Baker is amazing.

Baker is amazing.
I can't wait for Alabama to beat them 80-0 with their starters only playing the first half
It's weird seeing a QB smaller than his RB.
Is the Cowboys having an 8 year old running their offence a Sean McVay effect thing or is there more to it than that?
Saquan is just so good. I know the browns love baker but seriously, they still look like idiots passing up on him. He’s built to be the best running back in the league for years, even with a shitty offence like the giants have at the moment.
#RunningBacksDontMatter though, and to be fair, they absolutely don't when the alternative is a potential franchise QB.
Madness.
He rejected their offer when they called on Saturday so they gave him a fully guaranteed contract. Has to be the biggest given to a UDFA in his rookie season.
The flea flicker

Foles is on IR and Jags have sent a fifth round pick to the Steelers for Dobbs.
Also, OBJ might be in trouble for wearing a $350k watch during his game.
What are they going to do, fine him? He just paid $350k for a watch, he won’t give a shit.
It sounds like nothing other than A WARNING.
Oh and it's a hideous watch:

Looks like it was a Lego kit.
With the Brown news, how much should I bet on the Patriots to win the Superbowl and what odds can I get.
4/1 on SkyBet...or 9/2 if you want to go Price Boost.
4 to 1 sounds high for how obvious it is.
You should’ve been betting it all along. It’s too late at this point, we all know it’s happening now.
The patriots smash the steelers and yet sony michel decides to just take the night off. Fuck off.
The steelers just didn’t look good at all. Losing bell and brown maybe wasn’t a great move.
They do always get a fisting in Foxborough though so I wouldn't read great deals into that yet.
Pats don't have to play a play-off team in their first 8 games. They're already there themselves now.
Eli Apple and PJ Williams are bad.
What a game that was. Watson played out of his skin, but ultimately they let him get sacked just too much.
Saints are very fun to watch on both sides of the ball. Their defence got to Watson quite a few times, but the Texans just could not pick up Thomas/Ginn and I remember them getting Brees once. Kept the mighty JJ Watt very quiet too.
JESUS. Even the highlights were stressful to watch :D
As has already been said, PJ Williams & Eli Apple are not ideal starters, and I’m not sure Marcus Williams is ever going to learn how to tackle - he did the Diggs thing again to Watson on the rushing TD. I’m also not convinced Lattimore can hold up to the truly elite, physical guys like Nuke, Julio & Evans, which is a problem when two of those guys are in our division.
On the other hand, Cam Jordan is a god, and Trey Hendrickson is making Marcus ‘two first rounders’ Davenport look bad. Jared Cook looked decent, and of course we threw a TD pass to Taysom Hill.
Raiders game was okay too. Josh Jacobs
Well that went about as well as I expected. I thought Flacco was largely alright but key drops, the rubbish o-line and people nullifying useful plays with stupid penalties cost him.
That DaeSean drop was a heartbreaker for the brand :(
Here we go again...
Wonder which team leaked that?
Hunter Henry suffered a knee fracture, the Chargers really can’t catch a break.
Johnathan Abram undergoing shoulder surgery too, could be out for the season for the Raiders.
Hunter Henry is a permacrock.
Abram is on IR now :(
Apparently after he injured himself he just said he'd hit people with his other shoulder instead & played on  He also managed to bend his facemask from all the contact. Dude is a baller, so hopefully he'll come back strong & we get to watch him light people up for a long time.
Darnold now out for multiple weeks with mono. Feels like the Jets season could be completely over by the time he gets back in. At least they have the bye in Week 4.
Who the fuck gets mono these days?

This is all very strange:
Quote:
Flint Minshew wanted to name his son Gardner II -- without the existence of a Gardner I.
His father, Billy, wanted his grandson to be named Beowulf.
Beowulf is a proper missed opportunity.
Giving up three sacks to Shaq Barrett :harold: I assume that was Greg Little at LT?
Dolphins have agreed to let Minkah seek a trade :| He’ll look good in a Patriots uniform.
It was a hard watch. The Bucs seemed to twig early on that they could stuff up McCaffery and force Cam to throw.
Once Cam proved repeatedly that he can't throw that was pretty much the game. Samuel and Moore were open loads only for the throw to be behind them or bouncing before them.
Winston didn't look great, but he managed to Godwin and Evans when he needed to.
That's 0-2 for the Panthers now and given they have the Saints in their division you're already looking at needing a wildcard. The NFC is very competitive though so even that will be tough from here.
Get Will Grier in there, eh @Sir Andy Mahowry
Yeah, they’re mostly guaranteed so the team that drafts them is stuck with the money. It’s why Rosen was a bargain too.
Someone's been editing Wiki already. They're not wrong though.
Quote:
After his old team, the Miami Dolphins, gave up on the 2019 season, Fitzpatrick requested a trade and was granted permission to seek one on September 12th 2019.
Jesus.
If only he'd stuck the landing.
If the steelers could stop giving up chunk plays to Tyler locket that would be great please.
Also good if the Texans could just complete a snap cleanly.
Packers are shitting the bed. Not a chance they win this.
Who are these two pundit-ing on Sky?
Reynolds having to do a lot of the heavy lifting here.
Hold up, is one of them Vince Young??
Carr attempting to imitate that college QB hit.
Having Fant trying to block Mack worked about as well as you'd expect.
Love Lindsay though.
Get the lawyers, Saints fans.
Really bored of Garrett Bolles now.
I think that's 7 or 8 holds against the two LTs (both number 72, which the commentators are getting much bants out of) so far.
Other than actual cheating by officials what is the logic behind blowing plays dead when one team is running it in unopposed?
They're even told to let those go as well.
I reckon I could get past Bolles or at the very least he'd end up holding me.
Flacco is elite.
Poor Ian.
Great for drama. Terrible for football.
Flacco's actually been decent so far. Droppy bastards and a grim o-line are part of the issue. And I'm not convinced about Scangarello.
What an annoying way to lose though having been ballsy and gone for the two pointer.
EDIT: Just seen the replay of Chubb, ahem, "roughing the passer" on that last drive. :moop:
There were some ropey calls against both teams for that sort of thing.
Big Ben confirmed to need elbow surgery and is out for the season.
Mason Rudolph, your time is now.
Jalen Ramsey wants out.
We all know he's going to end up in New England, but imagine him on the Chiefs :uhoh:
Pats would need to create some cap space (at least $5m) which looks like it might be a bit hard to do.
Please nobody watch the Browns/Jets game.
I woke up before my alarms this morning so I decided to watch the condensed game & it almost put me back to sleep for good
I just saw a quote from Garrett Bolles saying he "doesn't agree with" his reputation for holding.
Mate, it's a reputation based on the fact you do it more than anyone else in the fucking league.
The era of Eli is finally over.
Jones to start for the Giants on Sunday.
The Bruce will be holding a candlelit vigil in his honour.
I give it til half time.
Get your picks in for another glorious TNF game - Jags v Titans
Jaaaaaaags.
Well clearly it's Jags.
Wrong thread again
The issue for me is to overturn a play has to be “clear and obvious”. So if they think it’s an incomplete pass, but don’t call it then the replay has to prove it’s an incomplete pass.
The officials need to call it as they see it. If they call it wrong, they call it wrong.
Blowing it dead is probably to stop someone getting absolutely smashed on a return which the officials though was an incomplete pass anyway. You have to blow the whistle at some point, otherwise the defenders will pick up and run every incomplete pass back just in case.
Also, some thoughts.
1. Starting brees in fantasy was an error. :moop:
2. Oakland got leathered but bar a nightmare second quarter didn’t look that bad. Glad hunter Renfrew has transitioned to an nfl slot receiver pretty well.
3. The jets offence really is unpleasant. Leveon bell better not like football, because if he does he ain’t going to enjoy the season.
4. Miles Garrett needs to stop the penalties. He’s an absolute monster but Jesus Chris, so many flags.
5. All these untested qbs getting a shot is good for the league I think. Hopefully one emerges as a genuine option ala Jacoby birsett. It won’t be luke falk though, he doesn’t have the arm to be a starter. Minshew has a chance though and it would be great if he shone. Very likeable dude.
Miami are going to struggle to lose a game by less than 10 this season.
This happens in 99% of cases anyway.
It just seems it's one of those things that is going to be reviewable to death at every point in it's existence, as a scoring play, a turnover of possession, being open to a coach's challenge, that to sack that all off on whim on the field seems odd. The ball is always run back, and when it is uncontested, which it very often is, there is really no risk of anyone getting smashed. I recall the Pats benefiting from one in the past few seasons in a play-off game and it struck me as odd at the time.
It's a cautionary tale for VAR in our football. There are too many flags, and too many things getting re-reffed in the NFL, but the clamor is always for more and more 'correctness', and then you get things like the above which just seem to sit completely at odds with that philosophy. It's dull to watch flag after flag, everything being subject to review and annulment, and it's the end state of video review.
Hold up, I’ve not even put the final thing up yet! Gotta add in the game or the week (wonder what that will be) and the player prediction (you can probably guess that one too)
I’ll do it tonight & tally up the scores from last week.
Also, in the wrong thread.
Boy, there is some terrible football being played on national television at the moment.
Antonio gone again.
The gift that keeps on giving.
What games are you watching this week @Foe?
I’m hoping Georgia/Notre Dame is on ESPN but I’ll probably stream it anyway.
There’s a load on bt sport. Definitely recording Georgia Norte dame (hoping the dogs knock them out, notre dame needs to be out the playoff discussion early).
Auburn v Texas A&M at 8.30 is interesting. A&M need a win, and auburn have bo nix at qb do will be a big test for him.
Texas Oklahoma state is on too, but unsure if I will watch that.
Signed up to espn player free trial to get game day from 2, might see whats on there. It’s only a tenner a month...
Michigan v Wisconsin is the other one I'm looking at. Also got Tennessee/Florida at the same time (5pm) which could be a hilarious car crash. LSU/Vanderbilt is worth a look too.
Auburn/A&M is the pick of the 8:30 games, although Washington/BYU & UCF/Pitt could be quietly interesting, and Louisville/Florida State is the Tennesee/Florida of the middle set of games.
Notre Dame/Georgia is the big one for the day, but Oklahoma State/Texas might be the better game to watch. Oregon killing Stanford has some interest as well I guess.
--
Did some scouting for the first time in a while this week, looking at Tua & Jonathan Taylor, and currently going through Justin Herbert. Taylor is a beast, as you'd expect - kinda got 'Saquon at 80%' vibes from him - and one of those two QBs is clearly better than the other one. I'll let you guess which one it is, but it's Tua, and it's not close.
I saw a few clips of Tua Letters and his power and accuracy on quick release throws seems pretty bonkers.
#TankingForTua
He's accurate everywhere (his short accuracy might actually be worst, as he occasionally lets a loose one go on a screen or a dump off), but his deep accuracy was what really stood out to me - there's a video on YouTube of all of his dropbacks from the regular season & it's littered with plays where he throws 30+ yards down the field & drops it perfectly in stride. He navigates the pocket well & keeps his eyes downfield under pressure, and he's a good enough athlete to extend plays or be a legit running threat. The real worry with him is that he had a bunch of knee & ankle issues last year & his two worst games were against Georgia & Clemson, which are basically the only two teams he faced with legit NFL talent all over the defence. Oh, and the Alabama WRs are all fucking disgusting as well.
Justin Herbert once cried in the huddle. We'll leave it there for now.
Jonathan Taylor destroying Michigan already
Also, this is a relatively poor deep ball from Tua:
Henry Ruggs is going to break the 40 record this year.
Unfortunate :D
EDIT: This Michigan game is now so far out of hand (Wisconsin up 21-0) that the Fox team are now just talking about Smackdown moving over. Wisconsin have just picked off Patterson & they recovered a fumble inside their redzone in the first quarter.
Jim Harbaugh needs to go, and whoever the backup QB is for Michigan is probably worth throwing in as well.
Good start for auburn. Boy was flying.
See what kellen mond can do.
Yeah, I've got Washington on but the highlight just came up & he looked two gears faster than everyone else.
Ok...
I’m really not sold on kellen mond at all.
Kyle field is just incredible though. I’ve actually been to college station and stood outside it (and the names of all the first round legends ie Von Miller). College station/bryan must be a miserable place to live because the university and A&M football is all that’s there..
It really is desolate.
UCF in trouble at the moment, losing 21-7 to Pitt.
No national championship this year then.
How’s their true freshman qb doing? Beat out Brandon wimbush (who is pretty shit tbf). Shame they’d don’t have milton back.
Just turned over to this & they're up 24-21 now having just scored on a punt return.
I think he's been playing well - think he carved up Stanford last week - but not actually seen any of him beyond a few highlights. I'm always tempted to buy a Milton jersey :(
EDIT: 31-21 now. I think they're okay.
Thank god Georgia won that. First half was awful, second was pretty good.
Tennessee lost again (to Florida tbf). They are not a strong team.
Funny that UCF lost their streak at someone like Pitt.
Notre dame have a pretty stout o line, and their wr (crawpeel?) and Te looked perfectly capable of making it up at the next level. The TE in particular.
I bloody love hale Fromm though. He just wins. He’ll be at the least a reliable backup in the NFL. If he lands in the right spot he might even get a chance starting. Under rated passer at Georgia, they just like the run game.
Oh and LSU joe burrow (mr Ohio football) is playing his way into the NFL. Having a great year and looked awesome last year too. Avoid injury and he gets picked in April.
Guess where Deondre Francois is now @Dan.
He's on fire this evening.
