaku on loan for two years for 10m euros, with a 60m euro obligation to buy at the end of that term.
Lol.
Take it.
Jorginho is basically a midget version of John Obi Mikel - tidy, unspectacular, and an easy target for fans to shout FORWAAAARD!!!! at when we are 1-0 down at home to Southampton because he doesn't have any visible urgency about him.
He came into the season post the League Cup final, as several of our players did. I slightly fear for him under Super Frankie Binman though, unless he manages to find a way of combining him and Kanté in a DOUBLE PIVOT.
It's not your money m8
Forty million and Francesco Toldo.
Fucking bastard clubs just deciding how big a bid needs to be before they want to accept it.
Won't somebody please think of the children?
£70million is decent, we won't get more than that. Who cares if we don't get the full amount for a few years.
Add the £10M saved on wages then it's not too bad a deal for all parties tbf. He started pretty young so I reckon he'll be done and dusted by time he's 30 anyway especially if he continues to lift weights as he seems to have done. Too big.
Obviously you sell the shit cunt.
Kovacic to Chelsea for £50M! Jesus.
If we somehow managed to swing this then it would probably outdo winning the league as far as wtf moments go.
https://icdn.caughtoffside.com/wp-co...pe-320x207.jpg
Followed players last week, plays as Liverpool in FIFA, likes Klopp, almost joined in 2017...it's a lock, right....?
Any itks online?
Chelsea are in a LOL sitatuion with the ban. You can hold them at ransom
He should get in Chelsea, from the locs alone
Sepp van den Berg signs. Yay. :|
How did Lukaku get so shit? He used to be good, right?
What's the deal with Chelsea then? Can they sign Kovacic because he was there on loan with a clause to buy before they were transfer banned? You'd think a transfer ban was bad enough, but if it also forces you to shell out £50m on him as well that feels like a double kick in the groin.
I have high hopes for this ginger Dutch kid I have only just heard of and seen for the first time. Him, that Hoever chap, all under Van Dijk's tutelage, sorted for years no doubt.
He looked decent from time to time for United. He was very much part of that revolutionary winning run they went on. He's just not that good or that bad, and is made to look shitter when everyone else around him is playing poorly as well. He'll to well in Italy forever. Can't United just do a swap deal with Icardi or something - or that Inter centre-half everyone is always being linked with? Skrinar?
Becuase of the clause, the ban does not apply becuase he was on loan.
All central defenders should be big ginger bastards.Quote:

Lukaku is a good goalscorer, but Ole wants to play a style of football that Lukaku just doesn't suit at all.
Whats the correct word for that. Binman?
He wants them to play fast, counter-attacking football, which doesn't really work if your main forward has the bulk and mobility of a dwarf planet.
There's no point engaging you on anything to do with Utd.
Fixed. :(
You know it's going to be another season of nothing though, right? And he'll be gone by New Year? It's far too big a job for him and he hasn't even replaced any of the outgoing lot yet, if indeed they go and if they don't then that's going to make things even worse.
Thou cannot wait.
Well, forward come winger. He should be in the thick of it. Hell, I'd rather have Wan Bissaka and Luke Shaw bombing down and getting some quality balls in, hell, if Wan Bissaka manages to beat the first man he's better than Ashley Young. United haven't had that in a long time, no proper wingers either in my mind.
We have no idea how good Ole is at United yet. These haven't been his players, but it looks like he's getting the guys he wants.
It may not happen in one season, but they've started on the right path. Avoiding the temptation of a 30 year old big name is the next step. They'll be challenging for 4th regardless though.
Chelsea have just had their best player pinched and are about to appoint their own Ole, potentially without the ability to buy anyone. Arsenal need to start learning to play away from home to have much say in the top 4.
No....far from it but obviously blinkered because I'm a Liverpool guy and not because he flunked in his last year at Molde, got Cardiff relegated, a job he himself said he wasn't ready for before returning to Norway, which wasn't as good as his financially backed first two seasons.
I ain't being a dick but if you're not ready to manage Cardiff then how on earth can you be ready to manage one of the biggest clubs around? Especially one that requires as much on/off the field work as United.
The only blinkers I see are 1990's United fans pining for the days of old and Solksjaers only link to that was sticking a bloody foot out.
Toggle Spoiler
Man United will finish 20+ points adrift again for sure and as I said, Ole will be dismissed before the end of the season.
No need to watch any matches now I know how it ends. Cheers.
Lampard should be nowhere near the Chelsea job either tbh. What 30 year old big names have Man United signed other than Sanchez which was to stop him going to City? Unless you're on about Ibra in which case he smashed the league until he was injured the sexy bastard.
Nearly £70M on two players who have played less games combined than Andreas Pereira has managed in his entire career. Bonkers.
Not rumours, knowledge.
Is there a special reason you're refusing to engage further on the statement I'm actually disagreeing with? I feel like it'd be easier if you either said you refuse to budge on the inference that only about 3 managers are capable of having a style or accept that it was bollocks and we all move on with our lives.
Save the how crap Ole is or is not for somebody who's disagreeing with you.
Did I not already answer? Only others in the Prem you could say is the Wolves boss and Garcia of Watford but that's grasping.
His small stint has been littered with him being shown up as tactically naive and clueless. You only need to look at the rabbit in headlights look against PSG to realise that but then it was probably that match that forced United's hand. In reality, you can forget about his good start because the more recent form is some of the worst form, stats, records in Man United's. 1 defeat in 16 was great but 7 defeats in 11 is unforgivable.
Obviously I'm bias but I said when Moyes was hired he'd flop, I said when LvG was hired he'd flop, Mourinho the same and now Solksjaer who's definitely the weakest of the quartet. Every one of them has actually made Man United worse than when they arrived. Solksjaer will be the one to drive the nail in the coffin.
You've been predicting United's imminent demise for as long as I've been posting here, so let's not pretend you've really predicted anything.
Your original post implied that a manager not being successful means he has not and cannot implement a style and that therefore all players are neither suited nor unsuited to a given team, which is bonkers.
And yet you seem to be interested only in repeating yourself on points that I haven't argued either for or against.
Not that I'm playing down your perceptiveness in thinking that David Moyes might not be Alex Ferguson, you understand.
Even a broken clock...
Nah. My initial post implied that Klopp, Poch and Pep are the only ones in the league who have brought a distinctive style that they have implemented and in quite a short time after joining the clubs too. Poch also did it at Southampton, Klopp did it at Dortmund and Pep did it at Barca/Bayern.
OGS has shown nothing other than a title in a meaningless country whilst leaving Cardiff in a worse position than he found them due to his inability to manage and now he's statistically one of the worst Manchester United managers, period. David Moyes actually had a better record and he got sacked!
Quite a long way of getting around to the original point which was only the three mentioned above have managed to incorporate a style. You could watch them in black and white and you'd know which team was which based on how they play. You wouldn't have a clue what a Solksjaer team played like and buying younger yet lesser players isn't going to change it.
He only has a worse record if you discount the games as a caretaker.
Also, any manager can implement a style you lunatic. It might not yield results, it might be crap but that isn't the point.
Why are people engaging with this crackhead? It's like having a row with your pet dog.
I'm working from home and extremely bored. This time he's at least answered the question with only half his post talking about stuff that's not relevant, which is an improvement. I think with an evening's work I can get him to only answer one question incorrectly.
There was nothing wrong with the comment suggesting OGS won't do jot nor suggesting that he has no set style to implement. Christ, you could tell in Klopps first game against Tottenham that things were going to be different. Solksjaer got the job based on his playing days, not his managerial record. Couldn't go for Neville, he showed his hand at Valencia. Couldn't go for Giggs, he had a stab at it and got discarded (the cunt shouldn't be the Wales manager either.) Mark Hughes and Steve Bruce would be a no go. Paul Ince or Roy Keane burned their bridges an age back.
I suppose Phil Neville will be the next in line.
Oh and by the way, my brother is at LEAST 17 times worse than Smiffy.
What's most hilarious is if United have a bad season, he'll probably bump this thread with a completely oblivious "told you so" post.
Unbolded bits: Still nothing to do with anything that anybody else is talking about and yet you can post nothing else about.
Bolded bit: So wrongheaded it's hard to believe that you can have watched a game and actually believe it, regardless of the results of said games.
I look forward to another thesis related to the unbolded bits.
Misread and thought randomlegend’s brother is Tony Mortimer.
Can someone summarise the walls of text from Smiff? Is it basically OGS is going to fail over 12000 words?
Lukaku could be a good striker if he was the right weight. He's in awful condition and he's not good enough to be a weighty back to goal striker as 1) he can't hold the ball up with his feet 2) he can't jump and win headers.
Wan-Bassaka is a good signing though. We've got a few decent young lads at the club now. So I look forward to seeing Young at right back.
As concisely as I can: only three managers in England have a defined style of play. This can be explained by a lengthy, unrelated diatribe about the hiring of OGB.
Klopp is the greatest manager to have ever walked our planet.
"Only" three, you say? I said only three, did I? I didn't include Nuno Santo nor Garcia? I didn't have to point out that I was referring to the Premier League too, did I? Because you took it as all managers in all the worlds.
As far as telling you so SvN, I didn't do that when LvG went, I didn't do that when Mourinho went (who I felt got a shit draw in the end) and I didn't do it when we won the Champions League, nor did the meltdown occur when we blew it. Twice.
Kiko - Wall of text basically said you could blur out the faces, have all players play in the same colours, no commentary and you'd have a very good idea whether you were watching a Klopp side or a Guardiola side because they have implemented said style at multiple clubs, same as Poch. Quite frankly I don't believe Solksjaer has the tactical nous nor wit in which to pull it off. If he did then he would have been linked to jobs based on his ability and not his connections. The reason no one was looking to swipe him from Molde is because he's a very average manager. His philosophy appears to be let's pretend it's 1999. You simply do not just waltz into a club the size of Man United and change it over night, Liverpool had the exact same problem which is why we knocked ourselves off our perch. United is just a mirror image of it.
HoullierBenitezKing KennyRodgersKlopp will definitely win the Premier League.
Longstaff to United sounding more and more likely. Rumoured £30m...for a player with 9 senior appearances. Yikes.
Also AWBs brother seems to have leaked a photo of his contract signing/presentation lol. CBA to link on phone.
Each has come closer than the other so it'll happen eventually. Probably a lot sooner than your next one anyway. I've actually been very reserved with our chances of success for nearly three years now which is funny because since I stopped hoping we started to become good.
We don't even need trophies given the enjoyment we get weekly.
You described those two as "grasping", which given you didn't even include Sarri I thought meant they could be disregarded.
That still leaves 15 Premier League teams "without a style of play." As de-escalations of absurd statements go this is the equivalent of "I'm not saying the moon is made of cheese. It could be any dairy product!"
Nah, you're definitely misinterpreting what I was trying to point out. If you hired Pep, Guardiola or Poch, you know what sort of football you're getting as they've been instilling that style at numerous clubs, OGS's seems more of an idea, of course he wants to be a good counter attacking side like United used to be under Ferguson but I don't see where he's shown at any point in his career thus far that he's been able to do that with any club, basically.. I don't know how else to explain how I mean it to come across so fuck it. x
Watched a lot of Molde to come to that conclusion, have you? I don't particularly rate OGS myself, but I struggle to believe you can't see he has tried to play a certain way since coming to Manchester United.
And this idea that no other Prem managers other than those 3 (or 5) have a definitive style/tactic is ridiculous. Even the relegated clubs all played in a particular manner that you could easily identify - Cardiff under Warnock, Fulham under Jokanovic (fleetingly) and Huddersfield under both Wagner and Siewert.
He's tried to play a certain way because that's what the supporters are demanding. He's done nothing but sing to their hymn sheet but whatever. It'll be another funny campaign of calamity for them.
I haven't watched a lot of Molde but if you do your homework you'll see many of their own felt the same, especially during his second spell. Warnock could be mistaken for Pulis, Jokanovic's wasn't fleeting, it was found out when the quality of attackers improved and Huddersfield under Wagner were just pretty and again, if he had conviction in his 'style' or whatever then he wouldn't have fucked it all up by changing it.
The Southampton manager seems to have more of a clue and again, he's done it at a previous club. OGS hasn't. He's making it up on the fly.
That's the last I'll say on it since you're all being pedantic and acting like nobs. Bandwagon jumpers.
So Warnock doesn't have a particular style as it is similar to Pulis? But Hasenhuttl does even though it is very similar to the German pressing tactic employed by Klopp, Nagelsmann and others? Jokanovic didn't have a very obvious attacking style throughout the 2 seasons Fulham made the playoffs and the early part of the Prem season? Wagner didn't have a possession-based style that he implemented throughout his time at Huddersfield?
You're doubling down on a frankly ridiculous point you made just to beat up OGS with. He might not be particularly good but dial it back a bit.
Private zookeeper in Portugal has leaked Bruno Fernandes to Utd on twitter.
