He's out but what a fucking effort.
Russ taking a sack because he didn't want to pass to a wide open TE.

Shocking.
Sounds like another offensively (in both senses) ugly showing from Denver. I liked the tweet saying "Hackett will run for a yard on any down other than third and one." :D
He appears to be completely out of his depth and I can only assume Paton is furiously working on a plan B.. unfortunately for me they might give him until Wenbley so his replacement can have the two weeks to work on things
Hilarious that Dalton has thrown three picks, two of which were returned for TD's, in the first half after the commentators were lauding him for being safe with the ball.
First pick 6 wasn't his fault but whatever.
McCaffrey gone to the 49ers, that running attack is going to be pretty special.
Too much for an injury prone RB.
So, the Ravens are double digits ahead. How long until the Browns take the lead @Sir Andy Mahowry?
Wait until the final 30 seconds.
The bucs are ruining the panthers plan for the number 1 pick.
Jamal Williams knows the score for the lions though.
Brady looks as finished as a player as his marriage.
:rave:
Breece Hall looks brilliant.
Knee injury too, could be done for the year.
Oh dear Jimmy G.
This Broncos offense being worse than the one where Manning didn't have any functioning upper body joints is some going.
Especially when the defence could well be league leading if the offence was at least competent.
Thing I read in the week said the defense is allowing under 17 a game I think. And that's despite how much time they're spending on the field.
Former Raven CJ Mosley ending it.
Edit: Or not, Rypien has a chance.
Weird 4th down play. Rypien had a first down if checked down to his RB there.
Really looking forward to seeing this offense in the flesh next week.
Five of us normally go to a London game every year. The deal is we go to the best game unless one of our teams is playing. One of the lads follows Denver so that's the game this year. Unfortunately I'm on holiday this weekend so what a shame.
I was drifting in and out of redzone but completely missed how 21-16 with the 49ers 1st and goal [and ostensibly having just thrown a TD] turned in to 28-16 the next time I saw it.
Now with Marlon Mack!
Phwoar.
James Robinson to the Jets.
Huge move only made possible by Breece Hall's knee blowing up and the Jaguars being useless by using the inferior ETN.
Jets must hate Carter.
Karma finally catching up with Brady in a big way.
Russ starting well...
Having a great time.
Russ' cooking giving everyone food poisoning.
Trev trying to make Russ feel better.
That passing TD from Russ
Money well spent.
In a fumble situation are you allowed to kick the ball to advance it? I appreciate in most situations you'll want to be dropping on it, but as with the forced fumble on Lawrence there before it probably would have been better for the defensive player to try and kick it as he was getting munched by various opponents as he was never going to be able to get on the ball himself.
Why are the Jags passing constantly right now when ETN is getting chunk yards every single carry with Trev seemingly playing blindfolded.
Trevor Lawrence is so shit.
Are we ever going to get two good, exciting teams playing each other in London?
Apparently Packers / Giants was the first London game ever to have featured two teams going in with winning records.
That is true. No top team wanted to give up a home game and nobody wanted to give up a home game against a top team (because it’d be a guaranteed sellout). Hopefully the 17 game season changes it because teams with 9 home games don’t really have a choice anymore.
As much as the teams might not be the best we have had 3 great games over here this year. Might be 4 in a row if jags/dolphins was the previous one.
Both teams yesterday were shit though and the win probably hurts Denver by keeping Hackett employed.
Roquan Smith
Fleeced the Bears.
I find this baffling.
Hockenson is great and it seems a little on the cheap side plus it seems mental to be giving a divisional rival such a great weapon.
All I can conclude is that he's told Detroit he's not going to sign a new contract so he'd be a free agent after 2023. Because otherwise he's 25, so you can include him in a franchise rebuild. It's not even very strong compensation, especially to a division rival.
Biggest trade in terms of compensation thus far it seems.
Claypool to the Bears for a second and Steelers grabbing William Jackson for a late rounder.
Edit: Chubb deal is a first, a fourth rounder and Chase Edmonds for Chubb and a fifth round pick.
Bit of a shame Chubb is gone but it's been on the cards and at least they're actively trying to reset the draft position a bit.
Cannon of a leg.
Rodgers is done btw.
9 points scored against that Lions defence with 3 picks?
The no pass interference call at the end of that Dolphins Bears game [as the defender pulled Claypool to the ground] was pretty funny.
Didn't they make pass interference a challengable/reviewable call a few years ago or was that just OPI after whichever post-season scandal precipitated outrage?
They did make calling it and non-calling it challenge worthy, but it ended up that the refs never changed their mind regardless, so they've got rid of that.
Scotty getting cut as soon as the whistle blows.
Gahahahahahahah :D
Fuck you Tom.
For anyone not watching:
Fatty Fournette tries to throw it to the old cunt who falls over. Woolen picks off the pass and old cunt gets called from tripping too.
It's beautiful.
That's class.
Justin Jefferson is bonkers.
Then they won the game. Insane.
This game, especially the final few minutes, has been immense.
I didn't realise it hadn't finished. :D
Tough loss there. WFT played very well on offence and really limited the time on the field for the Eagles offence. Several 5min+ drives really killed off momentum. Even with all of that it took referee help and a big time fumble from Quez Watkins to lose the game.
Plenty to work on, but the key thing is a lot of big players got banged up in the game. AJ had loads of tape on his ankle, as did Kelce. Smith hurt his hand, Goedert his leg and Sweat took a whack to the knee on the other side.
Wentz goes on IR and we win 4 of the last 5, with the only defeat being a 3 point loss to the Vikings.
Incredible.
Wasn’t Tyler Lockett pointing this out when they played in week one?
Browns @ Bills moved to Detroit.
I don't see the problem.

Cowards. :nono:
Playable.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...m-fortune.html
Probably already in here, but lol.
Charity work is hard and expensive mate.
The Coin is now 10-0.
All hail The Coin.
I dropped off at the end of the Broncos game last night at a point where it looked near impossible that we wouldn't see out the win. Woke up and we'd lost in OT. Great stuff.
Passing on 3rd & 10 when Raiders out of timeouts.
Everybody involved in the offense needs binned pronto. Klint Kubiak was on play calling yesterday but that sort of thing is the same old shit Hackett was doing.
Evero's been great for us but his inability to notice yesterday that only Adams and Jacobs were doing anything for the Raiders, or failing to do anything about it, was pretty rank.
Melvin has fumbled for the last time in a Broncos uniform.
Wow.
Woof.
Also, we're shit.
:harold:
Mental game unfolding in Philly. We went out to a 13-0 lead very quickly but the Packers have fought it back to 20-20. At 20-14 up we had Rodgers picked off and worked it down to the redzone but an AJ Brown fumble has taken the ball back up the other way and it's level instead.
Seems the same formula as the Washington game in that we cannot seem to stop the power run game. CJGJ carted off doesn't help either.
EDIT: Never mind. We broke Rodgers in the first drive of the second half. Looks like his ribs.
Sadly it was deleted, here is what it was:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Firf1GNXoAAcwNs?format=jpg
That's my QB
Pissy little fucker, isn't he.
Kudos to Deshaun watson making the Texans look stout defensively.
We're so shit that we're making the Broncos look ok.
Dialling up a WR pass who proceeds to lob it up into quadruple coverage
Is it all field goals so far?
To Kenyan fucking Drake too, not even a WR.
Dropped the broncos defence in fantasy :(
Replaced them with the browns defence.
Tyler Huntley
Mayfield released. :D
Mosley :D
Mike leach has passed away, which is a bit surreal.
Serving head coach at Mississippi state. Interesting character too. Shame.
"Brock Purdy"? C'mon, now.
Colts Vikings at 6, then ravens browns at 9.30 today for those inclined.
Saturday NFL.
Christ the Vikings are an odd team. How do you get so talents and then get thumped so regularly. Ina. 17 point hole at home to the colts after 10 minutes. Wot.
33 point hole at HT. Everything about that first half was comical from the Vikings.
That first half was mental.
Vikings couldn't do anything right.
The route Jefferson ran for his TD
What's the biggest NFL comeback ever? 33-0 seems in danger of being overturned here.
Vikings screwed out of a TD there.
This game has been brilliant.
This is mental.
This sums up Greg Roman perfectly. 20 attempts for our top 2 RB's and they've got 180 yards. Huntley on 28 attempts at throwing has 133 passing yards.
Our backup QB in shit weather and he wants us to be a passing team.
Edit: 30 passing attempts for 133...
Trevor Lawrence.
So basically Trevor Lawrence is good, as we knew he would become.
And Justin fields is limited, but shove him in a run heavy offense like the eagles/Baltimore and he’d be successful.
Zach Wilson though? Still seems a bit high and hope.
Mac Jones still a bit ???? Game manager.
Jaguars
Mac Jones is very meh. He'll get you a 9-8 season, but you wont be winning any playoff games. He'd be the perfect backup QB.
Fields is an incredible athlete, however big questions over if he can throw it when he needs to. They have zero weapons at WR or TE really so it's hard to judge.
I’m still firmly in the No camp on Justin Fields.
Patriots
The greatest way to lose ever.
Christ. :D
Oh my God that's unbelievable.
:D
That is pretty funny. Wasn't there an equally funny intereception TD in that game where Carr threw a flat pass out essentially straight to an onrushing/intercepting Patriot?
Tampa/Brady going into turnover meltdown in the second half of their game was even funnier though.
Jalen Hurts apparently going to be rested for the rest of the season with a shoulder sprain. The Cowboys aren't ready:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FkX5PulX...g&name=900x900
Ronnie Hillman who was one of the 2015 Broncos has died of a rare form of liver cancer. 31 years old. Fuck that.
Clock management guy taking over Hackett's job
Dunno what to make of Evero apparently turning it down but we really, really need to try and keep him.
Probably worried that if he loses the final two (which is highly likely) he'd be a less desirable head coach hire for the Broncos or any other team.
Derek carr getting benched. Full on QB roulette likely again.
We should do a week 1 2023 starting qb prediction list post super bowl.
Jacobs already had his 5th year option declined and to add into it, there's talk that if Carr goes then Adams will be moved on.
Could be full on rebuild mode in Vegas.
The bulk of their problems is that supposedly the buyout for McDaniels contract is so high that they can't do it. It'll cost them too much, so they're being forced to run his contract down unless they can shuffle stuff about.
If any of you are boring sods like me the college football playoffs are on tonight.
Bt sport 1 right now is Michigan v TCU and then there’s a really promising game after in Georgia v Ohio state.
We should see a Michigan Georgia national championship game, but we will see.
Max duggan the tcu qb basically pulled this team with him as he’s a wrecking ball at this level.
Stroud at Ohio state is a good pro prospect so might put up a fight vs. Georgia
I was going to be watching but I’m round a friends house instead. Love to see TCU in front at half time
Two cracking matches. Tcu, who I have a soft spot for as I picked up a few tcu t shirts in Texas like 7 years ago, really surprised me. I expected Michigan to roll them, but Michigan never really had the impotetus in the game after the failed 4th and goal on their first drive.
Georgia looked a lot more exposed on defense than I expected and bar a duff (50 yard) field goal winner from OHIO they didn’t really deserve to win. Ryan day will be sick.

Scary shit, game obviously had to be postponed after.
If the Bills lose today does that give KC the 1 seed or is it all subject to randomness now?
KC have it anyway. Bills can only hit 13 wins with a win today and Kansas City have 14 now.
KC pack of cunts doing that trick play. TikTok infiltrating NFL.
They're the most dislikeable team in the league right now.
Is the location of the Championship game not still somewhat up in the air if the BIlls win [and it ends up being Bills/Chiefs]? Which is the main purpose of being the 1-seed.
Yep.
It would be at a neutral location.
Also, if the Ravens win today (unlikely) and they meet the Bengals in the wild card game then the home team will be determined by a coin toss.
That being said they're still trying to find a fair place to play it.
They asked to Colts to use their stadium and the Colts said no. So expect the Colts to get fuck all from the NFL for a while.
Dan Campbell
Interestingly post game one of the Lions asked for Rodgers jersey and he told them no he wanted to "hang onto this one."
