Damien Williams has opted out.
Also Hockenson and Kenny Golladay have Covid or have been in close contact with someone who has/had it.
Marquise Lee (recently signed by the Patriots) and CJ Mosely have opted out.
Rodgers should opt out after the draft.
I know those ranking lists they do are bullshit but Mahomes at 4? :D
I know right. Very lucky to be that high.
Doug Peterson has the big 19.
:(
Stafford has the covid too.
It won’t.
It was going okay before the virus hit. But Vince would have been most likely losing more and more of his own money with it anyway, unless he wanted another AAF situation.

The Boncos.
Incredible :D
I've just suggested to my Washington FC supporting brother-in-law that since Denver now have two names we could trade them one for a player or picks or something.
I think the Washington Boncos has a certain refined dignity to it.
The Texans would outbid them anyway.
Guice was arrested on Domestic Violence charges an hour or so ago. Already released.
The Washington Boncos not fucking about.
Big 10 has pulled the pin for 2020.
Seahawks 'gamble' to hand over 2021 picks for Adams looks better now.
:harold:
Seems that Ngakoue will be traded within the next couple of days.
If that is indeed a second rounder and not two picks then Jags have fucked it right up. Raiders apparently were offering pick 19 the day before the draft but the Jags rejected as they wanted Oakland's 12th pick.
Ron Rovera has the big C, though it's apparently a fairly treatable version.
Sounds like we might be cutting Earl Thomas.
He was sent home yesterday for throwing punches at Chuck Clark (our other starting safety) and isn't at practice today.
Rumour is that he doesn't have many friends in the locker room and they'd rather he went.
Thomas is done. If we can't trade him well cut him.
And he's been cut.
$22m for one season.
$32m if he wins his grievance.
He an Ozzie new some singing? Or was this one on the new person?
EDC signing.
He was good last year but he's clearly a bit of a twat.
He's also missed some meetings and been late to others too.
WE HAVE FOOTBALL THIS WEEKEND!
Austin Peay vs Central Arkansas 2am Sunday morning. Central Arkansas have a corner called Robert Rochell who’s getting draft hype because he’s a freak athlete, so there’s at least one player worth watching.
Central arkansas are playing NDSU later in the year with one of the top QB prospects are they not?
Prime time team.
Yep, NDSU could have a bunch of guys drafted this year. Trey Lance is a likely to be a top 10 pick despite being a redshirt freshman last season (and racking up 42 TDs to 0 INTs), both tackles (LT Dillon Radunz & RT Cordell Volson) will get drafted - Radunz could even be another first rounder - and then they also have WR Christian Watson & CB Josh Hayes who could be day three guys. Also had Jabril Cox at LB last season but he’s transferred to LSU now.
Seems a bit weird for Lance to play one game this season - if he has a bad game against Central Arkansas it could crush his draft stock & even a good game isn’t going to give him much of a boost - but hopefully they’ll find a way to add in some more games or he’ll just opt out & declare.
CSU also play UAB in a couple of weeks, and they have a lot of potential draft picks too, so could be a good few weeks to watch Central Arkansas games.
I don't really watch the NFL but started playing madden recently on EA access, is Andy Isabella any good IRL? He's an absolute don with me with the Cardinals.
And yes I'm playing with the Cards because I'm an unimaginative twat that watched the All or Nothing and I'd love to win a ring for Fitz and the clearly closeted homosexual owner who cried about his dead dog.
He’s the famous Josh Rosen trade pick who, I think, has done absolutely fuck all in real world NFL.
They also now have Larry, Kirk and the newly acquired DeAndre Hopkins ahead of him. He'll be lucky to find any game time really.
Fuck sake, I’d completely forgotten about the Johnson Hopkins trade. FML.
Second and a fifth (which could turn into a third) for Ngakoue. Going to the Vikings.
Jags turned down the 19th pick the day of the 2020 draft from the Raiders...
To be honest I'm not sure there were really any players that went between Chaisson & Shenault that were so much better than what they could potentially get from two top 100 picks next year for it to make a lot of difference - at least not ones Jacksonville would've been likely to have picked.
9, 19 & 20 would've been great ammo to have been able to move around the board with though, and if they end up with a late 2 & a 5 it'll be pretty rubbish.
Jags have waived Fournette.
Good use of the 4th overall pick 3 years ago.
Problem is, 19th was a concrete spot which they could have used to potentially strike gold with. The second and fifth are likely going to be near the back end of said drafts as this makes the Vikings stronger.
Also, they knew Covid was a problem at the time and they could have thought about the possible ramifications. The main one being that it could have disrupted the college season and as such made scouting for the 2021 draft a lot trickier.
Jags were greedy and got punished. David Caldwell sucks.
We have a proper day of college football tomorrow  Can’t remember what the early game is, but we have SMU & Memphis playing in the later two games, so it’ll be nice to see them both smash some jobbers.
AP released by the redskins*
There’s three games in bt sport tomorrow which theyve named “CFL” for some reason.
Not sure any of them will be any good, but I’ll watch / record them anyway because FOOTBALL.
*Washington.
Bears to name Trubisky as the starter. How bad must Foles have been?
Why are Sky not showing anything from the 6pm and 9pm Sunday games?
Rosen waived in one of the least surprising moves of the off season.
Someone will plonk him on their practice squad if not roster.
When will nick mullens get a shot somewhere? He must be getting sick of being a backup.
Watson got paid.
Kirk herbstreit blubbering like a child about social injustice.
Christ that was uncomfortable.
Shaquem Griffin cut :(
So we've only kept 2 TE's on our roster, Mandrews and Nick Boyle.
Apparently "Project Pat" has added another position and will be our 3rd TE.
FB/TE/DT/Hero
Why are Sky not showing anything from the 6pm and 9pm Sunday games?
They are. They're on their new Sky Sports NFL channel.
They'd want to update their listings a week before the season.
It's listed on Virgin Media.
Dolphins/Patriots at 6 and Buccaneers/Saints at 9.
That's good. Sky haven't bothered yet.
So the Raiders take Bowden with a third rounder a few months ago and have now sent him and a 6th in return for a 4th rounder :cab:
So net result of two trades is Bowden and a 6th for McMillan and a 5th.
Clowney heading to Nashville.
:(
Ian will be thrilled to know the Broncos are off to a flying start. Or rather Von Miller may be out for the season before it begins.
S'fine, just gives Chubb more room to beast it.
So long as his ACL doesn't fall off again, of course.
Skip Bayless showing he's a cunt yet again.
He's come and said that Dak admitting he suffered from depression after his brother committed suicide isn't leadership material and shows weakness...
Football's back fellas.
Any predictions for Superb Owl? I reckon MVPat, Oldman Brady or Newton :sherlock:
Anthem Watch has gotten off to a bad start.
David Johnson with more TD's than Hopkins this season.
Tremendous trade by BoB.
Well, if that first game is anything to go by Houston aren’t going to be a very good offense this season - line still letting guys through too easily, Watson was a bit rusty, and both D. Johnson’s looked slow as fuck. Badly timed penalties on both sides of the ball didn’t do them any favours either.
You’d imagine both teams will improve over the next few weeks, but it’s not an encouraging start to like without Hopkins.
Oh, and despite my boy Clyde racking up the fantasy points I though he was underwhelming too - I know he’s not Derrick Henry but he barely broke any tackles & got stopped dead on contact every time, which will probably raise some questions about how much work he should get in short yardage.
Cool to see L’Jarius Snead get a pick in his first game too, even if it was an absolute duck.
Yeah, I was a bit concerned with the Texans.
Fuller is a deep ball threat but a dropper, fells is old a lumbering, Akins looks promising and stills is stills. They’ve not really got a go to receiver.
David Johnson looked better than I thought he would, but he’s vastly overpaid and my opinion hasn’t changed. Terrible trade.
CEH isn’t ever going to be a bruiser of a back, you’re not going to be able to use him inside in short yardage, you really want him popping outside and weaving. He’s a great asset for them to have.
Also was a realisation that when I opted for mecole hard man over sammy Watkins in fantasy it was an error. Again. He’s never really going to break through is he? ☹️
#23 Iowa State & their QB Brock Purdy, who will probably be in the 2021 draft, just lost at home to unranked Louisiana, who had never beaten a ranked team on the road & (IIRC) had only beaten a ranked team at all once before, in 1996. Football is back
Louisiana do have some pretty good players though, to be fair.
Notre Dame/Duke & Florida State/Georgia Tech are probably the pick of the games on now, and then we'll have Clemson shitting on Wake Forest & Western Kentucky against Louisville, who might have the most dynamic QB/RB/WR trio in college football, and all of them are draft eligible (QB Micale Cunningham, RB Javian Hawkins & WR Tutu Atwell).
Jamie Collins is a mong.
Redskins are well in the Trevor Lawrence stakes and Haskins could well be the next Josh Rosen.
They are not looking tidy.
Common sense has not prevailed. Assume that rule was in to prevent dissent/malice. Rather than stupidly attempting to demo. Brutal sport and that’s going to generate a big fine/ban.
Adam gase time is limited.
JK Dobbins
Rewatch the replay. Ref moves into him.
It’s an overzealous referee. Player attempting to demo an illegal hit on him. Ref tosses him for minimal contact (initiated by the ref) using a rule designed to protect referees safety from aggressive players.
Gruden has been on the lockdown pies.
He was laughing at the ridiculousness.
However, it is what it is. I don’t give a fuck about Jamie Collins. He’s stupid to put himself in that situation anyway but I personally think he’s got a really tough deal there. Call it a penalty if you want, but ejection? Fuck off.
Thought the colts would be smashing the jags here. Backed them against the spread. Rivers seems a good fit for Indy but the jags aren’t as bad as everyone assumed, myself included.
Hot rod :(
Colts/Rivers suck.
17-0 the eagles were up. What in the fuck happened to wentz?
Colts looked bright early but have just faded. Going to be a tight season across the board I think. The jags, lions and redskins showing a bit of fight here.
Browns can’t really be judged vs lamar, bears need to switch to foles ASAP and Carolina are competitive.
Early doors.
Patriots are still absolutely horrid to watch though. Just a grind.
I need to shut the fuck up until games go final. Sheesh.
D'Andre Swift :face:
The Lions are some jokers.
Whilst I'm not really that surprised, I did think it was a bit off that more wasn't made of the fact that the second Patriots TD was clearly not a touchdown and that it was fairly obvious, from all angles, immediately, that that was the case.
I’ve just seen a high school play where they ‘pitched’ it 30 times then scored.
I’ll ask again, would it not be effective to actually play an NFL game like a Rugby match on running plays?
No.
If you fuck it up a defender could just scoop it up and run it back.
Do lateral plays happen? Yes, but they're usually saved for the last few seconds in a game when you're down by a score but a little too far out to just chuck it deep.
Ed Reed used to try laterals on his interceptions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FB21lXIV2zc
This is of course not counting possibly the most famous lateral of all time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXcGNVpblQ4

So after last week giving up 8 sacks to The Football Team, this week the Eagles O-line has a much easier time of it. They play the Rams who as we know, have absolutely nobody to worry to QB.
So in what may become a weekly feature, how many sacks does Wentz take today? Winner gets a virtual cookie.
Well that was frustrating for Denver. Driskel didn't always do himself any favours but the protection for him was pretty poor.
Game on the line down is definitely the time to not bother blocking the guy running straight at your QB.
Didn't see much of THE FOOTBALL TEAM but the bits I did looked like they had some hilarious coverage (or lack thereof) going on. Oh, I thought you had him . . .
*Hopkins saunters unopposed into the endzone*
Has everyone stopped watching this season?
Everyone's probably called it a day after that Cowboys comeback.
What the fuck were Atlanta doing with that onside kick? Why didn't one of their players just drop on it before it went 10? There were plenty of them around.
Sound.
Denver's growing injury list.
Blake Bortles IN.
Season saved!
Deion sanders moving into coaching at college at Jackson state.
Yep. No idea either.
LSU, Oklahoma, etc
More like OkLOLhoma, am I right?
LSU showing the expected regression as well - shockingly a guy who's been a backup for 4 years isn't as good as the guy who just had the greatest QB season in college football history.
EDIT: Defence looking solid though, even with Stingley out, although MSU's center isn't doing his team any favours with all the dodgy snaps & Costello looks a bit questionable.
Costello could’ve been picked all three times there from his own end zone.
The offence looks a shadow. No brady, no burrow, no elite receivers, no moss.
Apparently one of the freshman receivers is good. Not obvious as yet who..
Osirus Mitchell has played well for MSU so far, but not much else going right for them.
LSU receiver is probably Kayshon Boutte, as I've heard good things about his potential, although they do also have the second highest ranked TE ever in Arik Gilbert, who's also starting for them as a true freshman & has megahype with dynasty/devy Twitter.
Well, that looked easy.
Crazy how different teams look year to year.
Arkansas have Felipe franks now and gerogia who lost their transfer qb might be in trouble.
Your man from QB1 is starting at wake forest again though which is good. Sam hu-something?
That was lucky as fuck. Manziel esque throw it up and hope for the best.
Manziel had mike Evans, Brennan gets lucky.
Sam 'Shartman' Hartmann
Georgia might be the most chaotic QB room in college football - lose Fromm & have Jamie Newman transfer in then opt out, and JT Daniels transfer in but get hurt, only for the third guy who's been there all along to end up as the game one starter & look like a shambles.
LSU starting to get some rhythm going now - Arik Gilbert with a couple of big plays too.
Arik Gilbert is the one I was thinking of. Herbstreit was going crazy over him.
Brennan looks like a qb that should’ve just transferred to the la tech to play.
Oh boy :vomit:
The offensive line play in this game is giving them a run for their money though.
So today we had:
- Oklahoma lose to Kansas State for the second year in a row, this time throwing away a 20+pt lead
- Texas squeak past Texas Tech in overtime, weeks after Texas Tech almost lost to Houston Baptist.
- Georgia have to go to their fourth QB to beat Arkansas
- LSU losing to Mississippi State
But don't worry, Alabama are steamrolling Missouri. Think we can safely assume COVID hasn't actually changed anything & it'll still be Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State cruising to the playoffs & stomping whichever jobber team gets to join them in the semi finals.
-
Man, I've been on the Miami/D'Eriq King hype train this offseason, so seeing how they've started the year has been really encouraging, but holy fuck Florida State are such a shambles. You hoped it would get better with Mike Norvell in there now after all the success he had at Memphis, but he didn't even get to week one without a load of problems, then they lose to Georgia Tech despite blocking three kicks, and they look garbage again so far tonight. Something is really broken in there.
That was after already running two consecutive reverses on the previous drive that both also got immediately smashed for huge losses. They're embarrassing themselves.
Jadeveon clowney what are you doing?!
Trubisky finally benched.
Does Shaun Gayle have some sort of weird back patch of hair or is that a shadow or something?
God I love the Falcons.
Denver off to a shambolic start here.