Pitt exist solely to fuck up one teams season every year - they should've taken Penn State out last week as well. I'd not heard of the Notre Dame TE but he did look pretty impressive, so will have to keep an eye on him. Chase Claypool is solid, but he'll probably end up being a day three guy, especially in this DISGUSTING class of WRs.
As for Fromm, he'll start, and he'll be Andy Dalton at worst. His arm is pretty average, as is his athleticism, but if he ended up at New England we'd all be fucked for another 20 years because he could pretty much walk straight in & run that system.
Hot take, I think I might actually end up grading Joe Burrow higher than Justin Herbert. I'll have to give him a proper watch, but he's been really impressive this season from what I've seen & at this point in time he's a legit Heisman candidate. That LSU/Alabama game on November 9th :alan:
McDonalds? I feel like I've seen this, but can't remember where it is. You can never rule out Florida Atlantic, but something in my head says it's somewhere even worse.
EDIT: Hampton :D I had seen it - thought it was somewhere starting with an H & Hampton did go through my mind (although I was thinking it was something like Hampton & Richmond), it just didn't ring any bells as an actual college team so I assumed that was from something else.
--
Oh, and HOLY SHIT THAT UCLA/WASHINGTON STATE GAME WAS RIDICULOUS:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmBOvdO_8UA
:cab:
Fromm is absolutely worlds better than the likes of Jarrett stidham and josh dobbs so yeah, you’re right. who he surplants though I’m not sure. Big Ben maybe in Pittsburgh? Would the pats take him now they’ve traded away Hoyer?
Got that ucla game recorded I think so may just skim through it in a day or two when i run out of NFL.
Bama/LSU will be wild. Pretty sure I’m supposed to be out that day, so will need to find an excuse to cancel..
That look
He's probably going to go in the back half of the first round, so Chargers, Patriots & Saints could be in play - Steelers just gave up their first rounder for Minkah so not sure they'll be in the mix for one a QB early. Titans & Bucs could be options in the early second round if things fall correctly. Maybe also the Colts, depending on how Brissett does this year.
Getting walked over by the Broncos says it all about where this defence really is :face:
Has some abducted Matt Ryan?
The Jets look like the 1980’s Eagles.
The Packers offense is absolute turd.
Just seen the Philadelphia Detroit score :cab:
Also, where in the name of fuck is everyone this evening? Is it some sort of holiday over there?
The Dolphins are just awful and the only other game I have right now is Pats-Jets so... i'm sure the 4pm game will be more lively for me on here.
This chancer of a Baltimore QB is the luckiest NFL player I’ve seen in years.
:D
I thought Baltimore needed to lean more on the 'run around a bit and then throw a hail mary' strategy when they weren't running the ball.
49ers really pushing the envelope on ways to turn the ball over here. Steelers are hopeless though.
Saquon apparently hurt which makes sense.
Jones actually looks like a player.
Imagine being a Bucs fan sheesh.
Still not a takeaway or a sack for Denver this year. When you've got Chubb and Miller in there that's really not acceptable.
Is Denver's run game regarded as any good because if they're not then this Packers defense is nowhere near the hype.
I think our interior line is decent-ish just now, got a couple of good running backs and Flacco runs play action a fair bit which I guess helps. I mean for all that we're still only 14th in the league on the ground, so....
There were so many tackles last night where initial contact was 3-4 yards past the line. It's like AJ 'stat machine' Hawk never left.
Did you see some of the "close your eyes and chuck it" throws he was at last night? 99% of the time they're hitting the ground or worse.
There were a few passes that should have been picked 100%
He has all the physical stuff so it can probably be coached out of him.
This was his best play of the game.
Without actually looking I’d imagine his overall passing stats so far this year are a pretty decent representation of where he is as a passer, you’d just prefer him to produce those numbers consistently rather than huge highs & lows.
I mean, he faced two of the worst defenses in recent memory which sure helps.
Dak faced the same yesterday but didn't exactly do all that much.
He's passing the ball a lot better (although there were a lot more shaky throws yesterday) from last year, you can see the improvements that have been made.
What a time to make your point.
That's great. :D
I see you, Mahow.
Between that and literally eating horseshit, there's some special fans in Philly.
Oh shit, fresh off breaking Tim Tebow’s record for most consecutive games with both a passing & rushing TD, Houston QB D’Eric King has decided he wants to sit out the rest of this year to preserve his redshirt, presumably with the intention of transferring (although Jim Nagy thinks he might convert to WR).
He’ll be the next QB at Oklahoma
EDIT: Nevermind, he plans to stay & just wants another year to develop & get his degree. Still seems a bit weird, but okay.
https://uk.news.yahoo.com/back-to-sc...165102681.html
Brown has apparently re-enrolled in classes at Central Michigan University, where he played for three seasons. He's doing the following online courses:
MGT 312 - Introduction to management
ENG 303WI - Technical writing
REL 334WI - Death and dying
SOC 323 - Racism and inequality
Death and dying? :cab:
He's planning to escalate his dickheadery.
King and Bulaga injured. Back to normality.
Penn State v Maryland :cab:
And now we have North Carolina giving Clemson a game with their true freshman QB. Sam Howell looking very promising early on in his college career.
Some good games today - Alabama are playing Ole Miss, Notre Dame are home to Virginia & Washington are playing USC at the minute, there's also one of the good mid-tier clashes in Wake Forest/Boston College, and we have Ohio State against Nebraska later tonight, along with Mississippi State against Auburn & Kansas State/Oklahoma State, with Washington State/Utah as the 'PAC-12 AFTER DARK' game.
In NFL news, Melvin Gordon will be playing on a snap count this week.
EDIT: Chazz Surratt is making plays on the North Carolina defence, which is even more impressive as he's a converted QB now playing linebacker. His brother Sage has been just as impactful as a WR for Wake Forest (they actually played against each other a week or two ago), so keep an eye out for them in the 2021 draft (probably).
Should be kicked out of the league.
Does nobody here watch the NFL any more?
Yeah, we just all talk about it on Discord now.
Vontaze Burfict is still a sack of shit & Baltimore have collapsed when I needed them are the two main things to take away from the early games.
Nick Chubb.
Get fucked Mahow.
Discord is predominantly a gamer thing.
If I'm not watching the Denver game I tend to be watching Redzone while doing other stuff.
Our defence, bar Judon and Humphrey, is rancid right now.
Tony Jefferson needs to be cut.
How about Kyle Allen at Carolina by the way? The panthers took will grier #100 in the recent draft and injury aside, he’s not getting near the field any time soon. Even heinecke didn’t look that bad either.
Denver first team in NFL history with no sacks or takeaways in the first three games? Yaaaas.
And yet I'm sure I read that going into this week the defense was still somehow ranked 9th or something like that.
Probably on yards.
And there’s Von.
A wild sack appears!
Another qb buckled in trubisky.
NFL will ban tackling next year to prevent this.
And one for Chubb too. That's more like it.
Well that was nearly an unpleasant turnabout after the crap Flacco throw.
Some of the attempts to bring Minshew down this half. :face:
Well this is all getting a bit unpleasant.
Minshew and Daniel Jones both look a good deal better than Kyler.
Bucs v Rams is a proper game.
Marcus Peters almost had his head removed by an O-Lineman.
The players must have really enjoying chucking away the Bears game at the last minute given they're now trying to reeanact it. Twats.
DEFENCE
Teddy almost ruined everything taking that horrible sack, and the line probably gave up more penalty yards than we had passing, but that’s two huge wins the defence has stepped up without Brees & getting Sheldon Rankins just helps that extra bit.
Can’t wait for us to bottle it against Arizona & Jacksonville now.
Burfict out for the rest of the year.
Goodbye dickhead.
Between fines and lost wages Burfict has lost over $5m from on field incidents. FUCK!
Nice start for mike mayock as GM.
I was looking at the schedules and redskins @ Miami is very definitely the best chance either has at a win this season. The loser could legitimately go 0-16.
Arizona have enough about them they’ll scape a win somewhere. The redskins didn’t have anything against a giants team with a rookie qb and no barkley. Miami are just devoid of talent.
Miami would be best placed to just concede the game to get the #1 pick. Otherwise they’ll end up having to trade the redskins for it.
The only difference between Redskins and the Dolphins is that the Redskins are actually trying.
Their game is going to be the ultimate shit-off.
The general thought seems to be that Mayock had control over the draft, while Gruden was responsible for the free agents, hence all the guys in the draft being guys with great football character & the free agents being Burfict & AB.
In other news, Bradley Chubb tore his ACL yesterday & is done for the year :(
Bradley Chubb gone for the season. Miller back to doing it all himself.
You’re probably right there, given the clelin Ferrell pick and draft call.
Will be interesting if the giants turn out to have been right all along about qbs and jones turns out to to be the best of the first rounders.
Haskins looked extremely shaky. Then again, he doesn’t have a lot to work with.
Haskins is a project for sure, Jones looks a lot more polished.
Haskins was a one year starter, and he's not very mobile. He's the Josh Rosen of this class - you need to put weapons & a line around him, but if you can develop him he's a franchise pocket passer.
Daniel Jones is a great example of fit being as important as talent (if not more in a lot of cases). He absolutely is not the most talented QB of the bunch, but he's a solid all rounder who got the perfect fit in pretty much every way, so you're probably going to end up getting the best possible Daniel Jones in New York, whereas you might not end up getting the best possible Dwayne Haskins or Drew Lock (or Josh Rosen again) just because their situations don't turn out to be as good.
I got bored earlier so just for @Foe here's my current CFB top 25:
Toggle Spoiler
A bit of a shaky start last night with a fumble on the first drive and a turnover on downs in midfield on the second, but the Steelers got it together in the end. Some interesting formations and play design (with a fair bit of wildcat) and the two RBs were great all night.
The Bengals look truly awful though. The offensive line were under so much pressure throughout and when they did get the ball moving on a couple of occasions, they ended long drives with really bad turnovers.
Yeah, the Bangles would have had as much chance in that game.
RIP JuJu though.
Really interesting development in college with California putting it into law that colleges cannot prevent student athletes gaining endorsements from 2023. NCAA is going to have to get involved and relax their rules or the recruitment will be so swathed by whichever states allow similar laws.
Right now, athletes will be fancying UCLA/Cal/USC so that they can earn their way in case it goes wrong with injury or not quite making the grade for the draft.
Other PAC 12 schools are raging.
I've somehow only just seen the Burfict hit.
Honestly I'd just ban him for life.
Also it's crazy that this hit didn't result in any penalty yards due to offsetting penalties and the player wasn't banned/fined:
Heaven forbid me ever defending anything to do with the Patriots but the other camera angle does show Jones leading with his shoulder. Allen is also getting tackled from behind, dragging him down and causing the helmet to helmet contact. Just really unfortunate it ended up with Allen having to go off.
Yeah, I thought that one was more unfortunate than malicious. They really do need to figure out a way of protecting people from ducking their heads though, as defenders are pretty much helpless if the ball carrier decides to duck at the last second.
Also, that California law will be the breaking point that forces other states to change their laws to help avoid schools losing loads of top recruits - USC just got a commitment from a 5 star QB in the last few days, so you can already argue it’s making a difference. Good on them really - I think Josh ‘selfish rich boy’ Rosen was part of the group campaigning to push it through as well.
Yeah it’s a bit mental. I mean it’s 4 years away so it’s not going to help any of the current bunch. I get schools not wanting to pay players directly, it’s an education system, they feel they shouldn’t and actually it prevents big rich schools just throwing money at recruits.
Mental that a player can’t get an endorsement or profit from their image elsewhere though. As long as it’s adequately protected like it seems so there’s no competing obligations it should work. The amount that your likes of tua/swift/etienne/Clemson qb I’ve forgotten the name of would get is wild. Actually it might make players fancy going to slightly smaller schools where they can play, rather than sit as a backup at a huge college. Was it Leonard fournette or Todd gurley that nearly got banned for their family selling signed merchandise? That’s mental. If the college don’t like it and think it’s going too far, stop playing the kid and play someone else. But winning.
Ohio state look scary good this year. Clemson stuttering so would be interesting if they continued to stutter but win, would a 1-loss non SEC champ get in ahead of them? Ie if bama lost to LSU and LSU won the SEC undefeated...
There's no scenario where an undefeated Clemson falls to #5 tbh.
They’ve been less impressive than any of the other teams in their tier, including Georgia, and probably even Auburn & Wisconsin.
As the undefeated national champions & knowing they’re almost guaranteed to win the ACC without a loss again this season it’s hard to imagine them ending the season outside the top four, but right now - assuming we’re ranking on who the best teams have been this season - they have no business being ahead of Ohio State & Alabama, at least.
Also didn’t realise the endorsement thing was that far in the future. Plenty of time for a million appeals.
Think it’s more likely the ncaa tries to manipulate their rules, rather than appeal. California law is California law, if the governer wants it (and why wouldn’t they if it can attract top talent to the state) then it goes through.
Any good websites for match reports?
You not like nfl.com ?
It’s pretty comprehensive.
The yanks don't really do them, not well anyway. You'll get a generic AP description that everyone will carry and then it's all HOT TAKES and FIVE REASONS, etc.
I missed the news on Chubb. Fuck.
Savage
Also, fuck you Iowa for utterly shitting yourselves & losing 10-3 against Michigan. Not seen the game but I'd wager it was Nate Stanley's fault.
EDIT: 23 of 42 passing with 3 INTs. Nate Stanley is still trash.
I really like Iowa as a team. Great stadium, sentimental tradition, nice unis. It would be great if they could get good enough to properly compete. They don’t seem that far off..
