So whats on the agenda then?

Today we have hung a small bench by the window in the dining room, put the first coat of stain on the bedside tables and done a little bit of work in the back yard but its still too wet out there to do too much.

Hopefully this week if the rain holds off we will have the concrete slab laid for the back porch.

Going to have to clean the outside of the house this afternoon because we've got a bit of algae on one side. Not giving those Homeowners Association cunts any excuse to send me another shit letter.

Which means you're scared of them, which means they donned you shitless with a letter.

They are to be feared, unfortunately. They've got powers to fuck you over. Apparently they came round the street a few weeks back at 7am and started repainting the parking lines and just toed one geezer's car away. There's no need to be that ruthless.

I'd love to live down your street. I would never be bored.

That's not my house or my trampoline. Unfortunately.

You should get yourself a gun, land of free and all that.

So you're just posting pictures of your job now? I think you're in the wrong thread.

The DIY thread, I've always posted pictures of my work stuff in the DIY thread.

Unless someone else did it I think it has to qualify.

It seems like it should be something you do for yourself as well though. Otherwise, it is just his job.

And he'll make everyone else in here look shit.

This is my general aim.

This weekend, I need to fix the dog run, she has bit through some wood. Got some metal stripes to go over it and screw it down, already got it cut to size.

Need to get some of that plastic fence stuff to run it through the trees and bush at the back of the house.

I've been making quite a bit of stuff recently for our new house.

We have a puppy coming at the end of October so built him his crate/bed. The draw underneath is on wheels and pulls out for his food bowls.

Also made a dressing table for the girlfriend and then 2 bedside tables. Loving a bit of copper at the moment.

Made a simple bench from old scaffold board and attached some hairpin legs.

Then done a bit of ikea-hacking. This is a tv stand which was formerly a bookcase from ikea. Removed one shelf, added some wood, sanded, stained and varnished then added some castors onto the bottom.

Also made a similar side table using a cheap table from ikea for £5 and then adding and staining some wood.

I've never been into DIY but recently I've been enjoying it and have realised you can make some nice bespoke items (for instance the dressing table fits perfectly in an alcove we have). Learning all the time though but getting better.http://imgur.com/pVBtcGV

DIY is one of those things I think I'd like to get good at but the only time you have a use for it is when you have the rest of your life sorted out which is a long way off :(

In absence of a plumbing thread:

Our washer/dryer fills with water if you use the kitchen sink whilst it's on a dry cycle.

What's going on here? Can I fix it myself?

Take the u-bend off the sink and clean out all the crap.

I am in the process of decorating a room in my house. I dont remember where I read it but the challenge is youre not allowed to spend a penny. I have just finished three walls, I got a desk off one of those Facebook groups for free with two small cabinets that required painting and a swivel chair that someone was getting rid of because the air ran out of it? I got some paint from the local recycling placeand Im fast running out of the grey paint I got hold of. I am still on the look out for a little sofa. I like what you have done to that long table though Josh and I do need something for my books.

I will put up some before and after pictures once I am done if anyone wants to see.

Go on then, that's the point of the thread.

I still haven't finished my work, that's been over 2 months now. :(

What work is that Magic_Johnson? I have never been any good at DIY but I have enjoyed putting together this room I am doing. I intend to use it as a little computer room so I can escape the noise of the building. I will post the before and after pictures when I am done. I hope that is by tonight or tomorrow. I might even put a bed in it if I cant find a small sofa and use that as a makeshift one.
