Yeah but the humidity cancels all of that out
Only 60% humidity today my boy
Closing date for Squaw Valley got pushed back to 7/7. 2nd time in 3 years that skiing will be open on July 4th. Sadly I won't be here anymore then, but it really is the best time of year to fuck around in a swimsuit.
Don't kill yourself lad.
I’ve got terminal constipation, it’ll get me first
We've an orange weather warning. For 1mm of rainfall :cab:
(That's 0.0394 inches @mokbull).
Looking pretty fucking mega for the weekend
I have no use for miles.
Knowledge is power
Hoping the sun breaks early and is out Thursday, I’m off on a bike ride.
That' a long ride.
Lol brutal weather in Murcia until Monday but a glorious weekend in UK.
Just been down Old Leigh. Pot of prawns. Pint of Scrumpy. Perfect temperature. Even the dickhead TOWIE mob with undersized dogs in oversized handbags couldn't ruin it.
Off to get some charcoal and meat for the barbecue tomorrow now.
Is scrumpy a generic word for cider in England or do you mean Scrumpy Jack?
Flat Cider basically. Usually stronger too.
Ah, I never knew what the term was. That sounds like the class one I had when I was in Wales last year.
I visited the beach in Scotland today. Banging
https://i.ibb.co/Yf6Dknv/IMG-20190419-145827.jpg
Lol it has been torrential rain here since Friday. Amazing to see heatwaves in the UK whilst it's barely 12C in the south of Spain.
Huge fan of the weather. Mon the Griezmann tan.
Toggle Spoiler
Nice arse your mom's got there mate.
Touché.
She is a milf though. Offft.

"The highest recorded were 76mph (122km/h) at Mace Head in Galway and 74mph (119km/h) at Shannon Airport."
'The Beeb' going above and beyond to squash the Beef between Giggles and Mokkerz.
Their headline doesn't compute though, but you get used to it.
Wind’s been pretty lowkey here recently. Close to 0mph (which is equivalent to 0kph btw Giggles)
Actually, close to 0mph is slightly closer than close to 0kph is.
Edit: or is it? Fuck off Mokkers. Where's Ital when you need him?
If I'm travelling at close to 0mph I get somewhere quicker than if I'm travelling at close to 0kpm? Right? I mean, 1kpm actually is CLOSE TO 0MPH. What a fucking pussyhole measurement.
Depends, if you're measuring it in kph then you're going a bit slower.
If you're measuring in KPH you are a bit slower.
km/h.
kmh is different again.
Kmt
Klf
Kys.
Brb afk.
So Thursday looks fun across UK, Benelux, northern France.
Tomorrow is meant to be hotter than Thursday here (up North).
Thursday looks utterly disgusting.
I'm in Galway Thursday so I'll have rain no matter what.
Car was saying 40c earlier today.
Cars say that when you leave em in the sun
I expected precisely that response
This is some fucking bullshit
I'm not looking forward to Thursday.
This heat is disgusting and I'm only in Belfast. I don't know how some of you are coping in the south of England. Thank fuck my new work has an air-conditioned office. The old one didn't and it was horrible last summer.
We're due some thunder that should freshen this up.
I can't wait for some thunder. There was meant to be a go of it that never arrived last weekend.
It's going to miss us. Unbearable until Friday here. :moop:
I'm just gonna sleep in the garden. It's ridiculous.
Sleep? Not happening. Fuck this shit. I'm getting aircon before next summer. I can't be doing this every year.
39 on Thursday here, that should liven things up a bit.
There seems to be some sort of massive storm in the Channel. The lightning is flashing here but we haven't got any rain. Looks pretty good.
Going to France on Thursday, which is when Paris is supposed to have its 42 degree day...lol good stuff
I've set up my fresh and black tent (best purchase ever) on the patio to avoid wanker insects, with a spare mattress inside and I've also brought the extension lead outside so I have a fan on me. I could defo do this every year. I feel like Bear Grylls but in an episode of Changing Rooms.
I'm sure I just saw a flash of lightning but no sound of thunder.
Just rain and give some relief from this heat.
Finally started but it's still boiling.
My room is so much hotter than the rest of the house for some reason.
Top floor?
The thunder and lighting we had in Wolves the psst few hours was vicious. Woke me up startled.
One of the worst nights I've had.
Would have gone and slept on the sofa downstairs but we had a mover coming this morning to look around for an estimate.
Checked into a local hotel with AC for two nights, fuck dealing with this shit.
Last night was hideous. We didn't even get the rain to help ease it. Tonight will be worse and tomorrow night has the potential to be 'the hottest night time ever recorded in the UK' according to the Weather this morning. Fuck sake.
This shit is only good with a swimming pool, all Inclusive bar and an air-conditioned room.
I can’t believe how much everyone’s moaning. :cab:
It's been warm for two days, get a grip you mongs.
No it wasn't.
It's 25c in Exeter today. It was 33c here. Wind it in lad.
Much warmer in fahrenheit though.
295 kelvins here today and I was wearing a jeans.
Just the one? Boom would be disappointed.
Kelvin is a great measurement. We should rebrand Celcius as Keith and Fahrenheit as Mugbull.
I only experienced 100 mugbulls once in my life and it still felt better than a dull 25°C day here.
If you’re bringing me into this, I feel like I have the duty to inform you that you’re all enormous vaginas.
Tomorrow now has weather warnings for thunderstorms. Lovely. :moop:
It's hot. Fucking hot.
Which combined with my absolute hatred/fear of moths is not cool.
Plus one for Team Get a Grip.
I once sat for ten minutes in a parked car in Death Valley next to a giant thermometer that said 112, and when I started thinking 'hmm, it's a bit hot in here, might get out of the car' and stepped out, that 112 felt like a beautifully refreshing cool breeze. Must have been about 140 inside the car.
I've got a charity day outside tomorrow with my team where we sort out some primary school. It's going to absolutely murder us all.
You guys must be struggling. I'm in the highlands and my room is outrageously hot. I'm sweating lying on top of my duvet.
Zero sleep ahead.
The perils of working for a murderous corporation. My mate at *insert murderous corporation here* seems to spend more time building patios than he does enacting rapacious global capitalism.
Somethings got to replenish our souls before the burning inferno of hell.
Global warming brings hell to us.
I'm at a meeting all day in what should be a very nice setting, except for the fact there's no air con. My trousers are going to be delightful.
My leg sweat situation is outrageous even in cold months.
Nice to see Bam and Spikey's relationship finally REVEALED.
............what?
Blame the big nasty oil and gas companies for this heat wave. Everybody else is.
Green peace can do one, think of all the photosynthesis happening right now.
What's the logic? Does he like how they taste? Is it some sort of power play? Has he misinterpreted the food chain?
Does he have an official diagnosis?
It started out because it was funny, but now it's just easy money for him. It's well worth the fiver too so everybody wins--even Yev.
I couldn't do it myself, but ultimately the Chinese do it for nothing so its not really a big deal.
It actually started early on as just normal eating challenges (e.g. a whole box of Wheatabix dry) which has developed onto almost anything.
No doubt this geezer goes to Australia and dies
There was a lad in the year below at school who pissed himself in a lesson for a fiver. He tried to spin it as him being MENTAL, but nobody was having it.
Moths would be fine if they weren't so hectic. If they'd just chill out and cling to the wall somewhere I'd usher far more of them out the window.
He got lungworm and spent a decade in a coma before dying. Your mate needs to revisit his pricing model.
I had a mate at school who'd eat or snort pretty much anything for money.
I remember him telling me one day about how he'd been to the doctor's about his nose bleeds but they weren't sure what was cussing them. He seemed genuinely not to have considered it might be the grit salt and refreshers he'd been snorting until I pointed it out.
Good material for your UCAS personal statement though.
SItting about 25c up here right now. So hot. You southerners are going to melt.
RIP.
So good though. Gonna have an ice cream after lunch.
I'm about to go get my 2019 tan fully underway.
I'm going through Hitchin on the train and my phone says thirty-seven degrees lmao at Mahow.
'Only' 34c here.
At lunch I went to buy a tape measure at Homebase, and queued for 15 minutes behind people all buying hot weather related equipment: desk fans, massive floor fans, even a fully blown up paddling pool.
Wankers. This is England, come prepared.
Well, I took the easy way out and bussed it back home. Ten minutes on a boiling bus > an hour's walk in this humidity.
I'm sitting at home now realising neither were really good choices. The Durham 10k is going on in this. Expect deaths.
The lol ended up being on me when the rail network fell to pieces and I got to Hull eighty minutes late. No wonder hot countries don't have trains.
It's more how fast and direct the bus goes. The walk's closer to 45 minutes, to be honest.
It's still 32 here and it's clouded over so it's as muggy as house party round Mugbulls. Just rain you prick.
Rained for about 5 minutes then back to 36.
Currently raining and 30c. Just stood in the back garden in it laughing like some kind of maniac.
Our thunderstorms have now been pushed back to midnight. The cloud cover that was rolling in has vanished.
In Nice rn and 29. This is proper summer weather
23c at best. Nice but nowhere hot enough. 30c would be like perfect.
It's still blue skies here. FML.
Still 29 in Yorkshire and it would seem the thunderstorm has bypassed the region. :moop:
Lightning has kicked off and the temperature feels like it dropped about 10 degrees instantly.

It's windy as fuck here but warm enough that my 99 started to instantly melt and blew all over me.