They’re always pretty solid as a top 20-30 team in the country, they just need someone who isn’t a UDFA draft prospect at QB to get them challenging the teams above that.
Nate Stanley v Shea Patterson is the most offensive QB matchup for two top 25 teams with draft eligible senior QBs I can think of in recent years.
I watched a CFB Nerds video recently that previewed that game & they said that if you put the best parts of Stanley & Patterson together you’d have a good NFL QB, but unfortunately they’re both more bad than good individually.
I could see either/both of them getting drafted as seventh round dart throws, but I’m not sure either make it as anything more than backups, if they even manage to stick in the league.
Is this London game on terrestrial?
I think Sky1 only unfortunately.
That’ll do.
Is this the Bears that can’t be run on?
That challenge the Buccaneers lost was bullshit. It was offensive interference as plain as day.
The Bucs' front seven has been pretty good so far this season, problem is their DBs aren't at the same level. I'd like to see them stick with most of them, though, as they're mainly rookies or second year guys, but they'll need a couple of players to step up if they're going to pull their weight on defence.
This cunt on Redzone needs to stop that Berman style ‘whoop’ shit immediately.
Rudolph went down like a sack of shite there.
Someone is going to get a pasting. Rudolph knocked out and like a zombie. Then being forced to walk off himself. Looks like he’s been popping pills all night. Poor lad deserves better than that.
Where’s Cam Newton?
Don’t need him. Run CMC is carrying them.
Christian McCaffrey. You’re a grown man.
Oakland were really going full Spurs until that idiot ran into the kicker for the Bears. Why on earth would you do that? Just let them kick the ball away and you win the game. Must drive coaches insane.
That might shut Minshew up for the week.
I'm excited to see how we blow this one.
Rivers is all over the place.
Flacco's run.
Our Super Bowl run starts now.
Colts looked really impressive last night. Their running game just tired out the Chiefs so well, and for once, Mahomes looked vulnerable.
Keeping Mahomes off the field is the best strategy and their defence is the reason they'll make the play-offs but wont win the big one.
Also Jay Gruden has fallen on his Colt McCoy shaped sword.
XFL have announced their first batch of players in their player pool. I'd say I've heard of roughly twenty of them.
That’s 18 more than me.
They should extend offers to Antonio and Vontaze.
As if there's a Saquon Edwards and a Barkley Edwards...
The real shocker is that there aren't really even any good names - Handsome Tanielu is about as good as it gets.
I quite like Storm Norton.
Baker’s at the wheel :harold:
Jesus Nick Bosa
Cleveland need to throw picks at Washington for Trent Williams, their line is killing them. Well, that are sloppy turnovers - Callaway juggling the ball to let the 49ers have a free turnover was a great way for him to return from suspension.
How long before Beckham Jr starts throwing hissy fits about the woeful inaccuracy too.
They had him throwing the ball and taking carries last night so he's probably already been moaning.
Oh God, there are five days of these.
Think I know about the same amount of these lot. Ronald Ollie is probably the most notable name from this lot, but there are a few other guys from the 2019 draft class, and we even have the first player with college eligibility remaining (Kenny Robinson, West Virginia).
Arthur Brown
I was SURE he was going to be the next Ray Lewis.
He was shit and couldn't even make an AAF roster.
I've heard of one of those, following on from 2 yesterday. Of the 3 players total that I've heard of... 2 are kickers.
Kickers are people too.
Some proper names in this pool.
Dimitri Flowers & Tanner Carew
Also, holy shit Robert Meachum must be forty by now.
Hard to tell the difference from normal Ed, to be fair.
Georgia bottling it against South Carolina here @Foe
CeeDee Lamb making it look like the Texans defence don't have arms with the number of tackles he's broken on his TDs.
EDIT: This Georgia/SC game has been a battle to two coaches trying to coach as badly as possible to ensure they lose.
HOT ROD NO
--
Clemson beating the shit out of Florida State, who still can't block & still don't have a QB that can throw the ball to the right team.
Georgia were awful there. Jake Fromm really struggled too... they Don’t have the same offence as last year.
That’s a great way of throwing away a place in the CFP. Tbf, I have no idea why LSU were below them. Hopefully they spank Florida and then bama on 9th nov.
The number of three yard runs they had on second & long was disgusting - it felt like their entire offensive gameplan was 'run hard, work the clock & hope Jake can convert on third down'. They need to change their offensive philosophy if they're going to have any chance of competing against the rest of the 'big six', and at this point you have to wonder whether they should actually be in the next tier down with the likes of Auburn, Florida & Notre Dame.
We've got some very talented freshman QBs playing already, by the way. Ryan Hillinski looked good for South Carolina before he got hurt, Sam Howell was impressive for North Carolina against Clemson a couple of weeks ago, Hank Bachmeier is keeping Boise State rolling, and Jaden Daniels looks to have just won the game for Arizona State.
EDIT: I should be watching Florida/LSU, but I just can't pry myself away from Louisville/Wake Forest.
I'm now trying to flick between both those games, Penn State/Iowa, the UFC & the Yankees/Astros ALCS game :uhoh:
Is todays UK game on BBC or Sky One?
Looks like it's a Sky Sports job.
Have the Panthers finally given up on Cam? :baz:
Jameis. :harold:
Well that escalated quickly :D
The false starts at fourth down and the free kick at the end of the half.
That’s a new one on me.
Apparently you can use it anytime after a punt and a fair catch obviously.
That's a corking interception. Couldn't have picked Keuchly out any better if he was a Bucs receiver.
Better put them down for the win then.
https://i.imgur.com/A7IiFJT.jpg
Hail Breesus carrying them from the sideline.
If there’s a dodgy decision going, the Vikings will come out on the good side of it.
Miammeh
EDIT - fucking idiots.
Baker Peterman is having a cunt of a season. Chubb will be a genuine OPOTY candidate if he can keep it up though. He's quality.
It was a fake 2 point play.
Drake was always going to bat it down.
One step closer to Tua.
Excellent stuff from the Denver offense.
So good having Garrett Holds at left tackle too.
I was driving from facility to facility for work and listening to it on AM radio and you should have heard them waxing poetic about all of the 2 pt conversions they had been practicing and how they must feel very confident ALL for him to drop the ball lol
Great play from Chris Harris there.
Week 7 edition:
Toggle Spoiler
I was already low on Georgia, so I've not freaked out as much as the AP voters, who dropped them from 3 to 10, but they do slip out of the top tier, so there's definitely room for them to fall further if they don't sort themselves out. There's definitely an argument for LSU at 1, but I just can't convince myself they'd beat Ohio State or Alabama so I can't get them higher than three despite them having the best resume of anyone this season.
The tiers have been cut from 5 to 3, and that third tier has at least another handful of teams in. It's pretty clear that the teams in the top two tiers are a step ahead of the rest (except maybe Oregon), and that third tier is where most of the movement will happen, as there are at least a handful more teams in that tier & they'll probably all keep rotating in & out of the top 25 every week.
Jared Goof is fucking woeful.
Devin Bush showed up on SNF, big first quarter performance with 2 turnovers. It was nice to see good, sensible football leaning on the run sealing a good Steelers win in the end. Go into the bye 2-4 and the Dolphins to play (in primetime :moop:) when we come back in Week 8.
Nebraska v Illinois makes meh spring to mind very quickly.
https://www.balls.ie/amp/american-sp...-dublin-418694
That’s such an unappealing game - Nebraska probably won’t even have Adrian Martinez in the 2021 season either :D
‘Hands to the face’ :harold:
I see on Twitter a lot of talk about the Refs beating the Lions. Was it that bad?
Packers were due one from the refs after all the years of robbery. Those receivers though, Christ. The drops :face:
https://www.xfl.com/en-US/articles/x...ck-assignments
https://www.xfl.com/en-US/articles/p...-draft-tracker
XFL draft is underway.
Quite a few notable names in there that I hadn't noticed were in the pool, actually. Defenders & Renegades rosters look interesting so far.
 fuck the Lions and their crying.
Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.
That pick had better not be more than a third.
EDIT: Fifth, apparently.
Shame to see Kenny leave but he wasn't working this year and had been a healthy scratch in the last two games.
A fifth is very good.
Ramsey off to the Rams.
Big boy trade that one.
And the Rams have a new CB...
Good to have Ramsey but we really need a new OL
Gutekunst needs to get on the blower and find a receiver. Could actually turn a waste season into a playoff one with a decent one instead of the shower that are playing currently.
I'd be surprised if none of the Denver veterans get traded. I've seen a lot of chat about how it'd make sense to try and gather some picks for Chris Harris and maybe it does but I'd be sad to see him go. Same for Sanders.
Pretty much everyone has won from those two CB trades, I’d say.
Except the Rams. Ramsey over Peters is an upgrade sure but the respective price tags seem mental especially when you consider they will have the same issues renewing Ramsey as they would have had with Peters.
I think the Rams only win if they win the Superbowl in the next couple of years. They have banked everything on winning with this roster, and already have massive contracts in Goff, Gurley and Donald. Ramsey will surely be the highest paid CB when he gets his extension, so where does that leave them with the rest of the team?
No chance they win with Goof though.
But... Bortles.
Oh yeah, long term the Rams are fucked, but it’s clear they’re not thinking about that, they’re going all out to win now, and Ramsey is a huge upgrade at a position of need. They’re in a much better position to win now than they were yesterday, so that’s arguably a win in their eyes
I still don’t think they’re going to win the SuperBowl though, so long term it’s probably going to go downhill fast in a few years. Apparently they’ll be going five years without a first round pick now, which is just madness.
Dolphins have benched Rosen a week after naming him the starter for the rest of the season :cab:
If I was a conspiracy theorist I’d say this was the evolution of blackballing. Shutting Kaepernick out was too obvious, so hiring a guy & actively putting him in the worst possible positions is the next step to ruin someone’s career without everyone kicking off :sherlock:
Denver's O-line sounds like it had fun last night.
That looked UGLY from the Denver line. KC looked to be collapsing the pocket immediately on every snap, Flacco could barely hold the ball every time he got hit, and they outsmarted themselves with some of their playcalling.
RIP MVPat though :uhoh: Sounds like he’ll be out at least three weeks, so I guess we should just hand the AFC West to the Raiders.
I only caught the score (and the big injury) there now, but I did see lots of Joe Sacko tweets early this morning.
I do love a ridiculous fake punt gone wrong.
Why did he pass it like he's playing netball? :nono:
Boston College/Wake Forest is on at the minute, which is basically my favourite game between two teams nobody cares about as they always have a handful of good players (Duke Ejiofor, Harold Landry, Bradley Chubb, Kelvin Harmon, Jakobi Meyers etc), and BC are running ALL OVER Wake Forest. BC have two monster RBs in AJ Dillon (250lbs) and David Bailey (240lbs), and between them they've rushed for 229 yards & 2 TDs on 20 combined carries before half-time :D
Oh and RIP Sooner Schooner
On the subject of things going horribly wrong in college football today:
Also, this is how you do a fake punt:
He's draft eligible this year, I think
Wake forest have a couple of notable qbs. Think two of the guys from qb1 went there. The freshman who played most of pilasters year was the dude coached by Will Grier’s Dad At Oceanside and only lost the job after getting injured. Looks like he won’t win it back either.
Florida are also struggling with South Carolina. If they spoil two sec teams CFP playoff hopes in back to back weeks it’ll be amazing.
Dan - you watched any of “Saturdays in the south”?
Yeah, Sam Hartmann. I think he's injured too as Wake have had three different QBs throw the ball in the first half & he was none of them.
Going back to South Carolina, DT Javon Kinlaw is making his push to be a round 1 player the last couple of weeks, and their freshman QB Ryan Hillinski looks like a solid player too. If they win this week they'll be ranked inside the top 20 from nowhere.
Not been watching the Saturdays in the South, but I've heard them talked about - is it just a history of the SEC or something?
EDIT: Just realised I've been saying Wake Forest but it's BC/NC State :D Got my three mid-tier brand teams jumbled up. Does explain why I ended up mentioning Chubb & Harmon though.
I’ve only watched a couple but yeah, it sort of focuses on certain aspects of sec footballl. Episodes I watched were about Hershel Walker, Steve spurrier, bear Bryant, the sec championship game being developed and Peyton manning.
I’m enjoying it a lot. Makes me so jealous I don’t live in America.
It's a bit unfair that Trevor Lawrence can seemingly run the ball like Marshawn Lynch as well as being able to throw it out of the stadium.
Looks like Florida have pulled their finger out & put this one away now :(
Yeah that failed handoff fumble really spoiled this as a contest.
I don’t mind Florida as much with trask at qb. Everyone loves an underdog and he’s the ultimate underdog.
Fuck Felipe franks though.
Justin fields by the way. He is smokin at Ohio state.
Hoping penn state level Michigan tonight.
I'm looking forward to Oregon/Washington in a minute. Will be interesting to see Herbert & Eason in a big game against good defences.
Fucking hell Wisconsin, way to shit the bed before you play Ohio State next week.
Illinois though  Almost got Michigan last week & now they take out a top 10 team.
Wisconsin man. They’ve fucked themselves two of the last three years. 2 years ago they just had to beat a mediocre Ohio state team and they’d walk into the playoffs. Lost.
Now losing to Illinois? Given the strength of teams this year elsewhere that’s them hosed.
I’ve got my dual tv line up going with the LSU game on one screen and Oregon/Washington on the other. Just need to work out which one I should have the sound on.
Good first drive from Herbert. They seem to give him a lot of quick, easy throws in their offence, but then he actually gets the chance to throw more than two yards downfield & you wonder why they don't let him do it more often.
