So Grosjean confirmed for Team Haas, with the indication being that he gives them until Kimi fucks off and then moves to Ferrari.

In other news Marussia look likely to seal a deal to gain Mercedes power next year(even if only 2015). This will see them become an almost feeder team to Mercedes too, now that Ferrari have Haas.
Lastly, Red Bull have apparently only been offered a 2015 spec Ferrari engine for next year and are making more noises about leaving F1 if the offer doesn't improve.

Jimmy Floyd
30-09-2015, 07:46 AM
According to Joe Saward, i.e. the truth, it will cost Uncle Dietrich $500 million to pull out of F1 according to the terms of the contract. It's not going to happen and Ferrari know this so are basically trolling them.

Red Bull lol.

In even better news Monisha Kaltenborn and VJ Mallya have decided that suicide is preferable to what's currently happening to their teams (a slow lingering death by a thousand Maldonado's), especially when Bernard is handing you the pistol and winking all the while. They've complained to the EU about competition within F1, specifically how the prize money is divvied up, presumably they'll need to present some kind of evidence first but a full scale investigation would be

Disco

He did not, at least not publically.

There's a little bit of background as they've asked him to do it several times already this season and he's always complied. This time they failed to explain the situation (I suspect the car behind was on a different strategy so they weren't really racing each other) and he didn't feel like letting his team mate through. Most people think he did the right thing in the circumstances.

Gray Fox
30-09-2015, 11:52 AM
The teams filing the complaint is mainly about Ferrari. They get a 'bonus' just for turning up in the championship. Other teams don't get that.

As for Verstappen, it'll be dealt with behind closed doors. Vettel did this to Webber for Red Bull once, he ended up gaining a race win too. Nothing will really happen, just the team mates will probably fall out and throw a fit next time he's asked to do the same.

Other teams get payments too, Renault certainly get an historical payment and McLaren get some too. It's basically down to how much leverage you have with Bernie, which is kind of why they're complaining.

It's about governance essentially, up to now it's all been done behind closed doors in a rather shady manner. Bernie plays everyone off against each other and nobody really knows who gets what. Add in how the rules are dreamt up and it all looks extremely dodgy, not to mention that the governing body basically sold the rights to govern the sport despite their involvement being an EU stipulation the last time something like this was threatened.

Tin foil hat, Vim. I don't think he was, he's not been great on that Honda all year, I don't think he had the pace to stay with Ped or JL the problem is Rossi just isn't as fast at circuits that he doesn't like, which results in him battling with people like Iannone and an out of form Marquez.

Shindig

Maldonado winning that race has to be one of sport's great anomalies. Has otherwise only once finished above 7th, which was a solitary 5th in 2012.

I'm not sure I should ever have given up my campaign to have him referred to permanently as Race Winner Pastor Maldonado. And he'll be on the grid as long as Venezuela isn't entirely bankrupt and an F1 team needs money.

I read he brings something like $30m through his PDVSA connections. For a team like Lotus, that's easily half their budget, if not more.

He brought them £30m last season I believe. Which for a cash strapped team is a no brainer sadly.

BBC drop the rights. ITV step in.

BBC Sport is a real feminist mess at the moment.

I don't think I watched a race on BBC after Sky got Brundle.

I stayed on BBC coverage, but only because I refused to pay £10+ a month extra for the one channel. So BBC has no rights at all now then?

For a sport that relies on sponsorship to keep half it's teams alive they do seem keen on keeping as many people from seeing it as possible, or indeed publicising it at all.

Potential good news.

Maldonado has failed to stump up his sponsor cash, supposed to be around £35m to Lotus. If they can't get the money soon, they'll be replacing him with K-Mag.

You mean Race Winner Pastor Maldonado.

I won't claim to have an in depth knowledge of Venezuelan politics but I understand this is part of an attempt to save the somewhat cash strapped national oil company (PDVSA) a bit of money.

I was reading the other day that there have only been three new race winners in the last six seasons, our friend Pastor being one of them, along with Ricciardo and presumably Rosberg. That's a bit of a mindfuck.

I'm pleased for Magnussen, reckon he's a very good Grand Prix driver. Need more of those in the game.

I wonder how Haas will get on. Some believe Manor may be into midfield this year.