What a DKhead.
It's a pity the Denver D never gets off the fucking field because I think they're decent and Harris has been great today.
Our secondary is a mess - just racking up flags on every important down. Kamara & the O-line just carrying the team at the minute.
Hasn't started too well but Duvernay
Edit: Mahomes absolutely fisted us.
Our offence wasn't great, especially Mandrews who couldn't catch anything today but our defence which looked like a serious unit in the first two games looked horrific. We blitz, Mahomes found a man. We sat off, Mahomes found a hole etc etc.
Another season-ending injury for Denver, this time Jurrell Casey.
What're our options liable to be for the top few picks in the '21 draft?
The '21 draft could be a complete mess. Could be a lot of shots in the dark there.
However if the Broncos do tank, they could add in Trevor. He'd be a big shot in the arm. They have great receiving talent and a decent run game. Defence isn't bad either but it just can't get off the field.
I don't think we'd have challenged to win the division this year but if everybody had been fit I thought we had an outside chance of a wildcard.
The o-line needs the most work but every other unit has some talent in it. So many key injuries though. It's rough.
Titans Steelers post poned.
Guess who has Derrick Henry and James Conner in fantasy?
:moop:
Broncos / Jets was a bit sloppy as you might expect but nice to get the first win on the board and I thought Rypien looked pretty good. A bit unlucky on one interception but the Jeudy TD could have been a pick another day so maybe that all balanced itself. I liked how quickly he reacted when the run play broke down and he made sure to get ahead of Gordon for a block for what led to the last TD as well.
He was a draft twitter hype boy when he came out so it was cool to see him on the field. Only watched the highlights but it seems like he was pretty much what he was expected to be - bit of a weak arm, pretty accurate underneath, decent athlete & not quite up to NFL speed mentally.
That Darnold run was filthy - think that’s three weeks running he’s pulled a properly special play out of his arse. You really have to wonder what he could be if he wasn’t in the worst situation imaginable.
Also, shoutout to Tim Patrick. Nobody ever talks about him but the guy can play. Gotta be one of the best depth receivers in the league.
The only filthy thing about that Darnold run was the defending.
And yeah Tim Patrick is good, I think with Sutton out he'll end up a pretty important player for us this year.
Cam has 'Rona.
Top of the Division.
Jesus.
Mullens Pick 6 was a thing of beauty.
lol at the refs screwing the Patriots for once.
Cousin is 19 and a student in Texas at A&M. Got a ticket for the Florida game at the weekend.
More jealous than you can imagine. Shame it’s not filled to the brim like usual but still great.
Live on bt sport espn right now. Mon.
What a win.
I was out last night so only saw the first half, but that will probably torpedo Florida now. Considering how TAMU looked against Alabama last week, and the Clemson/Miami score, it doesn’t seem like that gap between the big three & everyone else has gotten any smaller. Looks like Georgia might be the team to be sacrificed in the playoffs at this rate - definitely seems like they’re still the team with the best chance of getting one of them, especially if Stetson Bennett can be Jake Fromm or JT Daniels can get healthy & play like a 5 star QB.
Also, RIP LSU, who might end up unranked this week, and shoutout to Arkansas, who look like they might actually be competitive for the first time in a while.
Patriots/Broncos OFF.
Titans facility is shut down too.
Dak's foot was facing the wrong way.
Watching the Tennessee game & Jarrett Guarantano has just throw two pick sixes almost back to back :uhoh: It’s amazing Tennesse can’t get anyone better than him, they’d probably be pretty good if they had someone even vaguely competent.
Unsurprisingly, he’s been benched (hardly the first time).
THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY THREW A PICK AS WELL :roflol:
Louisville Norte dame is on sky sports nfl right now, for anyone interested
Should've been watching UCF/Memphis instead - as you might expect, they're just going up & down the field on each other. Over 1000 combined yards of offense & they haven't even hit the fourth quarter yet :D
Currently leading 26-14 midway through the fourth quarter against Ole Miss, who put up 48pts against Alabama last week.
Arkansas, NC State & Boston College might be three of the most impressive coaching jobs in the Power 5 at this point of the season. Also worth mentioning Liberty, who just beat an ACC team for the first time ever to go 5-0 (they knocked off Syracuse, who have been a disaster so far), and BYU, who genuinely might go undefeated this season as their schedule is pretty weak since they had to reschedule basically all of it as they're independent so the best team they'll play all year is Houston, who they just beat.
Speaking of BYU, Zach Wilson has been on fire - before the season I had him down as returning to school next year but if he keeps playing like this he'll be a day two guy (someone on ESPN just had him as QB2 behind Trev, who just MURDERED Georgia Tech in a half). Bo Nix, on the other hand, continues to cement his position in the Jarrett Guarantano Disaster Zone.
EDIT: Holy shit Matt Corral threw 6 INTs today, two of which were pick sixes :D No wonder Arkansas ended up winning that one
Melvin Gordon is inactive due to strep throat.
Imagine not being able to play because your throat is a bit sore...
Cam finally jumped on a fumble against the Broncos.
Poor Cam. :harold:
Even though I have Jeudy in fantasy, I want the Broncos to beat Cam's Patriots purely with field goals.
Fucking hell having to take all those field goals is about to cost us.
Would also help if Drew Lock would stop throwing it deep into double coverage.
This is a top-tier bottle-job we're aiming for here. Attempted absolutely nothing when there was a big comfy lead to fall back on and now it's closer we're trying all sorts of mad deep throws. For fuck's sake.
Get fucked Cam.
Thank fuck, was convinced we were about to chuck that.
The defence is pretty good though, if we can get a bit more production out of the offence then there's potential.
Buttception? Butt Pick?
It's Tua Time.
Christ that cowboys game was a tough watch.
Kyler is just a regen of Lamar isn’t he? Cowboys wideouts did their best to help Prescotts contract negotiations...
Sharing this just for the second clip where an absolute UNIT destroys a ref
Cracking move.
Vikings giving the season the heav ho
Can they ditch cousins at the end of the year and remain in the Trevor stakes?
https://overthecap.com/what-can-the-...-kirk-cousins/
A trade would be their best option.
I'd imagine they'd try to do an Osweiler type trade where they give a team some draft picks to absorb his cap before cutting him.
ffs
There's tanking, and then there's the sort of shit that should see the entire division demoted to, I dunno, the CFL or something.
Washington's comedy 2 point conversion last week, now this, it's all getting a bit unseemly.
Both of those teams are really bad.
Dallas aside, they shouldn’t win a game out of division.
Dallas should really be TANKING years ago.
They’ve got too much talent on offence to do it effectively.
3 or 4 very competent receivers, and a qb who knows how to manage a game. Zeke is struggling right now but he’s elite too. If they fail, it’s on the coaching.
Although the defence is absolute shit.
I looked up to see what that Phonics Tweet was about.
That doesn't even look like a trip, it's like he's just run out of puff and fallen down.
Trying to run faster than your legs will take you. Like a fat kid running downhill towards an ice cream van.
Fat kids don't make rookie mistakes like falling down when there's ice cream at stake, fool.
Whichever way you spin it it's pretty embarrassing for a professional athlete.
It’s embarrassing for a non-athlete person above the age of ten.
Jaylen waddle is crocked. Annoying.
Since when was Mac jones a competent qb?
Penn state with the classic “scored by accident rather than taking a knee” and then go on to lose. #8 no more.
Yeah, that whole thing was fantastic. The diving conversion from Penix was one hell of a play. I also didn’t realise they were without Journey Brown this season, which sucks.
Kinda surprised to see Michigan & Cincinnati both win so handily, but at least Ohio State showed up eventually.
Also, Myles Brennan might have spent two years sitting behind Joe Burrow just to lose his job to a true freshman :D
Might do a top 25 later since I’ve got nothing better to do with my Sunday.
Remember folks the games kick off at 5pm today. Clocks rolled back for us, but not in america
Baker throwing a pick (with his first pass) and OBJ attempting to tackle the defender and injuring himself in the process is such a Browns thing.
Roughing the passer against the falcons with an absolute monster hit/sack. What?
Are people allowed to tackle QBs at all any more?
The Falcons
Tg3 :(
This game is fucking frustrating.
Melvin Gordon...
Good work Gordon, you absolute cretin.
It's frustrating to be keeping Mahomes pretty quiet but just finding so many other ways to chuck away points, drives, etc.
Chad fucking Henne. The final indignity.
His last game in Cleveland?
Ugh.
Trevor Lawrence has Covid-19 so is our, so we are going to find out how good DJ U is.
If he’s as good as he’s hyped to be, we will get confirmation Clemson will be a force for 2 or 3 more seasons minimum.
He’ll be good. They’ll just run a slightly different offence - bit more Etienne, sprinkle in some more QB runs & they’ll probably go deep a decent amount as he’s got a cannon. I doubt we’ll even notice much of a difference against the ACC, will just be an issue if Trev isn’t back for Notre Dame.
BT Sport has a decent run of games tonight - Cincinnati/Memphis, LSU/Auburn then either Mississippi State/Alabama or Penn State/Ohio State
Yeah, spotted penn state v Ohio state. Going to record that to see how Justin fields looks.
When do Clemson concede 27 points? That’s on the defence surely?
They were 1.03 this morning on the money line. 1.03 without their starting qb. Against BC who are not a force.
Yeah, BC had a 93 yard fumble returned for a TD, and they scored on one drive after they faked a QB sneak with their field goal team, so they've been pulling out all the stops, but Clemson are back to 28-26 coming to the end of the third quarter & they have the ball, so could be time for the ominous music.
Yeah I’ve shoved it on espn player (that I thought I’d cancelled)
Bc qb does not look bad and they’re moving it pretty well. Closer game than anyone would’ve imagined.
Cincinnati seem to get the least hype of the major AAC teams, but they've stomped Memphis & SMU in consecutive games & they look like they might be the only one with a defence. Ahmad Garnder is a stud, and they have a handful of other guys who will probably get drafted too. I'm still not sure where I stand on Desmond Ridder, but he's definitely draftable & plenty good enough to keep them competitive against pretty much anyone.
They have Houston next week & UCF two weeks after, so you'd imagine if they can take those they might end up running the table (do also have Temple left to be fair). Imagine if we have Cincinnati & BYU both going undefeated & having to be talked about as legit playoff contenders :D
This Clemson game looks like it's going down to the wire. Travis Etienne now the all time ACC rushing leader, and he's definitely got better as a receiver. Dude is gonna be a first rounder, especially when he runs a 4.35 forty.
He’s a stud.
CEH and Deandre Swift showing exactly why. He’ll go in that 25-35 range I’d imagine.
Fast, can catch, smart, dedicated.
I have a bad feeling he'll end up a Falcon :uhoh:
Clemson hold on in the end, while Michigan immediately shit the bed after providing some brief hope they might be okay this year.
Confirmed that Trevor will be out for the Notre Dame game next week. Should've been expected given the ACC have a mandatory 10 day window for people to sit out after a positive diagnosis, but at least everyone will get a week to practice saying Uiagalelei I suppose. They're gonna need to know for the next couple of years.
Can imagine chase Brice for one whiff of him in practice before jumping ship to Duke.
LSU must be one of the worst defending national champions ever.
Yeah, LSU look really bad on both sides of the ball. You can kinda forgive the offence since they lost almost literally the entire thing, but it's surprising to see the defence so bad when they do still have some dudes there.
The Clemson QB room for next week is probably a billion points in scrabble - DJ Uiagalelei & Taisun Phommachanh.
EDIT: Congratulations Texas on ensuring that the Big 12 doesn't have anyone in the playoffs this year.
What the fuck is this? :D
Truly amazing.
A shame they pulled it back on review. But #71 is the hero of the play.
#71
What a don.
Yeah, they should’ve let it stand out of principle & credited the score to #71
This is also stupid.
Meanwhile, in the Florida/Missouri game...
Top 25 is sorted.
Toggle Spoiler
I've ranked the PAC-12 teams at the bottom of their respective tiers as they've not actually played yet, but those are the buckets I'd expect them to fall in over the next few weeks.
Great start for Lamar.
Looks like Ronnie Stanley has broken his leg/ankle :(
Cam Newton :harold:
:cab:
You can't not love somebody punching a dude with a helmet on.
I do love how the defender just couldn't be bothered to react.
No point in getting a broken hand yourself.
Also got a lot of time for the fella who ends up upside down like he's trying to lock in some sort of Octopus Stretch.
:rave:
I hope the Chargers never change.
They've cut away from Redzone to show an Ian Wright documentary...
And it's back.
Out of our game against the Colts.
Notre dame Clemson is on sky sports nfl tonight.
Normally bt but sky must have access to either the acc or notre dame
PAC-12 kicking off now although they’ve already had to cancel two of the games, so not ideal. USC against Arizona State is now & should be the most interesting game, then we also have Georgia/Florida in the middle set of games, which might decide who ends up in the last playoff slot.
Yeah. Interested to watch more Kyle trask.
Florida are pretty good and got humbled by a really good A&M win. Be interesting if A&M run the table and then are compared against a strong Florida team, whom they beat.
Tuddy on the first play for Georgia.
Good start. Terrible defence.
No chance harbaugh is at Ann Arbor next year.
Losing to Michigan state, again, last week and just got smashed by Indiana. RIP big blue.
Michigan & Penn State have both embarrassed themselves so far this season. Neither will be ranked when I do the next update on my top 25.
USC scraped by on late game heroics today, but Arizona State looked like they'll be able to give anyone in the PAC-12 a game again this year. Also, fucking hell Georgia :uhoh: Letting Justin Fields go looks worse & worse every week (not that they'd have used him effectively anyway if the stuff they did with him when they did have him was anything to go by).
Well, I guess Notre Dame are favourites for the final playoff spot now, although to be honest we should really have a play in game between them & Florida. Wisconsin & TAMU might be in contention as well. Can't wait for the rematch in the ACC Championship game when Trevor's back & Clemson beat them by 30.
Update for this week:
Toggle Spoiler
I nearly kept Clemson at the top despite the loss, as I still think they're the best team when Trevor's there, but you'd have to imagine that they'll end up as the #3 seed for the playoffs now, in which case they'll have to beat Ohio State & Alabama back to back, which might be enough to do it. I kept them ahead of OSU as I do think they'd be the favourites if they end up playing in the playoff semi finals - I'm not sure OSU are as good as they were last season.
The next tier is a massive bunch as, while Notre Dame & Florida are the clear favourites for the final playoff spot right now, they'll both have to play Conference Championship games against someone in the top tier, and if they both get crushed in those games it'll probably be enough to open the door for the PAC-12 if Oregon or USC manage to go unbeaten. Texas A&M could end up with an outside shot if their only loss is to Alabama, and Wisconsin have a shot if they can win the Big 10, while Cincinnati & BYU could be in the conversation if they stay undefeated & things break their way.