I've got Oklahoma State/Baylor lined up - I wanted to check out Oregon State/Cal but couldn't find a stream.
Espn player?
7 day free trial?
I didn't need to watch it that badly. Found a series of channels on YouTube that do condensed games so hopefully a few of the Oregon State games will be on there - planning on taking a look at their WR Isaiah Hodgkins as he's getting some chatter this season.
This Washington stadium is amazing. What a place to watch college football. Imagine it’s extremely cold, but what a cool school. Plays in purple, great stadium, pretty competitive team consistently.
Am I right in thinking LSU haven't been on their usual form so far today?
Yeah they’re struggling a bit. Thankfully miss state are pretty pish.
Been watching the Oregon game more instead.
Nevermind, they've scored two TDs in quick succession. Normal service is resumed.
Washington's offence is looking good today as well. Eason had a nice deep ball for a TD earlier, and with Salvon Ahmed, Aaron Fuller & Hunter Bryant they've got some pretty good weapons. They could lose all four of them to the draft though, so it'll be interesting to see what they have next year.
JB at LSU is going to go above Herbert in the draft.
He’s just absolutely hammering it this year. I want to dig back through and see what I said about him last year. I remember about a year or so ago speaking to a guy at work from Louisiana about him and saying (stupidly) it wasn’t a shame he wasn’t going to be there this year... to which he pointed out he would. Boys been wasted sitting on the bench elsewhere. Baller.
He’s exploded this year. I think the general consensus around Burrow was that he’d be a day three guy who might become a decent backup, but with LSU opening things up this year he’s flown up draft boards. The question will be whether it’s him that’s taken the leap or if it’s the new system that’s creating all his success.
Hopefully he’ll be at the Senior Bowl this year, along with Herbert & Jalen Hurts, so we can get a look at him in another system. Definitely seems like he could be the second QB off the board right now though, and if Tua keeps getting hurt & LSU take out Bama, it’s not impossible to see him being the #1 overall pick a la Baker.
What’s the early Sky game?
Recorded the penn state game on espn and they appear to have put on the Spanish commentary version. A tad annoying.
If Miami aren’t careful they are going to lose the number 1 overall pick to the bengals.
Seems like ever since Whitworth left they’ve been struuuuuugling. This is going to be Daltons last rodeo as a starter all season. Tua, Herbert or burrows will be slinging in Cincinnati next year. Burrows is from Ohio... :sherlock:
They can cut Dalton without any dead cap at the end of the season as well.
Chances are one or two of them are going to be shite anyway so they better get lucky.
I feel for Dalton behind that O-line though. Every game, he's under so much pressure. I don't think any rookie is going to be pulling up trees unless there are some big upgrades there.
Refs are giving the Packers the win here.
He looked likely to be out but there was no angle to say he was definitely out, which is needed to overturn it in accordance with the rules. That gets called the same way for every team in the league.
That in too?
No that’s clearly out, unlike the other one. That’s how it works, if the evidence isn’t totally clear then it goes with the call on the field. It’s been that way since they brought replay back.
Even the refs can tackle Freeman.
This defense is all very Capers looking.
Fuck me, the refs might as well be wearing green and eating cheese. 3 TDs they've basically handed the Packers today.
Dalton is incredible.
Hearing 'MVP candidate Lamar Jackson' said aloud a few minutes ago was a bit jarring.
Stick that in your MVP pipe.
Pick 6 on his debut.
HERO.
Someone who sounded very white just said to someone who sounded very black 'I don't have any of those quick twitch muscle fibers like you and Lamar Jackson', and Sky immediately changed to another game. :D
Marlon 'Defensive Player of the Year' Humphrey
Philly are a mess. It was so bad I didn’t even finish watching the highlights from last night :D
Reynolds bloody apoligised when Spikes said 'crap' too. Fuck sake.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLQSniUB1hc
Watched Baylor yesterday too:
Toggle Spoiler
Also had SMU holding against Houston to go 8-0 last night. Their defence continues to be all or nothing though - gave up TDs of 75 & 96 yards by taking HORRIFIC angles, as well as a 44 yard run that set up a field goal, but then had two fumble recoveries & a pick. They also continued the wackiness by letting starting QB Shane Buchele punt once for 40 yards :D He's the next Daniel Jones.
It's a sad state of affairs. Doug being all bullish last Monday was all the motivation Dallas needed. There's just so many problems.
Though it is becoming more clear that all the offensive greatness we saw 2 seasons back was Frank Reich(watch the Colts to see where it's gone). We have no speed at WR nor at RB really. Which is causing all throws to be 5-25 yards at best. Wentz has the arm for better but he only has D-Jax that can go deep.
The defence has become a mess though. Jim Schwartz can organise a mean front 7, but behind that he's clueless. Last night he got caught so in between keeping the run game quiet and giving the corners help that we did neither.
I also go back to the comments I made when Foles left and I believed he was the better leader for the team.
85 Bears who?
3.6 passer rating
The defence is incredibly good, but I still wouldn't make those comparisons simply because the Pats have had an historically easy schedule to start the season off. The Bills game has been the only contest of note.
There goes Emmanuel Sanders.
Not a bad deal for him though.
Gutekunst should have moved on that.
Oklahoma :harold:
EDIT: Just found out there's a FOURTH McCaffery brother. Nebraska had to put their third string QB, Luke McCaffery, in today. It definitely seems like Christian got all the talent at the minute, seeing as Max is out of the league, and Dylan & Luke are backups behind bad college QBs.
Notre Dame :harold: Even Dylan got in on the act.
Just a reminder that the games start at 5 today thanks to the clocks changing.
The London game is on BBC2 also.
Minshew
Top notch.
I predicted Kupps breakout a year too early.
Bears have actually scored an offensive TD.
Right few empty seats at Wembley, bottom deck and all. I’d never looked for a ticket because I always thought they sold out in about 30 seconds?
Bungles are amazing.
83,720 at Wembley today.
Lowest since 2015.
Probably couldn’t last once the whole novelty wore off. Stadium full of neutrals is never going to be a good experience.
Da Bears :harold:
The Broncos could probably be a halfway decent playoff contender if we had a passing game.
That Bears miss belongs to Nagy more than anyone.
I don't think I've ever seen Miller get his hands on somebody like that before and not bring them down.
Here comes another agonising loss.
The Golden Oldie
Sigh.
Great ending.
Getting a bit bored of it.
Cracking fair catch by the Titans cheerleader there.
Chubb
Chubb :harold:
Flacco sounds happy.
Also, I can’t un-hear John C Reilly co-commentating on Oakland Houston.
The Browns are entertaining anyway.
Baker needs putting down.
CMC for MVP.
That was brilliant by Watson, especially as he got booted in the left eye.
One more win to be guaranteed 0.500 for the season. Never seen that coming was sure they'd have been 3-5 at best by this stage or worse after Adams went down injured. Rodgers is doing serious work with no receivers and a soft defense.
Drake was fairly cheap.
Why the draft really isn’t worth getting excited about.
Andy Dalton is benched in cinci. Beginning of the end for the TCU QB. Doomed.
Never forget the alum.
NCAA seem to be moving to allow athletes to be paid for images now too. California forcing their hand is working..
Is it worth a mid-season award vote?

No i know,i just saw it written somewhere as a fantasy football team name and thought it fit the "pun" criteria and was witty enough, that's all.
Sounding like no more Cam Newton this season. His foot hasn't improved since he last played and he and the team aren't sure why.
And Josh Gordon is now a Seahawk.
I did not see that one coming.
And won’t be by week 14. Waste of space.
I was hoping we'd take a flyer on him in Baltimore.
I'd assume he's a good run blocker.
Apparently Seattle were 28th in the waiver queue so that's a lot of teams passing on him.
Flacco has been placed on IR.
Mahomes missing another week. Was hoping he’d be around to torch these scrotes.
If you like offence get this SMU/Memphis game on - kicks off in 5mins & could easily have 80+pts
Imagine getting a pick and when you jump up to celebrate, some twat off your team knocks you so you fall and snap your ankle.
That truck by Duke was filthy.
Awful tackling but that might be the best thing Fant has done.
:D
That light thing that Baltimore do when they score a TD is super annoying.
Humps is the defensive MVP.
Nothing is worse than that fucking Vikings horn.
De'Anthony 'Black Mamba' Thomas has come to Baltimore
I've loved him ever since the 2012 Rose Bowl.
LSU/Alabama game is tonight  I assume @Foe will be watching, but it’s worth giving it a look even if you’re not a regular college viewer as it’s got the two QBs likely to go first in the draft next year, plus four potential first rounders in the secondaries, two first round tackles, two wide receivers, some linemen, and a few running backs.
Got it set to record as I'm north watching Ross county play Aberdeen today. Nightmare scheduling by my pals.
Will watch the recording tomorrow. Praying for an LSU victory - game is being shown on bt sport/espn for those that do want to watch it.
Look at Minnesota effortlessly going up & down the field on Penn State to start this game
Ohio State potentially losing Chase Young for the rest of the season due to him accepting a loan from a family friend years ago, which he's already paid back, is fantastically lol. I think four games would keep him out of the playoffs as well, so the timing is a bit suspicious *coughNICKSABANcough*
Do you not have a private group for the college games too?
Nah, it'd probably only be me & Foe.
EDIT: Minnesota 21-10 up coming towards half time & they're inside the red zone again. I thought they were good, and I thought Penn State weren't as good as they were being ranked, but I didn't expect this
Penn State in the red zone trailing 26-31 with less than 90 seconds to go. They've trailed all game but this is where they have to prove they're worth being put at 4 in the first playoff ranking.
CLIFFORD THROWS A PICK, MINNESOTA ACTUALLY PULLED IT OFF :alan:
Soon the NCAA will start placing $10 bills on the floor of college campuses, if an athlete picks it up he's done.
Apparently the money was so his girlfriend could travel to see him play in the Rose Bowl (not sure how that works if it was before his freshman year). They're also having similar problem in college basketball, so the NCAA are really just crushing it right now.
Sound cunt Dan.
.
Only just caught up on last week's games and the definite highlight for me was the Patriots all looking around for an official to throw a flag to stop that runback TD after the fumble, and it never coming.
That Bama LSU game by the way. Oh baby. What a spectacle.
Actually celebrated when they got the game ending first down. LSU are long overdue being good and burrow is such a likeable QB.
That tannehill "fumble" is absolutely wild by the way.
Tyreek looks like he's broken his collarbone again \0/.
THAT run by Lamar, my word.
I can’t wait for someone to break him in half. He’s asking for it in a big way.
Yeah, absolute madness. He's like Neo in The Matrix.
Yeah, great game. LSU flew out the blocks in the first half & held on in the second, but both RBs helped their draft stock a ton as well - that shot of Clyde Edwards-Helaire crying on (who I assume to be) the RB coach summed up the way Ed Orgeron (and Joe Brady, to be fair) has transformed that team. Coach O was almost crying in the post-game interview as well. There's an article on The Athletic about his pre-games with guys he's coached going on about how he throws shit around & punches himself in the face because he gets so fired up
They better not fuck it up and lose to ole miss or some other nobody.
To be fair to bama it’s not tattooed for them. Penn state, notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, auburn, Georgia and Florida all have losses too. Just tricky to justify a 1 loss sec non champion in based on “they look really good”.
They should be 4 - there's no way that any of those other teams would beat them more than 30% of the time - Georgia & Oklahoma might get 40% I guess.
Think my top 25 looks like this now:
Toggle Spoiler
USC are 26 & in the same tier, then there's a drop to the next tier which has the likes of Boise State, UCF in & goes down to 38th.
Yeah. Agree. But can imagine whichever conference(s) miss our will be pissed. Particularly if it’s oregon.
Chiefs
NEVER gamble on a Titans game.
That final drive by Kyler was shocking.
So much time pissed away.
The interception he threw was worse.
What a bullshit call.
Rodgers gets almost as much as Brady.
No different from all the Matthews ones that actually cost games when these came in. Correct by the rules.
Kittle & Robbie Gould our tonight for San Fran.
That was good.
Well, that was a heck of a game. Did they grease the ball? Must have been five or six fumbles between the two teams.
Should have been at least 4 more INTs from Seattle. They dropped more easy ones than the Ravens do any time I add them in fantasy.
Vernon Hargreaves got cut by the Bucs today :D Arians had just ripped him for not hustling enough on Sunday, but still surprised to see him go before the end of the year.
Preston Brown got cut by the Bengals too, but that’s not as notable.
Can’t wait for him to be throwing balls to AB & Dez Bryant in Miami next season
I don't think Miami would ever sign Kap cause of that Castro shirt fiasco.
https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/49...miami-reporter
https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/s...117033883.html
I've met Armando Salguero and he's a bit of a blowhard but anyways.
Bama move out of the top 4 in the CFP. and have limited chance to move up. They’re praying for someone above them to fuck up.
Georgia & LSU would play in the SEC Championship game as it stands so one of those two has to lose. You’d imagine it would be Georgia, and they could also lose to Auburn this week.
Ohio State should be fine, but Penn State & Michigan are still on their schedule so it’s not impossible that they lose.
Clemson should be fine. They don’t play anyone the entire season.
Well that got fucking crazy.
Garrett will surely be gone for a while, but let’s not forget about Maurkice Pouncey kicking him in the head while he was on the ground either.
Just the shitty cherry on top of a pretty awful night all round for the Steelers. Pouncey is a meathead, but if you see someone swing a helmet at your QBs head, I feel anger probably is beating logic there 99 times out of 100.
