XFL is coming back in 2020  / :D
News of the Day thread.
McMahon basically confirmed that standing for the anthem will be in the rules and that anyone with so much as a DUI will not be in the league.
Trailer also mentions XFL Fantasy. Are we in? :D
I think the whole of TTH will be in.
lol at this video promoting it:

Baggsy Tim Tebow.
It was so shit the last time. This wont be any different.
They could probably have nabbed a few high profile defectors this time if they'd binned the stand for the anthem rule. As it is they'll get people who don't get drafted and best case scenario they end up as a feeder league to the NFL for late bloomers.
It will be faster.
He's apparently thinking of getting rid of the 15 minute half-time to bring it from a 3 hour game to 2 hours.
How does getting rid of 15 minutes earn you an hour? Do they stop the half-time clock as well?
It's going to fail and he's already ostracised half the defectors who may have considered it for the money,
He'd genuinely be better giving up now unless he thinks there's money in running an NFL feeder league because he's sure as hell not going to be running in competition.
That XFL will be the same as TNA but in another context is presumably beyond his lunatic, senile brain.
That's all he mentioned when he was talking about losing an hour.
They'd cut some ad breaks presumably but it's going to be a huge financial failure due to that.
Eliminate challenges maybe (or a huge reduction), shorter play clock, clock continuing to run after an incomplete pass. There would be lots of little changes, I can understand why Vince didn't mention the reduction in ads but the other stuff could have been mentioned.
Wiki says McMahon and NBC each put in $100m and lost $35m each.
I don't see how it can be any sort of success. American football is saturated as hell. The NFL is hugely popular as is the college game but then you've got other smaller leagues.
It will only last a season (3 max if they make a deal with the NFL to become a feeder league) and lose a shit load of money again.
The anthem rule is a smokescreen for when he brings in Colin Kaepernick as the anti American heel.
That reminds me of this.
Imagine Vince or his son Shane McMac throwing pass inference flags everytime CM Punk scores a touchdown
It wont have any of that. Vince has assured us he doesn't like to be in the front of shop.
Also Vince:

Puts himself over vs "God."
Is there anything the dreamboat can't do?
Win football games.
Probably not the best Raven to say that about.
It’s alright, there’s interest in Josh Allen so at least you’ll be set for big QBs with cannon arms that can’t hit anyone for the next decade.
I seriously hope that's bollocks. We do need to draft a QB but I'd say around 3rd/4th.
First pick NEEDS to be a WR.
Other than the two times that he has?
If you get that far down they’re probably not worth taking in this draft. Assuming Lamar Jackson doesn’t plummet, it’s only really Mike White who’s considered to have a chance as a starter outside of the big names. I kinda like Riley Ferguson at the end of the draft, but there are some really shitty QBs in this class.
WR looks deep as fuck, mind. You could probably get a decent player on day three quite easily. It’s up there with CB & RB for depth.
Is there no kickoffs in this?
Nope. Coin toss and a 25 yard start I believe.
I'm assuming you mean the Pro Bowl @Giggles?
I hope XFL returns with that dumb scramble for the ball which separated someone's shoulder on opening day.
I'm just watching the Senior Bowl back - Mike White running wild in the first quarter
The throw from Benkert to Penny for the long TD  Those South QBs are donning Baker & Josh here.
EDIT: Watching the second half today & Josh Allen has come out throwing. A few balls to low or too hard for the receiver to catch, but he's dropped a few beautiful deep ones in for big plays/TDs in the third quarter.
I've been slightly disappointed by Mike Gesicki, who's put a few balls on the floor he should've caught, and just after I say how Allen has improved in the second half he fires a rocket way past Gesicki on a 5 yard throw to the sideline, then falls over his own feet setting up a screen & gets sacked :D
Tanner Carew the long snapper making plays all game too.
Tanner Lee racking up the turnovers :nono: Kyle Lauletta has been good though.
You forget how tame this shit is.
It's not really football at all. It's just a tease.
The only good moment it has produced is Sean Taylor's attempted murder of a punter.

Hero.
These always make someone out to be better if they've died though.
Sky not even bothering with a studio

The comments were made by Alex Reimer on a separate WEEI show during a discussion about Brady's Facebook documentary "Tom vs. Time." Reimer called Brady's daughter "an annoying little pissant."
:D Fucking hell.
Alex smith has been traded, so the pat mahomes era will begin.
Shocked at where he's ended up too...
$71m guaranteed too.
It’s all kicking off
Third round pick & Kendall Fuller, apparently. Not a bad return for KC, although I’m not sure why Washington traded away a good, young CB on the cheap.
Any more fullers coming through from VT?
Where will Kirk go?
San Fran and Washington, the two most likely places, are now off the table.
Well that's a surprise.
I like Alex Smith a lot but that's the Redskins have given up so much to get him in. You also have to wonder how many seasons he has left at 34.
Virginia Tech? No Fullers’ but they have two Edmunds’ who are freaks. Tyrell is a safety, but Tremaine is the one you want - barely 20 at the draft, 6’ 5”, 250lbs, strong enough to take on OL in the middle & fast enough to cover RBs stride for stride on deep wheels & chase stuff from sideline to sideline. Good tackler, decisive (although still a bit patchy on actually getting the decision right) & obviously still has loads of room to get better.
He was the guy I was hoping we’d take, but the hype has started to build in the last few weeks & now people are mocking him as a top 10-15 player.
As for Cousins, it’s probably one of Denver, Cleveland or the Jets. Not sure if Arizona have enough cap space to make a play at him, but they’ll probably be more in the Keemun/Tyrol/Bridgwater market.
Sad to see Smith leave KC
Don't know much about Fuller but we needed help at corner more than any other position on the team, shame we couldn't sheeze more out of the deal but I guess Smiths age, contract status and lack of playoff wins dictated that. At least we cleared some cap room
Now we need a backup QB, DL and LB help, a nailed on WR1 and an OL upgrade at T and G. Apart from that we at all set for another shot at a first round playoff exit again next season 😄
Season Ticket renewed.