Tuesdays storm was about 5 miles to the west of us. Tonight's, save for 5 minutes of rain, is just to the east of us.
Fuck off.
It's still 32 here approaching midnight what the actual fuck
I just saw the biggest moth I've seen in my life.
I don't think it's dead but I have no idea where it went (hopefully outside) and I've turned the lights off as I'm worried about another joining it.
It went down to 28 here, now it's back at 32 and it's as sticky as satan's bollocks. What fresh hell is this?
33% chance of storms hitting at midnight. Rain you bastard.
Fucker was hiding behind my TV and he came out when I moved. Thought I had him again but when I laid down he flew right into my face and after two minutes I finally whipped the prick with a tea towel taking him out for good.
21 today but hotter in the sun. Next month we should see the temp ramp up for 6 months of summer here in Brisbane.
No rain. What a tease. Well, I'll enjoy the last of the sun before it rains til Tuesday. Localised flooding. :moop:
Was planning a secret day on sunbathing at work today but it’s all clouds.
What is it with all you weird fuckers being scared of moths?
It's actually nice today.
It was decent until 4pm when the sky farted and shat its pants. I pity the poor sods down at Seaburn for the Air Show.
Stormy. It's been due for what feels like weeks.
Stormy would be class. I'm sick of rolling off my kacks like swimming trunks.
Well, I can't unread that.
It's absolutely fucking tipped down here. I assume it's getting it all out of its system so it can be blazing, glorious sunshine when I'm stuck in the flat on backshift next week. :moop:
Warm here everyday until late afternoon when it pisses it down hard.
Just started pouring and it's probably the worst day yet.
Ridiculous rain around 3pm here. Straight down, torrential and some mad thunder.
LOL it flooded again before I could move my stuff out.
6 inches this time. Had to be pumped out, but a lot of my shit is ruined.
Bet that's not the first time you've been pumped by 6 inches and had your shit ruined
Thumb. It. In.
10°
I've missed not having my kacks stuck to my balls before I even get in to work.
Bloody good today! I've been adding to my holiday tan.
35 degrees today and it is only the 6th day of spring.
This summer is going to bother so many blow ins from down south.
I’ve to head southwest for work tomorrow. I better pack some kacks.
Well that was a whole pile of fuck all.
https://pantalonz.files.wordpress.co.../05/isaac.jpeg
This is why people should only get their weather forecasts from the Met Office (or the Irish equivalent). The Met have been saying all week that in all likelihood it is going to be a minor affair and took great pains to say "IT IS NOT A HURRICANE". Yet all the papers and TV News lead with 'Hurricane Lorenzo: threat to life." It was always bollocks.
Opposite here. Met Eireann love the attention so have been banging the "SIGNIFICANT LEVEL EVENT" drum all week. Perhaps we should get it from the Met Office.
In fairness, you had a higher chance of it actually being an event than we did, but at best it was only ever going to be a strong autumn storm. As it is, it was barely a fart.
This bodes well for the morning.
Take the long way to Tipperary.
Yesterday the Wear was surprisingly close to breaking it's banks for the first time in about 7 years. We've got a weather warning of more rain forecast all of Thursday / Friday. :uhoh:
Trampoline on a motorway. Nice.
Who would loose such a thing?
This wind whistling up the side of the house can fuck off, the busy cunt.
We have a wind so famous that it has it's own name (La Bise, which translates as 'the kiss') but it hasn't started yet which is worrying. It basically means the mountains are too warm.
Yeah, climate change is real. We haven't had a proper winter since the Beast from the East year. We'll get no snow this year, guaranteed.
Speaking of which, is Australia still on fire? Twitter and the BBC have moved on.
Yes. It's been on fire since September.
We've already had some snow #climatechangemyth
It usually snows when I go on any form of Holiday and I'm at Centre Parcs next week so add a load of bread and milk to your shopping lists.
They reckon it may rain this weekend, and be unseasonal cold. 22-24 degrees predicted :(
Too right they are and Scummo has already said coal mining and our coal generators will keep going forward because China something something... climate change is still socialist propaganda and Cardinal Pell was stitched up by the god hating Victorian court system.
Boomer men and the Media HATE that Jacinda Ardern is visting Queensland on holidays to help promote the South East as a tourist destination.
We are run by demons and the Murdoch media is doubling down on everything.
I will say thought that when California was on fire last year, none of the foreign media covered it for longer than a day or two
Our lot didn't hang about for the Amazon or Arctic fires either.
This constant wind is boring now.
Some rumblings about the polar vortex making its way down into Europe next weekend around the 25th
There's meant to be a proper storm tomorrow. Lock up your trampolines fellas.
It’s hit the wesht here already, they had to cancel their European city of culture thing today in Galway. I think 5am is peak but it’s only an orange warning at the same time.
Windy as fuck here and loads of rain.
Seems like an annual thing so not sure what the fuss is about.
I noticed they've called a bunch of games off in Holland and Belgium due to this, which seemed a bit soft.
The Met are saying it's meant to be the worst (strongest and most wide spread) storm for 7 years. Gusts of 60-70mph expected across the entirety of England and Wales. Stronger in places. It's expected to ramp up again before hitting Holland. Who the fuck plays football in 70+ mph wind?
The rain has woken me up.
Hoping the trains get fucked over. It's Greater Anglia so there's probably a train in the Orwell by now.
Went out to do the groceries at 8. Fucking hell it’s ropey on the high junctions, especially in a van.
Put some ear plugs in last night and still didn't sleep a wink.
Storm at full tilt in West Yorkshire. River banks bursting, towns flooding, the usual.
Man City game called off. Is it really that bad? It's just a bit of wind.
Yes it's that bad.
It doesn't seem to be here. Woke up this morning and the worst damage was the black bin had moved to the other side of the drive but everything else intact.
I was going to watch some arrivals at Heathrow on youtube but apparently the weather's murdered their stream. :D
One fence panel gone this morning. I expect more to be missing when I get home.
Wind's getting up a bit here but the trampoline and all other children garden shit still unmoved.
3/10
Also, if the Sheffield Utd game goes ahead then City have simply called this off opportunistically as they don't fancy playing in the wind (not something they would be alone in doing).
Yep, definitely not because it could potentially mean a three week break since their last match, that's not something Man City would do. No, siree.
If Klopp had the chance to call off a game for wind he'd do it quicker than you could say gegenpress.
It's also not the club, let alone the manager, who decides whether games are called off so you can put your tin foil hats away for now.
Just seen a man waxing his car!
How did he get hair on it?
This has caused a transatlantic flight to arrive in New York 1hr and 20mins faster than its usual time, breaking the record for travel from one side to the other at just under 5 hours.
If you're going the other way it's adding on over 2 hours to avoid the worst of it as well.
That is nuts.
Not much happened where I live until about midnight, when the wind went cray cray. My bins are somehow still where I left them mind. Good bins.
It’s working now. Some are fairly hairy.
God knows what it's like for the passengers.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-eng...athrow-airport
Yeah, this is the best of 'em. Almost home and then gunned it out of there.
Alright, the wind can fuck off now.
It can't make up it's mind here, one minute the wind is blowing horizontal sheets of rain across the sky and the next it's bright sunshine and calm as you like.
The one good thing about Exeter was that the landscape was arranged in such a way that you could see both the current weather and the weather in an hour's time. Often they were both rain, but it beats Michael Fish.
Fair slap of snow in the south west here today. I was near booking a hotel in Limerick earlier but I got out.
Finally some proper snow up here.
I know I should be used to it by now but the 11 straight days of rain is starting to fucking annoy me.
Probably not the correct thread but for a few weeks now, there has been a super bright star that seemed out of place near the moon. Much larger and brighter than anything else in the sky. Turns out it is actually the planet called Venus.
And a storm every weekend for the last 11 years.
I moved into my flat in October and I don't think I've yet seen the outside balcony/terrace thing not drenched in water. It's been a joke.
Hopefully means a good summer to come, weather tends to get bored after a while.
It's killing my football teams season. We're basically running out of weekends to complete the season so will end up with back to back games (2*60 minutes v the same opposition) or midweek. One team in the league has 1 game left to our 9.
It’s a lovely morning here. Hopefully the storm stays in the west.
We're the bottom team here: http://fulltime-league.thefa.com/Pro...League=9031785
Few of my old classmates in that OH side. Those names were very good players in schooldays so guessing the standard is decent.
Enjoying the spread of goal averages in that league table. Economicals living up to their name, whilst Jimmy's mates see six goals a game. Simply must make it down to one of their games some time.
Old Hampts first team are great. They have David Gill's son at the back.
A picture from today with both mine and oh first team
https://i.ibb.co/7ynGp1P/IMG-20200229-WA0030.jpg
The library pitch. Didn't know they'd 4G'd it over. Used to be a nice cavern effect in there when we (not me, evidently) played the big cup ties against posh schools with the road to the left, girls' school behind you and kids in uniform lining the far touchline. In 2005 we had a 0-0 national semi final there on a soggy bog of a pitch and then got through the shootout (thanks to our keeper who went on to play National League) into the final at the Walkers Stadium, where we were torched by a better-resourced public school.
First team cricket square is right on the line of the nearest yellow player's head as we look - that's where players like Zafar Ansari and Toby Roland-Jones came up - and beyond that there are a shit ton of rugby pitches and the old boys' clubhouse way in the distance (no licensed bar, so they just keep cans of Fosters in a fridge). Next to that is the state school which in my day was rough and they used to throw flaming cans of deodorant and things like that over the fence at us. Probably lovely people now.