War Garrett.
Yeah, you can’t really be too mad at Pouncey, but he just went a bit too far with the intervention. Maybe a one game suspension & loss of a game check.
Garrett, however, could probably be permanently banned from the league & it wouldn’t be excessive. Surely has to be the rest of the season at the very least, if not a full year as the starting point. Legal/criminal action wouldn’t be shocking either.
Just mad to see if from someone who’s generally regarding as a really nice, mild mannered bloke.
I think it'll end up being 2 games for Pouncey (maybe to make sure he misses the return match in a fortnight) and till the end of the season for Garrett. Rudolph himself will probably get a hefty fine.
Probably one of the worst overall nights for a while for the Steelers. Shocking performance, losing to a division rival and losing 6 players with injury, 3 of them starters at skill positions. The wildcard race is still wide open for the AFC but with so many key pieces out injured (Diontae Johnson and JuJu with scary concussions last night also), I don't hold out much hope now.
The rematch at the Steelers in a few weeks will be interesting.
Schefter reckons Garrett is about to get the heaviest suspension in NFL history.
And so he should. He didn't really catch Rudolph with the helmet, but if he'd have swung that with the force of a man his size could, then we'd be having a whole different conversation right now.
I'm expecting somewhere between 10-15 games. Pouncey should be getting a fair few games too.
Reading down through this I thought you were all just doing your usual Helen Lovejoy routine but it actually is fairly bad. He'll be sitting a while.
Garrett suspended indefinitely. Christ.
Minimum rest of the season too.
I thought it would be rest of the season not including Playoffs if they made it.
Indefinetly is massive.
The Haslams' statement on it makes it sound like they're giving serious thought to cutting him.
Now that would be Lovejoy territory.
Pretty mental.
Rudolph has done pretty well walking away with just a fine. Garretts fucked given how the NFL want to act and that’s probably a serious fuck up on his part as he’s a $15m a year man when his rookie deal ends... perhaps not now.
Pouncey is just a thug though. Garrett was stupid, pouncey just looking to brawl. Throwing punches and kicks shouldn’t really be accepted either. I’d punt him for the season too.
If they ban Garrett forever I’ll be pissed.
I don't think the indefinite ban will stand.
I'm pretty sure I remember a player getting that in the past and going to court to overrule it. Should probably end up around a season in length of games.
Indefinite really just means "until we decide what to do with you." If they meant a life ban at this stage they'd call it that.
Intent has to count to the fullest here though. You can't go "oh bit he didn't hit him." He tried to brain him with a helmet. Treat it as though he did.
Those calling for legal action are mental.
Yes he hit him with a helmet. But he was happy standing there with it until the stupid prick charged him.
Steelers were awful also by the way. Probably a good thing this has over shadowed how poorly they played and how badly they were for injuries. Game was seriously dirty the whole way though. Lots of bad hits.
I think the ban will probably last for a couple of games into the next season.
Also, I think Pouncey only should have been banned for 2 games max.
RIP #TankingForTua 2019-2019
Yeah, hopefully it’s not as bad as a broken hip. He looked uncomfortable.
Burrow and Herbert have had good years too.. not great for him.
Bad for bama really too. No real big wins (and now the auburn game just got tougher). Then again, they won the lot with Jakob Coker and the sec with Blake sims, so who knows.
Also the league are doing their best to upset the Kaepernick workout(should be going on now).
They last minute wanted him to sign a different liability waiver to usual and due to it being in an NFL facility(the Falcons) they also decided that only their NFL cameras should be allowed to film anything for the media.
As such he's short notice switched the workout to a new, open facility. He wants an independent camera crew there and the ability for any team to film if they wish.
I'm hoping it goes well for him. He's better than plenty of back-ups in the league(I mean Mason Rudolph. Come on.) I just don't see it ending up in him being signed. When the President is out to fuck you over to the point you have people turning up to protest you potentially getting a job, I sense a lot of teams will avoid.
Uh oh. Early reports saying the injury Tua has looks very similar to the one that ended Bo Jackson.
Unless this was an output of the law suit I don’t get what the NFL is doing getting back involved. There’s plenty of free agents out there, they don’t organise private work outs for all of them, why this guy?
They’ve ended up looking like the bad guys presumably doing something they thought would give them positive PR. Playing with fire. Should’ve just let it be. If teams want to see him, they’d organise it.
Are they going to do the same for Manziel? How about zach mettenberger? Why not invite other free agent qbs?
I can't wait for the next lawsuit.
Photographer pitch side knocked out in the Georgia auburn game. Rough!
Probably the kick up the ass needed.. there’s too many people too close to the field in these games. Gtf back behind a barrier.
Also Georgia winning this is great. They need to smash auburn here to make the bama auburn game later in the year moot.
lol at the people putting Minnesota in the CFP then watching them lose to Iowa. Also lol at the people ranking Navy only for them to get shellacked by Notre Dame.
At this rate it’s going to be Oregon that gets in at 4, and I’d fancy any of the other three to kick their heads in.
Mon Utah then.
Iowa is a difficult place to go, so no shame losing there. However, not acceptable if you want in the CFP.
Going to be interesting if Georgia get smashed by LSU as they should in the sec championship game. Georgia has a couple of good wins but will the CFP want to watch a repeat smashing in the semi?
All gets a bit complicated if Ohio state slip up against penn state oe on the championship game or less likely Michigan. Playoff committee really needs Ohio state to win out, Clemson to win out and LSU to edge Georgia in the sec championship. Bama will win out and they’ll argue for eye test to put them in and it might work if the other conferences don’t have clear champions. Can see Georgia being punished for losing the sec championship game if it’s not close.
Bama would have been an easy 4 for me until Tua went down. I've not seen them with Mac Jones but I'm guessing they'll slide slightly down into the Georgia/Oklahoma tier, which opens the door for some of the teams in the next tier down.
Top 25 (well, 27 as that's the end of the tier) looks like this for me now:
Toggle Spoiler
I think Florida could be in the tier above, but they're out of contention for the CFP so I dropped them into the next tier down.
Glad Denver have a good defence so we can hold onto a 20-point lead. :moop:
According to a Broward County (Fla.) arrest report, Walton allegedly pushed the victim against a wall and punched her several times in the face and head after an argument. The victim is five weeks pregnant, according to the report, and Walton is the father of the child and was made aware of the pregnancy Sunday.
What an absolute cunt.
I assume that’s Mark Walton. Seem to remember he has history.
Shame cause he played at UMiami :(
Who are we tanking for now? :moop:
Jeaux Burreaux
Well, the Jets are tanking for an O-like, so probably Andrew Thomas or Tristan Wirfs. Unless they want a WR. Or a CB.
The Jets are bad, essentially.
NCAA is amazing.
Garrett aledges Rudolph used a racial slur during the altercation now.
Took him long enough.
Quite the confusing game there. The Colts took the Rams gameplan from the weekend gone and refused to throw the ball. Every play was pretty much a run, against a team with a decent/good run defence but a horrible pass defence.
Also a strange call I thought in that in trying to run the ball out inside 3 mins, the Texans let Watson keep one and replays showed he clearly fumbled the ball. However they never even looked at it on booth review. It would have given the Colts the ball around the 50 with some minute left on the clock as well.
It may have been within 3 minutes... but was it within 2?
Edit- assuming it was from the second part.
Yeah, it was with about 1:40 left on the clock. The second replay I saw definitely made me think the Colts recovered.
Regarding the Garrett accusation, I find it strange how it's taken this long for something like that to be said. And it seems like none of his teammates had any clue about it. I'm sceptical, especially if the NFL have already debunked it. Quite surprising to see Pouncey actually got a reduction in the suspension too.
Some shower of hippy cunts have got Harvard v Yale stopped.
33 fined for the Browns/Steelers match.
Having to cough up some cash just for entering THE FIGHT ZONE is pretty lol.
lol.
Sport really does bring out everyone’s inner idiot.
Getting blown out by the Browns and still won't have the first pick lol
Refs repaying the Saints in full at the end of the game there.
Davante Adams making shapes when the game is lost and he's playing like shite. Does he think he's Daniel Sturridge?
The Rams are woeful. Goff is guaranteed $32 million next season. They have no first round pick until 2022. What a shambles.
Remember when Loomar was talked about as a WR & McVay was a genius? Things change fast in football.
It's a bit ridiculous that Lamar Jackson is playing with many of the most impressive athletes in the world, yet somehow seems to be about 15% faster and stronger than everyone else at all times.
I keep expecting him to take that one hit that's too many but he keeps on going.
5 touchdowns on 15 completed passes is also obscene.
He needs to learn to slide but he’s unreal when he takes off, makes old videos of Michael Vick look cumbersome. Has looked more like a passer lately too, far more comfortable looking facing a rush and throwing instead of getting lucky chucking balls up with his eyes closed.
He was saying in an interview that last year he didn't know how to throw a spiral and that he was basically spending last year getting accustomed to the NFL ball.
Mitch Trubisky v David Blough.
What a Thanksgiving.
Any freebie games seeing as it’s thanksgiving?
All on Sky Sports/Now TV/Gamepass I think.
No Sky Mix.
I see game pass is €2 for the week but I’d be wary they wouldn’t let me cancel.
It'll be a "we've signed you up on a rolling deal but you have to call us to cancel it" type deal I imagine.
This anthem.
1-0 Blough.
Little less confident in my Lions prediction now I see that David Blough is the starting QB. Got to admit, never heard of him before today.
Decent entrance to the league that.
That was really smart by Prater.
I love the crap fake crowds during the halftime shows.
That STENGTH by Allen.
Shy Tuttle stiff arming Matt Ryan
Fucking up two onside kicks :face:
Cam Jordan :hail:
Jesus.
A woman is being held in custody.
Seems they got in a fight so he's clearly a twat.
How is this 49ers game not on SNF? Can they not move games in December?
Anyone watch the iron bowl last night?
@Dan?
Cracking tie. Bama looking so sloppy andToggle Spoiler
Joe burreaux ran absolutely wild on A&M too. I really hope cincy take him number 1. Tua is clearly a quality QB but he’s a bigger risk if his hip/knees are any indication.
Looks like it’s going to be a washout too. Glad I didn’t chance the now tv for it.
I just don't understand why they aren't the top school for kickers.
1. We will score loads of points, lots of extra points for you.
2. We are pretty damned good, you might win a national championship.
3. We are in the public eye lots on tv. Do you job and you'll go to the NFL.
It's not a hard sell.
Jayden waddle looks a proper talent though. He's like a Tyree hill weapon and despite being their 4th wr, could easily be a superstar when he comes out. Jerry jeudy doesn't seem to have the same chemistry with mac jones as he did tua. Reckon that's the last we've seen if a few of the wrs and auburn DTs. They won't bother playing the bowl game. Why would they take that risk?
Looked a blatant push-off.
Will be interesting to see how the 49ers cope, their first half of the season was filled with teams they really should be beating. Second half is pretty brutal.
In all seriousness the only option really is to go for injuring Jackson. He leaves himself open for it too.
I was watching on my phone whilst coming home and the Niners TD looked like OPI to me.
101 turnovers from Jameis in his career. Congrats.
That TD by the Dolphins was mental.
I hate Justin Tucker.
I, on the other hand, absolutely love LORD Justin Tucker.
Pack the fucking thing up, fire some people and come back for next year.
Lol at the Panthers, losing thirty yards then the ball from the Red Zone. Has to be a strong contender for worst play of the year.
Also Lamar Jackson definitely isn't the same man who was operating under that name last year. A year ago he could barely throw a straight ball, now he's throwing twenty yard passes side arm on the move.
Bad day for 4th and short today it seems.
:harold:
Industrial strength idiocy from the Chargers corner there.
That was great by the Broncos to heave it and hope for a moment of stupidity which Casey Hayward obliged with.
Never a fan of a kneel down.
For a game of ball, Christ
Ron Rivera has been axed, apparently.
:cab:
Is (was) he Carolina?
Yeah, there does seem to have been some background murmuring for a season or two, so it's been coming.
New head coach to try and get cam going again?
Or rebuild around run CMC?
I thought Cam was out for the year
He is. I meant next year. This season is a bogey for them.
The only place that Cam will be going is out the door.
He costs WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much against the cap and they can cut him for fuck all in the off-season.
Ya the Panthers guys I know have all posted "well I guess that's his last snap!" type shit over the passed few weeks
$8.5m in dead money but they save $14.7m against their cap.
They can run with Kyle Allen or Will Grier unless they fancy someone in free agency.
Allen is decent enough to give next season to see if he improves. Their defence repeatedly being torched is probably what did for him.
And on the fourth day of Christmas Brother Eli was resurrected once again.
Christ alive Utah absolutely shat the bed in the Pac12 championship game.
If that’s any reflection of what they’ve been like this season offensively they don’t deserve to be anywhere near the discussion about CFP. They’re done now though.
A Wisconsin victory over Ohio state, LSU blowout of Georgia and tight scrappy battle between Baylor and Oklahoma will
Make it interesting. Georgia win and it’s tatties for everyone else.
After not watching college football in a good while it’s hard going with the quality. It’s like watching NFL Europe, though still entertaining enough in its own way.
The LSU coach is like a cartoon :D
I never watch college football, but is that still Nick Saban?
Joe Burreaux
I bloody love college football. Maybe even more than the NFL now. This Georgia time have just been grinding through the season. But LSU and Ohio State play some seriously good stuff. Wasn’t very impressed by Oklahoma, think they’ll get smashed vs the 1 seed. Not seen enough of Clemson to comment but it seems like the top 3 are just miles better than the rest this year.