'Alexis' money that. Little wanker.Quote:

Certainly gets leaked before tax is taken out. £500,000 a week is probably only £300,000 after tax, that's nearly £10M in the coffers. I find when footballers wages are taken into account that that part always gets forgotten. Very well paid but also pay more than your average Joe even if they lived ten lives.
Players deserve more money.
Actually Italy just passed a law where foreigners coming into football pay 50% less tax on their income hence why Juve are able to put these mental packages together.
Damn right. I don't know about you but I'm pretty fed up of the managers and higher ups having all the power.
That's the reason, supposedly, why Ronaldo went over there.
https://www.itv.com/news/2019-01-21/...tax-avoidance/
I actually forgot about all that. Some clubs also hire their players under a different term so it's not classed as corporate tax or whatever. Way too much for my noggin'.
:D And I just got to use 'shift, ctrl, T'.
:pards:
I know I've been away for a little while but Jesus....look at the mess of you lad. You try far too hard.
The only Mexican in history to do so.
:D
Zaha has confirmed he wants to leave Palace.
I have a feeling he'll only get a sideways move. The clubs he wants to play for wont pay the fee needed to get him.
How will sideways moves pay it?
Clubs don't tend to want as much when it's not one of the big boys. Cut price deal towards the end of the window I think.
I thought he wanted to move to a club in the Champions League? Chelsea won't happen due to transfer ban, Arsenal unlikely to afford, City and Liverpool don't need and I doubt he'd go back to Man United.
If he goes then they can join Brighton with the three promoted clubs as the seasons relegation candidates, I reckon.
He’s asked to leave because he wants to join Arsenal not because he wants to leave in general. Deal was done if they finished in the champions league but they fucked it so he’s going all out to try drop the price.
You'll have plenty of money for him when you sell Aubameyang to United.
Lack of an official announcement for AWB is weird. Something's a brewing.
Or probably not.
You know on a serious note, if they did go for him then it would be some great business for United especially if Lukaku went.
Sign AWB, pinch Aubameyang, Arsenal use that to get Zaha, United's % off that sale makes the AWB then look reasonable all the whilst weakening Palace and putting an end to Roy fucking Hodgson.
Martin O'Neill. Call it a day, fella.
Isn't "Auba" a pace merchant? Signing a 30 year old pace-reliant striker for big money seems mental to me.
EDIT: Probably sounds more disparaging than it's meant to, I definitely think he's a good player.
I thought he was about 24.
Cute.
I thought this too but pace is a much smaller part of him than I thought. He has excellent movement/space creation that gets him free from 6 yards out constantly. If his finishing wasn’t so erratic he’d have an extra 10 goals this season. Missed a sitter/open goal every other game and still got 30+.
The other one is better anyway.
BBC have Wan-Bisaaka as £50m (£45m+add-ons) done but not 'confirmed' but the best bit is a sell-on fee of 10% if United sell him for more than £50m. Erm, ok.
You have to admire the ambition.
Edit, no, best bit of the article is:
Not enough Marti Pellows for that.Quote:
United are paying £45m up front, making Wan-Bissaka the club's fifth-biggest signing, behind Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Angel di Maria and Fred.
Also, I was a bit non-plussed at the idea of Valencia buying Cillessen for what seemed to be a mad amount the other day, but I see Barcelona have reciprocated and bought some other no-mark off them for about the same. Swapsies.
Jesus, I've just seen that Cillessen is 30.
I thought he was about 21.
Neto is far superior from the little I've seen of both so Barcelona have done well.
I expected to see Anthony Martial on that list.
Hardly a punishment when they pretty offered it themselves. Great way to get out of Thursday night football.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48801681
Seems like they've just got away with it to me.
I don't understand why they get any say in it. The rules were clear for everyone.Quote:
It is understood this ruling was requested by Milan as part of their overall FFP settlement agreement with Uefa.
Last year, Milan were banned from the Europa League but then reinstated by Cas following an appeal.
This year, Milan agreed to take the ban as it was in the mutual interests of both the club and Uefa.
It is likely to earn Milan a more favourable ruling from Uefa in terms of their overall FFP predicament, as they face breaches in the 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
Can any fans of Irish football confirm that Izzy Akinade is indeed a rapist? He has just joined Ho Chi Minh City FC and apparently they didn't do any research on him.
@Giggles
Yep. See the shit leagues thread. He was part of a gang rape of a minor when he was also a minor.
http://www.courts.ie/Judgments.nsf/7...pkzddKbIHpzPaQ
Oh. I can see why he signed.
It was. It happened years ago but the case was re-examined lately and the deportation judgement passed.
I'd heard he'd landed in Asia and signed for someone as there were doubts he'd left Ireland (didn't show up for the official deportation), but I didn't realise it was Vietnam.
He's fairly talented, but that's where the good points end.
Is John Arne from Vietnam or is he another one on the TTH Yewtree list?
He was always fairly unrepentant too.
Oh dear.
That alleged Lukaku deal for Man utd is awful. £9m for a two year loan to Inter with an option to buy for £60m. Inter could still turn around at the end of the two years and tell them to fuck off. For that type of player, Inter should be paying at least half the agreed transfer fee for two years. At the end of the two year loan, he will have one year left on his Man Utd deal. Sounds like an bad deal.
Money is irrelevant to United. I'd imagine they're largely immune to FFP
Not having Lukaku in the squad/on the wage bill, if it allows recruitment of a better replacement, is hugely beneficial, regardless of the cost. Same for Sanchez, they should just pay him to fuck off to China and move on.
Whisper it quietly but a winning goal the other night, winning penalty last night. He looked up for it.
If money is irrelevant. It makes no difference to the Utd policy if Lukaku or Sanchez stay.
I'd bin Lukaku if I thought we would replace him. He's clearly not good enough due to his condition and his touch so £70m is pretty decent money.
The internet tells me he's 94kg. Surely not?
14 1/2 stone isn't too bad given it's mainly muscle. It's not like he's fat. He's just too big and it's played against him.
He should be whatever weight he was at Everton initially.
http://www2.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/R...0sLBJGcbCl.jpg
He says his ideal weight is 100kg in this article- https://www.menshealth.com/uk/fitnes...-at-the-euros/
That's quite surprising that but then he was a 20 year old kid back then. It's mad to think he's already been in the game for a decade.
I've just found out that Angel Gomes is Nani's cousin as well as his Godson.
Matt Target to Villa, decent signing for them. We have an 18 year old ready to step up and cover Bertrand.
Fee is supposedly somewhere north of 10m rising to 15m.
How do you feel about Che Adams, Andy?
Also, this chap seems to be doing quite well. https://twitter.com/JamesMcCann74
In all honesty I know very little about him, I trust that Hassenhuttl knows what hes doing so hopefully it's his pick.
It's the position we needed to strengthen the most and hes a good age so should be decent even if it takes him a season to fully get going.
I've heard his name mentioned a few times over the years so surprised he's only 22. I hope Danny Ings kicks on again next season for you given the amount of football he's missed.
Che Adams is quality. Reminds me of a hench Vardy. Wanted us to go in for him as he is a local lad.
Looking quite likely Lukaku will go to Inter and United will sign Ben Yedder as a replacement (Sevilla have agreed to sign Luuk De Jong to replace him).
From the little I've seen of Ben Yedder I like him a lot.
Rabiot to Juventus on a free.
That's a midfield of him, Emre Can and Ramsey they've not paid a fee for. Good business.
When did that Italian tax thing come in? Did Juve factor it in for the wages they are paying Ramsey? If not he must be laughing.
All well and good not paying a transfer fee, but you're shelling out massive wages and signing on fees in lieu of that for, well, some of them are decent I guess. Hardly a terrifying midfield trio.
Wolves have confirmed Dendoncker on a permanent deal. He started last season super slow, but since Wolves switch to three CM's, instead of two. He has been great.
Konstantinos Manolas has joined Napoli from Roma
Juventus current central mdifield options
Miralem Pjanić
Sami Khedira
Aaron Ramsey
Blaise Matuidi
Emre Can
Rodrigo Bentancur
Adrien Rabiot
:cab:
Is Bentancur any good? The few times I’ve seen him play he has been very underwhelming, not that I exactly know what he’s supposed to be good at anyway. The rest make a handy six for the three places in midfield with two somewhat similar kind of players for each position.
It's good how they've assembled that midfield on the cheap, but it's not that amazing. You can't pick a three out of it that would strike fear into whoever they need to beat to win the Champions' League.
Rashford has signed a new deal with Man Utd until 2023
Fucking lol if it's for the £300k that's getting bandied about.
I saw that, but with a 'heavily incentivised' caveat. It's lol either way.
I suppose it depends how heavily it relies on incentives. And to be honest I don't even know where the line would be for me as I've given up on pretending to know or care about how football and money work but still, that would be a lol amount if it's structured in such a way that he's regularly getting £200k+ certainly.
Rashford grabs ten league goals, gets a humongous contract.
Lukaku outscores him despite not scoring in last 8/9 games and getting benched throughout season gets sold?
Ha.
You manage to make 'despite not scoring in the last 8/9 games' like a compliment.
I'd also wager that Lukaku is already on a ludicrous contract, albeit perhaps not as ludicrous as whatever the guaranteed money in Rashford's new one is.
Not sure what to make of Rashford getting another contract if I'm honest.
I won’t even bother engaging that nonsense. We will probably end up talking about Marcos Rojo.
Smiffy that is.
Reported wages are - without fail - complete fantasy.
ITKs doubling down on De Ligt to United. Also Bruno Fernandes and Longstaff.
Henry Winter in The Times
‘He’s not driven by money; his new salary is less than half some of the crazier figures mentioned in headlines.’
Edit: I am not buying the De Ligt stuff. Would obviously be happy if we do sign him (as long as it’s not those made wages) but I just don’t see it right now.
It would be worth it for Randrew's victory speech.
We’ve put in a bid for Zaha, half of what they asked for but his brother told sky sports it’s his dream to play for Arsenal so that’s a done deal. #ITK.
It’s Suarez all over again
De Ligt would have to be brain dead to sign for United. What do they have to offer? They're not even at the same table as the other clubs in for him these days.
Money
What if Jones goes the other way and gets his life back on track?
Sorry what? Which Jones are you talking about?
Not James Earl. He is still trying to end some turtles.
If I were him I'd want to play for United. Great time to join them if you're an actually good 19 year old defender with leadership qualities.
Dutch people tend to have a raging erection for Barcelona though.
I'd be astonished if De Ligt happened but it's not like he hasn't got another 15 years in him to rectify it if that particular mad notion took him.
Pay-walled out, but his 'salary' will be something like £150-200k basic (to fit with the half of what is being reported line), with the bulk of the rest in appearance related bonus. It's irrelevant unless it turns him into an indolent spack (he's probably too young for that) but it's still funny in the grander scheme of things.
It's about right if you consider how stupid the club would look if they lost him on a free transfer. Plus it takes him well into what ought to be his prime.
I dunno, they had that ubiquitous option to extend for a year anyway didn't they? Maybe it would be worth waiting to see if he had an actual decent season at some point before putting him on par with the best forwards in the league.
They had no option but to extend Rashford, they just have to hope he remains hungry on that money. Some do, some don't.
Good to see that Arsenal are still rolling in with laughable bids.
God I used to hate it when we did that ALL THE TIME. Fuck you pay me and all.
Isn't defence a bigger priority for them anyway?
I reckon his issue will arise as a result of that grade A cunt Lingard. He's another United would be well served getting rid of.
Do Arsenal know what a defender is?
"Grade A cunts" are people who set cats on fire or support Liverpool.
Lingard is just enjoying himself being a bit of an idiot.
Dixon - Adams - Bould - Winterburn.
Once upon a time they did. It would still be equally as good in today's game I reckon.
Think them being in their 50s might be an issue.
Still better than Mustafi to be fair.
Southampton absolutely nailed this one. :-D
https://twitter.com/SouthamptonFC/st...912208384?s=09
It's a bit naff but I lolled at Targett in the replies saying they could have dropped him off.
If it is true (big 'if') that is laughable by Arsenal. Let's bid less for Zaha than Palace just received for a kid right-back. I look forward to the next bid of 40.5m.
I find it weird seeing so many people saying 'THEY TRIED TO PAY IN INSTALLMENTS OVER 5 YEARS LOL'
Aren't literally all transfers paid over the course of a players contract?
Spurs have finally completed a signing. Jack Clarke from Leeds, loaned back for the year.
Also, Bristol City have made their record signing to permanently get Tomas Kalas. 26 and only now leaving Chelsea after 7 separate loan spells.
Prem teams are really dipping into the championship nicely for signings in recent years.
Step up from Newcastle.
When Benitez said that Newcastle didn't share his vision, I didn't think that vision was earning pots of money for a mid-table Chinese super League team.
Leicester have rejected a £70m from Manchester Red says SSN yellow
If they'd have just done the decent thing by relocating the club to China and giving him all of the money then they could have kept hold of him.
Bastards.
Wasn't Koulibaly being touted as likely the cheaper of the two?