The Big 12 continues to do its best to be a complete mess, and they're inevitably all going to combine to ruin each other's chances, but if one of them can get their shit together they might have a tiny chance at sneaking in as the Conference Champion. Miami have a tiny chance if they can find a way into the ACC title game, and with Liberty knocking off a second ACC team this week I felt it was time to give the unbeaten small schools their spots. Indiana are the hype team of the Big 10, but they're in Ohio State's side of the conference, whereas Northwestern are on the Wisconsin side, so they've got a better chance at actually making the title game.
This might be the worst slate of college games I can remember - all of the interesting games have been postponed & we’re left with stuff like Penn State/Nebraska, Purdue/Northwestern & Notre Dame/Boston College as the most exciting options on the card.
Arkansas vs Florida might be interesting for the Felipe franks stakes (assuming he’s playing)
At what point does trask become a draft qb contender. Must be working his way towards day 2 now? He’s fucking massive so got the right physical attributes and he’s a fighter as a walk on.
He’s a bit fucked with Lawrence, fields and trey lance out there alongside the raft of qbs drafted the last few years.
I am (possibly deluding myself) telling myself Denver have a lot of talent, especially when you include all the injured players, but today has been bad.
I dunno what to make of Lock but today he hasn't even done his "crank it up when it's a shit position in the fourth quarter" bit so if he's not doing that then I'm not sure what he offers.
I suspect we stick with him for the season unless he goes properly off the deep end and then see if he shows significant signs of improvement before deciding what to do next off-season.
I know Sutton being out is a bummer but there's enough there that he could be doing better.
Hopkins is unreal.
Catches over 3 men whilst one of those has him in a headlock.
Yeah that's a daft touchdown.
That game was awful and further showcases why Greg Roman needs to be fired.
He refuses to adapt (last week was the first time he's done it in his life) and it makes us not only more predictable but he's actively not playing into Lamar's strengths.
It's like last year he borrowed someone else's playbook or had help in crafting it to make it play into Lamar's strengths but this year he was determined to go back to his bullshit play calls.
It's a torrential storm, we have a center who can't snap the ball and on a crucial 4th and 1 he calls a wildcat to Mark Ingram who is clearly still injured. Even if that ball had been snapped correctly we weren't getting the first down. The Pats knew how to play, just run the ball as it's not going to be easy to pass in that weather but Roman seems obsessed into trying to mould Lamar into a pocket passer who needs to throw the ball 40-50 times.
Also, I don't know if Roman is actively telling Lamar not to break out of the pocket or if Lamar is trying to prove to people he can pass but there were times when Lamar would have had an easy first down with his legs but kept it. He'd only really scramble out if the Pats put pressure on him which wasn't that much as they were determined not to rush the passer as much so they can keep an extra man or two downfield.
That Roman can't see that our team is so much more expansive when we run first (and has been since Flacco was here) is insane. It opens up so many more options.
Oh and Dobbins and Gus look so much better than Ingram right now (he was clearly still hurt last night) yet Roman seems to actively hate them and will lean on Ingram so much more.
Face raked, ouch.
Face rake or not that's a wank wrap up for the money he's on.
Joe Burrow out.
They didn’t show a replay but seems like a knee ligament.
Shame.
Yep. That replay does not look good at all.
Done for the season.
lol.
Uh oh, Fitzmagic is on. :uhoh:
I bloody love Justin Simmons.
Christ this halftime show is shit.
Are Washington Football Club and their quarterback with a false leg going to win the NFC East?
The whole division should get some sort of punishment for being collectively awful.
It's swings and roundabouts though. I remember my first full season watching (2010) and the NFC West were rancid and the Seahawks took it 7-9 and the first team to make the playoffs with a losing record. A season later the division had become one of the most competitive and the Seahawks won a Super Bowl in 2013.
Also, Lamar is out of the game on Sunday as he's tested positive. We're absolutely fucked, we have 11 (IIRC) on the Covid list along with so many injuries.
We have our 2nd choice QB (our 4th choice is his backup), our two main RB's along with most of our O-Line out as well as a smattering of defenders. Steelers are going to murder us.
RG3.
I knew something bad was coming the way the clip was setup but this was worse than anything I pictured as a possibility.
I'm sure they'll be using fans come the Steelers game.
Matt Patricia has been fired.
rip.
That's 20 on the list so far (some are close contracts_ and apparently another player tested positive this morning so that will be 21.
We'll be using fans to fill out the 53 come Tuesday.
Royce Freeman at QB
Mark Andrews has now tested positive.
Call me crazy but I don't think Hinton is good as a QB.
Yeah this isn't even comedically bad, it's just "I feel sorry for him" bad. He's woefully underequipped for this and it's just painful watching him having to go through it.
Led to a pretty pacey game though.
More interceptions than completions is a brilliant stat.
Still better then Manning’s final year.
Dobbins and Ingram are now eligible for the game :)
Unreal catch.
Brb ordering Hurts jersey and boarding the hype train.
That is absolute horseshit.
I’m so mad at that ending. That game deserved a better finish.
What a mental game. Absolutely incredible.
A better finish? They weren't going to go down the field and score a TD, it was all about giving LORD Justin Tucker the greatest kicker of all time a chance and he easily wrapped it up.
Lamar running out on 4th and 5 after spending 30 minutes or so in the locker room (seemingly shitting his pants) to throw it to Marquise Brown who had been appalling all game for a TD was something else.
And everyone likes seeing the Browns lose.
https://www.nfl.com/news/former-rave...ses-away-at-28
Former Ravens RB Taliaferro has died at 28.
Zo :(

This was a first down...
Guess the refs just love Brady too much.
And the spot was insanely generous in the first place.
Derrick Henry has some competition.
I do like it when a lineman gets the ball and the first poor mook tries to do a normal tackle on them.
I’m sat in the airport watching the Cardinals and the Eagles. How is Larry Fitzgerald still playing in the NFL?
Where you off to?
Fairly spectacularly stupid play by the KC punt returner there.
There have been all sorts of strange rules nuances in this half.
I'm not sure what was worse, the returner trying to take that back and failing or Anzalone jumping on it with such force that the ball flies out of the endzone.
can someone explain the whole Jets/Trevor Lawrence thing. Jets fans seem very mad but Jacksonville also won a game this year so?
Worst team determined by record gets 1st pick. 1st pick this year will be Trevor Lawrence, who is rated as a generational talent at QB. If you lose every game and finish 0-16, then you'll guarantee yourselves 1st pick.
By winning at the weekend they drop to #2 below the Jaguars, who would also take Lawrence. The Jags will now lose the rest of the years games on purpose to be sure of him.
In short, the Jets fans could cope with them being shit for a while to get a very good player. Now they've even fucked that up.
Taz likes his style.
Jaguars take it as their strength of schedule is tougher than the Jets.
What a fucking stupid system.
It's obviously shit but it's better than the NBA's lottery and it's hard to come up with tiebreakers when each team only plays 16 games and they don't all play each other.
https://www.nfl.com/news/seahawks-wr...ditional-reins
Josh Gordon suspended again.
This game is shit.
The last 2 minutes or so of this game...
:harold:
Mason Rudolph starting against the Browns.
Garrett v Rudolph II
I missed it at the time but I was reading an SI article after the Haskins release and it said that he got a lot of heat (and rightly so) during the pummelling WFT took against Baltimore because he found out he was on 300 yards and the whole bench heard him celebrating that.
That's not something that's unfixable but it doesn't say much about his priorities in this stint. Release might do him good though I dunno who'll pick him up just now. Anybody got a settled but old first choice who might fancy a project?
He wont get picked up this season, especially with the Covid restrictions.
He'll have to get a job as a third/fourth QB at a team during the off-season and hope to impress enough to take the backup job.
Bookies have the Steelers as the favourites to sign him which I could see. Rofflesburger is out of contract next season and Dobbs is gone at the end of this season and Rudolph hasn't looked great.
From what I’ve heard it sounds like he’s always been hyper confident, to the point of Urban Meyer actively refusing to praise him at Ohio State so he didn’t get even more big headed :D Seems like he’s just always thought he was good enough & would make it without any effort, but hopefully now he’ll knuckle down a bit.
Does kinda seem like he’s in the dying QB archetype of guys who can’t move or play off script though, so I’d be surprised to see him end up any better off than a Josh Rosen type run.
CFP semi finals are tonight, so looking forward to a good game between Clemson & Ohio State and Alabama dicking Notre Dame & pulling their starters in the fourth quarter.
My sky threw the towel in inexplicably yesterday when I returned. Ironic given I specifically returned to record and watch these games. :moop:
Hoping for decent games and spoiler free re runs tomorrow I can pick up.
Bama should absolutely smash notre dame.
Please tell me someone else just saw that harris hurdle live?
Jesus Christ.
Game over.
I’ve watched 2 college football games ever and I’ve just realised both of them have been this Trevor Lawrence kid having his shit pushed in both times. Are we sure he’s good?
I believe this loss takes him to a 34-2 college record, which is still outstanding. The first loss he did admittedly stink it up, but this one isn't so much on him. He can't help being flattened and seeing his defence concede 50 points.
He was one of the best ever rated prospects out of school. Sometimes it doesn't translate over to the NFL, but I think he'll be good. He's going to a team that's essentially starting afresh anyway, so they can build the franchise around him.
Tua has absolutely imploded today.
The dolphins might have actually made the playoffs had they just stuck the course with fitz.
Trevor will be just fine in the NFL as a #1 overall pick.
Justin fields is the more interesting prospect. Will be be Kyler murray levels of good dual threat. Or manziel levels of failure.
What he did to Clemson with his arm over the weekend makes me think he’s legit.
Would have been a fitting end to the NFC East there if the Giants had turned that over with that idiotic fumble there.
Untold levels of shitness.
Being lazy, how is a 7/14 team play-off going to work?
One team from each conference is on a bye next week.
1 more team and 1 less bye. Extra wildcard game essentially.
The Giants are stupid though. Eagles are tanking the Washington game hard to ensure we pick at #6 or better. I believe now only Houston winning would improve our pick. As for the Giants they were picking inside the top 10, but now they'll be around 11 or 12.
At this point should I just be watching the Football Team v Philadelphia game as it basically decides the NFC? I can't tell which games are important.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...h-more-week-17
This gives you the live scenarios for each team.
Texans lead!!!
If the Colts win too we're playing them next week.
This game is batshit.
Knowing this game the kicker will push it wide.
Edit: I thought he fucked it.
So the playoffs...
AFC:
Browns v Steelers
Colts v Bills
Ravens v Titans
Chiefs - BYE
NFC:
Rams v Seahawks
Bears v Saints
Buccaneers v Football Team OR Giants
Packers - BYE.
https://images.daznservices.com/di/l...18&quality=100
You were correct.
Playoffs start today for all those interested.
First game must kick off at 6, coverage starts at half 5.
One ref thinking that Hilton caught that :harold:
That defender is a fool for jumping.
There's absolutely no chance that ball is being snapped.
Zach Pascal :harold:
Refs are on the take, he clearly got back up and then fumbled it.
Is there anything more frustrating than the good stream that goes down constantly but with just enough of a gap between going down that you go back to doing what you were doing?
Outside of the great TD pass, Russ has been dogshit.
Incredible.
Refs were on the take, but mostly in favour of the Bills. As much as the refs can decide a game with about 2 penalties in the whole thing. All those sideline catches at the end of the first half with the ruling on the field standing, then the microscope coming out to rule out that interception (I appreciate this is the somewhat morononic way the league has gone with that issue). I was amazed that non-fumble didn't get overturned, but even the mechanism for that, and giving Buffalo back their timeout seemed stacked in their favour. Was a good game. Glad the Bills got it done, but the Colts probably deserved the win, they just left too much on the field. Allen's attempted game losing sack/fumble effort deep in the 4th was quite funny/traumatic. Are you allowed to put your foot through the ball when it's on the ground like that and chase it?
Those stats Sky Sports just put up and incredible.
589 teams have made the playoffs.
This Titans defence is ranked 588th for PPG, 586th for total YPG, 583rd for pass YPG and 585th for sacks.
Marcus Peters!!!!!!!!
18 carries for 40 yards with his longest run being 8 yards.
"King" Henry has been dethroned.
I mean he rushed for 2k two years on the trot taking the rushing title on both occasions.
That was a pretty weak Tennessee performance though and they didn’t deserve anything out the game.
Would like to see a Raven chiefs game and a bills steelers matchup.
1.5k last year.
Yeah totally made that stat up, two rushing titles on the trot though.
Lamar is so fucking dangerous wriggling out the pocket. Needs to keep getting better with his arm though, some real dodge throws again today.
Obviously the pick was a terrible throw but outside of that? He went 17/24 which is perfectly acceptable and I can only remember 1 that was thrown a little low in the endzone which was almost picked.
I think the biggest thing in this game was that Greg Roman didn't panic when Titans jumped out to a 10 point lead. Last year the same happened and he basically stopped all running plays which took so much away from us.
Wims with that drop...
Yeah, that was a shocking drop.
Yeah I don't care who wins this but I still let out an "Oh noooo" when that fell through his hands.
This game is, unsurprisingly, shit.
Although slime is exactly what NFL needed.
Great start by the Steelers :harold:
This game is mental.
lol at the Steelers.
Got what they deserved. Should have put the Browns to sleep last week.
The Browns.
And the Bills winning a playoff game the same weekend. What a time to be alive.
Happy for the browns.. and the eagles shit show creates a qb and coaching quandary.
Wentz, hurts or the #6 pick. Who’s the starter and who’s the new top brass.
It seems that Doug wanted rid of Wentz but Howie was adamant that Carson had to stay.
Doug all season said he wouldn't bench Wentz because it was a sign that they'd given up on the season and on him. I suppose the move makes sense from the owners point of view. He's tied to a relatively large contract he's I think 1 year into. That said it has been reported by a couple of beat writers that it isn't actually all that bad if they shift him.
It does bring up a good "where do you go from here?" situation now. Jalen Mills, Jason Peters, Vinny Curry, Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson are all likely out in the summer and it looks likely Ertz will follow too and they're all starters. The latter was hopeful of a deal last summer but either sides valuation of him didn't meet and he was told negotiations would not continue during the season.
The QB situation is interesting. Hurts looked good every game but the one we didn't want to win, but is that enough to decide to go with him? We know Wentz has the talent in there, but what's stopping it? He was the bomb under Frank Reich so maybe look to a coach to get the best of him as well as a HC?
It also depends what we get for Wentz. At pick #6 there's scope for getting involved in this years QB debate if they really wanted to. Getting rid of Wentz also pretty much gives the new HC a clean slate to build from.
Personally I'd keep him and see if we can fix whatever was wrong with him. There's early talks of DeVonta Smith being taken at #6 and if we can get in some other WR help, that can only be good for the offense. But we could go a hell of a lot of ways from pick #6.
Eagles need o line help too don’t they?
There’s a few teams in a bit of a mess and it always seems a bit of a gamble with a WR in the top 10.
