I can't wait for tomorrow. Even if we lose to both City amd Arsenal we will only be three points off the top. If we get anything from either game the it's properly on. I think we'll lose tomorrow but we're not short of confidence and this lot are gettable. Football.

Reg
05-02-2016, 10:29 PM
It's already on, Lee!

We were good tonight. Our first win by more than one goal. I was working too late to get there so watched on telly - looks like that went for many by the empty seats. Knockaert seems a proper player, cheers Leicester. Brentford had big gaps between their lines for most of the game; the third goal was stupidly easy.

Samadini

Berahino winner off the bench.

Davgooner

Win or bust.

Baz
05-02-2016, 10:50 PM
I've captained Kirchoff in fantasy football and advised my mate to replace Liverpool on his coupon to Sunderland. Walk out on 77 minutes? Just don't bother going, we're worse than we ever were under Sir Brendan. It's a disaster.

Waffdon
05-02-2016, 10:50 PM
Leicester should be able to get at City's defence fairly easily. Demichellis and Toure tracking against Mahrez and Vardy

Reg
05-02-2016, 10:54 PM
If Toure plays as one of the two in midfield they might as well take the loss before kick off.

Giggles

3-0 City.

:(

Which one?

I look forward to our 0-0 draw.

Shindig
06-02-2016, 06:03 AM
We're getting murdered. Mbemba's out for a month which now means we have like 2 fit defenders. #Should'vekeptMike

Samadini
06-02-2016, 09:49 AM
Steven Taylor is going to get a game even though he's not back from injury.

What could possibly go wrong?

Lee
06-02-2016, 12:03 PM
Usual attacking line up from Claudio. The risk.

Davgooner
06-02-2016, 12:28 PM
Leicester. :nodd:

Shindig
06-02-2016, 12:34 PM
Whilst we're at it, I'm fuming we sold Shane Ferguson whilst we were short of left-backs. State of it, man.

Lee
06-02-2016, 12:41 PM
I'm shitting myself here.

Gray Fox
06-02-2016, 12:47 PM

Everyone is backing Leicester for this. Gunna be the longest 90 minutes of your life Lee.

John
06-02-2016, 12:56 PM
Toure is worse than a man down when Leicester are in possession.

Reg
06-02-2016, 01:00 PM
Toure is worse than a man down when Leicester are in possession.
They even have a logical solution without changing the eleven - shift Toure forward, Delph back to centre mid and Sterling left wing.

At least you won't die in a plane crash on Monday.

It's only bad luck that will stop Leicester scoring a second though.

Magic
06-02-2016, 01:17 PM
Are you at CoM stadium Lee?

Nope, watching on the box getting mardy at Schmeichel's shit kicking.

Albrighton was a lucky boy there.

Lee
06-02-2016, 01:34 PM
Jesus Christ. We're defending really well but we won't survive another 45 minutes playing as deep as that.

QE Harold Flair
06-02-2016, 01:37 PM
Kante is really the man here. He's like a smaller Vieira in the way he plays.

Lee
06-02-2016, 01:37 PM
Kante is our best player. I think he'd be great for Arsenal, actually.

ScousePig
06-02-2016, 01:37 PM
This is not finishing 1-0.

06-02-2016, 01:51 PM

This is amazing. I really hope they continue like that in the coming months.

Reg
06-02-2016, 01:53 PM

Brilliant. Though, if they let it slide and the yids get a sniff, I'll fucking hunt Lee down and murder him.

-james-
06-02-2016, 01:55 PM
Gutted I'm not a Leicester fan.

Mellberg
06-02-2016, 01:57 PM
Yeah, I might have to fuck Villa off and move East. Sensational from Mahrez.

Lee
06-02-2016, 01:58 PM
Good save, Schmeichel. Then the goal kick FOR FUCK'S SAKE!

Mellberg
06-02-2016, 01:59 PM
If they hold on here and Spurs and Arsenal draw they'll be six clear. Have a word.

It's fucking awful my pants are going to be a mess by the end of the match.

John
06-02-2016, 02:01 PM
Taking Toure off is the best thing Man City could have done.

It's been what, four years now and Toure is still 'out of sorts' when he's been a lethargic twat in a game not going his way.

John
06-02-2016, 02:02 PM
Hahaha.

Fuck me.

Lee
06-02-2016, 02:03 PM
Right that's it, I'm going into clinical shock.

06-02-2016, 02:05 PM
I wonder what Nigel Pearson thinks of his son around about now.

