Hope we beat Ipswich tonight, we've been rested and had a decent cup game with little effort so that can't give Evans an excuse for a shite draw.

I genuinely can't remember the last time we beat Ipswich though it was the same against Cardiff and Wolves and we somehow managed to win both.

I just can't see anything past a bit of a bumming here, I'll go 3-0. Murphy to run riot.

I just saw they have Varney on the bench, is there any shit over the hill Championship journeymen Mick won't sign?

It's only home games where we draw a blank.

The last time a goal wasn't scored in an away game was Halloween against Palace.

2 in the Stoke game (both for them), 2 in the Bournemouth game (1 each), 3 in the Wolfsburg game (2 to the Germans), 2 in the Leicester game (1 a piece) and 1 in the Watford game (for us).

Didn't you just say in the other thread that Shelvey was only 23 in his defence? Plenty have done well at United after arriving there around that age or older - Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Tevez from a quick think.

I know Lingard came through as a youth but it's still comparable.

I did and I did so because he also has almost 200 appearances to his name with most coming in the Premier League, has captained a side. Now compare them.

Has Lingard had a big injury that's slowed his development or something?

EDIT: Woahhh....are you seriously comparing Lingard to seasoned professionals which all were prior to joining irrespective of their age?

It's because he doesn't think Schweinsteiger has the legs (more than likely true) and he doesn't seem to fancy Schneiderlin who just happens to be our best midfielder by a fucking large distance.

It's not a yearly thing, last year we were crap and nearly got relegated, the two previous we were in the playoffs.

I'm pretty confident we'll pick up, we've had a lot of first eleven players injured and they're coming back. LuaLua back will mean more goals and although he doesn't score I think Baldock is quite an important player.

That was a thoroughly enjoyable game from 1-2. We're really shit defensively, but Man Utd were very quick closing down Colback, so we did well considering. I'll be a bit upset if Tioté goes to China. He's a good lad and still has a lot to offer. He's miles ahead of Colback and Anita and a safer option to line up next to GypJo for the rest of the season.

Not for any real length of time, both fairly standard playoff sides (made it on the last day in Oscar's year).

Edit- Lee I think we were much nearer the top consistently in Gus' season. But anyway nah we've never looked like the runaway winners (there usually is one in the Championship though).

So are you moaning about fans in general or United fans? Because I don't believe anybody's ever embraced their team being balls for the sake of entertainment. And that the "neutrals" would rather lol at United being crap than comment on the game is hardly the latter's fault.

That said, while I had BT tonight tonight thanks to a work chum BT forced me to spoil the game for myself a bit by muting it and taking away a good chunk of what makes a good game because the alternative was listening to BT's coverage.

Anyone, but big club fans are worse, myself included no doubt. Arsenal are probably the worst for it actually. Any sort of dodgy result means Wenger has run the club into the ground, he should have bought all the players for all the money in the last transfer window, why Diaby LM, etc. I reckon we've had about five rounds of that just this season and there they are, top of the table.

Rooney gets more hate than any player on this forum for no reason. The man's had 11 consecutive double-digit goal seasons, he's obviously incredibly talented, except now he's declining physically so he's beginning to show weaknesses in his game. Calm down.

From a neutral perspective always but either way the reaction tonight would have been the same 50 years ago. United frustrated at dropped points, it not being good enough etc and Newcastle happy at salvaging a draw.

Any sort of dodgy result means Wenger has run the club into the ground, he should have bought all the players for all the money in the last transfer window, why Diaby LM, etc. I reckon we've had about five rounds of that just this season and there they are, top of the table.

Spot on and it does my head in. Every poor result triggers a meltdown and it's boring as fuck. I generally swerve all football talk these days and certainly anything regarding us.

There's a kid who sits in the row behind me who has a meltdown every time a pass goes astray, loudly roaring and telling everyone involved they're shit. Because we're actually doing quite well there isn't much to moan about, so people have decided Marc-Antoine Fortune is the target for the unused rage. He came on last night and the kid gave him no more than five seconds on the pitch before he screamed WHY BRING THIS CUNT ON SHIT FUCK IDIOTS

A win for Spurs tonight puts them in a pretty handy place for the top three, which they'll probably need with Pochettino's high-energy approach due to catch up with them in the springtime.