It's currently 2-1 to the mighty onions.
She’s raw here now.
Now it fucking snowing.
What a difference a month makes, it’s glorious here! Lay in the sun getting my end if the world tan sorted.
A hot one tomorrow, boys.
I think I’ll be participating in my three Teams meetings from the garden.
I've booked a days holiday. Barbecue will be out. Beer is ready in the fridge.
I've got quite a bit on at work this week for a change but I'm praying I can get on with it in the morning so that I can get out there early and burn like a Grenfell immigrant
I’ve started peeling like a twat today. I don’t think that’s ever happened before. It’s fucking horrendous.
Lovely tan though.
We've been decorating today too.
You call stripping your walls, peeling?
Peeling like a twat to be precise.
Looks like Wednesday's good for rain. The sun's mint but it's a bugger when you're indoors.
Get outside then you wet cunt.
Need some rain soon. I’m broke buying beer.
Wore a cap on Friday. It was warmer than anticipated.
I now have a Jim furyk tan* line.
Tan in this instance describing a fetching shade of red.
Biblical hail and thunder just now. Allah is cleansing the streets of COVID and ethnics. Judgement day is close.
Going to the shops today saw about 4 rain showers interrupted by really nice sunshine.
The weather is belting. Thunder and lightning galore.
Yeah, I headed out just as it began and embraced it for almost a constant 2.5 hours. Must have looked like I was having a meltdown after having had to take off my top but I look forward to the same tomorrow.
Aren't you in perpetual meltdown?
Listen, lads, form an orderly queue and I'll deal with you individually.
Giggles, I can't make sense of that so just have a 'suck your nan'.
Boydy, also suck your nan. Nah, don't, that ones just for comedic effect. Your point is valid, yeah.
It's been disgustingly humid here for a couple of days now so hopefully we've got some lightning to come too.
All the storms form over our heads but move inland to provide their relief. It's as muggy an Don's Mans down here.
Treasure that opening sentence for when you start your poetry anthology, it's truly beautiful.
:D it is.
There's been some proper thunder today, it's glorious.
It's been hammering it down here pretty much the whole day.
Hardly any proper storms for us, a couple of rumbles yesterday but just shitty rain today.
On Monday I think it was, I was driving home from work and there was briefly some rain which was by far the heaviest I have ever experienced. Instant flash flood on the road from dry, had to put the lights on and drop to about 15mph because of visibility and the sheer force of it. Only lasted 5-10 minutes. Totally bizarre.
Same here but on Friday afternoon.
Seriously need a storm here. France currently firing up.
Offshore's about to get a pasting.
https://www.lightningmaps.org
The dog is on his arse. We had to go and get him a fan.
I can see whatever Jersey has been getting, and can hear the distant rumbling, but it looks like it's missing us. :(
The wind is meant to change to a South Westerly later, so you might. It depends how long it all lasts and if it's all past you.
35 degrees in my boys room according to the baby monitor. I've no idea how hot it is in here, but we're at the front of the house with the sun still pouring in so it must be hotter than that.
Storm you slag.
It's horrible.
That fucking storm has ruined my plans for a London piss-up on Saturday ffs. Lidl's £12 fan is smashing it in the daytime but I'm not sleeping with that thing on in the background, should have got one with a sleep timer.
He means the noise not that it's going to kill him.
Looking at the radar, you Essex punks seem to have had a glorious storm which missed Surrey by a hair and now it's still humid before 7am and I want to hurt someone.
We have indeed. :huhu:
That said, it's still 20c and muggy as fuck. It's meant to get up to 28c and thunder it's bollocks off until midday. Making it 100% humidity is going to make it worse if anything.
Thunder and Lightning is cool, but I'd appreciate some fresher air from it.
Yeah this weather can fuck right off. Humid, dark, wet.
Loads of rain last night but not one bit of lightning. 19 driving to work this morning at 7 :moop:
Our thunder's supposed to hit at 5pm. Glad I'm not in the office when it hits.
The storm has arrived in Yorkshire.
Storm was meant to arrive at noon.
It's fucking disgusting here. Fan's doing fuck all. As am I.
It’s fucking rank. I’ll need a spatula to dislodge my sack from my leg.
I'm heading to the golf course after work. Wearing a black shirt which is probably in the top five life decisions I've ever made.
Rip
Looks to be finished. Weak effort imo.
Still waiting here.
It's all over the Pennines at the minute. Sky's getting darker so it might start kicking off.
Painting a bathroom with a small window in 30c heat is pretty shit.
Even shitter with a shit hand.
He's using a roller.
The trick there is never paint anything. There are professionals for things like that.
Oh the Slavs are alright now are they?
Just shat out the fish and chips from lunch and the bathroom is like a fishy pooey sauna. Housemate was planning to do cleaning work in there, as we move out imminently. I might advise just condemning the fucker.
It has finally started raining here.
Just a shower for us. :(
I came home to my west-facing flat at 10pm and inside you could boil an egg in the air. Utter joke.
You should all go to ASDA and get a 'Chillmax' fan, if they still have them. The air filter can be removed and frozen, and when you turn it on after having done that the relief is provides is incredible. The filter doesn't stay frozen for long in this heat, but it only costs about twenty quid so it's well worth the money.
Downpour. Here comes some sweet localised flooding.
Mad downpours here just stopping and starting every few minutes.
........
I assumed it was so as not to show colossal sweat patches.
21c here which is Scotland’s version of tropical.
Definitely warmer in the highlands than Aberdeen.
I think you get sweat patches from being out in 33 degrees or whatever it was in Jimmy's neck of the woods then, regardless of what you are doing.
Weather's weird as fuck here today. Hot, raining, sunny, needs to make its mind up.
Your country needs to invest in tank tops, especially now that the world is becoming more of a fireball every year
What a way to come out of the closet.
Just went from a sunny 32 degrees to a hailstorm in less than 10 minutes.
Thursday is turning into a nice starter before Friday's peak heatwave. I've just gone to book it off work and realised I've lost 1 day's A/L that we get due to Queen's bday cause I missed the deadline to book. Sickening.
Edit: They only went and extended the deadline due to COVID
I'm fucking melting.
Topped 40 on the downhill bit of my ride today and the wind still felt warm.
The north really needs to stop stealing all the storms.
I'd correct you on that one but we've just had a downpour coupled with a proper amber sky. Oooooh, there's the lightning.
Fucking hell it's hot.
I thought the lightning would have cleared things up a bit but I’m sweating like a rapist still.
I bought an air con unit for home...but sods law means we're at the in-laws this weekend.
The effect it has on people is ridiculous, so much openness, it's beautiful to witness.
Fuck that shit.
https://i.ibb.co/RS4D9PW/FB-IMG-1596783977204.jpg
Would love a bit of that right now. Fucking sick of this clammy shite.
Agree during the day but these hot nights can fuck right off.
There is no optimal, it depends what you're doing. A day at the beach, optimal is 28. A day doing house / garden work optimal is 21. If anyone but me is doing something nice, optimal is all the rain god can produce.
35* 75% humidity is the temperature of the Gods.
Humidity is shit.
It's great for physical activity.
Exactly.
Nah, I'm not having that, how is pouring with sweat at all times good for physical activity or, well, anything?
Maybe Australians are like Indians and don’t sweat.
He's just called you Prince Andrew Queeny, are you going to take that?
I've got loft insulation booked in for this afternoon.
Says its going to 32 degrees between 1 and 4.
I'm not putting the blinds up until midday when the sun has moved round. I'm still cooking mind.
The over night temperatures tonight.... :happycry:
If I slept on the kitchen floor in front of an open freezer door, is there any real downside? Other than my McCains being mash by morning.
I've probably said it every summer for the last 5 years, but I'm going to look into getting Aircon. It's getting more necessary with every passing summer.
We'll be melting to death in 30 years.
All those portable air cons on Amazon have crap reviews which is putting me off.
I've thought about buying one the last few heatwaves we've had.
£12 Lidl fan does the job, you fannies.
I looked into portable aircons a while back, and the consensus was the only ones worth getting are the dual hose ones, which are virtually impossible to find in the UK
That was brutal. Having a west facing bedroom can fuck right off.
This heat really can fuck off now.
Yeah. I'm out. Tomorrow is meant to be the last (but also the worst) day of it though. We had a massive downpour this morning and it just made it worse.
We’re due a thunderstorm for about 6 weeks now.
There's a chance of some thunder late tonight but then it's forecast until Monday with another week or so of rain.
With nightlife dead, this has basically confirmed I will be retiring to somewhere hot and I'm counting down the days. Imagine living out your days without this sun.
So fucking hot again.
The forecast where I live also keeps teasing rain and has been wrong every.single.day. for ages now.
Disgusting.
I was in Kew today and it was thirty-five degrees with no breeze. No wonder Arabs are stupid living in that.
Question, night-time in this heat...are you lot sleeping in with a duvet? A sheet? Or nothing on top?
Also neked or pants/boxers? Where's Taz when you need good poll.
FYI - I can't sleep naked, feel to vulnerable.
I beat the system by laying awake for most of the night.
Born winner mate.
Last night I fell asleep on top of the duvet in boxers only and it's the first time I can remember having done so, waking up exactly like that too.
Tonight feels hotter if anything.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nobebird-Pe...ap_m_rp_1_1_dc
This does the job for my room. I bought it during a sleepless night in May but I've been fine since.
How noisy is it?
