Do you partake?

I used to smash a few ciders after work pretty much every other day, on my own, at the pub. Realising this wasn't the best idea I've since cleaned up my act and now have the odd gin here and there to take the edge off.

I haven't had a drink since September. Not on purpose (although I was out on Saturday and chose not to drink) but I don't really miss drinking when I'm not doing it. Next drink will probably be Christmas, although I don't always even then.

I like the odd few when the notion takes me, but I only drink 8-10 times a year now. I just make sure it's a right good amount when I do.

I bought some bottles of beer for some friends coming over last New Year. The remainder are still in the fridge, so yeah, not very much.

Casual drinking as opposed to what, serious drinking?

I went through a four to five year period of six pints a night and tripling that intake per weekend. Money got to the point I realised I was drinking myself into an early grave and unemployment so kicked drinking during the week on the head.

Still a nutter on weekends though.

I try to drink nonchalantly.

You've got a problem.

I binge every few weeks. And when I say binge, I mean get moderately drunk. I'm rarely smashed.

Take the edge off what?

I drink infrequently. Had a big night on Saturday which has validated the decision not to hit it hard.

Football do next week which is hopefully the final large drinking session of the year.

I have a crate in the fridge so I can crack one open when I've had a tough day at work but otherwise I save the drinking for nights out.

Isn't a crate slight overkill for that purpose?

I don't drink in the house anymore, but I will be in the pub about once/twice a week with mates where I'll have one or two.

Not gone 'out out' with any consistency for a long time either. Though I maybe making a bit of a return to that soon as there's lots of things coming up.

Spontaneous drinking is the best. I haven't been on a pre arranged night out that I've enjoyed in a long time.

Those Fridays where you go for a couple and end up rolling in home on a Sunday morning though

Id drink every night if I had someone (good) to go with and could afford it. Alas, I can't afford it. Used to drink silly amounts - like 6 pints 2 weekdays a week, and ten triple that on a Saturday - but now I've gone lame and tend not to drink through the week and only abou every third weekend.

I like beer though (Proper ale, lager, bitter, anything like that) so enjoy drinking, even without intention to get drunk. Usually end up pretty wasted if it's a Friday or Saturday though.

That's another thing actually. My last job I could do hungover (I was once sick about ten times in one day in the work toilet) but now I drive for a living I can't be hungover. Probably for the best, in the long run.

Going out on Wednesday with the aim to only have four or five pints, but I can see it going off plan. Got a dentist appointment at 9:45 so at least I have an extra hour or so to sober up in the morning.

I have a drink every now and again at home, but I usually leave it at one. A glass of wine with food, a pint or a whisky with a late football game. I tend to go out at least once a weekend for a few pints and I usually have a pint or two after our training on Friday. It's quite rare that I actually get drunk, although that happens maybe once a month or so if there's something worthwhile happening. I always opt out if people head out to a club as I just can't stand those and that really ruins the next day if you stumble home at five in the morning.

Four or five pints is enough for me to be pretty pissed and certainly enough for a hangover.

Depends on the time of year really, the early months of the year are usually pretty tame but from May onwards it's almost every weekend involving some sort of booze up. I'm at the age now where I can't be arsed with hangovers though, so I find real sessions are on the down in my life. That being said, nothing beats a BBQ at your mates followed by an early evening session at a near beer garden.

I drink far to much. 3/4 nights a week anyway.

Byron

Yeah, despite the last big session being a couple of months ago I don't have many proper piss-ups as I can't deal with feeling like death the next day. 4-5 pints gives me nothing more than a slight headache and I can deal with that.

Live with girlfriend and I think we're bad influences on each other. Probably have a drink, usually a couple of pints, 5 or more nights a week. Last night I had five.

I very rarely drink at all, and when I do it's 'a cider' or something.

I've never really been drunk. Been a bit fucked up by the combination of alcohol and medication, though.

I get drunk in the house if I know a Haxball session is coming up.

Couple of times a week I'll have 3-4 pints. Only every socially really though. I might have the odd can when watching a film but even then it's only when I'm with someone.

Friday night I'll have 4-5 beers whilst playing games, but it's generally the done thing, drunk gaming and having a laugh.

Saturday it truly depends, last week I had 4 pints but was up till 6:30am round a mates house, this weekend will probably be quite a heavy one but I find myself stopping drinking long before the night is over and going onto the water. Can't be doing with spending all day in bed, last time I had a two-day bender was in the summer and I ended up walking off the train in Cheltenham and spewing directly in front of me and then having to drudge myself through town, never felt as bad as that and I certainly don't intend to again.

Don't really do casual drinking unless I'm bored waiting on a bus to/from Dundee and work. Only times I'll drink on a work night are Sunday's and if football during the week. Haven't been sober in months at football. Thankfully.
