What are the main new features? I've not played for a few years.
Genuinely, half the features they announced were already in FM19 (short term loans etc.)
- ME Improvements
- Development Centre for U23 and U18
- Club Vision (which will probably be viewed once in any career mode, at the start of the save)
- Backroom Advice overhaul
Basically, a data update.
Club Vision is the only notable thing that's new to the game apart from the usual graphics update etc.
If I cave and say I'm buying this someone ban me. The last two have been shite.
A good match engine update would make up for a lot of the shite they have pointlessly added over the last five to seven years, but I fear this will still not be a game for people with jobs.
Bring back sliders.
And WibbleWobble.
Already broke the game, ME is a joke again:

I've started with Liverpool, won the Community Shield and am about to play my first game of the season.
Signed up Sergej Milinkovic-Savic for £66million and Steven Sessegnon for £14million, while selling Lovren for £30.5 million with another £8mil if he plays.
The bigger news is that Jonathan Panzo and Erling Haaland are set to sign next summer, having already agreed deals, I wanted to give them a season where they are but make sure I had them.
First season done - quite enjoyed it - the game seems a little quicker this year.
Lost the community shield, but won 11 of my first 12 league games - thinking I was gonna romp the league - however, December came and about 30 games in 2 months (league, carabao, world club cup, European cup) - I managed to lose league games, and also only managed 3 wins in my last 8.
In the end, finished 3rd in the league, behind Manchester clubs. Won the Euro Super Cup, World Club Cup and Carabao Cup. Inter beat me in the CL Quarters on away goals.
I also signed Savic and Haaland, and sold Lovren :D

I'm undefeated in 74 games lol. This breaks the match engine near enough:

Mejbri is fucking insane this year:

That skin actually looks quite sharp.
How is it better?
I downloaded a modified version of the dark skin that fixes how bright the news is.

More responsive, the match engine feels better (although there is an issue with 1v1s currently, but it is a beta). They've implemented new plans for clubs, so you have a seasonal plan with goals and aspirations and a long term plan with multiple targets to achieve. I haven't had a player piss and moan about lack of playing time yet as, when you offer new contracts, you can pick their specific roie in the squad (fringe player, impact sub, squad player, star player etc). A lot of QoL implementations. Training is the same as last year, which I liked anyway.
u18s and u23s have been moved to the development centre, and you can get early feedback on youth intakes, so say a month or two before they come in you'll receive a report from your DoF or HOYD with information about whats good and bad etc. Game is a lot more responsive (although my PC spec is ridiculous so it helps), and I've yet to see an actual, big annoyance bug.
An example of club plans (it is Man Utd so loft ambitions):

Glad I avoided group G!
I want @John Arne banned immediately for daring to sell Divock Origi. Contract for life.
Whatever they’ve done to speed it up is welcome. I’m noticing smoother processing, lack of juddering in games (I can play new shooters on my Mac without issue so I’ve always felt it’s their optimisation). Too early to say what dev centre impacts, and otherwise it’s an update at the end of the day, but I’m enjoying it.
For perhaps the first time ever in CM/FM I took over Arsenal first, having done my usual and loaded up with Swedish Feb 2020 start date and found them 9th, coupled with my detest for Emery’s management of the club at the moment it felt a good option. Drew with Sheffield United and needed away goals to beat Rennes in the Europa but since then have won 5 on the bounce to head back to the top 6 and get through to Roma in the EL semis. Glad to see that not only are Nelson, Nketiah, Sami and EMS great prospects, but also John-Jules and Balogun from the U18s. Should be a nice save to ease into the new game before heading for a downloaded 8th Tier club or similar.
Oh, and a) wonderkids seem more reasonably priced from the scouting I’ve done, and b) I like the contracts / player pathway promises where you tell kids what role they’ll have over the duration of a contract year by year.
Bodybagged by virtual Neil Warnock, I'm surprised Miles hasn't put a mental health helpline number in for that.
Miles probably followed him with a recorder for six months to get it right.
Anyone given Touch 20 a go? Is there a beta for that? 17 was probably my favourite FM of all time, but 18 and 19 were a mess. Playing on Mac too.
Going well ten games in.

How dare you concede a goal against West 'am.
I know! Just let 2 in away against United, still won though.
Game is broken as fuck:

You're no Neil Warnock.
Ah good. They’re all getting new long term deals a week before it starts
I still play CM0102 with the updates and I doubt that's going to change. I did give 2019 a little go, I think but I swiftly lost interest.
Maybe if I ever have a machine capable of making the game run as fast as CM then I'd be more inclined but I want to rattle out seasons and play casually these days.
Can the FA scrap the Bosman rule? That’s a bit of a bugger.
You'd hope not. How can you retain any 'ownership' of a player if they aren't contracted to you?
It would take about 5 minutes for a competent lawyer to ride right though that.

Heartbroken.

Any news on how well this will run on Stadia? If it's processed super quickly I'd be interested in throwing a tenner a month on it until I'm bored.
Warnock mind gaming Liverpools season into the sea.
Benfica are offering me 200m€ for Christensen. wtf!
And he rejects them