Boxers only. Usually like a tshirt too but this is silly season obvs. The duvet's solitary purpose is to act as a cushion between the knees if I go fetal. Been smothered in sudocrem and unable to move for fear of disturbing cuts healing for past week but have to say, sleep hasn't been too bad.
Also, if you have a hot water bottle and you don't put it in the freezer over summer you're a fool. Ice packs in a pillow case work too.
If you have a hot water bottle you're a pensioner.
Only wastemen dismiss the hot water bottle (never thought of using it as a cold one though, levels).
Storm has well and truly started here. One hell of a light show.
If I sleep tonight it will be a minor miracle.
Had a glorious heavy downpour during the night, which has made this morning rather nice. But give it an hour or 2 and it's going to get 'close'. I'm in London and Reading today, going to be sweaty.
P.s. Realised I didn't clarify that I'm a boxers man and I need a duvet over me, even if only partially.
I haven’t changed my sleeping routine so it’s pyjamas and proper duvet and i wake up sweaty and happy.
Flooding galore in Aberdeen.
Luckily, I’m not there right now.
Unacceptable.
Despite the downpour tonight is going to be even hotter. :moop:
There were flashes of stuff and it did spit a bit here last night but the rain just didn't come. It's like the weather is broken.
Idon't think I've worn Pyjamas since before I started puberty.
T-shirt? Getting a bit overdressed there, mate.
I need something on my upper body.I get cold shoulders.
I sleep naked so as to frighten off any burglars.
Boxers are too tight to sleep in.
That really depends on the tightness of your boxers.
Oi oi, etc.
There was no miracle :(
And his boxers.
EDIT: Out the way, Mahow.
Also I wear pyjama shorts in the summer, trousers in the winter. No t-shirt.
I hate sleeping in anything but the pelt. Wouldn't even use a quilt these days.
Mahow is a surprise addition to the Manlet list.
Thunder has been forecasted to start 4 times so far today, still waiting though and they've pushed it back to 5pm :(
It's definitely cooler here (Brighton) today. Still fucking hot but it feels like things are heading in the right direction.
Thunder Update I've just heard rumblings in Paddington, London.
More updates as I have it.
The best thing about this weather is the women's tight and very little attire. Absolutely love it.
Was putting my washing on the clothes horse and heard a rumble, it's coming
I've been sleeping nude with two fans in the bedroom during the worst of this, no covers to speak of. I have been having recurring Jaws nightmares though so my subconscious obviously feels vulnerable.
Are you still watching Shark porn?
I always sleep in boxers, and almost always under the duvet. I don't like a thin sheet, it doesn't feel right. Usually I lie on top of the duvet and read until I'm cool, then climb into the duvet. Last night though I couldn't bring myself to do it as it was too hot.
It's 29c here and too hot (for me) to sit in the garden. I went on a 30-odd km bike ride instead to feel the breeze. The next week or so is forecast early twenties and quite cloudy, which sounds bliss.
We have rain!!!!!!
In Morecambe they had several hours of torrential rain, thunder and lightning (the other evening, I'm not sure which one).
Caused a bit of flooding, apparently.
The thunder and lightening was absolutely glorious last night
Fucking melting up in the true north so you soothmoothers must be struggling.
Weird mist this morning which has been burnt through and glorious sunshine prevails. Was supposed to be raining all day too, and the only drops to speak of are my literal drips of sweat.
No one has ever spooned comfortably.
It was sunny when I left Perth yesterday on the train. They’ve had 5 weeks
Of rain in a few hours and the train station is flooded.
Would have preferred that weather today though as hungover when it’s sunny is not fun
Out of my east window I can see the sunny skies and out of my west window I can see the storms, tantalisingly near yet so far, drifting in the other direction and taking my hopes and dreams with them.
The awkward arm goes up under the mrs' pillow.
Handing out Manlet points earlier today was our Spikey.
Well the rain lasted for about an hour and it's now back up to 33 degrees and humid as fuck.
The hour or so was pleasant while it lasted :(
Half an hour rain here and back to operation desert storm again.
Definitely going to wake up pink tomorrow. :(
Still absolutely nothing here and my Weather app has moved back any chance of rain to 2am. Slags.
My phone is saying the temperature has dropped yet it feels as hot as it was at it's peak today.
Rain is forecast to hit soon though.
Beyond being vague and saying there will be storms "in the South" or "in the Midlands" I really don't think they have a clue. They've been forecasting storms here all week and we've had nothing.
The sky is the strangest colour here. Can also hear thunder so hopefully we get some rain. Get a nice cool night then get the heat back in the day would be perfect.
It's a bit of warm you fannies. Put a fan in your room.
My flat retains heat forever, because the windows don't open very far and it's so well-insulated. The air just sits there, and fans just blow the same warm air around. It's almost better to go and sit in the car with the air con on.
Great in winter though as you barely have to use any heating.
The rain that was forecast to be coming soon still has yet to arrive.
Our next possibilities are midnight and 9am.
:D
I’ve just got rained on.... in bed!
It’s so cool now though.
C'mon, Mike, we don't need to know about your piss fetish.
It's still less disturbing than what's going on in Baz's bed. He's probably balls deep in his Mr Tumble PJ's by now.
Spring is early again this year. The nerds are predicting that Brisbane may have back to back summer months where everyday is over 30 degrees.
Be a shame if someone flicks a cig out the window.
Non-stop rain for next week at least. Dear lord, what a sad little life TTH, I hope you're happy.
I'll believe it when I see it.
We had a quality storm last night. It was setting off car alarms and next doors kids were screaming while mine slept through it.
You're all soft as shit.
Also, boxers only, no cover. A/C on for 20 mins before bed. Oscillating fan if it's a particular warm one.
You'll recall there's no A/C in the United Kingdom.
I'd say a lot of dry throats people are getting these days are because of constantly having to have the AC on in the car.
A cool cloudy 17deg. here in the South East this morning.
It read as you informing us what to do from your perma-humid Asian cubby hole.
If there was air con in homes here no one would want rain ever, except farmers and whoever.
'Perma-humid Asian cubby hole' sounds like the sort of videos Taz downloads.
That would be 'Perma-wobbling Ebony cubby hole'
Dickheads, I'm right here, quite rude of you to bypass me like this.
Was I wrong?
I bet Taz loved being ignored as a child.
Bet you loved being touched up, you dirty bugger.
And there's us complaining it was hot...
Death Valley hits 54.4c in what could be hottest temperature ever recorded on earth
http://news.sky.com/story/death-vall...earth-12050976
I'm surprised the record isn't hotter than that. Isn't mid to high 40s pretty routine in some parts of the world?
Yeah fair shout. Maybe the 40c range is common but 50's does sound stifling. Imagine breaking down in your car along that road. F that.
It’s fire season again in California, love to see it
Will they throw people in prisons at the fires this time around?
What's the crack with there being a 'named storm' in August? Is that normal?
Not normal, but doesn't really seem warranted to me. It's a bit blowy but nothing to write home about.
Isn't it just raining? I can't see any wind.
About 35mph here. Fuck all really.
It's pretty windy here, although not exactly life threatening.
Blustery maybe even gusty here and we have a tree or two down but that's not exactly unusual.
The wind's picking up now. Next doors garden table has just gone over. RIP
Lads, at least spice these up with some [fictional] upskirting tales.
'Garden table' is what I call their busty, 18 year old daughter with an underwear allergy.
Our back garden is flooded. Mental amount of rain.
We had that a couple of hours ago. I can't remember it ever being as heavy for a prolonged period. Mostly that kind of rain power goes away in a few minutes.
I just stood at the backdoor watching it creep upwards. Gutters completely overflowing. Had to go out in it and move the rabbits hutch up on to the grass in the end.
Denver's gone from 36 degrees celsius yesterday to 1 degree and snow today. And about a couple of hours ago I just had my first ever experience of an earthquake. Tell your loved ones you love them.
What has you in Denver?
It was on the Weather this morning. Assuming he saw it there.
And there was me praying for him.
Yeah the earthquake was MK-based.
30 degrees in Brisbane atm.
Jamestown South Australia atm.
https://i.ibb.co/1mssB28/Screenshot-...6-Facebook.jpg
Feels like we skipped Autumn and went straight to Winter here today. 7c and a dickead of a northerly wind.
31* at 8pm.
Lager is going down a treat.
It's no good if it's so accessible. What you want is 4 hours of 12 degree sun during the working day so your only exposure is when you gaze away from your computer screen momentarily to consider if this really is the life you worked towards.
Part of me has always wondered if having a secure network of friends and family, cultural roots in the locality, and a mature flexible economy are actually worth this shit and whether simply uprooting and becoming a golf caddie for 3 euros a day in Portugal - but getting sunlight - is actually the way to go.
Moon looking wild.
Just temp gunned my couch and letter box at 430pm.

https://i.ibb.co/Zgft6Zm/20201204-162856.jpg
It's fucking snowing here.
Farking lager weather atm
Edit: Ill be doing temp gun updates over the summer for my own ammusment
Just make sure you're checking the Chinamen as you come across them.
The windscreen of my van is gunning at 0.5.
Did you own a “temperature gun” before Covid?
A touch of snow in Yorkshire. A White Christmas (is this still PC?) may be on the cards.
"Fresh developments in the case of The Queensland Prowler today..."
Snakes
Do you breed rare morphs for profit? My mate does that, supposed to be decent coin in it.
Just localities and yeah the money is very good.
I'll be honest, domesticating a land of deadly spiders and snakes is the most Australian response.
