It wasn't that bad.
The Revenant's 156 minutes long.
If it's good.
I wonder how long it will take for the wider world to realise that Tom Hardy can't act.
I'm really not a fan, but appreciate I'm in a minority.
I don't get it either. He was good in Bronson, and I haven't seen that Krays film, but everything else is pretty standard fare.
He was immense in Locke.
I thought he was good in Tinker Tailor and Warrior, too. He wasn't bad in Inception, but not really a standout.
Was sensational in Krays to be honest.
He's superb in The Revenant, which has just finished and is pretty much a masterpiece. Gonna have to go see it in the cinema.
The last hour of Django makes the film worthwhile. Di Caprio felt a little try hard.
Sicario was right up my street. The scene at the border crossing.
Thought it was a bit long. Didn't take to any of the characters apart from Del Toro who was great as per.
Hateful Eight and Creed out now too.
Apparently people are reuploading the leaked screeners with Star Wars spoilers watermarked in. :D
Hateful Eight screener missing some scenes apparently.
Gay.
It's due to having to remove watermarks, that and the fact it's not the three hour long 70mm release. It's missing seconds, really.
I had forgotten just how good Toy Story 3 is.
What a film.
August: Osage County: Very good. I noticed it is based off a screenplay, I can see how that would be excellent as a play. Strong performances from the usual suspects. 7/10
Jurassic World: It is complete and utter nonsense. It, however, succeeds at not taking itself seriously and be entertaining enough to not be a waste of time. 5/10
The Revenant is good, with some amazing cinematography and a very good performance by Di Caprio. That scene must be one of the most visceral I've seen.
On the downside, the film suffers a bit from always building to a climax that you know is coming, Tom Hardy is rubbish and the story itself doesn't justify a 156 minute runtime.
Ach its a masterpiece and Hardy is superb.
Hardy was brilliant, can't understand how someone can knock his acting ability as he can seriously do it, and do it quite well.
What are you asking? You were responding to someone saying people had watermarked Star Wars spoilers into other films, so the question makes little sense.
Fucking hell Giggles
Steve Jobs was absolute fucking shite, despite the typically snappy Sorkin script. Although already disliking the guy would lead me to that conclusion so there we go.
For me, I watched the film and looked at every actor as their character and believed and bought into that character, until it came to Hardy, who just came across as Tom Hardy doing a silly voice.
As I said upthread, that may be my fault as opposed to his as I seem to be in a minority.
I thought overall it was a pretty good movie, but I also thought that Hardy and his voice felt a bit out of place. Almost like a parody of something.
Granted, I also didn't really buy his croaking in Mad Max while most people I talked to didn't have any problem with it. :sorry:
EDIT: Just to clarify, otherwise I don't really have a problem with him as an actor, not even with the squealing in the third Batman.
I thought his voice was a bit weird in Mad Max. I'm a massive Mad Max fanboy in general though so I didn't let it ruin my enjoyment
Absolutely not. Then again, some people liked The Social Network.
Is The Danish Girl "out" yet?
There's a Tom Hardy backlash now? Kewl.
But he's still great.
I wouldn't say it's a backlash, I've never been a massive fan.
He's very good at grunt style roles, but he doesn't appear (to me at least) to have handled the move into ACTING roles particularly well.
I've yet to see Locke but I've been told he's excellent in that.
He is.
I got up to Chapter 3 of The Hateful Eight before giving up for the night. It's a rip-off of Canterbury Tales, isn't it? I preferred the Chaucer dialogue if I'm honest.
For Hardy 'acting' roles, Locke and the Krays movie are arguably the best I've seen him in. The only reason to watch that Krays movie was simply how good Hardy was at portraying both of them.