Watched bama steam roll Ohio state last night and it wasn’t even a contest. Mac jokes as a 1 year started being described as a late first rounder caught me a little off guard. He had the best o line in the country, a monster WR and an elite RB IN Harris.
Eagles need help in every position to be fair @Foe. There's only a few big game players left now. Cox and Slay are top talents and Sanders and Kelce are also very good but there's not that much beyond them.
The QB situation needs solving soon though and with the Jets apparently now not taking a QB and looking to trade it away there's scope for us to do something, whether ourselves we trade up/down or we look at someone like Fields.
There's also a pretty good article on how we got here which is largely accurate to how I understand everything that's gone on.
https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/cars...-20210116.html
https://www.si.com/nfl/2021/01/16/te...y-kept-his-job
The work they've put in to absolutely decimating their franchise is seriously impressive.
Is the Watson stuff entirely down to them saying they'd consult him over hires and then not doing it?
Like, fine, be annoyed but they're not paying you tens of millions of dollars a year to run their franchise at the end of the day.
Them trading away the best WR in the league for fuck all and completely wasting a year of his career probably didn't help either.
He and JJ were caught saying to each other they weren't happy they'd wasted a year of their prime.
He also only heard Hopkins was gone on Twitter. Not surprised he doesn't want to stay there when they are clearly clueless.
That was gutting (bar a miracle comeback).
Clear that we need O-Linemen. All the centers on the team cannot snap to save their life and we've focused so much on RUN that only Stanley (and Orlando Brown to an extent) can pass protect. Titans who couldn't pass rush at all in the season were feasting last week and the Bills were basically camped in our backfield tonight.
I think following on from that, Greg Roman needs to be let go. He did well last season in developing Lamar but the team needed to evolve a bit this season which it did not. We've become one dimensional (as evidenced by just bringing in O-Lineman who are good at run blocking and not much else) and if you can take that away, like the Bills have done, then we're nothing. We need someone to come in and help Lamar progress as a passer so we're better equipped when losing or the run game is being shut down.
I also think we need WR's. I think Marquise Brown has had some bad moments this season but he seems to have recovered fairly well after catching that 4th and whatever for a TD during the mental Browns game. However, he is not a WR1 and we need someone to take that title to help the other WRs.
I’ve seen people mocking Baltimore Kyle Pitts, which seems both absolutely disgusting & completely unnecessary.
Imagine that two TE set with mark Andrew’s, Lamar and the various runners and then Hollywood brown just told to go deep.
Ravens are totally one dimensional though as Mahow says. Until Lamar is a legit danger with his arm to the sidelines the other teams will scheme him out. He’s so damned good he can overcome that sometimes, but when it doesn’t work, there’s no plan B.
Happy for the bills though. They’ve gotten so much better in the years I’ve been watching. Must be satisfying having Josh Allen’s cannon rather than trying to grind it out with tyrod.
Mon the Broons.
I assume BBC has the rights for the Superbowl this year? It'll be the first time watching live for about 8 years.
Yeah, they normally have it and do the worst of all available broadcasts.
‘The blue tent’ is so funny.
Honestly I’ve found the nfl/nba streams more consistent than the football ones are. Nflbite is what you’re looking for.
That's so Browns.
MVPAT clearly knocked out there.
After a td or fg Can someone explain to a euro why they kick off after an FG/TD. Why wouldn’t you just kick the entire field so they can’t return it every time?
What is considered a good kick?
Well the dream is that you kick it high and just around the goal line so the returner dithers and thinks he can return it and you stop him anywhere short of the default start of drive position. It's just about gaining whatever yards you can here and there.
You also don't want to smash it out of bounds (unlike punts) as that's a foul and rather than starting at the 25 the receiving team will start at the 40 yard line.
What a run by Henne that was.
Sad for the Browns but fair play to Andy Reid there, that was ballsy.
That's such a Browns drive.
Andy Reid is a total madman.
There is a level of genius to it though. They fake fake sold that last play so well that no one actually thought they were going to snap it.
Nobody move, they're just trying to draw us offside, oh shit.
Yeah, it's one of those where he obviously gets called out as a mong if it fails but when it works you can appreciate both the genius and gutsiness of it, including how the players executed it as you say.
Reminds me.of Payton opening the second half of the Super Bowl against Manning's Colts with an inside kick. Proper "so crazy it just might work" stuff.
It’s a dual of Hall of Fame quarterbacks and the best throw is made by Jameis Winston.
Brees is completely washed up. He can't even throw for 15 yards.
Yeah, they should have kept Jameis on.
He had issues a few years ago with a shoulder I think and looked horrendous, but he bounced back.
He had a poor game and unfortunately it’s probably his last. They had a good window the last few years and gave it a good bash, but came up short. Hell of a career though and hall of fame bound.
https://www.nfl.com/news/dwayne-hask...steelers-today
Signing today.
Texans want the number 1 pick next year.
For who? The dude from North Carolina?
I watched way less college football this year, but all the big QBs jumped with fields, Lawrence..
Seems odd for him to get launched in with little experience. He’s been coaching high school has he not?
Jim Caldwell wasn’t bad at Detroit. They took a huge step back when they moved on, assuming they could do better.
Surprised bienemy hasn’t landed. Urban Meyer was left field, and the other hires caught me by surprise a bit too as the coordinators talked up remain in the wind.
And now it’s all but confirmed Stafford is on the move.
Lots of talk the colts would be the move, but many other avenues available..
Patriots?
Washington?
49ers?
Cowboys?
I wonder if Denver will show any interest. I imagine they'd love to make a play for Watson but that ain't gonna happen.
Colts should bite the hands off either the Texans or Lions. The rest of the team is good enough to challenge for titles.
I see Stafford as a good fit for Bill. Assuming he's cheaper than Watson by some way, which I expect, then he could concentrate on improving his WRs.
49ers I see as similar to the Colts but maybe not quite as ready to win the big game. However having either of those 2 guys would open up the "downfield" section of their playbook.
The Football Team would be a good shout. Good young defence there as well as a great young WR/TE combo. Could push them on.
I'm not sure I see the Cowboys getting involved.
Yeah I was just punting teams around that have uncertainty at qb.
The cowboys / dak relationship is uncertain.
Similar questions for Denver as noted.
Hadn’t twigged Atlanta had then fourth overall pick. Could this be the beginning of the end for Matt Ryan too?
Texans/Bills could also do a swap deal.
Just realised he grew up in Dallas, Texas. So yeah, he might be interested in Dallas or Houston.
No way the lions would ship him to the bears.
Since when have play-off wins gone into team records? I'm not having the Bills (15-3) v Chiefs (15-2) or has that always been a thing? Regular season record only, shirley?
I wondered about that too so if they've always done it we're both idiots.
It looks wrong doesn't it?
I get it when it's '17-0' etc, but I had never really thought it was a thing outside of that.
Is 17-0 even a perfect season if you can theoretically go 18-0 (I appreciate the theoretical underpinnings of that claim may be a bit sketchy)?
The only way I want to see it is if it's "New England Patriots (18-1)."
Yeah, I was getting mixed up with season lengths there. I meant 20-0. Could that be done? You'd have win your division (as it would be impossible not to), but be in a conference with two other perfect teams to get into the wild card round.
One other now.
Not impossible but highly unlikely.
Can both teams lose this?
:D
It is a bit like that.
I'd normally be all over Tampa Bay, but not with their roster of total dickheads. But then, Green Bay? The cheeseheads? Ugh.
Don't worry lads, who wins this is just fodder for the Bills in the Owl anyway.
The sad thing is that either of these will probably rinse said [bottling] Bills in the big one and it is genuinely hard to choose which would be the least bad option. But you can never really go with Brady et al so you just have to go with the Chiefs (as they'll probably win and it'd be a lot less traumatizing to see them lose if they don't).
This is some start.
Concerned this bucs team is actually going to win it all.
They’re just loaded with talent.
Home field for the title game too.
They wont even win this game.
I guarantee it.
I'm feeling a little less sure about that guarantee now tbh.
I'm sorry but how do you have a game where a regular penalty involves not having the right amount of people on the field?
Because a team doesn't have to register substitutions with an official.
A team can rotate constantly and will do so especially when a team is running no huddle (so fast tempo to try and tire the other team out) and this can cause teams to lose which set of people are on the field.
I thought Rodgers had space to run there and I think taking the field goal is a bad decision. Don't put the game in Brady's hands by choice.
He absolutely had space.
I don't get them not going for it either.
I don’t watch much but Buccaneers have got all the decisions
Whilst that's technically the correct call they've let those types of pulls go all day.
The guarantee.
Aikman giving it the whole "What a story" in regards to Brady coming to Tampa
Disgusting.
If the Bills don't win tonight this is a disaster.
Top brains trust work going for the FG at the end there. I mean, what were they thinking?
Also, I like the Bucs D and all [credit goes to them, not Brady], but they must have been holding on 90% of the plays tonight.
Brady being an anti-masker...
Hardman :harold:
How does a kicker miss a field goal. It seems setup to be impossible.
That guy who dropped the obvious floater should just be fired, right?
Chiefs/Bucs, ugh.
I feel sick.
Has Gamepass always shown you the score of the game before you go in to choose to rewatch or see condensed highlights, etc.? I feel like I used to be able to get to a game I'd not seen and watch the condensed while keeping the score unspoiled. Annoying. I don't care about watching them when I know the score.
Looking at the stat line (especially the rushing numbers) it looks like Allen was basically having to try and do it himself last night.
I’m fairly certain it wasn’t spoiling scores during the regular season.
There was definitely a Broncos game the same happened at the back end of the season. Maybe there's another way you can get to them safely but when I checked today even on the front page it had the Bills/Chiefs score there.
I use the app on a fire stick but both play off games simply say “completed”.
Brady v Mahomes will forever be sickening.
The saving grace for the Chiefs is I'll forever have a soft spot for Andy Reid. As for the Bucs, I guess Evans deserves a ring for how good he is.
Finally caught up on the late game last night. Always thought [feared] Buffalo had that sort of shitshow in them so glad they didn't save it for Brady and Co in the owl. Not that they were all that bad, but KC were absolutely phenomenal after giving up the obligatory early lead. The Bills had absolutely no answers on defence. Anyone hating on an Andy Reid team needs taking out and shooting and unless Brady suffers some sort of freak Ronaldo Euro final style early injury then all that is holy has to be rooting for the Chiefs to absolutely ruin the Bucs.
Andy Reid is likeable, the rest of the team really isn't.
Led by captain cunto Tyreek Hill.
As much as I would like somebody to kick Hill's head in and I shouldn't be supporting the Chiefs I simply cannot root for Brady so it's going to have to be begrudgingly supporting KC for me.
Hopefully he goes into pick mode again, although I guess Tampa will lean heavily on their O-Line and Fournette for the most part.
It would be a genuinely fascinating game if they just had someone like Fitzmagic [pirate beard and all] at the helm rather than Brady. I didn't watch their wild card game, but the past two have been entirely won by their defence.
I'll go one further than Mahow. It's not actually the Chiefs themselves that grate on me(except for scumbag Hill), it's the wankathon that now follows them. Mahomes will make a simple 10 yard pass but because he did it sidearm let's talk about it for the rest of the game.
For obvious reasons I love and miss Andy Reid. But I look at the Bucs and think there's little there that makes me want them to win. Bruce Arians probably deserves a ring as does someone as good as Evans, but I think I fall on the Chiefs side of the fence by some way.
Woah.
As a Rams fan I'm pretty happy with that
Its a big upgrade on a big weakness for a team that otherwise would be a contender.
We are good at day 2 and 3 drafting too, so its not completely selling our future away
I’m sure California kid goff is delighted to be heading to Michigan.
But yeah, rams making a win now statement, so fair play to them. Goff had a really good season a few ago where it was yards galore but never really looked elite.
Stafford deserves a chance at a ring and now he’ll get it.
7 years with no first rounder and a fuck ton of dead money from renewing shite like Goff, Gurley and Cooks... what a team.
That Lions offense is going to be so bad next season - they have Golladay & Jones both hitting free agency & hardly any cap space to sign anyone. They're pretty much locked in to taking a WR at 7, otherwise it's DeAndre Swift or nothing.
Christ knows what any Watson deal is gonna look like if that's where we're setting the bar.
Problem for Houston is they’d just be claiming back the picks sent for tunsil. That was two number 1s. One of which turns out to be #3.
They’re going to dig in and hold Watson I think. Nobody will give up what it’s worth to get him back.
Unless Miami are super cheeky and offer them their #3 back for Watson as part of another qb exchange.
It would take more than the 3rd pick in the draft and Tua for Watson.
Both their first rounders, a second and maybe even a first/second next year too.
Absolutely.
It’s just a monstrous trade proposition at this point given Stafford is gone. I doubt anyone bites on wentz (why would they).
That being said, if the Texans manage to trade away watt, Watson and Hopkins within a 1 year period I’ll be pretty pissed, regardless of the future picks they get.
Who are they building around?
Frank Reich and the Colts might bite on Wentz.
4th-late round pick at best at this point surely?
Massive contract. Under performed qb who appears to be second, if not third choice depending how the draft plays out.
Well he's back to first choice now anyway, isn't he?
The Eagles fired Pederson because he wanted Wentz (& Howie Roseman) gone and told the owner it was him or Carson.
He also wanted to promote a guy to OC that Wentz did not enjoy working with, so all eggs are seemingly back in the Wentz basket.
So they’re going balls deep again in him again. Fair play.
Really looking forward to seeing how the colts qb scenario plays out now.
I think the issue is more Howie.
To put this into perspective, he has a giant poster of Wentz in his office. Doug was fighting a losing battle from the start.
It's looking like we're going to be trading our starting RT (who filled in at LT when Stanley got injured) Orlando Brown Jr as he has been saying on Twitter that he wants to be played at LT only and he just came out with this today:
Which makes it sound like he's already requested a trade which he expects will happen.
He was a third round selection and under contract next year plus he's been brilliant. Obviously we don't have leverage but I think it will be a two pick deal with a first/late second and a second or third.
Wentz is going in the coming days to the highest bidder. :uhoh:
:harold:
Supposedly had alcohol and Adderall in him.
What a cunt.
Any GM dealing multiple (high) picks for him is taking a serious boom or bust punt on their future career.
Just pick Trey Lance in the up coming draft instead.
Colts at 21(?) should just wait it out and see who lands with them, or near them, in the draft.
If the rookies get picked, the vets become expendable. Worst case scenario you grab cam Newton or similar for a season. Best case scenario, you get Matt Ryan for a first round pick.
He’s going to jail (again) if that’s true. Troubled man.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...mpression=true
Rumour is Chicago are in and the offer is Foles, a player and a 1st round pick. Player was speculated to be Cohen but not really sure.
Who gives a fuck about Andy Reid's son?
Disliking people for the acts of their offspring is a bit :cab:.
Yeah that'd be weird behaviour.