Unless it’s this spider.
It’s snowed!
Building a snowman without gloves is cold. So I’ve given up.
Toggle Spoiler
It's -1 here and meant to be snowing later today. Woop. :moop:
I’ll probably get it quite bad. It’s not snowed for two weeks and there is still some snow laying in places. We’re meant to get it from 3pm right through to 7am today and then more tomorrow throughout.
Opposite here, double figures when I got up this morning.
Best snow we've had in years up here today, I would say. The general decrease in road activity seems to have left the roads in a particularly treacherous state too. I went for a walk to the shop earlier and the few people I saw out in their cars were getting themselves in all sorts of trouble.
It's been disgusting here. Hasn't stopped raining all day. Garden is waterlogged and the dog keeps walking mud through the fucking house. :moop:
Have you told it to stop being a twat?
We got about a foot of it overnight but rain took over most of the day. Still a couple inches but mostly slush underneath the layer on top
Snow, sleet, rain and gale force winds today. :moop:
There is no weather worse than ice cold rain.
It was like that all night here but nice and sunny now, time to do nothing in it.
Rain's washed most of ours away which is grand. The place was iced all the way to the shops on Saturday.
I can't now remember a time when it wasn't snowing.
We're meant to get a pasting from 4am until June according to my weather app. Which means only one thing;
https://i.pinimg.com/originals/4f/b9...e05e3f9ba1.png
Waterlogged. I bet the river is fucking BREACHED.
We’re on a snow promise next week but it’ll be like Spikey above yet again.
Round here it just says '0 degrees and dark' for the next week. I might quit my job and stay at home under the duvet for the full 168 hours.
Nah, just wear a coat indoors like a pro.
I thought you lot were perma-topless?
Fat Geordies, aye. I'm too skinny to get away with that. And there's no value in a storage heater next to a draughty window.
It's been constantly rain and snow here for a week and the foreseeable. It's fucking shit.
Tit Tuesday is always great as well. When the summer wardrobe is collectively accessed is glorious.
It feels like 40 plus to be honest.
https://i.ibb.co/L18Lkmj/Screenshot-...28-Weather.jpg
It is actually snowing here, surprisingly. The ground's too wet for it to settle though.
Been years since I last saw snow like this. Settling fast now.
Man it is still 34* at 7:22pm.
We have no snow again. That said, I’m off tomorrow so it would be wasted.
Just a sprinkling for us.
Snow is an utter bastard when you have to go anywhere in it, but it has made the kids days today. Making snowmen, snow angels, having snowball fights over the fence with next door. It's been a good day.
It's still snowing now though. Hasn't stopped all day.
Hang on, you actually have snow on the ground? Here it's just been in the air.
It didn't settle in the streets, but we have about 5 inches in the garden.
We've had loads here. Probably 2-4 inches settled and it's still been going all day. City looks lovely
Had decent snow two weeks ago on the sunday, a flurry a week after and nothing today, but is apparently meant to snow quite heavily Thursday/Friday. Don't think we'll get a Snow Day though :( .
It managed to settle on the pavement and roads overnight and it's still going strong now. What a glorious win for Team Work From Home this is.
We only have a bit of weird powdery stuff, like someone has dropped a load of cocaine out of a low flying plane.
We've got a proper layer. Looks fantastic.
Been snowing since last night and it's thick.
I said to the Mrs that it was really powdery yesterday. It made snowman building a bit of an arse. I think it's because *puts boring weather nerd hat on* it's coming from Scandinavia. They get dry, powdery snow over there and it's the legitimate reason why they're able to just plough the shit out of the way and crack on, rather than us just being shit.
Our snow is normally the wet stuff that melts and re-freezes and it's practically impossible to plough which is why we don't generally have them and why "THE COUNTRY GRINDS TO A HALT EVERY TIME THERE'S A SINGLE FLAKE OF SNOW!!!1" *takes boring weather nerd hat off*
If the hat's on the hatstand, wear it.
There’s about 3/4 inches here but we’re now back at amber and yellow warnings until Wednesday which means there will be fuck all more. We’ve had snow warnings every week for nearly a month and it ended up flooding instead.
It’s snowing. Dark Sky says it’s only got around 12 minutes left in it though.
Pelted it down again :
https://i.imgur.com/lSsq7F7.png
It's just relentless sleet here. The absolute worst kind of weather.
Day 3 and it's still snowing alot. The pavement has become it's usual icy mess. It can fuck off now.
https://pasteboard.co/JNxyrmt.jpg
Up to my shins in the grass. Not bad, probably the worst I’ve seen it as living just off the beach meant getting fuck all and never having a snow day in my life.
The forecast says seven degrees on Sunday. We will all say 'I was there'.
Every time we have snow round here I manage to be on holiday. Going right back to March 2013 when we were in Cuba. Since then we missed the 2018 "bEaSt" by being in The Canaries and even last years single day of snow by being at Centre Parks.
I always thought I liked snow and felt a bit hard done by about it. I was wrong. It's fun for a day but this is absolutely shit. Having the kitchen in the extension off the lounge, with no door in between, doesn't help. It's absolutely fucking freezing. The heating is no match for it.
Let me tell you, the current bullshit is nothing compared to 2018 and the mighty Beast. We shall never see its like again.
That year went on to be one of the great summers as well. Here's hoping.
My weather app reckoned it was gonna get down to -12 at some point this week but it looked like it's eased off now. It's not even snowing any more, just cold enough to keep everything mostly in place
The issue is usually after the snow. It’s always quite moderate temperature wise when it’s snowing. We’re due ‘feels like’ -10 tonight and tomorrow
Thunder snow
That was sensational. Whole place came to a stop for what felt like weeks. Dundee United had a game called off for like 6 weeks in a row because it was a danger to walk to the ground heh
Thought Spikey was talking bollocks about the fluffy snow but have now experienced it. Apologies.
It's been absolutely pelting with snow here since last night. Not sure I've ever seen the likes of it before in Glasgow.
Ok it's pretty mental now, like almost 2ft in a day...
The main road in Broughty Ferry is a disgrace :D
Just when I think ours is starting to melt, it dumps a fresh layer.
Roughly another foot over night. :moop:
I've never seen that temperature in my life.
That was one of the warmer ones in 2010.
Just -5 here. :moop:
Hark at you for talking about false and drama.
My boiler decided to switch off overnight. What a night to choose. Back on now but can’t get warm today.
Boiler has broken and it’s -8. :D
Itll be the same as mine - condensate pipe frozen.
Mine goes to my guttering so I’ve tried pouring some boiling water in there but it seems to be frozen further down the pipe and can’t access it from the loft, so sorta scratching my head. Will try blasting it with a hairdryer from the outside tomorrow cos wasn’t enjoying being up a ladder in the dark with a kettle in one hand and a torch in the other. Cold night tonight!
I've encountered various cold scenarios before and have never found a better remedy than simply putting on all the clothes I have, at the same time.
I would hate to be a cold tattie. I don’t understand why everyone isn’t wearing shorts in the house all year round.
Yep. Three layers and a coat. Although it's only because the storage heater will never heat the front room up.
A fucking coat? Get a grip.
If you saw what my hands were like a month ago, you wouldn't be saying that.
I always wear two pairs of jeans. [/Boom]
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotla...ntral-55950942
I love that he just took out a scoop from the front windshield and that was enough.
Soz.
I'm sure we've all done the peeping through the gap in the condensation thing but that is a different level.
Finally got some snow here today.
Ours is finally starting to fuck off. Still -2 though.
First day above freezing for more than a week tomorrow and some good old fashioned British rain.
Yeah, what's left is some pretty sketchy ice. There's some snow still on the exposed bits which actually feels good to stroll along.
Just cold today but tomorrow will start to warm up and raining so last day of this snow cover:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EuHCqvwW...g&name=900x900
I went for a walk on a lake earlier
It's called swimming lad.
That western sun is punishing.

I like how you took two readings - one for Yevrah and Mike, and the celcius one for the rest of us under 40s.
I like how you just carry that thing around. Does it give off warning sounds when you reach Chernobyl levels?
It's so he can check any shrimp on any barbie.
I joke with my brother about how mental I must look when I temp check the road and the footpath.
Im already a senile old man.
Edit: It's actually a really handy tool when cooking with charcoal.
That's bordering on can weather.
The weather this past week had been peak early Spring stuff. Lots, lots more of it please.
18c
Probably snow next week
It's glorious today.
It's glorious today.
It is.
Predictably it's turning to shit for the bank holiday.
We’ve got snow nest week
I'll be doing a barbecue soon
Trying to work out if it will be nice enough for a BBQ at 7:30 when the kid's in bed.
From shorts and T-shirts to snow in 24 hours.
Yeah, I was caught off guard when hurrying out of bed to the barbers. 1c and 20mph winds with a hint of snow (dunno how, it’s been clear blue skies all day) and there I was stood outside for 30 mins in shorts and a polo shirt and stiff nips
Pics.
I've got a sun tan from all the mooching about I've been doing.
Wearing shorts to work today.
Fuck off.
Skies are clear blue like a summer's day here but this cunting arctic wind is fuelling my long COVID circulation problems.
It's weird out there today. Trees are in bloom, the sun is out in a cloudless sky and It looks like we should be getting the paddling pool out... but it's fucking freezing.
Edit: snap
Looks like there's barely any wind for the next three days so lets av it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQwYiPwkwbc
Snow doesn't belong in April.