That was from the news though, not #ITKs so what do I know.
Napoli have signed Manolas as either a replacement or a partner.
Koulibaly would absolutely not be cheaper than Maguire.
Pablo Sarabia from Sevilla to PSG is done.
Regardless, Koulibaly shits all over Maguire.
Koulibaly has four years left on his Napoli deal. World record fees for a defender if you want Koulibaly.
Maguire also has four years left. Can see him going for £80-90m but not sure even United will go that far.
It'd take a mental fee to get Koulibaly. Like £100m+
Isn't Toby Alderwiereld now £25m due to a release clause?
Yes, but there's rumours his contract demands are ridiculous as he's trying for a last big pay day.
Given he'd otherwise be a no brainer for about 15 teams at that money, I'm inclined to believe it's true.
Hard to justify mega money for him with his questionable injury record.
United should be taking the risk though, far better than anyone else in that back four at the moment even if he misses a few games here and there.
Gary Cahil and Tyrone Mings are avilable for pennies.
Marko Arnautovic hands in transfer request at West Ham
They'd be justified in forcing him to run down his contract in the reserves.
He did this last year and then signed a new deal didnt he? He will have some release calyuse in there somehwere.
He has been OK for West Ham all things considerd. Usually, most of the West Ham strikers fail completely. The West Ham striker curse may be worse than the Chelsea one.
This time last year I lolled at the reputed Harry Maguire numbers, but now I don't know. There aren't loads of great options available, and can you put a price on not having to start Phil Jones every week?
If some kid is going for north of £100m having played bugger all games in Portugal then an actual decent, experienced defender is probably worth, at an estimate, £987m even if he's not actually world class.
That is what happenes when you watch and count other people money.
DisrespectQuote:
Sky sources: West Ham have rejected a bid of 22m Euros (£19.7m) from a Chinese Super League club for Marko Arnautovic.
We understand they regard the bid as insulting for a player of Arnautovic’s quality.
Che Adams first interview in a Southampton shirt. Settings targets already at 3:50 of the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngFEWR2irsA
Is he really called Che? :face:
Klopp flying overhead was a piece of genius.
Spurs are signing Ndombele:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48841318
I heard rumours we might try and hijack it last night. Clearly too late or bollocks which is a shame.
is he more like Iniesta, Xavi, or Busquets?
He's basically Dembele with an N.
Rafa's kids are going to have to learn Chinese, then.
The post Rafa exodus begins with us signing Ayoze Pérez maybe...
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48843718
Arsenal have CHANGED THE GAME, they've signed Gabriel Martinelli an 18 year old from Brazil.
What happened to Yaya Sanogo?
Actually, why am I clowning. Those crazy signings arsenal has made in recent years from lower leagues for a few million get a ridiculous amount of playing time. He probably goes straight into the first team with 30 starts next year.
Aren't they always shit? Looking at you Ryo Miyaichi.
Players that come to mind without checking
Rob Holding
Matteo Gundeozzi
They get way too much game time. Clearly not good enough for a team with aspirations like Arsenal.
There are probably more players they have bought that turned out to be an embarrassment but given the price...
If Rob Holding was allowed the opportunity to slot into an already stable set-up a la Gary Cahill when he joined Chelsea, he'd be first choice for England by a mile. Absolutely quality player, only time the Arsenal defence looked any good last year was when he was playing instead of Mustafi. Was really hitting his stride and then an innocuous push that happens 2-3 times a game pops his ACL. So frustrating.
Made Diego Costa look like the one with less than 50 games in that FA Cup final.
He's crap but made to look good next to your other options.
Everything in football and life is either crap or amazing now. Get with the programme, phonics.
Find it really hard to see how Newcastle are going to stay up. Rondon was their most important player and he's a gonner too. It's an awful squad. Who are they going to hire that's going to give them any chance?
Still available at 3/1 if anyone can be arsed having money tied up for ten months.
Everyone playing Premier League football is good, imo.
Mark Noble.
I genuinely had no idea that Rob Holding was one of England's best defenders (or least, could have been were in not for Arsenal being Arsenal). You learn something new every day.
Doesn’t matter how many years United are terrible, they’ll always be able to offer insane contracts to 7/10 players. They’re like Goldman Sachs, in a way. And who doesn’t want to support Goldman Sachs
7/10
Rashford is a 5/10, De Gea is a 8/10 who’s just had a 4/10 season
One of the ITKs who's been spot on the last couple of weeks is still saying De Ligt is coming
Available at 20/1 in case you're a fan of money.
I am, so will be avoiding.
Rodri(go) to City for €70m seems to be done.
Yaya Toure has signed for some chinese division two team. Vaz Te is also playing for them.
Clearly not watched many 90 minutes of ours last year then? Holding was the best defender in the side last year by a distance, whilst Ghendouzi, whilst inconsistent is still precocious enough to warrant game time over the likes of El Neny and errr... fuck who else do we have behind Xhaka and Torreira?!
The real question marks are largely over those we’ve spent plenty on or who were meant to be established internationals - this sums it up nicely and I can’t disagree with any of the assessments:
Edit - why isn’t tweet sticking...?
I can see the tweet embedded nice. Interesting perspective you have, but they are both still not good enough to represent Arsenal. Arsenal want to win, not just compete.
Joao Felix and Hector Herrera to Atletico
https://www.mancity.com/news/first-t...-latest-update
Angelino (who?) and Rodrigo to City.
Angelino was a City player wasn't he and they've claused him back after doing well at PSV? Presumably some sort of FFP fudge on the loan system.
Leicester are really willing to buy Ayoze Perez for £30m? We only bought him for £1.5m.
Frank Lampard to Chelsea is done, but they're waiting until tomorrow to announce it because social media websites have been down today.
It's fucking bonkers that in an age where clever, well run football clubs are doing well, Chelsea and Manchester United have chosen to appoint two ex-players with minimal managerial experience as their managers.
From the sort of logic that is being used to run Chelsea, Lampard is actually a very clever appointment. The last two years have just been a parade of toxic negativity, whether it's the team being shite, or the transfer ban, or anti-Semitism/discrimination/homophobia (don't know if this cuts through to the general football audience but it's a MASSIVE issue within the Chelsea support, dividing it straight down the middle), or that bloke screaming at Raheem Sterling.
They've spotted the unique brand of unconditional fan adulation that Hudson-Odoi and particularly Loftus-Cheek have received this season in comparison to other players who actually deliver more, and they've applied that same logic to the managerial appointment. Even if we come 13th, the fans won't turn on Lampard. It's very astute PR. Football wise, complete punt.
It might be a case that £30m was a release clause too, so Leicester may have wanted to just get it over and done with. I'll miss Ayoze. A lot of our players deserve better so I wish him well. I was tempted to just start supporting Rafa but I'm obviously not going to watch Chinese football. I'm done with Newcastle until Ashley goes, though.
United fanbase is quite different to the Chelsea one, I think. United fans expect Ferguson-era winning machines (and have retroactively tagged 'attacking football' onto that as well, making the job completely impossible). Chelsea fans expect a lot less, but are more chavvy about it so personal cults are stronger.
It's a punt but it makes sense in the context of the way the club is being run at the moment. If we got some clever Euro-god in as manager now it would be a complete waste because he would hate it within a year and leave.
I haven't seen many people turning against Ole Gunnar Binman. He's one of very few people at the club who isn't disliked at the moment.
The Italian journalists are backtracking on De Ligt, just like the PSG and Barca ones before them.
He's coming to Utd boys, it's on.
Get on that 20/1 and hire one of those plane banners for the next Orlando game.
Wait, why Orlando.
Ooooh to troll me specifically haha I get it now that's fun.
Or because United play there every year because of the ownership.
I'm pretty sure Manchester United have literally never once played in Orlando.
The ownership group is based out of Tampa and Palm Beach.
No idea how they come to a players value. For me Wan-Bissaka and Zaha are around the same value as with Bissaka, you are paying for ”possible potential”. With Zaha, you already know what you are paying for. He is already established as a good player. Is he really going to move up a level once he leaves Palace?
I think Zaha could if not entirely replicate the progress Mané has made at Liverpool then at least get close to it if he played at that level. The idea that his value is equivalent to Wan-Bissake either grossly overrates one, or underrates the other. Not least in terms of value to Palace themselves, where Zaha is probably worth close to their Premier League status.
He's definitely got the ability, it's just whether he has the drive or whatever you want to call it to get there at a bigger club having already sort of failed once.
Im all for buying the best players at shit clubs and they then make the step-up. But Zaha does.not give me that same hype as others in similar positions as him. Ive been wrong a lot lately and may be wrong again
Zaha strikes me as the type to be undone by a deep lying defence. At a top club he'd just run into congestion and lose the ball. He's nowhere near clinical enough either.
ITKs saying De Gea contract extension agreed.
Keep the ITK gold coming
If there's any hint of anything going on for United on deadline day Randrew will be going full Jim White.
I can't pretend any different, I love this shit.
Buffon has returned to Juventus on a free
Mak£s you wonder why he l€ft in the fir$t place.
I think he may be my absolute least favourite footballer. Appalling man.
Fahrmann to Norwich. If he can get over last season that will be a very good signing
And Robben has just announced his retirement. The way it is supposed to end.
Maybe they just enjoy playing professional football.
Or QPR.
Dont beg. America is one of the worst places in the world.
Not if you're a multimillionaire.
You can walk out of Asda with a loaf of bread and a pistol. Out in the states is fucked up.
I don't think Steven Gerrard shops at Asda.
Playing football in MLS seems miserable to be honest. Constant long journey flights where you have to sit in economy, because America loves it's sports to be as communist as possible, so no team has an advantage.
Anywhere is good if your rich. Fuck America.
Whats wrong with wanting money? If I got offered millions to move to America of China for a year and do something I enjoy, I would.
Earning more million for a year sounds great especially since they have been earning 100k per week for the past 10 years. But i don't earn millions. Im a fanatic who checks football stats and numbers all day. Seeing some bullshit on players CV at the end, looks shit.
Herrera has joined PSG
Not for the money.
PSG is to be filed under 'China'.
Soulless shit pit for mercenaries that want it easy.
If you think I'm going to China and having to drown my own poultry for a million quid a year, think again.
I'd do USA for that money, or maybe Japan at a push.
Asda is Walmart.
Probably worth it for their ego alone. Rooney is one of the best players in the league in the MLS instead of the slower, whiter Lukaku he was for his last few years at United.
The bigger reason is that these people are incredibly driven (which is why they've reached the top in the first place) and they don't want to let go. You're a long time retired, and all that.
I don't think there is anything wrong with chasing the money, I have more of an issue in the an attempt to draw more money from my chosen club though.
I think it was Assou-Ekotto(?) who flat out said he only plays for the money or something along those lines which was refreshing.
Refreshing but a shame. He was pretty good, but could have been top quality if he had given a shit.
Interesting you think their mortgages team and upper management were top performers in the years leading up to 2009
Who was that center mid City had, Johnson? He definitely did it.
Tielemans very close to signing. Top four here we come.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48887835
Raiola has said that Pogba wants to leave.
You alright, Randrew?
I just don't get it tbh. I would be biting of the handy of any club who offered a chance to break even on the prick. I just don't see why Man United and their fans would want him representing them irrespective of how good he may allegedly be. He hasn't done enough in the time he has been there on the field and his actions of it have really harmed them.
Sell him to Juventus with Dybala in exchange, add a top centre half and two midfielders then things wouldn't look too bleak even with the nostalgic one at the helm.
The Pogba hate is unreal.
I'd rather have Sandro, Rugani or Bentancur in terms of part exchange.
Never rated Dybala.
Odegaard to Real Sociedad.
Is he the biggest false-promise since Adu?
It's only a loan so Madrid haven't given up on him but it doesn't look good.
If Madrid aren't willing to pay up then he should stay. The players touted as being part of any exchanges would be useless.
Atletico have told the Greaseman to get the fuck to pre-season training. They've "found out" that he's had a deal with Barcelona in place since March, having started negotiating with them in February and are less than pleased.
Making it worse is now Barcelona think they've already got their man, they're trying to put off the buy out clause over a longer time. They've now told Barcelona they want it all upfront or to piss off.
How can he have a deal with barca in march and a.madrid have not accepted any offers for him? How does that work?
It's been well known Griezmann's release clause would drop to 120m from 200m on July the 1st for ages. Barca therefore knew they could trigger the release clause and wouldn't need to 'negotiate' with A. Madrid. Therefore they started looking for a deal with Griezmann so they could just trigger the release clause come the date and it all be done.
As Spikey said, that's against the rules unless Atletico gives permission which they clearly didn't. The statement they released is amazing tbh.
In other news, it's plane tracking time on reddit.
EDIT: In other other news, Man Utd just appointment someone I used to play badminton with as their lead Sport Scientist.
Just read the statement. For madrid to make the claim, the evidence must be serious. Why would Barca even need to contact greaseman anyway. He made it clear years ago he wanted to join. What is the penalty for Barca, market ban?