He seems to have some juice left, so I don't think he'd be properly done if a team came up that just needs that QB to make a run. There's an interesting situation or two out there for him. Seahawks would fit that bill I think, as would the Jets. The Dolphins off season is also going to be very interesting. There seems to be no indication that Tua is coming back any time soon and given the battering his brain has taken he or even the team, might decide enough is enough. Maybe even the Commanders?
I'd have the 49ers on that list with Jimmy G leaving this year but the emergence of Purdy might put pay to that. They're fine without him, but if they fall short again then the stars might align on this one.
The entire NFC South may be looking for a new QB depending on how the off season goes too.
https://i.imgur.com/k2YjXvM.png
This is what I hope happens.
In reality I think we lose to the Bungles, the Bills beat the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game and then go on to win it all.
In terms of who I'd want to win:
1. Ravens
2. Bills/Niners
3. Giants
4. Chargers
5. Dolphins
6. Jaguars
7. Eagles
8. Vikings
9. Seahawks
10. Bengals
11. Cowboys
12. Buccaneers
13. Chiefs
Here's mine:
https://media.discordapp.net/attachm...09071983/Z.png
I think the Bengals and the 49ers have just hit that patch of good momentum at the right time. The Vikings really have fallen off at the end. Eagles are tricky. We lost some good players just before our rough patch, but we've struggled big time against long run oriented drives. I don't believe Hurts will be 100% either.
Ravens and Dolphins are there to make up the numbers given their QB situations.
This Niners team is fun.
Two drives, two picks for Trev. Lol.
Edit: Third pick in the first quarter.
Check out the big balls on Doug.
Chargers need to leave Staley in Jacksonville after this horror show.
Really thought that kick was going to fade wide just to ruin the comeback.
27-0 to 30-31. What an absolute car crash.
Jags game was a wild ride. Shame for Herbert.
The dolphins really are a different team without tua. A shame, as they could’ve challenged to win the whole thing with him. But they’re just a bit limp with skylar.
And yet they're not going away.
Bills are so frustrating. If/when it all clicks they’ll put up 50. But they just let teams hang around.
That's some effort by Diggs.
I find their games tend to all follow a similar pattern. They have a nice close game and try some things that don't work out, Josh Allen scampers about a bit. Then near the end they suddenly remember they've got Stefon Diggs and they throw it to him a lot and magically win.
What's going on here then?
Meltdown, is what’s going on.
Boys in blue need to wake up.
The Dolphins clock management in that 4th quarter was horrendous.
Three timeouts wasted and then they take a delay of game on 4th and 1 because they're pissing about.
Fucking lol at Miami going from 3rd and 1 to 4th and 6 whilst having a nice little pow wow as the play clock wound down. Idiots.
That's never a first down but that was impossible to overturn it.
Giants
Right when I was starting to believe we fumbled at the 1 yard line which is taken back for a TD :(
Turns out the Vikings were the Vikings all along. Who could have guessed?
Gotta love a two yard check down to a covered receiver on 4th & 8 :D
Ravens game was crushing.
I actually was starting to believe we could do it and then Huntley goes high with his QB sneak, fumbles it and they house it.
Other than that I thought Huntley played really well but mistakes killed us in the second half. Roquan not bringing Joe down on third down, roughing the punter etc etc.
I also felt our final drive was a bit shit because we bled too much clock and because of that we looked away from Dobbins in said drive and because it came down to an all or nothing play (which Proche really should have caught), I feel we should have have looked to score with 30 seconds or so to play rather than the final.
I'd fucking love it if the Jags dick the Chiefs here.
Mon Trev.
Mahomes injured
Fuck em up Jags.
For a bit there I really thought they were going to just let Mahomes keep hopping out to play on one leg.
I remember Rodgers doing a play off run on one leg. If it's just the ankle, he'll likely play the 2nd half, but if the team think his knee is compromised at all then they'll pull him.
Some real knee damage from now would knock him out of a lot of next season too.
If someone would do the honorable thing and go low on Mahomes that would be lovely.
ffs, I don't think they even pressured Mahomes in the second half.
Make him wish he wasn't in the game you dickheads.
Is phoebe shameful lustage or just legitimately hot?
Opinions please, gentlemen.
Hot.
Bills O-Line is an absolute mess right now.
I think she's somewhere in between as a reasonably attractive woman. Definitely not shameful.
Fence sitting isn't what TTH stands for.
Declare your undying love for her or call her a disgusting pig.
Tell you what I'll declare my undying love for, Neil Reynolds stopping directing half his questions to "J-Bell" when there's a Reinebold right there.
Come on Niners, win it all please.
Fuck the Cowboys.
That last play was incredible.
I laughed so hard at the defender absolutely smashing down on Zeke who was in at center. Zeke seemed to think no one would rush him.
It's a work of art.
That’s maybe a case of Kellen Moore trying to be so clever he ended up being dumb. Not sure how he expected anything other than the ball having to be out in 1.5 seconds with the entire 49ers defence steaming straight down at the receivers
It looked like Zeke didn't expect he'd have to block.
And then someone else came off the edge so there was fuck all Dak would ever be able to do. I'm not sure how they expected that to go.
49ers bengals double here.
Suspect mahomes will take a hard hit early. They’ll need to game plan him the entire game, but you know fine well the bengals will put the fear in him early.
Eagles are good, but the 49ers streak will carry them.
8 Grammys for this?!
That was some catch by Smith on 4th down.
Niners/Bengals for me.
Although I'm supporting whoever wins the NFC.
The smith catch not being a catch is great. Whenever you see a wideout reacting like that should be an autocue that something isn’t right.
Eagles off to a flier. Heck of a play by reddick.
No Purdy no party.
Niners in trouble now.
Smash mouth football.
If Bosa is out as well they might as well blow the final whistle.
Fucking hell, how’d you game plan for this?
If mccaffrey gets his annual injury here too it’s cherry on top territory.
Hopefully Bosa is just a flesh wound.
Josh fucking Johnson leading the team in a title game is some shame.
Game needs this to stand as it was. Fuck the wire.
Incidentally, spider cams, wire cams, all these on field cameras that can come into play are a blight on the games they are involved in. It's not a computer game.
Niners defence is still good enough to keep them in it without Bosa.
Hurts still doesn't look happy chucking it or running free.
They need to keep feeding CMC.
First we had WIREGATE and now we've got backup chains
What a game.
CMC
Beautiful run.
Teams should stop wasting so much money on QBs, just have a stable of minimum wage journeymen and spend everywhere else.
Just needs to start pissing it down to make this even bitty-er.
Oh dear.
CMC as the QB
Niners are cursed.
They should put CMC at QB and go out with a bang.
Trent Williams :D
Wonderful.
Man, he's going to live an eventful, short life with that stature.
Bungles O-Line is horrific.
What a fucking petty penalty to end a game and send a team to the Super Bowl.
0/2 on my selections and I’m fully in chiefs camp for the super bowl. I wanted the Texans to get mahomes in the draft when they ended up with watson so at least him winning is some solace. He’s so good.
Would be fun if hurts won the sb before Lamar though.
Cheering for the Chiefs
My annoying mate supports the Eagles so it’s either an unbearable night of that cunt, or the TikTok Chiefs. I hope the stadium burns down during the game.
Chiefs are great if you can block out his horrific wife and brother.
I'm happy it's against them as if we do lose, Andy Reid gets some more recognition.
Broncos trading for Sean Payton.
Steep.
Last I'd heard it was between Ryans and Shaw but I was a bit surprised the Payton chat had gone quiet.
Also didn't we already trade our 2023 first rounder for Wilson or did we gain we gain one somewhere?
Chubb?
And yeah, Chubb.
I look forward to us packaging both picks & another first rounder to move up into the top 10 so we can overdraft someone
Ah, Chubb, forgot about that.
Brady retiring. For real this time.
Give it a week.
He's calling Gisele as we speak.
From an onlookers perspective it's really hard to appreciate the forces involved in seemingly every aspect of American Football.
RIP Brock Purdy era 2022-2022
I for one am shocked, SHOCKED I tells ya, that violent woman-beating scumbag Joe Mixon is wanted by police for threatening to shoot a woman in the face.
Anyone planning any decent food for tonight? Obviously Philly cheesesteaks are a given and evidently Kansas eat barbecue for every meal. Need some non-beef dishes I reckon.
Can't remember what my sister's making but she usually puts a decent spread on for food during the game. Dunno if there's any thematic food or not.
Go Birds, fuck the Chiefs.
2nd half depends a lot on how mobile Mahomes is after the aggravated ankle injury.
If we didn't have that fumble then this game would have been going amazingly.
Half time show was fine but not a patch on last year's.
She's pregnant, right?
Fucking Chiefs.
Well... Fuck.
It felt like the first half went well. We were constantly converting 3rd and 4th downs. Problem was it felt like a bit of a struggle through the game.
Meanwhile the Chiefs seemed to score at will.
Second half the defence just didn't come out. The two completely blown coverages on the goal line were comically bad.
I don't like the holding call that essentially sealed it, but thems the breaks sometimes.
A shame for Hurts as he played so well and the injury didn't show until that final hail mary attempt.
Felt kind of like a one shot deal for the Eagles though. A lot of players came in for this one year push. Kelce might be done after this and Hurts needs paying.
Philly really went off the boil in the second half but the Chiefs stepped up basically all the departments that mattered and the Eagles didn't have a response.
Unfortunately the TikTok Chiefs are just better. Philly’s schedule was kind and their record was a bit flattering. Hurts is elite but they had a lot of things go their way en route. Neil Reynolds talking about their D-line being one of the best of all time was a hell of a stretch.
Honestly I thought the chiefs were just better from start to finish. Even on the opening drives they went through Philly like a hot knife through butter whilst Philly needed constant 3rd and even 4th down conversions. The Eagles defense might as well have stayed at home. Mahomes had one leg and they didn’t get to him once nor did they cover anyone all game…. Except Juju at the end. That it stayed close was something of a miracle and came down to Hurts being the best player on the field, but the chiefs had a lot more to offer.
Great game somewhat ruined by a classic NFL ending. The best and worst of American Football right there. Soft penalty, but they got away with others during the game. Andy Reid just monstered them in the second half. Philly paid in the end for taking so much time off the clock without getting the points on the board. Hurts deep shot at the end was a bit embarrassing from and arm strength perspective.
All the Mahomies will be pleased, which is a bit of a bind but whatever.
You mean the 'not scoring when he could have' bit for clock management? If so I did think that if you were watching as a new / uneducated viewer would (rightly) think "What a load of absolute shit."
At least Amar Bradshaw had the decency to forget, try to save it and sit down into the endzone for an unwanted touchdown.
In those circumstances would the defending team be able to pick up the ball carrier (prior to them downing themselves) and carry them into the end zone?
Interesting point. I assume so... play stops when forward progress has been sufficiently stalled but I can't think of any reason you couldn't hoik them over the line.
Would be an amusingly farcical situation.
I also think it's interesting how different people see the game completely differently. I probably leaned KC but I quite like both and just wanted a good game. For me there were a number of points where it felt like Philly were close to running away with it. When the Chiefs went 3 and out at 14-7 it felt like they needed someone to 'come up big' (think Fitzmagic said as much in commentary) and the fumble duly came. Then when they got the ball back with 1.40 to go in the first half I was just waiting for them to punch it in again, see Mahomes not come out for the second half so I could get on with my life but they kept hanging in there. Even the 3rd and 8 at the end felt like there would be time for a grandstand finish before that penalty call came.
Was J Bell on ITV? Felt I missed out on some 'special teams for special players' analysis, particularly after the punt return watching the sky coverage.
I would do anything for Laura Woods. Big simpin’
But you just wont do that.
He's had a sprained shoulder that's badly affected him since about week 13 of the regular season. He doesn't have Mahomes levels of arm strength but he's better than he could show there. Wouldn't be surprised to see him have some kind of surgery in a week or two.
We've been way ahead in most previous games so it's been death by run for our opponents. This game was the most he's had to throw since the injury.
Offence was stellar even with a limited Hurts. The difference was that it felt like it was tough for us, but they kept just coming on up with big 3rd and 4th down plays. Though when the Chiefs got the ball it was like a hot knife through butter whichever way they wanted, with a small blip before the half.
