Got my first potential interview for a SaaS company lined up.
Congrats.
Holy shit a double sized keg of Carling might be the heaviest thing in the entire world.
Roll it, surely? Or is the doorway too narrow?
I can't even fathom the existence of a double keg of Carling. Where is the demand coming from? Who drinks that shite?
He did say it was a proper dive.
The "whatever is cheapest mate" people.
Stella isn’t in the same bracket, it’s a bit more pricey (and palatable). My local dive sells both Fosters and Carling (I think Carling is 10p more expensive) and still Carling is by far the most popular.
Different world up north.
Yeah most casual drinkers think Stella is too expensive.
I'm writing a report in word and i want to hyperlink to a particular tab within a separate spreadsheet. Does anyone know how I do it?
I think there's just a lot of demand for generic lager. I never find Carling to really be much different to most tap lagers. I can see a time for it although I don't have lager all that often (mostly as I go to the pub a lot more in the winter).
I think canned Carling and Fosters are infinitely worse than their draft version which colours people's opinions of it. Carling isn't great but it's not Skol.
Admittedly, I have only ever had the canned variety. Warm too. That may colour my view slightly.
The only other sales guy in my team isn't going in to the office again after being shouted at (shit you not) at his weekly 121 performance plan review in which the HR person/PA takes notes. :D
Neither of us have done any work this week at all; him through anger and dismay and me through...well I've no idea what I'm doing.
So it's looking likely it'll just be me very shortly. And also they're not letting me take my Dublin holiday that I've already booked due to a company wide contract/project nobody told me about. I'm going regardless, obv.
Bet you don’t.
You can borrow his suit.
Is he flying Aer Lingus?
My boss has just sent to me a long list for the handover. Fucking lol at it. As if I'm going to be scheduling "new" things you knob.
Just keep agreeing to do it. The longer the list of unfinished / unstarted shit you leave behind the better.
Hahaha they sent out a letter on my behalf to 91 companies within a 60 mile radius of my house and they put the wrong stamp on so people are having to pay to receive the letter.
Already had one official complaint so far...
:D how is this company still in existence?
My wife's employer originally told people they couldn't have thursday as a bank holiday as it was outside of their contracted leave, but people could request it as a holiday if they wanted to use their holiday allowance. Today they have told the admin department they are off thursday whether they like it or not, burn a holiday or take it unpaid. This company turned over £100m last year :D
What companies like that don't appreciate, is that the morale lost when they act like that will go on to cost them more than just honouring the day would have.
Currently looking to move jobs. I've found two jobs which I'd much prefer to my current role. One is a fair bit better and the other is a 10/10 dream-level job. Let's call them 'better job' and 'dream job'. I could realistically be offered either/both of them.
If I apply for both and am successful, I'll most likely get offered the better job about a week before I even interview for the dream job. If I do that, and accept the better job but then ring them back to cancel my acceptance if I get offered the dream job, am I complete arsehole?
Both jobs are better than my current role which I really need to leave, so I want to apply for both to give myself the best chance possible of getting one of them. The better job starts in September so I'm hoping they'd have time to find someone else without too much issue.
I feel I should be cynical and go for both and just have that uncomfortable conversation with the better job if it comes to it, but I'm curious to hear people's thoughts on it.
Go for both. You'd be silly not to.
"After carefull consideration I have decided to decline your offer of employment. Your recruitment process has been RESURRECTED"
Would a company still hire you if some HR cretins decided a few days later to change their minds and promote someone instead ? Like fuck they would, so treat companies with the same contempt they'd treat you with. Go for both and if you manage to get both then take what suits you best.
Definitely go for both and have the decision to make. Why limit your chances?
I haven't turned my work laptop on since Friday 27th of May and nobody has noticed lol.
Going back after being off on holiday is so depressing, isn't it? I've done nothing this morning.
I've just spent my morning batting off everyone's sudden urgency to get shit done because they were unable to manage their time before fucking off for the kids' half term and then the long weekend.
I've put some sliced apple on a plate in the middle of the back garden to see what wildlife I can befriend.
I'm not back in the office again til Thursday.
Ps soz x