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/metro...-10122689/amp/
Morata to join a.madrid
https://www.skysports.com/share/11757866
I would have thought their whole (idiotic) mandatory release clause system largely mitigates against the dangers/moral outrage of tapping up.
I don’t think it is stupid. It is extreme and it does not stop the transfer of players from spanish clubs.
I think they're more pissed off that he went straight to negotiate with Barcelona after they went out of the Champions League.
That Barcelona are now trying to whiff on the fee.
Can they get away with saying no to Barcelona paying the release in installments or are they just going to end up bullied into it anyway? Normally when a player wants to go then they go.
In instalments it's up to Atletico. If Barcelona stump up the fee up front, there's nothing they can do.
It seems fees are not paid upfront anymore. Which is in the best interest for both clubs involved(so I've read)
Release clauses have to be paid up front in order for them to actually be triggered. Clubs can choose to accept the same amount as a payment in instalments if they so wish (which sometimes they do to maintain good relations with another club). In this instance Atletico are well within their rights to tell Barca to pay it up front or fuck off.
Atletico themselves paid above Joao Felix's release clause in order to avoid paying it as a lump sum.
In the other news, we idiots on reddit tracked a private jet owned by the same company Utd used to fly in AWB. It said on their website it was going to Lisbon so obviously we thought it was for Bruno Fernandes. Then one of the ITKs came in and said Bruno is flying in today but from Porto not Lisbon. At that exact moment the flight turned towards and ended up landing in Porto. ITK info is it will fly him back this afternoon, landing in Manchester at 5:15pm.
Its not like they need the coins either. They have made sales already totalling more than 150m and spent about the same.
Tracking planes now, fuck me.
Sometimes I feel like we're quite a sad bunch on here, but we're all fucking winners compared to the people involved in that shit.
https://www.flightradar24.com/LJ75/212cabc0
Get involved. Should take off about 2:45.
That looks like a contender for most tragic ever post on TTH to me.
Hi Ian.
Do chelski still have a million english players out on loan? Lampard to recall them all and finally get game time. Still time for Jamal Blackman
Alan running to the press on Lewis (or whatever this threat was) is worse than anything in this thread
The plane just landed back in Manchester.
Even in my heyday of lapping up transfer shit, this would have been too far.
He shouldn't have chanced the all-day breakfast.
I just hope it's someone signing for City.
I'd prefer it to be just some random rich dickhead who was flying private.
A few of the ITK plebs (with one of them holding a phone with Randrew on video) with homemade signs waiting for Bruno at the airport.
If they had half the dedication of those Shia LaBeouf flag legends they would have a man on the runway.
Yeah, tracking flights is nothing special these days. Randrew needs to up his game. He's annoying people because at the moment he's just another ITK geek, but with our help he could really push on and become something special.
Common consensus seems to be that
1) the Tierney deal will be done this week
2) We’ve more than 45m to spend, but the club like that figure being banded around
3) no one, fucking no one want to buy Kolasinac or Mustafi and we’re not willing to loan out the latter
4) Zaha is desperate to join and we’ll stretch to bring him in
5) Our new centre back will be Saliba from ASSE but he’ll be loaned back there for a year
There’s some exciting stuff there - Zaha, Tierney are both addressing issues in the side, and Saliba seems a great prospect but going into the new year with no new CB’s actually available to play is not ideal, and I still think we need competition/something different for Xhaka’s place.
Loaning back the CB means he is shit. What are you doing with Nelson, Marlo and Smith? Are they going to br used this season?
That's perfect. I hope he did all his shifts in a white shirt.
We need to start copyrighting our creations.
What is going on at Leeds United? :D Poor bastards.
Tyrone Mings to Villa for £20M.
Jose is an idealist. I don’t see him ever going to China, he enjoys the competition in Europe too much
They wouldn't understand his trolling out there. Its the portugal or psg he is waiting imo
I wish the USMNT had the balls to fire this idiot we have now and bring in Mou
Nelson is back and expected to feature, Smith-Rowe as well (wanted to loan to Leipzig again but they wanted a perm deal or with an option to buy which we're not interested in), unless you mean Matt Smith who's just been promoted to the U23s but is very much on my radar as he looks a real player? As for Marlo... Not a clue who you mean...?
The major prospects outside the two mentioned already are Tyrone John-Jules (son of Red Dwarf star Danny aka Cat, no less), who's been excellent at all age grades and is good, all round striker with more chance of making the grade than the current 3rd choice, Nketiah from what I've seen. Saka and Amaechi are wingers that are a couple of years behind Nelson but look to be perhaps slightly more rounded players, albeit less physically ready, whilst Joe Willock looks the best of the three brothers (the others left for United and Benfica in recent years) and came on in the Europa League final. There's something Rambo-esque about him.
Before Dan Ballard was announced on loan to Swindon, there was a rumour of an Arsenal player joining but no idea on position and we need forwards. Someone came up with possible names, one of which was young Tyrese, who of course stands out for his surname. He’s his nephew as it happens. Danny John-Jules’ kids have triple barrelled surnames, which I’ve not come across before. Nightmare getting those on a shirt!
That's it, it's Tyreece, not Tyrone - knew I'd cocked that up. Didn't realise he was just his nephew - the internet is a wash with references the other way from a few years back when we first saw him breaking into the U18s as a 16 year old and the name forced a query... I see now a couple of years on that the top results are those more recently showing the relationship is indeed nephew/uncle...
He'd do very well down the lower leagues I think - he's what might now be termed 'old fashioned no 9' that tends to do well at all levels.
Ballard should do well, too.
Marlo from The Wire is Nketiah.
Maybe he’s taken them as far as he can. Feels harsh though, I agree with you there.
Edit: You’d think Jose would be more at home with the foot clan anyway.
They're in the gutter these days.
Look at these fucking casuals thinking Splinter manages the US Turtles smfh.
Arnautovic has gone for £22m. I wonder what disgusting wages he's on in China.
A disrespectful offer according to west ham. They have lined up Maxi Gomez for £50m as his replacement.
De Ligt has agreed terms with Juve according SSN yellow
If they haven't posted their ITK Reddit source then it's nothing but LIES.
The reddit ITKs are all Mino Raiola laughing his tits off.
Have West Ham had the worst striker luck in football history? They always seem to throwing around £20m and often, they end up shit.
Two years old but as true now as it was then, Sincere.
https://www.theguardian.com/football...za-scott-hogan
They also rejected a £35m offer from China in January and made him sign a new contract.
I noticed Stephan El Shaarawy has also gone to China.
amazing cliffhanger to end the post on.
Ian, stop it. These men have families.
Leicester complete £40m signing of Youri Tielemans from Monaco on a four-year de
Oh yes
Is this Harvey Elliott worth getting excited about?
He's the next Patrick Roberts. Was that his name?
Google says so. It also points out he's joined Norwich for this coming campaign on loan so who knows.
I get iffy of these youngsters, mind. We've never really had much luck with them other than TAA. I'm really hoping Brewster gets a look in this season if injury free.
Sterling was a fairly decent poaching.
And, thanks to Bournemouth, Ibe and Solanke weren't bad either.
I would guess the chances of nicking genuinely good players off other youth set-ups is fairly low, seeing as most teams move heaven and earth to keep players they seriously rate.
Neymar's missed the first day of training apparently.
PSG will probably win the Champions League when he leaves.
He’s a jacket? Like a winter coat?
Joselu's finalising his deal to Deportivo Alves. I somehow doubt they have £30m but I'll settle for whatever they can give us.
I don't know why he made me recall Xisco so I had a Google to see what he's up to these days which in turn led me on to Newcastle's 2008/09 transfers. Not bad!
Surprising to see Fabricio Coloccini still going in Argentina along with Gutiérrez which is pleasing, but then there is this snippet from Sebastien Bassong who now plays for Peterborough.
Talk about deja vu.Quote:
"Bassong said he wanted to leave the club, which he later cited "shambolic political situation at the club, with no manager or owner in place and pre-season well under way"
A few others of the same season. Danny Guthrie currently playing in Indonesia whilst Ryan Taylor just got released from Fleetwood after a season in India. I wonder if he'll rock up elsewhere. Kevin Nolan was the other but I don't even know if he's hung up his boots yet! I really like looking at where past players are now.
Nufc.com reprinted a Nicky Butt quote from 2009 that was bang on the money about the current situation as well. Meanwhile, a twitter account claiming to represent the buyers has talked about how amicable the process has been and the press are full of shit.
We've been had. For a third fucking time. :moop:
At this point sending the guy into the Tyne, never to be found again, seems like the only option.
As disturbed as it is, I'm surprised some mentalist hasn't gone above board and took Ashley out once and for all.
*Wrong team, sorry Shinners.
Who’s this centreback Juve has signed from Sassuolo? Does that mean they don’t need De Ligt?
Fuck it. The only way to win is not to pay. No season tickets, no new shirts, no bums on seats. I don't want people to turn up and boo. I want silence.
He definitely should die. I've been saying it for a while now. Even if the takeover happens, I'll be glad to see him dead.
lol slight overreaction me thinks.
Any club that receives 30 million quid for Ayoze Perez while we sold the player that kept, 70 million 12 months later, Allison out of the Roma team to Juventus for 10 million euros can stay schtum or buy Mezut Ozil/Mustafi off us as penance.
It only takes one season to go from a complete joke to one of the best in the world.
Get after him, John. He's in love with a human being masquerading as clever AI.
Don't chat shit about our bot.
Bruno Fernandes and Maguire both look likely to go to United. The Maguire fee is going to be fucking eye-watering.
Lots of links to Milinkovic-Savic going round; seems we might go after him if Pogba leaves.
What happened to the plane?
Was it a Piper Malibu?
IDGKT taking L’s all over the place.
Odegaard + Isak. Definitely booting up a Sociedad-save on FM20.
Steve Bruce is apparently bookie's favourite for the Newcastle job. Surely not. Surely not.
Neymar's off to Real. #ITK
I wonder if he applied himself a little better, focused more on his football than his theatrics whether he would have actually challenged Messi and Ronaldo as the best. It's a joke league in France but his stats speak for themselves. I just don't think he's worth the baggage.
Hazard and Neymar in the same side could see Madrid reclaim the title though.
He did for a year or two at Barcelona. He didn't get that close.
It says everything about him when he ran away for the money, rather than stay and challenge Messi properly.
He's obviously good, but I feel players like him come and go.
How do you challenge Messi in his own personal fifedom?
At the end of the day, he has massive daddy issues and his dads a total cunt.
When Messi and Ronaldo retire, it's going to feel so empty.
He'd be in Messi's shadow until Messi retired. Messi is Barcelona at this point. Neymar was right to leave if he had greater ambitions. The long term plan may well have been to go to Real.
No one has come close to challenge Messi or Ronaldo. Once they retire, normal service will be restored. They changed the challenge. Neymar still has time on his side. He has made the right decisions so far.
Somebody should have told him that 'challenging' Messi was a waste of time. He would have been better off playing alongside him and rivalling him at international level.
There is nothing wrong with being top 5.
Diego Costa and Wolves....
Nottingham Forest seem to be buying decent. Playoffs?
He is completely under the thumb of his Dad who lives vicariously through him and uses him to enrich himself. Neymar Sr. has probably made more money off Jrs career than his son has considering he's received 70 million from Barca and PSG just to get his son to join.
It's Birdman and Lil Wayne for football.
I'm sure Barcelona originally paid something in the region of £80-90m for Neymar originally, but only for Santos to receive about a quarter of it. The rest is lining his dads pockets.
He also seems to love spending time with his sister at any given(or not) opportunity.
that tattoo she got of just his eyes is creepy is fuck
imagine having her on her back and all of a sudden u notice Neymar staring at you
i mean i'm still gonna keep going but still.
Diego Costa firing Wolves into the Champions League
He would be a great signing for them tbh, a few times last season they struggled against the shit whereas Costa wouldn't get bullied and would bring a bit of bite and thuggery which I reckon Wolves could do with.
Would Costa be any better than Jiminez?
And isn't he completely washed up now anyway?
He’d be better and he isn’t washed up. Van Dijk on his arse
Laurent Koscielny has refused to travel with Arsenal on their pre-season tour.
West ham have made a loan move for Higuain.
Diego Costa can fuck off. I reckon Raúl Jiménez is my favourite player in world football at the moment.
4 league goals in 29 games since going back to 'Atleti'.
He's done.
Wolves only just made Raul Jimenez's deal permanent for £30m too, it's not happening.
Some other foolish team will sign him and regret him.
Why aren’t more clubs sniffing around Ben Yedder?
Shunsuke Nakamura is still playing and has signed for Yokohama FC at 41. All I remember him for. was the two free-kicks vs Man Utd
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-WUmGZxq5E
The club also has a 51 year old up front.
The plane that AWB was flown in on went Manchester to Amsterdam this morning and is now coming back towards the London airport he came into.
In other words De Ligt to Utd confirmed.
