I had a Yank on my Uni Course (Harvard must have been full, so Coventry had to do) and I remember him saying our bread is weird. It turns out their bread is basically a madeira loaf when it comes to sugar content.
No wonder they all have BMI's higher than their IQ's. Not that we're too far behind these days.
Oh yeah, your regular loaf is sweet. Idiots, as I said.
A popular fast food place near me does online orders and a certain item on the menu is 99p. But if select a different location to pickup the food, it costs you £5+. If you go instore, it also costs more than £5+. The whole office has been feasting for the past 30 days.
I've got a similar scam going. There's a place on deliveroo near me that sells baccy, all of them are massively increased from shop prices e.g. 45 quid for 50g 25 quid for 30g, except for the 50g gold Virginia light which is being sold for 24 quid, two quid more than the 30g packet. It's cheaper than what you'd pay walking into a shop.
You'd think the first time I ordered theyd have realised their mistake, but nah, I've ordered it about 5 times over the last few months. Even better, a couple of times they'd obviously run out so sent me two pouches of 30g. AND the most recent time, they sent a single 30g one, the driver said "obviously a fuck up their end (he doesn't know how right he is there), just put a request in on the deliveroo website" I audaciously put the complaint in expecting to be told to fuck off or maybe be given a fiver voucher and they refunded all my fucking money

Got this in the oven although I'm not doing "the trimmings".
The Mrs is the far side of you lot int he glorious mainland EU for the weekend. So do I want Indian, Chinese, or a kebab?
My local Indian has got in on the “naanbab” craze and they are fucking tremendous. They blow the kebab house’s version out of the water.
If I'd have thought all this through I should have bought a packet of fags too.
I got a Pot Noodle selection box for Christmas. I only really eat the green ones (chicken and mushroom) nowadays and even then it’s like once every six months. Just had a curry one though and it was banging.
I remember Bombay bad boy being too much for me as a child so I’m looking forward to facing my fears and hopefully liking it.
I have Bombay Bad Boy top of the pile. The curry ones went through the pandemic without any heat in them which meant I stopped buying them.
Every time I've tried a pot noodle, I think for about the first 3 forkfuls that it's actually pretty nice, then by the 5th it just becomes unbearable.
There’s nicer versions in the same bracket now anyway.
The best bit is drinking the sauce at the end.
Bombay Bad Boys are the best.
But what about the pot noodle?
I haven't had one in about fifteen years, but I always found that Pot Noodles were only bearable if you put miles more of whatever sauce they came with in.
Indomie are the best instant noodles. Especially the spicy stir fry ones.
Fuck pot noodles.
I get these Japanese ones from a local Korean deli which are phenomenal. Have seen them in the supermarket as well but only very rarely.
Nissin Demae. Come in beef, chicken or sesame (the best).
Does mustard go off? I've always assumed not and I've just put some wholegrain from 2018 on the last of the christmas ham so I suppose we're going to find out.
At worst it'll be one of those ones that go past their best [ie probably lose some flavour] over time rather than ever actually going off. I would bet it's completely fine. Isn't vinegar in wholegrain mustard generally?
Love that.
Baz’s Pot Noodle League
1. Original Curry
2. Chicken and Mushroom
3. Bombay Bad Boy
4. Beef and Tomato
Upon Googling I’ve discovered the following flavours exist: Christmas Dinner, Doner Kebab, Chow Mein, Sticky Rib, Korma, Sweet and Sour, Pulled Pork, Piri Piri Chicken.
(Original pot noodles, in pots, only.)
Plenty to try, then. In the meantime I’ve ordered some of the Huel Hot and Savoury stuff for easy working from home food.
Full review of the Huel Savoury please. V tempted.
Someone I work with tried one then threw the rest away because it was so disgusting but YMMV.
Tenner, two slices of black pudding under the hash brown

Not a long wrong with that, maybe swap a sausage for another slice of bacon and cook that tomato. Big fan of a poached egg over fried.
Swapped the tomato and mushroom with the missus for an additional bath of beans, she's very anti-bean and veg is shit so win/win.
They must have cooked the bacon and hash browns in the airing cupboard.
Am propa norff lad bit of fat on the bacon is peng as baz would say
Leng.
In Portugal atm and just went out for a Cape Verde, so to speak. Had cachupa. A stew of many mysterious things, including several unfamiliar bone structures (I’m certain I got a bit if jaw - not sure what animal’s jaw though). Nonetheless; tasty.
The chippy near me (Golden Fish Bar, sometimes referred to as Four Acre Chippy) is no good.
A Chinese near me (Keith's, lol) recently closed.
There's a local social media thing called Nextdoor where local losers discuss pressing matters such as floods and debit cards that have been found. I once got a load of free old Pokemon cards from there. Anyway, rather than offend anyone associated with the Golden Fish Bar I took this opportunity to pretend Keith's was my usual chippy of choice and asked for recommendations on Nextdoor for a replacement chippy:

Seems pretty unanimous that Sea Breeze is my new go-to. :youpi: Checked Google reviews too:

Safe to say I cannot wait for my next chippy tea.
I admire Dave Molyneux for coming back 20 minutes after his original post to hit Karen with that saucy banter.
Dog poo seems to be one of the most pressing issues on Nextdoor around here. It's proper curtain-twitcher stuff most of the time though.
It's horrendous.
I signed up a while ago as I was hoping for some gossip yet most of it was boomers SEETHING at kids/the world changing, people wanting gardening work done and some dickhead woman doing crap one line jokes.
There was someone round here who recently posted a recipe for "spaghetti bolognese" including photos and a detailed breakdown of the cost at all the local shops she'd bought it from. "Hubby" said it was delicious and much better than bolognese from a jar, apparently. It looked fucking awful, I wouldn't have fed it to a dog.
Can confirm that the multi-time recommended chippy, Sea Breeze, is very very good. Decent prices too. And ample parking. Shall definitely go back. And I’ve half a chicken fried rice left for tomorrow. :)
U a plain muffin or a fruity one
Probably plain ngl
Are Nakano knives good? @randomlegend @Luca
Chicken fried rice from the chippy?
What’s going on?
It’s a Chinese chippy, as are most nowadays. Actual Chinese people work in Sea Breeze though, which is a bit of a rarity.
