There's only one available man that might do a better job. Otherwise, this club has been at the arse-end of the table for the majority of the last 3 years. Its the norm and no amount of "Well, they should be doing better with those players" can cut it.
I thought that was going in, unlucky.

Four absolutely tragic full backs on show here
Strikerless has got to be one of the stupidest ways to play football. Why would anyone do it?
This is the least boring I've seen United for ages.
Sir Andy Mahowry
28-12-2015, 05:47 PM
Who the fuck is this team masquerading as Manchester United?
Playing "inverted" full-backs is also inexplicable.
I can't really tell if United are playing much better, or if it's just a combination of Chelsea playing less deep than most teams against united and, crucially, Chelsea being dogshit.
United will still lose though.

Give it time, they'll soon be caught on the break then revert to standard form.
Probably get to 0-0 at half time then we'll shut up shop by playing more dogshit possession based football.

28-12-2015, 05:59 PM
Exactly. We've been there, done that with the whole 'sack all the managers' thing - you end up with Joe Kinnear.
It's not even a case of giving him TIME, he's only been at the club a few minutes, we haven't even reached the TIME stage yet, and he's doing about as shit as pretty much anyone else has done because we are shit. Sacking him now would just be shambolic. Let the balding cunt finish the job.
As it is, I don't even think we'll get relegated. We might, but that's the level the club are at right now, sacking the manager because of that is just daft. Pardew, who can do no wrong according to fans of other teams, went through worse spells with a better team than baldylocks gets to use.
Sir Andy Mahowry
28-12-2015, 06:00 PM
Willian might still be rolling on the floor...
United's best half hour surely.
Rooney's like his old self. Seems he just hasn't been giving a rat's arse and dropping him is what was needed. But it's funny just how much his technique has improved, maybe he's been training harder.

We are absolute cat vomit. Hiddink doesn't care enough to improve it either. We need to perform a hostile sale of about three players in January (Fabregas being one) to send a message, and bring in hungry youngsters, either our own or from elsewhere, and I don't care if they're 'good enough' or not. The current players are objectively not 'good enough' this season so with some exceptions there is no point in backing them.
There's no point whatsoever in Chelsea getting into the final third as there is no movement there at all. I'm not sure this is United being good more than it is Chelsea continuing to be shit, with a comfortable victory against a terrible side tricking everybody into think that everything was going to be alright for them now Mourinho has gone.
When will we start seeing the Schweinsteiger obituaries in the media? He's been dreadful here and the rest of the season too from what I've seen.

They started quite well in an attacking sense. They now seem to have reverted to type and we're just seeing two dull sides slug it out. They have been absolutely awful this season.

All I've seen from him this season is using the ball the way van Gaal tells them to. Keep possession, pass to feet, don't take risks.
The only player who's looked lively in that position for them is Herrera because he offers forward movement.

Just keep giving the ball to Martial so he can run at Ivanovic.
Not even a striker on the bench ... unbelievable.
Costa is suspended and Remy and Falcao are injured so it's not like there's much choice in the matter. Any youngsters anywhere near ready to play in the senior squad are out on loan.
Jimmy Floyd

It's at the point where concepts like 'being ready' are utterly obsolete. It's the same 11 twats not trying every week at the moment. The kids seem to shit on other kids, get them in. John Swift looks good at Brentford.
I'd largely agree, now is the perfect time to start giving some of them a shot, but players looking good at Brentford isn't much use when the strikers you expected would play have got injured and/or suspended in the past two days.

Reg passing accuracy doesn't tell you whether he's losing the ball. That situation that lead to him fouling Mikel just now is what I'm talking about.
Jimmy Floyd
28-12-2015, 07:15 PM
The club is broken anyway, we won't win a trophy again for many years. Mourinho recently was papering over the enormous cracks of this bizarre player-farm scheme in which everyone is bought and sent out on loan for no apparent reason (most are released and make a loss) and you rely on the first team being made up of the overpriced, overpaid wankers that Madrid and Barcelona don't want. Once you take out the dressing room leaders then the emperor definitely has no clothes.
Needs a complete overhaul, starting with the owner's attitude really, so lol at any hope of that. We could almost do with him closing the purse strings for a bit to be honest.

Reg and to further my point, according to whoscored.com (http://www.whoscored.com/players/4567/show/bastian-schweinsteiger) Schweinsteiger is dispossessed 1.6 times per game in the league, compared to Carrick's 0.7 and Schneiderlin's 0.4. Seems pretty damning to me. For reference, that's also worse than Fernando, Fernandinho, Coquelin, Flamini, Arteta, Dier, Lucas, Can, Cabaye... I could go on.
Fair enough, he is a bit more adventurous with the ball though.
I'd probably play Carrick-Herrera most games, if the former could handle it.

No bait but feel free to nibble on it. It's a true statement, he's spent money and got nothing in return so it stands to reason he'd cut his losses. Aston Villa's and indeed Lerner's biggest error is not getting rid of Lambert a year or two earlier. Or rather sacking your main man McLeish.

A lot of people seem too disheartened by a narrow defeat at Anfield. Liverpool just upped their intensity and pressed us all over the pitch, as they will increasingly under Klopp. They didn't play that way against Watford so probably had energy to spare.
We'll lose tonight but because Man City are better than us rather than us being knackered (although I think there is truth in us being shattered). I'd rotate a bit tonight. Bournemouth is more important. Perhaps Inler where Drinkwater should be and Kramaric in place of Vardy. It's a shame Schlupp is out as I'd swap him in for Albrighton who looks tired.
Losing tonight is no killer. I just want us to get points where we'd expect them which should be enough to get us Europa League football next season.