Before that story I didn’t realise he was affiliated with the club. It didn’t matter before, it doesn’t matter now. They play great football so I like them.
If you want to examine background checks of club officials with a view to forming an opinion of the club as a whole, crack on.
Tyreek hill has done some horrible shit and isn’t a great person. However, he’s a phenomenal athlete so unless the law restricts him he will play and we should appreciate that. See also Kareem hunt, expendable by Kansas, welcomed by Cleveland.
Clubs will have a PR risk vs. on field reward line for all employees. Deviate on the wrong side and pack your bags. Andy Reid’s son will likely pack his bags of guilty.
I can sort of see this from both sides and I can’t work away from it actually being a reasonable deal at both ends. A first is probably overkill, maybe a 2/3 and that’s a really decent deal. Foles can slot in as a stop gap and the eagles get another potential pass catcher to couple with sanders and Boston Scott. The bears obviously don’t rate foles/trubisky as the guy, so why not take a pop with wentz and see if does replicate his form of the super bowl season with a strong defence to back him up.
Isn't drink driving essentially a national pastime in the US? The guy's undoubtedly an idiot, but it seems even less of a 'culture' issue than most of the wife-beating that seems to go on across the board.
This is a truly bizarre take on this, Mahow.
Not really.
Niko's point was that you can't hate an Andy Reid team. Whilst Andy seems like a nice guy the club is full of cunts which outweigh Andy Reid's niceness factor and this is another in a long line of cuntish behaviour from a Chief.
Andy Reid = good
Chiefs = cunts.
No I meant disliking anybody else / the team on the basis of that individual's actions is bizarre. Hate the team all you want, no skin off my nose, but the personal actions of a linebackers coach is just reaching for reasons.
How likely is it that Travis Kelce will get two touchdowns?
Reasonably likely. He's the best TE in the game in the best offence.
I'll be watching tonight. Is an all action affair expected?
He's only had 2 games with two TD's this season. Both against the Bills.
He hasn't had many multiple TD games in his career, however the Bucs aren't great at defending TE's.
Is it doable? Yes. Is it likely, I'm not so sure as I think the Bucs will really try to limit him as he's been so good in the playoffs thus far.
Might as well chance it. It’s a request a bet so lots of other factors but that seems the least likely, from my limited knowledge.
Up the Bucs!
I've gone for:
Buccaneers win
Gronk 50+ receiving yards/Bucs win
Gronk to score a TD
Fournette & Gronk to score a TD + Kelce 9+ receptions
Both teams to score 2 TD's in each half
Kelce, Evans & Fournette to score a TD.
Probably be a drab 17-10 Chiefs win now.
NFLBite for anyone that needs a stream
This is mental. That stadiums full?
25k which is around 40% I believe but they've also sold cut outs.
It looks packed though.
Also that Anthem rendition was shit.
There are way more than 25k there. They’re lying.
That crowd has the most realistic cardboard cutouts since Home Alone.
Last 6 Super Bowl's have been won by the team that lost the coin toss.
Chiefs are fucked.
I'd love it if someone smashes the shit out of Tyreek Hill.
Had to be bloody gronk
A shame I only had £5 on him scoring one. It was bound to happen.
Brady will also try and give Antonio Brown one too.
Edit: £10 on Brown anytime @ 3.2
:(
No fat boy TD.
Heh.
Chiefs are just constantly shooting themselves in the foot.
So many flags.
State of your defense chiefs
Chiefs getting dicked
I understand this just enough to lol at that Kansas player mouthing off.
Pretty lol half there from KC.
Green Bay wondering where this ref crew was 2 weeks ago though.
I like The Weeknd but this is really shit.
Especially when he was in the small room and the camera was going mental.
Better than watching Mark Chapman shift around in his chair like he’s got worms.
And so ends MVPAT.
That pass was mental, I have no idea how he managed to throw it as accurately and as powerful as he did whilst falling down.
Shame the receiver fucked it.
Is the Kansas quarterback running around like a fanny because his catchers are all closed off or because his defenders can't protect him?
Two of his offensive tackles (the fat lads trying to protect him) are injured and as such Tampa's defenders are just running past those who are having to play as they're shit.
Shaquile Barrett is one of the best at pass rushing right now and he's getting to Mahomes constantly.
This truly is the worst fucking sport on Earth. Unwatchable.
Happy for the Glazers.
They should present trophies to the owners in football.
They do :eyemouth:
Lads, where should I be going for general NFL reading?
Sports Illustrated seems to be going down the 'x free articles per month' route so that's going to be the end of that for me.
EDIT: I didn't know that (for some sites at least) you can get round this with incognito tabs.
Stunning.
He's officially asked for a trade.
JJ Watt has been released.
:(
Seriously though. What’s the plan?
I doubt we’d wanna spend the money required
Hefty guaranteed to be giving out considering the injury.
He was the Titans first round pick in the last draft coming in at pick 29.
I really like Lindsay so I'll be annoyed if he leaves for fuck all.
Seems strange as they were really hot on him and he has 2, 1000 yard seasons under his belt.
Good news if you are Melvin Gordon I guess.
One injury-hampered season and not being a 'fit' for Shurmur's offense apparently.
Annoying.
I am liking the look of the work done on the defensive side for Denver so far this off-season. I assume on the quarterback front they're in a bit of a holding pattern just now or trying to come up with a plan B as I reckon they were into the idea of going big for Watson.
The Niners have given 3 1sts and a 3rd to move up to 1.03 (previously Dolphins).
RIP Jimmy G.
And now the Eagles have traded down, bringing the Dolphins back to 1.06
Big time swinging from the dolphins. Turning tunsil and a WR so average (Britt?) I’ve forgotten his name into 4 first round picks.
49ers are pretty confident they can win now and aren’t willing to waste it with cj beathard leading the line.
Feel a bit for nick mullens. He looked a perfectly solid qb a couple years ago.
If(big if) Wentz plays 75% of snaps for the Colts this season the Eagles now have 3 first round picks in 2022. I'm still disappointed though. The chance of a big time playmaker like Chase or Pitts has just evaporated, which would have added some excitement to the season. That the Eagles were also attempting to trade to #3 for Wilson says to me upstairs don't like Hurts too much.
I get the long term thinking. If we're honest, the Eagles are not 1 QB from competing, there are several glaring holes in the team and you could likely pick any position for our pick and it'd be the right positional choice. As it is I'd place a large bet on a CB being taken that will likely be way too soon.
It does provide the Jets with an interesting opportunity. Zach Wilson is getting the media wet at the mention of his name right now, so if anyone wanted to send the house to gazump the 49ers they really could demand a Kings ransom. As is they should likely take Wilson themselves, but Jets gotta Jet.
Dolphins played the field spectacularly there.
There’s a load of them that have a pretty equal shot.
Trevor aside they’re surely all similar punts as a first rounder.
Wilson, fields, Lance and to a lesser extent mac Jones.
For the eagles with all those holes, Just stick where you are now and see what falls.
Sounds like Edelman had a knee injury he just couldn't get rid of. He failed his return physical and after being contractually cut by the Patriots he's retired.
My feelings are a little mixed about the trade.
Obviously we had no leverage so we were always going to find really good value for him and I think this is a fair price considering that. I really don't like that he's gone to the Chiefs though.
The team are also expected to sign Alejandro Villanueva to replace him at RT.
I think we'll end up using the capital to move up in the draft.
Broncos have taken a punt on bridgewater, who’s basically been tossed from the panthers.
Interesting move.
Panthers are even paying $7m of Teddy's $10m salary to send him to the Broncos.
I assume that means the plan is to shunt Lock somewhere and draft a QB to sit behind Bridgewater for a few years. I'm not unhappy with that depending who we get.
Well that's come from fucking nowhere. Crikey.
In draft news does one of you nerds want to tell me about this Patrick Surtain 2: The Revenge lad that Denver have drafted? Secondary is looking good this year but I think at least one including Fuller are only on short deals so it makes sense to get some yoof in there.
Recorded and watched this morning.
#1 and #2 were locked but figured SF would go fields as more secure. Fair play for them giving up so much and taking an absolute punt on Trey lance.
Najee Harris at 24 made so much sense and was about the only pick I correctly got beyond the first two.
Hopefully Justin fields gets a chance to learn and thrive in Chicago.
Disappointed with the Texans first round pick.
Should point out I mocked Mac Jones at 12 to the eagles. Interesting they passed on fields and Jones, but devonta smith is a good wideout who fills a need.
I woke up at 4 for work and the first thing I saw was that we traded up and the heart sank. To leapfrog the Giants like that, for almost no cost, was a great thing to see. I didn't want to see any QB factory shenanigans.
There's still plenty of holes to fill, but with a star WR now on board there's that bit of excitement to watch him play. There's also potentially 3 first rounders next year for us. The interesting move is us passing on Fields. I like him as a prospect, but Hurts hasn't really been given enough time to prove if he has it or not.
Very much a transition season ahead, but not as bleak as it looked a little while back.
He's been starting for Alabama since he was a freshman, which pretty much never happens. More of a press-man guy, but I'd imagine he could do whatever they ask him to. Not sure he'll be a mega elite 'shutdown corner' type, but he'll be a good starter for years.
Nah, they could use Jaylen Waddle.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vplOqWEnS-E
Just gonna leave this here for you @Ian
Well he seems promising. I thought trading up for a second round RB seemed a slightly odd move but it sounds like Paton just really loves him and it seems like we've collected a bunch of lower-round picks so I'm not unhappy with Paton's business so far.
Also sounds like some sources/journos got a little overexcited about what might have been some non-titbit about Rodgers too.
Today, someone told me I look like Trevor Lawrence.
Ok Trevor, so, this is what you don't do . . .
The Tebow season is one of my favorites in my time supporting Denver. Such a stupid year. I loved it
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-57336282
I didn't even realise this was a thing.
:face:
Neither did I.
I honestly can't believe they thought that "formula" was all good.
Carl Nassib going to get a lot of attention now, and based on that hard knocks episode he’s going to know how to turn into a lucrative situation as well as a weight off his chest.
Good on him.
In the next twist in the saga.. Aaron Rodgers can opt out of next season and still get his roster and signifying bonus (18-20mill) but can’t be traded or reactivate during season.
Has to decide by Friday.
Basically, If he really doesn’t want to play for Green Bay again and doesn’t think they’ll give him a huge contract with guarantees basically nullifying the benefit of selecting love, he can out of spite sit out and watch them have to roll the dice with their rookie whilst still earning a shit ton of salary. Take that gutenkunst, you cunt.
Wowzers.
The NFL has today informed teams that if a game cannot be rescheduled in the 18 week season, due to COVID among unvaccinated players, the team will forfeit and be credited with a loss. Players pay will also be affected.
Not long after the announcement DeAndre Hopkins posted this before quickly deleting it:
https://i.gyazo.com/2d9833ce127cef99...127dea0e55.png
There could be some scenes if there are players who still refuse to have it.
He should just get it and not be such a fucking poser.
You'd think with the amount of other shit these people undoubtedly take that the anti-vax line would be a hard one to maintain.
He's arguably the best WR in the game so if he opts out due to the new ruling, I reckon a few more would take that as reason enough to follow.
That said, he really should just get the jab. I don't understand the argument against it.
Sounds like Rodgers is done. He's not getting what he wants(the GM fired) and it seems no one will pay the price to get him. Some bookies in the USA are not offering lines on the Packers over/under as they expect him to retire by August.
The Packers have also pissed off Devante Adams. He's due a new contract and they refused to pay him top WR money. Considering the season he just came off, he's quite pissed off and both he and Rodgers posted a picture of The Last Dance on their Instagram accounts last night.
There's going to be a hell of a lot of pressure on Jordan Love very soon if this is true.
Texas and Oklahoma abandoning their pissy conference for the SEC too makes it a big news weekend over there.
Jordan love needs to show why teams considered him a first rounder. Then again, he fell all the way to 25 or so, so it’s no easy feat. Can imagine it’s a brain fuck for Green Bay given he and Rodgers are completely different styles of player.
The usual model for Green Bay is to have the young QB learn for a few years, right? I seem to recall Rodgers himself being sat for about 4 years.
If they knew he was going to smash it, they'd surely have dumped Rodgers off by now too you'd think.
Fans will turn on management hard if they lose the league MVP and arguable best WR in the game in the same off season.
Rodgers struggled his first season though, went 6-10 after they were 13-3 the season before. There can be a rough stretch as long as the qb looks promising.
Devante has no leverage I didn’t think. The tag is against him…
We have football on Thursday night
Okay, so it’s only the Hall of Fame game, but it’s football.
Aaaaand he's been released again.
I’m currently inconsolable.
I will always think fondly back on that season with Denver though, which him being mostly shit but occasionally leading inspirational comebacks. Getting the playoffs at 8-8. The referee in the Pittsburgh wildcard game spending approximately three hours explaining the new OT rules only for Tebow to find Thomas who ran 80 yards for a touchdown on the first place.
Glorious times.
What are Christian Wade's chances of making the cut this year?
I’d imagine he’ll narrowly miss out again. Moss, Singletary & Breida will be the three who get the ball, and they like Taiwan Jones as a special teams/locker room guy. Not sure they’d keep more than that.
Is kerryon Johnson seriously going to be spit out by the league already?
Guess all that bruising at auburn worked against him.
Seems like it, given his injury history & the infinite supply of running backs who can contribute straight out of college.
He’ll probably have to get used to playing special teams if he wants to stick on a roster at this point.
Shame. He’s $1.8m ish better off because of football, but he will live with that horror forever.
Shame for him too as if the college pay laws came in a few years ago he probably could’ve made that before even reaching the pros.
What does a 24 year old retired NFL running back do with their life? Hopefully he’s got a sensible head on him.
Bang some sloots and try to get some media work.
Cam Newton waived.
It’s Mac Jones to roll from the off.
Who cares about Cam? The real headline from cut down day is that rookie punter & 250lb specimen Pressley Harvin III beat out Jordan Berry for the Steelers job
College football is back \o/
Penn State/Wisconsin should be a good game to start us off, before Alabama crush Miami, then we get Georgia/Clemson, which will be one of the biggest regular season games of the whole season.
Also, lol at apparent dark horse playoff contenders North Carolina losing their opening game to Virginia Tech, who didn’t even make a bowl game last year (but do have a load of pretty good players, to be fair).
Looks like a pretty bad start of Sam Howell’s draft stock too, but then there were a load of horrible turnovers in week one (both QBs had awful picks in the Boise/UCF game, and Nebraska pulled off a spectacular shambles to give up a safety on a punt return).
Yeah got game day on. Last week was rubbish.
Interested to see how DJ copes.
Probably won’t get to watch much but will see if I can catch some highlights. Where’s the best place to get them? Do bt sport /espn do highlights? Or do I need to grab espn player?
My cousin is making full use of being a student post covid and going to Kyle Field to watch them absolutely pump Kent state hopefully. He’s all in on one of the wideouts there, thinks he will making a killing locally off the NIL stuff (chase lane).