(Not even the ITKs are still on the De Ligt to Utd train but we soldier on).
Won't pay £5m to keep Rafa, spends that much in compo for Bruce. :moop:
The #mufcfamily
Griezmann signed for Barca.
Griezmann official to Barcelona.
No clue what Barca will be playing with their forward line. Will Griezmann operatre outwide?
I reckon they may yet shift on Suarez even with the required departure of Dembele/Coutinho.
Though currently either 4-3-3 with De Jong, Rakitic and Arthur/Biscuits, along with Messi, Greaseman and Suarez interchanging. Or I'd have a 4-2-3-1. Messi as the CAM with Suarez up top, Greaseman right and Dembele left.
Bruce a very good manager I think. Has never underperformed anywhere that I can recall.
Looks like De Ligt to Juve will be confirmed today.
That'll only matter in about 4 games every season. That team, especially with the additions this summer is going to coast to the league and probable UCL Semi-final anyway.
Translate isn't perfect, but is that basically saying we demand the previous €200m clause is upheld?
Yes. It's saying that since Barca agreed terms with him before the clause was reduced, they should have to pay the previous (200m) clause.
Leicester ITK saying Maguire to United is done.
"Atlético de Madrid believes that the amount deposited is insufficient to meet [Griezmann's] buy-out clause, since it is obvious that the player committed to FC Barcelona before the aforementioned clause was reduced from 200 to 120 million euros," the club said.
"Atlético de Madrid believes that the termination of the contract occurred before the end of last season due to events, acts and demonstrations carried out by the player and that is why the club has already started the procedures it considers appropriate for the defense of its legitimate rights and interests."
A.Madrid do have a point if they have evidence that he agreed deal when the clause was 200m. Sounds stupid from a Barcelona view. You know the player only wants to join your team. Why speak to him before the clause decreaes, unless they didnt know...

Why not just link to the English version?
I wanted encourage you all to take the opportunity to learn Spanish.
Barcelona have given Greaseman #14 and not reassigned Coutinho a number :D
Realistically there's only one I pay any attention to and he's got absolutely everything right that he's said. The rest is just a bit of fun.
And no, it's some twitter guy that the Leicester fans say is very reliable. His feed is mostly unrelated drivel and he seems like a twat, but that's what they say.
He’s not reliable it’s a parody account created by some weirdo who has created numerous “characters”. Had a run of predicting the starting eleven last season which made some people think he was a fabled “itk”.
I've been conned.
I don't have a big enough tongue to taste all of the tears coming out of Atletico Madrid over this Greizmann transfer.
The massive tools.
It's Barcelona. Anyone should be happy to see Atletico fleece those cunts.
I'm not sure there's a player who's done more to destroy his image than Griezmann over the past few years. Gone from hard-working grafter with incredible skill to flash cunt who thinks he's Lebron James when he's not even Klay Thompson.
Yeah hopefully Atletico take Barcelona to the cleaners for this.
And then one of Griezmann"s knees falls off.
They have to if they are serious. Hopefully, they follow through with legal action and not just cry about it online.
Fekir for €30m... to Real Betis.
Phew.
"player that didn't sign for us is shit now"
30m is a pittance you mong.
Who needs to spend £30M when you've got like a new signing Lallana and co...
:uhoh:
On a serious note, I reckon we're going to make a statement signing late on.
Lallana may not have faced Barcelona but he's still a comeback king. Norwich.
It's a shame we can't loan Suarez for the opening day only.
I think there wont be any incoming this summer.
Our biggest needs are maybe a more clinical striker(though Firmino is the heart of the attack so that's very tricky). A goalscoring/more forward thinking midfielder and some back up full backs.
You could argue we have to give Brewster the chance of being the striker. The 2 creative midfielders we've gained back in Ox and Lallana and one of the young lads impressed at LB in the first game back. We have Clyne back for RB too.
There's also the cuntish looking lad coming in from Fulham. You don't imagine he'd join if he didn't think we'd be playing him some time.
Aside from adding depth Liverpool would be stupid to change anything.
They should have sacked off signing those kids and taken a voluntary transfer ban to be paid forward at some point in the future when it will no doubt be needed.
I kind've hope they keep Wilson as a Shaqiri alternative, but I don't know whether he'd be happy in that role when he could probably go and start elsewhere.
Villa splashing the cash again - £15m for Douglas Luiz (who?), £7m for Bjorn Engels (again, who?), and £12m for Ezri Konsa (once again, who?).
I'm sure they've all been thoroughly checked out, Konsa worked with Smith at Brentford, but I feel so out the loop. Luiz has done two years with City without so much as getting near the first team squad. Boffed out on loan Girona. Sounds like Guardiola really rates him though.
Well, it just so happens a guy I know (who knows a guy) spotted De Ligt landing in John Lennon Airport last night.
Doubt we'll do anything unless there is a severe injury in pre-season, and even then these things take a lot longer than just deciding you need cover somewhere.
Would prefer to keep Clyne as cover at rightback as Gomez is a bit of a liability there. I suppose Fabinho can also cover that spot, theoretically.
Reckon we're chancing our arm on Robertson being superhuman again with only youth teamers as cover, but what are the alternatives?
Yeah, a left back coming in would be good, we’re hopefully find elsewhere. Bit thin up top of we get any injuries. Big Divock will step up though.
Yeah that kid. Looks like a bit of a twat but hopefully he plays good.
At present it seems he's happier to turn to youth, rather than go and spend on a different more experienced option. He'll need a little while for fan mentality to adjust to that, a little like when he first came in and wanted a stop to people moaning at matches.
The first team could go on for another 5 years or so without any change due to everyone being nice and young. The likes of Wilson and Brewster could come in and do better than a Lallana or Sturridge would have done respectively.
Twitter says that Maguire to United is done for £80m. Comes after Maguire kicked off about being priced out of a move.
Madness.
Is it he good? I haven't paid much attention to his games but he seemed very ordinary.
That's the biggest case of English tax I've seen. If he was Spanish he'd have been about €25m.
He wins headers and he isn't Phil Jones. Pay them double for a laugh.
Good in the air. Decent passer and his charges out of defence are great fun.
He is slow and can get exposed especially when not playing alongside a senior partner but I’ll be sad to see him go. Yeah the fee is high but when we go and spend £40m of it on Lewis Dunk or James Tarkowski it’s sort of irrelevant.
Disgusting.
Yeah Maguire is done. Idk the fee. I've heard it's more like £60m with 20 in add-ons, which given everyone is reporting £80m is probably true.
Bruno Fernandes looks likely to be next.
Maguire sounds like a sensible signing. He needs to make a step-up now though. Its Man Utd now. They don't settle for ordinary.
Also, what is with the negativity surrounding Pogba? It does not seem as like he has done anything wrong on and off the game.
I've made it pretty clear before I'm not exactly thrilled by signing Maguire, but given it's happening I guess it's time to hope he steps up and is our VVD signing.
If can ignore the fee, we've definitely upgraded our back 4 significantly compared to last season. Shaw - Maguire - Lindelof - AWB is the first actually good back 4 we've been able to field in ages.
@SincereTheRebel
Yes, the Pogba hate is absolutely ridiculous.
Maguire is a beast of a man. He's always looked decent when I've seen him against Brighton. Don't take Dunk.
Laughable fee. Laughable club.
Your mum's laughable, you wet cunt.
Didn’t expect a reply like that 😅
Leicester laughing all the way to the bank for that money, not that he's bad, but great deal for them.
You could have bought 2 Kante's off them and still had money left for an Eastern European Maguire.
It's encouraging that he seems to have made the move happen, rather than just being a Leighton Baines-style fanny sitting there in his comfort zone. CHARACTER.
Absolutely bonkers at that price but at the end of the day he's an experienced Premier League defender and you get what you see. I don't see him as VVD but then who thought VVD would turn out so good anyway.
VVD was top quality at Southampton just as Alderweireld was, so yeah, I don't think it was much of a surprise. Maguire isn't going to touch either of their levels though, and with Alderweireld available for £25m or for free in 12 months, I know what I would have done.
Madness.
The rumour is Alderweireld is asking for ridiculous wages and a long contract, trying to get his last big payday. Given there's few teams in the world he wouldn't be a no brainer signing for at £25m and yet there seems to have been 0 interest in him, I'm inclined to believe it's true.
Filip Benkovic is a ready made Maguire replacement and Leicester already own him. Monstrous player. I guess if Rodgers is aware he's got a bunch of cash to blow on a centre back he'll do it anyway.
Maguire for 80 million is fine I suppose, but United's scouting policy does appear to be no more than "players we saw on the terrestrial television".
Benkovic and Soyuncu waiting in the wings so I hope we don’t hose £45m of the Maguire money on Lewis Dunk and give those two promising guys a go with the excellent Johnny Evans. Spend the money on a winger instead :nodd:
We've learned, mate. We have learned.
I had forgotten about 'Alexis'. Didn't he cripple himself again on international duty? January move to China for that man.
In that case he will come back like Eric Cantona and win them the title.
I've been think Bruce might be the first person to manage both Newcastle and Sunderland. Then I remembered Allardyce. :moop:
Rumours going about that Coutinho wants to go back to Liverpool, who would also like him back.
Proposed 2 year loan with obligation to buy for £80m+ at the end of that.
I'm not sure Barcelona can afford to put off the fee due to FFP though. They need to balance the books after splashing on Griezmann, De Jong and co.
They are totally ballbagged with Coutinho. No one is going to give them anything near his value, whatever that is. They either keep him, hope he agrees to go to China (doubtful), convince PSG some insane swap deal is a good idea (doubtful) or, well, apparently loan him back to Liverpool (insane). That would be both incredible and completely unbelievable, perhaps eclipsing even the Eto'o/Ibra deal in terms of badness.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48998009
Delph has gone to Everton.
Barcelona must have the shittest transfer record of the past few decades. Other than absolute sure thing no-brainers (David Villa, Dani Alves, Luis Suarez) they seem to balls it up whenever they try to be a bit clever.
Private jet went from near where Maguire lives to Manchester a little while ago, @Lewis
The same one that was picking up Bruno and De Ligt?
Leicester to Manchester must be about a two hour drive. I hope he plants some trees the cunt.
Think we're heading for the return of the shambles La Liga era of the mid 90s. Only one Italian team is remotely serious, though, and the German league isn't in business at all, so it's Rule Britannia for the next five or so years as Lionel slows down.
If Lyon weren't French I'd have a small punt on them for the CL.
Tonne of articles just came out that De Gea is signing a new 4 year (with our usual club-side option for an extra year) contract.
He threw the last season so nobody wanted him. Legend.
He is worth whatever anyway, and that's before you consider him going for shit all and then having to find a worthy replacement.
Well it won't be as much as is reported (as player wages never are) but we're clearly going to have to accept overpaying to keep hold of our best players whilst Sanchez remains in the squad, because of the leverage he gives everyone. It's still not the same as signing new, over 30 year old players on huge, long contracts.
It's amazing that five years of making Arsenal look competent hasn't drained your optimism.
It's only me who loses out by being negative before a ball is even kicked.
Why are wages never what they are reported? I'm pretty sure most of the one's reported for Liverpool are on the money.
Wouldn't they have to declare such things in financial reports?
Maybe it's just United players then, but Pogba for example turned out to be on nothing like what was reported when we signed him.
Neymar has officialy asked to leave PSG.
Inter have offered £60m +bonuses for Stormzy
Koscieln will be allowed to leave Arsenal
West 'am to sign Haller from Frankfurt for £40m
Ryan Gauld has joiend Portugue second tier team Farense. He has a £3.6m buyout clause. He is 23 now. Im sure Waff will be ecstatic.
Coutinho back to Liverpool is actually going to happen, isn't it...
that sounds like an awful move. Even on loan. Liverpool the cunts, have a special team up and running. Coutinhio and his style does not sound like it fits, even from the bench.
Delph is 30 in a few months and presumably on massive wages. Is he a Gueye replacement? Lol if so.
He did well in our free flowing attacking days. Takes a mean free kick too. My concern is we've moved on from the PRESSING and open games to a more controlled and at times, gritty style.
He'd undoubtedly improve the squad by a lot, even though I don't like it for how he left.
Pep Ljinders will get Coutinho upto speed with the new style, I’m sure. :alan:
Noise about a Bale to Utd on loan again. So long as there's no obligation to buy I'd be over the moon with that to be honest.
I'll believe it when Reddit knows whether he's sitting window or aisle.
I'll keep you updated.
Trippier off to Atletico Madrid for twenty million, which is a strange transfer all round.
Thank fuck
BBC is the only itk required.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48729302
But his private jet...
Trippier for twenty million is pretty cheap in the current market. I wonder why (assuming they didn’t) didn’t go for him at that price.
So who's Spurs' right back? Aurier? :harold:
Harry Maguire taking a break from his extended Man Utd medical to play for Leicester City at Scunthorpe tonight.
Or the game's part of his medical.
Coutinho to United £87m
Lol no.
