The only slight chance of Arsenal losing again this season. If they do, it's over though.

Think this might be where Leicester don't win as Sunderland need it even more, but they have too much in hand now and Spurs still have to beat United and visit Chelsea.

Pearson genuinely would be a good fit for Newcastle I think. Both times he came into Leicester (the second time especially) he had to clear out a load of timewasters and overpaid deadwood and built a solid squad with the right attitude. He has his limitations no doubt but I think he'd do alright there.

They will keep whoever they can't make a profit on (everybody) because they will expect to go straight back up and won't want to dismantle a Premiership-quality squad.

They will keep whoever they can't make a profit on (everybody) because they will expect to go straight back up and won't want to dismantle a Premiership-quality squad.

There's a few who only have a couple of months left on their contracts. Then almost half of the squad has a year left, think they'd be happy to cash in, they tried to ship both Tiote and Cisse out to China recently.

Lost causes like Riviere and Gouffran will be interesting ones, as they'll be on pretty big wages, they might just take the hit. Sissoko and Janmaat came in on the cheap, so they'll be gone.

Lol at the state of the newer signings though. Hopefully someone looks at Wijnaldum's goal record and takes a punt. They guy stopped giving a fuck ages ago.

Shindig
10-04-2016, 07:38 AM
The only players I'd hold on to are Townsend, the goalkeepers and Mitrovic. Shelvey's been a complete wet fart and Wijnaldum can't carry any more. There's going to be a purge which Nigel Pearson will probably oversee. That makes it sound like mass murder. I have no idea why we signed Saivet. Arguably our biggest problem is the recruitment record. We had one excellent summer but since Cabaye and Ben Arfa have left with Sissoko going completely off base.

Pace but no creativity.

Even if we fuck it up Spurs are just a much better side than Arsenal this season. I stopped worrying about them the day they beat us in February. They just don't have it in them. If Arsenal get within a couple of wins of first place they'll shit themselves.

Anyway. Spurs will win today, I think. Stoke away next week is probably tougher for them than this one.

Nothing outlandish, but watching him the last two weeks he has real difficulty even acknowledging it as a possibility. Fancies Spurs because if we lose one we'll feel the pressure, because we've never lost a game in this position at this stage of the season before. We may well lose (I think this is a tough game) but I've seen nothing to suggest that would result in a horrible collapse.

It was me, yeah. Obviously this prize is much bigger but at the time of winning the second tier that felt as big given that that's been our historic equivalent of what we're doing now and we hadn't won that in more than thirty years. And staying up the way we did is at the top end of what we've achieved historically so also felt massive at the time. If we lose it from here it won't be because we haven't coped mentally. It will be because another team was better over 38 games.

It's not football culture so much as masculine culture. The same rules apply in shithole pubs. I'd like to agree but if you flip it over to the bottom half of La Liga where it's basically a contest to see who is best at feigning injury, I'm not sure that's any more palatable.

Leicester were good there, without anyone (Kante aside, he was class) being outstanding. They just look like a good side, as you'd expect, and showed no sign of 'bottling' it or feeling the pressure. Okazaki and Kante were everywhere and the defenders were solid throughout. They're very good at keeping the ball and doing the right thing as a team, unlike us.

We didn't play too badly but never really showed enough. I think we just run out of steam, and it's a shame because we have some good players.

I don't think even most Leicester fans think it's the most incredible thing ever. Forest doing what they did is better and Ipswich winning the league under Ramsey probably is too. And that's only English football. I find it bizarre that some Leicester fans are bothered where it sits historically.
