Nice goals but this Kiev team have been happy to lose 2-1 since they scored.

Nah you guys have always overestimated the amount I watch. I'm not bored of it at all, but too much is too much.

Good news on the injury front - Ox is injured all season!!!!

Santi be back soon, so Ramsey will be shifted back to the right.....

How is he only 38!?

Jimmy Floyd
25-02-2016, 06:23 PM
He was a right wee sproglet at Arsenal.

But for him and Altintop, I would have had that lineup down as Bayern Munich 36/37 season on FM as they go for their 18th Bundesliga on the spin.

I reckon van Gaal is gone tonight if they don't get through. Giggs as interim. I think the feeling from the fans will be too strong to ignore.

His book is a really weird read. I can't imagine he had much to do it, but he doesn't strike me as having particularly interesting opinions.

Reg

This is really good. :D

Listen to Barry from around 9 minutes: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/audio/2016/feb/25/football-weekly-extra-champions-league-review--big-sam-west-ham

Liverpool...more like Liverpoo.

That sitter Henderson missed a moment ago. Jeez.

His book is a really weird read. I can't imagine he had much to do it, but he doesn't strike me as having particularly interesting opinions.

I read it about ten years ago. It was okay, but my suspicion is he won't offer tremendous insight into the game in the mould of a "Carra" or "GNev".

I only follow the Europa League, unless we're in it, for coefficient reasons these days. Not sure if that's more tragic for it or me. It's been a good week for England though, we're right back on Italian tails for 2017. Kind of need United to go through tonight though, and Napoli out.

Spain are so fucking far ahead at the top.

GS
25-02-2016, 08:00 PM
I only really care from the semi-finals onwards.

Reg
25-02-2016, 08:00 PM
Martial injured. That's the tie done I reckon.

Jesus Christ. We truly are fucked.

Jimmy Floyd

Marcus Rashford?

Get him on the plane to the Euros.

Sir Andy Mahowry
25-02-2016, 08:07 PM
What a team and what a fucking subs bench that is.

Reg
25-02-2016, 08:08 PM
Credit where it's due, Louis has built a triffic squad.

Ian

Anyone have a link to those freefootylive streams that are always decent. Can't find them and am stuck with shit at the moment.

Sisto Stu is too good for us.

Lovely goal and hopefully Van Gaal is out tonight.

Memphis doing something positive.

Shit is really fucked up tonight.

Sir Andy Mahowry
25-02-2016, 08:49 PM
Mata is so fucking shit at penalties.

Oh and Memphis has found his level.

Sir Andy Mahowry
25-02-2016, 09:26 PM
Rashford

What a beast, lovely cutback from Mata too.

Ian

They actually looked to attack with intent.

Who needs Tony Marshall when we've got Rashford.

Memphis running riot. They should have subbed that poor full back about an hour ago.

CJay

Nah, he released another one. It's basically a blow by blow account of 14/14 season, interspersed with other Liverpool memories. Just really weirdly written, and not very interesting.

Giggles
25-02-2016, 09:47 PM
Josh Onomah looks exactly the type of player that's nailed on to be tearing it up for Wolves in the Championship in a couple of years before getting a £22m move to Liverpool and disappearing into oblivion.

Sir Andy Mahowry
25-02-2016, 09:50 PM
Rashford should have taken it.

Although Herrera shows Mata how you take one.

Baz
25-02-2016, 09:51 PM
Ah well, was funny while it lasted.

is the draw completely random? United vs Liverpool final could be tasty.

Pen
25-02-2016, 09:51 PM
Should've let Rashford take that, but at least United are through now.

Sir Andy Mahowry
25-02-2016, 09:53 PM
The scenes in the Basel game...

St. Etienne whip the ball in and the Basel keeper just falls over and they pop the ball in. Then St. Etienne go down the other end to score again which sends them through.

Sir Andy Mahowry
25-02-2016, 09:53 PM
Oh and Memphis has had a fucking brilliant game, probably his best.

Reg
25-02-2016, 09:54 PM
Have you been watching the goals show? Oh 'How you character.

Lewis
25-02-2016, 09:55 PM
Your youth scoring used to be just about the best bit of FM. Good for him.

I've been switching between the two.

Memphis running riot. They should have subbed that poor full back about an hour ago.

So he's looked good against Midgetland, PSV and Brugge.

Outstanding

Reg
25-02-2016, 10:27 PM
Well yeah. I said the other day he wasn't much good. That's his best performance, and it was really good, but he's hardly proven himself yet.

That was good fun tonight. Joins a group of about five van Gaal matches.

Lewis
25-02-2016, 10:41 PM
'Memphis' was always going to be piss 'n' wind for at least a season. Let's see how he goes in a (hopefully) less horrendous side next year.

Jimmy Floyd
25-02-2016, 11:03 PM
Quite a tidy last 16 there. Maximum scenes would be generated by such ties as United v Liverpool, United v Valencia, or Liverpool v Dortmund, but the whole competition's a waste of time because Sevilla will win easily like they do every year.

Spurs v Lazio too, if racism is your thing.

Oh definitely give him more time, without doubt. Could definitely believe he could become one of their best players. Tricky wingers/forwards are exactly the type that go from inconsistent magic to world class player.

Max Power

Spurs/Dortmund is a cracking tie.

Sam

Shakhtar Donetsk v Anderlecht
• FC Basel v Sevilla
• Villarreal v Bayer Leverkusen
• Athletic Bilbao v Valencia
•Liverpool v Manchester United
• Sparta Prague v Lazio
• Borussia Dortmund v Tottenham
• Fenerbahce v Braga

Tasty draws there.

Bilbao/Valencia is a nice one as well. Villarreal and Leverkusen.

Quite looking forward to a few of these.

Sevilla might as well just keep the trophy. They seem to be in the mix all the time.

Same can be said for the usual bunch of Valencia/Athletic Bilbao as well, both always seem to in and around it.

Jimmy Floyd

Basel too. Their club coefficient is mega. Nailed on in Pot 2 for the Champions League next year.

Reg
26-02-2016, 01:47 PM
Really good set of matches. Lazio have got a bit lucky there because they're not a particularly good team this year.