As you said at 14-7 when we got the ball back I thought that was when we'd take control, but then the fumble.
In the second half Andy Reid just out coached Sirianni. It didn't feel like much of a contest. Questions will be asked of Vic Fangio being brought in for 2 weeks to specifically plan to stop the Chiefs offence when the defence did literally nothing all game. I think we hit Mahomes once for the injury and maybe got close to 1 sack, but no picks or fumbles were even close.
The Eagles team is very similar to the one who beat the Pats a few years back. It was even a similar game. We had a big time defence then that came in and did nothing until the last 3 mins of the game. However unfortunately for us Mahomes is better now than Brady was then.
It's a shame for Hurts who deserved better, but the frankly embarrassing defensive effort in the 2nd half, especially on those goal to go plays, did not. Scoring 35 points and not winning should highlight the problem.
Two greats teams played out a really great game there. As a neutral it was great. Complete opposite of this shit fest the rams defenced their way to last year.
Will the eagles pay hurts big? Or does hurts highlight that if you have a good, strong running qb who’s a decent thrower you can build a system around them and be successful.
How long until it’s back? :(
Hurts seems to be a genuine dual threat, so you bet he's gonna secure the bag soon.
The likes of Fields and Lamar run very well, but when it comes time to chuck it they're lacking IMO, hence the Ravens unwillingness to pay. Hurts is not quite as agile a runner, as those two, he's more of a power run guy. The offence with him under centre should be looking at the Lombardi in their hotel room right now. It wasn't them that was the problem.
Hurts however once he gets paid will be taking up a lot of cap unless he wants a very team friendly deal. Howie is going to have to work some magic.
I think all the 3rd [and 4th] down conversions seeming edgy was more of a fan thing. From the outside they felt a bit inevitable [particularly as you knew 4th and 1 was essentially a 1st down], although I can see how chucking the ball into double coverage and the like could hardly be viewed as high percentage plays. I think that's from the mentality of everything being 4 down territory. I only really got the sense things were going wrong for Philly when they couldn't get any serious points on the board in the second half despite continuing to chew up the clock. It felt like that might end up costing them both in points and time terms. Was that catch that was ruled incomplete on the sideline in the second half? Felt like a harsh call to me, they really had to fight for the angle to take it back. At the same time, on the incompletion that wasn't a fumble, I wish they'd shown the angle of the pass in replay. I'm sure it was forward, but I'd like to have had it confirmed in replay, because it it wasn't that becomes a touchdown, no?
:d
Joe Mixon has been a naughty boy again.
Just get the cunt jailed already.
He just wanted them damn kids off his lawn.
Shooting at them is perfectly reasonable.
NERF guns are a serious act of aggression in America.
Wow.
Panthers desperate for a QB.
They kind of had to.
Texans, colts, raiders all ahead of them with Greg wildcard of the bears themselves and the falcons who could have decided to go. You know fine well the Seahawks would trade down too to a qb needy team.
They’re in reset territory anyway, despite outperforming after trading away CMC. Pick 61 was from that trade anyway no? Is they’ve decided to trade their offence for 8 slots.
That’s one hell of a package for the potential QB to throw to nobody.
Rumours abound that they want to trade down now. :D
Well they probably don't mind 4 QB's, so as long as they don't drop out of the top 4 they'll be happy.
I reckon they probably Richardson the most and he's a bit of a reach at number 1 over Stroud and Young.
Dolphins getting Ramsey for not much compensation.
I don’t understand the rams. They trade away picks for players for win now, and then they send away an all-pro first ballot HOFer most likely for what? An early ish third?
Ramsey wants $20m per season and the Rams are already way over the salary cap before draft
picks sign. They shot their shot and now they need to offload some of them and as a result some teams will be able to get a bargain.
Rodgers to Jets.
Jimmy G has done the obvious and gone to mcdaniels in vegas.
Lamar has requested a trade :(
The ravens effectively accepted that with the tag they put on him. Two first rounders is probably about what they would’ve got anyway.
I think with the tag they were trying to show him that he wont get a fully guaranteed contract in the league and were hoping they could keep him for something similar to what they were offering.
Also, we used that tag on him after he requested a trade.
He's only just gone public now.
Aye that’s what I mean - he wanted a trade. Why would they do that when they can tag him and get two 1s if he gets an offer and they don’t want to match it.
:cab:
OBJ to the ravens is :cab:
Be funny if Lamar left now.
Lamar isn't going anywhere.
$7 Billion in cash. What a fucking move that is.
Speaking of cash. Jalen Hurts agreed a new deal. 5 years for $255m of which $179m is guaranteed.
Highest paid player in NFL history.
Hecking big contract.
Lamar will be buzzing.
I'm not sure he will tbh.
He wants more than Watson in guaranteed (so higher than $230m) and Hurts didn't get near that guaranteed number.
I think if Hurts had gotten $200m+ in guarantees Lamar would be licking his lips.
He’s a bold man, pick 32 is what $8-9mill?
You’d think he’d be eager to get that big money.
Going to give him a lot of credit and assume he wants to be remembered as setting the precedent of high guarantees as a legacy. Not that he’s worried his scrambling will eventually catch up to him.
I think there's more to it than just the money here.
He wants high guarantees yes, which is as may be. But I believe the 'establishment' are trying to screw him over for daring to try and do this without an agent.
Lamar is very overrated in my eyes but those that matter don’t think he is, so I agree this saga is heavily influenced by him not having an agent. For ability I don’t want him to get paid but for balls and ultimately a groundbreaking event, I hope he gets all the dollars.
A whopping guaranteed contract and then back to back ACLs would be perfect.
As an aside I was thinking back to Joe Burreaux’s wonder season at LSU and appreciating how lucky I was to watch so much of it. I love college football and the SEC games are on quite regularly. It just added so much interest watching this kid who was just unbelievably good lift a team that had been a sleeping giant back to the top.
Didn’t get this from this current crop coming this year, but hopefully whoever the Texans nab at 2 develops into something better than a Matt Shaub.
Aaron Rodgers to the Jets is done.
He stays
It's officially official.
Super Bowl coming this season.
Edit: $260m with $185m guaranteed.
Bryce Young 1, Will Anderson 2 and CJ Stroud 3.
That's my prediction for the draft now.
Texans going batshit.
$185m guaranteed without an agent. Good work.
I have no idea what's gone on yet as I went to bed rather than stay up til 5am. However there was a lot of talk that Nolan Smith was the guy for us at pick 10 with it being likely that Carter and Bijan Robinson would both be off the board by then. To get him at 30 surprises me greatly so I need to see what's gone wrong there.
Now I guess what's happened is that Bijan the Eagles saw a severe tier drop in talent after Carter. I'm no college football guy, but the things I saw had Carter as a top 3 prospect before he had off field issues.
Purely off the tape Jalen Carter probably would’ve been the top player on the majority of boards. Eagles smashed it & New England deserve a mention for trading back & still getting Christian Gonzalez, who was generally considered a top 10 pick.
Texans move seems mad on paper, but when you zoom out they basically tanked a season to get will Anderson and CJ Stroud. Forget next year, it reverts pretty much to course but they’ve hopefully got a QB and a blue chip defender.
Outside the top 2, and Anderson going 3 but to Arizona, I was totally wrong elsewhere bar Johnson at 21 to the chargers.
A few surprises in there for sure and really not sure what happens with Levis now. I thought the raiders might fancy it to get a bit of garapolo insurance, so that’s where I think he falls in round 2.
The lions leaning into who they are is pretty great. Swift and Jamyr means they might win the division. They need to sort some defensive players the rest of the way.
Levis should never have let people know he eats bananas whole and has mayo in his coffee.
The serial killer vibes just don't help with draft stock.
Have some draft grades. I'll also throw in their spot on the media consensus big board for reference, as well as where they ended up on mine.
Just to give you a sense of the scale, it's 1-10 where 1 is a disaster, 10 is a massive bargain & 5 is basically fine. I'll also be taking trades into account, which will impact some of the scores.

This is taking ages & I'm off out shortly so I'll do the rest later.
She's studied Carter quite extensively it seems.
The addition of Montgomery before they've drafted in Jahmyr Gibbs at 12 said to me Swift might have been in trouble, but they aren't going to spend that draft capital on a RB2/3.
I feel like by this time tomorrow Swift has a new home. A shame but given they seemed to decide midway through last year that he can only play on 10 or so touches, it makes sense.
There's a few fair players who you look at and think they're probably going to move tonight. Ekeler could be another in the same boat.
Yeah I’d forgotten Montgomery.
Does seem like a trade is likely then, a shame as they were starting to get good things out of him.
Was really hoping KC would take jalin Hyatt at 31.
@Dan my cousin is also moving on, heading from A&M to bama.
Not sure I can bring myself to become a bama supporter.
I've just seen we only gave up a 4th rounder to get Carter so that's great business.
From an Eagles point of view there's not a lot else left to do really. We pick almost last in the 2nd and then early in the 3rd so there's still good value to be had, but it will likely be hard to get up from there. Even with Howie on his bullshit.
I'd like to see an upside RB or WR added in, personally. Or if someone like a Swift/Ekeler who wont need to play every snap for us would come in. Our RB room is crowded right now but if you look at it, we have Gainwell who will be there beyond this year, but the others I'm not sure.
Boston Scott is the Giant killer and not much else really beyond a reserve back. Sermon looks cut/practice squad material and Penny is only on a $1.3m deal for the year.
The WR room is good, though some competition for WR3 would be nice. Quez "Fast Batman" Watkins is a great guy to have, but why not add riches here if you can.
He’s basically heading into the world of assistance in college sports at the very junior level, but he gets to travel to all of these big programs and he’s super interested in it - so it’s a pretty cool future career.
I’m quite jealous. He’s not in football though, so there’s still room for improvement.
How deep to you need to dip Dans mickey before you’re allowed on his private TTH NFL chat? Or do you just have to pat him on the head and tell him he’s nearly an NFL reporter.
It's later.

In terms of the best players available, the consensus board & I agree on the top 5 - Joey Porter Jr (12 on the consensus board/21 on my board), Brian Branch (16/19), Michael Mayer (19/13), Will Levis (26/20) & O'Cyrus Torrence (30/31), but here are the next five on both boards:
Consensus - Josh Downs (34), Cam Smith (35), Drew Sanders (37), Kelee Ringo (38) & John Michael Schmitz (39)
My Board - Drew Sanders (34), Adetomiwa Adeboware (36), John Michael Schmitz (38), Darnell Washington (39) & Dawand Jones (40, although I hear he might have had a bad process & might fall a bit now).
I'd also expect DJ Turner & Matthew Bergeron to be off the board pretty quickly.
I’m thinking about watching some 2024 guys this evening while I’m still interested so I’ll keep you posted.
Having just looked at a few lists of eligible players we’re set for a loaded QB class - Caleb Williams is the favourite to be the man but Drake Maye has put himself in the conversation & Quinn Ewers was the number one player in that recruiting class, then we have Cameron Ward who’s the traits guy, some reclamation projects in DJ Uiagalelei & Spencer Rattler, Deion’s kid Shedur Sanders & about 8000 super seniors who could get drafted with a good season.
Caleb Williams will be the top pick, to someone like Washington or the Raiders. Ewers is super talented too but he needs to stay healthy this year, he’s missing too many games.
Yeah, I’ve started with Caleb & you can immediately see why he’s the top guy early on, he’s a five tool player. He’s not perfect, obviously, but everything is there for him to become a dude.
Who could ever have predicted the Steelers taking Joey Porter Jr?
Will Levis to the Titans at 33. Who’s the common comp for him? Yep, Ryan Tannehill. Cardinals continuing to stack 2024 picks that they’re definitely not going to use on a QB Kyler, don’t worry…
Quick thoughts on the notable classes so far:
- Giants & Steelers have been very good, I like all their picks although that Giants WR room still looks extremely weird. In general most teams are putting together at least a decent class
- Despite stealing Brian Branch the Lions are still on a strange one, as are the Jags & 49ers, and I’m not a huge fan of the Saints’ day two picks either.
- The Dolphins shouldn’t be allowed to have Devon Achane, and the Seahawks need to calm down with running backs.