I am jealous.
And should really become an A&M fan on that basis.
I tend to just go to YouTube, to be honest. There are a few channels who do condensed games pretty soon after - Matthew Loves Ball is the one that I can remember the name of.
I’ll be interested to see what A&M look like this year. They’re usually pretty slow & not very explosive, so I’m not expecting them to change with a new QB in place - probably still going to run through Wydermyer & the RBs - but it does seem like that’s the leap they need to take to be an actual threat as a playoff contender.
DJ looked rough.
Rattler and Howell had a rough start too.
Bama to absolutely steam roll this season, most likely.
The Clemson OL really struggled to handle Georgia. Difficult to know if Georgia could do that against Bama and the like because Clemson really didn’t offer much. Big 99 at Georgia was class. Monster.
Yeah, everyone’s basically surrendered to Alabama already. Really need some big improvements from the rest of the power teams if anyone is going to give them a proper game.
Awesome to see McKenzie Milton come in to the game yesterday & lead a TD drive, but couldn’t pull off the upset thanks to the good old college kicker phenomenon.
Also, lol at Washington losing to Montana, which has a shot to be the most embarrassing loss of the whole season.
It’s Tuhrod season baby.
:(
Tanking for Spencer (?)
Holding for Howell?
We will do another clowney and take thibedeaux only to let him walk year 5.
The fuck is going on?
Suspected ACL tears for both guys.
All on Lamar again then.
Both confirmed:
:moop:
Brilliant opening game last night. Thought Godwin had lost it for the Bucs with the fumble on the goal line, but the Cowboys just left too much time on the clock.
The amount of completed passes caught me off guard.
Gronk still having it is great. Opted for him over Noah fant in fantasy so hopefully off to a flier.
Mike evans, less so.
Oregon having to take on Ohio State without Thibodeaux & Justin Floe :uhoh:
Sucks for KT in particular - this was the banner game for him to really get the #1 overall pick hype rolling.
Insane.
McScorin'.
Who knew the jets would still be bad?
The jags losing to Houston is not a good sign for their season. They lost 15 on the trot did they not? This makes it an 0-16 run.
The Niners/Lions game is mad.
Miller looks on it so far.
Icing the kicker does not work.
Nice drop, Hamler, you little shit.
Broncos offence so far is looking.... alright?
Alright maybe isn't the right word, because it's been deeply meh. But it looks closer to being alright than I thought it would.
EDIT: Yay, Jeudy being carted off.
Well that second half was largely pretty decent in the end. I know the giants aren't great but it was a good steady performance and it's good to see Miller playing well.
We were pretty damn pathetic.
We looked pretty handy in the first half although a little toothless at times but then completely wilted in the second.
Villanueva might as well have not player as I think he was beat by Crosby on every single play other than those where he had help or he was holding. The rest of the O-Line weren't great but they weren't turnstiles. I also think that the play calling really didn't help, we were running the ball well but we largely moved away from it even though we were leading. This would have helped the useless Villanueva a lot. Ty'Son Williams for example barely got a carry after his 35 yard TD, why?
The defensive play calling was also shocking. Wink Martindale kept sending cover 0 blitzes and every single time he did we were picked apart including on the last play of OT. I also knew as soon as we settled for a FG at the end of the 4th we were in trouble and Martindale gave them an easy FG to tie it as he only rushed 3 on the 2 plays whilst dropping everyone else 40 yards deep. Why? They weren't looking to push it deep down the field and go for a hail mary, they wanted 20 yards a play and we gave them that easily.
Ty'son was seemingly benched for being absolute shit in pass protection.
And yet they used him to protect for Lamar in OT (which was another poor decision).
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E_PuXbvU...jpg&name=large
He was used the most used RB by far but they didn't give him many carries in the second half.
Giants already pissing off their first round receiver and their big time free agent WR :)
It happens every year but seeing the size of these college football stadiums full is absolutely insane.
It's when you realise these are 50k+ seater stadiums that are rammed full for every game, it sinks in.
Their High School games probably get watched by more than we get for the Championship over here.
I was thinking more of the 100kers like Penn State.
Not too shabby.
Odafe Oweh has had a great opening two games.
I see Clemson have decided they don’t want to play for championship this year.
My cousin was at cowboy stadium last night (jealous) but the result suggests it’s tatties for A&M - which makes sense what i saw of calzada in the first half.
Absolutely insane.
The chargers guy who just tried to leap over someone, failed and just kneed the guy in the face only to get obliterated by another guy coming from the side?
Play of the season.
Agnew is fucking incredible at returns.
Justin tucker saving the ravens there. Christ. Imagine what he’d do in Denver.
If I was an NFL GM, I’d just find a guy that can kick 60 yard fgs. Don’t know why they make it so hard in themselves hiring these guys that can’t even kick an extra point reliably.
Justin Tucker is the best to ever do it.
His warm up at Wembley a few years ago was incredible too. Blasted it from the halfway line one way, then turned around and did it again the other way and then finally he went 5 yards deeper and smashed it through.
But does he have the goggles?
It's the one thing holding him back.
I know it's probably not the case but I have to say, I feel like kicking field goals isn't that hard and I could do it with a couple months practice.
The actual act of kicking the ball through the posts, yes.
Doing it whilst very large men are running full speed at you with the sole intention of causing you a lot of pain, maybe not.
Looks like the Josh Gordon show has pulled into town again. First stop, Kansas City.
Burrow looked good is really pleasing.
On a side note, notre dame v Cincinnati is on sky sports nfl right now about to kick off.
Think they must show all the notre dame games.
Georgia smashing Arkansas shows that the SEC is a Georgia bama showdown, Arkansas beating A&M and then getting smashed by Georgia… a real who’s actually good season.
Double SEC in the playoff with ohio state and one other. Oklahoma?
Just checked the rankings and real possibility it’s Oregon/penn state or Iowa. Which would be class.
Really like Iowa. Cool stadium and shoved some decent TEs into the NFL.
Didn’t realise drew brees had gone into the commentary booth too. That’s sweet.
Oregon probably just took themselves out, so they'll need some help if they're going to get back in the hunt. It doesn't seem likely that we'll end up with many undefeated teams though, so if the Big 10 & Big 12 both end up with 1-loss champion as well they might sneak in.
Iowa just need to beat Penn State next week, and if they do they've got a good chance at going undefeated, at least until the championship game. Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State & Ohio State all have to play each other still, so they're likely to take each other out, but if Ohio State can run the table & then beat Iowa in the title game, or if one of the others can go unbeaten, they're probably in, although if it ends up as a choice between Ohio State & Oregon as 1 loss champions that head to head loss is really going to hurt.
Oklahoma have been shaky all season, but they're still undefeated, so they're in with a shot, but they do have Texas next week, as well as Oklahoma State (also unbeaten) & Iowa State left to play, so it wouldn't be surprising for them to drop at least one.
Cincinnati should have a clear run to the end now, although SMU are also unbeaten, and you can never rule out UCF, even if they're trash this year. I guess you can also mention BYU & Coastal Carolina again, but they don't really have a shot even if they win out.
Should be a good run to the finish line though - plenty of teams with a shot but not many of them look like they can be relied on not to bottle it, so it'll be interesting to see who holds their nerve.
I really hate our coaching staff at times.
Ty'Son Williams a healthy scratch despite having a 6.1 yards per carry (only RB with a higher amount with 10+ rushes is Tony Pollard with 6.8) because we need to feed Freeman and Murray who can barely manage to get 3 yards.
Yes he's fumbled twice and he's a bit suspect in pass protection but he's our only legit running threat in our depleted running back room.
"I thought it was kind of bulls***," Fangio said. "But I expected it from them. Thirty-seven years in pro ball, I've never seen anything like that. But it was to be expected, and I expected it."
So why did Fangio expect it?
"'Cause I just know how they operate," he continued. "That's just their mode of operation. Player safety is secondary there."
:harold:
Texas/Oklahoma off to a fast start.
Yeah, I think this game might hit 100pts. Neither team can tackle.
And I guess that’s the end of Spencer rattler at the sooners.
Heading to the PAC12 next year you’d think.
He's headed to the Steelers in the next draft.
I guarantee it.
Texas A&M
They deserved it too. Calzada has looked rubbish so far, but he stepped up today & the offence actually looked good.
Bama had some uncharacteristic plays - Brian Robinson fumbling on a third & short, Bryce Young throwing a pick in the end zone, the busted coverage on the Wydermyer TD & the Achane kick return - but they didn’t look bad on the whole. I feel sorry for Mississippi State as they’ve got to take the beating from a pissed out Bama next week.
Also, Iowa are going unbeaten now. I’m not sure they would have won it Sean Clifford hadn’t got hurt, but as soon as he came out for the second half in street clothes it was over, as their backup just couldn’t move the ball at all.
I still don’t think Iowa are really that good - I think their offense was ranked about 120 out of 130 teams before the game - but that defense just gets an unbelievable number of turnovers, and now the best team left on their schedule is probably Wisconsin, who have been awful this season.
Yeah, it’s a blip for bama but realistically, there’s probably only Georgia in their way anyway and they would meet them in SEC play regardless.
Sneaking past Florida and losing to A&M isn’t a great look, but luckily - who else is there?
Is it just me or did this little gremlin on the sky sports coverage just really obviously drop about 4 uncensored F bombs? :D
The swearing portions were apparently pre-recorded that they forgot to bleep, lol.
Mason Crosby is so shit.
Celebrating failure

Gruden is fucked.Quote:
Gruden’s messages were sent to Bruce Allen, the former president of the Washington Football Team, and others, while he was working for ESPN as a color analyst during “Monday Night Football,” the sports network’s weekly prime-time telecast of N.F.L. games. In the emails, Gruden called the league’s commissioner, Roger Goodell, a “faggot” and a “clueless anti football pussy” and said that Goodell should not have pressured Jeff Fisher, then the coach of the Rams, to draft “queers,” a reference to Michael Sam, a gay player chosen by the team in 2014.
The league is already investigating Gruden as a result of another email he wrote to Allen in 2011 in which he used racist terms to describe Smith, who is Black.
In that email, Gruden, who is white and was working for ESPN at the time, criticized Smith’s intelligence and used a racist trope to describe his face.
He's gone.
The cardinals roster is filthy on offence.
Adding ertz in to the mix? Jeezo.
Ditching Josh Rosen has to gone well.
My boy isn't the same player he was 2 years ago. I think some niggles have caught up with him, but either way I'm so sad to see him go. I even said to the guys on the discord last night that it felt like that time was coming and here we are.
He'll still be killer for the Cardinals though.
Rattler was officially benched and I don’t think he’s getting back in, bar an injury.
Oklahoma look way better with Williams.
Iowa showing that being good on defence with zero offence isn’t a winning combo.
Georgia, bama, Oklahoma, Ohio state.
After all the upset and chaos of this year, I suspect the final 4 in the playoff will have a familiar feel.
Cincinnati the team that could squeeze in, but suspect they’ll be overlooked or slip up down the way.
Bbc2 for jags fins right now
Has Mark Chapman been sacked off of all the BBC's NFL coverage? Seems a shame if he has. The weekly highlights programme is a bit too much with "Osi & J Bell" going full tilt all the time.
He walked away of his own accord by the sound of it.
That was a class ending. I did not see that call coming to get a quick first down to give their kicker a chance.
Aye, that was a quality super sneaky move by the Jags.
Well the Broncos season has taken an unpleasant turn since the alright start.
Bit worrying that the defence has gone to shit given a) it looked strong and b) that's what Fangio's meant to be good at.
Teddy looks to have lost his head a bit the last couple of games, but at least Courtland Sutton is running wild.
Kid took that elbow like a champ.
Reminder to all the games kick off at 5pm tonight.
Our clocked changed but america is later.
He dead.
Oh shit.
What the fuck were the Broncos doing there?
Passing on second down when trying to chew the clock to end the game and then Melvin Gordon not protecting the ball on third down.
Yeah nearly chucked that, though I thought both teams crammed a lot of ineptitude into that final passage of play.
@Ian.
I really thought he was going to be a one team man.
I'm a little sad he won't be seeing out his career in Denver but I'm long past hoping too much for these things to actually happen. His form his been patchier and obviously the injuries haven't helped but he's still one of my favourites. A huge part of that defence that carried Manning to a Super Bowl.
I don't blame him for wanting to try and get another ring before he finishes up and it should give Denver a bit more wiggle room for drafting, trades, etc.
Henry Ruggs involved in a big car crash last night. There's been no real info on it yet besides a couple of photos of 2 crashed cars by each other, no idea if it's his.
Local reports say someone died in the crash and the Raiders and Ruggs agent aren't responding to comment yet...
Ruggs is done.
Okay 100% fuck that guy.
He's been cut.
I will never understand why these idiots think throwing away a short but "never need to work again" career (and in this case fucking murdering somebody) because you'd rather drink and drive than call a fucking Uber.
Double the limit and he was going over 150mph (120ish when the airbags deployed) at one point.
Hope he gets the book thrown at him.
The problem with drunk drivers is they think they're really good at it.
Word is that the Browns, after asking Beckham to stay away from practice while they figure out what to do with him, have decided to cut him and will do so Friday.
Very interested to see who ends up taking a punt. He’s shown very little talent in Cleveland and a lot of bad attitude.
I wouldn't be surprised if a team who think they're a bit of help at receiver away from contending have a punt in the way the Pats used to take on players considered to be problem cases, in the hope that the promise of competing for a ring will keep him in line. Whether there's a team who have the culture / personality of that Pats team with Belichick and Brady is a different issue.
I mean the most obvious move in my mind is the Raiders. They just lost one cunt WR so why not bring another in.
They're also 5-2, likely to make that 6 this week and Carr is actually a pretty good QB these days.
Beyond that, looking at teams in contention, do the Saints want another diva WR? He wouldn't fit in Baltimore. Cincy and Buffalo have enough at WR already. Same for Tennessee, Arizona and LA Rams. Perhaps the Packers would give him a deal for the rest of the season? Rodgers has struggled for years to find that compliment to Adams.
I'm not sure any team in rebuild mode wants to take his baggage on, or if his ego would even let him go to say a Houston.
We wont sign him. I think the team is happy with Hollywood, Watkins (although injured right now), Bateman, Proche and Duvernay. Plus we have fuck all cap room.
Got to imagine that the Packers, Saints and Raiders are probably the front runners.
I watched the first season of Last Chance U over the last few days and I loved it.
Such a shame Ronald Ollie never made it as he looked like he could be amazing if he really applied himself.
Miss Wagner was the real star though.
Josh Allen sacked Josh Allen and Josh Allen also picking off Josh Allen is what we all needed.
And now Josh Allen fumbles with Josh Allen recovers it.
The effort
There's a video doing the rounds of Zac Stacy, briefly of the Rams, battering his other half.