Davgooner
06-02-2016, 02:05 PM
Hope that cunt in the Leicester end got a good recording of that on his phone.

Lee
06-02-2016, 02:05 PM
I'm in genuine disbelief. This is ridiculous.

Jimmy Floyd
06-02-2016, 02:06 PM
Taking Toure off is the best thing Man City could have done.

It's been what, four years now and Toure is still 'out of sorts' when he's been a lethargic twat in a game not going his way.

It's got to the point where his performances are indicative not of the fact that he's declined as a footballer but of that fact that he is a bad, nasty person. Too much evidence to the contrary now. He'll be off to China soon I guess.

Fucking Robert Huth bundling two in for the champions elect.

Boydy
06-02-2016, 02:06 PM

06-02-2016, 02:10 PM
Newcastle's sub bench is fucking amazing.

Toby
06-02-2016, 02:10 PM
Mahrez looks knackered. You could probably get away with giving him a rest at this point.

Lee
06-02-2016, 02:11 PM
Mahrez looks knackered. You could probably get away with giving him a rest at this point.

We ought to get him off for somebody who will cover better defensively at this stage anyway. He's done his bit.

QE Harold Flair
06-02-2016, 02:11 PM
Kante is our best player. I think he'd be great for Arsenal, actually.

Like fuck he would get in ahead of Flamini.

John
06-02-2016, 02:12 PM
Vardy always looks about two yards offside but never actually gets pulled back.

Lee
06-02-2016, 02:12 PM
Like fuck he would get in ahead of Flamini.

Depends on what you want from a player. Most tackles and interceptions of any midfielder in the top five European leagues last season and this.

John
06-02-2016, 02:15 PM
Vardy would have been brought up on charges for that in Scotland. Halliday was sent off for 'incitement' for celebrating a goal in the centre circle while facing his own fans a couple of weeks ago.

Raoul Duke
06-02-2016, 02:16 PM

Dquincy
06-02-2016, 02:18 PM
City look quite poor. This probably wasn't what Sterling was expecting when he moved there...

Jimmy Floyd
06-02-2016, 02:18 PM
I saw Kakuta live as a teenager and he looked genuinely thrilling. The sort of bloke you want to be able to just chuck in a first team and run with him. Never happening at Chelsea so he just sat on the contract and ruined his career.

Raoul Duke
06-02-2016, 02:20 PM
Who the hell is this haircut they're bringing on?

Sir Andy Mahowry
06-02-2016, 02:20 PM
Christ, I've missed out.

Leicester are going to do this aren't they?

QE Harold Flair
06-02-2016, 02:21 PM
Lol at that haircut.

Mellberg
06-02-2016, 02:21 PM
The barnet on this kid coming on for City.

John Arne
06-02-2016, 02:22 PM

Lee
06-02-2016, 02:29 PM
With Nathan Dyer coming on it's quite possible we lose this 4-3 now.

Lee
06-02-2016, 02:30 PM
Told you lads.

Magic
06-02-2016, 02:32 PM
Lol it's incredible Dyer has any involvement in a squad in the top 4.

Lee
06-02-2016, 02:32 PM
Alright Danny, it was a joke not an instruction.

Mellberg
06-02-2016, 02:33 PM
Nice ball in from Gary Oldman for Aguero's goal.

John
06-02-2016, 02:36 PM
Lol it's incredible Dyer has any involvement in a squad in the top 4.

You could say that about most of their squad in isolation. It's meaningless.

Gray Fox
06-02-2016, 02:36 PM
Had Leicester to win 3-1 in the work predictor. Blow it up now. Leicester.

Shindig
06-02-2016, 02:36 PM

Jimmy Floyd
06-02-2016, 02:38 PM
Right, I think we all have to have a long sit down and think about this.

'Spurs could cut Leicester's lead to just five points if they win this afternoon'.

Sam
06-02-2016, 02:39 PM
Mind is blown, they're actually going to do it.

niko_cee
06-02-2016, 02:40 PM
The bit that's really going to kill the Leicester fans is meffing it up on that run of easy games after they rape Arsenal next weekend.

Ranieri lifting the thing at Stamford Bridge though.

Shame they didn't wait until the end of the season to sack Mourinho.

SvN
06-02-2016, 02:40 PM
Great result. Leicester could've had 2 or 3 more, too.

Davgooner
06-02-2016, 02:41 PM
Cracking game. Attention now turns to Villa-Norwich.