- We got a kicker  Sounds like we might get a few punters today & maybe a long snapper too if we’re lucky.
A few round four notes:
- Eagles going back to the Georgia defense bargain store that seemingly only they are allowed to shop at.
- Colts stacking up freaks with Adetomiwa Adeboware.
- Saints, Rams & Raiders getting good backup QBs in Jake Haener, Stetson Bennett & Aidan O’Connell respectively.
- Browns drafting 365lb OT Dawand Jones to go with 340lb DT Siaki Ika.
- Patriots just drafting straight from the Bill Belichick handbook with a bunch of small school dudes & a kicker then trading back.
- Steelers having a great draft by just picking people that are related to guys already in the building.
Looks like the Eagles GM is desperate to answer the ‘could a college team win in the NFL’ hypothetical.
You didn't say DAWG enough.
I think DeMarvion Overshown is getting my Name of the Draft award this year.
I like bumper pool out of Arkansas.
Sadly I had to discount Bumper for not being his birth name, like some of the Juices and Sauces we've had in recent years.
You’ve also got the likes of SirVocea Dennis, Habakkuk Baldonado, Israel Abanikanda (all three are from Pitt, who also had Calijah Kancey & Deslin Alexandre), Xazavian Valladay, Nesta Jade Silvera, Malaesala Aumavae-Laulu, Jovaughn Gwyn and, last but not least, Jacky Chen.
Next years early favourite is Alabama CB Kool-Aid McKinstry, which obviously isn’t his real name but he still makes the list as his actual name is Ga’Quincy McKinstry.
https://nypost.com/2023/05/10/bo-jac..._medium=social
Good to see that Bo has tried all the usual remedies in his fight against hiccups.
The Cardinals just cut DeAndre Hopkins knowing they'll be stuck with near $23m in dead cap for the season.
Brain dead management.
Please sign him EDC.
He just wanted to play with a QB who is dedicated to football, and they sided with the Call of Duty addict. :D
Well that went well on banner party day.
The chiefs just don’t have a weapon when Kelce is out. Don’t think I’ve seen so many fuck ups from a single player as Toney last night in a game. If he wasn’t so good he’d be binned for that.
Jawaan Taylor also had a bad night.
He was lined up too deep and false started on pretty much every play. Although the refs kept letting him get away with it.
The best previews you're gonna get:

I've missed NFL Sunday's so much.
Scott Hanson
Bijan Robinson is very damn good.
The moves he put on for that TD were lovely.
He just belongs.
That’s why I love college football. It was so unbelievably obvious that he was an NFL stud, yet there he was, lining up in Austin against future accountants for a year more than he really needed.
Zay Flowers also belongs. He is so damn shifty.
He already looks like what we wanted from Hollywood but he was never able to do it.
Dobbins apparently has torn his Achilles :(
My sweet boy is dead.
Edit: Confirmed, fuck.
49ers absolutely took the air out of the Steelers balloon. I still think we'll have a good season but that was a bump back down to earth against probably the best team in the NFC.
Still, it could be worse. The Giants for instance...
Tough to digest opener for the Eagles. Went into the week thinking we were up with San Fran and Dallas as best in the NFC, but this was not pretty.
The defence looked about the same and got us out to a grand 16-0 lead, but the offence just seemed to falter over and over. Now it was hammering it down for most of the game, so it's not quite as bad as it might be, but to let Mac fucking Jones have multiple attempts at pulling off the late win is criminal.
I'm hopeful it's just week 1 cobwebs being blown off combined with some bad weather. Going to have to be on it quickly if we wish to keep pace with what looks like a sharp pair in 49ers and Cowboys.
Aaron Rodgers Jets' career lasted four snaps.
Pah, nothing sitting in a dark room with some crystals won't fix.
I do believe in crystal skulls.
Bonkers.
Brilliant game management by Gino Smith there. :cab:
Fuck the Bengals
Seahawks were so lucky, that holding on the final play was mental.
Some awful refereeing in that game. The intentional grounding call was terrible.
Nice to see Lamar Jackson has finally woken up
Chubb out for the season and maybe more. Knee completely fucked, genuinely felt sick seeing a replay. That's one of the worst I've ever seen.
Someone in our fantasy football WhatsApp posted a still photo of it. Horrible.
Same knee he obliterated in 2015. Would have had a monster year again too.
So good.
Also there's this in the replies:
The very same guy ran onto the field to block someone on an interception return last year.
Clearly he's not the brightest lad.
:D
Superb.
The Texans looking almost capable.
The broncos still sucking after all the faff with trades is great.
I really like the Texans this year.
They've got the potential to be good on offence.
Nico Collins and Tank Dell look very good.
I assumed putting up a fight against the ravens in game 1 meant they were decent. Didn’t realise the ravens were not that good. Struggling at home here against the colts minus Taylor and Richardson.
Fullback for the Texans with a kick return TD
I can’t recall a FB returning a kickoff or punt for a TD ever. I mean, obviously it would have happened years ago back in the day of dual and triple threat players but surely not in recent times?
So good.
This is the first time I've been able to watch Denver this season. I am not enjoying it.
Gus Williams, RB 3 now down.
What the fuck is going on in Miami?
Well I'm glad I switched off but the rugby hasn't been any more entertaining.
Not calling DPI for the Ravens there is bullshit.
Zay Flowers was tackled early.
It's so clear ffs.
So, Dolphins-49ers Super Bowl this year?
Bijan is bonkers.
Ridder is wank.
Desmond not the guy. Played a lot at Cincinnati but doesn’t really strike as elite.
Winning those two games creates a problem too. They’re clearly good enough to be stuck in purgatory.
Veteran might be their move if they have enough win now pieces ie pitts, bijan.
They’ll get Tannehill next year to finally complete the transformation into the Titans
Kirk Cousins
CJ Stroud is looking like the real deal.
Also, Nico Collins
Bears. That's the whole post. Just, Bears.
It was very decent of them to totally go to shit like that.
The decision to take a timeout (after attempting to get the Broncos to go offside) and then go for 4th down was mental. It was even more mental that they didn't put it in the hands of Fields to make something happen.
Those decisions alone should see Eberflus fired.
I see the Bears as the Everton of the NFL. Glorious stories of that team in the 80's but then absolutely comical mismanagement cycles combined with largely poor recruitment since.
The Simpsons was right, it doesn't get old.
Achane (A-Train) is bonkers fast.
That 76 yard TD was incredible, he looks faster than Hill.
Chiefs 9-24 Broncos
What? :D
I'm sure they'll shake it off.
Mon the Fins, fuck the Chiefs.
Chiefs shooting themselves in the foot.
CJ Stroud is very decent.
Stroud is so damn good.
Making the Panthers look stupid for passing on him.
Bryce Young though, yikes.
Stroud is 100% a franchise QB.
Are the Broncos good now?
Well, better than you might expect from a team who concede 600 points in the one game this season.
Another glorious Broncos win. No idea how good we actually are, I suspect the answer is "not very", but it's nice to see a bit of backbone as we get some results together here.
Just talking with my brother there, we think they're fighting with Buffalo for that 7th seed spot. Can't see Pittsburgh lasting with Pickett pirouetting into sacks at every opportunity.
NFC is horrendous. Whoever gets 7th seed there might be the worst playoff team ever. But they'll still probably beat Detroit who seem determined to go for it on 4th down all the time. It's working now but you just know it'll blow up in their face in the playoffs.
Kareem Jackson is still a prick though.
He's a total cunt and needs binned out of the league.
AI at it's very best.
4 game ban for Jackson, takes his total banned for this season up to 6. Next time should really be a season long ban, because there will be a next time.
The Jets
Right after an interception gave them the chance.
A pretty wild few plays in a row.
Hail mary before half time seems a bit risky. The whole point is a final roll of the dice but they’ve gone from in with a chance, to completely screwed.
It was such a Jets series of events.
:D
Such a Denver thing.
Jalen Hurts and Jake Elliott pulling victory from the jaws of defeat.
Another close one for Denver. Wish Wilson had just got rid of it given there was another play left but c'est la vie. Being 6-6 is much better than I'd have thought when the Dolphins smashed 'em.
Great game in New England.
Really would like to see the Texans make the playoff, I really like their team.
Just a shame the coaching staff were mongs and put Tank Dell (who is built like a twig) on a goal line play blocking right up the middle. Broken leg for the beast :(
Having two wide receivers blocking for a power run up the middle was just bizarre and asking for trouble.
Tylan Wallace
What an absolute beast.
Vikings-Raiders game
Another glorious win for the Broncos. What a weird season.
Mahomes is a scumbag.
I've been seeing a lot about this Mahomes thing on my cursed twitter timeline, looks like he's taking the VAR moaning one stage further by claiming that in spite of it being the right decision, it shouldn't have been called anyway because it was a touchdown and done by him. Sporting culture is broken isn't it? I know quarterbacks get their dicks sucked daily but it seems in this case he genuinely believes himself to be above the rules of the game, which is a flex I haven't yet seen anywhere else.
Imagine all the seethe from the Luis Diaz non-goal at Spurs, but only to find out he was offside the whole time, but then say yeah but it was a really nice goal so it should stand anyway and keep the complaining going.
That is bonkers.
Heck of a play.
Great for his stock into the offseason too
Also, the Vikings are fucking stupid.
3rd and 1 plus 4th and 1. Both times they go for a tush push with the tiny WR Brandon Powell attempting to push Mullens. At least use someone who doesn't have the physique of a bent twig.
The Brotherly Shove is not for everyone.
Turn on RedZone after the footy and the first thing I see is a pathetic failed fake punt from the Jets from their own 20 ish. :D
Mooney should be cut for failing to bring that in.
That game was pretty mental the whole way.
We are looking so good.
That one handed grab by Likely was filthy.
Baltimore definitely peaking at the right time.
We're still picking up injuries though...
And that's Lamar surely securing the MVP award.
Has the Chiefs Nation come out and blamed Taylor Swift for their shitness yet?
Huge boos at Arrowhead.
If they manage to fuck up the West
I know Romo is good but he’s literally predicting every KC play before the snap.
He was a good level NFL QB for over a decade so it's no surprise he can pick up on what's going on.
He's taken some shit this year for not doing any prep and just turning up on the day to do as you say. None of the comms team knows any better than him so they just go along with it.
I like him. When you’re that good, you probably don’t need to prep much. But you still need to have the knack for commentary to pull it off. I’m not sure Brady will have that. I hope it doesn’t mean Olsen gets punted from the Fox top job, because he’s really great.
Olsen is amazing, especially on Thanksgiving games when he gets distracted by the Turducken.
CFP live on sky sports nfl tonight.
Bama Michigan has just started. Texas Washington after.
Michigan got very lucky on the opening play
Christ what are they doing?
Near INT on the first play and now a muffed punt return. Can’t make those mistakes against bama.
He’s probably getting fired so I don’t think that’s going to help him much with getting his next job.
Jacksonville lol. Imagine being 8-3 and missing the playoffs.
Arthur Smith has indeed been sacked as has Riverboat Ron.
Ron Rivera, the only guy to lead two teams into the playoffs with a losing record.
Pete Carroll's out, shouldn't be a shock and yet I couldn't imagine it happening still.
Saban and Belichick going too. This really is end of an era stuff now.
Mike Vrabel about to make a lot of money from someone (likely New England).
Vrabel and the Patriots seems a good fit. Surprised the Titans didn't give him one more year, but then with The King leaving and there being a need for a new QB(maybe they give Levis another shot), it seems a good time to start fresh.
Interestingly Atlanta haven't sent out a single interview request since firing Arthur Smith. Their fanbase is starting to think they've been waiting on the Belichick news to try and bring him in.
We could still yet lose Andy Reid after the play offs too. Rumours of him retiring are swirling.
They must have something in the pipeline because I don't recall any team firing their coach on Black Monday and seemingly not starting the interview process immediately if the replacement isn't already in house.
Flacco just absolutely carving the Texans here.
Surprised the Texans didn’t go for it from the 3 or 4. If you can’t punch it in from there in 4 plays when you need to then it’s not going to be a Super Bowl.
I dont think there'll be many more goal to go field goals now. Mental game.
CJ Stroud is so good.
Imagine selling the farm and then choosing Bryce Young over him.
