How many from tier 1 sources?
Chelsea getting rid of Bruce Buck and milf Marina is surprising but smart. Might stop selling all their good young players now
Tottenham out of the race for Eriksen it seems. Down to United or Brentford.
United also considering a move for Lisandro Martinez.
I’ve been saying Raphina is overrated for ages now so congrats to me on the massive u-turn I’m about to embark on.
So are United exclusively going for ex-Ajax players?
I suppose Edgar Davids would still improve our midfield to be fair.
I don’t know if you’ve heard or not but they have no money.
They voted some short term money generating schemes in at their last general meeting so they will have some cash. At least for a season.
They’ve essentially freed up £600-700m.
They’ve done this by selling 49.9% is their holding company(I think) and by agreeing to use TV money and such early.
So they’ve essentially put the doom and gloom off for a few years.
United may not be in for Martinez, possibly just a tactic to get Arsenal to bid higher after their initial offer was rejected.
175cm Argie CB :happycry:
What's happening with Saliba?
Italian clubs are absolute banter in the transfer market. Quibbling over 3m euros on a loan fee for a player you sold for 100m a year ago
I find the Eriksen to United rumours to be a bit confusing.
He's a good player and all, but where would they plan to use him? Wouldn't he sort of be in direct competition with the likes of Fernandes and Van Der Beek [not that I really know how Ten Haag likes to play - 4/3/3?]. Even at 'wide forward' they have other options in the likes of Sancho, Rashford, Martial [arf] and maybe Antony if they sign him. Just seems there are other, more pressing issues that need to be addressed and signing some nice to have player in the autumn of his career because he is going for 'free' is a bit :cab:.
I'd take him at Liverpool for a couple of seasons. I'll be annoyed if he signs for United because I always liked him.
Yeah I don't really get it either. If you sign him, you might as well sell Van De Beek because Eriksen, him and Fernandes would all be competing for the number 10 position.
ETH will play a double pivot and I can't imagine Eriksen will get played as one of the two.
He's obviously a good player.
double pivot 🤮
Whenever someone says that I just think of late career Frank Lampard doing one of those slow netball turns with his foot on the ball.
With his little device thingy, he's probably safer than anyone.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to sign Pope.
Vieira confirmed at Arsenal.
Liverpool did have an agreement with Porto from around when we bought Diaz, that we get to match any offer they accept for him, but it seems like he mustn't have impressed enough to match Arsenal here. You'd think they'd have matched the £34m otherwise.
Looks like Freddie Woodman and Karl Darlow are on the way out. Pope looks like the front runner to replace one of them. £10m.
And in Gateshead news, Tom Allen's arriving from Newcastle whilst Cedwyn Scott is heading to Notts' County. He joins up with Macauley Langstaff (58 goals between them last season) so I'm not sure what we do up front next season.
:D
True.
Unless it worked like one of those first refusal things, although I never know how they square with what the player wants to do (if it's counter to the 'deal').
It was a first refusal thing IIRC. Didn’t explain it very well.
Unreal. £100m spent on him a year ago and he's going back on loan for 8m euros. And people laughed at United for selling him for not far off what they bought him for.
That’s more of an editement on Chelsea and United than it is Lukaku.
He's still right though. There's a good player in there if you can keep him happy.
1) He's an extremely flawed player even if he does have his qualities.
2) He's a fucking toddler and not worth the effort to "keep happy".
He posted training data on Twitter at United without permission because some random guy called him slow, for fuck's sake.
There is something weird with Lukaku. He bosses Serie A and international football, but seems completely ill-suited to English football. Like, disastrously so. Maybe he's just been burdened with being in dysfunctional teams [as much as the Chelsea he joined could really be described as that on the back of winning the champions league]. Wind the clock back 11 months and he was the missing piece of the puzzle who was going to fire Chelsea to league glory. Obviously such received wisdom operates in ignorance of 'the operation' but it's still a formidable achievement to have failed so spectacularly.
The most expensive footballer of all time.
Ooft :D
Diego Costa was great. I don't even remember them buying Higuain.
Diego Costa and Giroud broke the curse. Though half of them on that list were bought as back up/squad player.
This is why you have a Director of Football and not some pretty lady.
I dunno, could a DoF have extorted £150m out of Real Madrid for a washed up Eden Hazard with a year left on his contract?
She was incredible at getting money for players, I’ll give her that. I’m not sure why they couldn’t have replaced Emenalo and had her take care of negotiations.
She’s gone now anyway. I wonder if they’ll still whore the academy players for millions and millions. West Ham are after Broja and teams will be after Conor Gallagher and desperate for Colwill too.
Lukaku is class.
Takumi Minamino to Monaco for £15m.