I remember the name so I'm surprised he played as few seasons as he did but here's hoping he gets the fucking jail.
I know domestic violence is never a good thing, but for what I saw in that video I hope he goes away for years. He tosses her about the room like she's a child, stops to think, then goes back on the attack again. Absolute scumbag.
The video is horrible.
Bad bad prick.
What the fuck?
Even the 40m is too much.
But why?!
The state of that whiffed tackle on Bridgewater. :D
I genuinely, without pause, said "Oh nooooOH YES!" as he dodged it and squeezed the pass through.
I don't understand Denver this year.
@Foe
Lincoln Riley to USC.
EDIT: And now Brian Kelly to LSU, seemingly out of nowhere.
Coaching carousel is pretty mad this year, considering we’ve also had Florida, Washington & then the two hires above have opened up Oklahoma & Notre Dame.
Yeah spotted some weird moves. That lincoln Riley one caught me way off guard.
Bama beating Georgia in the sec championship is depressing. They will absolutely roll Cincinnati. A Michigan Georgia slug fest should be good though.
Not a great week to have goedert on my fantasy bench. But I had to start gronk vs the falcons right? Right?!
All the talk about how great Georgia have been on defense, and how Bama look vulnerable & have a bad line by their usual standards, then they just stroll out & put up 41pts without any trouble.
Will be fun to see a couple of new faces, at least.
Would actually love to see Michigan play the best two games of their year and win it.
Cincinnati just need to take lots of photos for their reunion in a decade.
The wind is absurd that no-one can pass and the Bills who are with the wind somehow managed to fall over and let in a 40 yard rushing TD. Abysmal.
Until I see Robert Kraft looking all smug at some point [inevitable] I quite like the New Pats.
It sounds like Demaryius Thomas may have taken his own life. :(
Oh. :(
I did wonder why the reports just gave 'a medical issue' as the cause.
His family have said they believe it was due to a seizure whilst showering. They say he's been having them for the last year as a result of a car accident.
I saw a tweet earlier with that beautiful OT touchdown against the Steelers but it really loses something without the context of the official taking what felt like an age to explain the overtime rules only for it to not matter.
I love that season.
The comments from former teammates do seen to me to be falling into the "this was an actual top fella" category too.
Please don't tell me there was a wife-beating incident or something I've forgotten.
That's a pretty cool tribute.
Good that the Lions spotted it too.
That did not look good for Donald Parham.
Albert O hurdling people.
Speaking of TE's, Mandrews
Best in the league.
What a quote.
Teddy :(
:harold:
At least he's smart enough to throw punches at someone who isn't wearing a helmet.
Madden :(
That Burfict hit really did screw Antonio Brown up, huh?
Antonio Brown is mental.
Retiring mid game sure wasn't in the betting market.
He's gone.
What a fucking catch.
Get fucked David Tyree.
Caleb Williams is transferring from Oklahoma @Dan
Mental.
He could go just about anywhere. Imagine he turned up at Clemson.
Yeah, will be interesting to see where he goes - sounds like he's still considering staying at Oklahoma, but just wants to see what options he has. You'd think USC would be up there given Lincoln Riley, but I think they've already taken a guy from Oklahoma's upcoming class & with Jaxson Dart showing some promise as a freshman maybe he's still going to be the guy they roll with for now.
Georgia needs a top QB if they're ever going to get their passing game up to where it needs to be for them to really match up to Alabama etc, but I'm not sure Kirby will ever let them modernise enough for that to happen, and he's already shown he didn't know what to do with Justin Fields, so not sure they'd be as good of an option as they ought to be.
If he's planning on going to a national title contender I guess the other main options might be places like Notre Dame or LSU - I think I've seen UCLA mentioned too, and I was thinking that was unlikely as they'd taken Dillon Gabriel from UCF, but I've just googled it & he's now transferring to Oklahoma so maybe he knows something & there's a swap happening.
Drew Lock
Didn't even realise Denver were playing today.
ffs Gordon.
Guess we now know why jake fromm fell to the 5th round.
Sheesh.
This is pretty funny from indianapolis so far.
If it stays as is we could see two teams agree to tie and spend 2 hours QB kneeling.
:drool:Quote:
A reminder: The Colts are still due to send the Eagles a first-round pick for Wentz in the upcoming draft. Wentz is also on the books for $28m next season, good for the 10th-largest cap hit of any player in the league.
EDIT:
Also...
What? :D
Justin Herbert did all he could last night, and the Raiders still managed to kick the last second overtime FG to knock them out (and send the Steelers through).
He converted 4th and 6, 4th and 21, 4th and 10, 4th and 10 (penalty), 4th and 10 and 4th and 9, in the last 3 drives alone. Unreal effort.
Wentz can absolutely get fucked. He's their problem now.
Jaxson Dart is in the portal too now, so Caleb Williams to USC is looking increasingly likely @Foe
Big market for him I suppose.
I’m just glad Georgia got the job done. Stetson Bennett is like a shitter version of trace mcsorley. Wee skinny guy QBs are great.
In the weirdest thing ever I've just been invited to be on an NFL podcast?
https://i.imgur.com/cSm9xzV.png
I've watched like 15 games ever.
Has he mistaken you for somebody else? Or how has he got the impression you're a gridiron guru?
No idea, must be an absolute train wreck of a podcast.
What a horrible roughing the passer call. I'd rather have had the Raiders win but I'm just as happy that Carr threw a pick to end it.
Not a great game, hopefully the rest will be better.
Greatest ending ever, couldn't happen to a better team.
The Bengals are going to the Super Bowl.
This hasn't been a vintage set of playoff games so far.
But... Mon the Bengals.
I was really hoping the Bungles got spanked and my prediction of a Titans or Bills v Packers Super Bowl has taken a hit already.
Henry didn't look fully fit and Tannehill beefed it despite the Titans D doing a massive amount of work.
Hopefully the Bills beat the Chiefs in the other AFC game and then batter then Bengals.
This next game starting at 1:30 is brutal. If Premier League games have to be played at stupid times can they not reciprocate.
Nice to see the NFC clearing the way for Brady again. :face:
Thought the Titans would get up after it went 16-16. Was amazed that interception was allowed to stand given New York's predilection for trying to ruin any bit of exceptional play where the ground is in any way involved. I see Tannehill managed to get a game ending interception in towards the end, was that him intercepted on his first and last throws of the game? And for goodness sake Green Bay.
Watched the highlights of both games this morning. Loving defence being on top in both. Titans kind of always flatter to deceive I think; they lucked into the #1 seed a bit and have too many brain farts for the quality they possess.
Surprised to wake up and see the Packers out. I thought an ice game at Lambeau would have been their thing.
End of an era there now though. Their current committed spending has them $40m or so over cap next year. They wont be able to bring back Rodgers or Adams. In fact the only team in worse shape is the Saints($70m+).
You can always fiddle the cap if you need to - the Saints have been showing that for years. It sounds like Adams is going to get tagged, and they can always cut/restructure a bunch of guys if they have to, but it’ll all depend on Rodgers I guess.
The packers weren’t great, but their special teams really fucked them. Left 3 on the board and then gave 7 the other way.
Bengals/bills/chiefs winner from here please.
Chiefs? Get the fuck out.
As if it'll be anything other than everyone falling over themselves in front of Tampa again.
Bills
Niners
Rams
Bengals
Chiefs
Buccaneers.
That's my preference, although there's a big gap between the top 3 and the bottom 3.
What's wrong with Cincinnati like?
Fair.
Personal choice would be Bills. Their fans have suffered long enough.
I'd have Bengals after the Bills and don't care about 3 and 4 but Mahow's list is about right.
Anyone but more fucking Brady.
Cooper Kupp
Promising start here.
Gotta keep the foot on the throttle and avoid a 28-3 lead.
Refs turning face by flagging Brady for unsportsmanlike behaviour
What the fuck is going on?
How are you kicking it short from 47 yards?!
Ugh.
Seriously, what the fuck is going on here?
LA trying to sabotage themselves by taking a timeout now.
Kupp
Get fucked Brady.
Does Tom Brady just psych teams into BOTTLING IT like the inevitable late United winners of days past?
Unlucky, Tom. Wanker
Cooper Kupp coming up BIG. What a throw from my man Matt Stafford too.
There’s no football like playoff football.
That third TD from Davis was filthy.
The Chiefs defender has no ankles now.
Josh Allen is our king.
I'm seething, the Bills not squib kicking the kick off with 13 seconds to go fucked it.
OT rules for playoff games need to be changed as well.
Perfect game by both QBs there. Neither defence really got a sniff. In the end it came down to very small things.
Giving them a touchback with any kind of time left for multiple plays is a bad call. Then letting Kelce catch that uncontested was crazy. Far too soft coverage on that last pass in regular time.
What a fucking game though. And we get a bengals chiefs championship too
Gotta hope the rams beat the 49ers so we get an offense fest Super Bowl.
Thank fuck we have Taysom at least.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
Looks like we've finally seen the last of Brady on the field.
Had to be that cunt scoring.
Mon the Bungles.
Fuck the Chiefs.
I stopped watching at 21-3 thinking it was going to be a blowout. :cab:
Road Warriors.
I can't recall a better playoffs than this.
Joe fucking burrow.
What a man. Just give him the fucking MVP already.
End of an era.
Fuck the old wanker.
I'd rather not.
After all the talk, he's ended up at USC like everyone expected.
Seems it'll be the Washington Commanders.
Should've been Sentinels. :nono:
Should have been Football Team. As a Washington fan (through family, not choice), I'm very unhappy with the new name. It's shit.
It does seem a bit pants but I wonder if that's mostly just because it's new. Because let's be honest, most American sports team names are a bit shit but I imagine I'd be averse to anything Denver changed to if they were changing for some reason.
'Washington Commanders' just doesn't roll off the tongue though, does it?
It's a military term so it's probably entirely to placate the same people who kicked off with the "woke" move of Redskins getting dropped.
Football Team was massively underrated and should have stayed.
Yeah I got used to Football Team quite quickly.
What a shit name.
Should’ve just stuck with redskins.
When’s the Washington report getting released? They should do it today to divert attention away.
It'll get buried because it'll show the NFL as a whole is full of charlatans.
The Washington Commies.
Washington Warriors is what I'd have gone with.
Commanders seems to be about the worst one they could have picked.
Not using the traditional numbering font on the kits is irrationally pissing me off too.
So Alvin Kamara and three of his mates beat a guy unconscious. Nice.
Bang him up.
NFL making Premier League look like child's play.
He'll just get stood down by the Saints and then picked up by another franchise in a year or so. I don't know why they bother with the first bit really, but I guess piety is big bucks over there.
Currently simmering some chilli for tomorrow night. Kill two birds with one stone with nachos and Cincinnati Chili Dogs.
Snacks of choice for the rest of you TTHers?
I'll be at my sisters and she often makes a bunch of stuff. I think tomorrow may be featuring pulled pork and hot dogs and possibly other stuff.
I did read up to see what is native to Cincy and as well as a load of Greek-inspired stuff it has a weird chilli:
https://www.tripsavvy.com/local-food...innati-4155896
Also I learned from that that Buckeyes just look like conkers.
Yeah that’s the chilli I’m making. It goes on many things (including spaghetti) but also on hot dogs.
I just bought a pizza and a bag of paprika crisps for the game.
I was going to do roast beef for Sunday dinner but mentions of chilli (here and in the food thread) have got me pondering my options.
Y'know, I'll probably just sleep through it and catch the highlights.
Recorded and then watching in the morning is clearly the way to go.
The iPlayer will probably have the whole thing on replay.
Unless my team were in it I doubt I'd stay up for it myself but I always watch with other people and drink/eat too much.
I did indeed cave and buy stuff for chilli.
Also bought some bratwursts to make chilli dogs.
The Rock
Also, I feel like the Rams defence will feast on the Bengals. Especially Donald and the rest of the pass rush.
Third and 17, shit draw play...
Why?
What a throwback this HT show is.
This is great
Kendrick, Eminem, 50 and Dre
Yeah that half time show was good.
And that's the most blatant facemask you'll see.
Holding is constant generally, it's just whether you're smart enough to get away with it l.
Decent game, but not amazing. We were spoiled in the previous 2 rounds though.
Bengals just let down in the end by their lack of o-line. Running Perine up the middle with less than a minute to go also a strange choice.
The most deserved ring in the league going to Donald. It would have been criminal for him to never get one.
It would be mad if he retires like the reports are suggesting.
He's still one of, if not the best players in the league.
Calvin Ridley is suspended until the end of next season at the very least.
https://www.nfl.com/news/falcons-wr-...n-for-betting-
It's pretty harsh considering he wasn't on the team at the time technically.
I always find American piety such a strange thing.
Gambling? Super bad.
Beating your wife, partner, child? Meh, we can live with that.
Lying to YOUR EMPLOYER about beating your wife, partner, child? Super bad.
Pumping yourself full of PEDs, thereby directly influencing the outcome of matches. Four week ban.
Wilson to Denver.
The question now is how many picks & players they’ve had to give up in return - you can only trade three years in advance so it’s all three firsts, probably one or two seconds, I guess you may as well throw Lock in there if they want him, and then probably one other player (maybe one of their corners?)
One of the biggest trades ever apparently. Multiple first rounders, plus other picks, plus players.
Rodgers will be seething. His new 4 year $200m deal reduced to second level headline almost immediately.
Mike Williams just got paid by the Chargers too.
Russ will be cooking at altitude.
Clinging on to Bobby Wagner for dear life now.
I love the idea of them refusing the deal without the 5/4 pick swap.
I can see why Ron never got it done for Washington now.
Albert O fantasy stocks through the roof
That's a lot of picks.
Wagner needs to come to Baltimore.
Wentz to Washington for fuck all it seems.
Even fuck all is too expensive. As if the worst name possible wasn’t bad enough, now they give us him?
Third and either another third or a second. That's a touch more than fuck all.
Well the 2nd will no doubt be dependent on making the postseason so that’s but a pipe dream.
"Worst possible name." :D
Khalil Mack on one side and Joey Bosa on the other.
RIP QBs playing the Chargers.
It's not even going to cost them a whole (of draft picks, it's like $20m a year in cash though)
AFC West looking pretty tasty on paper.
Deshaun Watson has paid off some people it seems.
Fucking hell. :D who was he talking about?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeJ6p7Husf0
Triple H :D
Brady is back :moop:
And his last ball got sold for half a million dollars 4 hours prior.
This is Ronaldo's fault, isn't it?
Rodgers must be SEETHING.
He just got paid.
Speaking of getting paid...
The rapist originally decided to rule out the Browns but they kept trying to recruit him as Baker was SEETHING and they got the rapist.
Any money spent that indirectly gets rid of Baker is good money spent.
Three firsts, a third and a fourth (getting back a fifth) for the rapist.
And now Matt Ryan is a colt.
Interesting trade moves all around. Where’s baker headed?
The money on the DeShaun deal screams, "I have settlements to make."