He's the real deal.
This is incredible. Two nights running a top defence being carved up by a rookie QB(I know Love technically isn't but this is his first real year).
They could yet come back here, but this Cowboys season is very Mike McCarthy. He did this many times in Green Bay. Light up the league in the regular season, only to choke it in the playoffs.
Get them sweet Jerry tears on the jumbotron.
The Cowboys
Who Dem Boyz.
The Packers now have 3 playoff wins at AT&T stadium? The Cowboys? 2.
:D
Steelers fumbling. :face:
Refs robbed the Bills of the second one
Yeah, that was some serious ruling on the field stands bullshit. Ruling on the field wasn't that it grazed that dude's lid, which it didn't anyway, Gene.
Looks like that might be the game, especially if the Bills get a TD this drive.
Josh Allen is so good.
What is going on in these playoffs. :D
Just watched the extended highlights and wow, I've never heard such a burial of a coaching staff by a broadcast team than ESPN on the Eagles.
Having said that, they're clearly just not that good. Lucky they had a couple more wins than the Jags going into December because the implosion was probably even worse.
This Eagles loss has been due for us for weeks. It's thoroughly deserved by the coaching team because I really don't know how we've got here.
A personal breakdown of what I think happened is that everything was going alright, but some cracks were being papered over. Hurts being given his mega money in the summer was the start of the issues. I know it's the norm for this to happen, but it boggles the mind that these guys can't see how it affects roster makeup. Because of this contract we had to lose Hargrave, Seumalo and TJ Edwards and reinvest in high potential rookies.
This again was doing alright until you hit the Chiefs game. The Eagles got outplayed in that game, however all of Pats receivers lost their hands and dropped everything. Even then we left MVS wide open for a bomb TD right at the end, only for him to drop that too.
Next the struggling Bills came to town and put up 34 points. It was only Hurts doing Hurts things and a mega kick from Elliott that got us the win in that one. Again more cracks papered over.
Then came the absolute dicking from the 49ers. Followed by another bad loss away in Dallas. I think here is when one of two things happened. Either Siriani panicked too soon, or the locker room was lost.
Because all of a sudden, despite not being on staff or known to be working with us, suddenly a wild Matt Patricia, defensive mastermind, is calling the defence. In a great twist, the defence did not get better. The previous DC in Sean Desai apparently punted into the stands. At OC Brian Johnson didn't exactly do a great job either. His play calling became very stale(screen pass anyone?) and predictable. This was highlighted when CMC was on I think Manningcast and was calling out what plays we were about to call before we did it. In their defence, they were both rookies OC/DC hires, but it calls into question the decision to hire them onto a team capable of going all the way.
I think it's been a case of the players got the job done despite some bad coaching. It only goes so far though. Now I could be wrong, but what happens today will likely show how close I am. If the OC/DC and Siriani all go today it would not surprise me. It's also the option I'd take. Unlike last year, it's not going to be easy to just get everything back together and go again.
For example Kelce looked by his reaction at the end of the game, to be done. Cox, Graham, Swift, Cunningham, Opeta and Roby are all also free agents now. Most were on team friendly deals last year, but I doubt most of those will be back.
The offence should be great again next year, but that defence needs a rebuild. We don't exactly have the best placed draft pick to go and do it either.
Osi's going to be on fire in the highlights show. Haven't seen last weeks yet but he was on top form the week before.
It seems like the main problem is the co-ordinators - not sure why you'd hire an up & coming DC like Sean Desai & then bin him off in half a season for Matt Patricia, who is a proven bad coach/co-ordinator. Even if they weren't doing great the first half of the season, it seems like Patricia can't teach his scheme & isn't a good people manager, so now there's less pressure up front & the back seven have forgotten how to cover or tackle - Kevin Byard going from an all-pro in Tennessee to just some guy in Philly is probably the best example of this.
The OC is less of a concern, it just feels like you gave a young guy his shot & it didn't work out. There's enough talent on that side of the ball to give you a good floor, but getting someone in who can improve the scheme & playcalling would take you back to being an elite offense. As for Siriani, I'd probably be guided by the players on that one - get the leaders together in private & see if the locker room still believes in him, and if they have doubts then sack him off & go hard after someone like Ben Johnson.
As for the roster, with Kelce having retired & Lane potentially out the door too, I'd say RB & OL are the only thing you need to look at on offense, other than maybe a WR3, and you can get a committee RB & a third reciever anywhere. You hope that Cam Jurgens can be the guy at center, and Steen or Driscoll could take the open spot at guard if Opeta leaves, so RT is the priority. Given the Eagles love to go trenches early in the draft, I'd imagine this could be where they spend their first round pick - not up on the draft class yet but maybe someone like Amarius Mims from Georgia.
It's probably also time to actually invest in one single linebacker that can cover anyone, whether that's with a day two pick or in free agency - a quick look at the potential free agents throws up Lavonte David & Patrick Queen, who'd be great but expensive, or Jordyn Brooks & Drue Tranquill, who might be more realistic options. You'd like another good young corner tooso that could probably be another option for an early draft pick, but other than that I feel like they can just get away with filling out the roster & a better DC should sort most of the problem out as the rest of the starters should be fine.
There's also an element of the schedule last season being so staggeringly soft that it gave a false impression of where the team was at, whereas this season they've played an actual schedule with good teams on, so they've come back to reality a bit. I feel like they're going to be in the 9-11 win range again next season regardless of what they do & a lot of the panic is just from setting the bar too high after last year.
I see a welsh rugby winger [Rees-Zammit] is off to join the IPP.
Does anyone ever make it out of that in a skill position?
There's the German fullback at Vegas. But he's only used as a run blocker so I guess he doesn't count.
But then Rees-Zammit is very young compared to most entrants so he's got a better chance (probably still next to none).
Efe Obada has done well for himself and Jordan Mailata is obviously a star.
Most of the successes seem to be in the offensive/defensive unit category.
I thought Christian Wade would do well.
I remember his first carry for the Bills in pre-season going for a 65 yard TD.
Never did anything after that.
That was a weird one though, in that even though he ran for the TD he was criticized for not running behind a blocker and instead taking on and beating a defensive player, wasn't he? Sort of as a wider illustration as to how people coming into the game have no real chance of having the necessary level of understanding to really make it.
Nervous about our game tonight. Texans are no joke and they have the type of offence that could trouble us I feel.
Looking really good in the second half.
Loomar especially has been on fire.
Lions @ San Fran could really be some good fun. A shame it's not in Detroit.
These games were a bit too good so I had to stay up late and now I'm tired and drank too much beer.
Lamar is the only man who can save us from endless Taylor Swift coverage at the Superbowl.
Road Warrior/Underdog winners are the best, like when the Giants [ugh] turned over the flawless regular season Patriots.
Obviously the Chiefs don't fall into this category, so it's on the Ravens to sort things out themselves.
Hopefully Detriot stick it up the 49ers but I'm not confident.
I like an underdog winner but at the same time I do think some element of the teams who do well throughout the season (or come good at the end) being the winner has to be retained. I'm not a fan of a 14 team playoffs because you widen the scope for absolute bullshit teams like the Chiefs getting in there and ruining the whole thing.
We will do our job, lads.
Fuck Mahomes, Fuck Swift, Fuck the Chiefs.
What a fucking name.
This is the highlight of the post season, even if it is tough to overlook a lol Cowboys effort. Tricky one. Prefer the Ravens but don't like Harbaugh. Always loved Andy Reid but not a massive fans of the Chiefs.
Nice stand by Baltimore, oh wait. Sorry Mahow.
We are all Baltimore tonight. Nobody wants four hours of Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl.
Oh god, swiftcam. :face:
That was incredible from Lamar.
Slightly troubling times. Mahomes is giving people a chance, someone needs to kill him.
Please no.
Obviously no man-on calls in helmetball.
Kelce just tied Jerry Rice for all-time playoff receptions. :cab:
Oof. Should have challenged that Kelce spot.
Surely the first rule of 4th and short running is no cuts.
I get the whole statistics thing but surely a chance to go up ten away from home, getting ball to start the second half would’ve been pretty good.
Points off turnovers.
Lamar
Holy shit. What a play.
Mahomes takes up 22% of his entire teams salary and you could still argue he’s undervalued.
Only one team really in it in that half, another big second half needed for Baltimore.
Almost perfect first half for KC. One blown play and a big holding call have stopped this being about 21-0.
Very lucky not to be picked there.
Baltimore are a write off for the Superbowl if they make it the way they've been in the play-offs so far.
We've been shocking tonight on both sides, we really need to wake up quickly.
Chiefs snaps constantly look dreadful.
The Kansas punter has been wank.
OLine just isn't holding up at all.
Fucking hell taunting, what an idiot.
Love the no voice ref though.
Such a dumb move from Flowers.
What a fucking play that is.
Oh good god.
Fuck :(
Feels like it's done.
Feels like the defence is going to have to do something big.
Not a good few minutes for Flowers.
Heads have gone.
Stunned Mahomes isn't injured after that.
Best outcome for Baltimore there though. Just need to have a proper drive now.
Ugh, punter chose the right time to turn up.
Why throw that?
Game over.
Oh dear, start the car.
Awful decision from Jackson you can't do that into triple coverage.
Not over yet, but this game really highlighting just how good mahomes is. That first half was a thing of beauty. Ravens defense stepped up big in the second half though, chiefs haven’t had a sniff and don’t want to do anything risky.
Lamar is such a good athlete but he’s still a long way off being an elite passer. Should’ve been picked earlier too.
That was a fucking flag.
The fuck are we doing?
I do like that the refs have the discretion to know what is going on and to take action accordingly, although maybe take that away from them by just overstepping and not hammering someone.
Fuck :(
Cover zero doesn't work.
It can do, but not against MVPat.
Clutch.
Niners or Lions Owl win please.
Fuck the Niners, 'mon the Lions.
This Chiefs team is better than the high flying offense version.
I would love a lions win now.
That ravens team was so good this season but just buckled when it mattered. Such a well run organisation. I’m not sure why they didn’t lean into Lamar and his legs. Through a 17 week season you don’t want to do it because he will get too many hit, but in one off playoff and championship games is so tough to defend.
Until he’s does a knee he’s going to continue to be such a menace to NFL defences.
Kelce was unbelievable. Think he retires after the Super Bowl?
Kelce still looks a bit too prime to retire. But it's happened before.
Get your mortgages on KC to win the whole thing. Between Purdy's inexperience and the NFL's desperation to get a picture of Taylor Swift holding the Lombardi, I'd say it's nailed on.
MVPats got a 14-3 record in the post season and is maybe about to win his 3rd ring and he's still 28.
I don't think he could hit Bradys passing records, but his Superbowl count he really could. Though I do think if the Chiefs win you'll see Andy Reid off into the sunset. If that happens Travis will be very tempted to join him and his brother in a happy retirement.
Everyone in MVPAT's "support network" is seemingly a cunt.
I’m not well versed in music these days admittedly but Post Malone performing America the Beautiful is odd right? Pretty good as well.
It is.
Also, I always forget how fucking moronic he looks.
Those teeth alone, fucking hell.
Please let CMC go wild.
Fuck the Chiefs.
Also.Post Malone wasn't good. He can carry a tune but only very quietly.
Some big controversy around the length of the national anthem is really overshadowing the Super Bowl among my betting group chat :D
Fuck sake.
Don't do this to me.
Game over :harold:
'mon Chiefs.
Big Red off into the sunset.
This is also a great example of the two stages of roster development. Chiefs have the mega QB and decent defence but have to sacrifice at WR because they can't afford it.
49ers meanwhile have Purdy on next to nothing and because of this the other skill positions are all stacked.
This is a huge part of why the Bears are almost certainly going to take Caleb Williams at 1. Why have a top 20-25 QB on £40m a year when you can get one who could potentially be a top 5 guy on a rookie deal? Even if he busts it opens up space for you to build the team up for the next guy.
Another example is the Eagles having to give up several players after paying Hurts.
I think Fields does deserve that shit somewhere else. Maybe New England? I actually think Atlanta could do a lot worse. That's if the twitter talk that Caleb has told the Bears not to draft him is false.
Could well have another 2-3 years of this 49ers team too.