Certified
Trippier official to Atletico. Don’t think I’ve ever been this happy to see someone go, although he does seem like a good guy. Not sold on Aurier but at least Poch won’t be playing Trippier out of loyalty anymore
He might look great over there. Sheff Wed are launching into some hot legal action over Bruce's departure and our approach. Take us to the cleaners, lads.
EDIT: And allegedly in for a £40m striker from Hoffenheim. Because that money for Rafa's contract didn't exist. Can we get raided by HMRC again, please?
How was the De Ligt fee so 'low'? Purely age?
Doesn't that make him the second most expensive defender of all time? As a 19 year old with a couple of seasons under his belt in Holland. It's a lot to pay for potential. Ajax probably can't afford to take the piss on fees like other clubs can.
This. Overmars did an interview where he explained it
Quote:
"We made an agreement with Matthijs last year that we would cooperate and would charge a price in line with the market," says Overmars. "Not the top prize, but not the bottom either. Then you can always say: who estimates that? I can do that, I get paid for that. In the end we determined a price. I think the price of Matthijs in the current market, if you see what is being paid for other players, could have been slightly higher than what we ultimately asked for. But that's not the point.
Them Ajax man knew he was going to be nice from last year?
He'd already played a full season.
He had pretty much forced his way into the first team at the end of the 16/17 season (played in the Europa final against United), they knew they had something special on their hands but I don’t think anyone imagined the situation around him and de Jong escalating quite this quickly.
I'm still surprised he didn't go to Barca. It seemed so nailed on at one point.
I'm still surprised the ITKs were wrong.
We were also nailed on according to the plane watching ITK's.
Edit: Pepe \0.
Listen, right, these were RELIABLE guys who KNOW what's going on.
It's probably Juventus and De Ligt who got mixed up.
I think it was fairly obvious I was never very convinced we were getting De Ligt. The only ITK who is actually reliable never claimed De Ligt to United either.
This ITK gang is like the Man Utd version of RAWK for Liveprool.
The backpedaling.
Furious backtracking.
You owe me three quid I lost on de Ligt to United, RL. 'ITK' my arse.
Taxi spotted heading to RL's gaff.....
I've not backtracked on anything, other than a few very obviously unserious De Ligt posts.
Apparently a KLM flight has just landed in Manchester from Amsterdam. MOTWYW.
Flight no. RL-L0L
What?
HOW WAS THE DE LIGT FEE SO 'LOW'? PURELY AGE?
Better?
What?
Low? That's two Ayoze Perez's.
Barca have officially offered 90m plus two players from a possible six. Dembele, rakatic, semedo, coutinhio, malcolm and someone else.
Based purely on FIFA, I'd go for Dembele and Semedo.
Tonton Zola Mokouko and Anthony Vanden Borre all the way here.
This Neymar deal is getting desperate.
Sixth player is Umtitti.
Him and Dembele + £90m is huge for PSG.
Umtiti's absolute shite though.
Surely you'd take Coutinho and Dembele plus the cash, if for no other reason than sealing their collective fates as part of the weirdest transfer tryst of all time.
That and, without knowing an awful lot about Malcolm, they're the two 'best' players on that list.
My guess is every team is now looking down the back of their sofas for extra coins if they know neymar is available. Who can really afford him though because clearly Barca cant.
He's regarded as the second coming of Christ and had three of the richest clubs in the world after him in an age where Harry Maguire is being talked about at 80m.
Someone that knew the reason explained the reason already anyway, so you can run along and get back to disagreeing with people to show how alternative you are.
Yeah, I don’t buy that the fee was low, although if United had been serious contenders I’m sure Ajax could’ve bumped it up some more
Surely this whole pick some players plus cash thing is media BS.
You wouldn't risk alienating 6 players at once with only 2 of them leaving. Not to mention how complicated a deal would be that involves 3 players, 3 agents and god knows how many different clubs/contracts.
I'd imagine this situation ends with Neymar signing for Real or a bumper new contract at PSG.
I thought at the time Eto’o + £60m for Zlatan was bad value for Barca.
That's assuming Barcelona properly care about any of their players not named Lionel.
Neymar to Madrid is best for the neutral I think, but I think he'll slither his way back into Catalonia.
I've just read about Cutrone to Wolves. That'd be pretty mega. Being rumoured to get Diego Costa and ending up with Patrick Cutrone.
Juventus have gone with the truly strange "Turn De Ligt on" as their tagline for the signing.
Should have come to us mate...
Angel De Ligt.
Juventus are worse than the Germans for this stuff, and it all stems from that pathetic badge change.
Italians trying to be funky and corporate is one of the more tragic sights in Europe, along with the Germans trying to swear and the British going on holiday.
I think I need a Geoffrey Boycott suit and hat for my next trip. The generic mustard trousers and UKIP blazer just haven't cut it in terms of inspiring awe.
Joelinton is having his medical, apparently. I hope his name doesn't have some bollocks Brazilian pronunciation. Joe. Linton. Joel. Inton. Jo Elinton. Spoilt for choice.
From what I've seen of him, he'll be a brilliant signing.
Joe Linton sounds like a budget striker from league one. They will have Ashley fooled until it comes to signing the contract.
How the fuck have they got Mike Ashley to sanction a forty million quid signing?
Panic buy. Makes him look like an even bigger shitehawk considering what Rafa was asking for to be kept on.
So for Rafa he wont budge but get Steve fucking Bruce in and he'll flash the cash? Bottom of the tyne, lads. It's the only way.
Bruce probably thinks Joe Linton is a hard working Northern lad who has been plying his trade in League One.
Man utd have officially rejected 60m euros straight cash for Stormzy from Inter.

I presume we'll hear more about Bale next week. Manchester United and Jiangsu Suning are really the only two options that I could imagine happening.
Zidane was ballgobbling Bale in order to bring him into Madrid. If Bale just didn't fit Madrid anymore, then it is what it is. Italy have recently had a bunch of money dumped into the league. Maybe he could be off to Milan.
I'm going to be gutted if Bale returns to the Premier League, at least playing in Spain meant he was relatively fresh when he joined the national squad. It seems a real shithouse way to get rid of a player who has arguably done more in a Madrid shirt than Zidane ever did too.
I reckon madrid take the whole “Im Gareth Bale. Fuck you. Im not speaking no spanish” situation as total disrespect.
He joins us, shaves his head and Steve Bruce converts him back to a left back.
Apparently the stuff about him not speaking Spanish isn't true, he just doesn't like to in public.
I really don't see him coming to United. If he and Madrid were open to a loan I'd imagine we'd be all over it, but his agent came out and said a loan outright will not happen. Even Woodward isn't mad enough to put up the fee and especially the wages it would take to buy him now.
If he changed his mind and is open to a loan, I'd be delighted if we took him for a year.
Maybe its PSG interested as a replacement for Neymar.
Cant see him coming to England.
Can't Lightpockets Levy take him back at a cut price now they are trying to get rid this hard?
I'd rather he goes to China.
He's an awesome player but age and price tag go against him now. I wouldn't be happy spending the sort of money he'd cost, especially as a Premier League club as I can't see him hacking it physically. He'd be out of action more than on the field which is bad news for Wales, if not already too late for us.
By all accounts he's insistent on getting those remaining 2 years of £500k a week and to be honest, why wouldn't you? He's already won everything.
If that is true then there's only 2 or 3 clubs in the world outside of China that could afford him.
I would be surprised if any of those two or three could even see the positives of such an investment as really, there aren't that many. You'd gain a cracking player but he could break at any moment and you're only getting a couple of years out of him at best. Once his pace goes he's gone.
He's dead right too.
Wouldn't he stand to lose sponsorship monies (either existing or potential) by being out of action for two years? Somewhere along the line it must make more sense to be actually playing on half that at another high-profile club.
Really and truly, he has enough made by now anyway. I'd just do whatever annoyed Zidane the most.
Bale to Jiangsu.
Probably. Clubs that can/will pay his wages are pretty thin on the ground in the civilised world.
Unless he actually wants to play football and takes a massive pay cut, that is.
Bale has surely had assou-ekotto on the phone telling him what's what. Man has a well paid job, enjoy it.
Bale has played there for longer, played more games, scored more goals and won several more trophies. It's not an outrageous claim.
You can only live off your old sucsess for so long. Besides, what you did in the past has nothing to do with what you are doing now and can do in the future. You sounds like a scorned wife.
Of course it's outrageous. I hold Zidane as one of the greatest footballers of all time. He's also a fucking don. Bale is maybe top 30? 50?
And Zidane wasn't exactly a goalscorer or a forward, so that's not a fair comparison in the first place (it would be more fair to compare Zidane to say Modric, but then Zidane still wins).
Bale is a great player but honestly I think he peaked around the time he came to Madrid really. And most of what he's done since then has been in the shadow of Ronaldo, Ramos, Modric and others, I think. He has never been the main star at Madrid, not even after Ronaldo left.
And I know when Smiff says "in a madrid shirt" here he means as a player on the pitch, but unless I'm mistaken, Zidane has been there for most of the trophies that Bale has won as well and that also matters when looking at his legacy to the club of course.
Zidane is historically overrated because of good performances in international tournaments and because he was elegant and nice to watch.
Great player no doubt but not sure he was ever dominant in club football.
Uh he was a number 10 attacking midfielder. He was supposed to be elegant and nice to watch.
And he was more dominant for Real than what Bale has ever been.
I cant believe you guys are actually thinking Bale is comparable to Zidane in anyway. You are all maniacs :cab:
Jonathan Wilson touched on this on Football Weekly.
I didn't watch enough of Zidane outside big games to have a firm opinion on this either way but I'm fairly sure some of the people who'd vocally call him one of the best ever haven't seen much more of him than I have and their argument largely boils down to "because Zidane" and reeling off a couple of their favourite goals.
I think he just used to phone it in most weeks, but the fact his best performances were all at the highest level would suggest that he was incredible.
Most of the legends are graded like that. The Likes of Pele and Maradonna turned it on at World Cups. Add R9 to the list also. Even though he was injured 80% of the time. I like to think of it being the way, Women's football is now. You only ever seen mass coverage of the Women's World Cup. Nobody seems to care about club-level football.
He hasn’t won the CL as manager with them!
They both have defining moments for Madrid, but arguably both were performing at a higher level prior to landing in Spain.
Captain De Gea on 1m per week.
I imagine he will be in some currency or another.
I think the problem with the Bale thing isn't necessarily that RM/Zidane are wrong for wanting rid, more that Zidane is seemingly being so disrespectful about it despite what Bale has contributed to the club, whether or not he was a focal point of that or not.
That being said, much like Zidane time will be much better to Bale I think. I'd honestly like to see him go to the Bundesliga or something but it seems China will be his only saving grace w/r/t his wages.
Bale is in a strong position though for his own pockets. Real need to pay him to fuck off.
Hopefully the end up having to do what City did when they wanted rid of Adebayor and carry on paying half of his wages.
I can't see any reason why Bale would go to China. He already earns insane money and has an incredible life in Spain, even for double what he's on I can't imagine he wants to go breathe smog in China.
He's always wanted to wear one of those lampshade hats.
The Chinese will hate him for his chonmage haircut.
He can become a full time monk. He is already halfway converted with the look on his face.
Bale should just go full Bogarde and tell Zidane to shove it up his arse
R7 > R9
Dont talk to me.
as in Raul?
Fekir is off to real betis
Lol.
lololol fair play.
Dani Ceballos loan to Arsenal seems done. It seems like a good loan move and all, but I don't really exactly see how he is that necessary for Arsenal. I suppose he'll compete with Ozil for the no 10 role?
Arsenal really should just focus all their efforts on getting defenders.
Who is the guy you got on loan last season who turned about to be quiet turd?
Denis Suarez from Barca. For all intents and purposes, he looks like the exact same player as this Ceballos.
Mind you, I read somewhere that that Suarez basically had a massive injury going on the whole loan spell and wasn't really able to run, so I guess he never even had a chance.
Yeah, basically being a bit daft. Who is FEC? And is 2.0 supposed to be Holding? Cause he'll be OK but it'll take at least half a season for him and Bellerin to get back into some sort of decent form I reckon, after those injuries you just don't step back on it as if nothing happened. Besides, it's not as if they are exactly world class defenders, they are just better than Kolasinac and Mustafi :harold:
"Who is FEC?" :nono:
Toggle Spoiler
Ah I see.
Yeah Holdings is alright but not amazing or anything, I think. We'll see I guess. Phil Jones feels like a very different kind of defender, but I guess they are a bit comparable in a way. Though to me Holding feels more like a poor mans John Stones.
Surely FEC 2.0 would just be FFEC. A bit like all the new Maradonas.
Did FEC ever get the armband in the end?
There’s a long way from FEC to EC.
Some outrageous claims in this thread about (the real) Ronaldo and Zidane. If you’re regarding these two as anything less than in the bracket of some the greatest players of our time then take your face for a shit.
"Take your face for a shit" is new for me.