John
06-02-2016, 02:41 PM
Sky have some cheek to have their presenter indignantly asking when people will stop being surprised by Leicester. They're leading the line on that by starting every broadcast involving them by inviting them to drop out of the top four.

Sam
06-02-2016, 02:46 PM
Lee and the other lad who follows Leicester (MaxPower?), enjoy the day, truly jealous.

They went into the game today three points clear on top of the league and we still got the now obligatory 'top four' stat, because Sky are still surprised Leicester are doing so well and they still expect it to stop. To then end the broadcast with your anchor acting as though he knew all along they they were brilliant and asking when the rest of the world will catch up is cheeky.

That I've had to explain that to you after the post you quoted is laughable.

That that game was cited as being the one that showed Wenger/Arsenal had turned the corner is all sorts of lol.

It was the day their title challenge ended, champion teams don't go to places like that and stand off the ball for 90 minutes.

Davgooner
06-02-2016, 03:41 PM
Bollocks. Going there with that side and not getting shat like usual was fine. Coming out of those two games and then shitting the bed in the next two home games killed us.

Thought this was quite interesting.

Neville was a very successful player, but he has become an analyst, a journo, a broadcaster – and an extremely good one too. It is this TV persona that has made him such a hot managerial prospect, but the two are only dimly related. The ability to analyse retrospectively, to be right in an interesting way about what has already happened, is a rare skill. But it is a separate process to the managerial gift of sniffing the future, bending it to your will, grabbing the moment in real time with whatever comes to hand.

Old Wolchech (it's been so long I've forgot how to spell his name) managed to nab himself a golden glove. Top teams keep so many clean sheets by their very nature of being better than most. Shots to saves ratio is always a good one to look at (I have no idea what Ming is at, Chezknee was awful at it though)

Hart must have racked up a lot in late 2014 and so far this year if Mignolet beats him. Who else is near? I'd probably expect De Gea and Lloris to have more but then if you look at a few others:

Cech didn't play for most of the first half of the year
Courtois didn't play for most of the second half of the year (and Chelsea were in crisis mode when he did)
Forster has missed loads of games through injury

I don't know who else would really rank that highly for the league's goalkeepers these days. I imagine Foster, Fabianski and Pantilimon are quite high on the rankings but they're hardly superstars either.

Plus there's just the fact that keeping clean sheets isn't all that important if you're letting in things you should be saving when you do concede.

Luke Emia
06-02-2016, 11:34 PM
He's a bomb scare. He can't kick and doesn't command his area which gives the defenders a heart attack. He's not the only problem. But, he doesn't exactly exude confidence and that's a big thing for a keeper.

Plus he's got a really flat face. On the other side of it though I feel sorry for him playing behind a defence that more often than not contains Kolo Toure and Alberto Moreno.

As for the fans. Yep it's too expensive but if you really want to see action there needs to be a collective boycotting of a game. Maybe even once a month. 20,000 empty seats at one game a month would do much more damage than a load of people walking out ten minutes before the end of the game.

John
06-02-2016, 11:37 PM
People start leaving games about ten minutes before the end anyway, particularly in a fairly comfortable and unremarkable two nil win, which that appeared tk be. Obviously they don't leave in the same sort of numbers but it's still a remarkably daft protest.

He's just an absolute tragedy. I'm with GS. They recalled that Ward guy, may as well fucking play him. Otherwise why bring him back?

Liverpool shouldn't be as bad as they are, but they really need two new centre halves and a 'keeper as a minimum. And for any of their attackers who can run to stay fit for more than 3 games a season. Lallana and Milner as the attacking options are so turgid. If you could play Coutinho, Firmino and Sturridge regularly (arf) with the likes of Ings, Ibe and Origi as back-up they'd be so much better.

Was just chatting about van Gaal going with the line "I'm not telling them anything different" after Rooney and Lingaard have been saying they've been given more freedom. Van Gaal has always gone with the line "eventually players learn my philosophy"* and that after months of telling them of not to play instinctively, they get it eventually and then it's all rosy. I think he might have conned himself into thinking that's what happened, possibly with other teams as well, when in fact players just decide to play differently and he continues thinking he's a genius.

*except a month or two ago he said he'd given the players more responsibility to decide how they play. Maybe he's just confused.

Winning would mean a form of attack other than Willian just dribbling down the whole pitch on his own, then crossing to himself and shooting, which seems to be plan A.