Every year I try to watch this, and every year I get annoyed by it. Just play the fucking game. Just throw the ball. You don't need headphones and tablets every 30 seconds, you utter 'spergs.
Yep. It's why I wait for the highlights in the morning.
Fucking hell a DJ.
Niners defence is looking SPICY tonight.
That was a scary fucking play.
Petulance like that is annoying in football, but the way the fouls work in NFL, it's unbelievable stupidity to do what the KC bloke did for the 15 yard foul. What a spaz.
Not exactly the first half I was expecting. Gotta love seeing Jauan Jennings throw the only TD of the game so far though.
Usher
I never gave a shit about Usher back in the day so that did basically nothing for me, even without the dodgy sound.
Oh fuck off
Kyle choking again. This is it.
Twice Shanahan has played Mahomes in the big game and twice Mahomes has done nothing for 3 quarters.
Needs a long hard look in the mirror if they don't come back to win this.
Absolutely glorious. Get fucked San Fran.
Really happy to see Mecole Hardman win the game. Great player, I’ve always said it.
Yeah, being the guy who tells people the thing they like is shit is much cooler than being phonics.
Woke up this morning to clips of a man claiming to have 'overcome adversity' by winning a football trophy while banging Taylor Swift. Sportsman-brain is so strange.
Did America win?
By all means dislike it. It's weird and bitty and honestly the Super Bowl is probably the worst way to try and get anything out of it because it's all the stuff you probably don't like about it but amplified. But if you're getting annoyed by it every year then save yourself the bother and spend the time doing something you might actually like rather than something you can probably be fairly certain you won't.
To be fair if he'd been doing both simultaneously that would have been quite a feat.
And it would have sent that bloke who wanted to sue the NFL because Shakira's bum gave him a stiffy over the edge.
You knew the Chiefs were winning as soon as it went to OT.
Shanahan fucked it hard by not running it nearly enough in the second half.
America always wins. World* Champs.
Shanahan definitely blew the game by trying to make it about Purdy. The kid is good, but CMC was gashing them up for 5+ yards a touch. Put it on his back and run him into the ground. Chiefs defence was gassed leading up to OT and during. Obviously the injuries didn't help, but the Chiefs were begging to give them the ball over in the first half. Game should have been gone by then.
A big lesson he needs to learn is if you have a GOAT level QB on the other team, going for 3 points and giving him the ball back just isn't going to cut it. He's just dragged a team of nobodies and Taylor Swifts angry boyfriend to another title without any of them doing much for him.
Managed to somehow avoid the result all day, got in, saw the Sky NFL channel had a scheduled full match replay on from 8-12, was in about 9 so thought it would be better to watch it that way and suck up a missed quarter or whatever than in highlights, which are shit. 9pm, 1 hour into a 4 hour programme, what do I see when I turn it on? 19-19 and over time just kicking off. Death to the schedulers.
To be fair, the first 3 quarters were the Chiefs pretending to be bad and having to watch Usher on roller skates.
Don't you dare disrespect my man. He actually had the balls to sing live rather than lip sync and did a lot of dancing too. Like him or not, you've got to give him props for committing himself to it and not taking the coward's way out like most of them do.
I will give him all of his respect back and then some for cuddling up to Alicia Keys. The man saw his chance and took it.
Some great ones in here.
That is stunning.
Cam Newton being attacked 3 v 1 and not even losing his hat is such king shit.
The Texans are looking pretty damn good right now.
He seems like a massive prick.
Almost certainly, although I imagine most NFL players are (hello Rashee Rice).
Bills are taking a $31.1m dead cap hit for the trade which is quite telling, they really don't want him there.
Jesus wept.
The man is a loon.
Concussions are one hell of a drug.
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...-draft-moments
Some.good stuff in here.
You’ll never guess who went first overall in the draft.
Falcons with the bracket buster.
Pretty much every team in the top 10 selected a QB, except NYG who are sticking with Jones. :D
Record set for consecutive picks on one side of the ball. Record set for longest time into the draft before a defensive player was picked. Record set for QBs taken in the top 10 and top 12.
Basically if you had a need for defence but didnt pick until the late teens or 20's then you lucked out.
There were a couple of head scratchers in there though. Penix to Atlanta doesn't make a lot of sense for the capital involved. They could have moved back at least once or twice and still picked him up. He'll also be 28 if Cousins does play all of that deal he signed literally last month too. They have a talented young offence that was being held back by poor QB play and bad coaching. Both of those were fixed in the off season. You had the chance to do whatever you wanted with this pick and still got it wrong.
Bowers the other strange one. No idea if the Raiders tried to get into the QB party room but got stopped at the door, but this team had a lot of needs. They also just took a big pass catching TE in R2 last year. Either they think he's shit or they don't know what they're doing.
49ers have been touting Deebo and moreso the unhappy Aiyuk according to reporters, so to see them take WR here suggests to me one of them may well move on.
Eagles went into the draft needing some serious CB help. I was expecting Howie to have to trade into the mid-early teens to get the guy he wanted. Turns out we didnt move at all and at #22 still had every CB still on the board to take a pick of.
I'm seeing mixed things about Nix but i was worried we were gonna spunk a load more picks on trading up and it sounds like Payron genuinely likes him so I guess I'll just cross my fingers and hope for the best.
Talk on Twitter was that Payton was going to take Mahomes back in the day(even had the name down on the card ready to turn in) but the Chiefs sniped him. He supposedly likes Bo as much as Mahomes.
As for the Chiefs, This is their 3rd shot at trying to take the next Tyreek. One of them has to land eventually right?
Nuts that the Bills would trade with them.
Supposedly the Raiders, Seahawks & Saints were all trying to trade up for Penix, so seems like Atlanta wouldn’t have been able to have moved back & still got him.
It’s definitely weird considering the contract they have Kirk about a month ago, but they do have half of the Saints old back office so of course they’re pissing money & picks everywhere.
As for Nix, I doubt he’ll be a star, but he should be a better option in day one than Jarrett Stidham & Zach Wilson. Not sure it’ll be the most explosive offense, but Payton will be able to craft a system for him so he could settle in around the borderline of acceptable & solid.
Mayer & Bowers is going to be a better version of the Bills having Knox & Kincaid. Mayer will do the boring stuff underneath & Bowers will do the fun stuff from the slot or the backfield.
In general I’d say it’s a pretty solid job all round, with Penix being by far the strangest pick. Most of the OL picks seem like they should work out alright, and even if we end up with 10 good players from the 32 picks I think you can at least get what most teams were going for.
Just seen Panthers wasted a pick to trade up one spot to get a guy they would have got anyway with pick 33 tonight. :D
How is this Penix person having his name said as, from the outside, it looks like that name has plenty of lol potential.
Was hoping for pee-nix, unless his first name is Denix.
Well sure, he's gonna say it's Pen-icks.
Big Hyacinth energy.
Penis ahoy.
Kirk must be pissed.
The falcons organisation doing the tinder talk the world and then ghost after the pump. Only they’ve done it with 2 or 3 years of awkward interactions.
Kirk could’ve just stayed in Minnesota at this point. Be good if he just says fuck it, I’ll be QB2, trade me.
Maybe they took Penix at the right time for getting him in the draft, but looking at their team, you have 3 big name offensive guys. Drake London is still only 22, Bijan was underused last year and Pitts(still 23 himself) is getting to the point now where he should be ready to show what he's got. You now also have the QB in Cousins to support them.
They could really have made any other pick here and made their current team better. Maybe grab an Odunze and watch the fun on offense, maybe take a tackle and protect your ageing but new QB investment. You had your pick of any defensive player in the draft. You could also have traded back and got even more draft capital down the line.
As someone who saw his team take Jalen Hurts and insist he was a project/backup/gadget guy, this is one injury away from turning ugly.
The worst case scenario here is that they sit Penix for three years while Kirk takes them as far as Kirk takes teams, then they make the switch & Penix immediately has his third torn ACL & ends up being 29 before he’s even completed a season of NFL football
That's the dream.
My name of the draft so far is Dominick Puni, because it turns out he is 6'5 and 320lbs.
Can't say I've ever seen this kid play, but I did see a fair few mock drafts suggesting we take him in R1. So to get him as well as our free choice of CB in day 1 seems alright.
As ever though the whole draft process is just educated guessing. Look at those QBs who went before Mahomes as an example. Eagles drafting Reagor when Jefferson was available.
What a cracking guy, hope he does well.
Keon Coleman
What a guy.
OBJ to the Dolphins.
I feel like Tua is the only limiting factor in that offence now.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Harris_(center)
Quote:
Richard Overton Harris Sr. (April 7, 1928 – May 10, 2003)[1] was an American football center. He played college football for the Texas Longhorns and was selected in the NFL draft and AAFC draft four times, including twice as a first-round pick, but never played professionally.
What a career. :drool:Quote:
Harris was also selected in the first round – with the 11th overall pick – of the 1949 NFL draft, by the Chicago Bears.[27] He declined the offers so he could go into the oil business.
Dicky knew the public weren't ready for him.
https://www.theguardian.com/sport/ar...ncement-speech
Well he seems a lovely fella.
“While Covid might have played a large role throughout your formative years, it is not unique,”
It being illegal to go outside felt pretty unique to me.
Stunning.
I like that they put Butker in the kitchen near the end.
Lol.
He's never played football in his life apparently.
That I did not expect. :D
What does this guy's agent have on people?
Huge deals for Jordan love and tua.
Packers must be very confident love has turned a corner. He was definitely better last year. Highest paid quarterback level though? Not sure.
Packers moves seem to suggest they think Love is their guy. Contract confirms it. They probably would like him to kick on a level more than he was last year.
To be fair though after some early season struggles he was on it. This all lead to them absolutely slapping the piss out of the Cowboys in Texas. What a glorious game that was. They even had the 49ers too, but bottled the 4th quarter.
STUDham
Could be a long season in Denver.
Poor Ian, wherever he is.
Absolutely beautiful.
Go Colts.
Any chance Rees-Zammit makes the cut for the Chiefs? From the scant reports I've seen he seems to be doing better than one might have expected.
Probably practice squad.
Bust for Booty?
What a name.
100% that's his nutsack.
100% not real. I've seen about 10 different celebs who have 'purchased' it with that exact video.
49ers new rookie WR Ricky Pearsall was held up at gunpoint overnight for the Rolex he was wearing.
He's for some reason tried to fight the gunman and ended up getting himself shot in the chest and the thief shot too.
He's survived and stable but god knows why he hasn't just handed that watch over. Surely he's/the team have insured him against such things.
Anyone know if Gamepass/Dazn/Nfl+ or whatever it’s called now has a TV/Chromecast app? Not a hope I’m watching on Sky this year after seeing those ads for them destroying the coverage for the tay tay crowd.
So closed to beating the scumbags.
Lamar had Flowers the play before too.
Fuck VAR.
What watch do you have? :cab:
Again though, you can just buy another watch? Even another of the same one.
Fucking watch fannies :D
The only situation I would definitely risk it is if they were trying to take my dog because the police investigate stabbings more than they do dog theft.
Well that was a quick end to a season.
Not quite as quick as the Jets last year.
Caught up with both games.
Chiefs ravens clearly two very good teams. Surprised the ravens couldn’t make use of Henry better. It’s still clear Lamar isn’t an elite passer yet they lean into it. He’s so dangerous when he’s loose. Going to get to the point that if they don’t win a Super Bowl with him it’s because they’re trying to be square peg in round hole.
Eagles packers was just a flag fest. Neither qb looking that great. So many close escapes. Barkley though delivered, and the packers have some pretty decent young receivers.
Good start to the season though. Will be interesting to see how the 49ers look and there will be a surprise each year. Lions? Texans?
Just got through the highlights myself. Wasn't sure what to expect this season as we've been great really since Hurts took over as the starter, apart from seemingly hitting a wall last season. Though then the play calling got very, very predictable. But the wheels fell off after the San Fran game. Siriani is lucky he kept his job, but it seems he was only allowed to do so if he changed up his entire staff really.
So with all new coordinators and such, I expected a little time to adjust. The two interceptions from Hurts though were yikes. The second one, I kinda get. Play has broken down and he's tried to motion AJ Brown out, but Brown slips and it looks bad on Hurts. He's tried to be the hero but should really have taken the FG there.
