Not sure if we have any weed heads in here, but I'm going to presume so.

How much weed would one need amongst three? Would an eighth do?

For an evening? If 1/8 is about 3.5g then that should be fine.

Yeah that would be fine. If you're not massive smokers especially so. An eighth actually being 3.5g is pretty lol though.

It's called an eighth but you don't usually get that from the dealers. I used to get 3.4g and I think I was very lucky.

My reaction to weed is like the most scaremongery bullshit PSA videos, but worse. First time I tried it I got into a taxi and asked the bloke to 'take me back to normality'. The other two times were worse. Probably for the best because I'm exactly the kind of lazy, compulsive cunt who would do nothing but smoke it if I enjoyed it.

Used to smoke it a fair bit, especially during my party years where it was essential on comedowns, but these days (the past 3 years at least) it's an occasional treat every 3 months or so. Save for the visit to Amsterdam this year when my intentions of getting around the city were thwarted by the meniscus tear. Chronic weed use pretty much became the whole point of being there at that stage.

I think I find dreadlocked blokes who bang on about weed annoying in the same way I do with girls who call themselves tea or gin 'fanatics' on dating profiles. I swear these cunts genuinely think they have some sort of fascinating niche interest. At least the tea chicks don't actually build their real life persona around it though.

Hell no! To make a meal from scratch is much better. You know exactly what's going in it this way, i.e fresh veg, sensible salt quantity, herbs etc....

Whereas the sauces sometimes have shitload of salt and sugar. I reckon it's more healthy to make your own, and not much more effort.

Your real concern is the salt and sugar, which is fine. But the taste is clearly superior to tomato ketchup. I'd reckon ketchup has at least as much of both per whatever measurement you choose.

This is the thing. I got a blender not long ago and envisaged making many a tomato based sauace. Then you reralise you have to fuck around taking the skins off a million tomatoes and think better of it. Anbd whoever said it's cheaper - it isn't, really. Depending on what sauce you get.

There's a trick to it - cook them up then chuck them in really cold water and they should come off pretty quickly.

:saywhat: What the fuck are you on about...

* garlic
* basil
* oregano
* thyme
* chopped tomatoes
* 1 squirt of ketchup
* diced onions
* diced carrot
* salt and pepper
* splash of red wine

= homemade bolognese sauce

This is by far healthier than a pre-bought sauce.

Yes, like I said you're more bothered about the healthy side of it. You get all that stuff in bottled sauces, apart from ketchup. So if, like me, you're not constantly fretting about the calories then it's just fine. Homemade stuff does taste better (which is why I have 2 roasts a week) it's just all the fucking about.

It depends. Many tinned tomatoes have all that added sugar and preservatives and shit that people don't like in sauces. Carrots in a bag have not been processed in the same way.

As for the cost side of things, removing the indulgent red wine from Quincy's recipe and with quite conservative estimates of cost:

:
* garlic (5p)
* basil (5p)
* oregano (5p)
* thyme (5p)
* chopped tomatoes (40p)
* 1 squirt of ketchup (5p)
* diced onion (15p)
* diced carrot (15p)
* salt and pepper (negligible)

= homemade bolognese sauce (95p)

This is by far healthier than a pre-bought sauce.

So maybe if you buy Tesco own brand or whatever they have in Aldi it isn't, but home made is definitely cheaper than Dolmio etc in my eyes.

That's ignoring the fact you still tend to add onions and carrots to make stuff out of a jar.

True, but there's many brands out there that are just tomatoes. Normally the shit ones go in cans of chopped so buy tinned plum if you're blending anyway.