Anyone else getting snow?
We had some before. It's just not British,
It somehow snowed here whilst being 7c earlier. :cab:
It’s been flipping between sunshine and snow for about a week here.
There was a 15c swing overnight last Sunday I think.
Makes for difficult temperature control during mooching.
30 today with a low of 12 tonignt. :(
That sounds perfect.
Would have been nice to have a full-blown heatwave for my week off but I'll take this intermittent sun. Looks like back up to 15 degrees sunshine from next week onwards
Bike ride tomorrow. Pray for clear skies and a hen do at the pub beer garden.
Is anyone else experiencing minor storm conditions? Absoutley dreadful.
It's been torrential all day and, I shit you not, snow's forecast.
The weather has been utter shite this year. Fucking frost in May? And now a storm comes rolling through like it's October. Fuck off.
20 by the weekend, have faith.
We'll get 12. Curse our cleaner air and greener fields.
Wind here has uprooted a small tree in our garden which is now lying flat on the ground and triggering the garden light sensors.
Load of hail here now.
Got the barbecue out today. It's not really warm enough, but I've never made it through to May without having one before. This Weather is a disgrace.
God is annoyed that we crushed his virus.
Currently 21 degrees. :happycry:
This weather is amazing but the night times need to fuck off. British houses weren't designed for this weather.
Our bedroom having massive, west facing, bay windows is a particular pain in the cunt. The sun pours in from 2pm until gone 9pm at this time of year. It's easily 30+ in here even with the windows open and the curtains shut all day. :happycry:
Stfu.
I guess you could say it's like a sauna in here.
Yep, every day at the moment I'm coming home to a sweatbox and there is no way to alleviate it as the windows don't open properly.
Great in the winter, mind.
Yeah, my landing's the hottest spot in the house and it's the one window I can't open.
My cunt neighbour (of solo firework display fame) has lit a bonfire just in time for the rain to turn up. This has caused an unreal amount of smoke and we've now got to have the windows shut. :moop:
It was meant to be thunderstorms and rain here. Instead it decided to be 29c.
It's coming. Shitting it down here.
It's here now but not too much.
Is it going going to stop pissing it down at some point? My weather app says no.
Anyone got a spare boat?
We got 25* at midday today which makes up for sub 10* just before sunrise.
I'd be pissed but between work and Euros, there ain't no real purpose to sun so as long as it stays muggy and I can mince about in shorts we good. Get this shit out the way for some record-breaking August highs hopefully.
I hope you cunts who complained because the heat made you softer than you already were are happy now. 14 fucking degrees on the summer solstice. Fucking fuck the fuck off.
Going to smell all the beautiful flowers that are in bloom?
While I'm riding the moaning horse, this weather has now reached ludicrously shit levels. It's fucking July next week.
https://www.woodentoyshop.co.uk/medi...o/cord_h2a.jpg
Back into the 20s next week. I was actually chuffed to see rain for the first time in what felt like weeks.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-57805391
I drove home through a couple of these earlier. Absolutely mental. Went from dry to completely flooded in the space of 200-300 yards. At one point I lost all visibility for about ten seconds as the wake from cars travelling in the opposite direction was washing over the windscreen. Then went for about a mile in first gear trying to chop my way through the standing water as it continued to lash it down. After crawling over my Thames crossing of choice, I saw why it had been so slow, as on the other side of the bridge the 'landing' area was completely submerged, and a Suzuki saloon seemed to have capsized. At that point it was every man for himself trying to cut a route through about two feet of water around the stricken Japanese chugger. Next thing I know, there's an ambulance car behind me with the blues and twos on, I pull aside to let it past, only for the damn thing to plough into a huge body of water at high speed and end up almost beached.
Low gears and low speed are your friend.
I'm sure there must have been worse summers than this, but I'm struggling to recall one. Absolutely shit weather for 6 months now, bar a few days here and there.
Oddly enough it should turn as this week goes on. Weekend glorious.
Yeah and I’m at a fucking baptism on Sunday. 27 degrees of glorious sunshine and I’ve gotta wear a shirt and tie in a sweaty church.
The weather in May was just rain but it’s been good for June and this next week is just sun and 24/25c which is lovely. Always feels warmer too as no wind now I’m not on the coast
March and April were top drawer, and most of May seemed to be as well. Maybe that was our lot.
What a day today is. The sun is BLAZING, the tunes are BANGING and the beers are BELTING. Have a good one boys. If you don’t finish today without sunburn/tan you’ve gone wrong somewhere between waking up and going to bed.
Sweltering. Get me in the Rhine.
I’m hoping to have contracted sun stroke by 3pm so I don’t begrudge going inside to watch rugby.
27 degrees. The breeze does nothing :D
It's not that hot you tarts
Look, we take what we can get up north.
This weekend has been amazing, but tonight can fuck off. :moop:
It's not that hot you tart.
Yeah, it's gonna be an every window and door open and all fans on kind of night.
Over it.
We are reaching peak scorch on the tart-o-meter.
I'm melting. I can't handle this.
How is Northern Irelands maximum temperature record only 31c? There's places inside the Arctic Circle that get above that in summer.
I'm loving it. I'm making bales this evening and then rehydrating with amounts of booze.
Making bales? As in of Hey? I did not expect that of you :D
Play bales or show bales?
https://i.redd.it/tqmg4cz3rdez.jpg
The intermittent clouds are a bit of a godsend today.
Back to absolutely peak 24/25 here today, with a bit of sea breeze. Perfect.
73 square ones
Why were you making them? Bit of cash in hand or do you own a farm you've not mentioned?
I’ve a field now, obviously a small one because there was only 73 on it. I wanted it cut and the brother in law wanted some bales to feed his cattle over the winter so it worked well as nobody needed to pay anyone. I’m absolutely fucking baked though, sprayed my head with factor 50 and it didn’t make a pick of difference. 31° here at the minute.
It’s also very difficult to get a square baler these days apparently. They were all I ever seen as a young fella.
Swish. What made you get a field? Are you setting up your own Barley farm for Giggles Brewery?
It’s at the back of the new gaff, about an acre. I’d thought about the barley, I’d love to do it, but I’ve no means of malting it without getting into big enough spend. So I’ll convert most of it into garden and vegetable plots in time for spring.
I can get brewing grains locally that were grown about 10km away anyway.
You can do round bales sooner after it's been cut is the main reason I would think.
Think it’s just handiness for handballing them around over the winter. Can just fuck one into the shed rather than having to pull bits off with a grape.
True, although you've lost me with 'grape'. I suppose the bigger ones you also don't have to move them at all because you can just pile them up outside and they're fine.
That’s the too long I spent up in Boydy country still in my head. I mean a sprong, though it’s most likely a fork over there in most parts.
I've never heard that term before but assumed that was what it was from the context. I don't spend much time in the company of farmers though.
Temperature has finally dropped off and there's a cool breeze. Scenes.
Yep it’s lovely.
What a word Sprong is, I feel like even without the context I'd have a decent idea of what that was.
I’d 6 bottles of home brew and slept like a baby.
Booked to take the kids to the Zoo tomorrow without checking the weather :face:
Thunderstorms all weekend apparently.
What the fuck?
It's the same here. What in the actual fuck?
It's the British way. For every 4 days of sun, we get 8 weeks of flooding and an asteroid.
You always seem to have class weather over there.
I had outdoor things to do for three weekends in a row and it pissed with rain every single day, the next weekend was lovely but I had a stomach bug and spent most of it sweating and throwing up. Now I'm better and have more outdoor things to do it's going to fucking rain again.
Just had a fairly epic electrical storm here, along with reasonably (although not damagingly) big hail stones.
I took my duvet out if its cover last week (because why would you need one of those) and have woken up absolutely fucking freezing this morning. Still, it’s not raining as it was supposed to be.
The rain has come here but unfortunately not accompanied by a temperature drop. It's fucking awful.
It's weird, the forecast (which I was completely unaware of until Spikey broke the news of his zoo trip in the rain) was meant to be bucketing down all weekend and while it did rain, that definitely didn't happen.
I'm meant to be playing golf tomorrow (should be hilarious, I'm so bad) so if it could hold off a bit longer that would be useful.
The forecast was completely wrong here too. Had a couple of showers but otherwise was fine all weekend. Shit today though. Cold and grey. It's fucking July. :moop:
It looks ok ish here now and the forecast now says almost no chance of rain today, with highs of 24. I'm on annual leave from tomorrow, when it looks like it's pissing it down again. Brilliant.
I think all the rain ended up in London. The thunder and lightning was pretty epic for hours.
Stratford Station looks mental.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ind...e97a1cf7%3famp
It has begun. Thunder, lightning and absolutely bouncing down with rain. Weather app says it's not going to stop until Friday either.
Really wish I'd cut my grass this morning.
Yorkshire appears to have completely missed this. I've had the thunderstorm warning for days now, yet nothing.
Think I just heard some thunder here.
:D
You joke but this happened today:
https://belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/...-40693791.html
The storm had finally arrived.
This weather
26/27c in a few hours. We love global warming
This storm has caught me off guard. Every window (skylights) open in the gaff. That fresh air though.
Still pretty good here today. The wind is amazing.
I think it's the end of shorts season lads.
Yeah it’s great. This morning was 9° down on last week.
Can confirm the hot women in London have commenced hibernation until May. Sad times. No more erections on the underground for the time being.
Last night was the first time I broke out my duvet in months (I was using a blanket) although I probably should have gotten it out a night or two before.