The first one I've no idea what he's looking at. Smith is going alone into at least triple coverage on the pass.
Seemed to be a few issues with him and the center too. We should have had a Brotherly Shove to seal the win but the snap hit the ground. Luckily though Saquon is very good.
Looks like Love escaped the big injury at the end too. Probably out a few weeks, but nothing more. Their team is coming out the other side of the rebuild and they look great for it. Reed and Watson look a great duo and Love is good enough. He had the reverse season to Hurts last year. Struggled early but came out of the bye on fire. Them rolling into Dallas and stomping them was glorious.
As for a surprise, I don't think you can really count the Lions now. They're very good and but for Dan Campbell trying to be hyper aggressive, would likely have made the big dance.
Atlanta have gone for a big shake up and have some very high potential but underused talent in Bijan, London and Pitts. I also think Daniels could be just what the WFT need to get them back winning again.
I'm not sure we see much of a shake up as a final 4 though. Chiefs and San Fran will be there. Ravens/Texans and Lions/Packers for the other two spots.
Our O-Line really doesn't help Lamar though.
The Chiefs pass rush were constantly in Lamar's face and he was having to run out or force passes (which he's never going to be great at). He needs more time in the pocket than we're giving him.
Also re Henry. I'm not sure if it's because he's unfit, we moved away from the run too quickly (as we usually do when losing), he doesn't know the playbook enough or what but he really needed more rushes. I think as well the pass protection being an issue didn't help, we kept calling on Justice Hill who Lamar was checking down to in passes when the Chiefs were in his face.
Meek's traffic stop looks fucking dumb. Imagine getting shirty with the police because they knocked on your window. So shirty that you end up handcuffed over not wearing your seatbelt.
This Bills @ Dolphins game was not going well for Tua anyway, but he's just got himself yet another concussion not sliding when he really should have. You've got to wonder how long in the game he has left.
Holy shit.
All the more baffling given the contract he just signed.
Similarly, why are the dolphins still living with skylar Thompson as the backup. Surely they saw last year he is not up to it. They’ve got plenty of weapons for a powerful offence even with a backup. Heck shove an Andy dalton or case Keenum type in there and they’d still be relevant.
Word is that Brady will be coming out of retirement.
ONE LAST RIDE.
All they need is someone to hit Hill/Waddle in stride 10 yards downfield or hand it off to Achane and they're golden. The fast kids can take over the rest.
I reckon Tannehill comes back in for one last ride.
Derek Carr
Alvin Kamara is bonkers when he's on it.
We're so fucking shit at holding onto leads in the 4th quarter.
Baltimore, more like LOLtimore, am I right?
Saints finally embracing the Shanahan tree cheat code whilst Sean Payton does whatever is happening in Denver.
:)
At least we're not as bad as the Giants.
That is quite an effort.
Seven field goals.
Jayden Daniels looks decent so far, even though Kliff is determined to not let him have a throw at the end zone yet.
Problem with Daniels is that he thinks he needs to do it all.
That's a classic rookie problem though, so not anything to be worried about at this point.
Speaking of Rookie problems.
Bryce Young has been benched, a day after his coach said they'd stick with him:
https://www.espn.co.uk/nfl/story/_/i...ically-bad-day
Andy Dalton rides again.
He’s doomed short guys for the foreseeable future. Giving up that much for a guy who has to jump to throw it over his offensive line is not a good look.
His jump pass getting casually batted away yesterday was the final nail in the coffin.
Kyler Murray was good yesterday though.
Heck of a game last night in Tuscaloosa if anyone bothered to record on sky sports nfl or watch the highlights.
Colts were mongs.
Richardson gets injured on a run so they sit him for a few plays.
Put him back in and tell him to run it on his first play back and he obviously gets popped again.
Rodgers is done.
He looks really skittish as soon as there’s pressure, which was the same thing that happened to Brady when he got older. They’ve barely been able to move the ball today outside of the big return.
Also, one for Foe & anyone who listens to the Cover 3 podcast - Vandy beat Alabama yesterday
Ha, yeah - I watched the bama Georgia game last week and I legit jaw dropped when I saw the vandy score. Stanford Steve on game day was saying vandy were an under appreciated team and he fancied them to cover, but to win the game outright against a number 1 bama is mental.
Welcome back to earth, de boer.
Miami have completely shit the bed.
Maybe Tua really is that good.
The dolphins GM really should be shown the door. They saw tua go down and tank their season last year, and in response gave him a big contract and didn’t bother getting in a competent backup qb.
We saw last year Skylar was garbage, and we saw a lot of Huntley with the ravens looking so so.
Dalton, mullens, Keenum type qb, a veteran with a big about him and they would win the division even if tua went down.
Which you love to see.
Just missing a big hit to take out the rapist cunt.
Jayden Daniels is class.
He needs benching.
Our defence has completely shit the bed.
My god they're so bad.
Holy fucking shit that Lamar Jackson TD pass to Likely.
Bonkers.
Kill me now.
That’s a great kick considering the holder dropped it.
I don't even...
Doug Pederson wont be allowed on the plane at this rate.
What the fuck Arizona are I have no idea. Such a yo yo team.
If Houston fuck up against a rookie on a 1-4 pats team I will be unhappy.
Their defence seems awful. Some weeks Murray can carry them to a win. Other weeks he's only guy guys off the street to throw to.
Sewell diving for the endzone brought a tear to my eyes.
It's so beautiful.
Fuck the Cowboys.
It was Jerry Jones' 82nd birthday too which makes it all the sweeter.
Detroit would have got 82 points had they not fucked around in the second half.
Detroit with the major face turn. Face of the company type face turn.
Anyone who destroys Dallas in their own stadium is top babyface for the week.
These helmets for Illinois' throwbacks are fucking gorgeous.
Deshaun Watson having his Achilles go pop
Bye bye Rapist.
Jared Goff 3 TD throws. Only 56 yards passing though half way through the third quarter. :cab:
The Lions really have chosen violence this year.
The DB taunting the crowd and then being the one who tipped it to the receiver was beautiful.
I stayed up and watched this live. Incredible stuff.
I also love that they scrapped the stupid rule that you have to kick the extra point in situations like that, so everyone can rightly storm the field.
Drake Maye
2 receptions for -4 yards and 1 TD.
Well played Waddle.
That shouldn't be possible.
NFL really punishing Germany.
They have to watch Bryce Young and Daniel Jones be shit for a half and now Machine Gun Kelly.
Obviously DeShaun Watson takes the biscuit in this regard, but there should be jailtime for those who handed that contract to Daniel Jones. He's awful.
He just looks absolutely rancid.
He has the occasional good game and can make various throws but he always looks a little skittish and you can never really rely on him.
I'm not complaining.
lol at the Giants.
That Panthers team getting 3 wins (at least) is quite the miracle too.
Fucking Chiefs.
Mike Tomlin bunging the refs this week, makes a change from KC I guess.
Even after a booth review they were out by a whole yard...
I'm not sure if they got the first down but the spot was fucking horrendous.
As was the rookie defensive lineman who jumped like a mong.
At least get the spot right then measure it.
They were a whole yard out and just thought fuck it that'll do, game on.
Stayed up to watch this one and have been rewarded. But for not accounting for RB dump offs for a drive, the defence has just shut Daniels down.
Offence has struggled through a lot of it, credit to WFT for doing the same, but Saquon is just that extra. Giants should have paid the man.
We just can't defend the run. Saquon winning it for Philly was nailed on.
Detroit
I love that Dan Campbell chooses violence every single time.
Pure entertainment. It'll be their undoing in the playoffs at some point but it's magnificent viewing.
That 2 point play call was horseshit.
Also, boneheaded from our defence on the Fields run (who had the first down). He was clearly going to run but we played it as a pass.
Imagine being called Dennis Waszak [I'm reading that as wazzock], and the insisting on calling your son the same.
What would you have gone for? Phil?
Leo or Walter.
Daniel Jones released, woof.
That Love contract is looking a bad deal too.
Scary Terry
Edit: The Commanders :face:
:nono:
Just got in (5:30pm kick off? fuck sake lads), why is Paul fucking Merson in the studio?
That ending from Da Bears
Oh boy. Shit like that gets you fired.
Gagging to be fired.
Even if he were right (he's not), you don't throw your rookie QB under the bus like that.
He made Bears history lol.
Raiders center just fucked them hard, fuck me.
Refs helped too, surely it's a false start which would have made the fumble moot.
That was a nasty hit on Trevor Lawrence.
Absolutely brutal.
Cousins benched. Penix in.
So it’s either completely justified, taking a first round qb after locking in Kirk, or that decision paying itself back by destroying your chances with Kirk from the off. Either way, fireworks in Atlanta I imagine and a lot of guaranteed money sitting on the bench.
Cousins has been shit lately but they made a lot of noises about letting Penix sit for a long time like Rodgers did. They've lost their divisional lead to Tampa Bay now but they should really be winning two of their last three (NY Giants and Carolina), although Tampa Bay will realistically think they should win all three of theirs, so is this them giving up (or rather, not caring) on the playoffs? They've got to beat Washington and hope Tampa Bay fluff their lines just once, because Atlanta hold the tiebreaker, so it's hardly the longest of shots that they make it.
Even with Cousins tragic form, you'd back him over the rookie to make a game winning drive in a crunch game, surely.
Fuck the Steelers.
Which is a bit mental really. Penix has actually looked quite good so far, a lot better than love, fields, richardson etc when they had their first go.
The falcons have just basically wasted the chance to build the roster with the low rookie salary by chucking it in the bin with cousins.
Would be brilliant if they lost to the giants though.
Can imagine cousins will do them absolutely zero favours. Would be great if he went to Carolina on a minimum salary, or New Orleans just to fuck them up in division.
The Lions
What a fake play that was.
This Netflix coverage is dogshit.
Good first half for us.
Lamar looking sharp.
He's bonkers.
Give him the MVP.
The fuck was that? :D
A bunch of the college playoffs tonight.
Texas v Arizona state
Georgia v notre dame
And probably the pick of the bunch is Oregon v Ohio state
Georgia v ND not happening now.
This skattebo dude having an absolute day for Arizona state.
Texas are not looking like a championship team, just so inert. They were up big within about 5
Minutes and have done nothing since.
https://i.imgur.com/YZSXHCV.png
My playoff bracket predictor.
Bucs over Commanders. Get out.
Also, Lamar was named the All Pro first team QB yesterday with 30 first placed votes out of 50.
It almost certainly means he's going to get the MVP award as they're the same voters and it's incredibly rare that they have a different QB winning the MVP.
I put £3 on him to win it a few weeks ago when he drifted to 8s which isn't too shabby.
Josh Allen was the odds on favourite before the All Pro roster was announced but that quickly flipped before betting sites took the market down.
Houston with an American flag the size of the whole pitch ffs.
#Justice4Josh

Stop. Picking. The. Bucs.
Respectfully as an Eagles fan, no. :D
Stroud hasn't been the same since Tank Dell got injured.
Clearly affected him massively.
https://i.ibb.co/PmTz2dN/the-owl.png
Got to be a homer and ride the hope before it crumbles away tonight in Baltimore.
Oh, and go Bucs @Ben
Texans have to thank their defence for this game.
Chargers were looking nifty and the Texans offence were all over the place but they kept them in it.
Edit: What a nutty game.
Lamar and Derrick Henry
Got a little scared in the third quarter but that first half was magic.
Herbert more interceptions yesterday than in the whole of the regular season.
Love a fake punt.
Eagles offense not looking too sharp through 3 quarters of this. Defence has handed them several turnovers and they've only made one count. Very much reminds me of the WFT team of the other week.
Hurts has been out for best part of a month so it is understandable. Just hope it gets over the line.
Refs gave the Chiefs 3 on that drive.
That is never roughing the passer.
For those who missed it:
Imagine losing on missed PATs. :face:
He's got money on the Chiefs.
Uber shanked his first field goal, almost missed the second and then fucked the PAT.
Refs are sucking Mahomes dick again.
Yeah, flag on that is laughable.
Insanely generous spot on that.
