They're on Season 5 of DLC. I'm sure they're fine.

Finished Nier Automata. I was genuinely thinking of asking a refund after the first couple of hours (mostly due to the wonky KB/M controls) but I enjoyed the game a lot. The combat can get a bit repetitive after a while (although switching weapons around, as well as getting to play different characters through the different playthroughs solved that a bit) but the story and the way it's told is great in my opinion. The music is also outstanding. Also I got a good 60 hours out of it so it was well worth the 25 pounds.

Found a controller setting that makes Project Cars without assists feel pretty decent. Although the current PSN sale shows me why having erm 'choice' in the market feel like a bad thing. I'll explain:

- Project Cars GOTY Edition is £12. It has some nice new cars and tracks I wouldn't mind having.
- Project Cars 2 is like £25 used and has all of that stuff. And more stuff. But there's one more DLC pack left to release on that game. So that's probably due a Complete Edition in six months.
- Assetto Corsa's Ultimate Edition is £35. Not as much stuff as Project Cars 2 but has some other tracks not covered by Project Cars. Vallelunga and Mugello, mostly.

So I'm playing the waiting game to see things go on sale so the price feels more like buying a big track and car pack.

Probably? I guess a lot of people probably do play it solo but I played all of Original Sin and most of Original Sin 2 multiplayer and it is better that way. I'm not sure how much the "competetive co-op" thing they advertised would really work unless you were purely doing bad stuff to spite your mates for lols though because for the most part you want to be working together.

Further into God Of War now and it's starting to open up and combat is beginning to become more nuanced and tactical.

Beyond Two Souls needs to get finished today. I'm fed up with it. There is no narrative to that game. It's just Ellen Page and Ghost Boy solving problems they had no right to get involved in. "Oh, this side-plot with the Navajo is kinda related to us. Tee hee. Here's the big where I'm homeless but also a messiah ... to the homeless."

I've seen enough of Detroit to hate it. It's just Rosa Parks if she was white and an android.

Finished the 1st one (had played it when it first came out) and started the 2nd one, and I feel the latter is a massive step up. I quite like the armor mechanic (which seems to be a hot topic) and definitely prefer it over the CC-lock kind of combat of the first one, but most of all I prefer the quest system in the new one. I understand the idea of not handholding the player through the questing and I don't mind it, but the first one was just so muddled at times. Also I think the pacing of the main story in the first one was a bit off. It was pretty clear what was going to happen from very early on. Also the singleplayer is actually singleplayer in the 2nd one rather that weird 2-player singleplayer system of the 1st one.

Shindig

That makes sense. I assumed they slowed it down because Race Room's monetary aspects are terrifying. You have to really, really know what you want to not overspend on that. I'm still waiting for a fancy Game of the Year version of Project Cars 2 to hit consoles.

Pepe

iRacing is the same. So much stuff to buy, you really need to be careful. Luckily I only care for a couple of the cars, both of which you get since the beginning (the MX-5 and the Skippy.)

Shindig

Yeah, I might just use it for hotlaps so I'm maybe looking for a handful of cars and then going after track packs. Race Room has a try before you buy option which gives you five minutes with a car. I could use that liberally.

Well, I've decided to list out all the real world race tracks I have across the games I still own. Partly because there's some video stuff I want to do with them but also to see just what Race Room might cover that I don't already have. I've counted 96. A flimsy number given how Gran Turismo has some street tracks that are very, very real. I've kept in the ones like Seattle and Route 246 which are spot on. ToCA Race Driver 3's track list is huge so I really need to get PS2 emulation on lockdown.

It's been surprisingly fun to see what turns up only once. I can't remember ever riding round Estoril but I have it in GTR. At a quick glance, Suzuka appears the most in 11 games. I'm relieved I still have F1 games that cover some of the vanished tracks, too. Korea, Istanbul, Hockenheimring, Argentina's death trap and India's smoghole.

I like to platinum all the PS4 games I play. Ive completed the single-player portion of the game. GT Sport has three specific trophies which involve:

Getting 65 pole positions
Getting 91 race wins
Completing 322 races

This would be easy in single player but the trophies must be done online against other human opponents which are going to take an age and it's going to be extremely difficult and frustrating. The way online works is, there is a set number of races available per day it appeaers. Races are a minimum of 15 minutes long and there are 3 races per hour :saywhat:

It's utterly huge. A few years ago in work most of the kids played Minecraft. Now every kid has played Fotenite, and most play it every night. It's all the talk about and they act out playing it at playtime. It's also huge among an older crowd too.

Have you played/seen 'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds'? It's just that.
It's a cool concept, 100 players drop on a map, the last one alive wins. In Fortnite you can build stuff and it all looks very cartoon-like, which is why parents don't have a problem with their kids playing it.

It's also free and out on every platform.

PUBG is a million times better.

Fortnite is too cartoons, building is bollocks and the emotes (which all kids copy) are a disgrace.

I am a strong believer in judging a book by its cover and from the videos Ive seen of it. Fortnight does not interest me at all.

I too much prefer PUBG

Fortnite sux.

It’s pretty cool how popular it is though.

Completely agree, PUBG just feels much better to me. Can't stand the building aspect of Fortnite at all.

Took a long break from God of War due to holidays/not playing PS4 much but I've delved back in hard.

It's fucking glorious.

I see Madden is out on the 9th of August. Has anyone played a recent one and is it gone all wanky like FIFA where you collect cards and have seventeen versions of the same player?

I might seriously consider playing all of Train Simulator World.

It's been that way for a few years at least.

Is there any gameplay at all now or is it all tricks and just a vehicle for buying cards too? Might give it a miss so.

It doesn't make nearly as much money as FUT(FUT makes £650m a year just by itself) does, but I'd say the gameplay is pretty good.

It's still a little pass heavy, but I like it.

The 6th or 7th game in a long running series which has always been exactly this.

That's probably the most Bam response, to be fair.