Marirota getting the gig in Atlanta and Jameis getting $28m over two years is :saywhat:
If you’re going to tank, you might as well shove a young mid round pick in and see if they’ve got a spark.
Full trade details are officially in for the rapist.
The dickhead (Tyreek) is going to be traded it seems. Jets and Dolphins are the favourites right now.
My boy Waddle's fantasy prospects in the mud :(
That's a hell of a lot for a WR, especially when your QB can't make a pass beyond 5 yards.
Crazy that the cunt has gone for more than Adams.
Play-off Overtime rules changed so now both teams must have at least one possession of the ball.
Bruce Arians has retired and taken a front office role.
Trading Marquise Brown :\
AJ Brown to Philly & given a new deal too now.
It all started so calmly, then we hit double digit picks & everyone lost their heads.
What a pick announcement from the Vikings lad.
:D
That is quality. Imagine giving him the hurry up.
Kyle Brandt wasn't bad either.
Get him booked to face Pat McAfee at Mania next year.
Hopkins has been a naughty boy.
Right then, college football nerds, tell me what to think about Denver's draft. Stuff I've read suggests that I should be pretty happy, all things considered.
Dan has as ever prepared THE DOSSIER however as we found out it was incomplete this year.
However he was unimpressed with the Broncos offerings. He was most impressed with Chiefs, Panthers, Ravens, Eagles and Jets.
Yeah, I thought it was an okay class, but nothing exciting.
Bonitto is a good player who you can do a few things with, but he’s small so not great against the run. Might be limited to pass rush & maybe some run & chase stuff at LB.
Dulcich is a good TE, essentially he’s the Fant replacement & could definitely give you the same production Fant was providing.
Damarri Mathis is a versatile DB. Might just be a rotational player across the secondary but he should stick.
Eyioma Uwazurike will probably be a similar player along the defensive line. Likely just a run stuffer but he had some fans so maybe there’s something there.
I’d imagine the other guys will just be backups - I didn't know the receiver from Samford but I’d guess he’ll be Diontae Spencer 2.0. Wattenberg & Henningsen are probably the best of the bunch, but Eric Crocker liked Faion Hicks so maybe he’ll be able to compete too.
—
The more I think about it the more I hate the Bears’ class. It definitely feels like the new GM etc aren’t particularly arsed about doing anything to help Justin Fields, so I’m pretty worried he’s going to Darnold it.
Broncos at Wembley this year then. I guess I should try and make sure I get to that.
It's a shame you wont get to see the great Drew Lock.
Not seen much of the Lock replacement before. Looks like a baseball player to me.
https://www.nfl.com/news/broncos-wal...o-acquire-team
Broncos sold to Walton-Penner family for $4.65BN.
Part of me thinks it's a shame the Bowlens couldn't sort it out among themselves but maybe it's better off that way with Pat Bowlen gone.
That's going to sting for Elway.
:cab:
God obviously doesn't like money, so presumably he's not pursuing a ministry in the Catholic Church.
He apparently lost quite a bit of weight to try and get some more speed and was looking good in training camp, so much so that he was in contention to be a starter this year.
Not a great day for the Ravens...
Xanax overdose is the apparent reason for Ferguson's death.
Baker lives.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FZ5349EVQAEqCtY?format=jpg
A humble man.
I love that. And he's kinda right. :D
Does he think Jesus was a folk singer or something?
Watson suspended 11 games, fined $5m.
Not enough for the sex pest.
First game back is against the Texans. Hopefully someone takes him out.
The bills absolutely fucked up the rams. A glorious start for the champs.
Bama was down 3 going into the 4th against the Texas longhorns, which would be glorious. However, they’ll probably dunk 21 in Q4.
Looking forward to reacquainting myself with Scott Hanson tomorrow evening.
I’ve got Bills as my fantasy DEF.
Scott Hanson
Upset galore yesterday.
My cousin was at the A&M game and looked about 10-15 rows back around the 30 yard line. Great seats to watch a horrific game.
Ohio state probably upset at losing their “quality win”.
Georgia surely going to number 1 now, whilst bama get a wake up call and need to find some receiver production.
Encouraging for Texas, who are probably now in the hunt for a playoff place as long as the rest of their season is dominant and the knock down Oklahoma.
You can never rule out a random Texas collapse, but it definitely looks to be going in the right direction under Sark. Ewers looked good for the half of one quarter he played, and they’ll have him, Xavier Worthy & JaTavion Sanders next season too so that might be the year where they can take the jump.
Alabama will be hoping that the kid they got from Louisville (Tyler Harrell) comes back soon & can fill the Jameson Williams role, which will hopefully open things up. Jermaine Burton is garbage.
A&M need to get a more explosive offense in place. They seem to be able to get high level recruits, but QB & scheme are holding them back from reaching the top tier.
Speaking of bad offences, Iowa scored 7 again this week, and if they couldn’t play defense as well as they always do they might be FCS standard
I saw that, Iowa state managed to score 1 TD and that was enough to win. I was thinking that pre game too, mental that a mentality of “score 10 and we win” in college football exists.
Here we go lads. My fantasy team is garbage and I’ve risked it all on mccafrey, who was available at 5.
Gone for a titans, ravens and saints treble to backup my long shot accumulator.
Are we going to see Tim Boyle as a starter this season?
Goff clearly isn’t trusted and if when he does throw it’s as bad as this, he’s going to face the fire of dan Campbell again.
Are you snide tramps still doing the NFL games behind a wall?
I'm not on the Discord where they do their NFL chat I just wasn't really paying attention to the game I had on.
The Bengals game was hilarious.
Peterson's kid would have loved this.
Denver going for a 300 yard FG rather than give it to Wilson on a 4th and 5 while Marshawn Lynch is on the sideline watching. Season may hurtle downhill now but always nice to see Denver
Yeah, that's weird. 64 yards in Denver is not 64 yards in Seattle, and McManus isn't the longest kicker anyway.
The fumbles were costly but it does sound like Hackett totally beefed that one. Why give Wilson a billion quid then not try and let him do his thing in favour of trying a kick McManus doesn't have the leg for?
Talk that Wilson actually called an audible at the end of that Superbowl so he could be MVP rather than just have Lynch walk it in, I'm choosing to believe that as 100% fact now he's fucked off. Ciara's music is shit too.
Sign him up Hunter.
That's a work of art.
Love that.
Picked his whole pocket.
The NFL show moving to ITV and going for a bimbo presenter has ruined my evening.
Phwoar?
Are the lions good?
Brady seething :harold:
You love to see him having a terrible time.
Also we're playing really well today.
Only negative was the stalling near the goal line and then fumble in the first quarter. Defence has looked great (espeically Marcus Williams) and the offence is purring.
I can't wait to see how many injuries derail our season this time.
The ravens do look pretty nifty. Their squad is so good, such a good back office.
The colts being absolutely shit has taken me by surprise and ruined any hope I had that the Texans weren’t awful.
Bring back Redzone ffs.
Pay Lamar.
Big performance from the refs in the 4th quarter for Tampa.
Our defence has done their usual fall asleep during the 4th quarter routine.
Is there not a way to absolutely sky an onside kick so you can make it like a contested jump ball type situation? Tee it right up and slice it to high heaven.
Always fun to see your defence just stop playing in the final quarter.
Best of both worlds for me, Jackson gets a load of points for whichever of my Yahoo teams it is he's in but the Ravens get a lol defeat to the fucking Dolphins.
RIP Trey Lance.
By doing a big floaty chip you're just adding more ways for it to go wrong.
Denver are very droppy today.
The fans are loving Russ.
The state of this offence so far. :D
That playcall for the 3rd and 1 was shocking.
What the fuck is wrong with Hackett?
That's the second time he's been bitten by the "shall we go with it or kick it" today.
Rams almost fucked that.
The guy wasting time on 4th down wasted fuck all time by running as fast as he could back into the corner. Then they gave the Falcons a much shorter field.
An ugly win for Denver but a win all the same. Defense looks decent but offense has a lot to do.
And Hackett needs to get a fucking hold of himself.
The Raiders, especially Renfrow
The NFL seems to be bringing the lolz in a big way this year.
That Seahawks trick play on the goal line was brilliantly bad. The muffed punt also quite funny.
Well let’s hope the season continues like this. Got to be the best two opening weeks (in terms of pure entertainment rather than outright quality) in a long time.
It's probably like this every year (more so with the shortened pre-season) but about 90% of the teams look shit so far.
Half of the teams look genuinely hopeless. Some are just badly coached(Hi Denver) and there are maybe 2/3 teams I could see winning the lot and that’s it.
Not many starters played many minutes in the pre-season as teams were scared of injuries.
So a lot of them are having their pre-season now.
Chiefs, bills, dolphins, ravens, Vikings/packers vs the rest?
Tampa might get better with some wideouts back, the rams can definitely improve.
Ideally bills/Vikings for a bit of a change.
There’s some seriously tedious teams to watch though. The bears, broncos, Seahawks and Texans would be better just not turning up.
Happy for Trevor Lawrence looking competent though.
Old man looks like he's enjoying it too much.
I've not seen the ambulance on the field for a while. Nasty one too. Bills player charges in to down a guy, goes over the top and into his teammate and bends his head and neck all the way back the wrong way.
I liked the old Madden game where they had the ambulance but it ran players over as it drove onto the field.
That's some catch.
Love that.
Did anyone see Tua wobbling all over trying to run to the huddle? :|
Colts
Get fucked Chiefs.
The butt punt
Won the game for them.
I'm all for a late season/post season snow day, but going off that lolfest I'm thinking maybe they should move the season so it can all be played in far too hot conditions.
Where's Wally [Bills offensive coordinator] going mental in the booth the icing on the cake.
Someone in Tampa requested beads on the goalposts and the person they tasked with getting it done misheard.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FdiKAF2akAA32jp?format=jpg
Cracking shot.
Not sure I've watched Denver get two such awful back to back wins before. The offense is absolute turd right now and wasting a lot of talent.
I mean it's not the first Denver team I've seen being carried by the defense before but fucking hell, these last two games have been bad.
That was when noodle arm Old Man-ning was in play. Prime Russ isn't supposed to be like this. Is it just a breakdown between him and the coaching?
Play calling and just nothing seems to be in sync. The better plays have actually seemed to be when things have broken down which I know Wilson is notably good at recovering plays when things go to shit but that seems to be about the only thing we're managing with the passing game right now.
And loads of plays that are probably borderline whether they're drops or not (some definitely are, some he's just not quite hitting them on the numbers) but lots of near-misses for catches in the last couple of games as well.
Tua got carted off in a neck brace last night. Now I'm no conspiracy theorist but the impact of the head on the turf didn't seem that bad. At least in comparison to last week. I think the Dolphins medical staff might be answering some questions because everyone was surprised he went straight back in after half time last week.
Yeah this is not a good luck for the Dolphins. The LOCAL MEDICAL FACILITY he went to released him reasonably quickly, so he can't have been too bad, but if what we all think has happened to him the past week, has happened, then he's lucky it wasn't a lot worse.
Proper shitfest going down between Denver and Vegas,
At least you didn't crumble and give up a big lead for the second time this season :(
Javonte out with a knee injury, that's going to be rough.
Boone not covering himself in glory there.
Having Wilson and a promising supporting cast just to produce this sort of offense is shambolic.
Washington are so bad. The Commanders name is bollocks, Wentz is worse, Snyder is a cunt. But my family are from there so I can't even abandon them. The franchise has had no direction since RG3 destroyed his knee.
I like Riverboat Ron, but the team has got worse in almost every department since his appointment. The receiving team is actually pretty good now, but the QB and the defence is catastrophic.
Also mind boggling that teams keep giving Wentz a job.
I really liked the Rivera appointment and I still support him somewhat but it's hard to see what his plan is. However, the organisation as a whole needs completely gutting out so I'm reticent to blame Ron for anything because I'm not sure how much control he has. Even the local media like John Keim have finally had enough and going scorched earth on the thing.
Javonte done for the year.
:moop:
Bobby Wagner isn't a fan of pitch invaders.
That is not a streaker.
Yet.
He'll think he is after that hit.
Gets better every time.
The guy just wanted to celebrate that they were having a girl and now he's concussed.
:moop:
I watched the first half of the game last night and it might be one of the worst I've ever watched.
Congrats Colts and Broncos.
So far Russ' cooking is being sent back to the kitchen.
At the time of his signing, I thought he wasn't anywhere near worth the money. His past few years at Seattle were good but he was clearly on the slide. But dear me I didn't expect him to be this bad.
Ah I see an injury has appeared that he's had all along, but not been mentioned before. That'll affect his cooking.
Matt Ryan must be in a full body cast in that case
Packers :harold:
Edit: Not sure why the Giants are kneeling when the Packers can get the ball back.
That Dickson punt/fake punt/whatever was incredible.
A genuine work of art.
Refs coming up strong for the Bucs as per. What a joke of a roughing call.
That call might be the worst ever.
Yeah that was pathetic.
Giants hired a fluffer.
Matt Rhule fired. Staggering he kept the job this long.
Who is the new hotness in college football? Beyond QB they have a pretty decent team there.
Lol can't see them going that route again for a while. Gannon (DC) at the Eagles seems to be the next big name.
I saw he got 40 million dollars to be sacked from a job where he went 11-27
Hell of a career if you can get it.
SEETHING :harold:
Sounds like they want a 1 game suspension for that one. They feel a fine wouldn’t be sufficient.
It could have been life threatening.
:D
Tennessee have defeated Alabama in a crazy 52-49 game. Cue pitch invasion to celebrate. That then turned to the fans tearing down the goalposts. They've since decided to carry them out of the stadium and are heading downtown with them. :D
They’re mirroring what they’d done in the past. Threw them in the Tennessee river the last time I think.
Recorded this and didn’t have any plans to watch it but might now, even knowing the outcome.
Georgia, Ohio state and Michigan look to be rolling. USC lost by a point which could be killer for them in the hunt.
Bama escaping by a point v Texas and losing to Tennessee means they probably need to win the SEC championship game.
Georgia and tennesse are on a collision course, as are Ohio state and Michigan.
Ole miss are having a season, but they struggled way too much to defend auburn to have a shot vs bama, Georgia or Tennessee.
Would be nice to see both Michigan and Ohio state rewarded.
They are in the river.
I didn't watch any of the match but the goalposts stuff has been great.
Loved the guy on them directing everyone and obviously them shitting on some Bama fans.
Packers in the mud.
Jets look actually decent.
Who were the three teams Osi massively slated after week 1? Cowboys, Jets and was it the Packers?
Was going to ask if this Noah Eagle is related to Ian 'Iron' Eagle but I see he is his son. He is also an absolute clone of his dad if Google is anything to go by.
We're so shit this year.
Made worse by continually binning winning positions late on.
Tribute to Kevin Cadle on Sky there. :(

Kev.
Yeah, 5 years, fucking hell.