You could see they were scared to tackle him when he was running there and then the twat still dives trying to get a flag.
He's such a cunt.
Aye, it's painful to watch.
Hopefully someone just goes out and murderizes him at some point. Texans needed a FG/stop or probably a turnover there really.
Texans shitting their pants in the Redzone and Stroud hanging in the pocket for 10 minutes on crucial downs has fucked them hard.
Plus the refs ofc.
Jayden Daniels.
I haven't seen the game yet, but Twitter leads me to believe that the Lions lost what DBs they had left and that just left them unable to stop Daniels at all.
Should be a fun game tonight in quite possibly a lot of snow. For the right to host the NFC title game too.
I need a LA win. If Philly win we might as well not turn up. We’ve never been able to stop Barkley.
Wow, Commanders and Daniels are legit.
Fair fucking play.
Ravens/Commanders Super Bowl?
I'd even stomach the Ravens when it would mean no Chiefs.
Lets not go too far.
A good close first half there. Conditions not helping either team. I'd like to think our defense sees this through, but I will never count out Matty Stafford.
Ain't no snow in LA.
Saquon is disgusting.
What a catch.
Bollocks.
I thought the Rams had that.
False start and then the Centre just letting Jalen Carter right through (twice) fucked them.
Bad time for a rookie centre fail.
My poor heart. Carter making several teams in the draft look very silly tonight(and all season).
Seems like we won at a cost though. Quinyon likely out and who knows how banged up Hurts is.
The Bills are some team by the way. KC will not want Josh Allen turning up in this mood next week.
That's a sickener for the Ravens. Came in with the right gameplan, but just made too many mistakes. Lamar lead a perfect drive at the end there but Andrews might get left in Buffalo after that.
I'd have had more faith in Baltimore taking town KC.
Get your money on Philadelphia to win NFC Championship. Barkley 350 yards and 4 TDs against us this year. We can't stop him.
I'm with Giggles, I think Buffalo get outshitted by KC.
Mark Andrews, fucking hell.
I was waiting for your reaction before commenting. :D
Hard to blame the guy considering what he's done previously.
Barkley should be MVP.
Hopefully it goes to Josh Allen if it does go to a QB.
It wont.
Lamar was the All Pro first team QB. He got 30 first choice votes out of 50 and those 50 are the same who vote for the MVP.
I do agree that Barkley should get it though.
The regular season only stuff irks me. Most Valuable Player should be someone who contributes to success.
Jackson generally played great throughout the season but was part of a team that lost six games and he made two big errors when the stakes were at their highest. Nobody is remembering this Baltimore season.
At this point there should be 5-10 players ahead of him in the reckoning. But the criteria is what it is so whatever.
It just seems a bit baffling really. If he was really that extraordinary, why haven’t the ravens even been in the superbowl?
Flacco got the ravens a Super Bowl, so the organisation is clearly well run.
Barkley has game after game just been unplayable. What more would he have needed to do?
Lamar has had a good season no doubt, and everyone knows he’s dangerous. But everyone knows how to stop him or limit his capabilities and when it really comes down to it, in the games that matters, he hasn’t done it.
Allen hasn’t put up enormous stats but he has that bills team executing, like brady had at the patriots.
At some point Lamar needs to win a Super Bowl or it’s all a bit pointless.
I love that Washington just go for it on every 4th down.
Taking half the first quarter of the clock is one way to settle down the home fans.
I don’t really mind who wins this one, but I really need to bills to turn up in arrowhead.
Saquan or Daniel’s vs Josh Allen is a Super Bowl of interest.
Another chiefs dub, when having a season where they are just grinding games without really blowing them away would be a bit underwhelming.
Saquon is just bonkers.
Good start for the Redskins defence.
#ThankYouGiants
It's just normal for Barkley to burn us at this point. I'm not even mad.
Remind me again why Saquan isn’t mvp favourite?
He just trucks every team.
Dyami Brown reverting back to shitness.
Good hustle lads.
Shame they put this one on in the watchable slot.
Henry is a monster too. Surprised he hasn’t grabbed it at some point.
It’s just a QB award really.
How many TDs and highlights would a RB need to do at this point? Barkley touches close to the all time rushing record, is probably the best player on the field for how many of the eagles games this season? Now smashing in TDs in playoffs.
Super Bowl MVP if they make it there though most likely so at least he’d get an award.
Tress Way throwing a DIME.
Shame for Washington that holding was allowed on that play. Felt like a stop would have been big.
Ha, the one who can’t get his team over the hurdle when it matters.
Brown fully started that. Could be a big stand there.
Refs a bit shit on the drive there.
Missed a clear hold and then on the TD play both should have been flagged not just Lattimore.
:face:
Washington shooting themselves in the feet.
Well this has been entertaining.
You’d think after the lions imploded with turnovers the redskins would realise that they may want to play a clean game here.
Well this is an implosion of epic proportions.
Daniels is going to keep them in it. We need to grind some clock and keep the scoreboard ticking. These injuries really adding up though.
Thats about perfect.
Ekeler :face:
This offense is just letting Daniels down.
He looks ridiculously talented, especially for a rookie.
Turnovers would get you. The eagles stumbling a bit this half, but the defence keeping them on top.
Hand it to Saquan.
Luvu the newest WFT mong.
What a second down.
It's no surprise really. We had a wobble mid-season so we knew something like this could be coming. Still, a great season overall. Getting to the Championship game in a rebuilding year (GM, HC, OC, QB all in their first year) is fantastic.
On the other hand, KC again.
This is where Barkley gets injured early in the game. I'm a Philly fan for one night.
It's probably blown up way more because it's such a thing now, but some of those calls were outrageous.
There was a very blatant Buffalo first down but somehow these refs called it short and didn't overturn.
Fly Eagles Fly then.
Fucking Chiefs and the refs.
Josh Allen must absolutely fucking hate mahomes.
At least Lamar hasn’t had that stumble so many times. Losing to the same team so many times must be brutal. Four out five years. Jesus.
Quite unlike the Bills to lose a massive play off game 4 straight times.
A shame it isn't them in the 'bowl as I think the result is near inevitable now.
Interesting thing to note is that 2 years ago the Chiefs and Eagles offensed their way to the big game. Since then both teams seem to have shifted towards a defense first kind of attitude.
I’d rather be the guy who fights against the generational quarterback than be the guy who racks up seasonal mvps and then blows it in the playoffs.
It’s sad they lost but I think Bills Mafia and Philly fans in New Orleans might have done more damage to the city than Katrina.
So I knew the Browns were in the shit because of the Watson contract. However, finding out that trading their best player in Myles Garrett takes them from 30 million over the cap to 46 million over the cap is truly impressive stuff. To even do the trade requires them to release other starters to offset the cap.
No wonder these Americans don't want relegation when you can run a team that makes 600 million a year this badly and the worst thing that can happen to you is you get to sign a top 3 prospect every year for the next 5 years.
Good to see Josh Allen get his flowers. Guy has easily been the best QB in the league this year.
Id have loved Barkley to have won it, but him getting OPOY is probably fair.
Finally the Sterling Sharpe crime is rectified.
Predictions for tonight then gents?
Would be nice to see Saquon run wild & get a ring, but it’s hard to pick against KC.
Can't see anything other than Kansas City. First time in years I haven't booked the Monday off for it so it'll no doubt be a classic.
Hoping for Philly, but that's not how it will have been scripted.
A bit of a weird situation. Two years ago both teams made it based on offense. This time the defences are the stars of the show.
I don't think Saquon gets anywhere near as loose as he did against WFT. I believe he only needs about 40 rushing yards to have the best complete season of any RB ever. I think the key is going to be what can Hurts do if/when they shut Saquon down. In the bowl 2 years ago he did everything he possibly could have in that game to win it, but the defense just couldnt get that stop. These days he has a bit of a tendency to hold onto the ball too long. Our kicker has also been on the struggle bus this year. He even missed what would have been a vital XP in the NFC game.
I think the difference will be that KC are used to winning those close games. Nearly all of their wins this year have been 1 score. Most of their squad has also at least 2 or 3 rings already. Whereas we only have the odd few remaining from 2018.
I can see something like 28-21 in favour of the Swifties and lots of Drake being called a pedo.
Been listening to a few preview podcasts while I’ve been out & about this afternoon & there were some themes that kept popping up.
- Slot battle could be important when the Eagles have the ball. Do they put Smith and/or Brown in there more? Does KC put McDuffie in there more? He’s blitzed from the slot a lot the last two times they’ve played so if he’s still on the outside do they send him from there or is Chamarri Conner blitzing instead?
- Could be a Dallas Goedert game
- On the other side of the ball, is Vic going to change the system at all? (probably not)
- Eagles should be targeting Mike Caliendo at LG. Does Jalen Carter move or is this a big Milton Williams game?
- KC should look at using tempo to trap Jordan Davis on the field & make the DBs have to communicate more
General consensus seems to be the Chiefs will nick it because they’re inevitable, but it will probably come down to turnovers & whether Philly can hit a few big plays.
It does feel like a 27-24 / 23-20 kinda game but I think I’m going to be optimistic & say the Eagles will get it done.
I really hope the Chiefs don't win but it seems inevitable at this point.
This will be the first Super Bowl that I’ve not watched live since the year before Helmet Catch.
Test driving a car tomorrow morning then going on holiday. Fuck doing all that on no sleep just to see the Trump-Swift soap opera.
Aaron Rodgers dumped by New York.
When did the Beeb drop this?
Haven't ITV got it now, and haven't they had the highlights for a while? Sure I saw J Bell doing a Bourbon Street walk through during the Liverpool game.
Yeah, it's ITV who have the rights.
There aren't words to describe how bad the singing of their anthem always is. Andy Reid looks like he's had a lobotomy.
Why was Twitter chimping out about them not singing the national anthem, when they have - in fact - sung the national anthem?
What are those melts boycotting exactly?
‘Fletch’ is fucking everywhere :D
Here we go
This has been the perfect first half so far. I can't quite believe it.
I parlayed both QBs to make an int with the Chiefs to win :(
Mahomes coming back now would confirm Brady level elite stuff.
Well that didn’t go as expected.
He looked like a guy off the street in that half. If he comes back from this, have him crowned the GOAT.
As someone who likes Kendrick and has seen him live. His sound people have once again fucked up his mix. It’s so quiet.
How the same person who did the Compton Pop Up show also did this is so bad.
lol at the NFL saying he can do the song but you can’t call with a pedophile.
Such a shame I'm missing this because I'd be at half mast judging from the score.
I never want this to end.
Absolute mauling. One of the most one-sided Superbowl games of all time.
Holy shit definitely wasn't expecting to wake up and see that scoreline.
Delighted for that little kermit fucker
Chiefs bringing some respectability to the scoreline.
At 40-6, Eagles just took their foot off the gas.
What a game.
Beautiful.
Neither of them back next year please. Could do with a bit of variety & ideally a really competitive game with some drama.
Just had a look & the last time we had a SuperBowl without the Chiefs, Eagles, Patriots or Rams was the Broncos/Panthers in 2016 - Chiefs and/or Eagles have been in 6 of the 9 since.
Give me Miami/Washington next year.
Was fearing things when that early OPI call went against Brown, but even from watching the first three drives, which is all I made until going to bed, you could see Philly were very much up for it.
Osi's prediction on the ITV coverage was a thing of beauty.
The chiefs could play 3 more seasons and not manage a poorer performance than that.
Saquan.
MVP. And a big fuck you to the giants front office.
https://local12.com/news/nation-worl...in-minor-abuse
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC/WSYX) - A Franklin County jury has found former Pittsburgh Steelers running back and Groveport native Le'Veon Bell liable for $25 million in damages for rape and sexual assault. The case, brought to the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas last year, involves allegations that Bell engaged in nonconsensual sexual relations with his younger cousin when she was a minor. The woman, who is seven years younger than Bell, claimed the abuse spanned a decade.
Bell's brother, La'Vonte Bell, is also implicated and has been ordered to pay $11 million in damages. Le'Veon Bell has denied the allegations. His attorney, Thomas W. Shaffer, told TMZ Sports, "My client adamantly denies any and all allegations that have been lodged against him. Further, he was never served with a civil complaint or any documents."
