The Spanish title race is shaping up nicely. Valencia have just taken the lead at Barcelona and Atletico and Real have both won. All three will be separated by a single point if this stays as it is.

It says a lot about the league that despite being on an awful run of form and 1-0 down, Barca are still at 1.4 to win the match on Bet365.

It was completely theatrical and overblown. There's no way you can be that blind just because he isn't a 'dirty forriner'.

It was almost like he was mocking someone else for diving it was that bad. Bit of a stumble and go front first and it works so much better, he probably gets the penalty.

Definite dive and yellow for Vardy. As they've just shown on MOTD though there were so many holding/pushing incidents in both boxes, so one penalty each is probably "fair" even though both were harsh. If they were penalties he probably had to give about 3 more.

This is my problem with the decisions. You can't pick and choose one or the other - it's all of them or none of them.

I still think they should go in the first day of a season and say there will be penalties every time it happens. You'll have one weekend with about five penalties a game, but it won't happen again.

As much as Vardy's a diving cheat and the ref is a complete idiot, the worst player (as in biggest dickhead, not performance) on the pitch was Ogbonna. He committed at least 900 fouls today, and I don't think any were awarded.

Lee
18-04-2016, 08:42 AM
I've had plenty of time to reflect as well as the benefit of a load of replays and I still think the refereeing display yesterday was among the poorest I've seen. Second only to Remi Harrel's efforts against us when we played Atletico in the UEFA Cup in 1997. And he was fucking bent.

In the first thirty minutes he was blowing for everything. Mostly in West Ham's favour, although I guess that's only relevant because insofar as I support the other team. One of the incidents he blew for resulted in a booking for Jamie Vardy. It wasn't even a foul, let alone a yellow. Vardy's second booking is probably fair enough, although loads of similar incidents each week are just left alone. Vardy's reaction after being sent off was stupid and if he gets his suspension extended it's his own fault. Incidentally, Payet has dived later in the game and was on a booking. Nothing.

West Ham's penalty is a right laugh. Nothing has happened in that box that isn't happening at every corner at every ground every week. West Ham's approach to corners is literally to knock defenders over to clear a path for Andy Carroll. It's going to get physical. And Winston Reid has dived as much (or as little) as Vardy did at the other end. You can't be booking Vardy for that then giving a penalty the other way for the same thing later. Our penalty is an even bigger joke.

Moss shouldn't referee again this season. It was that bad. I've never booed a ref in my life before yesterday. I've never seen that sort of reaction to a ref from a crowd either.

John Arne
18-04-2016, 09:26 AM
The West Ham penalty was also a clear dive by Reid.

Moss was awful, however, I do have a little sympathy for him. The amount of cheating and deception in the game was incredible. Most of the decisions were wrong, but he also had to deal with a lot of shit (perhaps of his own making by not booking players for grabbing earlier).

Yeah I forgot about that. It was a complete dive.

Browning
18-04-2016, 10:33 AM
Reid made the most of little contact, where as Vardy went out of his way to force contact and then threw himself on the ground. Both are dives, but Vardy's was worse.

Vardy also probably should have been booked for a bad tackle before the one where he did get booked, so don't think he can complain about the red card.

Still both penalties were a joke unless you're going to give all the other ones, as I've already said.

To be fair they can't not charge Vardy after he's called the ref a "fucking cunt". He'll get an extra game ban but that doesn't worry me too much. We can either put Okazaki in the main striker role which he's capable of doing, or we go to a 4-2-3-1 which has worked when we've switched it up in games. But the failing to control our players one is a mess of a decision. That fat useless cunt failed to control the game. I hope he's given a week or two off as well.

How can Leicester be charged with failing to control their players when they only received 4 yellow cards - I thought that charge was something like whenever your team received 6 or more yellows.

Plus Vardy's reaction was strong, but nothing unusual. We see players regularly squaring up to lino's and screaming obscenities at them. I actually agree with the idea of adding a game for his reaction - but then they have to do it for everyone - the inconsistency is what everyone gets annoyed at.

He cheated. He got sent off for cheating. He moaned that he got sent off for cheating when he did Infact cheat.
Fuck him I say. Deserves whatever they throw at him.

They just need to do that on a consistent basis that's all. I'm sounding very anti Vardy here, but i love how he played non league only four years ago (yes! 4!!) and I do want Leicsester to win the league.

If you watch enough rugby you start to price shit officials in, so I can't remember when I last SEETHED at a referee.

I always think they're fine. I normally think it's funny to hear other people around me moaning about decisions. Me and the old bloke in front usually just share knowing glances which say "yeah, that was a foul dickheads, wind it in". Yesterday was properly incompetent though. It worked both ways but I think we got the worst of it.

Never mind. I'd have taken a draw with West Ham before yesterday. We should beat Swansea without Vardy and I had United down as a defeat anyway. We'll beat Everton at home. And that should be that. If Spurs drop any points between now and the end of the season two wins will be enough. And they will drop points. If I'm wrong and they don't we'll need to beat Chelsea on the last day. Chelsea are already on the beach.

The best thing about Alli is that he rekindles fond memories of the transfer committee.

Ranieri does love finishing 2nd, abit like Wenger loves finishing 4th.

Also, what has happened Dembele? He's been nothing but a plodder for years.

I notice the yids are singing 'Fuck 'em all...' quite a bit these days as well. Cunts.

When I heard their 'You're fucking shit' chant in the United match I thought you could see it coming back to haunt them when Mourinho toilets a 1-0 out of them on his way to the title.

I think you'll find Mourinho's off to Everton.

He doesn't play good enough football for them.

Dembele's always had the quality. Plodder is not how I would have described him. He just had no consistency, even within individual games sometimes.

Can't believe Lescott said being relegated was a weight off their shoulders. What an obnoxious cunt.

Lescott was just a drop in the ocean of farce that we've become. The club's fucked.

@Raoul I'd go with those three in a diamond with Sterling no10. He did it well for Liverpool.

The FA have charged Vardy with improper conduct (which will mean an extended ban) and the club with a failure to control the players following the West Ham penalty award. Fuck off.
They should have charged Vardy. But then you could say the same for Rooney a thousand times as has been said (I'm not sure he's said quite the same as Vardy). But regarding controlling players that seems a little strange given players crowd around refs fairly often.

What do you mean by the ref trying to control the game, in your other post?

You won't go straight back up either. In fact I genuinely think you'll 'do a Leeds'.

If we don't come back up then that's fine. We'll still play football every weekend. What I do want is the owner and practically the entire squad out the door.

Yes, they should have charged Vardy. I've said so.

I mean the referee lost control of the game. In fact he never really had it. That would appear to be the general consensus too.

They'll 'do a Wolves' and get relegated again in my opinion.

It's actually quite hard to go straight through the Championship. There is some wank down there. Then pretty much impossible to go through League One unless you get a Portsmouth style points deduction. Lord knows Coventry have tried.

In two to three years we'll be talking about how the bright side is that at least we'll win some games in League Two, and that fella's ragged 'We'll be back' sign from Villa Park in 2001 can get another airing.

Hardly, can see the glaring parallels between both clubs, albeit Villa are in a worse state.