Has he ever played a first team game or is this on the back of some youth international stuff? Crazy money.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49091233
Paid.
https://www.soccerbase.com/players/p...&season_id=151
24 games total for Chelsea last season with 5 goals. Plus 2 games for England.
Waff was raving about him...
Hazard is Waff’s biggest rave, you should pay more attention
You'd think so.
Joelinton's in. And the sun is right in Bruce's eyes.
https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cp...inton-main.jpg
His stats are Firmino level pre-Liverpool (I was gonna write Pre-Klopp but one of my favourite facts is that Sir Brendan bought him) so I wonder if he’ll be a similar “pressing forward.”
He'll be shit and Bruce will be gone by January.
Aye, we've seemingly replaced a 10 goal a season guy with another. I'm still pissed off they opted to spend the money here and now rather than secure Rafa and give him the money to do as he wished. He could've brought in 2-3 players for £40m.
It just rubs salt in the wound. I don't think I could cope being a Newcastle fan at the moment, some serious WTFuckery going on.
Seems to me like Newcastle are just spending money they have recouped. You'd imagine Rafa would have wanted additional funds.
I reckon they've made that kit so that everything else they do seems better.
Well it makes sense they wanna tie one of their main supposed talents down when there's been interest from Bayern and they have their Transfer ban thing going on.
International succses is still, and always will be levels above club football.
Delighted for the self righteous cunts.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/49100040
It would amuse me greatly if he ended up having to go back to Atletico until the next window.
I don't understand why, given how long this has gone on, La Liga is just now saying what they could do.
Why wouldn't they already have the facts of the situation and be ready to make a judgment? I mean this shit has dragged on for months.
Because that bloke Tebas is Walter Mitty.
I know there's a fair bit of Barca hate generally, but it's the moronic mandatory release clause system that's at fault here rather than them.
Different eras so you can't really suggest anything of the sort. It's been thirteen years since Zidane retired which I think is pretty much the same season Bale made his debut. 2006?
In that time Bale has scored more goals despite playing less, won more trophies, won four Champions League titles (I give the players more credit than the manager, ZZ being like Di Matteo than a Rafa 2005) and one of the biggest, for me personally, he led Wales to the Euro semi finals, a nation of 3M or so in our first tournament in 50 plus years. Zidane may have won World Cup and Euros but he did so as part of a golden generation for France, not a team made up of championship no hopers, Ashley Williams and an unsigned player.
Not that I dispute Zidane wasnt good but I think many of the big players in the 90's are remembered more fondly than they should be.
I'm of opinion a huge majority would struggle in today's game anyway.
So bale is above zidane for you in your G.O.A.T leaderboard? Say no more...
Zidane is levels above Bale.
Bale isn't even the next best after Messi and Ronaldo of the current top generation. He's won an awful lot at Madrid with some key goals along the way but theres plenty of other players in the squad who have been more influential.
Zidane bossed.the biggest games, played for an incredible France side and possibly the best ever Juventus side.
We were restricted to things like the 2006 World Cup quarter-final when he put in one of the best individual performances ever.
OK, so hear me out. Forgetting Bale, purely on Zidane now. Is it not conceivable that because you hear he's a good player then he goes and puts on a performance in one of the few games you do see of him that you suddenly think, yeah, he's a great player. I personally would have the likes of Ronaldinho as miles ahead of him.
I don't even dislike him but I don't think he was as great as a number of you lot do. Not that that should surprise anyone, I guess. :uhoh:
Wasn't Zidane voted European footballer of the century or something similar?
I'd have Ronaldinho ahead of anyone. Such a don.
The Spurs press people are saying we’re going after Dybala. Prob just to get the Lo Celso fee down, but if that happened....
The debate was never is Bale better than Zidane, only a monkey would favour the former, it was who achieved more as a player for Real Madrid, which is very much in question.
How is the Lookman fee so low?
In the current market the 36 top division appearances Wikipedia tells me has means he must surely be worth at least £100m before you even worry if they're any good.
Wolves have been linked with numerous players with not one signing so far.
Cutrone inbound.
Douglas Luiz announced by Villa subject to work permit.
Super impressed by our business this summer. We've made permanent the key loans, cut the deadwood and replaced 6/7 departing squad players with younger, more talented players. It really feels like there genuinely was a very in-depth plan for this eventuality. Most new players will have spend 2+ weeks, in not 1+ month with the squad. We have young players stepping up too - Davis and O'Hare have looked good pre-season.
Excited.
:face:
Haha that’s pretty good
De Rossi has joined Boca Juniors.
Jesus Vallejo is joining Wolves on a loan with no option to buy. He was the best CB in the world on FM15 which is the last one i played.
Nicolas Pepe to Napoli for £71m.
Refreshing.
Although there's reports coming from France and Italy that both Inter Milan and Liverpool have also agreed a fee in principle and it'll be up to the player.
Difficult to sift through the shit on this one, but I wouldn't mind him.
I know Liverpool could benefit from a bit more DEPTH, but the absolutely last thing they want to be doing is rocking the boat up front. They would be better off getting Rickie Lambert back.
If it is true I guess you just have to trust Klopp. He’s in that rare breed of manager category that absolutely know what they’re doing.
People can't not fiddle with things. Alex Ferguson signed Berbatoss to give the best team in Europe a 'different dimension', and it just ushered Carlos Tevez out the door.
£70m for DEPTH is a bit mental, I think they'd be better spaffing that on Bruno Fernandes.
Especially when they're going to sign Mbappe next summer anyway.
A depth signing should be someone like this Pepe character this time last year - ie a prospect, not someone you break the bank for.
Someone like that Fraser geezer from Bournemouth.
We just seem to be getting our depth from discarded youth players. Also Sports Direct are facing a £605m unpaid tax bill.
Would be a nice time for a takeover, wouldn't it?
Bales actually gone to China. £1m a week.
What a twat.
I've seen £1m a week and £19m (€22m) a year which is not making sense so we should just split it.
Christ you're a cunt.
Juventus want to include Dybala in a deal for lukaku.
I’d move to China for £1mil a week for a few years.
Only so you could see Rafa.
I'd rather live in the civilised world on half the wage.
True, but you must have love for the game to get that good. That's what confuses me. And £500k per week or £1m per week, either way you are never going to run out of money. Especially when you factor in sponsorship deals etc.
Are Real just letting him go?
I hope he's stung them for that 'loyalty payment' you always hear about.
He'll be playing LWB for Conte in six months.
Ronaldo seething himself to death every time he fucks a move up.
Pepe to Arsenal.
Zaha. :harold:
Palace said before they won't sell Zaha and AWB in the same window right? I guess once the latter went they just point blank refused to negotiate a remotely reasonable price on Zaha.
Bullet dodged for Arsenal. The guy would be absolute turd for any team that busses are parked in front of.
I wonder whether football transfer business will pass a lol point where it turns into rugby-style moves of two and three year contracts for minimal/no fees. You're basically a hostage to fortune if you sign a five year contract with a lesser English club. Yes, you will earn good money; but if your ambitions extend beyond that then you can end up stuck at Crystal Palace forever. It could also go down the American ten year mega deal route (Australian rugby clubs are increasingly doing likewise), possibly with clauses relative to average earnings or something since you can't price in salary cap changes. Alternatively, anyone with a brain could just insist on a release clause of 'less than lolty million' and the problem disappears.
Rodgers had a reasonably low success rate and even then the better signings of his have all fared much better under Klopp.
Klopp brought 9 out of 11 of the starting team for the CL final. His success rate is near perfect thus far. The only exceptions to that are Karius and if you count him as more than a back up, Ragnar the Red.
Either in a massive coincidence we suddenly got loads better at transfers the second Klopp came in, or better luck next time.
Phonics is probably mostly right.
Klopp's signings before Michael Edwards were Grujic, Matip, Karius, Mane, Klavan and Wijnaldum. That's what, a 50% hit rate? And half of them were clearly players he saw in Germany.
Cutrone has left the milan training camp after talks with wolves. No idea how bad he is but hopefully, he is an Inzaghi regen and celebrates like a madman every time he scores.
And the combined fee for those players outside of Mane was about 50p so I’m sure he’s allowed his picks when they’re that price.
Read literally anything written from Mallorca pre-CL final. It’s all statistics/moneyball transfers.
I’m sure he gets to say no but he’s not picking the players they spend 10s of millions on.
I am a cunt but I’m an informed one.
Isn't this where the difference between 'Manager' and 'Head Coach' comes in?
Sorry weren’t you calling me a cunt for pointing this out less than 12 hours ago?
I was calling you a cunt for being a cunt. I didn't say you were wrong.
The committee were there under Rodgers and signed a lot of shite, along with the odd gem.
The same people have had a miraculous run at Liverpool in the past few years. Not just signings that have done well, but signings that have performed outwith all expectation (Salah) which have transformed the team.
In the end, for all the analytical shit, which everyone does, it boils down to good luck. Sometimes you sign Andy Robertson, sometimes you sign Alberto Moreno.
That said, for all the players, Klopp has clearly been the best signing Liverpool have made in the last 5 years and he's the one that has taken the team to where they are, regardless of whether he does all the legwork on transfers.
Lukaku to Inter looks to be happening.
Anyone giving actual money for the lump at this stage (and paying him enough to leave) means they're absolutely blessed.
Pepe
That’s the shit I’m after. Add Tierney and between the signings and the youth promotion, this summer looks a good ‘un.
Never even heard of him.
You uneducated philistine.
Has he ever done anything or is it another one of those   mate things that the forum latches onto every once in a while? I'm also looking at this lad at Milan going to Wolves.
Martinez who got player of the year at Reading last year.
Maitland Niles is the back up at RB. Theyre not Man City, can’t have two 50 million quid players per position.
Argentina Martinez? If so, he has been at Arsenal for about 10 years now. Niles isnt a RB though is he? He got thrown back there. He was good when i saw him though. Rather see him play RB over Bellerin but Niles still isnt good enough.
There’s so much wrong in there that I’ll just drop the subject.
Martinez has also been great in league cup / fa cup / friendlys
Etc. When that ten years is from the age of 16 as a GK and he’s been first choice on loan for three clubs in three years, it’s not exactly a protracted period. He’s genuinely decent and as a back up to a guy with no injury history, perfectly adequate. Bellerin could do with back up, but, as mentioned, we’re not Man City and even they deployed Delph at LB most of last season.
How did Bellerin have a great season last year? Wasn't he injured for most of it?
Leno is average. The rest of the defence is abysmal. Definitely buy more attackers.
51 league goals conceded last year (same as the previous year too), the last time they conceded more than that was in 1983-84 when they let in 60 goals in 42 games.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...l_F.C._seasons
arsenal can break into top four but only because of chelsea losing their hazard and basically being fucked for a year. They will probably still mess it up and Wolves to snipe them all.
He was playing well before getting injured in January? I’m not sure what the question is here.
As mentioned previously they’ve bought a centre back and are trying to buy a left back. What’s the issue? You can’t rely on Lcazette and Aubameyang scoring every game. Think Auba got 30 something, Lacazette around 20 and the next guy had like 4.
I think they’ll be better than last year, that abysmal away record can’t continue forever and OGS and Lampard are big time bin men so it should be enough.
Trolling of the highest order.
Wolves will get closer only if they beat the shit.
If Arsenal were serious about signing Zaha he would have kicked up a fuss, handed in a transfer request and gone on strike. Anything to force a move.
It's easy for these players to force a move as theres no point keeping hold of an asset who is refusing to play. Look at Lallana, Lovren, Van Djik etc
Arsenal got a central defender who *might* be good enough in a few years, and who they won't have for 1 year anyway.
Can't wait for the season to start
Gareth Bale's move to China is off after Real Madrid cancelled the deal
Oh good I was hoping for more of this.
Also who's this teenage dickhead with a fucking top-knot / bun hairdo that Liverpool have signed?
Heh. Zidane must be seething.
Madrid cancelling the deal is all kinds of lol.
Was it because they were loaning him back to some Italian club?
None of this makes any sense.
Fun though.
He had already gotten eye surgery to fit in more ffs.
Isn't it because Asensio is crocked so now they actually need to play him?
Bale isnt a bad backup
Loads of chatter today about Bruno Fernandes to United. Not from anyone remotely reliable, but fingers crossed.
:happycry:
Ah, now onto the unreliable sources.
Just start copy-pasting the BBC gossip column and the transition is complete.
SPOTTED.
Mark Kerr kicking an empty Fanta can just outside Old Trafford.
Hearing he's going to be Pogba's replacement.
Thats the whole purpose of the thread.
Fernandes in a bola apparently spotted listening to Ian Brown on Spotify.
That’s public knowledge and has been so for months...
Wasn't Fernandes supposed to be flying in to sign about a fortnight ago? You were tracking his plane like a kid using that NORAD thing that shows you where Santa is.
So have about 10 other players.
Doubling down.
Randrew living in all these heads.
The James thing was literally on the front page of the bbc (or was it the guardian?) before you even posted about it...