Leeds United have reluctantly allowed Sky cameras into Elland Road to broadcast tonight's fixture against Derby County.
Leeds United have noted that the majority of press reports on the matter have quite rightly appreciated that the club's issues with the Football League relate in part to the entirely disproportionate number of times Sky have selected the club for live transmission.
It is not just the number of times the club has been selected, but the fact the adjoining fixtures are also then disrupted which adversely affects the players, the club's logistical arrangements and the fans' arrangements. It is clear to the club that its key supporters, the Season Ticket holders, have also had enough of this constant alteration, often at short notice, to the fixture list to accommodate Sky.
Leeds United were required to play Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday December 17 followed by Preston North End at home on Sunday December 20, followed by Nottingham Forest on Sunday evening and then Derby County tonight .
Recent good results have been achieved despite the alterations to the fixture list, but at great cost to the players' fitness and a substantial injury list .The festive plans of supporters have also been entirely ruined by Sky's live TV selections .
The league, despite the club having challenged them through the appropriate legal routes, continue to try and alter our schedule by insisting fixtures are changed to suit Sky, including Brighton & Hove Albion away from a Saturday to a Monday in February.
Given Sky are to show 92 live gameshttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png (http://www.leedsunited.com/news/article/tmkq6kplrq2613jrdaw1vsf4e#) this season, a fair allocation would be four home games per club - so the selection by Sky is clearly unfair and the league are allowing this .
The Football League regulations are supposed to be there to protect the integrity of the sporting competitionhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png (http://www.leedsunited.com/news/article/tmkq6kplrq2613jrdaw1vsf4e#), not to be used as a stick to beat the club on behalf of Sky.
Leeds United Season Ticket holders have had enough of these fixture changes, the players and staff have had enough, and Leeds United Football Clubhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png (http://www.leedsunited.com/news/article/tmkq6kplrq2613jrdaw1vsf4e#) has had enough .
It is to be noted that the League threaten a disrepute charge against the club. It is the League who are bringing their own competition into disrepute by unfairly prejudicing Leeds (and certain other clubs) by allowing Sky to unfairly disrupt Leeds United for their own commercialhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png (http://www.leedsunited.com/news/article/tmkq6kplrq2613jrdaw1vsf4e#) purposes.

Mid season blip for Hughton, identical to the promotion season. He knows exactly what he's doing.
Only a few more days until he brings Fitz Hall out of Sunday League (what the fuck is he even doing? Should only just be leaving his prime) and gets Routledge in to feed Lovelypants.

I thought Ranieri played it brilliantly. Extra man in the middle (shame he couldn't keep the fucking ball), keep our shape, defend deep. Our defending in the box was outstanding and we looked mostly good going forward. I wasn't expecting anything from that game so I'm dead happy with a point. We also didn't look tired to me which was very pleasing.
Fuchs is just immense. Kante doesn't stop. Nor does Vardy and it was great to have Drinkwater back. Fuck knows what drugs Morgan has been taking but he is transformed. If we can sign ourselves a right back, a number 10 and a pacey back up for Vardy we'll be laughing.

As for Leicester, you worry how they'll cope with Kante from here on in.

The geezer bowled into a pub full of Arsenal after a game up in Bolton once and bought everyone in the gaff drinks for a good two hours. Clearly a tosser but he's pretty much in credit forever after that.

What are the chances Big Sam was watching Klopp seethe post WBA. If so I reckon were in for a dogged draw.

barca awarded a soft messi with a foul on messi from the gk. big blow to the head. He should probably be subbed off as a caution but he continous for now.
Neymar misses pen but they score from rebound. Lots of betis player booked in all this fuckris.
Neymar kicked it twice, which makes the whole passage a bit weirder.
edit- Betis sleeping, 2-0, that's the game done.

I only saw the last half hour but that was tough watching. Benteke is just so wasteful when he's clean through on goal I don't even hope he's going to score now.
I have to say though Can is fast turning into a player I could love. What was going through Rodgers mind when he was playing him at centre half?

The next three games should give us an insight into what 2016 will bring. West Ham away followed by home games to Arsenal and Man United. 9 points off top and counting. :uhoh:

9.Despite what you read and hear of the propensity of Arsenal to choke the statistics don’t support that notion. Twice in the last decade Arsenal have dropped positions during the second half of the Premier League season. Twice there has been no change but five times Arsenal has improved their position after the halfway point in the season.

I think we'll finish 6th.

I reckon Leeds will win the league (again) before your lot do. Klopp should in theory get you back in the top 4 if he recreates the success he had at Dortmund. Maybe not this season mind.

Nice manipulation of "statistics" there. Why the half season cut off?
Last year they were established in second before drawing with Chelsea and going on to win two of their last six. The year before that they led the table for more than half the season then had a horrible run and finish fourth. Whatever their final position, their problem is they've regularly blown it at the end of the season and whilst it may not have caused them to drop places, it's spoiled their chances at finishing as high as they might have.

Is that actually what he said? I thought he just cited it as a reason why some styles work here/in different places, which is probably fair enough.
Different climates definitely had an influence on how different footballing and tactical styles developed in different countries. English and German sides are traditionally faster and more combative compared to more patient and precise Italian or Spanish teams, for instance.

Here's our pal Jurgen again, on his summer approach from West Ham:
"I'm lucky I had a lot of interest. West Ham is a good club but it was the wrong time, like all the clubs who approached me.
"Everything is OK. The Hammers. More my second name than 'soft'."
The Germans just can't resist cracking a good rib tickler, can they?

We normally finish the season pretty strongly to be fair; if there's a 4th place up for grabs we're the form team in the country. The title aspirations normally go south a little earlier in the season.
