How much was all that? What an absolute waste of money.
£30, I think. I'm not even going to attempt to try and make anything back off it as it's far too much work and I would be surprised if I even broke even on it. I'll see how Friday's is and if it's similar then the mystery box thing can get bent.
I have been introduced to Shopify which seems easier to start at this stage than Amazon whilst I've registered to a few other auction sites where I can see what I am bidding on. In short, this little effort was harmless but ultimately pointless. I've gone back to the drawing board. I won't pretend to know much about anything but today has been a day largely spent trying to educate myself on the ins and outs. As I said in a previous post, it's not something I plan on doing until next year as I will have the necessary funds to ensure I can speculate a little.
At this moment in time I need to figure a product that I believe I will be able to sell, repackage it etc and go from there but it's about finding that product and first. I'll spend the remainder of the month looking into things and then see where I end up. I only want something to have on the side so I can get some experience and make a few inexpensive mistakes so we'll see.
I feel like blind boxes are only worth their merit if it's something you'll at least get some use out of. Media's an easy one for me. CDs, DVDs, games and so on that I'll watch once and go, "That was dumb."
It was more curiosity on this occasion. When I won the bid I knew there was 100 items in the box and I just figured even if I sold every item for £1 I would still make a profit but truthfully, I think I'd struggle to even get 50p for any of today's contents. Even at 30p to break even it is far too much effort for nothing. I'll whack it down to the local charity shop tomorrow and see what Friday's brings as I at least know there's electronics in that one.
After that that'll be all as I focus on just one or two items.
I went to the second hand shop this morning to grab some books to read. I found this which was clearly written for me. :D

I bought my first ever microwave.
Celebrate with some really shocking McCain chips.
With a lovely Rustlers burger.

I'm starting to think it's just a clever marketing strategy.
I really need to grow up.

When I used to do that it would involve sticking in people like Brian Borrows (Coventry), Stuart Nethercott (Tottenham), Danny Maddix (QPR) and David Linighan (Ipswich). Fully 25 years later you are still at it.
He means shoplifting.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to trade stickers with you this year. Sorry. :(
Pussy
I (and by that I mean the Mrs) bought a pressure king pro today. Never had a pressure cooker before, was frightened off them from an early age.
It's very good. It was an odd sensation for the first few nights, as you don't really feel much resistance like a normal mattress. Very happy with it.
There are cheaper ones that do the same thing, but the reviews suggest they don't last as well. The mattress-in-a-box companies like Emma, Casper, Leesa, etc.
I have a Simba mattress. It’s great.
Ive got about 400 to spend. Ive been informed to stay away from memory foam because its hot.
Get a cheap spring mattress from ikea and then a mattress topper. You get both the softness and the springiness. Should be around 300-400
Dont tell me what to do.
I'm trying to get my head around mattresses at the moment because we need to buy one and it's got to be about the most confusing, bullshit-fueled industry around.
Apparently none of those "return for free" mattress jobbies are as easy as they're made out to be.
Bought a mattress for 800 which was outside my budget but it was amazing to lie on. I also seduce the salesgirl to take me out for some vegan food. Hopefully, she does smell funky like 100% of the vegan girls ive dealt with.
Bought a Chromebook to replace my decrepit old laptop, loving it so far, although still got to test compatability of some software I use for work (and have thus far been unable to run CM0102 :( )
Looks like the freezer is knackered, so looking into replacing that in the next few days. I struggle with so much choice out there so if anyone has any recommendations, please speak up.
Also looks like the Chromebook will have to go back. Think I sorted the rebooting issue but turns out my research into whether I could use certain software wasn't thorough enough. I rely on using Smart Notebook for work and there's no work around to get that operating on Chrome OS from what I can tell. So back to laptop shopping :/ .
I'm not trying to sound like an asshole but a freezer? Shouldn't the requirements be affordability and .... if it freezes?
What I'm saying is... are there really many features involved here?
Reliability would also be a factor, different makes may be better than others.
Damn I'm glad I'm a poor and have rented my entire life cause I could never make such a decision, then.
Got a new duvet, bedding and memory foam pillows to replace my ageing ones. They’re amazing!
A memory foam mattress topper is next on the list to get a few more years from my mattress.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s fucking old on here any more.
Mike would look still look/act half your age if he was twice it.
Meanwhile I bought some ram and an SSD so I can load World Of Warcraft faster.
Cheers for putting them in, Mike. :lewis:
You're welcome.
Does anyone have experience with weighted blankets?
I've been told they're amazing and will help you sleep forever.
Just quit the smack.
Mattress/topper setup is great. If anyone doesn't like the sinky feeling of memory foam (fiance hates it) then try latex foam instead (it's expensive though).
Ive got one of those latex foam mattresses. Ive used ut for three days and I think it is a little on the hard side. Ive got level 3, but I could do with something softer. Ive got 40 days to test and swap/return if necessary.

Bought my wife this one for Christmas. At first she was sceptical but now can't sleep without it.
I tried it one night and felt like I was being suffocated so it can definitely vary on how much you'll like it.