Lsu have a couple of absolute ballers in the secondary though. Stingley or whatever his name is doing what Delpit did in his freshman season : cementing himself as a first round pick in 2 years.
Burrow has to go #1 to cinci surely if they’ve given up on dalton. Unless that is dalton can win enough games at the end of the season to screw them completely.
If you can look past the poor coverage and tackling then it’s not too bad. Helps that NFL offenses have become more simplistic like college over the last few years. The Big 12 game was a good watch anyway.
Two decent games tonight.
There's nothing else on TV so I'm watching NFL redzone.
It makes no sense, it's like sports ADD.
It’s horrible, but it’s the way all sport will be watched soon.
Lock.
Can't wait for us to concede 40 second half points.
49ers @ Saints...Err, what?
Houston seriously shitting things up. How did that team beat New England?
93 yard TD as your first ever career reception.
Pass interference, of all varieties, have made this almost unwatchable now. Run down the field, run into contact/slow down in front of a defender/generate some sort of touching, fall over, get flag. Fun times.
So is this the third time the Pats have been caught filming something they shouldn't have been, plus Denver doing it when we were being coached by McDaniels and him getting another former Patriot to film whatever it was?
Sky Sports showing a replay of a basketball game instead of Redzone...
Horrendous throw from Watson.
Still no RedZone :moop:
And it's finally on.
That’s shit going down as an interception against Tannehill.
I haven’t watched much of them but I thought Allen had done well for them.
He started well but he's been really inconsistent.
I imagine they want to look at Grier to see what he has so they can evaluate if they need to draft someone or if Kyle Allen and Grier will be enough moving forward as Cam is going.
Also, Kyle Allen's contract is up at the end of the season. They can sign him to a 1 year deal with no negotiation (non-guaranteed minimum salary) but after that year he could walk.
Josh Gordon has left the building. Again.
Didn’t realise he ever came back into it.
Bring him back to Cleveland and pay someone to be on him at all times, just smacking joints out his hand.
Well, that was an utterly dominant performance.
Rodgers and Bakhtiari making the pro bowl :harold:
I thought this, but then I looked at the NFC. There's only 3 other teams with winning records and their QBs are Jimmy G, Cousins and Goff. None of them can be taken seriously as nominees so Rodgers it is.
Famous Jameis and his bid for most TDs and INTs in the same season would have been a lol pick.
Cousins should have definitely been there. He's having his best ever season by some distance. Now admittedly, some of that has been down to the O-line, but honestly I'd have him above Rodgers this season so far.
Yep, Cousins was a big snub.
Cousins is playing far better than Rodgers.
As if anyone still thinks the Pro Bowl is about who’s played the best this season :D
Bakhtiari is an even worse pick than Rodgers by a long way anyway. Where as a case could possibly be made for the QB, as above, Bakhtiari has had a really poor season.
The average Pro Bowl voter knows a bit about how well their team (by which I mean ‘offence’) is playing & almost nothing about anything else, beyond what they hear on the telly/internet.
O-line, defence & special teams voting in particular is all about whether a player has a lot of stats & a well know name.
Yes we are aware how it works but for such a big honour it needs a big change.
You’ve probably actually watched the Packers each week though. Most people just know that he’s highly rated on Madden & people say he’s one of the best LTs, so they figure they should probably just vote for him.
Also, he chugged a beer good & he wears 69, so that probably got him a decent chunk of votes.
It's all about the name.
Matthew Slater made the Pro Bowl one year in which he missed about half the games.
When I’m calling it a joke I’m not saying I expected it to be any different. I’m just calling it a joke, which it is.
I’ve not seen the roster aside from the QBs & half the Baltimore starters, but I’d assume Tyron Smith (plus Zack Martin & Travis Frederick), Terron Armstead & at least one of the SF tackles also made the team.
I bet half the Steelers line made it in too - Pouncey is one of the ones who’s usually highlighted for racking up Pro Bowls while playing like shit.
Isn't the Pro Bowl voting much the same as the Emmy vote for television, where once you've been once you need to have an egregiously crap year to not keep going as long as you're around?
On this page alone there's almost 4 different ways to phrase "the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest" and quite frankly it is quite the accomplishment.
This Bahamas Bowl is the most dire thing I’ve seen in a good while.
Joe Thomas (I think that’s who they said it was) is nauseating.
Also, is that all the crowds the Bucs pull now?
Their season is corked and it’s close to Xmas.
And jameis is throwing picks galore.
Forgot about Saturday football, ugh.
Another pick 6. Probably going to end up just being an INT.
Cracking start by the Bucs.
That's horseshit from the refs.
It’s worse he’s getting.
This game is batshit.
Winston :nono:
Brady is immune to intentional grounding.
O-Lineman passing TD
Baker Mayfield is a spineless little turd.
None of these seem too concerned with draft order.
Bengals can't even secure the top draft pick correctly.
Fuck the Cowboys.
Wow, Denver played a second half where we didn't have -20 net points.
Lads, I'm changing my allegiance.
I'm now a Providence Steamrollers fan.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provid...otball_League)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provid...Roller1922.gif
It was close between them and the Tonawanda Kardex Lumbermen.
Adam Gase has apparently been heard admitting privately that he doesn't care about the Jets fans or their criticism because "I'm rich as fuck."
He’s right, to be fair.
With the season essentially over, shall we get our teams of the season/all-pro teams done? Pick as follows:
QB x3
RB x4
FB x1
WR x5
TE x3
OT x4
G x3
C x2
Utility player/FLEX slot x2
-
Interior D-line (3-4 NT & DE, 4-3 DT) x4
EDGE rusher x 4
LB x4
CB x5
S x3
Defensive utility/FLEX x2
-
Kicker x1
Punter x1
Returner x1
Special team utility/flex x1
Should give you a full 53 person roster, handily enough.
What is FLEX?
Basically a choice of any of the above.
Yeah, sorry, meant to include that but I’m on my phone on the way home so missed it. The special teams ones also includes the guys on the kick coverage/block teams.
I’ll post my list in a bit - I found it hard to come up with enough QB & WRs, to be honest :D Loads of RBs that deserve a mention though.
So, err...we’re working out AB (and Maurice Harris) today :uhoh:
Signing AB would be worth it. Have him immediately placed on the exempt list and watch him melt down on Twitter.
Michael Thomas, AB, Josh Gordon & Dez
Can Brown even play, or are they looking at next season?
He's free to play now, but will likely be immediately put on the exempt list and be put under NFL investigation as soon as he signs somewhere.
Him actually playing for the Saints is about the only thing you’d think could possibly stop Baltimore at this stage.
He's only had 1 or 2 good games against us in the countless we've played. Jimmy Smith and/or Marlon Humphrey silence him, IIRC the only good games he's had against us is when both of those have been injured/suspended.
Our defence is more susceptible to running back screens and getting beat deep by fast receivers. The Chiefs are the biggest threats and that's how they managed to beat us earlier this year. Although it was in Kansas and our defence was a shambles then.
It's not quite in the bag yet.
The Ravens will likely have to beat both the Chiefs and Patriots. Chiefs already beat them once and you never write off the Patriots. Then you're likely looking at one of the Saints, 49ers or Seahawks.
I think they'd take the Seahawks, but their earlier matchup against the 49ers went down to 1 kick at the death.
Jackson is improving at a huge rate though and he’s basically unplayable at this stage. And it’s not like the rest of them are chumps he’s carrying either.
Oh I still think they'll win it.
But history provides us with recent examples. Cam Newton with a similar skillset and Mahomes who looked unstoppable at this point last year. They got into the play-offs and fell short.
Newton looked like a Massey Ferguson running compared to Jackson. He’s like giving Barry Sanders a good arm.
This NFL all time team is some load of bollocks with the amount of players they’ve selected at each position. And 10 head coaches? :D
Should have kept it to a 53 and made it mean something.
https://www.nfl.com/100/all-time-team/roster
LSU and Ohio State wins today please :yn:
When are they on?
Cheers. I see the cotton bowl is on too. That used to be a really good one every year (though this matchup isn’t getting the blood flowing).
EDIT: Didn’t it used to be an SEC Bowl?
Cotton Bowl (Penn State/Memphis) has started nicely. Should be a great run of games today.
LSU have flown out the blocks here.
Imagine what the Coach O speech must've been like today, especially with their DC losing his daughter-in-law in a plane crash on her way to the game. It's no wonder they've come out massively fired up.
Also, the Ravens have agreed a three year deal with Marcus Peters :uhoh:
Ominous start.
Run it, jalen and "throw it to ceded, jalylen" are a solid gameplan to at least make a game of it.
Oklahoma won’t be able to keep it up enough times to hang with these. At least 17 by the time it finishes.
It's over by the second quarter :D LSU just bullying Justin Broyles today.
Oklahoma still held back by their defence, and with the two best players (Murray & Gallimore) off to the NFL this year, as well as their QB & best WR, it does seem like their window might be slipping away a bit.
Savage stuff.
What a difference a qb makes though. Lsu were in purgatory before burrow and although he’s off this year to the nfl the legacy he leaves behind is immense. The recruiting they’ve got off the back of him will be stunning.
Transfer portal quarterbacks. Goldmine.
Are they even going to play Burreaux at all in the second half? They could have a legitimate chance to score 100pts here if they wanted it.
Not again, surely? :uhoh:
This game is going to make JK Dobbins a first rounder, and it really might end up being another blowout if things keep going the way the did in the opening quarter.
Oh boy, Clemson might end up losing Tee Higgins, Justyn Ross & Trevor Lawrence before half-time.
EDIT: Man Barbie back in, and Clemson now on the board, but now Dobbins down for Ohio State, who also had Shaun Wade ejected for targeting on the sack that put Trev down. LSU must be loving this so far.
Well that was a much better game than the first one! Three decisions lost Ohio State the game though.
1. Shaun Wade being ejected
2. The fumble being overturned (I have NO IDEA how that wasn’t a fumble, by the way)
3. Not going for 2 when you’re up by a point
Not Justin Fields’ best game, either.
So there's been an interesting "What if?" scenario worked out. The scenario is what if all of the games that finished with a 1 score victory had the 1 score reversed?
The table looks very interesting. Some teams dont change much, suggesting they mainly win comfortably. But others almost completely flip their record, perhaps suggesting they're bad at game management or unlucky. Or they constantly have the ball last but never finish the drive.
https://i.gyazo.com/e1b2ec89626f755e...eee7e079c4.png
So the Bottlers Table then.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...-42m-extension
Peters has been extended.
Panthers doing their best to provide a late entry for worst performance of the season. It's more than half way through the second quarter and they've gained sixteen total yards, four passing and twelve rushing.
Why is this shit on Sky? Did they let Reynolds choose what was shown?
They’ve had a horror show of a season, CMC aside.
They might be best placed just shoving mccaffrey in wildcat at this point.
What’s going to happen with dalton too?
There’s no way the bengals don’t take burrow #1 but dalton really hasn’t been bad. He won’t want to sit as a backup. Trade to someone as a placeholder?
They've been bad but not this bad. They wouldn't have scored a point all season if they'd been this bad for the duration. If the Saints left their starters in for this whole game they could put up eighty plus.
Nice catch for a LB.
Fitzmagic
Gilmore has been fisted by Parker.
Good man Fitzpatrick. Still though, wouldn’t put it past the Pats to get to FG range here.
Where was the 15 yard penalty on the restart there? Do they kick it from closer rather than send New England back to the 10?
Miami.
I fucking love Jameis Winston.
That’s the cheap shot you’d expect from the Lions.
Crosby will miss anyway.
He tried to.
How the fuck this Packers team is one game away from #1 seed in the NFC is beyond me. They’ve been shite for a large portion of the season.
I’m not going back 5 days in this thread to check if anyone posted it but this Wilkins guy just became my favourite player.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B6ojooenT8Y/?igshid=1ojp3fkhjc44o
Yeah, Christian Wilkins is an elite 'football character' guy. Starting D-lineman for Clemson, nailed on first rounder, still played on all their special teams units, played FB & RB on some packages for their offence, and even took a snap at safety in their spring game
Meh, he's no Pat Ricard.
Just read that Kitchens had been binned at the very same moment the delivery driver turned up outside with my pizza. What a thirty seconds that was.
Usually teams wait until Monday after week 17 (Black Monday in the NFL world), they barely waited an hour.
Poor bastard.
Crazy game between 49ers and Seahawks.
Seahawks down by 5 with the ball in a 2 min drive at the death. They work it to the 12 and on 4th down pick up 11 yards and get a first down with 30odd seconds left but no timeouts. They spike the ball at the one. Then all huddle up as Marshawn Lynch trots on to fanfare. While he joins the huddle and they're discussing the play the play clock runs to 0 with no Seahawk noticing.
Lynch trots back off and they try to throw it in, completing 1 pass on 4th down again, but the guy is literal inches short and they lose.
They could stick Mayfield on the same bus out of town as Kitchens.
Fuck sake Seattle :moop:
New England beat Tennessee
Houston beat Buffalo
Minnesota beat New Orleans
Seattle beat Philadelphia
Baltimore beat Houston
New England beat Kansas City
San Francisco beat Minnesota
Seattle beat Green Bay
Baltimore beat New England
Seattle beat San Francisco
Baltimore 38-17 Seattle
We(Seattle) going to the SB with this squad? This OL?You must be on some high class drugs cause that aint happening....It would be awesome though.
Pat Shurmur gone now too. Jason Garrett looking likely shortly too.