He first posted about James on the 10th of May. I'll wait for you to find the BBC article from then or before.
Don't forget about the exact time of the announcement.
I’m not going out of my way to find it so I just did a basic search on twitter. Here’s ‘the Florida post’ mentioning it on... the 10th of May.
https://twitter.com/thefloridapost1/...365684224?s=21
Now I wouldn’t want to doubt their itks but...
Appears it was on sky sports according to this tweet on the 10th May from a Newcastle fanzine

Hands off John McGinn you twats. Many thanks.
Moving on from this nonsense De Rossi going to Boca is one of those moves that confirms he’s an absolute dude.
On Arsenal defence - it's an absolute joke is what it is. The "Best" player is Holding who have so far only showed a hint of maturity for about half a season. Him and Sokratis should form a decent, above mid-table pair, but not top 4 stuff. Bellerin is OK at times, but he's really a wingback. And injured half of each season. He just defends a fair bit better than Kolasinac which isn't really saying that much. He still makes some massive mistakes every few games. Maintland-Niles being considered a fullback is about as crappy as the attempts to play Oxlade - Chamberlain, Reiss Nelson and others in wingback positions have been in the past few years. It'll be a waste of his talents, in the end. Chambers has been "maybe a talent" for like 3 years now. How can a defensive player who played for Fulham last year have had a "pretty successful season"?
Left back let's just not even talk about that. The best option remains Monreal and that's telling a lot, as he peaked maybe 4 years ago.
Is Hazard a fat boy or is he just gaining muscle?
https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2019/07...4393665644.jpg
He's always been highly buttock-dependent. Those chunky cheeks drive his ridiculous acceleration and strength on the ball. Rest of him has always been a bit suggestive of continental breakfasts.
Evra has retired
Idrissa "better defensive midfield stats than Kante " Gueye is at PSG for a medical
I thought Evra had already retired tbqh.
Absolute hero. He Knows the Club as well, so there should be a job in it for him.
Who is the longest serving/most prominent former United player who does not Know the Club?
Ruud van Nistelrooy?
Ronaldo maybe
Paul Ince
Ruud van Nistelrooy definitely bought into things. That time they got showed up 3-1 at Madrid he was Roy Keane-like in his own way. It's probably Paul Ince, since anyone Alex Ferguson liked would get a pass, and the last six years can just be written off.
If ever there was a player that Fergie tolerated as a means to an end it was Paul Ince.
I only read it recently, but there is a good Guardian read from a few years ago about United and Liverpool in the nineties that covers that stuff well.
The Barcelona game was the beginning of the end of Ferguson’s relationship with Ince. “You fucking bottler, Incey! You can’t handle the stage, can you?” was Ferguson’s half-time observation. When Ince replied, “Don’t you dare call me a bottler, don’t you dare,” Ferguson walked purposefully over to Ince and hissed in his face, “You are a fucking bottler!” The pair had to be separated by Steve Bruce and Brian Kidd. The Liverpool game, four months later, confirmed Ferguson’s judgement that Ince was getting ideas above his station. Ince struggled to stick to instructions to stay on the left of midfield to neutralise Steve McManaman. When he went on a run of his own down the United right, the ball was headed clear to McManaman, who ran into the space left by Ince to start the move that led to Jamie Redknapp’s first goal. “I sensed that he no longer wanted to be the anchor-man in midfield, where there was none better at the job,” Ferguson wrote later. “It was clear to me that he now saw himself as an attacking midfield player, which was a hopeless misreading of his strengths.”
The thought of him steaming over, probably in his short-sleeve shirt and tie, and getting in his face is hilarious. Which takes us back to Ferguson being a massive let down in retirement. Imagine the book he could write if he wanted to let it all out.
Was Ince not also one of the various players staring at at his feet and trying not to be noticed when the future Sir Gareth Waistcoat ended up having to take a penalty against Germany too?
And when he did find his balls in 98 he missed.
I can only imagine the lolling when china whoever found out that Real wanted £85m for Bareth Gale.
They were lucky to be giving him away.
I hope Real Madrid have an awful season but it's a good move. He would be wasted in China just as much as he will be at Madrid.
Some Italian journalist, who is apparently good for Sarri (and of course some ITK) is saying Lukaka/Dybala swap.
Di Marzio and Agresti who are both extremely reliable for Juve are saying it too.
I dont understand that at all. Isnt Dybala a much better player?
Might as well swap McTominay for Pjanic while they’re at it.
Ronaldo is 84, Dybala is 25/26. Ridiculous.
I still don't buy the Lukaku bullshit though.
I suppose if you stick Ronaldo and Lukaku up front together, all you really have to do is cross the ball.
Dybala playing behind Ronaldo sounds like a great idea. Especially considering Juve win Serie A by November.
Dybala strikes me as a nonce.
Dybala has the Argentince overhype syndrome. Complete shite like all of their strikers since Crespo.
He isnt a striker though, he plays the number 10 role.
Messi> Riquelme >Dybala > Aimar > Ortega >
Who am I missing?
Those are even worse for overhype.
Indeed, 'number tens' are even worse.
Everton has agreed on a £27.5m transfer fee, potentially rising to £36.6m with Juventus for Moise Kean.
Juve giving up on him that early?
Maybe they see him as Balotelli/Cassano 2.0
I had this thought re: Dybala/Lukaku.
I think United are in for Dybala, it's a perfect signing for them let's be honest (and by them I mean Woodward/Glazers and the folk obsessed with ramen noodle sponsorships).
What I don't think is that Juventus are in for Lukaku. Why would they want Lukaku, exactly? He's really not that good, and sure, Juventus will win Serie A by November, but what purpose would that serve them to have him?
I look at it like this. I think Juventus and United have basically agreed to a fee for Dybala or are likely very close to doing so.
Juventus and United both realize that Inter paying a higher fee for Lukaku is beneficial to both parties. Juventus have somewhat of a tradition of trying to jack up fees for players they don't actually want to cost their Italian rivals as much as possible.
As such, while Dybala ponders his future, they're leaking these swap rumors to try and con Inter in ponying up the cash up front.
This is a flimsy theory but anyways.
Di Marzio supposedly saying we're close to Bruno now.
Sign Bruno.
Sell Pogba.
Sign Dybala.
Sell Lukaku.
I've never really gotten the hype around Dybala, I haven't seen much but he's never impressed.
After thinking about it, Crespo was probably shit too. We might have to go as far as Batistuta.
Truth be told Dybala is one of those players who I've watched maybe 10 times but never once came away thinking "wow, what a player" but constantly hear about how good he is from the internet.
I reckon that Bruno chap will be a decent signing for whoever picks him up.
Can't see Pogba going, who is going to get near what United want for him? PSG if someone coughs up for Neymar? Barcelona if someone coughs up for Coutinho? Real Madrid if someone gives them £85m for Bale? :roflol:
Any chance there's a PL or decent Championship club that would give Troy Parrot a good look on a season loan?
He's a decent chance of playing back up to Kane this season, so I'd imagine he'll stay put.
That would be even better.
Wolves have officially signed Patrick Corleone from AC Milan. I know nothing about him, so I’m dubbing him an Inzaghi regen into he proves otherwise.
If Troy Parrott takes Llorente’s spot in the squad then we’re fucked
Parrot looked very promising against United the other night. Was really impressed.
He's looked good all pre-season. Plus there's Son and Moura to step in of he's not quite up to it.
:harold:
Basically not happening then, yeah? Same as Maguire and Bruno Fernandes.
Maguire is definitely happening. Players from Portugal it's fucking impossible to know because their media just spam bullshit constantly.
This whole summer you've been acting like an American fan who's experiencing his first ever transfer window
You've all basically spent the whole window screaming "STOOP HAVIIIING FUUUUUUN" at me. You can all chortle my balls.
Dickhead Eric Bailly getting yet another injury buys Phil Jones another year, so some centre-back had better be happening.
The Maguire transfer basically looks like it's one end of a little chain of CB moves, including Dunk to Leicester and Adam Webster (who?) to Brighton. Really think it'll happen.
As ever it seems people are trying to complicate transfers. Manchester United will sign Harry Maguire if they meet the asking price. They haven’t yet, so he ain’t going.
I feel they will get desperate and meet it but also Rodgers has said we have set a deadline before the actual transfer deadline as we don’t want to be scrambling to buy a replacement so United probably need to get a move on. Don’t think “Adam Webster” or whoever has anything to do with it.
Leicester wanting Dunk as a replacement and Brighton wanting a replacement for Dunk is entirely believable.
It's like house buying but with more dominoes. And less money.
I want you to play that Turkish guy just to confirm whether we dodged a bullet or fucked another transfer up.
Speaking of Leicester, anyone see this going round the other day? :D
https://i.imgur.com/snLYK5d.png
He looks like a bit of a laugh. Shit hair, striding out of defence and pinging crossfield balls. But definite bomb scare in the brief minutes we’ve seen thus far. Would rather give him and Benkovic a go than spend a huge chunk of the £90m Maguire fed (if United grasp the idea that this is the price and they have to meet it) this window.
What's up with the influx of Italians to the Premier League?
https://www.premierleague.com/news/1213395
I see Cutrone to Wolves and no-one else?
New tax rules in Italy which mean that if you live for two years abroad and return you get a massive tax break. So an exodus of Italian players looking to return to Serie A in a couple of years. Read claims that it is one of the reasons both Ronaldo and Ramsey went to Juve as well.
So Cristiano is going to leave Juve and then come back for a tax break?
He's conflating two tax breaks. The one mentioned is to get Italians who have money abroad to come back (my mates Dad has been wanting to move back to Sardinia but was unwilling to take the 35% tax to repatriate), there's a seperate one for foreigners earning over x amount that gives them a tax break if they base their affairs in Italy.
Ahhh ok my bad. Thanks bub.
16m for Cutrone seems an absolute steal. Isn't he meant to be Italys next big striker basically?
Why are Milan selling?
What the fuck. Somehow is the word.
That is some seriously fucking up in the market, then.
Looking a bit at it, they bought Bonucci from Juventus for 37M and then sold him back one year later for 31M.
What the fuck. Italy, man.
The £20m here and £30m there adds up faster than you think. For the past three years, they have bought at least six players per season for £15m or more :cab:
Cutrone isn’t very good, he had a solid few months about 2 years ago but no one expects him to be a class player anymore
Yup. That strategy always seems to be the absolute best way to financial ruin without at least getting some Silverware on the way.
Always better to buy one star player for 80M than 3 mid-tier players for 25M each...
See what happened with Spurs when they sold Bale, for instance.
Can Bale take credit for that though? He was sold six years ago...
They hadn't signed anyone for 2 years prior to this summer and when you consider that their Net Spend is generally one of the lowest in the league I think you can point to Bales £90m having a ripple effect for a good few years.
Strange because I saw Milan folk on twitter losing their shit about how could they do this to a kid who was supposed to becom the next great one club man or some shit lol
I'm not saying you're wrong it's just funny how there's such a difference of opinion all the time.
I saw some folk on twitter?
Is that any levels up from comment sections?
I’ve never watched him play, I’ve just heard this from a bunch of Milan fans the past 3 months
Chadli reached double figures the following season tbf. Capoue went on to be a Premier League regular but the one that sticks out after a little look is Paulinho. Definitely dodge.
Tottenham buy him for just under £17m, then they sell him to China for £10m, Barcelona sign him for £36M, he does the double with them before being loaned back to China less than a year later, then six months after that they Chinese snap him up again for £37m. Suspect as fuck.
Utd have signed Hannibal Mejbri, an extremely highly rated 16 year old midfielder who we've been after for ages. 10m euros.
Cheers mate
I look forward to seeing him move on a free transfer at 20.
To Newcastle on 90k per week, having made 3 appearences in the League Cup.
Optimistic.
*West Ham
Sunderland used to be the Man Utd dump, didn't it?
That same summer they bought Lamela and Soldado for 30M each, Paulinho for 20m, Eriksen for 13M (that, admittedly, was a bargain), Capoue for 11M, Vlad Chiriches and Nacer Chadli for about 9M each.
Now I may remember it wrongly, but I think they were doing quite shit in the league after that. But I may be wrong :sorry:
The principle in general never seems to work. Like when Arsenal sold Van Persie and 30 goals per year and replaced it with "not bad but not star" players, like Mertesacker and Arteta.
Most of their success has come from Pochettino, Kane, Alli and Eriksen who they signed for a combined fee of about 20m.
In recent times they've had more success than failures but there was a time most the transfers in were shite.
Alderweireld and Son too.
This Lukaku for Dybala swap deal, if true, is somehow a terrible deal for both clubs.
I'm sure I must have seen Dybala play at some point but I can't pretend to recall if I have.
I think he's fairly inconsistent, and that's in Serie A where he's played his whole career. Strikes me as the opposite of what United need.
Another pacey attacker who is either really good or basically absent and never anything in between?
Awesome.
One team loses a Lukaku and one teams gains a Lukaku, so it's not a terrible deal for the former.