Still not cold enough for the heating though.
Shorts season is all year round. legs don’t get cold
Waff has it right. The fleece & shorts combo is undefeated.
I didn't know Manc was a Geography Teacher.
Fleece
Fleece and shorts can only be worn by people who work from (but do not drive) a van, with a maximum vocabulary of 65 words, 5 of which are dahhhhhlin'.
Short season is March - October regardless of weather.
Depends what you're up to. If you're going to be inside, then shorts always.
Temperature got up to 36.6* today making today the hottest day in October since 2004.
Wish I had a chance to temp gun the letter box today. :moop:
I like to imagine that second sentence ended midway through because he's gone FUCK IT and run off to find a way to temp gun the letter box no matter what it takes.
:D U no dat is happen.
I think you should check your own temperature, QL.
It's my shitty found going off in my pocket.
It unlocks and goes off on whatever I have had open.
I've pocketed dialled the police several times.
When I opened my phone again it had the page open as if I had just typed a message out.
That last one was me editing and posting what I thought was just 1 repost. I need to go for a walk I'm mental.
This on the day Queensland starts having its own time zone, I think there is some rupture in the continuum.
Queensland Standard Time.
Speaking of time zones, did the EU ever get off their holes and end this clock changing rubbish?
It’s so oddly warm outside tonight. Walked out the door and felt like I was hit with a heat. What on earth is it still 18c for?
Wafffle doggy.
Good night out Quince?
:D
Just a few a few tipples.
I wasn't sure if that was a request.
Enough of the mischamischaracterisations tyvm.
You bunch of nonces.
It is suspiciously warm here today.
What is it making you suspicious of?
Oh, y'know ... them.
Big Weather.
Met Office. Met Police. Really makes you think.
Suspicious like it is lulling me into a false sense of security before turbo winter.
33* at the moment and my letter box is 55*.
Massive lol to all the covid refuges that fled Melbourne and Sydney for Brisbane this year as the heat is brutal for first timers.
It was saying 15 degrees during the night and currently but I'm fucking freezing. Carrying a slight cold so that must be it but jesus, I am not prepared for winter.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-new...-snow-25431152
Black Friday more like White Friday amirite :arry:Quote:
It has been predicted that up to six inches of snow will fall on November 26.
Not even single digits and I'm on the ropes here. Drop in temperatures and shitty non-stick teflon snowfall due next week too
It was 2c yesterday in Poland but it felt like it was into the minus digits with the wind.
It's a bit warmer today but not by much.
This wind is mental. Never been in a red warning before. trampolines and caravans all over the gaff
I should've brought the wheelie bin in before it started.
The humidity is really sorting us out at the moment.
:
The women lining up at the local wanker brunch places were sweating all over the shop. :D
I may go out shortly and see how many roof tiles survived, that was brutal. We have absolutely no shelter up here.
One piece of snowfall around here and i had things i needed to do
Toggle Spoiler
It was bad enough down south (sounded like I was being home invaded) so Christ knows what it must have been like for you boys in Scotland/Ireland.
I'm stunned we didn't lose power. It was sparking up the lines.
Bin status: Tipped and the lid's snapped off. :D
There isn't much better than walking the dog in the snow. Not a fucker about.
Wind is gone and back to muck and rain.
This weather is beyond grim.
Is Barra the female version of Barry? It can fuck off either way.
I've got to help a mate carry a fridge and a sofa out of his flat at 6pm, just as the winds peak here. 50-60mph winds are not sofa carrying conditions. :moop:
The Met Office and their Irish and Dutch counterparts have divided up storm naming amongst themselves and this is what we ended up with:
https://www.met.ie/cms/assets/upload...se-image-1.jpg
It is an all time classic though Ian.
Pre-millenium bug :D
The gap in time between WW2 ending and when I was born is now a fair bit less than the gap in time between when I was born and now. :eyemouth:
I'm not at that stage yet....
My birth is closer to the Napoleonic Wars than it is to my death. Or, at least, here's hoping.
How old are you hoping to live to?
Other than "too old."
This one was British named apparently. UK Met Office involved too.
https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/n...-41123992.html
It's a shame we'll probably not get to see Storm Pól. Sounds like a Norse god.
What a lovely time for someone to break down on the A1 and back all the traffic up for four miles. :moop:
I can’t stop thinking about Blindboy’s “a kid named Barra shit in a ball pool” Barra story whenever it’s mentioned
Mid arvo and my bench top is currently 33*. :cab:
The western sun is going to melt my thongs into the footpath come January/February.
Lol having the Summer Olympics here in ten years time what a stupid decision.
I’d love to experience a Christmas with that sort of weather just to see what it’s like. Make a nice change from rain.
It's nice but I dont know any different.
TTH Wife Swap 2022 - Giggles & Queenslander's Christmas Carol.
It’s mean to be snowing on Christmas Day here and for 5 days after. Don’t think I’ve ever seen it snow then.
It's fucking snowing. :moop:
I'd a cunt of a job getting the van out in it this morning.
-17 tomorrow and 30cm of snow on Sunday. I just went to do my shopping. I will not go out until Monday the earliest.
Fuck shoveling snow.
One of the best things about the UK, or at least the south, is (presumably because it's a wee island) the temperature resolutely refuses to go below about minus 2, even in weeks-long cold snaps. I can't remember it ever being below minus 4, even once.
In 2010 it did, but yeah it is pretty great.
That said, I've had to de-ice the car every morning for about 2 weeks now and that can fuck off. More global warming ASAP.
The start of last year in Scotland, we were snowed in pretty much for 2 weeks.
-18 this morning and my heater cannot keep up. It was nice meeting you.
Where the fuck is it -18?
Quite common over there away from the coasts. Too cold all winter, too hot all summer. Mental country.
In the great state of Pennsylvania.
I don't know how the Amish and their no technology nonsense manage.
Is that in real money or Fahrenheit?
I also always thought you lived in Texas for some reason.
If it's Fahrenheit then he's not joking. RIP indeed.
https://static.diffen.com/uploadz/th...-C-f-lossy.png
Celsius, It was like 2 Fahrenheit I think.
I think Foe spent some time in Texas, right? I have been there, but never lived there. The trajectory so far has been Florida, New York, Missouri, Pennsylvania.
I have yet to live in a properly insulated house, but I hope others are better. Not sure though, since it is all built of wood for some reason. You just have the heater running 24/7 half of the year and the AC the other half. I probably get to turn it off like five weeks per year during the glorious Fall days.
The wind is running riot in Yorkshire.
I can only imagine the triggering that 'Storm Malik' will be doing.
That's what's wrong with this country, we let these foreign storms come over here and cause property damage that could have been done by a good old fashioned blustery day. It's a fucking disgrace.
We need to be turning them back at Calais.
Given the above list of storm names (and I thought the idea was that they go up the alphabet so how are we at 'M' already?) how have we ended up with Storm Malik?
Anyway, if we were going off our list, and we were at M, how the hell are we saying Méabh - mave like wave? Meeb! It's probably Simon or something.
Storm Muhammed.
Storm Eunice looks like it's going to be a laugh. I've got to drive to Basildon and back in it tomorrow afternoon too. :moop:
The tree in my parents back garden got blown over.
Supposed to be living the dream on my own this weekend while the wife drives down south but the red weather warning is hampering my 48 hour regression session.
The forecast says 70mph winds here tomorrow morning :D
That's like hurricane force?
I hope it doesn't stop you getting to the office Jim.
The wind was ridiculous here yesterday, surprised the house is still intact really.
We’re orange here for the moment but up where I am I’ll be expecting what they’re getting on the south coast.
It's coming now by the looks of it. Over 170km/h there.
Are lighthouses manned these days? Because if so, fuck that.
We had a red one a few weeks ago. Brought loads of trees down and killed two.
2 Fence panels down. :moop:
My wife went Ikea yesterday so now I’ve a load of cardboard blowing around the garden. Hopefully the wind picks up and it blows it over a few fences.
How on earth will you cope?
Sorry for sharing weather related things in the weather thread lads.
That shoddy looking fence deserves it. Are there no plinths? :cab:
Yeah, deleted. Not sure why I thought this would go any different tbf.
I think it's a disgrace that you even have a garden or live in a place with weather. Fucking prick.
I wanna see Spikey's fence :(
In the front garden there is a load of ripped up cardboard (must have flown over when the binmen were unloading this morning) and a fence panel has started to go which a neighbour is trying to fix.
In the back garden some stuff under tarp is now exposed (the tarp hasn't flown off and can't but it's no longer providing much coverage).
Doesn't seem that bad here. I'm sure I played football in worse as a kid.
On that note, I remember arriving at a pitch as a kid and everyone standing around deliberating whether the match should go ahead because of the wind. Not 5 seconds after they took the decision that we should play, half a tree came down across the pitch. There'd have been deaths if we'd been on there at the time, I have zero doubt :D
I'm not really finding it funny lads. This place has been getting more and more toxic for a while now, but I thought we were a bit better than lolling at people's property being ruined. Apparently not. That's about all the energy I have for a public flounce off I'm afraid, but enjoy.
We're not even above lolling at Magic's ruined lungs so I think you've set your expectations a bit high.
That said I would have been sympathetic about your fence
My parents lost their fence in a storm about a month or two ago, and I think it’s been replaced.
Awaiting feedback it’s gone again.
I can imagine it’s more than a little annoying having to fix something so boring.