I'm seriously hoping that Greg Roman isn't tempted to be a Head Coach this season.
What he's done for us is incredible.
I’d imagine it’ll be Baltimore or KC versus SF or New Orleans, but the playoffs always throw up something weird so inevitably it’ll be Patriots v Packers
Black Monday is in full effect. I suspect Josh McDaniels will be the defacto "he's worked with Belichick so he must be good" option of the year.
Also Carson Wentz has become the first Eagles QB ever to pass 4000 passing yards in a season. He's also done it without any WR getting above 500 yards. Considering there was a lot of talk midway through the season about him maybe not being the right QB, he's done a hell of a job to even get us to the play-offs.
Thought on Sidney Jones? Seems like he’s been out in the wilderness for ages, but they’ve given him a go lately & he’s made some important plays. Not seen enough to know whether those are the only good things he’s done, or if he’s actually looked like he’s figuring things out.
I'm not too sold on him. He was seen as a relative steal when we drafted him due to his injury, however he's not shown a great deal up until lately. Was in and out of the team throughout the middle of the season too.
It does look like he's figured things out a bit, or that Schwartz has figured out more of what he can/can't do. Let's not forget our defence has been torched through the air most of the season. Still he has made a few big plays lately so I hope that continues.
Consistency.
Washington have hired Ron Rivera. Maybe they’ll finally get their shit together with Bruce Allen out the door & Chase Young staring them in the face at pick 2.
John Dorsey out in Cleveland too. Fairly harsh.
That's a pisser. :moop:
Apparently after some guy from the Eagles who used to be in Cleveland.
Not really a surprise. Despite a talented roster(mostly) there's still a losing culture around there.
Wipe it out and start from the ground up.
Andrew Berry is the guy they could be looking at. I’d love to see Dorsey back in GB in some capacity but someone will surely bring him into the top job.
Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl. Fucking hell :face:
Cleveland are talking to Greg Roman :uhoh:
The Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl is crud.
Is the Rose Bowl tonight?
Nah, 10pm tomorrow. We also have Michigan/Alabama & Minnesota/Auburn at 6pm tomorrow
Throwing Frosties instead of Gatorade over Herm Edwards :D
JJ Watt is back for the playoffs.
That Sunday Night game was something.
Mike McCarthy to the Browns it seems. So ends the dream of Hue Part 2.
Thank fuck for that.
They seemed to be the main team trying to get Greg Roman to leave us.
Well there’s Jerry jeudy with another 85 yards (on the first play).
Why’s he even playing? Bona fide first round pick.
Also a load of chat of Matt rhule from Baylor heading to the giants.
They’re playing later tonight (against Georgia I think?) so is suspect that might heat up tomorrow if true. He’s done a phenomenal job turning Baylor back around. Got preeettyy lucky a few times through the season winning tight games but he quite cool to see a new name rather than just the rotational churn weve seen with the first two appointments.
Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma is (obviously) being linked with the Dallas job if Garrett gets the punt. Think that would be quite popular in the Dallas area.
Have BT just ditched the rest of the bowl games because they had the soccer today?
Pretty much. Rose bowl from 10pm is on.
It's very annoying when they only show the last 30 mins of college game day in favour of cricket or motorcycle racing. They canned the first 2 hours one Saturday this year to show a repeat of a cricket match in the Indian premier league. Ditching a live feed for a replay :moop:
Hoping the rise of the NFL popularity will filter into the college game and bt sport will up their game. I periodically buy espn player to watch various bits and pieces.
Never knew about ESPN Player. Is it legit in Europe (no messing with US VPN)?
How much rights do they have during the year?
Yep. I had it last year and it was £20 a month I think. This year it’s £10 for a month but they always offer a free 7 day trial which I have used a few times.
There’s normally a whole raft of games on there. Maybe useful for the residual bowl games but definitely give it a look if you’re into college basketball or next year for college American football.
I’m sure @Dan has probably got an opinion on it too. Can cast it via a chrome cast too which is very handy.
Note - I’m watching the Michigan Bama game right now on espn player. It’s not on espn.
Perfect. Is it abc? I think ESPN is part of abc, or was anyway.
Probably too late at this stage for the bowls but will definitely grab it next season. Cheers.
Passage?
The volleyball team was my favorite part of college.
Just stream the games or watched the condensed versions on YouTube - Matthew Loves Ball is the main one I use for condensed games.
First game of the playoffs in 20 minutes.
Just in case folk forget it kicks off on a Saturday.
Texans bills. Think the bills will take us down unfortunately. Texans shit the bed when it matters.
Saturday is not for NFL. Hate when these are on.
Be worth it if the patriots [b]crash[/] out to Vrabels gang.
Great opening drive.
That opening drive
Texans offensive line is a genuine disgrace. If I was DeShaun Watson I'd be looking for the exit for the good of my health.
Gahahahahahahahaha.
Fucking hell, if that stands that's amazing :D
EDIT: Aww, that's sad.
Boooooooooo.
Baldinger's pinky finger can get to fuck off my TV.
Watson finished that like Derrick Henry.
A little shot but still.
Edit: Or not.
Bills O-Line have really fucked them.
Although Josh really needs to feel that pressure which he NEVER does.
Bills have thrown this away like it's contaminated. Shocking second half from them.
As good as that first Buffalo drive was, that last one was twice as bad. They just gave it up in the second half.
They get it back though. Here we go then...
Josh Allen is a fucking dullard.
What the actual fuck is Josh Allen doing right now? Brain has stopped working.
Didn't Roby drop a sure fire pick 6 right at the start too?
He was clearly short.
Throwing it deep to a fullback in double coverage is hilarious.
How does he not get sacked there? Fucking hell.
When Derrick Henry is on it there's basically nothing you can do about him, is there?
They make you commit 7 or more to the box. Once you do that AJ Brown starts scoring. Henry is a monster.
AJ Brown has pretty quietly had a brilliant Rookie season. Were it not for the hype around Metcalf drawing all the attention on that team I reckon Brown would have been taken much earlier in the draft. He's clearly very, very good.
And so the Patriots have moved into clog up the box mode. Brown and Tannehill are going to have to shoulder some work now.
I imagine Belichik will be waiting in the car park with a balaclava and a big stick for his centre after that illegal man downfield penalty.
I really don't want to like anything about the Patriots, but the Edelman documentary brought him across so well and nailed everything so perfectly, right down to chyroning Tom Brady as 'Julian's work friend', that I've softened to them.
Vrabel using great knowledge of the rule book there. Has the Patriots SEETHING.
What the fuck was Edelman up to there? :D
End of an era stuff there.
Usually when their backs are against the wall the Patriots play their best stuff. They had nothing tonight.
Likely to lose a lot of pieces too.
First part of the best weekend of the year does not disappoint, although a bit sad to see the Bills choke again.
Running the clock at 5 minutes was absolute genius. The seethe.
And it turned out to be critical as well.
Nah. They'd got to three in a row, the odds (even for the Patriots) of making it four was always going to be slim. It's very hard to sustain.
They'll be back in at least one more Super Bowl before Brady and Belichick are done.
Still nice to see them go out though.
Fucking thought the games were the other way around tonight. Sod’s law that the only one I’ve little to no interest in seeing is the one in the handy 6pm Sunday slot.
Vikings saints is probably pick of the bunch too. :cab:
Last night couldn’t have gone better for me tbh. Texans win, despite being average, and the patriots are out.
Had Henry in fantasy the last two seasons. Love that man. Just a wrecking ball. Last year or so he does it more regularly all over the field too. For some time he just popped up on the goal line to smash it in.
Everyone seems to be desperate to hang Josh Allen out to dry.
With about 6 minutes left in the 4th, Titans had a 4th and long, so were punting but the clock was running. They took it all the way down for a delay of game, clock starts again and they take it all the way down and deliberately false start. Then the Pats stupidly false start and then Titans take the clock down and finally punt.
Cut near 2 minutes of time off the clock and meant the next time the Patriots got the ball was essentially their final possession.
God, Sky are explaining how the playoffs work :face:
I think I just threw up a bit watching that Vikings bit. I know the Packers don’t want to be seeing the Saints, but fuck it. I hope they absolutely destroy these cunts.
Already off to a great start.
Taysom Hill to Deonte Harris
Brees should not be allowed to throw deep.
Well, I think we can see where this is going.
Stefon Diggs seems like a bit of a cunt.
Diggs seething when he doesn't see the ball is great.
Knew the saints would blow it
We're clearly just not a playoff team.
Taysom Hill or bust.
Yeah, get all the old QBs on the bonfire with Rivers.
Bust it is.
Just bench Brees.
lol
I know Big Ben has said he's planning on coming back, but ignoring that it's not impossible that we could lose Brees, Brady, Rivers, Eli & Roethlisberger this offseason.
Give me another ref fuck up against the Saints.
The seethe would be monumental.
I fucking hate the playoff version of the Saints. It's always got to be dragged out as long as possible, be packed with drama & end in failure.
Hero
I look forward to us losing in overtime without ever touching the ball.
Beautiful throw.
Bye, Dan.
Thank God I switched that off at half time.
Look at the state of Luke Willson :D
Anyone keep Foles' number?
We do have a decent record of backups coming in in the play offs...
Josh McCown
Josh McCown throwing to Deontay Burnett & Greg Ward with Boston Scott in the backfield.
THIS IS HAPPENING. IN THE PLAYOFFS
And we still beat the Cowboys with this :D
Sounds like he's in some bother by the looks of that.
Tough way to bow out that, but we just ran out of guys to turn to.
We only had Ward at WR who caught a pass. The rest was just to a TE or a dump off. Even then McCown was limping through the game. I also question some of the calls at the death of the game. To get a 1st and goal on the 10 with only a TD being good enough, should really see 4 shots at the end zone. Considering how Clowney was destroying the front too they should have been quick passes from shotgun.
Even with all of that said, we did extremely well to make a game of it and a season of it. I'd quite like to see some younger blood in at WR over the off season and maybe a change in OC.
What a wildcard weekend, it must be said. 4 close games with 2 overtime finishes. A couple of surprises with the Titans and Vikings winning. All we need now is Tennessee to roll to the Superbowl, with Derrick Henry rushing for 200 yards every game.
Titans/Vikings in the run it bowl
You're excluding the greatest ever rushing team?
It doesn't count when it's all trickery and play design. This is for REAL NFL teams, that run it straight down the middle on all three downs. Get the Redskins in there while we're at it.
Hope the Ravens walk it from here.
Cowboys have hired Mike McCarthy.
Just me who doesn't rate him?
We have Tua.
On the subject of injured Alabama players making decisions about whether or not to enter the 2020 NFL draft, did we mention Dylan Moses returning to school? This LB class is going to be pretty bad, but next year you’ll have Moses & Micah Parsons, which is going to be at least on the same level of beastliness as the Devins.
Also, does anyone remember the name of the qb displaced at Clemson by Trevor lawrence?
No. Didn’t think so.
What’s this Burreaux shite about?
https://fanbuzz.com/college-football...-senior-night/
Tua to Miami at 5 is the obvious call, but they could easily trade up to 3 if they really want him & someone else tries to make a deal with Detroit. Not sure whether Fromm is coming out - the talk of him going back to school picked up in the last month of the season - but even if he does he might not make the first round anyway. He'll get lots of credit for his football intelligence & character, but his arm is average & he's not mobile, so you could argue he's the Josh Rosen of the class in terms of play style.
Justin Herbert will go in the first & then you have Jordan Love & Jalen Hurts who are guys that teams could probably talk themselves into based on TRAITS.
Oh, and @Foe, the name you're looking for is Kelly Bryant.
Haha yeah I knew it was Kelly Bryant. I just forgot how much of a shitter his post Clemson career went. Injured at mizzou. Nice one.
Is deondre Francois draft eligible yet? 😉
Hurts I think will go in the second. He’s a better josh dobbs with a history of wins. Could see someone like Tennessee fancying him as a back up / develop option. Maybe even Baltimore if trace mcsorley is deemed expendable.
Yep, Francois is in one of the small bowl games this week, actually. I saw a Twitter post earlier today with a list of QBs on one team that included him, Khalil Tate (I thought he'd said he was going back to school but evidently not) & Alex Hornibrook.
No idea who any of the others are. I've not been on it this year really.
Cracking.
Rhule to Carolina and Joe Judge (Patriots special teams) to the Giants.
Rhule getting $62m for that too.
And he’ll go down in flames.
I dunno, he’s done an excellent job at Baylor, and it sounds like he’s going to get a decent bit of backing - apparently Tepper has already agreed to build him a sports science department like he got set up at Baylor.
I’ve just discovered that there’s an OT in this draft class called Ketel Asse
https://www.si.com/nfl/2020/01/09/nf...visional-round
This is pretty dry but I still found it interesting.
Yeah, it’s interesting to see how paying up affects roster building - it does seem to be the real world version of playing a Madden franchise if it had a hard mode.
I had entirely forgotten that Manning took a paycut with Denver to help keep other players and assumed he was going to be one of the $20m exceptions.
Fuck them for putting Ravens on late tomorrow :(
Don't you stay up watching shit until all hours anyway?
Yeah but I'm no longer a young man and I hit the wall around 3. These games usually go until 4:30 or so.
It's an interesting conversation. A good QB fit is surprisingly hard to find these days. However if it were me building the team, unless the QB is properly special then I would be asking them to get on a team friendly deal or find a promising rookie.
I'd definitely pony up for Wilson and probably for Rodgers, but a Cousins or a Jimmy G? I'd rather put that into the O-Line. The Broncos showed the value of spreading the cash elsewhere when old Manning won despite his arm disintegrating.