We had snow earlier, but it’s now turned to horrible pissing rain and wind. I could really use going to the gym, but this weather is giving me a great excuse to just sit and watch the new episodes of space force.
I lost 4 tiles. Cost me £100. :(
The airport youtube channels seem to be doing a bumper trade today, everyone seems to be on about them.
Just a standard day out in Croydon, tbh.
One of my recycling bins has blown away somewhere. That's a fiver right there.
There are bins all over here but nothing serious. Everywhere is dead though. Empty shops, no cars out. It's only wind.
People have got a taste for lockdowns now. Can't wait until it hits 30 degrees in the summer.
Seven reasons why you should self-isolate this Summer (Covid isn't one of them). Number 7 will surprise you.
That's located right by Croydon's new skyscrapers so that's a legit downdraught. Used to love fighting my way through the one near my offices before the fatties stole that away from me for 2 years.
Millennium Dome getting it. Blow it up with Tony Blair in it.
Our chimney is fucked too. Lol :boydy:
The house is surprisingly intact. Result.
I've basically slept the last 2 days recovering from x4 12 hour night shifts. The biggest gusts have come from the dog's rear end. Heard what sounded like a glass bottle break outside earlier though. Scenes.
Power went down for about 6 hours this afternoon. Luckily no damage outside that I can see, and I'd moved all garden furniture/detritus inside last night so we're clear on that front. But dealing with 2 young children for 6 hours without any power was fucking draining.
That sounds fucking terrible. Commiserations.
This is why you have kindles/ipads/other battery driven devices.
It's a lack of sleeping tablets (for the kids).
The weather is really providing some excellent shadenfreude. A few people I know from my hometown are heavily involved with the rugby club and were sharing memes on facebook earlier about how everyone was soft for worrying but they were hard as true Cumbrians. The beer tent marquis area at the club has been ramraided by the storm and they've had to postpone their next fixture :D
Similarly a guy I know I foolishly thought was more intelligent than this posted earlier that he didn't know what all the fuss was about, and it was playing out weather when he was a kid. Just posted a frantic appeal on facebook because the roof has blown off his summer house :D
This is exactly why I held off saying it was a load of piss and wind, but it was.
The alleged snow didn't turn up for us.
Franklin is every bit as bad as Eunice here anyway.
South East Queensland is copping proper end of days flooding ATM with a handful of towns suffering from the worst flooding in recorded history.
:moop:
It sounds terrible, but the real question is what temperature is the flood water? Time to get The Gun©.
Seriously though, are you safe from the flooding?
Im perfectly fine my place is halfway up a long street however woman died in flood waters 1 suburb over.
I'll temp the puddles tomorrow morning and report back.
You guys do seem to get semi-regular flooding, which is a bit baffling when you're permanently on fire too.
Is it just that you don't get any rain at all for years, and then half the Indian Ocean falls on you in 2 days?
I think this is the reason.
Quote:
Typically, some areas of northern Australia will experience flooding during La Niña because of the increase in tropical cyclone numbers. The relationship between La Niña strength and rainfall is closely linked. The greater the sea surface temperature and SOI difference from normal, the larger the rainfall response 2.
:D

Just outside Suncorp stadium.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCjAZ7jYdD4
That thumbnail is a right set up.
Drizzle is the worst type of weather going, isn't it? Absolutely fucking miserable. Spring needs to hurry up.
This Saharan dust is a bit mad. More orange than a night out in Basildon.
Absolutely pouring it down here.

https://i.ibb.co/mzdhwkB/20220316-145718.jpg
Glad I got the car cleaned at the weekend. :D
How's the fence?
Been dark af here all day. Such weird light around midday, it was like seeing the world in sepia.
Monster evening here. 15° so I’m drinking outside.
It's been pretty weird here today.
It seems to be going from a sunny 10c with no wind to 2/3c with plenty of wind and snow flurries every 45 minutes or so.
It's currently snowing here while the sun is out.
Yeah, we've just had a couple of pretty heavy snow flurries.
Was 4 degrees and sleet this morning, with pleasant sunshine in the afternoon. :cab:
Fence is looking alright now.
That's me working from the garden on Thursday and Friday. "Only" 27 in the north west, mind.Quote:
Brits are in for a two-day heatwave - with the Met Office in-turn issuing a heat alert for 'dangerous' 34 degree Celsius weather.
The weather officials have urged large swathes of England to be ready as temperatures are set to skyrocket so high, that a new record could be set for the hottest day in June , since records began.
For context, parts of the South East and London could reach temperatures hotter than Portugal, Jamaica, Costa Rica, the Canary Islands and Cyprus - with the rest of England also set for sunny spells.
It's apparently 37° here on Saturday. Going to melt.
34 here apparently. Then shite all weekend, naturally.
34c in the UK must be fucking horrendous
I'm going to melt when it's 24 here.
I was in Bath last summer when it was 34. I got absolutely steaming off about 5 Pimms. Glorious.
That's what it comes down to. It's all good when you can enjoy it. Ideally a pool / beach and cold drinks. It's absolutely shit to work and commute in.
Looks like it's only getting to 23 degrees here. Honestly, there's always a breeze going so it's been nice to get out in it.
Anything above 32° is sickening.
Currently 32 in Frankfurt. Oh and it's a bank holiday tomorrow. :baz:
31 and glorious here. I've booked the afternoon off last minute and I'm sat in the garden with my feet in the paddling pool, sweating the last of the Covid out.
It's like 43 over in the land of cheese. Fuck that for a game of soldiers.
Yeah that's just unpleasant. Had similar in Cyprus and it's just hide indoors weather. Is household Aircon widespread over there or are they as fucked as we would be?
Twenty seven here. I went for a sixteen mile walk and I think I was sweating out my eyes.
30ish and I'm in Southend (well Shoeburyness to be exact). It's quite nice.
You're either in Shoebury or it's nice, both of those things cannot be true at the same time.
This heat gives me migraines.
Hit 25 before which is disgusting when it's overcast.
:( rip
One of the umpires I stood with last week told me a touching anecdote about the time a passer-by shouted 'Nigger!' at him, a black man, as he walked along the beach at Westcliff-on-Sea. I'll always remember it for that now.
It will have been one of the local Spice heads, of which there are many. Absolute shithole, Westcliff, the worst part of Southend, aside from Shoebury.
The seafront part is usually OK though.
I did see a woman crying whilst sitting on a wall with a group of people around her holding a bowl of water for her feet.
So it hasn't been completely fine.
Spent the day on site in full PPE, baking sunshine, 30 degrees. Get home, crack a can and the clouds roll in before I'm half way down. :moop:
A casual 33c in my sons room tonight. He's sleeping magnificently as you would expect. His room is north facing and the coolest in the house too. :happycry:
I would argue that is no excuse. :D
https://scontent-ams2-1.xx.fbcdn.net...9A&oe=62E5D904
Time to start keeping an eye on how the mid July forecasts look. :uhoh:
2 weeks away so unlikely to happen, but if it does I'm driving to Scotland for however long it takes to fuck off. 40c.
It's actually not even the "most likely" model run as far as I understand it, but "within the modelled possibilities", so with 2 weeks out it's unlikely. Seeing 43c over where I'm at in NL still gets me looking at possible escape routes.
Looks like utter shite.
Still, even on the hypothesis it looks like the Channel Islands are the place to be [they're not on the map].
Not a hope we get mid 20’s so no dice.
Torched to perfection
I'd demolish that.
Phwoar.
And get me some while you're at it.
It's probably not getting all the way to 40 but the London forecast now says 36 in a week. :uhoh:
God, I fucking love it.
Had a barbecue and a day in the paddling pool yesterday and a pub garden lunch and the afternoon at the beach today. What a weekend.
The London scummers don't make it to the beaches this far down either.
Definitely rather be back down south than Wales given the quality of beaches both offer.
Do UK beaches get better than Pembrokeshire?
It's no Cullercoats.
The best beaches seem to be in the worst places. The North East, Wales, the arse end of Northern Scotland.
St Ives is nice isn't it? Pretty much anywhere in the South West that isn't Bristol, actually.
St.Ives is lovely aye. Most of Cornwall is tbh.
Norfolk has great beaches.
Also been to Lowestoft which is on the border, but I think technically Suffolk. What a fucking shithole that place is. Even by Southend standards.
Is the quality of the sand more important than the quality of the sea?
Pebble beaches can get lost, but I think I’d prefer lovely sea and a beach littered with broken shells and condoms, over brown sea and lovely fine white sand.
I've been to Caister too actually. I was a kid though and had no idea it was Norfolk. I had it near Clacton in my mind :D
Clacton is probably the peak of Mount ShitSeasideTown. I did an eviction there once and the tenant - a heroin addict - had booby trapped all the soft furnishings they left behind with used needles. Bless.
In Swansea you can see the steel mills in port Talbot pumping sewage into the sea from the beach for an extra bit of fun.
https://i.ibb.co/1mMNWq5/Screenshot-...6-Facebook.jpg
The weather is amazing at the moment, but this can fuck off.
I umpired 12-7.30 Saturday and 2-8.30 yesterday, must have lost about 6 stone in water weight. 35 degrees on Sunday will see me move into negative mass.
There's a mess at work which is air-conditioned. Might just move in there for the next week or so.
It was 32C in Dundee yesterday.
That seems unlikely.
Edit: Internet says 27/28. Not bad for you lot. Foe must be a crisp.
According to my car thermo whilst driving back from Edinburgh. So ambient temp less wind chill.