If Jackson keeps up his current level or close to it he should be in and around $40m too.
As did the Ravens when they won with Dilfer.
Still the only QB to be released after winning the Super Bowl.
That was the best defense ever played the game though. We’ll never see the like.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...hamstring-tear
McCown played with his hamstring torn off the bone which happened sometime in the second quarter. That's mad.
He's going to be out for around 6 months.
lol.
Al Harris
The Packers could really do with winning this to exorcise some of the demons from the last time, but their defence will never slow Wilson down.
I had heard he has signed a contract with them but just assumed it was an ambassador role or something and not as an actual competitor.
Errr what? I also love that the shirt has Bimbo on it.
Vikings/Niners in about an hour.
Good finish to the FCS championship game.
And of course for the first time in 6 weeks, NowTV decides to be a turd.
Turns out he lost 6-0 yesterday in the quarter-finals (apparently if you're playing for the host club you advance automatically).
It was against the guy who finished third last year and the year before but still.
His whole tournament hasn't gone well:
https://www.mlssoccer.com/emls/2020/overall-standings
That was a great opening drive from the Niners.
And that's probably game.
Happy days. Whoever likes can win it now.
Prediction: We'll score two quick TD's to put pressure on Titans, they'll move away from Henry and he'll get less than 100 rushing yards.
5 Heisman trophy winners in this is pretty lol. Is that a record?
That is a mad catch.
Awkwardness intensifies.
Jackson has been shite. Get fucked, Mahow.
Although that was a fucking exocet he's just sent to Andrews.
Sorry but I'm not having one of the players being called 'Hollywood Brown'.
He's also the Cousin of Antonio Brown.
He isn't alone in having been shite, but even in the run game he's been hesitant.
Penalties are also killing us.
Also, Titans have gotten away with a couple including this dirty hit from Simmons:
Their best defender is Correa right now who was a massive bust in Baltimore :moop:
That was nice.
Im no expert but Jackson is making it look like me playing Madden 2003
That's some catch, my word.
And now you see why he's called Hollywood.
Jackson beginning to turn it on now. He's a joy to watch when he takes off.
That run from Jackson. He looks like everyone else should do what he does but you know it’s impossible.
His acceleration is pretty bonkers.
As I said, I don’t watch a lot but he seems to force so much time in the pocket and then just teleport 30 yards. It’s incredible to watch.
Henry.
He's been taking four yard nibbles all day but that's the first time he's really got shifting. He was largely before my time, but from clips and descriptions it seems Henry is basically Marshawn Lynch.
Mahow doubted the King.
I missed.
Pretty much over if they score here.
The other team having a massive bloke who can also run fast seems like cheating while we’re at it.
Going to take something monumental to win from here. Fuck.
We're going to have Ryan Tannehill winning a Superbowl.
Green Bay and Kansas struggle to stop the run. Ravens are good at it and look at what the Titans are doing to them.
Niners are the best equipped to stop the Titans but I don't know if they can.
This Titans team looks really good right now and they've knocked out the perennial challengers and the team most people fancied to win it all.
:D
Ugly throw.
This reminds me of the Cam Newton gameplan the Broncos openly admitted.
Cut off his biggest threat in his rushing and then force him into throwing. He's not bad at it, but there's a mistake in him.
Our gameplan was wrong, I don't know why we didn't run it more. Only 9 carries for our running backs (6 for Ingram and 3 for Gus) when the team is so much more potent when that run game is going. We became one-dimensional.
If they weren't being given the ball back every 2 mins that would be less of an issue.
Ravens must have at least double the total yardage of the Titans here yet it still feels like a blowout.
this Commentator doesn’t seem to understand what the statistic he’s being showed means and just started ad-libbing.
Lamar Jackson was worth over five hundred yards on his own and they got one touchdown in the game.
Just checked the late game score and I'm gonna need to file that one under 'lol'.
If Aaron Jones isn’t the majority of the offense tonight then Seattle are going to cruise this. Metcalf is going to hall be a field day.
Can we get Mahow on suicide watch?
Nobody will have earnt their ring more
It would be quite funny if they do it now (it's hard to see past a Titans/Niners Super Bowl) considering the Bowl is in Miami this year.
Who needs QB passing yards.
The King wants his crown.
I also didn't see the Patriots keeping McDaniels.
Lamar’s passing yesterday was ridiculous.. so many throws behind the receiver or just floated. It’s better than it was last year but the fact he will probably win MVP is mental.
Be interesting to see what teams do against them next year. A full off season to figure out their scheme.
Derrick Henry is unbelievable. Problem for the Titans is if he gets a knock, game over.
If Henry gets a knock, just move Tannehill to WR and get Mariota back in to float up long bombs to him. Easy win.
Jackson is about as clear an MVP winner as you’d find.
Big Andy's KC run defence will sort out Henry no bother.
:uhoh:
Still reckon the Seahawks will do a number on SanFran and make it. Could easily have beaten them in week 17.
The AFC is way up in the air though, I’d put all three as a complete toss-up. Maybe the Texans the slight weakest of the three.
You should never count out the true MVP.
Patriots not exactly dealing with the end of the dynasty very well, it seems.
BB needs to retire, head for the hall of fame, let them rename the trophy, and let Josh McDaniels do the Moyes job.
That was a great play call.
Another bye week rusty fisting inbound here.
Oh fuck.
Well this is making me feel better.
Too early. Still 55 minutes for PattyMah to hose us.
‘Mon
Critical drop-pass-itis spreading like wildfire among everyone bar the fucking 49ers.
Get fucked you child beating twat.
This is like a carbon copy of last night, but the shit's hitting the fan much quicker.
I meant Wilson.
This is all kinds of lol.
Are we going to have one team just completely not show up in all of these playoff games?
Please don’t fuck this up.
What the fuck's happened here?
Is this the worst set of playoffs this decade?
It seems the Chiefs went out on the piss on the bye week.
The boos
Once again, get fucked child beater.
I love Justin Reid
Not good.
Better now.
I am scared. :(
More better now.
They go for that but not the 4th and 1 deep in KC territory?
What the fuck is happening?
Make it stop.
:( :( :(
Oh boy
Thompson basically stopping for a second was weird as well.
This is pandemonium.
Passing it backwards now.
Hopkins going full Josh Allen there.
Can we put the other game back on? I don't like this one.
Can we just play the National Championship games five times?
Wtf is going on
I don't like this game.
This has been a mental turnaround.
18 more points needed for a playoff record.
Wait, BOB was actually thinking of punting there? :D
He's shit.
The HoF president has taken to surprising past coaches on air, to inform them they've made the HoF.
:uhoh: This is 2015 coming all over again.
Russell Wilson is unreal. He’s going to win this on his own.
I never dreamt that sack of shit Graham would be one of the players to come up big in this one. 3rd and long was the winning of it all night.
I can't believe they didn't have a camera angle from the other side of the field on that 3rd down. He looked clearly a half yard short on it.
The yellow line looked more off to me. The view where you can see the marker showed it was probably a first down, not enough to overturn it anyway.
That said, I hope it was short and I hope Pete Carroll is absolutely seething.
ESPN are apparently preparing to offer Romo ALL the money to go to them from CBS.
https://www.si.com/nfl/2020/01/13/to...r-broadcasting
And in other news Denver are trying to get Shurmur as OC which seems a decent move.
National championship game tonight gents. Lsu Clemson on espn. I’ve got it set to record and will watch it in a day or two.
Praying for an Lsu win. They’re due one and Burrow has been worthy. TLaw could go off though. Hopefully a cracker.
It's probably a bit late but can we get this Hall of Fame curator guy into the Wrestling Biz?
https://media.discordapp.net/attachm...31/unknown.png
Him v Andre in the squared circle would have been all-time.
The refs were spotting the ball appallingly all weekend but that Packers game took the piss. What with their 3rd down conversion rate and the friendly official crew they're going to get absolutely rinsed by the 49ers next week, sadly.
A Chiefs v 49ers game is probably the best bet for entertainment and closeness. I feel any mix in of the others would lead to a one sided game one way or the other. That being said, anyone but the Chiefs from here.
The Mahomes bandwagon is already annoying as it is, we do not need him getting a ring. And I'm saying that even though it is Andy Reid.
In terms of who I'd like to win:
Titans
Niners
Packers (a long way down from the other two)
Chiefs.
Bound to be a Packers/Chiefs final now with the Chiefs winning.
I'd agree with that Mahow.
Derrick Henry getting a Super Bowl ring would go nicely alongside his MINDGAMESBOWL win over Thommo in our Yahoo fantasy league. :nodd:
I just want the AFC champs to win.
Unless the 49ers walk it I reckon it should be an entertaining superbowl, none of the other participants seem overly bothered with defending (maybe harsh on Tennessee). So in all likelihood San Fran will just shut it down.
It needs to be the Chiefs if it's to be entertaining. SF would shut down Tennessee handily enough.
I'd have taken hand and all off if you'd told me the Packers would reach the NFC championship game though with a new (and completely unheralded) coach and one receiver, even if they are taken apart on Sunday. Still reckon they should have went out and got a receiver when they had the good start with Rodgers' career tailing off so badly as that could be the window closed, but it's been a class season.
Worst 13-3 team ever
The guy writing about Chiefs / Texans for the Guardian has got a bit giddy and seems to be suggesting a more traditional pocket passer cannot possibly win against a mobile quarterback.
We'll just ignore the last five Super Bowls obviously because mobile QBs were only invented this year seemingly.
Wentz was pretty mobile until all parts of his body started failing. Is he still?
Having not read the article, presumably the point is that the 'emerging talents' or 'direction of travel' for QBs in the league, and coming out of college, is towards these more 'dynamic' chaps to the point where it might be hard to find a classic pocket passer if that's the way you want to go (other than the existing ones).
Then Jimmy G wins the superbowl.
He is, but he doesn't have a play-off win to his own name yet. He did put in great work in the Superbowl season, but we all know it wasn't him getting it over the line. A shame really because that's always going to be there against him now.
[The idea that peak Manning or Brady would struggle now is just absolute nonsense. Yes ideally you'd like a guy who can do both but a good coordinator will work with what he's got and if that means a very talented quarterback but one who you need to create good protection for then so be it.Quote:
The non-mobile quarterbacks who win strictly with their arm, playing with rhythm and tempo, are now dinosaurs. You cannot win with Brady (or at least the early, non-pocket mover edition rather than his current incarnation) or Manning anymore. The game is too fast, and defenders and defenses are too versatile, too complex. Nowadays you need a quarterback who can improvise, break the script every once in a while, and isn’t afraid to make risky throws. You need a Watson or Wilson or Rodgers.
Kuechly has announced his retirement at 28.
Also, Netflix are releasing an Aaron Hernandez documentary tomorrow.
Luke Kuechly has, seemingly, just retired. :serious:
Either his body is starting to tell him to stop, or he's had some concussions and been checked out now the season is over.
A shame to see him go as he clearly wants to keep playing.
Wow, that massively sucks :( Panthers have stolen Joe Brady away from LSU as well, so I look forward to all the futile speculation of them trading up for Burrow.
On the opposite side of the coin to Luke, Larry Fitzgerald is back for one more year
Fitzmagic
Further supports the Tua to Dolphins rumours.
SEETHING.
I haven't seen him play but his numbers don't exactly scream HOF although it is funny that he's the only guy on offense of the 70's Decade team that isn't in the HOF.
Lsu :)
Burrow
Kuechly
The Texans :(
Pearson getting what he deserves for his shitty speech in the Philly draft.
Just watched the first 2 episodes of the Netflix Aaron Hernandez documentary, the guy was (obviously) messed up and there's a lot in it that I didn't know at the time.
I know that following his suicide he was diagnosed with CTE but I wouldn't have been surprised if he had done most of it even if he hadn't suffered from brain trauma.
Yeah I'm interested to watch that. I looked up that story again the other day and had totally forgotten the homosexuality thing as well.
Warrant out for Beckham Jr :D
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ell-beckham-jr
I thought the warrant thing was a joke :D
Carries a maximum of 6 months and a $1000 fine.
They shouldn’t have all been knobs to a police officer, but putting out an arrest warrant for OBJ is laughable.
It would have been amazing, however, if the guy had immediately turned round & cuffed him in the locker room.
Antonio Brown's agent has 'conditionally terminated' their relationship. He seriously needs help. The more I see of his crazy actions, the more I think back to that huge hit to the head he took from Burfict in the playoffs.
I’d love to know how many involved in LSU wanted that twat around in the first place. The win wasn’t about him no matter how much he wanted to make it.
So, by the start of next season LSU will have lost:
- 'Passing Game Co-Ordinator' Joe Brady (now OC for the Carolina Panthers)
- Defensive Co-Ordinator Dave Aranda (expected to replace Matt Rhule as the head coach at Baylor)
- Starting QB Joe Burrow
- Starting RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire
- Starting WR Justin Jefferson
- WR Derek Dillon
- TE Stephen Sullivan
- Starting LT Saahdiq Charles
- Starting LG Adrian Magee
- Starting C Lloyd Cushenberry III
- Starting RG Damian Lewis
- Starting DT Rashard Lawrence
- DT Breiden Fehoko
- Starting EDGE K'Lavon Chaisson (probably, I don't think he's actually declared yet)
- Starting LB Patrick Queen
- Starting CB Kristian Fulton
- Starting S Grant Delpit
Odd aren't looking great for a repeat.
He wants to fight that absolute tosspot Logan Paul but look at his hand speed and movement.
